Review Manisha's Sea Food - Colva

Aaloke Surie
Lunch & Dinner Place only. Make sure you get the timings right. 12 to 3 & 8 to 11 pm. Run by a Lady Chef Owner, exquisite curries, authentic. Must Visit, absolutely fresh food, mildly spiced, a neat small toilet as well. You may or may not like the ambience, but the food is finger licking good. The front appears small, but it's in a corner and it's kind of three side open. Well located on Colva Beach with crazy pricing: you can't ask for more. Eat every day after a beach visit

Its a minute walk to Colva Beach. Place looks very basic. I only had their goan Thali and it tasted really good. Fish curry, vegetable stir fry, prawn & coconut chutney, fish fry everything tasted really good. Nothing fancy. But food was good. At night mosquitos are a problem since it's outside.

A very good fish thali, limited variety but everything on the plate was very tasty. It's just off the beach and has parking available. I feel the servers can be more welcoming, else it was a good experience.

One of the decent place & affordable restaurant to try on the colva beach… food quality is amazing & price is very reasonable despite being on the most famous & most crowded beach of south goa.. Have been visiting this restaurant since last 15+ years & the quality is still the same. One moe highlight of this restaurant is that they always have fish eggs (gaboli) in stock

Have been coming here for a long time, we get great fish thali over her. We usually buy chonak, fish waffers, bombil n drinks . Service is very fast and the staff is very friendly. Very reasonable rates. Even the chicken items are tasty. I always come with my family. Crowded during peak season.
Rikta K
Amazingly fresh and delicious and affordable seafood just next to the colva beach entrance. Don't miss out the chonak and prawns rawa fry and their fish thali!

Best fish thali and kalamari garlic fry in Benaulim-Colva area. Must visit

Food taste is fantastic . Only draw back , for lunch time the place is humid and very hot being close to the beach. So overall experience was not great. But recommend for trying their thali's and goan fish soecials

Great place for Goan style sea food. The taste and portion was great. Loved prawns curry. Plenty parking space. It has open seating, gets too hot during peak afternoon, no booze though only local beers. Chicken and egg dishes were good as well.

Looks like a shady place initially so on our first day to Goa we didn't visit. Later went in there by someone's recommendation. The food is good standard Goan Food. We had a Fish Thali which was pretty good in taste. We even ordered prawns masala fry which was a little sweet for my taste buds but decent. This place is highly recommended if you are looking at Authentic Goan food and absolute value for money. Also they serve Thali for Lunch and Dinner which is a big plus plus.

The reviews are pretty much all over the place for this eatery. My experience here was great! To be clear, it's a seafood shack and not a proper restaurant. Tables are set out under the shade of a house by the beach. Our taxi driver recommended this place as serving amazing seafood. We were pretty unsure of the place owing to its looks, but I'm glad we gave it a try. This place had the best garlic prawns I've ever had, and the fish curry thali was amazing. The waiter was really polite and patient with us since we had no idea about many of the foods that were listed on the menu. He told us the owner had their own boat and almost all the seafood was brought in every morning, man our fish and prawns very fresh! Looking at other reviews, I guess I'm lucky to get great food here. Prices are decent as well and depend upon the produce they work with on that day. We paid 170 for the thali and 500 for the prawns.

After much hype....I planned my viait to this small food joint christened "Manisha's Seafood Restaurant"...the place is just on Colva Beach....I ordered a Squid Rechado and honestly it was far from all the appreciations and comments I read on Zomato. I gathered some courage and placed another Order for Prawns Curry Rice....And yet another delivery of tasteless dogfood.....the curry settled at the bottom and water floating at the top....Prawns were hard due to over boiling them and the price tag it boasted was exorbitant......My recommendation to all the peeps is we need to stop visiting this place till they either change their Health n Safety Standards or the management......I wish I could give them a -ve marking so that they could stop risking their patrons life but Zomato doesn't let you do that so be wise and decide......happy eating guys

No proper ambience. Not cooked properly. Shabby place to sit. Drinks also costly as compared to other outlets. Needs tremendous improvements

A no frill dhaba type restaurant that was recommended by the nearby shops for good Goan cuisine. Amazing preparations of Goan sea food and specially their thali (both veg and non veg) is a must try.
Reasonably priced they also arrange for beer although it’s not in their menu.

Simple and delicious authentic goan food , Rating is only based on food as ambience is desi near beach side.
Price is also reasonable.

If you crave for a proper goan food this place is good to give try.

Brilliant Fish thali here. A definite perfect lunch diner to feed yourself at. Nothing much to say, it's all about the food. Will always lunch it out here.

