Today and quiet few mornings i have had bad experience. They forget what you order and just give you the bill.I had ordred a plate of idly and they took more than 50 minutes to realise i had ordered idly and when i ask them for idly they just say oh we forgot after 50 minutes of the order. The staff is slow.

Sad place ... of the whole menu they just had idli to offer, though we went around 9 am , rest all the items on display didn't look fresh. Also the kitchen doesn't look hygienic .

Filter coffee..... specially the small samosa in packet really good. Check out the sweet puffs here awesome it is. Considerably cheap for the quality that they offer

Coffee is lifeline ☕️❤️

The mch filter coffee if one of the best around 🤗
Definitely priced a bit higher, but who cares ? It's coffeee 😊

They not only sell coffee, but a range of other beverages and small eats too 🤗

Madras coffee house filter coffee in Eldams Road is one of the best. I have also had their veg puff and mini samosas.

I have been here at around 4pm and it was buzzing with people.

The filter coffee reminds of me of my mom every time.

I would prefer if they have some sort of seating facility, Absolutely zero seats to drink with peace.

Ordered the filter coffee along with mini samosa. They were awesome. These guys have one of the best filter coffee in town. I also ordered some lemon rice. It was so tasty at a really cheap price. Love this place.

Location & Ambience: No introduction is needed and the madras coffee house outlet is there in almost all prominent area. And in the eldams road it’s loaded just next to Asli Punjabi Rasoi restaurant. It’s easy to find the place and it’s a kiosk setup, a self-service and you have tables where you can stand and dine so the ambience doesn’t count much.

Taste & Variety: So besides the coffee, snacks and drinks they also have an array of dishes in their menu for breakfast, lunch, chats and dinner. Also come interesting tiffin combos. So I had my eyes on their chat so took away dahi papdi chat and samosa chenna. Both were packed well and coming to the taste, the dahi papdi chat was a great; ample curd and the blend of masalas along with papdi and veggies were good. The samosa chenna was palatable but there was an overload of spices in the masala which I wasn’t fond of, wouldn’t be something I would order. Ofcourse I always like their coffees.

Quality & Quantity: The portion was apt for a person and in terms of quality I wasn’t much pleased with the quality of ingredients they use.

Price: For the above two chat we paid Rs.95 INR and the pricing was okay for the portion but this wouldn’t be a choice to opt for here.

Truly one of the best coffee micro outlets in Chennai who have their all pervading presence all over Chennai. The brew is truly invigirating and their milk is always fresh which probably makes thier coffee outstanding. Surely one of the top 3 coffee outlets in the Indian Coffee capital - Chennai. I heard that they are so successful that they are now expanding to all cities. The staffs in all the outlets I have visited are well behaved and serve well. Way to go Madras Coffee house !!!!!

Extremely nice people. Once I dropped my coffee and the person who served gave another one for free!! Decent coffee. Very decently priced. Snacks are OK. Nice place to hang out with friends. !!

Coffee is average. You can have better coffee at the same street itself at less price. Even the coffee at Madras Coffee House outside Chennai Airport taste better that this coffee house.
Food For Thought
Coffee is good. But i ve had better ones at similar price. Their snacks are a strict no. Not fresh at all. The entire set up is good and neatly maintained. Can visit for coffee alone.

Eldams road lacked a good coffee shop and this was the disturbing reality I was stuck with until an MCH outlet replaced the old pizza republic. (I had previously liked and rated an MCH outlet with an higher score).

The outlet is kept clean and tidy and the staff are friendly.

There are obvious reasons for scoring this branch lower; but it might also be on account of the extensive food menu coverage.

Reviews on the beverage and snacks:
1. Coffee - slightly inconsistent in taste when compared to Bazullah road (the other branch I have frequented) branch. But at least 80% of the times you can be assured to get a good filter coffee. (judgement made from at least 10 revisits to this place)

2. Tea - too much milk for me! I would skip this one

3. Samosa - its massive in size. Tried it once and found the stuffing low on salt

4. Small samosa- the best combo to have with a cup of coffee (or maybe after their cookies)

5. Cookies - what's called cookies is actually butter biscuits. Since they are also stored in the heated food section- it is served warm. The salt cookies is the best with their coffee

6. Puff - better than samosa. But 20 bucks for that? i am not in a movie hall.

7. Little sweet puffs- something I have tried only at MCH. Passable!

8. Cutlet - I liked it

9. Sundal/boiled peanuts:corn
Have tried the boiled peanuts which was served with pepper. Came across more as bar snack to me :P
I have a weakness towards boiled peanuts and therefore would rate it good.

On an overall note: this place is an absolute must visit for the coffee. The snacks- largely continue to remain inconsistent or not worth the price you pay.
