Review Anjappar Chettinad A/c Restaurant - Chennai (Madras)

Place gets a B- from me. The house’s special chicken was delicious and the chapatti were also quite tasty. Nothing eye opening but very good. Definitely a bit overpriced

It's good restaurant to dine in and service was good enough to handle people .. But quantity was so less never expected that and biryani was so mild in taste and even in washroom no water was coming from tap to wash hands .. Rest its ok to go in urgent

Was searching for some continental lunch since we couldn't find any we had to go here. Due to covid only 50%occupancy was available and it was followed strictly. I was the only one who dined in at 12 pm may be thats why it was fresh and tasty am not sure. The food was good. Apart from other locations this one was far better in taste and service as well.

Went here for dinner. Ordered mutton biriyani taste was ok but quantity is very low. But there service was excellent and were very responsive.

The food here in really good like most of their other outlets. Service was fine too. Ambience could be improved with some pleasant decorations that can give the customers a pleasing first impression. If you love food but don't mind about the atmosphere then ur welcome here!

I had crab 🦀dish and it was awesome, I took my sweet time to finish it and the staff was very patient about it, I loved the dish and the ambience is good too and the price is less than 300 which is great.

I ordered ANJAPPAR SPECIAL MEALS FULL - "SERVES 2" and PAID for SERVING 2 - BUT RECEIVED "ONLY LITTLE QUANTITY" - SERVING ONLY for 1 PERSON - WORST !

Not worth the price!<br/>Prawn was not cooked well.<br/>Vanjaram Fish was not fresh and the peice is not worth the price.<br/>Mutton biryani was Ok<br/>Chilli chicken, so much of color added. We can see stain in hand. <br/>Such an authentic restaurant we prefer hygiene and food safety. Waste !<br/>

Ordered via zomoto, almost an hour to prepare, ideally they bring orders from outside and serve , they dont even cancel the order, have to suffer 1-2 hours.

Please remember what they advertise is not what you get the quantity is too minimum and not worth the price there are better restaurants out there <br/>I have got the Briyani in small square shaped sweet box package please don’t get cheated chicken meat was not fresh<br/>

What did we order?<br/><br/>Prawns Biryani <br/>Parotta<br/>Nattu Kozhi Gravy<br/><br/>Firstly, I was blown off by their service and ambiance. Restaurant is neat. The air conditioner was functioning to its fullest capacity. It is bang on the main road but with limited space when it comes to parking.<br/><br/>Coming to the food.<br/><br/>Parotta was cooked well. It wasn’t fluffy but at the same time, the taste was intact. Just one disadvantage is that, they did not give any side dish for this and hence we had to order Nattu Kozhi gravy.<br/><br/>The gravy was real spicy. It had a nice fragrance & colour. Nattu Kozhi was cooked well. Usually it will be hard, otherwise. It blended well with Parotta.<br/><br/>Prawns Biryani was equally awesome. The prawns are kept in the bottom. They are big ones(queen size, I suppose) and were 5-7 pieces. Loved its aroma & texture.<br/><br/>The taste stayed in my tongue for good few hours.

I went here for a lunch date . I am a fan of Anjappar and I have tried their other outlers as well. So with the same mindset I walked in to this branch as well. The ambience was good I have no complaints . However the reason I am truly giving this place a 1 star is because of the food. We ordered nonveg thali, and all the 5 curries sitting at our table had the same taste ! There was absolutely no difference between the curries !!The fish fry was decent that's it .. the staff were staring and wouldn't let us leave the table to start cleaning it. One cleaner almost flipped the bill book at my fiance's face.<br/><br/>Food: 1/5<br/>Service: 2/5<br/>Ambience: 4/5

We came 4 days before evening 5o clk ordered muttun briyani and chicken masala very tasty & yummy ..... Restaurant musics are peaceful ...Love the restaurant we visit once again also....

Went to this restaurant with my daughter and have ordered few items and we received it fast and we're the only ones as it was the early evening for dinner. Slowly it got filled up before we finished the dinner. The food tasted good.

