Review Udupi Sri Ganesh Bhavan - Chennai (Madras)

One of the best Hotels I have visited in 2023. Not a famous or known hotel for others outside the vicinity. But I got really impressed by the food and taste . So far tried Idly , dosa , Vadai. All good in taste and better quality. Cost is slightly higher compared to other local hotels .

It's an Normal Good place to eat.. breakfast, lunch or dinner. It's simply a good place.

If you want to taste the best Pongal in the city, this is the place. All other food are average only. But their Pongal is like a drop of heaven. Also they have very great service. Way to go! Update: Still the best Pongal in chennai!!

First time I visited, Suggest by friends... The only hotel have JAIN SAMBAR in north chennai... Taste, Quantity and price all are good...

This is the first time I had in this hotel since I have living in this area and I really wondered why I never had here before. Sometimes I just crave for early morning breakfast so I visited this hotel around 6:30 morning time, ordered pongal and vada and they served it really hot. Just enjoyed a lot having such hot and tasty breakfast early morning. It's typical old style South Indian restaurant so don't expect much from ambience but it was neat and clean. If you crave for early morning breakfast and won't mind about Ambience then you want visit this hotel.

More than 40 years old traditional Karnataka udipi style hotel. Moderator price. And famous here sambar idli.

Very old restaurant and since Udupi bhavan so sambhar is little sweet, it's pure veg morning and evening are busy hours...Place is decent, clean rates rea also normal..

Set dosa color combination & care for customers are classic here with the staffs. Strongly suggest to have vadacurry n set dosa for an complete morning

Best breakfast place Pongal vada is best and ghee roast

Location : opposite to mundakanni amma temple in RA puram.<br/><br/>This is very small quick bite place suitable for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner.<br/><br/>Taste wise if worth for what you pay, economical and value for money is justified.<br/><br/>Ambience may not be great and it may make u feel uneasy. But seriously a pocket friendly destination.<br/>I love their getting chutney as well.

This is one of the best place to have food within budget. May it be Tiffin or Lunch it’s worth for money more over the packing they do for swiggy or Uber is very perfect with no spill overs. Their chutney’s are best in taste and must try Masala Dosa

Amazing parottas. Ordered through #ubereats. The parottas were flaky, soft and yummmm 😋. The kurma which came along was a little disappointing. It can be made a little spicy.

I believe this is one of the under rated hotel . I ordered Pongal with vada this morning .. It’s really yummy and the price we pay is really worth it .. I don’t know why it’s not been given with 4+ ... May be I have to try more items and see how it tastes .. My first impression is excellent .. They chutneys are soo yummy and authentic.. I recommend this hotel for any South Indians and I am sure they will love it ..

Ordered Ragi dosa,medu vadas and idlis online and my experience was disappointing. Idlis were sour and Raagi dosa was very very salty. Idli being the staple diet and preferred healthy food should be the last item a hotel can afford to mess up!! Sambar was okish and chutney passable.

Lovely Patnam Pakoda. Available from 11.00 am. None of the hotels provide this snack item, in such a way Udipl Ganesh bhavan provides. Rs. 40 for 4 nos. Lovely.

Hiding somewhere on green ways road. It's an underrated restaurant. They offer really good south Indian food. Most of their menu is very good, their onion medhu vadai and cholapoori is unique and very good. The one downside might be the hygiene.

Working at Adyar always is beneficiary with the number of restaurants available around.<br/><br/>Ordered from here, 2 masala dosa, 1 plain uthappam and 1 lemon rice - 184 total cost.<br/><br/>Masala dosa had enough masala left even after the dosa got over, usually my complaint is that there's no masala. But here there was enough, and it was tasty too. Loved the lemon rice too.<br/><br/>Good food for nominal price, what more is needed?

For someone coming from a different part of the country, this was a life saver. Sri Ganesh Bhavan Udipi offered authentic taste at excellent pricing. Despite language barrier a helpful and smiling staff came to my aid instantly. Neat and clean place, quick service and they accepted cards. I will choose this restaurant everytime and anytime above all the other places.

Very typical udipi joint with good taste and great value for money. It's an old joint and it will help them to modernise to keep up with the Passage of time

When there's a prefix Udipi or Udupi, it's a preconceived notion that it serves the best south indian tiffin dishes. Due to the bhavan suffixed places started to pop up around the city, Udipi started vanishing away. But, it's happy to see some places have etched their mark and fix themselves for longer time. This place is one such Udipi eatery which is still running well, or is it because even this has bhavan suffix?! <br/><br/>Its nearby RA Puram Sathya studio. Has a little space for parking and if filled, without a question park on road.<br/><br/>It's a normal contemporary budget restaurant. Its neat and fragrance of incandescent stick is more than the food taste. <br/><br/>Had Idly and sambar vada. The Idly was hot, soft and grainy with rava intact within. It went along with the coconut chutney and sambhar.  The sambhar vada was good but just like everyother eatery in chennai, they dipped the vada in hot water and dipped in sambar, thus making the sambar vada not absorbing much.<br/><br/>The service is jovial and dont loose your cool when they are a bit nosey on suggesting dishes, its been that way. Prices are nominal.

The quintessential next door eatery with VFM and hygienic food. Great dosas , good chutneys and unlimited sambar. Also Udipi it says, but puts forth Madrasi flavours.

Very peaceful and great food. Authentic South Indian food. Very reasonable price and the best time to between morning 7-9 am and evenings 6.30 -8 pm
