Good food - atmosphere is little old. Service was wonderful. We ordered sheek kabab (very good and authentic), Gobi manchurian (fine taste), veg fried rice (good one), butterscotch icecream (it was okie) and virgin Mojito with soda (little strong) - overall a good try and will come again

Very clean and well-lighted place. It has a menu covering a wide range of dishes, from vegetarian to non-vegetarian options. You also get to choose from an array of drinks. The waiters are well behaved. They speak English, Hindi, Tamil, and even Bangla. Recommend place. During lunch and dinner, it can get a bit crowded.

This restaurant is good for kebabs, sizzlers and platters. 😋 We had kebabs but forgot to take pic of it. 😜 The taste of biryani is not upto the mark. 😞 Their hot sizzlers is a must try item. 👍🏼 It is an expensive place but quantity and quality is good. 🙂 The staffs were polite. The ambiance was good.

Great place for Non-vegetarians. But that doesn't mean there were no options for vegetarians. It does have a good variety for vegetarians but there are plenty more for Non-vegetarians. Nice ambience with a cozy atmosphere. A good place to dine in as a group.

It was a fabulous experience at zaitoon , Nungambakkam. Every dish was so delicious including the chicken biriyani, hot and sour soup, green pepper kebab. The service was very good .

Visited my go-to restaurant for Dine-in after a pretty loooong time. It didn't disappoint. Food was served fast. Everything was as it should be. The portions in each serving is more than enough for two. Tried Crab🦀 Tawa Fry for the first time here....Really loved it 👌. P.S it has a very strong crab flavour so some may not like it.

One of the best joints in Chennai that serve authentic arabian and lebanese cuisine.The staff is extremely friendly, well behaved and communicative. When i visited Chennai, this was my go to place for dinner. What started with a shawarma roll, ended in me trying most of the dishes of their menu. Besides tandooris, BBQs , they also have very delectable indo-chinese dishes. Also their seafood dishes are something to crave for. This joint is a must try for any foodie visiting Chennai👌.

Zaitoon restaurant is fantastic, my lunch was delicious, we ordered BBQ biriyani, 5 people can have one biriyani easily Taste was so fantastic Ambience was superb 👌 Service was excellent People who take order are well aware of the food available in the restaurant. Just wow mesmerized by the ambience staff were helpful place is such a hit that it's always crowded. Coming to food they won our hearts big size portion fresh ingredients we had tawa fish, prawn manchurian, dal fry, steam rice, Naan, kunefe was the best I tried in all of chennai..had a wonderful time with my loved one..if you thinking about it please do visit sure to win your heart..

Chicken angara kebab: It is a kind of mix between tandoori and bbq with mayonnaise on top. The chicken was really juicy. Excellent dish. Garlic naan: no complaints about this. Mutton rogan josh: well, it was a disappointment. It was like a regular mutton curry. Prawns fried rice: Good one. Tawa fish fry: my favourite dish from Zaitoon.

The place turned out to be better than what I expected. The best thing about this place is that there was ample amounts of spacing between the tables. The lighting was pretty good as well. The service was good but could have been better. The taste was great for the asking price and the order was served quickly.

Went there by 3 pm on Saturday. Thought it would be empty. But I was wrong. We had to wait there for more than 15 mins. The service was kinda slow. Not sure whether it's because of the crowd but if you lack the patience , you won't feel like dining here. The food was as usual tasty. Their faloodas are the best in the desserts. Good for group lunches. They do have valet parking.

This restaurant literally saved me from starving in Chennai. I am not well suited with South Indian cuisine so yeah this was a go to place. Although they should increase their space. It's already quite big but the demand is bigger which again speaks for itself.

Zaitoon is known for its food and its grilled Arabic items so whilst strolling back to work from a meeting entered here.<br/><br/>Ordered the alfa ham half which contained 4 pieces of chicken (medium size) and 2 khuboos with thoum (garlic paste) and hummus.<br/><br/>Good taste but not as good as its other branches. Chicken was a bit dry. Even the khuboos.<br/><br/>Al faham is best from Arabian Hut. That is well marinated and boneless unlike the chicken here.<br/><br/>The Sulaiman Chai is big avoid. Bland and Iverson. No taste.

