Review Mana Andhra - Chennai

ankita priya
Very good place to enjoy authentic Andhra cuisine. Ordered Nellore chilli chicken and one curry chicken too.. both the items were really tasty and spicy too.. the ambience is pleasent and quiet. I especially liked the decor with jars of red chillies. The staff is also polite. All in all a very good dining experience..

Ordered Chicken Biriyani and lemon chicken. If you are expecting a juicy lemon chicken starter you would be disappointed like me. It was very dry and had the taste of lemon but the dish wasn't great. We we're welcomed with butter milk and then the food was served. Biriyani was good, similar to the biriyani that we get in Amaravathi.

About last night - a rough day - sultry weather! A walk by 🏝 beach 🏖 made us forget the tiredness and we are rejuvenated 😎😇 And then we are hungry searched for some Andhra fare (andhra bhojanam Kosam vetikaamu) Boy it is a meal to remember for ever Rustic ambiance - tholuuubomaaa lataaaa - puppet show pieces that depict Andhra culture and pickle jars around 😘😇 That native decor and naive feel 😇👏I fell in love 😍 Mana Andhra chennai 😇 The best Andhra bhojanam I had in recent times Superlative experience - bhojanam served in silver plate and some flawless palatable 🥘 food They call it manaa bhojanam their in-house special meal , that consists of food plated on plantain leaf over some silver plate n cutlery (this enhanced the experience to a sublime one) First comes pullaaatuuu paired with chutney (pulaaa atuuuu thiniiii chalaaa yelluuuu ayindiii ) Then comes vegetable pulao with perugu pachadii ( curd Raithaa) Then they plate the entire meal - first with palakura Pappu (spinach dal) pappucharuuu (sambhar) ,miriyalaaa rasam (rasam spiced with pepper) We have chinnaullipayaaa pulusu (tangy curry made with small onions) Majjiga pulusuuu (curd chutney made with tadka curry leaves a bit of haldiii and onions) Bendakayaaa pulusu ( bhendi curry made with tamarind paste ) Veyinchina ullipayalu ( fried onions) Vepuduuu ( mix vegetables fry) Kurma ( spicy gravy that goes well with pulav ) Appadam ( papad) Saggubiyyam Payasam made with jaggery ( kheer made with sanudanaa and topped with ghee and dry fruits) At the end comes ghee and steamed rice 😇 They have 4 mandatory accompaniments - veyinchinaaa kandipodii - (gunpowder ), kobbarii karam (roasted peanuts n dry coconut powder), mavidikayaaa pachadiii ( mango pickle) and Andhra maataaa gonguraaaa pachadi ( sorrel leaves pickle ) This is what an apt Andhra meal is ✅ It is a fantastic meal on the whole We loved each and every dish plated ! Will come back for sure Folks in chennai or ones traveling don’t miss this 😇 Bhojanam thinteeee ilaaaa thinaliiii manasukiiii trupthiii santhosham😇

The Food was super. Tasted great. Spicy for someone like me who doesn't eat much spice. Typical Andhra food. Thali is the ideal. A'la Carte is very very expensive. The starters in A'la carte are very pricey and the quantity is very very less. Ofcourse fheh were tasty, but price not worth the quantity they give. Good place for team outings or family outings if u crave for authentic Andhra Food.

Superb food, little pricey but worth every penny. Nellore Chicken is a must. One of the Thalis is served on silver plate.
Harish
The andhra style biriyani and the gravies they serve here are out of this world. The pickles they have kept for display will make you buy them as they are highly tempting. The chicken starters and soups are classic andhra styled and these are not for the faint hearted. The aavakaya biriyani is a must try and not to forget the nellore chilly chicken. The parking here is little crowded due to the nasi & me restaurant present on the top of this place.

Authentic Andhra cuisine! Hands down the best Andhra meals i've had. Even better than the ones i've had in andhra :)

Best Andra meals ever. Simple & neat ambiance. Mainly attracted by the owner - she driectly come to table & taking care. Very rare in current restaurants.

This place is fullll of Andhra specials and being an Andhra guy staying in Chennai was starved to get these stuff. You should try the special chicken biryani they have and this is like heaven in taste. Andhra Kodi fry and Nellore Chilly chicken are pretty awesomely tasteful. People over here are respectful and serving with good smile on face. That is what required for any food lover. Best of the best is bill is not overpriced. Loved this restaurant and willing to go back with family again...

