Review Mohan Eateries - Darjeeling

We were 3 of us, very small and cosy place (max seating 8members). We tried pork, chicken and beef thali. 250/thali🤩 Definitely must go as it is authentic homely Nepalese food😋

A small local joint that is quite popular for nepali thali. We had gone after lunch time so have ordered chicken momo and chili pork. Chili pork was just perfectly cooked and decorated with cucumber and freshly cut tomato and tasted heavenly. And momo was decorated in a leaf basket and placed with a runny soup. This soup was nothing that much of spice but tastes like so good. If you looking to taste anything like this, please visit this place. It is just beside the mahakal restaurant

A super small yet cozy eatery on the side of kev's. Nepali thali is to die for. Super cheap too. A thali will cost you 200 INR with rice and daal refill. You can also buy pickles from here. This is not a fancy restaurant but if you love food then Mohan Eateries is a must visit. Beside Thalis you can also get momos and chowmin here. The place can hold Max 7/8 people at a time. Like most places in Darjeeling you don't have a parking space here.

I don't know if many people know about this eatery but it was suggested to us by our local driver when we wanted to try out authentic Nepali thali on our trip to Darjeeling. The food is wholesome, warm and fullfiling. We order chicken thali and veg thali. It was too good. The dishes were very similar to what we have in a Bengali household but had a distinct taste. The chutney and powder provided with the thali also added a nice kick to the meal. Must must must visit. Also, Mohan is very hospitable and friendly. He also arranged a car for us to return to NJP and made sure we reached safely. Beautiful experience!

I found this little hidden gem just near of Darjeeling keventer. They serve authentic Nepali food. I ordered pork rice, chicken rice and momo. They were superb. All the staff ans and the owner are brilliant host, they gave us full details of the way they cook the food. I really liked the way they make food and treat with guests. Please do visit when you are in Darjeeling next time.

What good is it if you claim yourself to be a foodie and haven't tried local cuisine. We were recommended to this place by our cousin and we were glad we gave it a try. The interior will give you a rustic musical vibe with photographs of ancient Darjeeling and then comes the hospitality and food. I loved their pork thali, dry Buffalo meat and thukpa and the warm hospitality. Impeccable taste within a reasonable budget and an amazing location definitely makes this place a must try if you are craving for some Nepali delights

Specialized in authentic Nepali cuisine, Mohan Eateries is regarded as a hidden gem of Darjeeling! It is a tiny shop located just below and opposite to Keventer's. *It offers various non-veg thali. (The meat preparations were very basic). *Veg thali is also available. *Momos are served in doko (traditional bamboo basket) on a local leaf. *Buff sukuti is a must try! (The meat was not very tender). *If you pre-order, you can have Rhododendron wine (in Spring). MUST TRY! *The restaurant is really small. Perhaps a maximum of 10 people can have their meals at a time. So they take little longer to serve the food.

We had dinner at Mohan eateries during our trip to Darjeeling. The restaurant is small but very well kept. The music is awesome and so is the ambiance with the blue lighting with the cassattes and records on display. We had pork and beef fry and the food was great. The service was quick too. The thalis were quite tempting but we were not planning for a full meal so went for the fry instead.

I have been here in Mohan eateries at Darjeeling, mall road. Its my favourite place there. Though it's small , mini place. Food there is awesome. Thupka , Nepali thali too good. Simple, presentation. Food taste so good , that seven star hotel too does not better. Don't feel bad, sometimes small places turns out to be game changer and impressive.

If you are in Darjeeling and want to relish really palatable authentic Nepali cuisine, this is the place. Though the place is really small, their hospitality and the quality of the food is commendable. The price is cheap too. But what they lack is variety. You have to take rice thali with two-three options of meat to choose from. You should definitely try it if you are in Darjeeling.