ZAITOON- It will always be my special restaurant because we get varieties in Arabian dishes . <br/>I go here often and everything will definitely taste so good. <br/>But SAMAK Makli - must try this dish because it’s made of fish but taste more good than fish finger, like a kfc crispy chicken 🤓. Firstly they had none of the main dishes like shawarma or biryani , secondly we ordered chicken Tikka , fish fry and mutton biryani and falooda. They took forever to get the food and the servers were very rude and they were not able to understand anything we communicate. Worst service experience in my life

The meat could have been more tender.Tomato Ginger Soup - 2/5 - Nothing Special. Below Average.Pepper Chicken Barbecue - 5/5 - Top Stuff. Kuboos was too dry.Barbecue Fish (Pomfret) - 1/5 - Must have been a pretty old catch. The fish stank. Zaitoon should probably give us a membership discount for eating there so often!! :)This is one of those places where the food is good, the serving size is good and you will leave feeling well-fed. The beauty of the menu is that there is something in there for everyone. They have some amazing arabic favourites to a robust indian menu and amazing chinese options as well. I personally love their chinese menu, a typical indian chinese spread of triple schezuan fried rice, chilli chicken, manchurian etc... all amazing, you cannot go wrong with Chinese here. I didnt like the dragon chicken as much though, its a lil sweet for me. The indian menu is also quite good. The gravies are your typical north indian tomato and onion gravy with some good indian bread selection like naan and roties. They have some amazing Dejaj Meshwi and other arabic barbecue chicken dishes which i absolutely loved! If you are heading there in a big group, or are really very hungry, you should try the grilled chicken served with hummus and garlic sauce... yumm yumm yumm! We have always ordered it!All in all its a good place to eat good food and chill with good friends! After driving around the beach we were hungry and searching for a place to eat, found this place on Zomato and decided to visit here.<br/>Zaitoon is famous for its Arabic and middle eastern cuisine. We ordered one full barbecue chicken and leham meshwy (mutton tawa kebabs).<br/>The barbecue chicken was mouthwatering, absolutely delicious. Chicken was marinated and cooked perfectly, it was spicy and with every bite you could feel the flavor of barbecue.<br/>The leham meshwy was scrumptious, mutton so soft and tender cooked tawa style kebabs. Both the dishes were excellent.<br/>Will visit this place again to try out their other dishes.

I have been a frequent visitor of this place ever since it opened. Top items - Showerma, afghan chicken, Reshmi kabab. Other items are all normal. All the items are less spicy and tender which is perfect if you are taking your family elders to this place.

There was a deal of Chicken Biriyani, Chicken Tikka combo for Rs 120. So decided to avail this offer and ordered 1 portion.<br/><br/>It came quite fast and packed neatly and the taste was good as usual. The Tikka also was cooked well and the chicken was quite red with the addition of food colouring is something which I dont like. The accompaniments were the usual raitha and brinjal curry.<br/><br/>For the price point its a good deal for a meal.

DEElicious food. I am surprised this is my first time in zaitoon being a Nungambakkam resident myself. Zaitoon is known for its amazing food and I have no complaint about it. One thing I have to bring to notice is how demeaning the staff is. With the sudden rain that has hit Chennai, a friend and me got stuck and drenched in the rain on our way to dinner. Upon entering, the waiters looked at us like we weren’t welcome to eat a meal there, we were tired and starving and as i adjusted my hair to get ready to order a meal, a really arrogant waiter walks upto me and tells me I cant adjust my hair. His look was full of disgust just because we did not look prim and proper and in his eyes were below Zaitoon’s standard’s to be accepted to eat a meal there. A humble request to the management. Dont demean and treat your customers this way. Make them feel welcome and comfortable knowing the scenario outside. Dont look at them like trash walking. Its hurtful. I have never been more upset. I will not be ever entering Zaitoon again.

Worst experience ever I had been there on 5th June 2019 we were 9 people after waiting we got a table a place where there was AC not working. After order we had to ask for water for which the waiter got four glasses and filled we asked for others he told us there are no sufficient glasses in hotel. We ordered soup we got cold soup n monchow soup there was only noodles on top n no soup. Staff was very rude when we asked in the above context. Service was too bad overall after billing we had to asked for finger bowl for which again he got four n told there is shortage we had to ask for mouth freshner after dinner. Very much disappointed.