I am not someone who would rate any place so low.
This review is not at all for food. You need to get a chance, a welcome and a mood to eat at any place.
We did not even take a table. I will tell you the reason why.
We wanted to have thisri's (shell fish) and apparently this place serves the best of thisri's in colva. So we land up there in the afternoon. Being off season, there were empty tables. In fact just 1 table was occupied. So we walked into the place and we saw all the stewards sitting at a table. They saw us coming in but no one bothered to get up and meet us half way. We went up to their table and asked if they had thisri's. None of them stood up and they answered with a 'No'.
I asked for the menu card and we were told "wo table pe hai dekho".
That was it. The end of Manisha for me.
We turned around and walked out. Still no one bothered. :)

This is by far the one of the best "FISH CURRY RICE" in goa! They serve various other items but are best known for their fish preps! Ambience was pretty shady and service pretty slow hence the average rating...

Food: If you want to have Goanese food this is quite a good place. Chicken Xacuti was really tasty. Overall the food here is tasty and they offer great food at a really reasonable price. There is nothing as ambience here and customer service needs to improve a lot.
I had been to Manisha, Colva in the year 2015 in the month of December more than thrice and their food was good no matter what. The only problem was there were stray cats and dogs all over the place and they would disturb the customers and sit under the table. Few days back I visited this place again. And the food was terrible. I ordered lime soda, mixed fried rice, fish, fish curry rice, chicken chilly dry. Every item had some or the other problem. It was disappointing since we had lots of expectations. We had to wait for more than half an hour for the food. Overall a terrible experience.

This place is worth your money. Get a few beers on the beach shacks on the colva beach and then head here for lunch. King fish rawa fry was really good. Calamari fry was above avergae and fish thaali @140 is all you can want.

Its a very small and saggy shack infront of colva beach. Beside kentuckee and babu musai. We were staying at Akasia resort. So its walkable for us. Dont expect about ambience or hygiene. Checked the price in the menu and its quite pocket friendly. Ordered lepo fish rawa fry, non veg thali, 2 garlic butter nan, allu matter and dal tadka. The lepo fish rawa fry is just awesome, one can have 2 plates for easily. Just sprinkle some salt and start with a glass of beer. A perfect combi. The garlic nan and dal tadka was equally good. Now came the non veg thali, which has a king fish rawa fry, rice, beens coconut curry and one more curry which I forgot and the pickle. A must try for ppl who want to have goan dish. Will must visit again. Please try to maintain some hygiene and garnish the dish so that it looks presentable.

Another day where I was on a spree of trying Fish Thali. I must say the food was exceptionally good. The decor is very sad, but the food quality is a saviour. Apparently heard the owner of this small joint is the largest supplier of fresh fish. Very easy on your pocket and a good joint for people who don't care about the ambience but come to eat for the taste. It's located at the entrance of Colva Beach on the extreme left.
Arun
This place is slightly interior. We tried a prawn fry and paneer starter. Good taste, but the price was seemed to be higher compared to food quality.

A little difficult to locate this place as it's not easily visible from the main area. The ambience is awful to say the least but the food more than makes up for that. We had squids masala fry which was delicious, the batter fried version was just about fine. Lepo rawa fry were not at all good. Two items that stood out were Bombil Rawa fry & Chonak Masala Fry. Both were exceptionally tasty. Can't really call it a typical Goan style item but it had very good taste. The major drawback is the ambience which is frequented by cats & flies and nobody can do anything about that as it's an open restaurant.

I too had been to this place after zomato reviews and trust me its truly like the reviews. Ambience is okayish but the food is toooo good. If u wanna have real goan food, then this is the place. Yumm. We had prawn masala and modso garlic fry and cheese garlic naan. Superb. Don't miss this place if u are a foodie.

Food was delicious and fresh.

Service was fast and the Staff always clear your empty plates.

We ordered Fish Thali, Tandoori and Naan.

Price is reasonable.

Love the Tandoori and Naan so much, the Mint sauce was marvelous.

This is one of those places that score horrible on ambiance but brilliant when it comes to the food they serve.
The seafood is exceptional here.

Manisha 23 july 1pm

Ordered for fish thali , macarel fry in recheado , butter chic and steamed rice.
All fresh and well cooked. Fish was fresh .
We also ordered for schezwan veg rice and chic manchurian. Both winners made typical ibduan kitchen style.
I will be coming back again for lunch.
Macroy James Fernandes
It's the best place in south Goa to get your dousage of fish. And fish is what they do best . Also try their fish thali won't be dissapointed
Adarsh Balakrishnan
Located at prime location with everyone talking@ much about this hotel, its taste and affordability. King fish is out of this world. Somehow the entire non veg category had the goan ingredients at the back of its mind. Services tend to get a little slow if you are seated at the entrance....

I had come here for their fish thali and all I can say is - Avoid.

They served cold fish curry which was not at all tasty and mostly watery.

But their starters and seafood items are amazing. We ordered for prawns masala fry, squids masala fry and Modso fry. All these dishes were cooked really well and were absolutely delicious!

Good
- seafood items are great
- location. Right at the entrance of colva beach

Not so good
- lot of domestic tourists!
- worst fish thali
- seafood items are priced slightly on the higher side

Don't go by the appearance of the place.
One of the freshest and the best seafood in colva. Ask them what is fresh before ordering. Had great squid fey here.
4/5 for food. 2/5 for ambience. 3/5 service
