Great place. Location is perfect as it's near to everything one might need for a short stay. Service is amazing and each and every staff is very helpful and polite. Commuting is easy from there as well. Food is nice except for the chicken items. Mishwar the in-house restaurant has some good food on the menu. One should always try the squid dishes as well as the sheek kabab.

We had lychee milkshake with strawberry boba and mango milkshake with blueberry jelly. Good combination and taste really nice. A drink with tummy full feel. Good ambience and Cha republic replaced by bubble xo in mahalingapuram, Nungambakkam.

We went to this place out of inquisitiveness - what’s that bubble tea? Place looks great from outside but as we entered the first thing I noticed is how shabby and ill maintained it was. Looks like they haven’t cleaned the walls, floors or glass for weeks. There was dirt, ants, insects everywhere. Behind the counter looked like a store room. Used tissues on the floor, dirty doors and carton boxes.
Regarding the drink - nothing great and expensive. I paid around Rs 400 for around 400 ml drink with 50% ice and some syrup. I don’t mind paying for something that’s worth and this wasn’t one.

My sisters and I love love love the honey due melon tea from the milk tea series ... It is so refreshing and jus amazing .. I really can't describe much really .. it's jus our all time love ... But unfortunately.. they don't seem to stock up on the Honey due flavour .. we really miss it .. kindly do stock up ..!

The finest outlet to quench your bubble tea thirst.
My most favourite one is the cranberry chiller though I don’t mind giving it up for the Hong Kong Pearl Milk Tea.
Drinks - 5/5
Service - 5/5
Ambience - 3/5
Pricing - It is a little too expensive for an after meal drink but you’d find it reasonable for the original bubble tea feel.

Very inexperienced staff. Couldn’t get my order right. I’ve been to this place earlier. Please make sure the person has proper knowledge and is aware of the ratio before mixing .

Rude customer service. Made us wait for an hour and still wasnt able to provide us the correct order. Might as well shut down his shop than give such bad service.

Cha republic is an amazing place if u want to have good Thai based boba drinks.
I have tried almost all of the flavours.
The best ones are
1.Strawberry shake with strawberry bobas
2.Lychee shake
3.Honey Dew with pearls

You should try mixing different contrasting combinations to enjoy the authentic taste of the drinks.

The place is a bit small. But for the quality of the drinks, it’s worth it.

Great place to just sit and hangout with your friends, the bubble tea here tastes really good. The chocolate blend series here is a must try.

Taro with Oreo sprinkles - yumm! Courteous staff. Not much of a place to relax and drink but still it's awesome bubble tea!
Please keep places like these going.

Good range of bubble teas and drinks.. but its a little disappointing that few of the products are unavailable especially the classic hong kong pearl tea.. can add more matcha flavoured drinks.. good variety of toppings though!

Something different to the tongues sick of the usual milkshakes and mocktails but it might not be everyone's cup of tea.
It might be a good idea to try all the bubble flavours prior to ordering though.

Awesome bubble tea, and pretty good with pearls and bursting bubbles. Amazing flavours and pocket friendly. Very cooperative staff. A must visit place.

Experimenting with the drinks; sounds trendy and of course it tasted luscious. I went down to this place with my friends twice the times and we had quite a lotta fun in here chit-chatting about every possible thing. Ya! It is a good place to hang out with friends. And the drinks are tasty which gave me a tough time deciding on what to have. Oh right the bubbles, it looks really trendy but I wonder does it really have a taste? Guess it would be good if it did. Although I appreciate the idea.
So the ambience is pretty cool. Man! I love this place. Though it is small enough to check in but the arrangements are neat. Or should I phrase it as the title says "Cha gaya Bhai" 😋
me and my friend visited this place. It was a first time experience for me. But my friend has some previous experience. The service boy came to me he greeted and explained about the shop and explained each and every drink. it impressed me a lot. i choosed CHOCO BERRY BLEND. But the shop keeper rejected mine and he himself suggested since i am visiting for the first time. He came up with a watermelon bend with grapes. i said ok go ahead. watermelon blend came and i tasted.

