Review Cake Waves - Chennai (Madras)

We have ordered a Minion themed eggless blackforest cake and they have prepared it well. We are completely satisfied (even though the price was a bit high when compared to others). We have tried few other shops as well, but not convinced with others when compared to Cake waves.

We have ordered cakes for multiple family events. All of them were outstanding. They customise the sugar and cream levels as per our request. They perfectly reproduce whatever the theme we order by referring Google. Thank you team!!!

One of the best place for cake .Here you go Cake waves . For my kid B 'day we didn't plan in prior. We visited this cake waves shop , shared our idea and rough pic what we are planning to have as cake theme . We just gave them and came back home. The final output was really awesome . Less cream, and the flavour suggested was Blue berry with Mango .Everyone mentioned our cake flavour was too good. Thanks to this shop. It 's made our kid b'day even special.😍

I chose this outlet based on reviews of fellow local guides. As most have mentioned, the staff responsiveness is outstanding! Their speed of service and delivery deserves more than 5 stars. The variety of cakes in this outlet is also noteworthy (images attached). One could buy breads and other bakery products as well. I ordered a 700 grams eggless blackforest cake and they made it in 10 mins flat! Rs 560 was the cost of my cake. Note - Do not take your car to this outlet, there is no parking space. Also, it's best for take-away and not dine-in.

My First bakery review only since I've been to this place umpteen times. <br/><br/>Red Velvet - Always wanted to try it since it was glorified by many. It was smooth, coarse but very flavorful. Though it wasn't the best like many depicted it was definitely fresh and rich<br/>Pineapple - The fresh cream was smooth and it melts in your mouth easily. The cake in-general was soft, went great with the filling<br/>Truffle - Never a fan of truffle and would stay the same way I reckon. Too sweet, kinda sticky, felt the bitter taste as it rolled down my mouth.<br/>Butterscotch - All time favourite with the crunchy toppings<br/><br/>Unfortunately, the waiting time for one of the customized cake took ages. Wasn't personally happy about it since there were hardly any customers around. Good seating space is definitely one of their pros. Price wise, they serve the best taste doing great justice to their price tag.

Cake Waves the go to shop for tasty pastries. Have been ordering from here ever since the outlet opened up many years back and they have never failed to disappoint! Their Choco truffle and Red Velvet cake is outstanding! Keep the standards high and all the very best!

It's a place that keeps growing and changing dynamically. Their cakes are sinful to eat and they variety they offer cannot be matched. The prices are pretty high, but the cake makes us forget the price.

Got a 3kg cake for my daughter's birthday and it came almost perfect and just as we wanted! We ordered a white forest cake and the color theme was to be in purple-teal-gold. However, they didn't have an option for teal color so we had to replace it with blue. <br/><br/>On-time delivery! Great job!

Nice bake nearby. If you want to go for the cheap and best bakes this should be your option. Their black forest cake is quiet famous. They have the tradition elantha pazham sweet which i love the most, quiet reminding about my childhood. I will always get back here.

I have been a regular customer to this place but the last time I went, I was really disappointed by what I saw. I was craving to eat something sweet so I decided to go here. As I entered, I saw two huge rats running around and one of them ran into the kitchen. And when I pointed it out to the man in the cash counter, he just laughed at me like it was something usual there. I decided that would be the last time I ever enter that place again.

well, i had ordered a Choco truffle cake for my wife yesterday to celebrate something special. i guess I made the biggest mistake ordering from here . To start with, <br/><br/>1. The cream was literally like melting ice with no flavor or the rich bitter sweetness that chocolate offers, rather it tasted like one of the roadside popsicles.<br/><br/>2. the layers were all soggy and stale. I really wonder if this was freshly prepared <br/><br/>So we decided not to eat it yesterday and let that " thing" freeze a bit in the fridge and then risk ourselves tasting it .<br/>well it had one positive effect in that it reinforced our initial thought that this was absolutely " NOT PALATABLE"<br/>to even think that i would have such an experience ordering a standard choco truffle cake is bewildering. <br/><br/>Very disappointed ( also a special mention to an hour late delivery . well done )

I ordered a mango flavoured cake with a picture of a car. it was a DISASTER. Not only the picture was properly printed but also the cake was plain and did not have the taste of Mango. <br/>They charge Rs.1700 for the cake and Rs.300 for the printing of picture on the cake. after bargaining on the price of printing, the guy was kind enough to reduce Rs.100. I had to pay Rs.1900/- on the whole for the bad job they did.

