Review Ente Keralam - Coimbatore

ArunKumar Subramaniam
A really good restaurant serving Kerala cuisine options. It was very different for me but I felt good after I ate. Fish here is the specialty and local favorite, and it was good even though I don't eat fish often. Other meat varieties were also good. It is also one of the very few places where you can get beef. Thalassery fish biryani combined with the sides they provided was mind-blowing. Desert here was also good. I would highly recommend "Ilaneer payasam", It was so good that you can eat till eternity. It's a really good place. worth trying.

They serve authentic and delicious food from the region of Kerela. Very friendly staff, amazing service. The Aleppy fish curry was a delicacy, and it was also a perfect combination for the tapioca, and appam. While you visit the restaurant don't forget to try the karimeen fry, which is lip smacking, but surprisingly healthy. Before you leave try the desert 'pal ada pradhaman' that resembles a perfect climax for an everlasting mollywood meal.

Went for lunch with family... As the name suggests they serve authentic Kerala cuisine. I am a hardcore non veg kerala food fan, as it is from my home state. Little expensive, but NO complains about the authenticity. Wow!! Yummy

Kerala cuisine well prepared and good presentation. Tasty food and a good ambience due to which we have made a mental note to go again when we visit Coimbatore next. Only minus point was the music was a little loud and we brought it to the notice of person in charge, hoping it will be taken care of.

The food was absolutely wonderful, from preparation to presentation, very pleasing. We especially enjoyed the special kerala meals with prawn masala was great. It's mouth watering. Bought two plates of biryani and had full stomach... (even took photos so we could try to replicate at home)

Great outlet for authentic Kerala dishes . Tasty food and ambience . Very friendly and polite staff . Little costly , but worth it . Plenty of parking available on both sides of the road , but in house parking is almost nil .

A really good place to spend time with family for lunch or dinner! Quality of the food is awesome, the service is good, ambiance is good. They provide very less variety of kerala dishes.. Food-4.5 Service-3.5 Ambiance-4 Overall-4 They also provide door delivery!

Home away from home! That's the best way to put it. This place servers the best Kerala cuisines in Coimbatore. The menu is very elaborate giving you the most amazing choices. The staff is very polite and pleasant. This place delivers food as well. These are the few things which are must try- Sambharam Mutton stew and Appam Idiyappam and fish curry Tender coconut paayasam Oh! My mouth is watering already. The ambience is awesome. Some people think that this place is over rated and over priced. I don't think so. Considering the quality and quantity of food served and also considering the wide options offered in terms of Kerala cuisine outside Kerala, I strongly feel that it's worth every penny you serve. Keep it up Enter Keralam. Good job!

U can experience authentic Kerala cuisines here. Taste is really nice, staffs are very friendly. Kerala style non veg varieties are nice. Puttu kadala, sadhya, malabar porota and all are were nice. Recommended to experience kerala taste.

Neither the restaurant manager nor the staffs were bothered on their mistake but continued to defend it as freshly made food. Let me tell you guys @ente keralam coimbatore, don't think customers are fools. That you can serve what ever you wish and grab and lot their money. Feels pity on you people. Service of food is a matter of great thing. You don't deserve to in this industry.

Location - Excellent<br/>Car parking - Good ( valet parking)<br/>Ambience - Excellent<br/>Hygeine - Excellent<br/>Staff courtesy - Excellent<br/>Food Menu - Needs improvement (not all listed are served, even on a Sunday)<br/>Food taste - Good<br/>Price - Premium priced (Worth considering their premium service)<br/>Rest room facilities- Good<br/><br/>Summary: Authentic Kerala restaurant. One won't regret visiting this restaurant.<br/><br/>Atleast on Sunday they should try to cover all the items listed on the menu.<br/><br/>

A below average food with high prices. We ordered appam and some Kerala chicken curry..it wasn’t that great.. not worthy to dine in.. simply overrated
Lavinia Annie
Expected a lot but ended up being disappointed! Average food at an overly priced rate. The only redeeming dish was the paayasam.Kappa briyani tasted very bad. Wouldn’t Recommend . Thanks!
Manoj Jeevanandam
Good taste of Thalasery Biriyani but too costly # mutton biriyani is 400+ # Ambience looks good # Adapratha payasam is too good # tradition of Kerala foods #
Jithu M Santhosh
First to say,the dishes are overpriced and it's absolutely not value for money.I ordered Thalassery chicken biriyani which costs us about Rs 330 but It wont match it's rate proposition. The rice was perfectly cooked but there was excess masala in it.Good customer service
RAJA
Price are too much, but food all are waste, cold, storage item.simply waste our money.we order biriyani but they gave me white rice ok we accept, the quality of white rice is cold with no spices. But bill is huge.<br/>