Taste - 4/5

Quality - 4/5

Ambience - 3/5

Service - 4.5/5

Value for money - 4/5

Bubble tea is an amazing way to kill the summer heat .We tried their Watermelon flavour from the signature Tea Series , it tasted so good the watermelon flavor was just so fresh and unique in its own way. We also tried Chocoberry from the Blend Series, its thick consistency with the tangy infusion of blueberry pearls made it complete and tasted just Amazing..!!
Highly recommend, go find your own flavour..!!
I miss the branch that used be to in chetpet as it was really close to my school, I've been to this branch too. They serve one of the best bubble teas in town - a must try for all the tea lovers and all the non tea lovers too as they taste way different from any normal tea.

Tiny place, big on taste!
I tried the Mango Shake, with Bubbles of course (all their drinks include bubbles) and it was perfectly chilled and super delicious !
Quick service, and high on the hygiene scale.
Choose your beverage of choice, and walk away with it, this place is too tiny sit in.

A trend that's yet to take off in chennai as it has among Asians in Australia, Singapore, Thailand. Their flavoured teas are refreshing in the middle of a hot summer, kinda missed them after my trip to Oz. Was delighted to see them in Phoenix and EA(where it was HORRIBLE with local vendors not knowing the right mix of ingredients, unlike Phoenix.. No wonder they closed down) If you are new to Cha and absolutely clueless about what to order , order for the no brainer, taro milk with pearls , or strawberry/passion fruit/litchi fru tea with pearls.👍Cha Republic is a global brand... And it's bound to succeed in chennai .. But unfortunately local chennai vendors need to take a course in "mixology" .. And Haddows road branch is a FAILURE. 😫try ordering strawberry fru-tea from Phoenix and then here.. And then feel the difference.. Don't take my word for it.

A place which is dedicated to this new type of Tea. Chennai is a place which is filled with tea lovers, alas for the fact that those population is money conscious. But, this new concept of Hong Kong Bubbles in your Malaysian tea intrigues you to try it, once atleast.

Located opposite to MCC school and in the other portion of CHA Republic, has a good view from road and nearby schools. Has got parking of platform and road.

Ordered a Tiramisu and Coffee bubble tea. I was surprised to see both flavors on menu and chose purely to experiment. Added Pearls to the coffee one. Tiramisu was great, with ice and once it melts, it gets bad. Samething goes for Coffee. It loosens up after ice melts.

It is pretty much a self service. And, prices are tad higher, but for the new beverage experience, you can try once.

It was a great ambience to spend time with ur lovable one.Bubble tea tastes like a heaven there!! I ordered oreo bubble from milk shake series
Later mango with mixed jellies. Both had there perfect blend and texture. But very small place to sit!

Had this place on my mind for a long time as i see the outlet everytime i cross Harrington road. Roaming around after a heavy dinner, We felt thirsty and i thought this place will quench our thirst.

The menu was simple and we did not want to try shakes. So we ordered Cfrom the chiller series. Cranberry was okay and haney dew was good too. Passion fruit iced tea tasted great.

A small outlet suitable for take away and pricing is okay for the size they give.

Visited this place so satisfy my thirst. Got myself their lychee tea from the fruit series. And I really enjoyed it. But the place looks too small to sit and relax. But I was totally happy with my drink.

