Was recommended for its Biryani but we wanted something lighter so tried the fried prawns (Moru Moru I think) and fish( the Tawa Meen Roast) .Right next to the Besant Nagar Beach. Had friendly staff who explained the items Food quality was excellent Loved the Mayo they served with the dishes Reasonably priced.Enjoyed the experience

Very nice experience! Rush was low, staff was very attentive and the food was mind blowing! Had their chicken biryani for the first time. Chicken pieces were fresh and the spice level was apt. After a long day of travel, it was soul satisfying. I would like to mention Mr Shubhodeep Das who was very courteous and attended to us with a smile. Would highly recommend.

Went to Besant nagar outlet for Lunch with family. It was exceptionally crowded as it was Christmas Day. Had to wait for almost 30 mins to get a table. No complaints it was not restaurant fault. Ordered chicken Rasam. It was very spicy. Ordered moru moru prawn, mutton kola, Pallipalayam chicken. All starters were very good. Particularly kola and pallipalayam chicken were exceptional. Main course chicken Biriyani and Kuska. Restaurant is known for its Briyani. It was really nice. Enjoyed the food very well.

Great place to have a meal after spending some time at the beach. The location is ideal and the quality is superb. The food was fantastic and the service staff was really helpful. They were really keen in helping us decide and finalize our order. They were honest and never too pushy. All of them, including the door man have made our experience so much better. Everything we asked for was available. The portion sizes were good. Not too small or too large. The food was served warm and they let you eat without bothering you with too many questions. They have good lighting and a pleasant appearance. They accept all major credit/debit cards and have clean washrooms for both men and women. If you are a first timer, I would suggest you try their biryani :)

The special mutton biryani at this outlet is a must try. The rice used on not basmati but a special puffed rice which enhances the flavours. The staff is quite cordial too, prices are moderate to high.

I had a great dining experience at Dindigul Thalappakatti Restaurant in Besant Nagar. The food was delicious, and the flavors were authentic. The biryani was a standout, with perfectly cooked rice and tender meat. The service was prompt, and the staff was courteous. Special menu for pongal, really a definite pleasure to your taste buds. Service is too good and professional treatment. A/C Restaurant located at Besant Nagar beach side will make you forget. Little bit cleanliness at washroom can be improved. Overall the Brand of Thalapakatti is never disappointed. Edwin is branch manager with impressive hospitality service. Please do visit.

The mutton biryani that I ordered through swiggy didn't have a single piece of mutton and taste was also unusually bad.

I am not against this place or something they have a really good ambience and the service was pretty decent but their food is horrible I could literally sense that the meat they used to Hauz old and I asked the person in charge all he did was trying to convince me. I definitely don’t recommend this place for anybody I don’t want anybody to get sick or have a bad experience.

The restaurant person calls me and says he doesn't have the dish amd says me to cancel the order, but he had already begun preparing idk what!! If my dish wasn't available then they shouldn't have accepted my order in the first place, hurt, i submitted a complaint with zomato, and still I'm running back for my 238 rupees from zomato! Very hurt and cheated!!!👎🏼👎🏼

Staffs need to train properly how to welcome well their customer.I felt like to eat rice that day after<br/>a long time of on a no carb diet and came to try their foods but the words of that two staffs was like im not a customer and i didn't even try and left the Restaurant with HUGE regret for set my feet<br/>inside

ordered via zomato app egg kothu had plenty of bones in it, I am a non-vegetarian didnt matter much but for people who are egg and veggies only? extremely poor quality food stay away from Thalappakatti, you can find better egg kothu at a cheaper price and better Taste in majority of the hotels in chennai....

we had ordered chicken biryani , mutton biryani and kola urundai and within 10 minutes they were served as we had gone as a family for late lunch it was late by more than 3 pm  , the biryani was average not like the anna nagar branch were i feel the taste was better and kola urundai was good .<br/>  since the outlet is located at the corner of the street and locate very close to the beach . water is very salty for even  hand wash and mouth wash   . they should arrange some what clean water for even hand wash purposes.

The place is located at one corner of the beach. Decent crowd here. Like every other branch, the ambiance is normal.<br/><br/>Coming to the food, the food tasted fresh and was served hot. Our favorite was the mutton biryani and kola urundai.<br/><br/>The service can however improve. Waiting ten minutes to get a bowl of raita isn't ideal.<br/><br/>A nice place to visit and have a good meal.

The ambience is not really cool but as usual their biryani is the best. It never disappoints me with their outlets. The chicken lollipop was bit spicy but tasty.

