Review Neydhal The Coast - Coimbatore

One of the best seafood restaurant in coimbatore. Got a chance to try most of the cuisines in their menu especially Kandhari fish as one of my favourite. Thanks to Neydhal team for having us there and providing a wonderful experience. Would recommend this place to all the foodies out there cheers..!

Food quality was excellent (4.7/5) Especially starters and maincouse dishes. Would highly recommend their fish nirvana and egg appam!! Loved the ambience (4.7/5). Was quite creative. Service was good (4/5) The only thing I would want them to do better is the food prep time. Definitely a go to family restaurant.

We were planning to visit neydhal the coast for sometime now since we had some sea food cravings . We ordered prawns thuvatiyathu , mangalore masala fish , ney podi chicken , some parottas and a chicken gravy . The food was amazing. Especially the mangalore fish masala . The price was around ₹2 per gram which is reasonable i feel for the fish and food in a good restaurant. They also served crab soups with the fish which tasted soo good . The service was excellent. Only the ambience is a let down I feel in which the old neydhal the coast was better . Anyways definitely visiting again with my family for the food and service .

Been looking out for place in Cbe which has squid for a long long time and visited here to taste it. Squid was properly cleaned and cooked well, only thing is they have chopped it into very small pieces which could have been a bit bigger in size. Apart from that we’ve ordered Malabar Paratha with Cuddalore Fish curry. Size of the Paratha was big and it was good. We’ve loved the curry which has 5 prices of curry fish in it. Lastly we’ve ordered Kunafa and Vattelappm. Kunafa was good and vattelappm we felt too much coconut was used in it, we felt it was okay okay. Overall a good experience in having sea food. Ambiance was pleasant n was created in blue light to resemble sea and coast. They also have live fish counter where we can select the fish we need and they’ll cook and present to us.

Good destination for sea food lovers. The Ambience inside the restaurant is exquisite and really customized to suit hotel theme. Food taste is mediocre and quite costly as well. But the meals is really good, Very friendly Staff's. Must try! Fish roast is my favorite here :) After my third visit : they also have live fish option, they have variety of fishes in full size, you can choose anyone and they will prepare that fish for you. But it is quite cosy, 2 rs per gram. After renovation: Still everything remains the same with better ambience and view!

Neydhal the coast, is famous for their seafood spread. Their mango fish curry with hoppers was a lit😍🔥 malabar biryani had a very mild flavour craving for more, prawns was too delicious. We had non veg meals, prawn ularthiyadhu which were amazing, but the biriyani we had was very disappointing. It had not flavour or salt and texture was like porridge.

Atmosphere feels good , The quality in their food is just amazing, loved it. They serve fresh food as well.

If you're visiting here, I would recommend you to have Thali. The quantity is good and taste is up to the mark. Staff is helpful and ambience does total justice to the name.

Very good hospitality of the staffs. I ordered Neydhal special sea food meals on offer. A huge variety of food was served. Wheat payasam was block buster, they give u sea food in addition to vegetarian food. Squid gravy, prawn gravy, fish pollichathu, fish fry and vegetable fries. Food spice level is a bit more, else nothing to complain

One of the best restaurants around.No idea why the ratings r 3.5 but i loved the food. The portions r always huge. They attend to their service properly. Incase if the ordered food isnt available, they do personally call and compensate with other items.Finally its a very good restaurant, bit pricey but obviously sea food tends to be on the pricier side .Everyone shud try here once.

The ambience is really good . They have a wide variety of sea food including octopus, squid etc. which we don't see in a lot of restaurants in coimbatore.. coming to the costing , prices were slightly on the higher side. Overall if you want to have a variety spread of sea food. This is the best in town for it.

Could have served better. That's the only complaint I have. The flavor is fresh. For example the mutton varutharacha curry is a very common dish on chettinad menu but their take on the dish was different and tasted good. Sea food a must try. Overall the experience is good and for the location, the cost is justified

Tasteful food, reasonably priced and prompt service. Must visit if you are seafood lover. The best part is they will give you sample of curries to taste from and order (if you are new to South Indian curries which I felt was a great idea). Great job team NEYDHAL.....

Briyani wasn’t good! Fish was close to being Ok. Panneer chettinad - paneer was way too hard! Chicken lollipop was good Among all ordered items. Needs improvement!