Quite good place. Different types of dishes obviously for the first time I had. Out of those The Brinjal Biriyani and Bilal Kodi Biriyani were Fingerlickin.. You could try with other ones though.. Service was little dull, well would like to suggest to be better. Pricings also are quite high. So for the delightful food get ready to spend some what more.. Happy Food.. 🥳😋😁😁

Awesome Andhra food.... Non veg Meals super worth
Surendar Rajasekaran
We tried the Veg. Meals yesterday and found the quality of food to be good but the cost was slightly on the higher side. They charged ₹651 for the order for 2 Veg. Meals.

Authentic Andhra food. Service is very good.

I've visited this restaurant several times, but today was the worst experience. To begin with, no one attended us, we had to wait several minutes even before we were allotted a table, not that it was that crowded infact they had three tables that weren't occupied. We had to wait for atleast fifteen minutes after getting the table for someone to take our order, staff were lethargic and lazy. Food was good as usual but the quantity had been reduced drastically, I've had food here several times and it hadn't been this bad before. I had to literally wait another twenty minutes for the bill, finally lost my patience and asked the staff for bill, he was like I don't know. Had to finally walk to the bill desk and ask them the bill and pay, even then the staff at billing was lazy and didn't know how to use a food card. Pathetic service and staff, very bad attitude.
Vasanth Subramaniam
We were waiting for more than 1 hour and food was not given and was no response even after asking for several time . Worst service and unruly staff behaviour

There’s something so appetising about seeming that thali with so many katoris... for me it’s mesmerising. For a South Indian food lover like me, it was a heavenly experience. We hardly get any decent Andhra food in Mumbai. So even when it was just a day visit, I had to have an Andhra thali.

2 diff types of veg thali we ordered and both were complete with multiple curries, dal, rasam, sambhar and payasam... everything was so yumm it’s unbelievable. Of course we over ate to the limit.
We also ordered a fish fry which was yum. Kheema balls were a bit vague since I have never had something like this. It was tasty but didn’t go with the thali.

Wish to visit again soon 😋

I’d very costliest lunch with worst taste... The road side or the medium size hotel also serves good Briyani... Here they concentrate only on price of the food not taste of the food.. the quantity is very less what paid for ... I’ve had food in many Andra and all are good compared to Mana Andra.... they served very tasty food also it’s worth for money.... don’t waste your money... I can more than what I’ve paid but for the quantity food not like this....

If you are searching for a authentic Andhra veg meals, here is the perfect place for you to enjoy with your friends and family😃. Their avakkai pickle 💯. Bought 1kg avakkai pickle from them😜. Over all it was a good experience and worth every penny I spent.

We have been hearing Mana Andhra for quiet some time, we wanted to try out some authentic Andhra cusine, so me and friend set out to have lunch on a Sunday afternoon. It didn't take much time to find out in Nugambakkam. The decor is colorful and vibrant. Coming to food we ordered 2 Raju gari bhojanan, one Mirchi bajji & Fish fry.

Mirchi bajji was cut into two, nicely fried & above all was spicy doing justice to name. Raju gari bhojanam, served with Hot Puris & veg pulavo first and other accomopaniments. The Brinjal curry was good and the potato fry was not sticky or oily, good for puris. Fish varities are limited to only Vanjaram. Overall all curries were ok and the experience was nice :)

I will not visit again. I was there with my mum as it was the closest place to the clinic we were visiting. The thali they served contained many bowls 2 of which looked like sambar. And after almost finishing our rice with curd, I asked if they give rasam. Apparently they had forgotten to serve us Sambar and Rasam. It was 310 per Thali and when we asked if they could pack our left out pooris and sambar they refused. They were anyway going to discard them but refused to pack it for us. We didn’t want to argue and left the place. Not worth the money.

Spicy! That's the first thing you need to know about Andhra Food and this restaurant. If you like your food like that it is a good place to go.

The restaurant is decently set up. And variety of food is good.

I really liked my scrumptious non veg thali. I over ate.

The paya soup was tasty too.

