Review Ar Rahman Biriyani - Chennai (Madras)

Karthik
This is the new branch of Rahman briyani, which has been shifted to the other side of the street. Ambiance wise speaking, its better than the previous one. There is slight decrease in the taste of food but still the uniqueness of briyani is extraordinary asusual. I would recommend to taste briyani here !!!

This restaurant was very good earlier. Now the taste and quality doesn't seem to be upto Mark. Have to improve really to keep up standards. This branch was one of the best restaurants earlier. Should sure revisit on taste. The hoteliers can easily understand that the crowd stepping have reduced a lot now. Just due to taste.

Stomach full !!! Love the biryani and brinjal curry !! Grill was outstanding

Loved the bucket briyani, got it delivered to our work place on time. Everyone enjoyed it.

This is my 3rd visit to AR RAHMAN BIRYANI and 1st to west mambalam branch. I went to this restaurant for lunch. Nice place to dine in with family and friends. Compination of chicken biriyani with BBQ and Tantoori, you will never forget your experience. As usual, the taste and the rates I bet you will get the best in the industry.
Chandru Mohan
Taste is above average. Ambience is average, it is not very spacious, a bit congested. Car parking not available here. Weekends mostly crowded. Price's are affordable , worth for money
Dino Pramodh
Tastes good. Rates are bit higher. But we can give that extra money for the quality and taste of the food offered
Vinoth D
Special chicken biriyani will be spicy and the parcel package will be good quantity of one package will be more than enough for normal two
Abilash Abi
Best biriyani in town Best place to enjoy with friends and family So awesome taste And value for money Everyone should visit this place once You’ll never forget the taste

Karthick
I have ordered mutton briyani and panner fried rice.both items seems old.mutton is not cooked properly.panner is also worst.i think they use expired items in their food
Sai Rajh
The best place to have biriyani . One single biriyani can serve 2 people easily . Quantity was so much and it had decent amount of pieces . Fish fingers were not that good .
Karthik Rajaram
This place is closed down and is under renovation moving to a place nearby. I wish they would mention permanently closed rather than being active on Zomato
Pradeep Amirtha Raj
It’s a awesome briyani place comboed with chicken 65. The quality of the food is good and the quantity is sufficient like if you buy 2 , 3 people can eat fully

It is OK for me.... But taste and prices is not up-to the mark... I ordered biriyan... Its taste not OK.....<br/>....service is not up-to.... Mark....

I have been to rahman biriyani before. Their style of serving the biriyani is different and likeable. The taste was good. Has to improve a lot on the ambience.
Saameer Sangroula
Food was normal but the hospitality of north eastern people was really amazing, preety hygienic area, service is 5star. I recommend them to have at least a bottled water or some juice they don't have cold drinks or any fresh juice not evan a bottled water.
Ohmyfoooddd
Cheapest place to have briyani. The quantity is damn worth for the price yu pay. A briyani can be shared by minimum two people. Tandoori varieties were okayish. Briyani was flavourful. Not the best 🙄
FoodieTyrant
I have got food home delivered from this place a couple of times. The delivery was prompt with hot food. <br/><br/>The chicken biryani is good compared to many restaurants now a days. On a large level it reminds me of an authentic Muslim biryani so it's a good sign. <br/><br/>The tandoori chicken is okay nothing great to say but then not bad. <br/><br/>The cost is pretty economical and good for a fast delivery.
Vijayakumar Madhavan
In my wishlist for around 1 year and at last went to his restaurant around 12.45 pm. When we went there was no person except us. <br/><br/>Ordered Mutton Biriyani, Kushka and a Chicken 65. <br/><br/>The Mutton Biriyani arrived in a hot pack whereas Kushka came in an open steel Pot. The taste of the Mutton Biriyani was very average and Chicken 65 tasted ok.<br/><br/>Certainly not a place to prefer Biriyani, as there are so many places in Chennai who server better Biriyani than this.<br/><br/>Location - 3.5/5.0; Ambience - 3.0/5.0; Food - 2.5/5.0; Service - 3.5/5.0; VFM - 3.5/5.0

Shit hotel...i ordered Nethili gravy takeaway...went to home, n tasted..it was pathetic...it was not nethili fish..it was more of like karuvaadu...smelly and it dint have any flesh...so i called them back and asked for replacement...they replied to call me back...but they dint call me...so i went back to the hotel in direct for replacement or refund..they rejected both....i asked them for professional ethics...they said it was your mistake to order the product....just thrown away the bill and their product to their faces...