I ordered chapathi and fish fry combo, chapathi was ok, but I ever ate like that fish fry, taste like a rubber and I am unable to bite. That was like a stone, very old fish fry re heated and served. I just throw it waste of money.

A special review for the delivery team and neydhal team. Had ordered through Zomato gold and the portion was very small when it had reached home, i had immediately called the restaurant and informed them.<br/><br/>Within the next 30 mins another parcel was personally delivered to my home, and also the managing director had called to check the situation.<br/><br/>Kudos tot he team, would really develop if you have the repo between the customers and finally Zomato need to look into this missing items during delivery

This is a vegetarian review.<br/>The Ambience is good and the service is best. The staff is humble, polite and gives good suggestions.<br/>I was new to the menu, so I asked for suggestions. Based on that, I got Vegetarian Liver Fry, a dry chettinad preparation and Paneer chettinad gravy which was equally amazing; served with parota and appam. To end the meal, I got Veg Malabar Biryani which was superb, the marinated vegetables topped with ghee rice had a distinct good smell and was great in taste.<br/>Really good experience.

Quantity and taste is good but the quantity of masala/gravy in Malabar chicken briyani is very small and it made the briyani so dry.so kindly add more masala/ gravy to it.

Hi, this is place is for sea food lovers, not recommend for veggies or sea food haters. Food prepared based on seafood is good, other than its just ok... Seems to be using Dalda for biryani which is not good for health. Overall 2 star because of dalda

What a place!<br/><br/>It was our wedding anniversary and we planned to go out to some pub and grab some grubs. But instead we changed the plans and landed here. And what a great decision was that.<br/><br/>Loved the service and the food, of course! The Meen Mulakittath was soo delicious. I am not a fan of fish, but even i couldn't leave it without tasting it. Along with the spicy hot Chicken Kanthari, it was a great dinner. Keep up the great stuff, Neydhal! ☺

A good place for all the sea food lovers. We ordered chicken clear soup and crab pepper soup, they were not exceptional but good in taste.<br/>Some octopus dish (I forgot its name) came in first. It was spicy but the taste was awesome.<br/>Karimeen pollichadhu was good. Yes, when I first tasted I thought oh no, I shouldn't have ordered this because the masala got that tangy flavour as we get in the pickle but as we indulge in it became yummmm.<br/>Emperor red snapper with their two masala varieties was toooo yummmm. Both the masala varieties was good. One was butter n lemon I guess and the other one with the South Indian flavour #MustTryBothTheFlavours<br/>Bluefin Travelly fish with a completely contrast flavour from those masalas was also good. We didn't like much as the other flavours but it was good. It was steamed and came with lemon n garlic sauce and with tomato n garlic sauce I guess.<br/>Bun parotta was soft even after we finished all the above dishes.<br/>Ambur chicken biriyani was good too.<br/>As a parent of a 2yr old my only concern was the lighting could have been better because it was a bit hard to debone the fish n give it to the toddler.<br/>All the staffs were friendly (kids friendly too)<br/>Overall a good experience.<br/>

With lots of expectations we went to neydhal..but we had a disappointing experience , we ordered fish polichadhu , Malabar fish biryani, bun parata , fish koliwada , fish mango Curry, except bun parata nothing was good , the fishes served were not fresh at all and had off odours. We felt the dishes are over priced for the quantity they serve . Fish polichadhu was not the authentic recipe it was just fried fish wrapped with some masala in banana leaf.. this is not the actual recipe<br/>Other than the ambience other things was a total led down. .neydhal has to improve the quality of their dishes and the fishes..

If you are a seafood fan then this place is a must visit. We order appam neer dosa,prawns ghee roast and fish mango curry.. Fish mango curry was spot on. The tanginess and creamy texture of the curry was really good . Neerdosa and prawns ghee roast on the other hand was farfar from the traditional Mangalore cusine.Overall it was a good experience.

