Their food is really good and they should concentrate more on service part. We have to wait for someone to come or ask multiple times for the rice to served for the meals purchased. Looks like they're short staffed. We ordered mutton chukka, chicken curry meals and lollipop. Everything was good. A must try place for meals.

The best food in the recent times. I enjoyed their biriyani and dynamite chicken. Biriyani was made of Seeraga Samba rice. The quantity was little less. The best part of their food was that the chicken was finely cooked and so soft. The dynamite chicken was spicy enough and very tender. There's a good seating capacity. The parking is large enough. The service is okay and can be improved. They accept card payments. Restroom facilities are available.

I've recently visited SMS for a lunch with my friends of around 8 members, the restaurant was more spacious and it gave a cozy vibes because of the dim golden light with background songs. We had pepper chilli prawns and Japan chicken as our starters and I highly recommend it, then as for the main course we had chicken and mutton Biriyani and also bun parotta with chettinad chicken gravy as of main course it was pretty good not so worth it and lastly for desert we had shakes and elaneer payasam, I highly recommend the elaneer payasam here in sms it was so damn good. Overall it is a good place to spend time with family. It costed us around 3500 for 8 members

Bun parotta here is my favorite. Family friendly. Food tastes good and quality also good. But service could have been better. It's very difficult to call a waiter and had to wait for a long time before a waiter would attend. When I visited they gave less change by Rs.200 so if you pay cash check balance change properly.

If you like variety in non veg food then SMS is the place to be We had a non veg sadya/thali along with few starters and each and every item was distinct in taste Frankly speaking was so full that I couldn’t finish it 🤣 Family friendly place with excellent ambience Last word about the service - highly quick and efficient. Normally where thali is served service tends to be slow, but at SMS service and food both need to be appreciated I am definitely coming back for more 👍

Starting off, The ambience is elegant and The service is great. I have been here for countless times and what i really like is that they always make sure to satisfy our taste buds, For starters we had sweet corn chicken soup, chicken 777 and Natukozhi pepper fry which was very spicy.For the main course, we tried chicken briyani, veechu parotta, Butter naan and kadai chicken masala. I would always come here for the Bun parotta. It's that great.

I along with my family members visited this hotel this afternoon at 3:30 P.M. We could find almost all the dishes we asked for, even in that late afternoon. The hotel had a good ambience and good parking facilities. Very busy and almost full all the time. Servers were very friendly. Today I tried Butter roti, chettinad chicken gravy, chicken fry, Tandoori Chicken, Chicken777 and Watermelon juice. Personally I did not like Butter roti as it was very hard to bite. I suggest everyone going to this hotel to try Tandoori chicken and Chicken 777. Chicken 777 was very crispy and delicious. My mom had a falooda and a paneer tikka. She said both were not upto the mark. One can find tasty non-vegetarian foods here but not the tasty vegetarian foods. Personally I feel they have to improve the way of presenting the food. Went here on Christmas eve this year and during the puja hols the previous year. I walked out of the hotel after sitting inside for 10 minutes. And I tell you, no one even seemed to notice. This place is way understaffed. If you get anybody to take your order then you get to wait an excruciating 40 minutes for your food to arrive. I've got nothing good to say about the food. The food was too damn oily. Tasted bad. Seemed like the oil was very overused. I had the fish that hardly tasted right. And seriously, for the price charged, the chilly fish needs to be a good variety and not the local ones. The fried rice seemed to taste fine untill I noticed the oil it was floating in! The lemon soda was too damn sour. Never visiting it again! Thank you for the very bad time!

Ok restaurant for a not so memorable dinner. Staff were courteous but super slow and the food was on the bland side. Considering it is called spice bay, it's ironic to eat bland food. Ambience was ok and we can eat once when at the vicinity. Hope they improve since they are close to home and I'd love to eat more there.

Worst experience ever....ordered paneer chilly and baby corn chilly...instead recieved paneer tossed in corn flour....no spices no vegetables...the blandest food eaten ever...had ordered chicken clear soup and tomato soup and it seemed that the tomato soup lacked tomato in it along with spices...and clear soup wasn't clear as it is supposed to be...highly NOT recommended..

I've always wanted to visit thz place since t time it was opened buh cudnt visit as I left the city. Wen I was back in town I headed here for an unplanned dinner. I had Veg tomato soup and mushroom roast. The restaurant is well maintained, service is a bit slow buh the staff members were courteous. I loved the mushroom roast. It was perfectly cooked with the right amount of spices n esp the accompaniments (chutney) were too good. Taste is definitely important for me n mi first visit made a great impression about thz restaurant. I am alrdy planning to get mi family here sometime. It would b a perfect place for a cute get together on a sober weekday. Parking space is another plus.