Know this place for long time as time progressed they branched out across the city and their quality and taste deteriorated all along the way previously they don't charge VAT,Service charge and any kind of taxes but after GST they are charging GST. I remember having biriyani from Rs.110 for chicken biriyani and now it's Rs.160 and for mutton Rs.230 <br/><br/>major missing their sweet which they didn't provide<br/><br/>We ordered 1 chicken biriyani-Rs.160<br/>1/2 Tandoori Chicken-Rs190<br/>1 Mutton Biriyani-Rs.230<br/><br/>Chicken Biriyani: Was less hot,Brinjal gravy was little hot Raita was good,Pieces were half cooked<br/>Quality:1/5<br/>Quantity:2.5/5<br/>Tandoori:<br/>very little sized pieces chutney was not good, Chicken pieces were over coloured<br/>Mutton Biriyani:<br/>Pieces were not cooked well<br/>Quality:1/5<br/>Quantity:1/5<br/><br/>finaly we ordered Rosemilk,Grape Juice,Basundhi<br/><br/>They were too bad and over priced<br/>Rosemilk:Rs.60<br/>Grape Juice:Rs.100<br/>Basundhi:Rs.100<br/><br/>Overall Bill Rs.882(Including Gst)<br/><br/>Overall Rating:1/5<br/><br/>Try if you wanna hang out with friends for long time and a reasonable quantity of Biriyani
Arunan Balajee
I ordered Plain Biriyani, 1/4 barbecue chicken and schezwan chicken Fried rice. The plain biriyani was packed in a different way i dont know why! Taste was good and so was the barbecue chicken. But I don't know what they did with the schezwan chicken fried rice cause it was not edible at all like It was so hot that all we could taste was that milaka nedi we call it in tamizh!! It was a take away delivery and there was no one in the hotel that time except 2 other customers and they took around 25 mins to give this! Just dissappointed.
Vijay
Have ordered take away here: Chicken Noodles, Mini Chicken 65 and Chicken Biryani. <br/><br/>I really loved the noodles, piping hot, fresh and good taste, having said that it was way sinking in oil as i dig deep. Well i won't recommend this for people who are "Grease/Oil Conscious" <br/><br/>Mini Chicken got Three pieces, tasted good though the pieces bone-meat ratio where i found bone to be more ! Otherwise its OK<br/><br/>Chicken Biryani which came with fried chicken pieces dumped in rice along with egg. Well its not a Biriyani at all in my view. It more looked like "gravy mixed dump rice" it dint had that BLEND so i believe they were made separate which dint had the Biryani taste to enjoy, felt very bad.
Swathika Ashokumar
One of the best biriyani in chennai . <br/>The biriyani is long granined with less irritants and the brinjal curry with that goes really well with the biriyani .<br/>Their quantity is great .<br/>They have a special biriyani where the mutton peices are boneless and fried .<br/>This one is the best biriyani with fried peices<br/>I never expected the mutton to be so juicy even when deep fried in oil.<br/>A good place with an average ambience and good vfm.
Mohan K
Poor biryani ever. Worst taste but very high quality and quantity. Please don't go to this branch. Service is good. If you want to eat tasty biryani don't ever go to this place. But if you want to fill your stomach try this biryani.
Salim Junaid J
Really fed up with the quality ... It used to be good there but now its horrible. This will be my last time there . there was soap smell in chettinad chicken.
Madhav Aditya
This used to be the place where we started to enjoy biriyani from school days ...<br/><br/>As we grew up this place got amazing changes ..<br/><br/>But the biriyani tastes as amazing the old times we used to come . <br/><br/>It still has it a touch and punch. <br/><br/>Strongly recommend to try here before rejecting.
Sathish Kumar
Best briyani in chennai and awesome service but as a restaurant you cant explore in to menu as they have only limited items in their menu.cheers!!
Poonam Prakash
Worst place to have food no proper service for even extra mayonnaise or extra raita they are charging extra and the service person John has too much attitude he upfront asked us to leave the restaurant such a pathetic restaurant will suggest nobody to go there
Dhilip Pugalenthi
Been here just for biriyani. The quantity is high, they served it in a brass bowl. Taste of Biriyani doesnt excite me as high as their quantity. Good ambience. Good place for couples to sit, eat and chat.

Food and Flavour: 1.5/5<br/>Packaging: 4/5<br/>Service: 4/5<br/>Value for Money: 1.5/5<br/><br/>Our sudden craving for biriyani got us searching for a restaurant we hadn't tried in recent times. Thus, Rahman Biriyani. We decided to opt for takeaway to have a calm midday meal. <br/><br/>After placing our order at the ground floor counter, we got our parcel in about 15 minutes. <br/><br/>The packaging for biriyani and accompaniments (onion raitha and brinjal curry) were done well. <br/><br/>Order:-<br/><br/>Mutton Biriyani (₹250*2) - This is what you call as a large portion for a biriyani. Oily and decent with well cooked meat. Egg included. Didn't strike us as much as how 'Rahman Biriyani' is hyped; had it been hot and eaten at the restaurant(dine-in), I strongly feel it would've tasted much better. No irritants(Masala or onion/garlic clogs) found. One boiled egg included. The brinjal and raitha were a good combo! <br/><br/>Mutton Chukka (₹250) - For starters, the meat was chewy. Oily and bland, a poor version of a Chukka. Meat was a big disappointment!<br/><br/>Tandoori chicken half (₹190) - The chicken was hard, rubbery and bland. Not made well. Felt squeamish! Mood spoiler, it turned out to be. <br/><br/>The biriyani may have tasted better hot and served right out of the dum container but no reason for the rest of the dishes to have been mediocre. The meat may have not been fresh or not cooked well as it should've been but after this meal, we were left with total dissatisfaction and remaining dishes. No excuses for the bad food. The 1.5/5 is only for the biriyani. Packaging was done neat with quality material. <br/>Total bill:- 940/-
Hari Vijay
please change the New rate menu cards...<br/><br/>I luve to eat Fish fish biriyani from rahman.<br/><br/>i never taste like that.<br/><br/>nice environment ...<br/><br/>dont miss it.<br/>