The restaurant is good for once in a while. I don't think I can eat this kind of food regularly.
Shefali Thapa
Was very surprised to find a dead baby cockroach in my chicken biryani. I’m a big big fan of the food here, this is the first time this has happened. Don’t think I’ll ever be able to order again from here after this experience. Deeply disappointed.
Sivamurugan K
The best dish you can have is cockroach.. ya you read that correct.. please check pics.. not even a worth a penny ... The food is the worst .. you can eat at an andhra mess for this
Thriyambak J. Kannan
This is hands down one of the best Andhra places for food that I have been to. I have had more than one meal here and not once have I been disappointed. Everyone please go here. Enjoy the food and rub your belly once done.

If you're looking for genuine and flavorful Andhra food, this is the place to head to.
Very few places and people manage to get the right flavor of Andhra Cooking and this is one place that does.
I like the portion sizes served in the Thaali, and the variety too. Typical dishes like Pulusu, Pachadi (Chutney) ,Pappuchaaru (Dal) Vepudu's (fried vegetables) and Podi's.
Service and ambience are both good.
Rad Hesh
Food was enjoyable. Biryani wasn’t up to the mark, it was normal biryani. The starters were tasty 😋

Andhra Meals Kinda day!
Where ? #ManaAndhra!

In the picture: VINDHU BHOJANAM!

Priced at 625, it consists of Kodi Pulao, fish curry, chicken curry, mutton fry, Boiled egg, rasam, sambar, 3 veg curries, unlimited white rice, pooris, Papad, Village pachadi, curd, thalimpu, sweet and ice cream.

I loved the curries, mutton fry & pachadi the best!
It's unlimited, so it's worth only if you are the kinda person that can actually eat them all. I couldn't. For 625, it's totally worth it. The spice and flavour of the food determines the nature of cuisine at times. The flavour makes you feel the place it’s from. The spice can be a bit less as which would make the food more desirable. It’s better to mention to keep the spice low if you are normal eater. The food however makes you feel as though it was home cooked.
Arunya Sumi
A decent enough Andhra Food. As I went with high expectations, the food didn’t satisfy the expectations. Also the seatings are very close to each other. So it didn’t give a fine dining or a family dinner feel.
Kirupa Manoharan
Who says no to traditional andhra cuisine? Yes, if would like to experience the typical andhra menu and then this is the place.. I ordered raju gari bhojanam for the lunch and everything was so delicious.. I lovee their customer service which is worth a mention.. Such a quick service.. Must try for andhra food lovers..
Ram Kumar
The food was disappointing.the dosa was not cooked properly. To top it off all the table and cabinet stands are rusted. Definitely not worth it.
Jaya Chandran
You have to search for a table and there is no staff to guide you. After 5 mins could search for one. Took another 5 mins for staff to identify that we are waiting to give order. Pathetic service, we ordered for 2 Raja bhojanam and 1 thali. It took 25 minutes for them to serve with incomplete dishes
Archana Grover
Went with colleague for lunch and was recommended the non veg thali as the best option as it is unlimited food. On asking for the second helping, was told that the unlimited clause is only for the vegetarian part of the meal- ie, you can get unlimited sambar, rasam or any other vegetarian side dish but can’t have any of the non veg stuff!! Instead of chicken biryani, you will get the biriyani rice with no chicken pieces.
This is not something that was explained while placing the order or when the thali was recommended as the unlimited one!! Neither is the caveat mentioned in the menu. While there was a distinction wrt the cost in the vegetarian thali, I thought that this was priced so high at 635/- for they reason!
The food was good and tasty.. and this was a place that I had been wanting to check out for the longest time!! But I will definitely NOT be back because it shows poor customer service and work ethics!! Not the place that I would give any business neither the one that I would recommend anybody!!
Shiv Kumar
Tried the famous vegetarian meal. Simply superb. One of the best tangy, spicy veg meals in the city. Restaurant interior needs a full revamp. It has lost its beauty. Cleanliness should be improved a lot.
Manikandan Dinesh
Food average, very expensive ,poor air-conditioning when restaurant is crowded, small tables, not worth for such high price they charge.parking difficulty.

Best Andhra food in Chennai.
Good ambience, great place. You can get exact Andhra dishes here. Excellent service. Overall great place to have a lunch.
Ambarish Madhu
Mana Andhra name gives out the cuisine served, it is little tricky to locate at dark hours since signage wasn't sufficiently illuminated ( it is in the basement, shared along with nasi and me)..