If you want to get a taste of authentic Kerala dishes this restaurant is for you.! Great place and the staff had good attitude. I wanted to try Thalassery Biriyani so went there, the portion size looked small but filled my tummy easy, the chicken was well cooked and juicy, Worth the 5 star but giving it a 4 because the biriyani was not a bit spicy for me since I’m a spice lover but that’s personal so yea.!! Go ahead and this one is a must check out for foodies.!

Excellent ambiance, good taste chicken biriyani🐔🐔😋😋, So friendly customer services, but little costly but taste wise compare its nice....... Pradeesh Wara

Very good experience been to this place. The employees were very friendly and nice service. Ordered a coconut milk soup which was bland when they served. But when we added just enuf salt and pepper it tasted delicious. I wish they serve with enuf salt atleast. May b we can add spice as we wish. It’s a very different and unique soup and I loved it. <br/>Next we ordered a squid masala and red snapper which is a highlight of that day. Both were awesome and tasty and super spicy. We loved it. But those who don’t like spicy can’t take it. It’s a little bit on the above normal level spice. <br/>Thalasery biriyani - it was good. They served with coconut sambal, dates chutney and raitha papad which went very well with their biriyani. <br/>But u shudnt expect normal spicy food biriyani. It’s their own authentic one which is good in its own standards. <br/><br/>Overall it’s a very good experience there. Being a gold member we got biriyani for free and that was another bonus happiness 😄 will visit again to try their other items ☺️

Parking is the biggest issue here..we ate thalassery chicken Biriyani, egg Biriyani and fish curry meals, the taste was nothing special. However the price is really high.<br/>Ambience is on a better level than its food

I visited here for the second time and this time there was a puttu festival going on.... I was surprised to see the menu bcoz thr was various varieties of puttu.... There was many choices for both vegetarian and non vegetarians ... And I had an delicious pine apple puttu that tasted yummy and I ever had a puttu like that.... And I also had a chocolate puttu... They served the puttu with a scoop of vanilla ice cream which added more taste to that puttu......They also have a live puttu counter. That tempted us to eat more when they are preparing the puttu in front of us... The service was excellent..staffs wr friendly ....ambience was mind blowing...must try the new puttu varieties .....😊😍💜

The price a restaurant charges should commensurate for the exoticness of the food, ambiance, service and the quantity they serve. Food is OK, nothing exotic. Ambiance is average, Staff service is fine, but overall value for money is zero. The quantity they serve is abysmal for the price they charge. For example: A starter with 6 pieces of mid size prawns costs over 500. The owner of this restaurant should visit Balle Balle,  That's Y, Bird on Tree and others if they have to survive in this market. Even the newly opened restaurant Zaki is far better than this one. Don't ever go to this restaurant unless you have too much for charity.

Authentic Kerala food. Tried mutton Malabar Biryani and starters with family. Service is good with good ambience.<br/>Quantity has reduced from the last time I have visited.<br/>Hope they maintain the quality and quantity standards

Nice ambience and an authentic Kerala food experience. especially loved every fish dish I ordered. Some of the dishes did have an almost overpowering taste of coconut, so if you are not a fan of coconuts, be wary.
Sathishkumar Ayyasamy
Food was decent. Just loved Karimeen Pollichathu and Parota with Chicken Gravy. Must Try! But, Not happy with the management. Just unlocked Zomato & proceeded with-it. They said, Sadhaya was free at first. But, When we received the bill. They said, It's a combo & can't club with 1+1 on food. They gave Adapradham instead. It's OK! But, Hey Zomato... Try to insist restaurants to follow the rules & they should explain properly about Zomato Gold to the customers.