I have been eating here at many occasions .The best part is they provide good quality food with the reasonable price. It's difficult to get table on Sunday afternoon as crowd surrounds the entire place.Inspite of huge crowd they manage the takeaway food as fast as they try to provide.I like yummy Biriyani , tandoori, & chill falloda.
Manimegalai
My favorite place. Very good place. Nice food nice service. I love to go there. My kids favorite place. Suitable for all kind of people. Medium fare. Nice ambience

Excellent... Any given day...always loved their biriyani.. Quality and quantity, enough for satisfying our palate. Not recommended for take aways, must have Dine in there
Yams Dayalan
well, this is my first review !<br/>I went with my father to buy a mini chicken bucket biriyani which was really worth the cost but to my surprise  Am not at all satisfied with the service they performed which annoyed us the most.  Ambiance was superb.  We have been waiting for more than half an hour without any response for a single bucket biriyani.<br/> I think only the service was not good, which to be made fast as can.
Shabarish Gopal
The best biryani I've ever had.<br/>P.S I am vegetarian 😂<br/><br/>We aren't avid biryani eaters but we've always had the desire to eat biryani ( the vegetarian one )from a Muslim biryani shop. After hearing rave reviews about this place, we finally decided to try it out.<br/><br/>Coming to the food, the biryani was absolutely amazing. The rice was cooked to perfection and to my surprise it was loaded with huge chunks of paneer. The amount of onion raita served with it was not adequate. There was an aubergine preparation served with it which was not my favourite. We had a also ordered gobi manchurian to go with the biryani. It was okayish . Nothing much to say about that.<br/><br/>I have nothing to say about the ambience. It was just like any other usual and crowded biryani eatery.
Vijitha Tanna
Heard good reviews about this place who resides near to Rahman Biriyani. Gave it a try. But it was a pathetic experience. Biriyani was bland. Absolutely no flavour except for the ghee smell. Quantity was good, but I feel it's not worth for the money we pay.<br/>None of the starters were done good. Ambience is clustered and it's claustrophoebic.<br/>Waiters need to be trained more. Overall bad experience!
Gaja Ranjan
Worst food. Biriyani is really bad. Just by serving more quantity and giving a complementary sweet, it doesn't become a good one.<br/>The ambience, waitresses and their service nothing matters.<br/>Food is what matters at end. Their Tandoor, Chinese food also sucks big time.<br/>Very bad place. Don't even choose this place in your dreams.
Maria Gomes
the quantity of the food was really nice and the service was also good.<br/><br/>They also gave kesari as a welcome dish for all. it was also nice<br/>food 3.5/5<br/>service 3/5<br/>price 3/5
Ruchika Shree
This was my third visit to Rahman Biriyani. Brilliant biriyani and pocket friendly. The quantity served is also huge and they provide complimentary sweet and coke with biriyani. <br/>The flavour, taste and freshness was perfect all the three times.<br/>Arabic food is not great here. Tandoor is must try.<br/>A must visit place!
Balasubramanian Kumaravel
No use in having huge quantity if the taste of the biriyani is very average. It is not unpalatable, but for a place which is supposed to specialize in biriyanis it should have been better.
Arun Kumar
Briyani tharu maru... Ambience is very good. It's Little crowdy though ... Starters evalo vena avalo sapdalam... Mass ji ivanga.... Thopu thurumu..
Divya Makkar
Worst biriyani in town. Just by serving huge quantity, it doesn't serve the purpose. No point in serving free sweet with biriyani when the biriyani itself is bad.<br/><br/>Their barbecues taste horrible. Ambience is also cramped. Wouldn't recommend this place.