Just beside the hotel we stayed, we decided to give this place a try. Been here for lunch and ordered for a chicken curry, nan and chicken 777. Curry was okayish but nan didn't seem less like rubber sheet. Thankfully the chicken 777 was the savior. Too pricey for the food available. Cheers!!

Do pay a visit if you're damm hungry. These people do manage orders pretty well and you get your food served quick. The place gets mostly crowded but that doesn't matter. The ambience is swell and one can eat peacefully in it here but do keep in mind that the price is on the higher side.

We visited the restaurant on a Sunday afternoon, and though it was crowded, the place had a dimly lit, peaceful ambiance. The restaurant maintains a traditional touch as it provides banana leaves instead of plates to have food. Being a busy afternoon, the waiters were late to take orders. The dishes were well cooked and were served pretty quick. We ordered Mixed Non Veg Fried Rice, Butter Naan and Paneer Tikka Masala, which was spicy and delicious.

Good Ambience You have chettinad and Chinese dishes so over all a good hangout place as the atmosphere outside is also pretty good!! But they are good at managing crowd a very good approach.... Food was great. The place is pretty crowded and busy... We went as a group of 6. And I would say I did not really like the seating. It felt too conjusted. The smaller groups had better seating. The ambience is good. And of all things we had, I would list out "the best" items we had 1.Mutton Nenjelumbu Soup- it had the perfect mix of spices. 2. Starters - Fish fingers and Dragon Chicken 3. Mutton keema dosa I did try the bun Parota after reading the reviews. It was different. The Ceylon Parota was also good. And I also heard they have good falooda though I did not try it... But food really took quite some time to reach our table. Soup and starters reached the table at the right time. The gravies came almost after we finished half the main course... Food- 4.5 Ambience - 3.5 Service - 3 Good parking and the beeda stall near the parking completes the meal!

Not recommended for Home delivery!!! i would give -10 if it was possible!! worse home delivery service I have experienced since my stay in India. I placed an order at 8:34 and the restaurant guy told me it would take maximum 45min , repeating the same twice. I accepted and the 45min turned out 2h25min . I had guests at my place and they left tired of waiting. We paid the amount as per the delivery guy told us , and an hour later I get a call from the restaurant claiming that I had to give 196rs more which was ridiculous and very disrespectful. I dont mind paying 1000 more , I won't become richer or poorer because of 196rs, but considering the fact that they took 2h25min I find this ridiculous, because any restaurant in the world would do the exact opposite. But the most amazing thing was that when i told them to come and collect the amount that they forgot to charge; it took only 5(five) minutes reach my place. 2h25min for delivery, and 5 minutes to collect the amount!

It was a small hall capacity of 75ppl and served with banana leaf. Coming to the food the mutton biriyani was really gud in taste. Bun parotta was soft and went really well the salna given. Chicken 65 was decent, Fish fry was OK only. Overall the meal was satisfying. Not sure about the ala carte menu and its taste since I had it in banana leaf buffet,

Hotel looks good from outside. Menu is good, but food is spicy and not authentic in its flavour. Plus for one dinner I ended up paying bills 3 times as there was no coordination among waiters. American Chopsi was well presented in the plate also the taste is fabulous!!! I think Sms hotel was the best hotel in Coimbatore because the hotel's locations was well known to every one . Very Bad experience on my birthday , we thought its a decent hotel but the total mood was spoiled by the total team. Its my fault to choose the hotel at 10 24 PM . please don't step in after 10 PM ,they will take one order & close the kitchen after taking ordered but they will generate the whole bill with what ever ordered. For management ( Note to Mr Gautam Tamuil Sealvan) please try to treat all customers as our family member. Treat each and every one as equal. After seeing many reviews been to this restaurant. Their ambiance was good and their dishes was less spicy and good in taste. We almost ordered multicuisine dishes and all were good. Especially their lamb dishes were tasty. They have to improve in serving time, they took around 20 mins for each dish which was quite bad as we have to wait for next dish.

We first ordered chicken sweet corn soup which came in time... The soup was awful... Then we ordered some starters like chicken lollipop and fish777... It was nice... When we go to main dish... We ordered chicken kothu parotta.... We ordered two coz we were four... We gone to hotel in Sunday... So they were so many people... So the trouble started here.... The dish we ordered had been given to another table... So the servers apologise us fr the delay.... Suddenly we saw there is only one chicken kothu parotta in our table..... When we asked the server be told that u have ordered only one... So we cancelled that another dish... Even that chicken kothu parotta was not good... It was average only... Finally... So I recommend others to go to that hotel but say the dish correctly....

This place has the worst home delivery serice. I ordered at 7pm and got it delivered at 7.30pm but the parcel got mixed up and I had to send it to them again and get mine. This took more than an hour and even after they delivered, one other dish wasn't delivered. I had to call them again to get it delivered at my place. The second time I ordered, I did not get the order on time. The worst service ever, but the food is bearable. To the SMS team, please do not undertake the home delivery service because you cannot do it for peanuts. Damn annoyed with this place. Would never go back again.