They serve a costly menu..Everything is highly priced. We cant justify the pricing because<br/>1. Ambience is only average<br/>2. Food quantity is very small<br/>3. Service is also pathetic<br/>4 Taste is almost good ,but not superb<br/>If you want average food for ceiling high price..please check in here

Have been visiting EK in Madras for more than 8 years. Upon the news of EK coming to CBE was a good news as there are not much places around serving Kerala food in a cozy environment. <br/><br/>Visited EK for both lunch and dinner and felt that lunch was the best option for the only reason “Sadhya” the best dishes that had a great wow factor was there Biryani, beef fry, appam, moilee, chicken curry and of course their achar. <br/><br/>It was a pleasant experience for our family every time it was more that 12 pax and they served well with a slight delay in meals but it was overshadowed by the taste of their dishes. <br/><br/>FINAL VERDICT - EK better than OK
Jaya Vishnu Kumar
Have tried only Vegetarian take away here. The price doesn't match it for a take away satisfaction. But however the cost might substitute when suited for that ambiance. I wasn't satisfied as there was something missing. But need to try their Veg.Sandhya or fish curry to comment on a full basis. So as of now 3/5 for Puttu, Kadala Curry and Parotta.

Onam sadya. Priced at 595 plus tax... per plate. Daylight robbery. Quantity served was for thottu nakkan ( just enough for licking). Quality just ok. Very disappointed. Seems the event was planned to milk people. Better you order from caterers

14th July dinner 930pm<br/>Heard about this place earlier...thought of checking it out. So another weekend comes and we push off to EK....The entrance itself had a kerala flavour and the ambience was traditional. Settled down and started with the pepper Rasam soup , the thengapaal chicken soup and mutton soup...I had small portions from all these . The TC soup was very rich and the rasam was equally tasty but the portion was low. Finally completed the TC soup. Alongwith this dived into the thiruvanthapuram chicken dry..which seemed to be a distinct cousin of good old pepper fry. The chicken pieces were quite juicy and tasty. Went forward and ordered for the kerala delicacy..kappa vevichathe. Came in piping hot and reminded me of the traditional meals in south kerala when kappa is accompanied by fish curry. With kappa done and dusted I moved over to the other mallu favourites...aappam and idiyappam...and to keep them company naadan kozhi curry and thenga varuth curry were ordered to the table. The aapam was very soft and easy to sink in.<br/>Phew...i really had enough , the kappa was the heaviest of the lot.<br/>I liked the ambience , the clean location , prompt service ..<br/>another visit soon

The food was good , if you're planning to go to this place don't go for the chicken in the menu , go for the beef , we ordered 2 chicken dishes and both were undercooked . The chef however took the time and re-cooked it. This is the best restaurant I've been to since I've come to coimbatore (the va-pho upstairs is terrible)
Harini
Good authentic Kerala fare. Very polite and courteous staff. The health drinks are really good. However a very limited menu for vegetarians apart from the thali

Loved this place in Chennai.<br/>Hence came here with great expectations and starving stomach ! <br/>The place is first of all too small and every nook and corner has a table <br/>Over crowded<br/>And the food was bad ! <br/>They didn’t have seer fish hence gave us pomfret <br/>Which was fried so deep that it was like a papas touch it and it will break into a 100 pieces <br/>Aapam and curry was another disappointment <br/>I thanked my stars that I didn’t opt for their meal ! <br/>I would have ended up feeling robbed and sick and starved ! <br/>
Priyaa Viswanathan
Good place & attractive ambiance but the dishes wr not that much good may be It is on the basis of Karla but we people felt not so good on taste .. complement dates pickle was different & the service was so good they wr polite & humble .. but not the level we imagined .. & too.. costly doesn't worth

Ente keralam is my all time favorite... Their appam is tempting us to have more and more... U can't stop eating until u don't have space in tummy sooo we use to have tht in end.. all their dishes are delicious and authentic taste of Kerala... My favorite is keraliyam, tender Coco mint mixed drink refreshing.. thiruvandapuram chicken fry is awesome... Pepper prawn fry pricy but we can afford for the taste and karimeen polichadhu is well blended mixture of fish in banana leaf is yummy... I won't miss there spl sadhya in onam... AMBIENCE u feel like u are in Kerala...<br/><br/>Taste - 5/5<br/><br/>Quality - 5/5<br/><br/>Quantity - 4/5<br/><br/>Ambience - 4.8/5<br/><br/>Price - 4.5/5

The restuarant is able to provide quality food and tastes similar to Kerala dishes. The ambience is really good and you get a good feel of being in the god's own country.<br/><br/>A good place to visit with family for a outing!