I will give this restaurant full ratings for it's food and everything that follows with the ambiance, car parking and service. Their BBQ chicken is a must try, located in a calm place in Nungambakkam, somewhere close to Greams Road a well.

This Zaitoon is one my favourites. they have a very pleasant ambiance which urges you to eat more and their staff members are prim and properly dressed and very hospital. the car parking space is good. they have valet parking as well. the BBQ chicken and Mughal biryani here is something to try. their juices and milkshakes are underrated and aren't highlighted much but they are soo good too.

I have tried this restaurant in Doha, so familiar with this place. I liked the ambience here, attentive staff and most important the prices. Pocket friendly for sure. Tried from here butter paneer, faham bbq chicken , afghan bbq chicken, chicken tikka masala, dragon chicken, paratha, rotis,chicken biryani and falooda. Taste was good, best was faham chicken, kerala paratha, roomali roti, butter paneer and falooda. Falooda was just rightly sweet. Not bad experience.

I am usually not of complaining type but this restaurant has the capability of making you feel angry ( not only agitated). The manager thinks it's below his dignity to come to tables. even if waved and called he will simply send someone else or not send as per his wish. Even a sorry for terrible service provided today comes out with lot of lethargy. He will come to the table when called and turn his face the other way. Really horrible. Servers will serve only when called for else they will dump food in table and stand in a corner as a statue. Biriyani was good and fish tikki was so so. the time taken to serve was huge. Great food. Went there to just try their starters. It was fabulous. Decent quantity. Authentic tandoori chicken. This place is legit. You can't say that about a lot of chains these days.

This Zaitoon is smoothly located in between Greams Road, KNK road and NGM main road. this place has great food and good service. car parking is provided with valet. they have types of Biryani's and my favorite is their Mughal Biryani tasted hot. their mutton Schezwan fried rice is something to try.

We have visited the restaurant twice, each time a fabulous experience. The kebabs are the best I have had in the city, and quite possibly south of Mumbai. The staff is courteous and very helpful: on our second visit, our screaming toddler had to be nursed, so they allowed us the use of a separate room in the back. The prices are also very reasonable.

The Zaitoon in Nungambakkam has been my go to place for late lunches in the past. I absolutely love the dejaj ah faham and kozhi rice. The last time I went I saw that the menu card had changed and felt the prices have gone up a little higher. I ordered the mutton soup, it was pretty good, then an Al Faham, it was good as usual. The service though was pretty poor. Well life is kind enough to me to explore a new city this time...Chennai you beauty....After exploring the streets of Bangalore...I was very keen to explore what this wonderful city had to offer. My colleagues had recommended Zaitoon to me (apart from the fact that it was walkable distance from where i attended lectures). So one night after a very tiring lecture I decided to check it out along with my buddies...The ambience was pretty good and we ended up getting a seat. The waiters were pretty busy running around that it took us 10mins to get even a glass of water. We had ordered for Barbeque chicken and after listening to our tummy grumble we saw the dish being carried by our waiter who appeared to have a halo around him(that hungry) We jumped in and finished it in minutes and i found myself licking the fingers as a finishing ceremony.😅<br/><br/>For the ambience and quality the price is justified even though its is slightly on the higher side. Thin slices tawa fried with spicy marination is perfect combo, The red paste was just applied in the right quantity and meat cooked to tender inside and crispy outside. the combo came with green salad , fries and 2 pcs of pita bread, hummus and mayo dip. - It would be perfect for 2 for sure. Price justified. (5/5). Surprising enough the meat came in a 750 ml recyclable plastic box, maybe the same could be tried for the chicken as well. <br/><br/>Overall Experience: 4/5 barring the clumpsy packing, i felt the food and price were justified and worth it (ordering the mutton again for sure !!