Quite a big restaurant with dull lights and enshrined with traditional fitting of pictures and toys and jars filled with chilli which was good if they had a decent customer capacity and get rid of the damp smell...

Service was quick and staff knew the menu and helpful in clarifying provided they take off from their busy schedule of watching TV and gossiping and turn towards their customers....

Orders:
Started off with paya soup, lemon chicken and warangal gunutuka Kodi.. Paya soup was exceptional, lemon chicken and warangal chicken was good but tasted similar

Next order was miryala mamsam vepudu (lamb), royallu iguru (prawn masala), kheema biryani and steam rice..miryala mamsam vepudu and royallu iguru was the best among the orders little spicey, kheema biryani was palatable not worth it...

Ordered super beets beverage which was mix of ingredients but I found to be plain beetroot juice...

P.S :- expensive and spicy... Call it spicy cuisine instead of Andhra since they think Andhra means spicy

We went in for a late dinner on a saturday night. The place was quite empty and the decor looked really confused with random artefacts and installations.
Anyway the food was quite good!
The avakkai biryani was a let down but the vankaya biryani and the guddu dosa were amazing!
If they put in more thought into the decor and improve their upkeep I'm sure they'll see regular patrons in a short time!

The place serves authentic andra style preparations.
It is just below nasi and me , great ambience , friendly staff and fast service.

What to order:

If you like spicy food then call for the :
Warangal guntuca kodi: it is basically chicken 65 and it is spicy. The dish was very good and yumm. Quantity is not very much but can be shared.

Bilal kodi biryani : It is the spicy version of the chicken biryani , only thing is the biryani comes covered in a omelet and the chicken is boneless. The dish was super yumm and was spicy .

Will go back again to try the other items on the menu.
Andra meals tastes average& .. kodi pulsu tastes ordinary... overall nothing special& no authentic taste....... ambience is good .. service is ok .. this is my third visit here .

I’ve been to the land of spices which is completely unplanned and to the surprise it tasted love, and tradition, and spices many spices.
This food is gold and brown, and white, and red
The red is Tandoori chicken and the brown is lentils and spicy ones.
The smooth warmth of a fire and the sweet
tanginess of spices are here.
Boiled eggs swim in their amber masala bath.
I break the crisp roti and dip it in the sauce.
I bite into a pungent herb or tamarind
seed and taste surprise yes!!! taste surprise.
The familiar is here too yet not always so familiar.
Garam masala, coriander, cinnamon all must
have been scooped out of a tin, or bag, or box
and added to the curries by the cook.
And forget to mention cumin and fenugreek
and spinach and it is transformed into these mouth licking dish ......and so am I.
Anoosha Pattabiraman
Seeing the race reviews for this place, we went for lunch on a weekday and found the place infested with cockroaches. However good the food might be, better to avoid this place

Sickness caught by my neck (COLD) 😝 so my hunger palate demanded a spicy trip hence I reached this place and after comfortable seating requested the bearers to suggest a few spicy dishes he did the same and finally we ended up Ordering both veg meals and non veg meals here in mana Andhra .
Along with that paya soup , spicy prawns too were ordered . And my god , THIS PLACE IS REALLY WORTH IT. Paya soup instantly cleared my throat and also the taste 🙌🏼👌🏻 The prawns I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT 😘😘 This place is thumbs up for both my expectations , the crave and ever loving fondness that I’ve for spicy food ❤️❤️❤️😍👌🏻 the biryani in the meals , fish fry and all the curries in both veg and non veg was really damn yummm 💖🤘🏻 biryani was so succulent and tasty nd it felt lik my home made styles ❤️ And, incase if u r stuck with wat to order getting confused with the menu u see jus like me 😝 order the meals and I’m sure u will love it to bits 😅😅 And , I really can’t wait to come back . 💯 And , whatever I had here literally felt me homes 😅 #HappyTummy ☺️💞

Mana Andhra!.. Went with high expectations for a spicy dinner food. Yeah! Unfortunately The foods were average-ly spicy. Served with Watermelon as welcome drink which was too good. Placed orders starting with Nellore chilly chicken. Chicken was deeply fried with some scrabbled eggs topped over the dish. Chicken was scrumptious and Tasty. And we had also ordered for warangal guntuka kodi. Tasted more or less equally like the Nellore chilli chicken. Our orders for the main course were Kheema Biriyani and Regular Chicken Biryani with kodi miripakaya vepudu(Chicken) and royallu iguru(Prawn). Kheema Biriyani was better than the regular chicken Biriyani. It was flavourful and enjoyable. And both the gravies were more or less the same for the prawn masala was a bit thicky and palatable. We had also ordered Melon and Melon drink. It was okayish and luscious.