The place was lovely. We visited this place as a group of 5 friends and all we felt was like 'Man! This is costly. Yeah but it's worth it's 😁<br/>We started eating even before the order was taken! Yeah.. they gave some welcome snacks, chips stuff. The first order was a veg sandhya. The sambhar was so tasty that we took liberty to share the sandhya and the servers they were kind saying, this is not permissible but we are not going to into you people relishing in the taste and we were so happy to hear hat though 😁😉 we ordered Malabar parotta and aapaam. We ordered a beef roast and also ordered a mutta roast as a backup in case the beef roast runs out. But to our surprise, the quantity was so so good that we struggles to finish off the beef itself!! We also ordered the Kerala's most favourite backwater fish 'Karimeen' porichathu. Though it was good the quantity was not satisfactory. It is the only reason that has forced us into giving a 4.5 rating.<br/>And the other day we also tried the non-veg sandhya. Yeah it was good. They served it with squid, mutton and chicken, parotta, idiyappam and papad.<br/>Food - 4.5<br/>Service - 5<br/>Ambience - 4.5 (can use some lighting even during the day)<br/>Pricing - High (it costed 2500 for the 5 of us)<br/>Quantity - Good<br/>Serving time - 20 to 30 mins (though they served the sandhya in 5 mins)<br/>

I was super excited wen I heard that Ente Keralam is opened in Coimbatore. Best place for Kerala food in the city! Sadhya is mi standard order here wenever I feel lyk eating mi tummy full. Ryt from the buttermilk till the dessert, it's flawless👌for that matter any dish that u pick from their menu is divine n authentic... so far I've tried their chicken biriyani, kozhi kurumilagittadhu (pepper chicken), nei meen polichadhu n puttu wit kadala curry. And there is no flaw to point out. And their paal ada paayasam n ada pradhaman are to die for ❤ Food, ambiance, service n everything is excellent here.. N hey thy hv valet parking too..!

Going to a place serving a certain cuisine with a person who is from the place of that cuisine, is something that I always look forward to. And having a friend from Kerala, meant Ente Keralam was always on the cards. We ordered -<br/><br/>Alleppey chemmeen curry - fabulous flavors - no single component was overbearing and not your typical coconut everywhere flavors, fantastically cooked prawns - crunchy and fresh and the right consistency in the gravy made this a perfect companion to either appam or rice.<br/><br/>Appam - soft, fluffy, not too sweet, kids loved it<br/><br/>Malabar parotha - the best I've had in Bengaluru so far! Look at the picture to see what I mean<br/><br/>Weekend special Sadhya - Truly a grand lunch. Fills you up for dinner as well. Small portions, each with a different flavor - breaks one's perception to that Kerala flavors are all about coconut.<br/><br/>above all the  Mutton biriyani !!!! just fabulous ... moth watering..  <br/>Payasam - not too sweet, lovely texture<br/><br/>Vazhappoo cutlet - the banana flower cutlets are something we always order at a Kerala eatery and we weren't disappointed here either.<br/><br/>Ente keralam is a must visit place ...if  you love Kerala cuisine... bit costly  but trust me, worth of every penny you spend.. <br/><br/>they even have Fish curry meals which I will try in my next visit, very soon...<br/><br/>Service was quick and efficient.

A place with good ambiance and great service. Had and official visit to a place nearby to this restaurant. One of the guys I met there suggested this place. The service was quick. Had Appam and Kadala Curry which was delicious. Even though the food was expensive the other aspects are good.