Im trying my best to be courteous on this review,tbh today's(23/05/2018) lunch was ordered from anjappar kilpauk branch i wud say rather this turned out to be a total disaster,honestly guys if you cant live up to the expectation.shut down!<br/>Biryani combo as per your menu comes with sweet<br/><br/>1.Wer is the sweet in my order??<br/>2.in a six packs mutton biryani we received 4 eggs<br/>3.gravy was not enough (when we order a bucket briyani u guys brought us 6 packs )of box biryani and u expect us to manage with that small gravy???<br/>4.food was cold as ice! The ambience is Ok. The food quality is very poor. Doesn't take soo good like other outlets. And sorry to say this people keep starring at you when you eat. 😑

Visited here after a long time with high expectations but the result was like naah who would come here again. I ordered fish briyani, prawn fry and crab lollipop. Highly disappointed with the quantity and the cost 😑 fish briyani - was little bit satisfying.<br/>Prawn fry - was good but disappointment is the quantity. Small prawns were used.<br/>Crab lollipop - highly disappointed. Didn't have any flavor in it. Never ever try crab lollipop here..<br/>One happy thing is that they serve in banana leaf.

Totally a worst food which I got delivered from anjappar. No taste and quality. I complained the same to zomato and their revert is excellent but lost is mine. Zomato's service is good but don't choose anjappar.

Worst Service And Negligence !<br/><br/>We went as a family , it took almost 20 mins for them to serve the water . The crab lollipop was not cooked properly it was half baked . Mutton kola balls were over cooked almost it was black in colour . Wen asked about it nobody were responsible enough to give response .. <br/><br/>Very Bad service

Whenever I hear the word biriyani i always think anjappar !!!!.this is a best place where u can have best biriyani!!.my favorite include chicken lollipop,fish finger,fish fry , mutton biriyani and few of their speciality dishes and spl mention would be their falooda

Love for biriyani excerpted from this. The best quality and quantity of biriyani you can have for the cost. Place that has a.c. during the hot afternoons also the must try tag belongs to this place also have the kushka and chicken pagoda and the serve best of the gulfi Floooda.love it.( Service out standing)

The food was very average !! The service was overwhelmingly bad ! The quality and quantity of the food was very bad ! The thing which was high was the price !! Spoiled a nice evening arguing with the waiter !

I have been eating at Anjappar since I was 6. Had the worst experience at Kilpauk Anjappar last week when I ordered home. <br/>My mother had ordered chettinad fish masala which smelt different and we found egg in it. It also had no fish but old chicken pieces. When I took it to their restuarant, the man in the counter tells me they put egg in chettinad masala and I asked him about the chicken, which he just ignored and told me that, it was how it was made.<br/>Very bad service and horrible food.

Throroughly unprofessional staffs .. mix up phone orders on a routine basis.. being made to wait for long time.. but the food is ok.. needs big improvement<br/>

It is very bad experience for me. I have ordered chicken Biryani and prawns Biryani but they gave mixed Biryani where you can find almost all pieces e.g. Mutton, chicken, rabbit, etc. and when call back for the same restaurant guys are very rude. As per them, they will prepare only mutton Biryani, as per requirement they will add additional items which is not at all acceptable.<br/><br/>People be careful when ordering especially when door delivery.

Sir i ordered the non veg lunch we know that anjappar makes good non eg meals so we ordered non veg meals after when we reach home we noticed that we got a veg meals which tasted horrible so we went again and asked so they gave non veg meals but they did not even apologize for their mistake we felt very trrible

Went here for lunch and my husband loved their meals. The parattas I ordered too were good and worth the money.<br/>The fish, chicken and mutton gravy served with meals was tasty not too spicy and just relax right. The mutton chukka was good .. On whole a decent place with tasty food..<br/>Would have rated a 4 but for the car park facilities. The restaurant can hold a max of 2 four wheelers so of you are planning to go here either take a cab or travel by a two wheeler!!

Had the worst experience ever ordering food, estimated time of delivery was 1 hour and it got delivered after 3 hours..! Just don't order in this restaurant.. Food wasn't that good and they're over priced for their quality..! Never would recommend this restaurant to anyone..!

Had food @ anjappar after a long time..food tastes average. It used to be really good when the restaurant started their business, sadly now the food taste s not good . need a lot of improvement!! Nethily fry was just dry nethily fish fried in batter & served. Overall..needs improvement in taste & quality!!!! :(

The food is absolutely delicious over here. Hailing from Madurai, the taste was present in their cuisine and it was really mouth watering. The chicken 65 and the prawn masala is a must try out. Not to forget the barottas. Apart from the food, the service is quite bad. Nobody listens properly to the customer's heeds and they are extremely lazy. Other than that, it's a good restaurant. Perfect place for homely food.