Overall this place was quite nice. Might as well wanna try for lunch someday.

With Prabakaran Baskaran

Not bad

Worst food served here. With the amount of chillies used you will not be able to taste any dish. We went for a team lunch and everyone in the team fell sick.Never even try this restaurant.
Sony Priyadarshini
Very surprised to see this restaurant quite empty on a Sunday afternoon.

We ordered veg bhojanam, non-vegetarian bhojanam and chicken Biryani. Food is excellent with very authentic Andhra flavours. The thali menu is quite elaborate and every single dish was tasty. The chutney served with thali (not sure if it's chintakaaya pachadi) is the best.

This is our third visit and the previous two visits were long ago. We are glad that quality of food / taste is well maintained but the ambience looked little neglected. Compared to other restaurants run by this chain, this place definitely looks neglected and needs some work.

Coming to the pricing part, its quite high. This could be the main reason for this place being quite empty on a Sunday afternoon.

Food - 4.5/5
Ambience 3/5
Pricing - 2/5
Service - 4/5

Authentic Andhra food. Had ordered the veg thali. The dal powder , gongura pickle and sabudana payasam were great . Sambar was as usual. Rasam was bad - tasteless. Kuzhambu was amazing.
The ambience is good , but they were playing loud and disturbing music whilst I was there.
PS :- Some of the dishes here are highly spicy . Good for you if you can handle spice.
Ambience -3.5/5
Service - 3.5/5
Food -4.5/5
Variety - 4.5/5

One of best Andhra restaurant in the city . I love their meals and biryani. Kodi mirpayaka vepudu is best dish I have eaten . Food is little oily and spicy , but I have no complaints about that . Would be happier if they open branches near to my home . 😃

When I think of mana andhra.. I always remember how spicy it was...

Best andra meal I ever had..

If u could manage spicy ones.. this is place to try..
Akhila Anamolu
Good place for telugu cuisine. Mokkajonna garelu was my favourite dish. Thali is very costly where they will not repeat dishes. Biryani is OK and not at all Telugu taste.
Sabari Samundeeswari
We went as a group of 12 people, Valet parking is great. KNK road s tough to park, so this s a dwfeNite plus. The food was awesome, we ordered veg meals, vankaya, egg masala, pappu with gongura. The names r tough to recall. The non veg eating ppl were mad abt the chicken, the meal was awesome too I hear. The food was too good, the set up was nice. Good space between de tables, the service was good. We will go back for sure, to try all the stuff on de menu. The vada in tamarind curry was awesome.
Sriram Balakrishnan
Nice place packed with typical Sunday family crowd. A bit slow in service but the team were quite busy with all tables. Was in a dilemma for Veg or Non-veg thali when the bearer told me non-veg thali was limited and veg unlimited. My gang had already veg thalis and non-veg sides so thought lets try the other. Did take a bit of time for my order to come but was definitely worth it. People who have a tongue for spice should not miss this restaurant.
Shankar Krishnaiah
Lovely food, quality of plain rice was very good, their brinjal karam was amazing, Nellore chilli chicken was good, tomato pappu was great but not tangy enough for me, egg miriam was just about ok. But their prices are on the higher side in my opinion, they could possibly slash a third of what they are and they will have a 5* rating, will go again

It is in the basement of the building, shared along with nasi and me.
Service was quick and good. Restaurant is neatly maintained.
Being a Telugu family, we have always drooled for spicy Andhra foods. After seeing this restaurant in kNk road we just got in to have spicy lunch.