Tday my family nd me decided to eat Kerala food nd we heared abt ENTE KERALAM....ambience was quite ...... nd first we hav ordered for a KERALEYAM- it was a amazing tender coconut punch..... nd we too had starters like CHICKEN FRY nd SQUID FRY nd KARIMEEN Kerala pearl spot fish tastes great........ both tastes gud.......nd I am too impressed with their "MALABAR BIRIYANI" that was fabulous...nd the service was fast nd good......... i felt the authentic taste of Kerala...... 😍😍😍😍😍😍 I loved it very much.......
Vinod Kamath
Ambience is good, but the primary objective - the food is not worth the value that you are paying for!!! Better you can opt for a Buffet at some other leading restaurants. What they are serving as Thallassery Biriyani is not even near to the taste of street Biriyani served at Thallassery!!!!?
Geetika Sunil
I went to the restaurant with my family for a Diwali lunch. I am from Kerala and I know my food. It was our first time at the restaurant but it's most going to be the last as well.<br/><br/>The ambiance of the restaurant is quite good. The seating and set up is quite varied. However, it will not be a place I would recommend in particular for food.<br/>The service time is 15-20 minutes. If you order meals, the food is on your table faster but the breads take too much time. The curry I ordered was supposed to be a spicy one, but getting the taste and texture of the red chilli powder didn't quite appeal to my taste buds. The chicken Biriyani had most of the boneless and extremely chewy kind of meat, I disliked that. The Malabar paratha was very good but it took time. <br/>The portions aren't too great either for the price that's labelled on the dish. The service is alright as well. <br/><br/>My overall experience at the restaurant will be a thumbs down because I expect a little more for what I am paying.
Vaishali Vinod
Ente Keralam has a wonderful ambiance with malayalam songs playing on the background. The place gives the experience of being at the God's own country and is a good place to have a gist on the variety of kerala dishes. The thalassery biriyani was amazing. The meals there were good but not upto mark. The food did not have a malayali touch as much as the ambiance had. Overall the food was really good but overpriced
Shawnnigli1
Visited Ente Keralam as it was the nearest Mallu restaurant with above average reviews.<br/><br/>The food: For starters, we ordered beef strips fried with shallots and fried squid. The beef was overdone so they took it back and brought another fried beef dish(Syrian beef fry) which was deep fried again with too much masala. But the squids were delicious, lightly crisped, juicy and full of flavour.<br/>For mains, we had the country chicken curry with aapams and mutton stew with Malabar parota. Generous portions, the gentle coconut flavour seeped into both the mutton and chicken curry and the pieces were soft and succulent. While the aapams were average, the Malabar parota was fluffy and quite tasty.<br/><br/>We also ordered a refreshing coconut drink with a mint infusion - Keraleeyam. It's a must try and one of the specialities. For dessert, we had a single serving of Tender Coconut payasam, which tasted okay but could've been better.<br/><br/>The service was prompt, and the staff attentive. Ambiance was rather generic. At 500 per head before taxes, for a Kerala specialist restaurant, we expected higher quality food and a more memorable experience than the one we had.

Been there today with my friends and had a good time, I have been here once before for their Onam sadhya that was a different experience and you will have to have a taste for Kerala food, and particularly the Sadhya. <br/>This time it was a weekend get together dinner with Best friends, and it was a good start the staff were very friendly, the place was well kept and managed, the soup, Appetizers were good the, one of them complained about the fish not being fresh and not too many prawns in the prawn dish. I don't eat Non veg so this is a shared experience from the table. Coming to the vegetarian food we ordered the Appam, Parota and had the veg gravy, Avial and the Stew. They all were very tasty. The Avial was not fresh but may be prepared in the afternoon, but the taste was good. they could have tempered and made it look more fresh. <br/>The appam was all poured at once and was brought to the table thought we requested them to bring it after we have finished with the partottas, <br/>Ok the Jeera water was really good and refreshing goes well with the whole Kerala food. So comming back to the main dishes we all had  good time (the vegetrians) the NOn-veg guys also did not complain. <br/>Then we ordered the payasam since we wanted to end on a sweet note, they messed it up they took the payasam from the fridge added milk or water and then server very liqudy! (I don't even know if it is word) but i was very very disspaointed sine i have had their payasams in the Sadhya and they are to die for, may be people dont order them for Dinner. <br/>SO please do not server if you are not making it the way you normally do, it spoils the whole experience. I had taken .5 MArks just for that. <br/>Please visit this place if you like Kerala food.
Rajasekaran Rathinam
Food is normal like street side food but costly. We have ordered kadala curry which costs rs.217, but not that much worth.Porotta each cost rs.53 and they are not much worth. Kappal vevichuthu costs rs.159 which is messy.Puttu alone taste good but costs rs 53. Appam is very very small but costs rs.53. You have to pay for the trade name entekeralam.<br/>

This place sucks, there's nothing authentic about food other than name. These guys were earlier running Bombay Brasserie at the same place which too was a failure. There are so many other Kerala restaurants in city run by Kerala people where you can authentic & hygienic food so avoid these kind of fake guys, who just run a restaurant for namesake and rip off people's hard earned money. Hope these guys will bite the dust soon. Such a shame to city.
Angitha K
Over priced..... food is very normal.... not at all tasty... won't recommend if you love Kerala food.... sadhya is way too pricey.... there are other small restaurant's which serve better food

