Food is good and you have all varieties for veg and non veg Nd it tastes good.. we went as a team and enjoyed the ambiance and the food.. the services is good however it took a bit long.. may be because of the crowd..

The taste was acceptable and the ambiance was the best thing about this place. Most of the dishes were excellent but the deserts.

A lovely ambience by the pool side for a candle light dinner enjoying the nature. It is better to book your table in advance.

Wonderful ambience and must try place in CBE. Hospitality is good and they have a huge parking space. Taste of food is fabulous šŸ˜. You can ask for their favourite items to get the best experience. Cool spot to spend quality time with friends and loved ones .

The Best. Ambience, service, Food, Just amazing. Dinner with your loved one, Under the moon and stars. The pool side thing makes it outstanding. A little expensive, but worth it. Eager to visit again. Suggesting all, have a memorable dinner.

Super high-class. Go only if you have high budget. We had a veg biryani for 700, not enough for one person.

Great quality but limited choices and little blend for Indian taste bud.

For a dining experience in a 4 star hotel The Afghan Grill can do even better in terms of taste. The Starters were mediocre - maybe the chef was having a bad day. The location and waiting staff were fabulous, canā€™t ask anything more of them. Request the management to look into the taste quotient, in the longer run it can cost the institution the ā€˜reputeā€™ it dearly toiled and earned.

The ambience is lovely and so is the staff. The food could have been better but that's just our taste. For a date it's the perfect restaurant.

This place has decent food but the service is a bit slow. I have really enjoyed the meals Iā€™ve had here sitting by the poolside and enjoying the nice weather of Coimbatore.

Great ambiance(pool side) but food is not extraordinary.
Quality is good. But very expensive.
Approx 1000 per person. Still worth trying for very special occasion.

Nice food and good hospitality. Loved the ambience next to the swimming pool.
Carried away with the warmth and ambience.
Will recommend to others and will definitely come back.

Went on dinner with friends and colleagues. The ambience was good and that's it. The food taste and service was a let down. The staff was courteous though but needed to be constantly reminded to even fill the glasses with water. Perhaps the service can be improved. Overall it's over priced for the quality of food and service.

It was my second visit for my wedding anniversary and it turned out to be a special evening. The celebration arrangements to a pool side table for dinner, the complementary surprises made the evening so special and amazing. Special mention to Mr. Vignesh for making this happen. The food festival on the evening was outstanding with some unique dishes.

Nice place, the ambiance is also good. The only thing that bothers me is that the menu is already not too wide spread, and on that selective menu, the sizzlers and a few other starter items are not valid for the Zomato 1+1 offer. Service was just about okay, not too happy with the level of service also!

If you want to have a good dessert this is not the place to go. Thought of indulging in some sweet treats last night (11/11/2018) at the Afghan Grill but ended up being terribly disappointed. Their triple chocolate mousse was namesake as it was rubbery and tasteless and so was their caramel custard. Though we stuck to just desserts it took so long for it arrive at the table. We hoped that the delay could be because they are making the sweet treats fresh from scratch but once they arrived at our table it was a disaster as it tasted the exact opposite of fresh - stale! Not even worth your money! The service too was lousy as the communication was poor. So much for a star hotel!

Hi people / pls do not try a dish called Jumbo prawns (1000) bugs / I got 4 pieces baby finger sizes / thanks Zomato for giving some savings / good ambience / food delivery time 30 minute against order / chicken and Briyani tasted good /

Nice place. Been there after a long time. Renovation has been done beautifully and the staff are as helpful as they were earlier. Food was good. Do make sure that you reserve the seats in advance if you want to be there during a weekend

Beautiful ambience, previously a regular before their renovations, used to be one of my favorites. Back to the present day, a must visit place to burn down your expectations on food quality and self respect.

Didnt have stock on the drinks that were on the menu. Main course tasted good; Chocolate mousse was rather rubbery - total let down on my favorite course of meal. Since that my system demanded unusual quantity of water through the night to stabilise, I'm skeptical that it could be the ingredients in the main course or the dessert.

The worst happened when I was humiliated for having a zomato gold business membership - was asked for my ID, and they holded it for a good while, which was basically my phone; when demanded for the bill they brought it, and insisted to show me proof of my business. After escalating my opinion they proceeded to accept my payment, which again has to be made at front office, I was dragged all the way to the reception. All this without the usual hospitality. Whoof, had more than enough anticipating a relaxed night out!