I purchased an eggless choco fudge cake here, earlier this February. It was very yummy. The cake was spongy and the layering of chocolate was perfect. There were no issues in placing the order or picking it up. However, I do wish they'd add midnight delivery service.

Used to be my daily visit place back when i was still doing my schooling.. the have wide variety of things and everything is priced perfectly.. All our bday cakes are from here. Best part about this place is that they open very early or stay till late based on the customers requests. Kudos to their service.

The best cake shop in the Kodambakkam/Vadapalani/KK Nagar/Saligramam area. Apart from their cake, the puffs/rolls are also good. Try their coconut and dates fills, you would love it.

As bakeries and pastry shops go, this is one of the finest in Saligramam. The cakes are of great quality and they also have the usual range of breads and other pastries. My family has been regular customers and never had a bad experience.

A high quality bakery in the locality. Their cakes are so fresh and delicious, so are the pizzas which deserves a special mention. Its not very often you find bakeries serving you pizzas that can match Pizza restaurants,but this one does. SO many good memories about this restaurant. Do visit this one.

Ordered an eggless black current cake for my brothers birthday and it was too good. The cake was soft and creamy. But had a very bad experience the second time when we placed a order for green forest cake. The presentation of the cake was not upto the expectation. The cake look and taste was average. The sponge was a bit hard and not tasty too. <br/><br/>Would not prefer a green forest any more..

First thing that comes to my mind when I cross this shop is choco butterscotch. Had a chance to taste this heavenly cake on my friend's birthday and came to know it was from this place and ever since that day when someone asked me to get cakes. It would always be a choco butterscotch. Lemme tell u why.... The cake looks like a choco truffle cake.. but when u take a bite.. you'll know that it has butterscotch on the inside.. and the base of the cake is sooo creamy and soft that you'd wanna eat more. I mean who would hate such a wonderful cake. We'll anyways that's my story. The place is pretty decent with a lil number of chairs and table, if u plan on having the food there. And they serve more than just cakes which are quite good too. I'd say that the ambience could be improved but the cakes are fantastic. will come back again for more choco butterscotch :-D

#239. [27-Apr-15] :-<br/><br/>Cake Waves is very closer to my house. Located on the Junction of Arcot Road & 80 Feet Road at Saligramam. They have lot's pastries, desserts, savories & sandwiches. Visited Cake Waves for Sandwich around 11 AM, but it was not available. Then ordered Onion Puff & Choco Nut Cake. Both were quite decent. There were lot's of almond flakes on the cake, which made it value for money. <br/><br/>Going by the other  reviews & my little experience with cake waves, i would recommend them for their  cakes. So that makes Cake Waves & Chocoman (Opp to Avichi school) are the good options for celebration cakes.

Location - Located at the 80 feet road signal junction a prime place and easily visible. Parking for four wheelers can be an issue as they don't have a designated parking and the signal is a pretty busy one.<br/><br/>Food - I have been buying cakes from this place for about 2 years now and have always been satisfied with the taste and quality. Other snacks items like puffs, rolls or tea cakes etc are also very good. They even do home delivery for cakes to a limited area and take phone orders as well.<br/><br/>Cost - Cakes costs are to some extent reasonable but the other items are a bit on the costlier side especially the rolls and puddings.