Strict strict NO for vegetarians. Not that I was not aware its known for chettinad Non veg food but after having experienced their awesome super spicy Drum stick soup and Appam with Veg stew in Dubai, when I got a chance to visit Chennai planned to dig in. They didn't had anything what I wanted above. Even they Milaguthani soup (lentil) was non veg. Neither had veg kurma nor even egg curry so at least side with Appam. Finally had to just order Tomato soup n Egg kothu paratha. Horrible is the only word. All notion I carried from Dubai experience drained down. Egg parotha had a chicken bone in it, ass.... Since was with family quietly walked out just never to attempt Anjappar in India ever again :(

Felt terribly hungry. Couldn't take it anymore and went to this place. Anjappar used to be one of the best non veg restaurants with amazingly tasty fresh food and apparently that was in the past. Since my dinner was not at all satisfactory this is gona be a short review. <br/>1) Chicken 65 - directly fried frozen chicken pieces. Taste - below average <br/><br/>2) Finger fish - deep fried with a mild taste of sweetness served with mayo. Taste - alright (used to be their best dish) <br/><br/>3) Kaadai Roast - Pan fried with onions and masala. Taste - okayish. <br/><br/>4) Mutton Biryani - don't even ask. <br/>Taste - total disappointment. <br/><br/>VFM - just like their taste.

Could improve home deliveries and the taste .<br/>Their soups are good . and their chettinad dishes are good too . I have ordered more home deliveries from them , than dining directly.

I went to Anjappar for lunch. Tried out Biriyani and regular meals. Biriyani turned out to be good but the meals were poor. Hardly any curry was given and also no sweet dish to accompany. Overall you can consider it a quick choice for lunch or dinner when you're around there.

Decent food. Quick service. Helpful service staff. But sometimes very loud. Daily specials can be avoided as they are usually overpriced. Biryanis are good.

Was planning to visit a restaurant next door but by chance ended up here. Since I was not too hungry I decided to limit myself to a starter - Vajaram fry. <br/><br/>Pricing <br/>Considering the size of the slice, I would consider it as expensive. Though its themed in similar fashion to their other outlets-you kinda feel cramped in this outlet. <br/><br/>Service<br/>No complaints about the service. <br/><br/>Food<br/>The vajaram fish lacked the crispiness from the frying pan and was kinda moist. It was flavoured well with chettinad spices and tasted ok. <br/><br/>My friend who ordered a veg meals seemed to enjoy the kara kozhambu and personally I liked the appalam (thats an unusual thing to like).

I guess I can only enjoy my food after finding a pretty gud car parking spot ,so I no longer hafta worry abt it being towed away. Well I did not find one and had to walk all the way to this restaurant. Ordered mutton biryani and chicken sides. I wish it was more on the spiced up edge. Its an ok place and the service was pretty quick enuf fa me maybe cuz I was by myself and the place happened to be less crowded. Overall I felt it was ok and similar to. T.Nagar, when compared to the Anna Nagar outlet, where I was served hot food and got a car parking- but did not enjoy the taste and consistency of the food.

I had to cme here for an parcel.. The parcel took a hell lot of time to reach.. and the food was very below par.. ! the ambiance was good.. !! the parking space and the crowd management is totally awful . Kindly improve

So we went in and ordered mutton briyani prawn briyani and nethili fry..actually i craved for nethili that noon..but when it arrived i was little disappointed..the fish were so smalll and the preparation was average..a little oily!..overall a ok dish..<br/>Briyanis were good taste wise..but the texture was nt very good...the rice was mashed a bit....prawn briyani had some kinda prawns in gravy which was put into the kuska..but the prawns tasted good...<br/>Finished with traditional bananas served as a compliment..overall i would say its a good restaurant to visit..bt definitely not d best..i regretted for not goi paramount...in that surrounding i think this needs to improve a lot..

It is newly opened branch in kilpauk! Very good service, taste as usual good and little less on price when compare to other branches am not sure why their is change in it!

Worst Service !!!<br/>They made me wait up to 1hr for a single chicken biriyani, they are not really very busy but acting like they are busy at work.<br/>Very worst experience !!!

Got home delivery from this outlet. All the dishes were simply yummy and delicious. Would like to go order again from here! Loved pepper chicken and veg briyani too the core.