(I tried my best for a polite review)

Went to afghan grill for dinner with friends. The ambience was pleasant with outdoor seating and weather complimented the dinning experience. Staffs were courteous and attentive in recommending dish and service. The Potions were just right and the spices were well balanced. The choices of beer šŸŗ was limited just to two, kingfisher and Carlsberg, this could be an improvement point. Food tastes great and good service.

Usual place of stay.. food especially the morning buffet is nice.. even the room delivery food is nice . Good ambience in all the restaurants in the hotel

I just loved the ambiance. I visited the place in a cold night and the sight of the pool and the live lobsters was really good. The service is also good. I loved the biryani that I had here. The variety of desserts were minimum and the taste was very normal.
Dharmendra
Awesome place to relax and have dinner. Had chicken kebab and a drink and I was wowed by the food quality. The service staff were also polite and humble. Will surely come back.

The food is absolutely amazing. Their kebabs and meat platters are amazing.Everything we bought was good. Though the price is quite high I would absolutely recommend everyone to eat there at least once.

Ambience awesome ,food taste good not great , cost wise itā€™s very expensive. For two people without alcohol the average price is around 2500-3000 INR,for the ambience itā€™s worth it.

Was in for a pleasant suprise when the chef himself was welcoming guests and even ushering them in.

Signature soup ordered (broccoli and almonds) turned out to be bland. Chef came out and admitted that maybe the puree had excess water. Promised a better replacement. Didn't manage. Gave up.

Boneless chicken dish ordered surprisingly had bones. Was told boneless means less but smaller sized bones. Escalated. Restaurant manager turned up and without doing any fact finding on his side started our interrogation. Didn't want him to bother us asking for the full story again.

On our way out there were the usual apologies etc but the person neither introduced himself nor offered his card just in case.

Tata

Dont know what to say about this place this is for a reviw of this reaturant i visited say a year ago. And i visited 3-4 times in a span of 6months. The ambience is very good. The food the service is very poor. I dont understand why they take so much time. Tbey domt even come and ask if u need anything. Some tablea are conveniently hidden so dont even k ow what is going on. Some if our non vegetarian friends liked thjr food. But i am not at all happy, may be its the service that makes u hate the food.

Must visited Restaurant in Coimbatore.
Service is also good. Ambiance is very nice and pleasing. We visited there three times in our 6 days stay. One starter that I could not forget is "Naseelai Paneer Kai Tikka" name sounds different but taste was awesome. Would love to try again on next visit to Coimbatore.
5/5 only for this starter. Vegetarian people must go for this.
Staff is good.

Had my birthday dinner here and found the ambience of the place really amusing. Loved the seating and the subtle music playing along. the courtesy of the staff and the food was good. Wouldn't rate the taste of the food as exceptional but this place should definitely be on your bucket for a lovely evening.
Rahul Bhandari
The food is Mamamia :) It was a birthday treat, The blueberry cake was complimentary as we had informed them about the Birthday, It was like heaven, Loved the taste.
The food was above the level of satisfaction, Go try the food and surely post a selfie :)

It was a planned visit to this place and i have to admit this place disappointed us. The flavours doesnt live up to the standard of the hotel. The sea food platter was not something extraordinary, the non vegetarian dishes were also pretty ordinary even the pricing was quite high. Best item was there cheese nan that was awesome. The ambience and service is pretty good. My categorized ratings are below..

Taste-2.5/5
Service-4/5
Ambience-4/5
Value for money-2.5/5
Overall-3/5

Hope ratings will help the readers.

It's a nice pool side restuarant. Food is not out of this world but its decent. It might be a tad expensive for the taste but the fact that its inside a star hotel makes sense then. Doesnt stand out enough for me to recommend people to go here.

Visited Afghan grill for the first time and I liked the place a lot. Beautiful ambiance. All our orders were provided quicker also. We had a complimentary cake as it was one of my friend's bday which was the only one which I felt was of average taste. King size prawns we had just revived my taste buds. It was yummy and the other dishes ordered were good. Prithivi Ilango

Pathetic food and very poor service. Ambience was a spoiler too.. It was dim lit and too much of vapour from the pool side. The waiter took order and did not coordinate with his staff and hence we had to wait for an hour to realize that
the order did not reach the kitchen yet. For the price they charge the food was of very poor quality and it was not even hot and i seriously doubt how they maintain their class. Such a waste of money and time for the quality of food. Very disappointed and i highly DO NOT recommend this to anybody.