First experience in Nungambakkam outlet.<br/><br/>Tried Royapettah branch for 40 pax but they referred Nungambakkam, Mr. Raees who attended the call and confirmed our booking yesterday night by 11.30.<br/><br/>We went there by 8.30 pm today and ordered 80% of menu from the menu card.<br/><br/>Soups; hot & sour, clear soup, cream of chicken and etc.<br/><br/>Starters; bbq chicken, chicken lollipop, chicken manchurian, Arabian lollipop and schezwan prawns.<br/><br/>Main course: ordered and tasted all friedrice, kerala parota, butter naan, pepper chicken gravy, kadai mutton, paneer butter masala.<br/><br/>Desserts; had milkshake, zaitoon spl falooda and lemon tea.<br/><br/>Ambiance is good, service is super fast and parking is good.

Benn there before, while we had encountered a polite staffing experience.. but this time of the month we are vegetarian so i have requested 2 pieces of rotti and dhal thadka. The server had bought one rotti sliced in to 2. I called the server person and explained I asked 2 rotti not 1 rotti sliced in to two. Instead of bringing another rotti that person started to argue it is 2 rotti here. It took a while to make that person to understand what I'm asking. Not a great experience while I walked in hungry. Moreover the ripped furniture has fixed with zomato tape which will not keep the brand reputation up. Have yourself together team.

One is in the form of strips and other looks like lumps . Would recommend not to order both together as they are same.<br/><br/>Chicken shawarma plate & veg noodles: standard taste. Nothing to write home about.<br/><br/>One of our favorites here in zaitoon is Mutton Dum Biryani, if you haven't tried it. Try it once. Every time we bought that, we we're amazed at how well cooked and juicy the mutton pieces were. It just melts in your mouth. For me, it has the best mutton biryani in Chennai.<br/><br/>Recommendation: Not so cost effective but good place for having especially non veg food!<br/>

We are still sitting at our table for the last 1 hr waiting for our oder. They have worst service that you can imagine. I won't try you to tell the taste of the food. It was just worst experience of my life. My friend's birthday was totally ruined.

the place is quite and nice to hang out. good food and reasonable prices. the staffs are very polite and the manager Mr. Ganesh is very nice and friendly. although i like the food and the ambiance i would suggest they should add pastas with sauce in the menu too coz at the moment they only do fried Macaroni.

Every now and then I am visiting Zaitoon. One day we tried few dishes. Everything was so tasty. I have taken a pic of the bill and kept ordering the same for next 4/5 visits. All the time they had the same taste. Then recently we started exploring many thing.<br/><br/>Food one should try is:<br/>Zaitoon special bbq<br/>Moroccan Dejaj Meshwi<br/>Laham Meshwi<br/>BBQ Fish<br/>Any variety of roti<br/>Malai kofta<br/>Prawn pepper gravy<br/>Hot and Sour soup<br/>Zaitoon special falooda<br/>Babycorn<br/>Potato<br/><br/>They can try having good veg varieties too. But really worth for the money.<br/><br/>I have visited the other branches in Royapettah and Annanagar. But it was not that great. Nungambakkam is the best.<br/>

Being Zaitoon and situated at KNK, we jumped at the prospect of enjoying a tasty lunch. The restaurant is pretty large and parking may not be sufficient on week-ends. Ambiance is good and there is a clean look all round. A dining room for large groups of up to 50 is located at the far corner.<br/><br/>We ordered haryali paneer and they bought us paneer tikka, anyway, we had it changed. Taste was not up to the mark and the paneer cubes were almost rubbery.<br/><br/>We then tried their fish tikka and Moroccan Dajaj. The fish tikka was again not up to the mark and the bassa was chewy.  The Moroccan Dajaj was okay both taste and quantity-wise.<br/><br/>For the mains, we ordered Lal Mass, Chicken Rogan Josh and parathas. The Rogan josh was good and tasty and recommended. The Lal mass was a bit different to what we get to taste elsewhere. <br/><br/>Finally, we tried their Dum biriyani and while the mutton pieces were adequate, the biriyani was only lukewarm and not hot enough. Taste was okay.<br/><br/>Service was attentive but a bit slow.<br/><br/>I hope they improve.

A nice family restaurant.<br/>Reasonable pricing, the quantity is good for the price.<br/>Wide range of Arabian and Chinese cuisine. Worth the visit.

We went as a group of 16 two weeks ago for dinner on a Saturday night. The restaurant wasn’t too crowded but the service was horribly slow ! Even when something like tissue was requested !<br/><br/>We ordered quite a bit of food (naturally to feed all of us) and it was all okay. Nothing amazing, nothing bad. But the service was lacking. <br/><br/>Neither cold water nor ice was available. That’s enough for me to not really want to write a review on the place .... :/<br/><br/>If it wasn’t for the wonderful company, I would have walked out.