I order here almost every week. Taste of the food is good and since its close to my place I frequently order here. <br/><br/>However what I don't like is not so courteous reply they give. Instance #1 - I ordered for veg Biriyani and clearly told it must be veg but what I got was non veg and when I called the shop, all the guy told is "athuku naan enna pannamudiyum mathi anapchitom". <br/><br/> Instance #2 - Ordered food and didn't get it after an hour, when I try reaching them again, one guy picked and said your line got disconnected while placing the order. I told l, I placed an order and only after which call got disconnected and that too it was not me who disconnected. He started arguing saying the number is Landline number and had sufficient balance so their line was clear and the tone of the guy was pathetic. <br/><br/>My point is if its their mistake please accept and pls be courteous and mind the tone in which you reply. Will think a lot before ordering from now on.<br/><br/>Worst service I have ever had 🙄
Ajeesh Chandran
By far the best briyani I had in recent times. They serve the best Chicken and mutton briyani. Had dine in once and made take away twice each time the quality, quantity and taste wise it remained the same.
Aishwarya Mishra
After a whole lot of travelling and shopping, the only thing you wish for is good food. Thankfully Rahman's are the people you can trust. <br/>Punjabi chicken was succulent with a humongous amount of gravy. Butter naan was a winner too. <br/>20 mins to serve seemed like an hour because I was damn hungry. <br/>The outlet can feel a little claustrophobic. <br/>Over all good food and courteous waiters. <br/>
Mouli Shankar
Went for lunch there with friends. <br/>Ordered chicken Biryani, the staffs were nice and responsive within few minutes they served it in authentic banana leaf. <br/>Taste was good and the chicken pieces were big, the raita was also good but the brinjal gravy was bad. <br/>They gave sweet (kesari) which was okay. <br/>Quantity of biryani was more and good for that price. <br/>Overall ambience was good. <br/>Value for the money.
Karthi Keyan
very worst nature.<br/>1. delayed  service of approx 1 hour<br/>2. mutton biriyani & other gravy items are utter waste.<br/>3. they insisted us to buy special biriyani instead of  muttton biriyani.<br/><br/>only value lot of kushka & 2 : 1 sharing , quantity ok, but quality zero.
Siva M
I have placed order at MEdavakkam branch for lunch on 6 Nov at 1 Pm and was informed order will be delivered in 1 hr. Tried calling Medavakkam branch from 2.30 PM (for almost 25 times) no response and they are not even picking my call.<br/>They do not have courtesy to call me and inform the food will not be delivered. <br/>Very bad food chain. They are not fit for running the restaurant. <br/><br/>Very very worst service. If you are unable to provide home delivery please stop the service. <br/>Restaurant  make the people starve for food .............................
Arun Kumar
Nothing fancy about this place. A regular eat out when you are hungry. Biriyani unfortunately is not the star of the menu. I liked the Tandoori and fried chicken better. Good part is you can get smaller portions if you are dining alone.
Saravana
One of the most worst service and quality is below the average and the briyani taste is not good very poor for this food taste the price is high so try to skip this hotel they never know how to behave with customers
Karthikeyan Shanmugam
Firstly,This is one of the restaurants which provide quality food at good price.Better than other top ones. The ambience and service are great.Go for it!!

