Review Humpty Dumpty - Chennai (Madras)

Satchit Prabhu
Good place for a quick and hygienic bite. Menu includes sandwiches, rolls, egg items, upma etc. A small shop outside Nilgiris supermarket. All menu items and made to order and available hot. There is a small burger shop and juice shop which is next to this one.

Visited Humpty Dumpty two weeks back for early dinner. Tried the Egg Cheese sandwich. I think the taste was quite OK & the price was moderate as well.

Always intrigued with the credits issue for which a food is named after. One such debate is - French toast Vs Bombay toast. First thing that comes to our mind is the ingredients. French toast is associated with dessert or bland breakfast material. But the Bombay version has savoury side with loads of condiments, predominantly pepper. This Eggetarian kiosk is rightly named, catch phrase among kids at least.

This kiosk is on Tnagar Radhakrishnan road outside Heritage supermarket. Parking along the sides of the road.

Had their Bombay masala toast that had spicy potato masala between Bombay toast. It's filling but it's undercooked. Also, in another instance had a double egg burji toast that fine and nothing exceptional.
They have toast, plain and grill options for the sandwiches.

Prices are reasonable but cooking time tests one's patience. Can head here if you want to grab on the go when no restaurant is open in this area, which never happened.

One of the best places in Chennai to enjoy egg menu. Sandwiches are top notch. They are tasty and economical. Must visit street food shops in T nagar

Good tasting sumptous cheap sandwich.. Live counter.. Has a nearby sugarcane juice shop which perfectly blends with the sandwich.. Quiet a decent set of options given the eggitarian menu

I happen to frequent this place as it happens to be right outside my office. It offers quite a lot of varieties of egg based food that one can expect of a roadside shop. There are many quick eat options available around it are all good but none as filling as this for the same money. I am personally found of the double egg roll. One down and you are good for next few hours. Two down (if you can) your lunch/dinner is done.
So hungry? Only 50 rupees in pocket? Go to Humpty Dumpty and eat a roll.