I ordered neydhal SPL meals..it was very nice especially fish polichathu and prawn..they were still hot on arrival and great.squid was good..only disappointment was the fish fry that was cold when received and taste was not good..would love to order again..<br/>

I visited the restaurent with high expectations seeing that its a seafood speciality restaurent. I ordered fish molly and appam. Appam was okay but fish molly was a huge letdown. The taste was not upto the mark and the quantity was very less. The fish molly costs 250 plus and what they are giving is very small quantity. Please visit other kerala restaurents serving the same dish and compare their price and quantity along with yours. The next dish i ordered was mussels fry and the one they provided was not properly cooked one. I raised this issue with management and they changed it. They recooked this which was little bit better but i can say that this was the worst mussel i had in a long time. So overall it was a very pathetic experience for me. My only request to management is that please try to improve these issues.

Nice Kerala Style. SPL meals cover all their specialities including Appam and Fish polichathu. Fresh fish barbeque is worth a try. Owner keeps roaming inside for customers feedback which makes the staff friendly. Decent pricing too.

Amazing service, tried the live food, the variety and even the desserts were amazing.<br/>The sting ray meat was fabulous and the appam and the curries recommended were all top notch. And finished it off with some elaneer payasam and padhaneer.

I had ordered the special sea food meals through zomato. Prawns fry was found to be missing and the masala in the fish pollichatu was raw.The gravies were all at their best. Overall an average experience.

We ordered neydhal special meals and had a fulfilling lunch. Out of the five side dish, fish fry and curry were the best, fish poluchadu was ok(masala didn’t merge well), prawns taste can be improved, I am new to eating squid so didn’t like the taste that much. <br/><br/>The meals as such was really good, rice was well cooked. <br/><br/>I am a Zomato gold member but didn’t use the coupon this time. Like to use it next time, hope to get the same reception.

The best sea food restaurant in Coimbatore. I love their Butter Garlic Prawn and Kerala Style Briyani. We can also choose live fish and frozen sea food and we can decide how the fish should be cooked, they have lots of options to cook the fish. Ambience is very good. Must visit restaurant in Coimbatore.<br/>Only issue is although there is lots of space for parking, there is issue to find a spot.<br/>

Ummmm I wasn’t impressed with this place much. First of all its the smell of aquarium.Its a total turn off. I ordered neer dosa and veg curry. Neer dosa was nothing like neer dosa.not even close.Its supposed to be really thin.But it was three heavy dosas. Curry was good.And akuri was kind of different.

Absolute wonderful. The novelty of catching a live fish is great. The chef's preparations of the red snapper was tasty. Perfect blend of spices, perfect masala. The cury was a joy to have with aapam cooked in front of you. Highly recommend Neythal for anyone who loves seafood. Perfectly brewed Neera was the perfect close to the meal.<br/>The service was great and the owner took care to meet every table. Kudos to the owner for bringing this concept to coimbatore!

The spam there was amazing. Really great kerala style food. Order from the menu if you have zomato gold, they have fancy live fish cooking, but it's a little expensive and your zomato gold can't be used. Overall it was a good experience.

Had lunch at neydhal which was of bucket list for a long time...had neydhal sea food meals...bun parotta nd Malabar biryani..was happy to see sea food startes of different types like pepper prawns..squid fry fish fry and fish wrapped and cooked in banana leaf other than regular deep fried starters.They served Appam with veg stew along meals...Appam was little sweet with stew..the fish gravy was excellent..mutton and chicken gravies weren't upto fish gravy mark,maybe coz I had fish first...aviyal and poriyal was also good..and finally ended with fav payasam...only concern was payasam could have been bit warm coz it was too cold..parotta was crisp and tasty..the service was also good...although they was some lag at times but I do understand due to Sunday lunch crowd..overall ambience was good and food was excellent...looking forward to visit again..

Mutton vadachatti soru, kaandhaari fish and elaneer payaasam are amazing. Everytime I go, these 3 dominate the order. The other palate friendly dish is koondhal fry. Need to try other dishes too

We ordered seafood kappa biriyani and malabar chicken biriyani! The food tasted amazing especially the kappa biriyani. The place is always a win-win if you are craving for seafood!

Service is very poor. Restaurant hv no pleasant smell n stinking which make us leave the restaurant fast. Food served was not that hot. It is unsatisfactory overall!

Had high expectations. But was very disappointed. The Ambur biryani tasted like a very average tomato rice, kallumakaaya was bad. Chettinadu chicken was just a bad fry. Nothing chettinadu about it..neer dosa was very very dry, the worst I've ever had. Overall very bad experience. They really have to improve on taste. And yes, the restaurant stinks real had. I understand there's fish but the smell needs to improve.