I was looking for a place to eat and ended up going to this place with my friend.<br/>If you plan to go by car , Just dont. There is no place near by to park . <br/>For a start, the ambience of the place is below average . <br/>We placed an order for Two Chicken briyanis, along with a chilly chicken gravy . we ordered sweet corn chicken soup and dragon chicken for starter. <br/>We went in around 7.05 pm . The place was almost empty( Should have been a clear warning sign , reflecting the quality of food served). For 50 mins , we sat at the table waiting for atleast the soup to be served. It was totally an appaling experience as we never got anything . <br/>The waiter kept saying "10 mins " but after 50 gruelling minutes, we decided the wait was too long.<br/>We decided to leave . On our way out, we raised a complaint with a gentleman sitting at the Billing area. He behaved in a very off hand manner which was plain rude. There never seemed to be an apology heading our way . We decided it was not worth pursuing and walked out. It was like the managment did not care that customers were walking out with out getting served. <br/>It was a totally horrible experience . Later i came to know from a few of my foodie friends that the place serves below average food and what happened to me was a norm here. <br/>Never going to visit this place again . <br/>Avoid this place at all cost .
Arvind Chand
we went to this place for lunch, one of my friend took us here.<br/>seeing the name itself makes us think it must be famous for its biriyani.<br/>we ordered two special biriyani and two roti and chilly chicken gravy.<br/>The quantity of the biriyani was good and  instead of chicken normal leg piece or its bone. they had boneless chicken roasted. it was really nice and the gravy was also good and the chicken in the gravy was not that great. the roti was too dry and it was like pappad. overall the quantity of the food was really nice and the service was also good.<br/>They also gave kesari as a welcome dish for all. it was also nice.
Vignesh Ramachandran
The best biryani I have had till date. Tasty gravy and biryani. Biryani lovers must come here for sure. The ambience was peaceful. Service too good. I would love to see some combos of biryani with gravy at affordable prices I would see you soon though!
Bala Ganesan
Worst Taste . I  bought 6 bucket mutton biriyani and 10 chicken 65 for function. Worst mutton biriyani in my lifetime. chicken 65 is not cooked at all .if there is any rating below zero i would have rated that.
Bhargav Bittersteel
Ok place not worth it . Food tastes so- so . The biryani is made with excessive masala and spices. The quantity served is large and price is decent. But overall not great
Prabakaran Veeraiyan
Very worst guys .... i ordered ramzan special Bucket Briyani (Mutton) i never eat in my life this type of biriyani very bad taste and 6 pieces only in one bucket that cot Rs 1900 very bad. i never order again this in my life and also refer my friends and relatives... very very bad... very worst
Kailash Sundarrajan
Ordered <br/>Egg biriyani <br/>Chilli chicken dry<br/>Late lunch<br/>Quick service <br/>Chilli chicken ok not great <br/>Biriyani was decent <br/>The Brinjal gravy was excellent <br/>Price tag is high
Ashwin Narayan
Came here for lunch now and had chicken Briyani the taste was somewhere slightly similar to kalyana Briyani at George Town and same type of serving in banana leaf which is authentic and quiet good to hav food as greeny base leaf with sweet . Brinjal gravy here is nice and i can't find curd in raitha <br/><br/><br/>Service was super and price also normal for the quality the give <br/><br/>Ambience WAs too good that u will hav small size rooms in set of 3
Joshuaa Anand
The food is good but the people who serve are not that clean . There seams to be a little of HANS smell and there will be some fingers in your biriyani bowl at times I have asked about this to the manager where he least seams to be worried I am talking about the branch in metupalayam road
Bharath Kowshik
I've been visiting this place everyday for the past one year and the only reason I could possible state is their Barbeque Chicken. It's smoked flavour and the Mayo never fails to satisfy me. Their briyani is fine, just fine. And not to forget, their flaky Tandoori parotta comes to the rescue for bachelors, longing for a tummy filling cum economic dinner. <br/>Rahman briyani is a slap on the cheeks for those who refuse to believe in small scale/ unconventional restaurants offering good food and hospitality. But you should keep in mind that this review holds good only for this branch and not any other for their recipes tend to vary in taste, across other branches and I've not been a fan of them. <br/>Ambiance: small and home-like <br/>Pricing: ₹500 (for two)<br/>Must try: Barbeque chicken, pepper chicken, Tandoori parotta<br/>Don't try: GRILLED CHICKEN<br/>And don't forget to grab that free cup of sweet before your meal. On the whole, 4 it is :)

Visited the Rahmans newly opened restaurant in Medavakkam VelaChery road. Wont mind saying, they have hurried opening up the restaurant without proper training to the waiting staff. The order had to be explained thrice and then came to know mutton gravy items are NA. Had to ask for cold mineral water thrice and every time they had brought normal filter water. Finally the water had arrived and to our surprise, it was not even normal temperature, the bottle was HOT.<br/><br/>The space between the table's is a concern and you have the perfect time twisting your body for a pre meal exercise.
Ashwin Prashanth
I had Chicken biriyani and chicken lollypop. They served in banana leaf, wonderful. The best biriyani I have ever had n Chennai. Loved it. I'm dying to try mutton , missing it evrytym. U miss the time, u miss d biriyani. Demand :D<br/>Thanks for the cook<br/>

A nice place for having Tamil style Muslim biryani with good ambience 🍴🍜. They serve biryani in banana leaf, which, most restaurants don't offer. The quantity is generous for a good eater😁.Pepper chicken ordered was awesome. Rawa kesari is served as dessert in the end. Absolutely vfm 😀
Mr. Dpak Roshan
Rahman biryani - this is the restaurant we cannot able to resist ourselves to eat this biryani after coming from our college. The speciality of this restaurant is whatever you order something or not they will give you a cup of sweet (kesari 😋) aaaawwww. So today we have ordered and mutton and chicken biryani with Kesar falooda. When coming to biryani the size and taste of this biryani is uncontrollable 😝 adadaaaa ena tasteeuuu!!! <br/>So For rahman biryani <br/>Taste-4/5<br/>Quality-4.6/5<br/>Service-5/5 <br/>Overall an awesome biryani 😍<br/>
Rathinavel Rajan Rathinakumar
Delicious biryani and very generous portions of it. Absolute value for money. I prefer their takeaway when I am around this area than dining in. It's often crowded but the takeaway counters are very well managed. <br/><br/>Grill chicken, tandoor dishes and the biryani are the highlights. I have had food several times and the flavor packs a punch. For those who love the taste of good Muslim biryani at reasonable price, this is a must try restaurant. <br/><br/>Also their cleanliness is worth mentioning as they take good care to ensure hygiene. <br/>