Been there, for buying a cake. I was disappointed to hear that they don't have ready made birth day cakes. Read many reviews about this outlet, i had much better impression about this. Being specialised cake outlet i expect atleast some ready made birthday cake available.<br/>At last they told within half an hour they can prepare the cake. I got the cake in half an hour.<br/><br/>Quality of the cake was huge disappointment for me. Bottom layers were too dry. Definitely its not worth its cost. Cake Waves is one among those which stands out fighting competition through quality and taste.<br/><br/>I've visited this outlet on many occasions as it is very close to my house and I've tasted many items on their menu(mostly spicy). Not once have I felt dissatisfied. In my recent visit, I made a takeaway order for a Chicken Quich, a Paneer Croissant and a Chocolate Ice Cream & Cheese Cake. It was in Cake Waves that I tasted a Quich for the first time. It tasted good when it is hot as it is thick and tight in nature. There was nothing special about the Croisant, just soft and well cooked Paneer. A little spicy in taste. The cake was ecstasic. I have visited cake waves quite a few times and I have tried almost all the fresh cream cakes there! My first out of Hyderabad review of a place and it had to make waves, hence Cake Waves ;)<br/><br/>Was walking around KK Nagar, Arcot road and spotted this place right at the busy intersection. Located at the end of the 80 feet road. My first impressions of the place after seeing the items on display Cakes, Sugarless cakes and more cakes being ordered and delivered and I decided to try something else which was interesting to look at. The place is clean, the staff is friendly and if you are around the area is probably the safest option for sweet cravings.<br/><br/>The Veg Pizza bun and chocolate donut.<br/>The Veg Pizza bun was average, the bun was not very fresh and the pizza kind of topping over the bun was not very prominent + the molten cheese was added to it when ordered.<br/>Wish they had fresh buns which would have made it a pleasurable experience.<br/><br/>The chocolate donut was very nice, right amount of sweet and chocolate and I could realize this is their strength and not the hot stuff. The 15 mins I spent there I knew this is one of the places for b'day cake orders as the customers kept coming.<br/><br/>Maybe this weekend when I'm around this place again, Will try the eggless and regular cakes which were very well presented. <br/><br/>Recommendations: Donut and chocolate stuff.

One of my fav cake shop so far ! Ambiance is quiet good but very small seating arrangements around 15 can accommodate . All their cakes are tempting , can't eat just one . They are yummy bth cakes and snacks . Especially their vanilla muffin. My personal fav cakes are truffle , Choco iris , Austin forest , berry blast , butter scotch etc., among snack onion puff - chicken quich - pizza bun are their best . It jus takes 30 mins to order and take a fresh cake home when to fail to order before . They make bday cakes wedding cakes and theme cakes ! They are at their best . They provide home delivery too .

This small cake shop tucked away on a busy junction of Arcot road was a blessing for me as it would rescue me in odd situations of forgetting a birthday . I could conveniently walk and place the order for the cake and they have a helpful home delivery model. they have a range of pastries , puffs , biscuits and breads.<br/><br/>Their black currant cake and choconut cake were popular and safe orders. They also stocked up on cakes in standard flavours like chocolate , vanilla , mango etc for emergencies , wherein you could just walkin and order , they just have the cake ready in 5-10 minutes with the lettering.

They all sell more or less similar items - cakes, cream rolls, biscuits and savory items - that taste more or less the same. <br/><br/>Then, on certain occasions, one also comes across dark horses like Cake Waves , which don't look any different or seem special at a glance, but do manage to impress you with their offerings.<br/><br/>My first tryst with Cake Waves happened a few months ago when I had a craving for muffins at ten in the night and had dragged my brother out to buy some from the usual place. Seeing that it was closed, we drove around for a while and then my brother suggested we give Cake Waves a try.<br/><br/>I liken a perfect chocolate muffin to a perfect man - sturdy looking, soft centered, not too sugary, sweet smelling, real and fresh; worthy of being called a muffin, not just on account of looks. When I saw the chocolate muffin on display here, I was reasonably impressed with how fresh it looked. It costed Rs. 25 apiece. Starting from the first bite, I got so in love with it that I couldn't help but interject the Homer Simpsonian 'mmm..' every now and then as I was eating it. I've bought it several times since then, and everytime the muffin has tasted the same. That's some consistency I gotta say.<br/><br/>After that first encounter, I began to drop in frequently to try other items on their menu. The star of the show is of course their chocolate muffin (Now if only I could think of a way of asking for the recipe). Worthy contenders are plum cakes, chocolate truffle, mango cake, veg puff and walnut brownies. Their doughnuts don't match up to the other items, in my opinion, probably because I have eaten better doughnuts elsewhere. <br/><br/>The list and kind of items/flavours they offer is akin to what bakeries operating in the same price range provide. The difference here lies in freshness, taste and texture. Mango and coffee cakes taste exactly as they are supposed to, mousses have the correct texture, cakes are moist, cookies don't look and taste as though they had been sun dried; this is all that I expect from a bakery and my expectations have so far been fully met.<br/><br/>Their not-too-sweet-pastries are a godsend for an avid tea drinker like me who likes to have her tea the British way - with cakes and biscuits. <br/><br/>If you are driving through this part of Arcot Road, do stop by at Cake Waves (for the chocolate muffin). It is a modest place that lets its food do all the talking!<br/>