Orders:
Mana thali (₹ 310)
Which had 2 pooris, 2 papad, mint rice,
3 veg curries like mixed vegetables fry, ullipaya fry ( fried onion) and spinach fry.
Sambar, rasam, pachadi, curd and 2 different thalimpu.
The sweet was saggubiyyam payasam (javvarisi payasam). And the most popular podis and gongura pachadi were already placed in the table.
The fried onions were too salty and not at all eatable. Other than that every other dish was good but not spicy .
We also had two other items, guthivankaya biryani and mirchi Baji. That was my choice because I'm the type who never prefer a normal meal plate.
Mirchi Baji was served really spicy and the onions as the topping added more spice to it.
Guthivankaya biryani was the best. The quantity was also good.
I was having Baji and biryani simultaneously and that left me in tears.
This will be the must visit place in kNk road, if you are a spice lover.
Apart from this, the most popular dish in Andhra is pesarattu, a pesaru pappu/moong dal receipe. It should also be tried but the price here is too high.

I have been here two times since last week. The food is amazing. My taste buds are used to the usual chettinad style cooking, this place beat that comprehensively. I loved the fish fry which was juicy and tender, spicily fried. My wife loved the vegetarian dishes.
Abinand Sreedhar
Went for Dinner with my family , The food was very good as was the quantity. The Chilli chicken and biriyani was excellent. We ordered a couple of more items like dosa and others which were also good. The taste was excellent but was a little too spicy for the kids. Overall a good place to visit .
Sankaran Narayanan
A must try for people who like spicy andhra food. Meals is the obvious choice for lunch. Went here for dinner and had podi dosa, chapathi and tried egg, mushrooms and avakkai biryani. All were tasty. Service was good and staff were friendly.

It is at the basement of the building, spacious and well lit. Restroom is outside and can be better maintained but nothing major to complain about. Parking can be a problem so just give your keys to the valet.

Non veg stuff are Amazing (my friend's feedback)
Not too expensive and bring your hanky along if you can't handle the spice..
Anusha Erigineni
It was on my wish list for a long time now and finally We chose this restaurant for our anniversary lunch. Though the food tasted good and it resembled a lot of Andhra cuisine, the pricing was too high for the quantity they serve. We ordered two chicken biriyanis and one natu kodi vepudu (country chicken fry) which barely had 5 tiny tiny pieces of chicken. I missed taking a picture of it. Though i wanted to have the “neendu bhojanam” meals, I backed off seeing the price which was ₹615 for a thali. This is the highest priced thali i have ever seen in a normal restaurant. Although satisfied with the taste of the food, the reason for rating this restaurant 3 is purely based on the pricing for the quantity they serve.

It was a last minute pick and we ended up here 10 minutes earlier than they open.

Let me start with the positives. The place is neatly packed and at a prime location. The menu is inviting too.

We arrived at 7:00 and they just opened. The damp smell was a little too much. While I was sniffing, the guys understood and started with the room sprays. After a 15 minutes, I still did feel the smell again.

It was sunday evening and the guys were busy watching TV than attending the guests. Two of the things that was a put off for me.

Ordered - Apollo Paneer, Fish fingers, Lemon Chicken, Paratha, Mutton Gonghura Gravy and Mutton Kheema Biriyani. Our first two picks on maincourse weren't available so we had to go with the #KheemaBiriyani.

Except for the flaky paratha and the gravy, all of the others were - so so. The Paneer, was so too oily and was a total let down. Washed it with lemon soda and called it a night.

Tastes Great.

This place tops my list whenever hunger and craving for good food takes the highest priority. Located in the basement floor of the building, we went there for the first time thinking that it would be just another restaurant but the impression that it left was mind-blowing. The staff is very courteous. You will be welcomed with butter milk or lime juice initially. They have a good variety of dishes. I've tried their veg thaali, non veg thaali, chicken Biryani and all were splendid. Their veg thaali is our favorite.