Been here for the first time...<br/>Really the place is doing well. The food is really good. <br/><br/>* Keraleeyam.. refreshing one. Creamy tender coconut punch<br/><br/>*pepper Rasam: Rasam with black peppercorns. Must try<br/><br/>* Vazhapoo cutlet: Banana flowers chopped and mixed with spices. Crumb fried and they served with beetroot chutney<br/><br/>* Don't miss out the Karimeen Pollichathu ( made from the native kerala backwater fish)<br/><br/>* Thalaserry mean curry , Aleppey mean curry and more<br/><br/>* Paal ada payasam, <br/> Ila neer payasam is one of their signature dessert.<br/><br/>Overall everything is satisfied. <br/>Friendly and Courteous staff. Taking care very well. <br/><br/> Must try!👍<br/>

When in a place like Coimbatore which hardly feels like it's actually Tamil Nadu ,when you have so many Keralites flying all over, you tend to expect a quality restaurant for these guys to dine once in a while, bringing them the 'home away from home' experience. Eventhough there were a few previous establishments which were popular ,run and owned my Keralites themselves, there was none which strictly and purely served Kerala dishes.<br/>'Ente Keralam' is obviously the answer.<br/>Being a popular chain in Chennai, they didn't have to do much about getting enough promotions .<br/>But that's not the entire story. It's an expensive Kerala fine dine in few words .They have great service ,great ambience and pretty tasty food .But it all comes at pretty hefty prices .To the Malayali who is so used to eating Kappa ,Beef,Puttu at very cheap and affordable prices , these price tags are pretty indigestible. Not to mention having to pay 95 for Elaneer Vellam( tender coconut water). They will probably ask "Who you kiddin machane ?".<br/>But no kidding about the various dishes and the taste and flavour they bring with them.Simply delicious .<br/>I feel if it is to really reach out to the Keralites around Coimbatore they really need to soften their rates a bit.<br/>

after a long waiting Kerala cuisine also coming to Coimbatore . <br/><br/>this belongs to Oriental Cuisines Private Limited (OCPL) was originally founded by foodie, professor, restaurateur & entrepreneur<br/> M Mahadevan.<br/><br/>their specialties are :<br/>Karimeen Pollichathu<br/><br/>(Pearl spot – native Kerala backwater fish – marinated and grilled in a banana leaf)<br/><br/>Thiruvananthapuram Style Kozhi Varuthathu<br/><br/>(Chicken marinated with garlic, fennel, chilli paste and deep-fried. A specialty from the capital of Kerala)<br/><br/>Biriyani <br/>(Mildly spiced biriyani – a signature dish from Thalaserry)<br/><br/>and it is on .....<br/><br/>however my experience was little bad with wrong smells in mutton and uncooked food .<br/><br/>even though they have wonderful dining experience . they have tried to bring authentic tastes to town

I was initially sceptical about going to this restaurant but my friends convinced me that this is a good place. <br/><br/>The ambience is very good and so are the waiters.<br/><br/>The food is a bit expensive but items like idiappam and aapam are really good with the vegetable stew.<br/><br/>

Ambience was good and Awesome food. I visited this place with family on a Saturday night. We ordered tapioca biriyani, thalasseri chicken biriyani, ghee rice and Kerala naadan 🐔 curry. The combination of tapioca and beef masala was awesome. Ghee rice with naadan 🐔 curry also too good. But thalasseri chicken biriyani was not up to the mark. Overall it was a nice experience.

Chennai snd Bangalore's Ente Keralam now comes to Coimbatore. Same ambience, same friendly staff and same great food. Probably, being closer to Kerala makes it even more authentic due to easier accessibility to original ingredients. <br/><br/>If Beef (Buff) is not your meat - would suggest going for fish and seafood. Almost everything is good. <br/><br/>The Karimeen pollichethu is brilliant. Whole wheat Kerala Porontha is a good innovation.

If eating at Enté Keralam means "unlimited" sakkara varatti and nenthiram chips as sides, I'm ready to come here everytime I eat out. We, a party of two, checked out everything on the essentials checklist.. puttu, kadala curry, Parotta, appam etc. Neimeen polichathu was awesome. I got confused ada pradaman for Pal Ada pradaman for dessert and it turned to be two sweet for me but my sweet toothed friend loved it. Ambience was decent, it would not exactly set u in the west coast mood, but it's okay. Service was great. Pricing is reasonable.