The evening was a disaster. The staff needs training on food safety. The ice was knocked down and I saw that the waiting staff throw the fallen ice into the ice bucket. They claimed that the ice was replaced when I asked about it. Overall service was slow. Too expensive for the bad service

Afghan Grill is an outdoor fine-dining restaurant and is a great place to relax and enjoy mouth-watering food with friends, or to go out on a date. The ambience is breathtaking, and instantly elevates your mood. The pool, the lighting, the decorative plants, all add to the elegance and atmosphere. The staff is very courteous and caring. Make sure to reserve your table. I went on a weekday, so there was no rush and service was prompt. However, weather may play spoilsport on a hot, humid or rainy day, so be careful while choosing the day and time. There is variety for both veg and non-vegetarian foodies. The taste and quality of food exceeded our expectations. Alcohol was a little costly (no surprises there). Overall, a truly memorable experience.

This is one of my favourite restaurants in Coimbatore. I usually stay at The Residency towers, so this is a usual haunt for dinner. The ambience is great.. Outside seating by the pool with covered canopy options.. Suitable options for every kind of weather.

The food has never disappointed this far; my last visit for over 4 days for work, we tried most of the kababs... Each one was delicious! A little too spicy at times, but well marinated and cooked to perfection.

The service, unfortunately, leaves much to be desired. The waiters appear to be trainees for the most of it and we had issues communicating. Also, the speed of service on Sunday.. Definitely needs to improve

Overall, great place and I would recommend this place for sure.

For a night's dinner, the place was poorly lit and vapour from the nearby pool completely surrounded the place, a huge turnoff. The staff were friendly but communication needs improvement. The menu was filled with a wide variety of cuisines. The taste was also decent. Felt that the quantity was meagre for the hefty price we pay. Go for it if you want a posh night out!
Pradeep Rajkumar
Loved the ambiance but the grills with their dishes were made out of proportion and cold main course served.Staff communication not fluent enough to request our dishes.

The traditional setup and their consistency are a let down..Stale vegetable salads served on our last trip..

Meat and chicken were not tender ..

Highly not recommended...

Okie now that I had many experiences eating in all the outlets in residency I always felt that there is something majorly wrong with their mutton/lamb the texture and taste of the mutton/lamb itself is a disaster but still I wanted to go to this place for a different reason of course the ambience very cosy dim lights and the whole set up just lifts up the whole experience..
First of the menu, well it's a very simple menu and I felt there is nothing much exciting about it as I said earlier I clearly explained the boy about my experiences and I asked him to serve me something good if not its definitely gonna get back to your kitchen.. So we ordered the soup first and it completely spoilt my appetite.. Then came the starters well there is nothing much to complain about it and after mentioning so much about the mutton I should mention this is the first time I ate something which did not stink in residency though it was just an ok dish.. Rotis and biriyani were good and I just want them to increase the rice quantity in the biriyani as they serve it in a small bowl with three big pieces of chicken with no rice init and we pay so much for a small bowl I expect atleast some content in that bowl the dessert kulfi also was just ok.. Altogether it's a good place to spend for an evening but the food was just ok and good.

Great Ambience, with a pool nearby. Not much for Vegetarians, as the variety is very less. Too costly if you are looking for "Value for money". The value is only for the name "Residency" and not the food. Good for romantic dates !!

Had been here with a couple family friends for dinner. The menu does not offer a lot but the food is good. The ambiance is really good.
The drinks are worth a try!
Skywalkeradi
Excellent ambience and service, very few choices in drinks and lacks variety in food menu. Taste was just about ok. Pretty expensive for what was offered.

If you are on a date, don't go for some other restaurants! Afghan grill is picturesque. The one and only pool side in restaurant in the city and ambiance is perfect at the evening for a candle light dinner with your partner! Little over priced but it is worth if you are on a date! Good choice of dishes.

This place has an amazing ambiance, so if you would like to pick a place for a date, this would be the perfect location. In evenings, you can enjoy a candlelight dinner and an experience of dining close to a fountain. You might have to book a table beforehand as this place is mostly crowded.
But if you are a foodie, I wouldn't recommend this place. firstly, because the taste of the food is not unique. Secondly, the prices are towards the higher end which frankly considering the food quality is not worth it.