Had been to SMS today for a family dinner. 1. Half of the Vegetarian starters in the menu was not available at 8 PM. I was told that they can serve Mushroom, Paneer and Gobi based starters and gravy's alone. I hope it would be the case on all weekday's. 2. Quantity of food served was worth the money but starting from soup food lacked taste. Food was too salty. Dosa and other flour based food were very good. 3. Time taken to serve food was below average. 4. No extra spoons/fork/plates were provided while food was served. 5. Had experienced 0% hospitality. 6. Ambience was good. Place was clean. Would not recommend this place for Vegetarians.

Looks decent with good ambience and taste but lacks with the service. I liked the special pepper chicken very much and even the veg dishes are good. Should improve their customer service

After hearing so much of laurels about the place, decided to visit one Saturday afternoon for lunch. The entrance is huge with good car parking facilities. They have two restaurant under one roof - Spice bay and Pink Pepper. We Choose Spice bay. Interiors were very classy and sophisticated. Menu is a mix of chetinad and Chinese dishes. We ordered Mutton nenju elumbu soup, Mutton Biryani, bun parotta, Egg curry, Mushroom pepper fry, Nattu koli kulambu and Fried rice. Mutton nenju elumbu soup was below average. Mutton biryani was average. Loved the bun parotta and mushroom pepper fry. The chicken and egg curry was also average. Fried rice was good. Service was very prompt. I find the place a bit over priced. Would I go back again ? NO

Best feature of this restaurant is their CUSTOMER SERVICE! Special mention Mr. Peter. He helped us from reservation, ordering food, giving quick suggestions of what food will be apt for each member. Kudos to the whole team :) You guys helped to make it such a memorable evening for my family. P.S Bun Parota and all Chettinadu style curry must try!

I tasted their Chicken Biriyani and didn't like the taste much. Bun Parota was decent. The saying - Appearance is deceptive - holds good for this place. A place with a good ambience but average food for the price we pay.

very good ambience, starting from car parking, service boy, managers all are too good, i am sure everyone will like this place. Its best place to go with family. Coming to food i have tried biryani, its good. Only disappointment is gravy its very salty, i tried two times both times its bit salty. Otherwise this is best hotel.

Worst experience , had to wait a long time to get served on starve day .. Cud hav adjusted if the taste was gud .. Ordered chicken briyani and Chinese starters .. Briyani was very less in quantity and starters too not worth for money , Neva gonna suggest for any of Ma friends ..

i shud say tat the food was quite expensive.But the kebabs are really good here, and u shud go for nonvg meals, the king sized version.Fish is also good here, especially the pomfret but yet expensive.Once in a blue moon u shud dine here.

A good to be dine in place for non vegetarians. A good blend of spices provides perfect flavour to all food. I specially prefer chicken briyani.. bun parota. A never to miss place

Went here as it was the only hotel open during Diwali. Ordered the usual biryani along with Chinese chicken dishes. The taste of all the dishes we tried were average but the gravy given for the biryani was the only satisfying dish for me (and that came free). With prices being a bit overpriced for the taste, can choose it as an alternative when no other restaurant is availabilities.

It's been 5 months since I have dropped in. Their bun parotta is famous I guess. Really it was awesome. Chicken 777 was yummy ,crunchy. Milagu rasam chicken soup was not that hyped. It was OK OK. Situated in the busy roads of avinashi main road. Huge entrance and awesome ambience. When the dish was served there are no necessary traditional addons like lemon, onion and every time I had to ask them. But overall taste - 3/5. Hospitality - 3/5 - they were not quick and one or the other time I need to call them and wait for some time. Needs improvement. Overall 3/5.

Last night visited pink pepper ( they called it fine dine ) . The experience was one of the worse I have had in a year now . 1. There were empty tables but not ready to dine so we had to wait for 10 mins for them to get it ready 2. We were not give water glasses but only two bottles of water . When we asked they gave us glasses with main course ( 20 mins later ) . 3. We had to scout for the waiter to order the food Overall bad experience. Only good thing s the ambience and parking .

When it started it had very good food I uas coming daily for lunch since my office was close by But later the food started to taste bad i mean really bad The rice they are using for meals is very very small broken bad rice and i think its of ration rice They had chicken wong 65 its good if avaiable sonce few times i asked they said its not avaialbe. Now im going to another resturant which is few hundred meters after sms. I havent been in sms for long time and planing on trying sms again and lets hope they changed things. And will update the review accordingly

A very costly restaurant. The quantity of food that they offer is very low for such a high cost. But the taste is damn good. A good restaurant to take ur girl!!

Very good ambience. We went in little late and ordered for briyani and prawn masala. The food was quite tasty but the pricing might be high for Cbe hotel standards :)