The Mallu food has its own uniqueness and it is quiet standard with the fish and meat, the Sadhya and its delicious dessert variants.. but this standard limited variants are so mouthwatering that every other time you taste the food, it still gives out a wow factor... Now Ente Keralam-- bloody blew me out of my head to have so much authenticity and as delicious as it could get.. the kerala prawn curry, kappa biriyani , beef roast, ney chor, appam and stew, iddiappam and fish moulie, the non veg sadhya, papadams and off course the Falooda and tender coconut payasam ... So Yum<br/><br/>Boys, brilliant job on your service, the food, the placements and the ambience -- the beauty is that it doesn't even smell hotel... so much like home.<br/><br/>I do understand that it's a bit of a wait even after booking-- but the wait is totally worth it.<br/><br/>Cheers

Authentic kerala dishes with the best taste. The thalasery briyani was top class. Ambience and music can still be improved to induce the feel of God's own country!

Ente Keralam in Chennai was the place to be to satisfy any Kerala saapadu cravings! The branch at Coimbatore had a similar set up at the entrance, the pillars and wooden chairs, all set to embrace the culture of Kerala. The ambience of the restaurant is very satisfying, with soothing Malayalam music playing in the background amidst the decor including traditional dance posture portraits, wooden artifacts and so much more! We went for lunch on a Sunday Afternoon, and had to wait around 25 minutes for a table, so table reservation is highly recommended for the restaurant, especially on weekends. It's centrally located, and stands where Bombay Brasserie once was, and offers valet parking to its customers. The menu is in the form of a newsletter, concise, yet very explanatory of all the exquisite dishes of the Kerala cuisine. We started off with some complementary sarkara varati (jaggery sweets) and banana chips. To be on the safer side, (and since we were super hungry), decided to go for their full sadhya meal. It was served in leaf - shaped plates, with elai on it, and little portions of poriyals, olan, mor kozhamu, sambhar, and what not. I didn't quite catch the names of most of the dishes, and although some of them were regular south indian ones, the way they had been prepared was different. The thali was served with authentic brown/red rice, and the meals were unlimited, so it is super filling, and definitely worth the money. We ended the meal with some Ada Pradhaman and Jaggery payasam, both so perfect I couldn't decide which I liked better! The service was a little slow, but the staff were friendly, and it was definitely a great dining experience at Ente Keralam.

This restaurant seems to have garnered a couple of negative reviews. As much as I respect their opinions (To each his own, I suppose?), I must say that I enjoyed my trip to Ente Keralam. I did visit their Chennai branch, so I wasn't new to the restaurant. As a matter of fact, what drove me to the restaurant was the legendary Appam and Chicken Stew I had tasted at the Chennai outlet. Needless to say, I did order that as well, and I wasn't disappointed either. The 'Karimeen Pollichathu' was fantastic (The Masala more than the Fish!). The 'Kozhi Varutharacha Curry' is also a definite must try. My only disappointment for the day was the unavailability of the "Ammachi Pudding". I'm trying that the next time. <br/>Sure, there are going to be some places in Kerala where you get legendary food, but Ente Keralam is surely not disappointing at all. I'd give it a good 4.0/5.0 rating :)

Average....below expectation.  Food quality is not in line with the high price. No authentic taste. Look like the kitchen staff is from bihar or bengal..

Terrible let down. Went to have a good Easter lunch but the choices were only two set menu , of veg and non veg meals Every item was of poor quality. Imagine being served a slice of bread as one of the items. The broccoli curry was pretty bad and the banana cutlet was more of a potato dish. Many diners were insisting on a full menu.<br/><br/>

Taken for a ride today by the Hotel in the guise of Easter special menu. Their usual menu was not available for lunch. One had to make do with either veg or non veg meals. Almost all items served were below par. The beef ularthu and chicken curry was way below the standards expected from Ente Keralam. To add insult to injury they had the audacity to serve a slice of sandwich bread as part of the meal<br/>On the whole one of the worst dining experiences we have had<br/>

We ordered for a meal and it was rs.395 + tax that comes for rs. 466 and actual cost in menu is 245 it's a trap not worthy . Highly not recommend.

Delicious kerala food. Good ambience. Late serving and limited space for restaurant Hall & parking. Best choice for kerala food lovers. Don't forgot to try kappa kuzhachatu + meen vattichatu.
