For lunch, i was in search of nice place on saturday afternoon in t.nagar. Then i saw data udipi hotel. Biggest strength of this place is purely it's food. Traditional south indian meals just attract you. Flavour and aroma of food elevates your taste.Masala dosa is excellent. One of the best I have tasted. Parotta kurma is awesome.snacks like baji's are top notch and filter coffee on rainy day can make you feel heavens.It's worth for money and waiting. Only problem her is it's parking.If you are from t.nagar or kodambakkam, just go to this area not just for lunch but also for great evening snacks!!!!

Am wondering how I missed to review this two decades old hotel on north usman road. I have had breakfast, lunch and dinner more than a dozen times.
This review will be all about food only food. That's the strength of this place.
Breakfast- Piping hot idlies at 7.30 am amazing sambar and decent chutney.
Pongal vadai authentic taste and decent quantity.
Coffee a let down.
Lunch- typical South Indian meal Rice, Sambar, Karakuzhambu, more kuzhambu , poriyal, kootu, appalam, sweet or payasam, buttermilk,pickle.
Taste wise consistently good. All for not more than 55 to 70.
Dinner- Masala dosa- excellent masala. Authentic udupi style masala. One of the best I have tasted. Parotta kurma- again excellent preparation. Overall worth the money.
There is nothing called ambience here. Typical udupi hotel non A/C. So far I have not got any tummy damage a reassurance to me regarding quality.
Parking especially for cars maybe a issue. It's below the north usman road bridge.
If anyone happens to be in that area looking for value for money excellent South Indian fare do try this.
Very oldest hotel. Only 2 service, one Billing person. One for billing. Get good food with decent rate. Most of them not aware. Atmosphere won't be that much good, so people preference is very much less here. Sure worth for veg dishes. Won't affect your stomach
Not a great atmosphere... But the service and the food is close to heart... It's almost like a habit for us to eat it daily
Best quality food can be enjoyed here. I am an occasional eater outside my home and I always prefer this place for the quality veg food for the past 20 years. Worth for money.

At a very reasonable price, especially in chennai, a nice restaurant to opt for. Decent taste, good service, pleasing owner... At 10 PM you can find hot idly that are served here.
I feel like eating food at home as well as a village area's hotels are like this only.
Price wise it's costly, but taste will be very good
Decent vegetarian budget hotel. I have tried the tiffin items frequently, they are good.