This Review for West Mambalam Brach of Rahman Biriyani has its Good and its Bad !!.<br/>Good :<br/>* The food they serve are good and satisfactory at its best ! no huge complaints on food here !! some of foods and dishes may taste good and some of them are average !!.<br/>* The hotel is fully Air conditioned they don't have huge 2 person seat sofas but only chairs if you want to know and other services are satisfactory !!.<br/>* This hotel has plenty of servers and they will serve you quickly as possible !!.<br/>* This hotel foods are very moderate and budget oriented !! so if you have moderate amount you may not need to worry there are foods you can buy with moderate price !!.<br/>BAD:<br/>* The parcelled items are unsatisfactory !! they do the worst in parcelling items especially dishes and gravies that the parcel will all be oily ! the covered items will be filled with oil the time  i try to open parcel which is shameful !!.<br/>* Many parcelled dishes and gravies i observe has excessive amount of oil which spoils my mood to eat them !! maybe the people who cooks these food add more oil which is not good for health ! try to talking to them to add less oil in your food !!.<br/><br/>* Don't expect perfect and absolute quality since you are eating foods which are very moderate price !!.

I tried most of the Biriyani shops in Chennai , I have finally decided to eat here always whenever I feel like having Biriyani with my friends. One disappointment is that they don't serve parotas. Improvise that , you will be number one :)
Praveen Raj
Located in saidapet and west mambalam junction. This is restaurant is a one good example that Ambience is nothing but everything lies in food taste. Really cluttered Ambience. Always in waiting. Food taste is really rich. Staffs are so courteous. Kesari is must try.
Moorthy Chandran
Very poor service and they don't care of customers. Very Rude attitude. More over the taste has gone bad now a days. Restaurants, Hospitals, Hotels are to serve customers and not to treat them like slaves. Government should cancels the license for these type of restaurants like what they do in other countries.
Harish Palaniappan
Umm. When you're very hungry and you decide to have biriyani and you're okay with something less tastier than aasife but your main priority is the quantity , then Rahman Biriyani is the place for it.<br/>They serve seriously a large quantity of biriyani which by the way is also tastier and delicious . Might be a one point lesser than aasife if it comes to the taste.<br/>Parking isn't a problem but there is absolutely no space to move around. The dining hall is cramped.<br/>They've mini dishes which is of great help when people decide to taste a various dishes or dine alone.
Wasiyur Rahaman Shariff
We ordered a bucket Briyani by the evening . The Briyani delivery was swift and the packing was good compared to other Briyani joints.. The quantity of the Briyani and the mutton pieces were good as a compliment chicken 65 and bread halwa(sweet changes to kesari also at times) was given the Briyani was OK and the quality of rice was good.. So overall it was VFM

We visited this restaurant for lunch, the ambiance was fine. they had waiting area in the hall. As soon as we entered, the staffs were not clear and asked us to wait for few mins, but simultaneously the other staff said to get in since there were table. Out of confused mind, we headed to a corner and last room where they had four tables. Their service time was slow, we had to wait to someone to serve us the water first, and then they did offer a complimentary sweet which was a good gesture. <br/><br/>We were 4, we ordered 2 veg biryani and 2 mutton biryani with starters chilly chicken and Gobi 65. The quality of the food was nice, everything tasted good. I could sense they made perfect dum biryani ( smoky smell was sensed). My non veg friends were slightly depressed due to high service time and they said they had tasted better biryani elsewhere. <br/><br/>On the wallet it costed about 800+ including 2% for card charges, which was slightly on the over priced side. But otherwise, the food and the price was ok. There was little difficult in communicating with staffs since they were not knowing local language. The staffs were in uniform and all well groomed and well maintained hygiene.
Palaniappan Senthilnathan
Once you enter the restaurant you are greeted with a broad smile by the North Indian waiters and chefs. The surprise awaits. It kicks in later when you realise that the briyani you just tasted was exquisite. The sweet that you are given as a starter is very different in taste, while some might like it others don't. The quantity of food at the rates they offer is just another positive about the hotel.
Gundu Paiyyan!
This place is right on the main road so very easy to locate and parking shouldn't b much of a problem<br/>Visited here for a friend's treat and they had an offer of unlimited kalyanam style biriyani do jumped for it<br/>It was a combo of kesari+chicken biryani+coke only the biriyani being unlimited<br/>The taste was not great enough to wow you but not bad that will taste like tomato rice like it does in many other chains<br/>Their grilled chicken on the other was good doing justice to the Arabian style<br/>Overall can be visited once<br/>Ambience : Nice <br/>Service : very prompt<br/>Taste : thalapakattu on steroids

After a long drive in drizzling rain reached this super duper hotel for dinner.<br/>This would be the best dine out i ever had. Tandoori chicken was really out of the world that i ve ever tasted anywher. The second good thing to quote was serving. only miserable thing was the ambiance. Restaurant was too small and is fully equipped with tables. In other case its a place where a foodie can savor the food.

Today i went to rahman briyani ordered rahman spl briyani full oily and roasted mutton pieces are very hard its like previous day mutton as well as credit card charges 2% extra. I think i wasted my money.

