If you are in Darjeeling and if you are looking for vegetarian food, do not go here and there, you should be right here. Whether you are looking for Punjabi food, South Indian food or fast food your desired destination is here. Authentic taste with family and kids friendly atmosphere. What else do you want ?

One of the few pure vegetarian restaurants in Darjeeling, visited with my family on first day of our trip. The ambience was good with ample amount of seating. We ordered dal, shahi paneer and mix vegetable, the food was amazing and very tasty. Most importantly the service was perfect, loved the smile on each face and the welcoming and helpful behaviour. Will definitely recommend this place to everyone.

We initially went for breakfast and enjoyed the Utappam and Dosa so much, we went back for dinner the same evening. The food was tasty and fresh. The restaurant was clean and comfortable with a great view. We were shown excellent & friendly hospitality by Naveen.

We had breakfast at lunar twice while we were visiting Darjeeling. We all loved the food there. The dosas were amazing. The Puri bhaji was also very homely.
The staff was courteous. The overall experience was great.
Would definitely go there whenever we visit Darjeeling again.

We had plain onion dosa, dal fry and butter kulcha.
Taste was average, service was average, cost is very high, they even charged double for packaged mineral water.

We landed at Lunar after a strong recommendation by the owner of our homestay and weren't disappointed at all.

Location. Mall road entrance. You'll have to walk some distance before reaching LR. It's an uphill walk from Darjeeling main to reach MR.

Ambience: Very relaxing, neat & clean but nothing extraordinary.

Menu: Standard mix of North Indian, Indian Chinese and South Indian options

Staff: Polite and courteous

Food Quality: This was the highlight. It's actually good. We loved it so much that we came back again. Try chicken manchow soup. My fav!!

Rates: Equivalent to Delhi

This place is located near to Ramada in Darjeeling Chowk.
Went to this place for dine-in on Sunday evening. All the tables were almost full, we luckily got a table.

Pros-

> Polite and courteous staff
> Good Ambience
> Clean utensils
> Quick Service
> Excellent Location
> Food was good as compared to other indian cuisine restaurants in the locality.
> Tawa roti was cooked properly.

Cons
> Food is good but there is huge room for improvement
> No onion . You have to buy an onion salad which costs โ‚น75.

The pricing of a few dishes might seem to be on a higher side but the pricing is fine if we take service ambience and location of the outlet.

I feel it was a great restaurant for veg people in this city. We had ordered chilly panerr, aloo gobhi for us in food. In breads we had taken laccha paratha and garlic nan. Everything was pretty good.

A long trip in the North East might make you feel that the world of food starts and ends at Momos and Maggi. That is when a place like 'Lunar' in Darjeeling will make you believe that there is more to food than that.

We were amazed to have authentic South Indian food in this place. The idli sambar was refreshing. Their North Indian sabzi and fulka are also lip-smacking. The restaurant is almost always bustling with tourists and the well-appointed uniformed staff are quick at service. This is one of the best places to have vegetarian food in Darjeeling.

The ambience is decent. The service is good. The washrooms are clean. They do not accept credit cards. They charge 5% GST on food bill. An average meal for 2 should cost around Rs 600.

Taste: 4/5
Ambience: 3/5
Service: 3/5
Value for money: 4/5
Overall rating: 3.5/5