Amazing ambiance for a restaurant located at the heart of a city .
Was there for dinner with family .we ordered a lotta dishes .started off with the chicken soup.it was really good .the paneer tikka n mushroom would serve as some good starters for the vegetarians .the reshmi kebab is a good less spicy chicken starter .the hariyali fish tikka was good the first time I had it but this particular time the fish was bit hard and slightly burnt .do not order the biryani unless u wan some average spicy yellow coloured rice .the garlic naan and dal makhani ,mixed veg curry and kadhai panneer wod be great for main course .the lobster curry s good too .for dessert ,you can go with the fruits in chocolate cup .i personally did not like the Oreo cheesecake .the Brownie with icecream the brownie was a bit hard and it wod ve been better if it was warm.
Vinay Shankar
Great ambience by the pool side.. Probably the best is town where alcohol is also served.

Ideal place to take the corporates out for dinner post meetings and a long day...

But you are obviously charged a premium for this.

Fantastic food. Good service.
Mohan
Very nice place for dinner. The service has to be improved, almost waited more than 20 mins to have somebody to take our order or to give us the menu. No attention to detail while taking the order and had to request lot many times to get a sauce. Very poor service and the food taste is not that great. Tried chicken bbq but it tasted just like tomato juice with masala.
Rahul Prasath
Best place for evening dine. Ambience is so good that itā€™ll make you be back to the place more and more time. I specially liked this place. Food is good. As it is located pool side it make it more attractive. Nice one Chaps. Keep it going.
Chella Shivnarayan
A good place for an exotic and costly yet delicious meal for dinner. I wouldn't recommend it for lunch or breakfast ( if available). It has a better atmosphere and service at night.

The best place to spend your evenings with your loved ones. The renovation is splendid. Wish more private spaces are done inside for special occasions. Say a table for two. Would have been nice. It is the best on a rainy day with fresh air and drizzling rain. No words to describe that. The servers should def need some more training on how to serve and to smile. I thought like "Should I pay u guys extra for the server to smile".

We wanted to go in for a sea food specials and inquired about the special, we were surprised with very limited options. Should have been at least 5 different fish varieties. Since the options we had were Pomfret and Red Snapper we ordered the former. Spoke with the chef on how it has to be done and he was kind enough to explain and deliver it less spicy as we mentioned. Believe me, it was finger licking good and we did the same. Lol. Then wanted to try the other option available, red snapper. We were impressed with that too. Good Job chef. But def they have to improve the service part.

The Afghan Grill is a good place to chill in the evenings with friends and family. Its Al fresco dining by the poolside so the ambience is relaxing . The tandoori food here is reasonably good but make sure while ordering that the chicken or prawns are not overdone.Similar for the rotis and nans. The butter masala is spread out to several veg and nonveg dishes so it may be repetative so order carfully and you will have a satisfying meal.Tastewise the curry dishes tend to have a bit of Southern flavour which is nice but not authentic in taste.Service is a bit easy paced especially getting the bill may test your patience--but what the h*** just sit back and enjoy the cool breeze and gaze into the starlit sky.

Food here is average nothing authenticate sort of thing... had tandoori here it was average... i felt is was bit on expensive side... ambiance is good ... can spend good time with ur partner ...

Ah! The Grill. I'd probably say it's like the only authentic grill down in C Town. It's a bit on the higher side, but the paneer is like a dolp of melting butter. One of ze best mint chunteys ever. Overall, Residnecy-ish.

This new restaurant is in a beautiful setting, and seems to be very popular. We have eaten here 3 times and have had a great experience on each occasion. The staff are so friendly and helpful, and will do anything that they can to make sure that you enjoy your evening. My only word of warning would be to those who cannot tolerate very spicy food; some of the dishes (particularly the traditional Afghan ones) sound as if they won't be spicy, but when they arrive they are very hot and our 2nd meal here was inedible due to this fact. However, we spoke with the waitress and the head chef, who both advised us that we could easily ask for the spice level to be toned down to suit our tastes, and the next time we visited, that was exactly what we did. The dishes are cooked very well and the Kulcha's are absolutely out of this world. We took a friend to eat here when he was visiting and as he is a fan of spicy food, he ordered the tandoori chicken which he said was really tasty, so please don't be put off by my comments about the spicy food!