Had bubble tea in US... It was tasting yummy there.... Coming to this place the ambience was OK...two people were chatting so lound sitting in a corner which was quite annoying....place is too tiny and awufull seats... My three year old refused to sit on it...coming to the drink...ordered Hong Kong tea with black pearls which was just cold tea.nothing special in it...too sweet too... I ordered Oreo based tirsmisu shake with coffee jelly... Jelly tasted better than the drink...it was a usual milk shake with Oreo and coffee .don't know why on earth they named tiramisu...400 bucks for two ordinary teas is not much worth....wouldn't recommend this place....😞

My all time favourite bubble tea spot !🔫
I recommend not to dine in there , just bcoz very small area in all their branches Drawback about cha is their space ! It is too small , so people who come to hangout with bubble will not be satisfied by the comfort for it ! Otherwise I love all those flavours ! Everyone must try all the flavours

Tasty.. But diabetics better keep away... Even the no sugar version was very sweet. For everyone else a good place to chill on a hot day....

Felt nice to have bubble tea with great toppings...flavours are amazing and very refreshing for a hot summer day.. the only catch behind whole idea is its way too expensive... Almost 200 per serving which is quite high....must try.

Cha republic is a tea place actually which is very different... It's some kind of Malaysian bubble tea... New to this entire thing I had no clue what to get so asked the guy at the shop to give me what was best... He suggested hongkong milk bubble tea with black pearls toppings (this is made of sweet potato, cassava root and brown sugar), it tasted sumthing like iced tea with these little pearls in it... my friend choose a passionfruit tea, which was a passion fruit flavour infused in jasmine green tea... It's sumthing different, refreshing too... Worth a try once...
Poojitha Johnraj
It was okay! They had many flavours! But I ordered cranberry which actually didn't go well. Wanted to taste the bubble tea but I felt like it was some other tea :P

Nice little place to hang out... Had Hong Kong tea and litchie in milk category. .. They have small, medium and large cup categories.... Taste is unique and good.... They included pearl black as add on to the Hong Kong tea.... It was chewy and added more taste to milk tea.... Overall good experience and definitely will go there again. . But mind u they have seating capacity of oly 6-8 people. .. It's better to have take away....

This place opened up months ago right next to my place but I never got around to visiting it. I remember having tried bubble tea long ago at a carnival. I really enjoyed it and was looking forward to trying it again.

Ambience - Tiny place that can seat up to 8 people at the max. The place was well lit and colourful.

Service - the staff didn't seem to know enough as we would have liked about their product. Since bubble tea is a relatively new drink we had a lot of questions which he couldn't seem to answer. However, he tried to explain to the best of his knowledge

Bubble tea - There were so many different varieties of Bubble tea, making us super confused about what to get. Some didn't have any tea and were merely juices or milkshakes. We avoided those. We ordered one milk based - Hong Kong bubble tea and one juice based - Peach bubble tea. The big board said there were 3 sizes - small, medium and large, but the server said that 'small' is unavailable now and was only for the promotional period. We added toppings based on his suggestion. Coconut for peach tea and black pearl for the Hong Kong tea. The peach bubble tea was a total disappointment. Overly synthetic and a very strong and pungent flavour. The topping was just like little bits of jelly in the mouth. It added no flavour for me. The Hong Kong tea was like cold and sweet milk tea which was definitely better than the other one. The black pearls had an interesting texture but no flavour whatsoever.

Pricing - For two medium sized glasses of "bubble tea" we were charged an absolutely unreasonable INR 300.

On the whole it was quite disappointing and we had to practically force ourselves to finish the drinks. I don't recommend it to anybody!

I was happy wen I saw this shop while walking in Harrington Road, so I went inside expecting same taste that I had few years back in Chennai (in Abirami Mall) ,so saw the menu and ordered for peach tea chillers under fruit tea chillers, I was expecting so much Cuz it was too hot outside and I was thirsty but they completely ruined my taste buds...
Cuz they din't tell anything about the green tea that it is not a normal green tea, it's a jasmine flavoured green tea..
So the first sip I had was the last sip I wanted to be... It jus completely ruined my palatte and also the PEACH FLAVOUR...
And I'm not a huge fan of Jasmine perfume, it only gives me headache..
At last I had to throw the drink after sacrificing the drinks and it was waste of money..
The bubble tea caught my imagination when talks about it was doing rounds in the food circle. I had a chance to try it at Cha recently. From outside, one could make out it is a very small place. Luckily when we went, we were the only 2 customers. The place can seat at most 8 customers and I cannot imagine how congested it can get.