Ambience was very nice. But even after one hour of opening the restaurant, many dishes were not available. It was a bad experience, and had to leave without completing the lunch.

This is what we call as feast! Zaitoon never disappoints its customers. It’s a go to place anytime serving the best Arabic cuisine. Shamsudeen, the manager was polite and friendly and gave customers satisfaction which is very important:)

Perfect place for a Non-veg meal. The taste, ambience and the service are all top notch here.<br/>I have been to this place numerous times each time I try different dishes and to my surprise everything till now has turned to be an absolute delight.<br/>The dragon chicken served here is among the best in the city.The biryanis, kebabs, Tandoori dishes are a must try.<br/><br/>Zaitoon has never disappointed me :) :) <br/>Kudos to the team :)

My recent visit to this outlet did not start well. In a particulalry hot day the restaurants Air conditioning near our table was not working fine we requested our table to be changed which the staffs did,Then on things started to look up, the food served was quick and tasty, it was fresh and tasted really good. While all of this was happening the manager Mr. Shamsuddin never took his eyes off us..his smile and attitude made all the difference. At one point we were even contemplating to walk out...the floor Manager turned things around. He is truly an assest. Thanks.

Been here a lot of times and have come out satisfied each and every time. A really good place if you are looking for some delicious Arabian chicken dishes. Biryani is fine, nothing special, nothing to complain either. You can close your eyes and pick any Arabian chicken dish here and it will be GOOD. The one that stands out though is the Zaitoon special barbeque. This with, good ambiance and good service have put this place in my top favorites.

Felt I am at home when I been at Zaitoon, Nungambakkam. I came to Chennai from Bangalore for an official visit. I been to Zaitoon for lunch as well as for dinner. The hospitality of the management and staff is adorable. They were very helpful for deciding the dish. They welcomed me with pineapple mint cooler, helped me to overcome the heat at Chennai.Obviously I wanted to try sea food, since I know we get fresh sea food here. The plater they made for me was awesome. All varieties with tawa fried. They served it with Kozi rice and kuboos( I never tasted such good and soft kuboos ). Tried a bit of mouthwatering mutton biriyani too..If we are experiencing such a loving atmosphere, we will try to be there again . I went for dinner also and tried with their kebabs and BBQ. Nothing more to say each and everything you try here has its own taste, that may be due to secret flavour of “the good heart of the staff” also.... see you again

The worst dining experience I have had for years. Ordered grilled pomfret fish which was anything but fresh and was overcooked too. The Al- faham was severely burnt on a few places and was raw in a few. The chicken clear soup was having only 2-3 pieces of meat . Even boiled water would taste better. Never ever gonna step foot in any Zaitoon from now on. You guys have seriously become deplorable.<br/><br/>

Wouldn't recommend this restaurant for anything. The chicken Manchurian was too salty and hard, the fried rice was too hard and dry. The biryani was a complete disappointment. Ordered their zaitoon special falooda. no where else can u taste such a disgusting falooda. Completely stuffed with raisins making it a very chewy ice cream.

A clean tidy place to go for a perfect meal,, great service, great hospitality, the ambience was simple and good,,, we ordered fish BBQ as I was craving to eat fish,,, it was so so so tender, juicy, delicious, haven't tasted such a good boneless fish so far, and the kuboos they gave was really good and gave me the authentic taste also the hummus which was served was just mind-blowing,, we also ordered wheat Paratha and pepper prawn Fry, it was damn good and the prawns were well cooked, nicely marinated and the prawn pieces was good enough in the curry to serve two people comfortablely,,and the chilli potatoes were also good enough , the menu had many items, but all were not available that's Wat the only thing which was disappointing...<br/>On a whole a great eating experience, a must go place for all and I personally suggest to try there Fish BBQ(boneless)....keep it up, kudos👍

best place for arabic cuisine in chennai.I had ordered numerous times almost weekly for a year and never did it disappoint.The staff are quite friendly(maybe coz i m a regular😉 )and their home delivery service is quite quick and efficient.