Visited this restaurant around 4pm after a movie. We ordered chicken 65 biryani, plain biryani, chicken egg roast and fish fingers. Chicken 65 biryani had 4 pieces of yummy 65 and the quantity of biryani rice was also satisfying at the same time. Plain biryani was asusual tasty and yummy 😋. Fish fingers was extrodinary. We gave a new try to this Chicken egg roast which was also different and tasty. The only cons is that it is lil bit overpriced for the quantity served. But other than that had a great experience and happy tummy at this restaurant. Will definitely visit again.

Horrible customer service and delivery messed up. <br/>I ordered for veg biryani and paneer tikka masala. I along with another gentleman were waiting for our order. It was a takeaway. The guy at the desk told us 10 minutes, I waited patiently beyond that. The order for the other person came and he took the bags and walked off swiftly. When I showed my bill there was some confusion and what I could understand is they had given my order to that other person along with his. <br/>They realised that after I showed them the bill and by then he had left the restaurant 10 minutes ago. They kept calling him but had no decency of informing the mess. I guess that person said he is far off and can't come. Then when I said at least to prepare a new order, staff said we can only make fried rice as a new order had to be created. They were not decent enough to even try and apologize. I am surprised they said they can't provide us with veg biryani but can give us pulao, which we never wanted in first place. <br/>A brand like yours is creating a bad image with the people you are hiring for service. Terrible, we left the place as they said they will give us the money but not the same order. Are we supposed to eat those paper notes? <br/>Horrible!!!!

It is one of the famous restaurant located in so many places! The biriyani over here tastes yummy. I odered dessert over here , BROWNIE WITH ICECREAM with waffles, 3 scoops of yummy icecream after heavy meal is the best!<br/>

Place is good and decent..they say it's beach view but actually it is not as some houses block the view..we went to beasant nagar branch and food is tasty ...ordered paya soup ..paneer tikka and mushroom and chicken drumsticks and scheswan fried rice and chicken biryani.(not like hyd biryani but like pulao and is tasty too)..all are good in taste ...and good at price.. zomato gold helped us to save 391 for 2 dishes .for 4 people ..billed around 960 but worth ...only thing washroom dint had water supply..overall satisfied 4/5 for food ,ambience,songs,service...service was like slow but we are fine as we had a good hangout..good place to go

A decent family restaurant. The place usually has a lot of rush. Most of the items on the menu weren't available. Moreover, the waitor seemed not interested in serving whatever is available. For everything he said it would take more than 20 mins to serve, so better look for something else. The food we had was ok.. Fish tikka was something i liked. Overall a very average experience.

So decided to head over to thalapakatti' Besant nagar branch, absolutely love their food in the Nungambakkam branch. So the food was amazing here as usual. We tried butter naans and butter chicken. We also tried peri peri barbecue which was good. But the big letdown to this place was their service. We literally have to wait for half an hour for someone to take our order. And if that wasn't enough, we were told that they don't have biryanis of any sort and it's over with. But after half an hour they were serving other ppl biryani. The waiter told us that now it's there. He could have just informed us to wait for half an hour or so. So the service should definitely improve here, otherwise the food n all is Great..! Even the ambience and its right beside the bessy beach..!

Thalapakatti is losing its standard. My soup had a housefly in it. The kari dosa was really bad. The batter hade gone stale. Nothing tasted well.<br/>This used to be my favourite restaurant. If they keep doing like this. They will lose all their customers.

This is the first thalappakatti I visited. The ambience is a little dull and not as good as any other thalappakatti in the city. The taste was also pretty average compared to the trademark taste of this place!

If the restaurant is open after 3 pm , please make sure there are good chefs who make proper food ! Request you guys to please close the restaurant if assistants are gonna prepare oily and soggy food. Whether people come in before 3pm or after 3pm , they are gonna be paying the amount mentioned on the bill. Focusing on advertising for Ramzan iftar alone is not gonna help, if a person who is fasting the whole day is going to receive oily and bad tasting food, at the end of the day. I have placed a complaint to your Whatsapp feedback number along with a picture of the bill.

It was really a great expierence diening at their restaurant situated near besant nagar beach . Biryani was really good and had a totally different flavours that would not be available in north . Worth of money and taste.

DT has not just changed their looks in interior the food stuff have gone down in quality. The mutton Briyani was chewy and not the same old taste, it used to be. I was served raw and smelly chicken. And when I had compalined the guy who was taking the order literally did nothing! He was like okay and just handed me the bill. It is attrocies to see this kind of behaviour