We asked lot of questions and took time to order. He explained patiently. There are Chillers, Fruit teas, Shake/Freeze and Milk Teas. I only wanted to sample it, but unfortunately the small variant was not available. So naturally I went with medium size. The bubbles he said will be charged at Rs 40/- extra. I did not mind as I wanted to try it once.

I chose Hong Kong milk tea with bubbles. Wife chose Choco berry with jelly. The HK tea tasted like classic tea but was cold. Though I cannot attach any particular taste with the bubbles it was starchy and chewy. I enjoyed chewing them nevertheless. I could not get the taste of tea in the choco berry, it tasted like milkshake, only to realize later it was not tea, but indeed a milkshake. I was curious to taste choco berry tea. Sigh!

So, the HK tea at Rs 139/- without tax is definitely on the higher side, and add Rs 40/- for bubbles, it is a very expensive drink. The choco berry at Rs 129/- is also expensive and also attracted extra cost for the jelly. Overall, the pricing is on the higher side and it does not help one bit that they do not have small variants.

For me Cha Republic has always meant the branch at Bessie that I've been to a couple of times. Then I realised there was a lot happening behind the scenes and the one at Bessie was renamed as Bubbles. Cha Republic has opened quite a few branches now in city, probably in the franchise model with branches in EA and Phoenix getting some good footfall (as far as what I've seen). This branch at Chetpet is pretty new and looked really swanky. Given below is my take on Cha Republic, Chetpet.

This branch of Cha Republic is located right opposite to MCC school and shares the building space with Pit stop. The road works on Harrington road has made a mess of the tarmac. I'm not really sure about car parking space but during my visits to Costa opposite to Cha, I park it in the adjacent street. Bike parking isn't an issue as there is quite a frontage to park a decent number of two wheelers. Chaa is located on the first floor and the way up the stairs is splashly decorated with wallpapers. The actual shop floor was a shocker as it's very small. It has space for only a handful of people making it very congested.

There was only one person to serve us but I think that suffices the needs for the place. He was really friendly and I liked the informal yet professional style of service. Menu had a nice collection of chillers, shakes, fruit teas and milk teas. I got myself a passion fruit milk tea. One issue I had was, in the other Cha republic (now bubbles), I had the option of mixing all the bubbles and jellies on the same drink but here I was only able to chose one particular flavor. I went with the yogurt filled bubbles. He was kind enough to give a sample of all add ons before letting me select the yogurt flavour. The tea was really good and strong. It was neatly sealed with a plastic sheet on top before being served, so it can be taken away too if required.

The cost of my tea was 150rs including taxes. The cost of a medium sized drink was advertised to be 109rs in the menu but I didn't realise that the bubbles were charged separately. Even if I had the liberty to select a bit of each add ons, the additional 40rs wouldn't have bothered me, but with what happened, I feel it to be on the expensive side of my scale. Plus another sad part was that they've stopped selling the small portions of drinks even though the menu still lists out the price for each drink in S, M and L portions. Overall, it was a mixed experience.

RATINGS BREAK UP:-
Location:- 4/5
Parking:- 3.5/5
Reception:- 3.5/5
Food:- 4/5
Customer Service:- 5/5
Ambience:- 2.5/5
Price:- 3/5

Not much crowded. But certainly a good ambience. We ordered a lemon chiller and a tiramisu snowcap with coffee jelly topping. Both tasted good. The coffee jelly was really good. I also tried their fast selling pearl milk tea, which is basically hongkong milk tea with pearl toppings. These 'pearls' are actually a brown topping shaped like pearls are actually very yummy. The milk tea is good too. Not too pricey. Cleanliness is satisfactory.