Have been here a couple of times<br/>Pros<br/>a. Taking Order and delivery  turnaround time is quick. Generally Quick service<br/>b. For Home Delivery - Packaging is of convenience<br/>c. Convenience is strong USP for this outlet<br/><br/>Cons<br/>a. Biryani is not tasteful. Has a very different smell when compared to other biriyanis. <br/>b. Can get smell of Cooking Oil which is of very low quantity in all dishes including biriyani<br/>c. Meat is overcooked at most of the times<br/><br/>Overall, good outlet for only people who want quick bite and not concerned about taste n all. Food Lovers stay away!!

Found a safety pin in the biryani and the syaff don't take it serious (Rahman biryani Sriperumbudur outlet). They just offered another biryani and we're so cool about it.

Hello foodies 😀😃😄 <br/>Had a good and fun time today at rahman biriyani restaurant in West mambalam. Me, my buddy Arjun and thousif came here for sunday dinner(26/july). Mutton biriyani was sold out :( so sad 😢. So we ordered for chicken biriyani, prawn biriyani, fish biriyani, kushka and chicken 65.. Raitha and brinjal gravy was yummyy😋 chicken 65 good.<br/>All the biriyani's were good. Fish biriyani is waste of money no fish pieces at all 😢😡 prawn and chicken no complaints. But the biriyani's were a bit oily 😐 :/ and was not hot at all. It was just warm. Taste was just ok nothing great. Quantity is fine. Aroma was fine.<br/>Over all- worth a try. Not so great biriyani but not very bad, good biriyani for the price 😋😀<br/>Taste- 3/5<br/>Quantity- 3.5/5<br/>Quality- 3/5<br/>Value for money- 3.5/5<br/>

Hello dear foodies.<br/>This is the place which I visited yesterday afternoon after my busy schedule of work. When I passing by west mambalam I saw this place. And I stopped my car thought of checking into this hotel. And finally I made up my decision and got into rahman Briyani hotel.!!!!!<br/>First thing you will notice when you enter this hotel. Is that all the waiters are nepalees both guys and gals it was very weired suddenly I was confused whether have we entered into a Chinese restaurant but anyway it's a good thing. hotel management is thinking different about servicing to the customers..<br/>Food: me and my friend had one mutton Briyani and chicken Briyani and one mutton chukka.. All these three dishes were good. But mutton chukka was made up with some fried cashew nuts. I don't like tht food style.coz (namaku tamizh nadu style thaan pudikum) other than this everything was good.<br/>Service: the service was good... And both men and women waiters were very perfect in customer service. one funny thing happened at the last wen I ordered for a fresh lime I called up the Nepal waiter gal I said my order in English. But finally she replied in tamil (oru lime juice huh sir. Lol) :) :)<br/>Finally line : this place is the perfect place for Briyani.. You don't have to shell out ur wallet and go to ambur...<br/>Namma chennailiyae alot of rahman Briyani branches are there.<br/>Thank you

Whenever I remember biryani, this place pops up in my mind. Whenever I crave for biryani this is my go to place. One of the best biryanis in town and most importantly u get full to the brim. They have an unlimited biryani deal 3 days a week but that's totally not needed as the normal one will blow ur stomach away as well as ur taste buds. They have mini starters in the price range of 60 to 80 bucks which is very helpful. And service is also amazing. I should say some very well trained staff. A must visit for all biryani lovers.

Good and quick service, Food tastes Good. I usually take away food. My fav here is Mutton noodles. And the biriyani here is awesome. We ordered a mutton bucket biriyani recently  which was good enough for 10 ppl.. the picing is neither cheap nor costly. surely affordable for college goers. And the Schezwan chicken rice was surely top notch.. Good packing of food.

This is my first time order. The pricing is decent. I ordered for a Biryani, a full grill and two chocolate faludaa. Taste of biryani was good. If they would have delivered in a short period of time from the time of order I am sure the biryani would have tasted even more delicious.

One of nightmare i had was ordering home delivery for Rahman.<br/>It took 3hrs to deliver food to customers. We ordered our food by 11.30 am and received by 2.15 pm. The delivery man keep telling he is coming whenever we for over than 2 hrs.<br/>We ordered fish, chicken biriyani, naan, grill chicken and butter chicken gravy. <br/>Hence we lost our hunger we were in no interest to taste. Anyhow we got the delivery. Quantity was good ( a  biriyani can be shared by two person) and quality was average. Grill chicken was more on hot side. butter chicken was the shocking they just added grilled chicken pieces in gravy it was terrible. Naan was hard and took a long time to chew. <br/><br/>Overall Rahman biriyani has lost its MOJO.
Sundar
Biriyani is decent. Not the best, I have tasted. Their complimentary sweet is poor. To pay by credit card, you will be charged additional 2% of your bill amount.