biryani not like Andhra tasty

This is one restaurant I end up at often, due to its sheer proximity to work and it's absolutely delicious food. Usual order is Guntur chicken curry with phulka and masala buttermilk, although I have known to order the thali ( veg/ non-veg) on a few occasions too. The thali is a dream!! 5-6 gravies, rice, papad, puri, curd, sambhar, & rasam are a part of this orgy. However if you're a small eater like me beware. I find it difficult to finish.
The service is prompt no matter how busy.
The only thing wanting is a decore. Such lovely food deserves a better setting:)
BEST ANDHRA FOOD. BEST SOUTH INDIAN JOINT.
We went for a Sunday lunch. Place was a little crowded. But the people there were very helpful to get us a table.
Got a glass of Buttermilk as welcome drink. Best summer drug possible :)
We ordered a Chicken soup.
Corn starter. Chicken and a lamb starter. All the above was ON POINT. Spicy yet yummy. While few places discard taste to make it spicy, here they balanced it beautifully.
For mains, A chicken Briyani wrapped in an omelette - Can still remember the taste. Simply WOW. We also got Prawn gravy along with steamed rice. Best combo. By the time we finished mains, I had tears welled up like I was on the verge of a break up :P
I always equate Andhra food to the amount of tears I get after finishing it. And believe me I cried like a baby ;)
To soothe the hotness, we got 3 desserts. The infamous mango icecream, Gulab jamun with icecream and Carrot halwa with ice cream. Jamun and halwa were so warm and coupled perfect with the ice creams. And about the mango icecream, god it was the BEST. Such dreamy taste. All the items came up to a sum of 2.5k and it was totally worth it.

Amazing food! But the staffs run and hide in the kitchen sometimes, I don’t know why. And then the owner of the restaurant shepherds them outside. She personally talks to you about the food and asks if you liked the food. And this place serves the best Andhra food!

Firstly the restaurant cannot claim itself as andhra cuisine.u can never find a tomato flavour in biryani anywhere in andhra.it is completely tamil nadu style.mirchi ka salon or gravy usually served with biryani is not served.the quantity of biryani and chicken starters was too less infact being very pricy.ambience was good.service was average.

Awesome Andhra food ! I usually have the nindhu bhojanam it’s a thali they serve for lunch I wud post a pic of it . The Nellore chilli chicken and Veinchina Royallu which is a prawns dish is also great . They also have a mana thali for vegetarians . The podi is so good and they also sell it separately . Food is spicy though but they do have some dishes which are less spicy ! The biryani is too good .

The restaurant with Andhra style food which is very spicy and good in taste. We had both veg and non veg which is awesome. We had nerapakaya kodi, bilal kodi briyani, kheema briyani, rice and fish curry, chilli fish, chilli prawns everythin was spicy. But the cost of food is too much high.
Food : 5/5
Ambience : 3.5/5
Service : 4/5

After reading a lot of reviews went to mana andra today afternoon for lunch with my uncle who likes only thalis ..... their welcome drink was butter milk which was awesome and they also served a pachidi which was tooooo spicy buy very tasty (finished a whole water bottle licking the pachidi)

next arrived our 2veg and 2 non veg thali each rated at 395 and 625 respectively but both werent good ... ie not worth the money ... only the mutton sukka was good ...

we had also ordered fish fry, naatu kozhi fry and prawns .... these 3 were good ....

but everything was very very very very spicy ....
we r people from andra and love spicy food but it was above our level.... since spiciness took over we could not actually enjoy the taste ....

Although the ambience and the location was quite good, we weren’t all that impressed with the food. We tried the Guthivankaya biriyani, chicken biriyani, fish fry and egg burji. Sadly the food was quite oily and not all that pleasant to finish.

Food is good. Well maintained. Clean. Try village chutneys. Super with ghee. Try prawns fry. Super good. Little costly. But ok..for once. Bhojanam items are too many to eat..you can try that too.

I’m going to start this review by stating the fact that I’m part Gultee (Telugu roots) and I’m being very fair at writing this one.

We visited this “authentic” Andhra cuisine restaurant on a Friday night. The place was totally deserted and we were the only ones there, time being 9:45pm. Inspite of it being empty, we took a risk and decided to dine there, purely based on Zomato reviews.

We ordered Chicken dum briyani, Naatu kodi kura and parottas.

* Chicken Briyani was colourless. It was plain white rice with some whole spices and boiled chicken. I was super hungry and it was a total let down seeing a white coloured briyani, that too in a Andhra cuisine based restaurant. Briyani was bland and such a waste of money. I still couldn’t digest the fact that these guys served me a bland-tasteless-white coloured-pulao styled rice. The Chef and management should be ashamed, and they should probably consider renaming that so called “Briyani”dish into “white rice with boiled Chicken”.

* Naatu Kodi Kura and Parottas was drenching in oil. Again this is coming from a Gulti guy, that is not how Kodi kura should be made. It was not spicy at all. Just plain chettinad styled gravy with ten extra large spoons/laddles of oil. Shame on you all for serving me such a hideous tasting dish.