Meals here was excellent. Appam and veg stew is also provided with meals. Kaara kuzhambu was the best part of the veg meal. Waiters were very polite too.

The cuisine has different varieties of new delicacies and the sea food is really fresh. The staff is friendly and ambience is okay. But everything has a tinge of coconut (malayali cusine) in it and so when ur order arrives everything might be coconut. So order carefully and you can enjoy a nice meal

the porotta we had is too good.. May be the best one in Coimbatore. but the Malabar biriyani was bad. the kamthari chicken also an average one.

Visited this place during my last visit to Coimbatore, on suggestion by friends. Was not disappointed with the experience. The ambience is very pleasant, service is efficient and staff is very friendly. Most importantly, the food was awesome. The menu is quite extensive in coastal dishes. Will certainly come back during my next visit to Cbe..

This place has got such tasty food, their sea food options are good, although a little spicy with some curd you will be able to go through the entire dish. Prices are nominal unless you choose from the “catch your own fish” tub/tank. If you just want eat some seafood with a Kerala mix this is your go to place! Oh and they have very friendly and accommodating waiters :)

Missed the authentic South Indian sea food cuisine in coimbatore and Neydhal has it all.<br/>The raw mango Curry and the Neydhal style fish were great, the unfermented toddy is a must try.

The best fish restaurant in coimbatore. Slightly expensive but still worth the money. The recipes are amazing. We went for the Indian salmon with mangalore style curry . Amazing .

The ambience of the place was not as i expected, the seats were not comfortable for a dine in. As far as good is concerned, few were ok, but I didn't like the rest . Eg. The prawn butter pepper was not good at all. I would not really suggest the place as both my time at the restaurant was unpleasant but I am sure they have got some fresh fish....

I didn't noticed much crowd here during the lunch time during my last 2 visits. The food was not bad. Many fish items available here as it's keralites restaurant, need to try it next time. I am a biryani lover, I tasted only biryani here and it was just above average.

I ordered Neydhal special sea food meals, it was tempting when i read the details, but was not up to the expectation when it arrive, the prawns severed was over fried, i could not recognize it from taste as it was all charred.  Then meen polichathu, I felt they just dipped the cooked fish in the masala and wrapped it in the banana leaf, half cooked, only thing that was good was fish curry, and dal, and for the priced I payed I expect more, not quantity wise, but taste wise.  GUYS YOURS IS A ONE OF A KIND RESTAURANT IN COIMBATORE, TO KEEP UP WITH THE NAME YOU HAVE TO WORK REALLY HARD, WE COIMBATORIANS ARE FOODIES, BUT VERY KEEN ON OUR TASTE, SO BRING THE BEST, DON'T TRY THINGS WHICH WILL NOT DO ANY GOOD TO YOUR REPUTATION.  Hope you would take my feedback seriously, and work on it while preparing the food.

Veg Pulav and Egg fry, looked good but the rice wasn't properly cooked. Egg fry was fine but still failed to fulfill the expectations. Neydhal The Coast- May be some dishes might be good but the one's which I choose was a forgettable one.

For a change wanted to have veg the best option is neydhal the coast for a lite tasty dinner veg liver fry,panner kanthari dry appam it was amazing taste families and kids the food service is quick as well staff are friendly..would surely visit again...

Was keen to have a sea food lunch.. however this one did not meet expectations whatsoever..The chettinadu vanjaram fry, the Fish was Stale.. The next on the order was Rawa fried fish..the Rawa coating was so thick that we could barely taste the fish...The mutton curry with appam was the only passable and saving grace for the day...I am surprised with such great reviews here... whatever went wrong ... Will need time to build up the courage for another visit..

Delicious, fresh and live sea food...<br/>We experimented with the conch and mangalore style marinated live fish and both were very well prepared and presented. Also we ordered butter garlic prawn and a deep fried squid which were delicious as well.. special mention on Abliash who runs the restaurant, he is always available and helps in ordering the apt dishes and keeps getting the feedback of the dishes on the go and best part is that he never pushes you to order the live / exotic dishes which are quite expensive than the regular dishes .