Was searching for a good non veg restaurent in an around west mambalam. Later came to know it is the orthodox brahmin area of chennai. Then found this restaurant using zomato, went there ordered a budget biriyani and a barbeque it tasted awesome. Service was excellent. No waiting and no extra charges. Loved the sweet they provided as a compliment. Overall best place to eat briyani

We visit here for friend's birthday treat. This is classified under brilliant biryani's and it keeps the name. The quantity of biryani is more than other restaurants. An outlet to visit once.<br/>

This restaurant is classified under Brilliant Biriyanis. So visited this place for a Saturday lunch. All the tables were occupied, we had to wait for few minutes. Once we got the table, we were served with complementary sweet n drink! We ordered Biryani and Tandoori Chicken. Service was very swift. I'm impressed by the kind of service they offer. Bloody aasife brothers, Anjapper, Ponnusamy, Velu Military, etc have to learn from these people. The place may seem a bit congested but that's alright. It is worth a try.

Bad ....don't try...not worth the money. .The rates are like thalapakatti but the taste is really bad ..we got mutton biryani..The taste was not good..No flavour in the rice at all... chicken lollipop was badly made...it was almost roasted to black colour.. looks like they don't use fresh oil..bad experience. ..won't recommend. ..not worth the money. .

Made a Sunday night dinner plan with cousin and uncle and it had to be in our neighbourhood. My uncle was in a mood for biryanis and this made us zero down on Rahman Biryani (a biryani joint close to home and that has been on my to-do-biryanis list). <br/><br/>Location:<br/>Every time I saw this restaurant's listing on zomato I used to be wonder- how could a flourishing biryani joint operate in an orthodox vegetarian neighbourhood like West Mambalam. <br/><br/>Got my answer today- the restaurant is tucked away from core of this neighbourhood and is at an intersection points of sorts between Saidapet- Ashok Nagar and West Mambalam. <br/><br/>That makes it easily accessible.<br/><br/>Ambience: (2/5)<br/>The footfall seemed overwhelming and it was evident from the number of people waiting for take away's and dine-in. The dining area was very cramped and one has to negotiate his way to the tables with difficulty. <br/><br/>The hygiene could be improved as well. <br/><br/>Service: (5/5)<br/>Despite the cramped spacing the staff did a job. The service and refills were timely and what impressed me the most was when a senior level staff helped the cleaner boy clear the banana leaves after our meal. Good team work- keep that going! <br/><br/>Food: (3/5)<br/>We were served a dry vermicelli based sweet to start with. The food was served on banana leaves and our included the following dishes:<br/><br/>1. Half barbecue chicken<br/>The chicken though oily tasted good. It was served with fresh mayonnaise and sliced cucumber. <br/><br/>2. Spl chicken biryani<br/>3. Spl mutton biryani<br/>The biryani rice again was oily but it tasted great. There was hardly 4/5 small pieces and this is a stark contrast to the special chicken biryani I have had at other popular joints.<br/><br/>The boneless mutton pieces were tough and definitely harder than it should have been. The chicken pieces were relatively better, but still a good mile off the benchmark. <br/><br/>Accompaniments included onion raita and brinjal gravy. The raita was inconsistent in salt levels and the brinjal gravy tasted good. <br/><br/>Would I revisit?<br/>I might take-away but not revisit.

I hav crossed dis place bt never noticed it..came across dis in zomato and tried it by gettin parcels..so i am writing dis review based on wat v ordered and ate..v got chick, mutton and prawn biriyani's along with finger fish..frst thing wat v all got surprised was the rate-quantity factor..i hav never seen so much of biriyani fr a standard price for it..also in parcels they hav packed it damn neat in good boxes(not paper sqaure ones) and the side dishes for it in a separate small containers..next the taste..man it was yummy and super and it doesnt need any raita r anything to taste with..u can jus keep on eating jus the biriyani itself..i hav tasted such thing only in hyderabad..mutton and chick was good wen compared to prawns as it was spoiled with the addition of more of coriander leaves..yummy biriyani which was more dan wat v xpected so dat v ate d rest again in the nite too..!! ??<br/><br/>PS:the takeaways came with one kesari wit each biriyani and yes the biriyanis had egg also in it..!!

Typical moghul biryani.... have a try... chicken and mutton biryanis stand out of the lot. Nice ambience. Only discomfort is that the attenders not knowing the local language.

The Biryani here has satisfied me and my buddies. We usually take away for a quick biryani lunch at office. The quality of packing, the quantity of biryani and the amazing taste will keep us getting take aways. First place which comes to my mind for biryani is A R Rahman Biryani. Aasife n brothers did not quite impress me as this did. I don't think the restaurant offers good ambiance for couples or family. The rating I give is purely for their biryani and quick service at the take away counter.

This Place is over hyped. Went there with friends, it was full and people were actually waiting outside like railway station to get in. After 15 min we got in. We ordered Biryani and Chick 65. Biryani was a total disappointment. Local Biryani is far better than this. We all decided not to come back ever.

Went with high expectation but briyani was not up to the mark