P.S. : If you guys want to taste Hyderabadi/Andhra styled Briyani, please ignore this place and visit Paradise@OMR, Velidis@Porur, Golkondaas@OMR, etc. to name a few.

Was expecting a great andhra dinner but was greeted with sour faces and a urine like odour in the restaurant. Shortest time we spent at any restaurant. Sat down and informed the staff about the smell, they bluntly denied it. So we left. No effort was made to correct. Worst restaurant experience ever without even seeing the menu. Definitely recommend nasi and mee two floors up. Manaandhra is nah nah Andhra.

the food was great and i loved it

ManaAndhra, well this restaurant was in my bookmark for quite some time. Finally we decided to step here for a lovely Sunday Lunch with family. Its located in the bustling Khader Nawaz khan road, and thanks to the valet parking as we were relieved from stacking our 4 wheeler in this busy stretch.

Surprisingly we got tables ASAP, being not taken any prior reservations. This is a basement restaurant, and i loved the rich decor and subtle wall colors which was quite elegant. There were a variety of pickles, spices and red chilies in display which kept us grooved and intact to the spicy Andhra delicacy. One thing which irked me was the noise, being a tight jam packed place and would blame it on the weekend.

We were greeted with a lemonade, which served as a great sigh of relief in this bloody summer. Right from the moment, we stepped in i found the service was quite slow. The steward, dint give a chance to expalin the nuances of the dish which we enquired and was quite slack. Went with thali's, Mana Thali(Veg thali) and Nindhu Bhojanam(Grand Non Veg Thali).

Mana Thali:

This comprises of couple of small poori's, a variety rice, white rice, 3 veg curies, rasam, papad, Cur and sweet. It was just an average Veg thali and nothing much to devour. Indeed, loved all the subji's. Not to mention about the fried ladies finger, it would be the pick of the lot.

Nindhu Bhojanam:

This had poori's, chicken biriyani, Fish curry, Chicken Curry, Egg masala, Mutton Fry, Sambar, rasam, Sweet and Icecream.

Chicken biriyani:

It was just average, not the typical andhra style biriyani. As it comes with thali, you could just find a scoop of biriyani rice with a small piece of chicken.

Chicken Curry:

Well this was so spicy and it went good with the rice. chicken was so succulent and tender and its flavour levitated the taste.

Mutton Fry:

If chicken curry was spicy, this dish was ultra spicy and the most spiciest of all. Mutton was not that properly cooked and found little harder. I must admit, got tears while having this

Fish Curry:

This would be the pick of the lot. the Curry came with a piece of Seerfish and it tasted wow. And with the rice it was an absolute delicacy.

An andhra meals is incomplete without tasting the gongura and the podis. They have a couple of podis and the lovely gongura. I'd just fell in love with the podi and ghee with rice. It was one of the best podi combo i have tasted. There were also a slew of dishes under a la carte. Would love to taste it some time then.

As i mentioned, found the service were quite slack and slow. We found the refills for both rice and other dishes were not prompt. They should drastically improve their service.

Overall, our outing with ManaAndhra was a mixed feel. I cant tell they were genuinely authentic to the Andhra cuisine when compared to other Andhra outlets in city. But its a definitely a try for the ambiance and few of their signature dishes. Not to mention, its slightly overpriced though.

VFM - 3.5/5
Quality - 4/5
Service - 2.5/5
Quantity - 3.5/5
Ambiance - 3.5/5
Taste - 3/5

If you crave for some spicy and typical Andhra style food, this is the place to be. Me and my friend came here for our lunch. The ambience was really good except that you have to walk to the basement for the restaurant.

Tried their Munagakaya soup, Appolo Paneer and their Mana Thali. Couldn't say everything was exceptional and they were not too bad as well. The food was tad spicy and definitely not my type. My friend did enjoy it.

This restaurant is a shame to authenticity. Though, the names of the dishes are authentic, the food is no were authentic Andhra/telugu food. The only reason this restaurant is probably running is probably because of the unfamiliarity among the public. I would like to comment on every single dish I ordered but that would just sad and hopeless. I hope the restaurant works more on recreating the dishes on the menu with more emphasis on the authenticity which is not a difficult task considering it’s a regional cuisine and moreover from a neighboring state(s).
