Review Doon Darbar - Dehradun

Good taste. Had chicken seekh Kabab. Chicken biryani, Butter chicken and butter naan. Authentic taste. Owners need to focus on hygiene as cockroaches can be seen in restaurant. Onion rings served was unclean.

Doon Darbar is a predominantly Non Vegetarian speciality Restaurant in Dehradun. We visited this particular branch in Gandhi Road. We ordered 1. Chicken Biryani which was indeed a delicacy with sublime flavours. Quantity offered is ample - Full is enough for 2 persons. 10/10 2. Tandoori Chicken which was spicy and savoury. 10/10 3. Kheer was dense and thorough enjoyable, they are served in small earthen plates. 10/10 4. Chicken Shawarma- It was a bummer. Not upto the mark, filling was not why generally what we expect of sharwarma, it felt like chicken roll and is entirely avoidable. 1/10 Staff is cordial and service is fast. Seating capacity is ample. Parking is not available as is the case with congested Dehradun.

Everyone has recommended this place for dinner. Just half km from clock towet. Kebabs are amazing. Their best dish is spl changezi chicken with tandoori roti/rumali. Non veg is halal. & in sweets gulab jamun is the best.

Found this as one of the best restaurants in Dehradoon. The food is super delicious, the quantity is more than sufficient, and the staff behavior is very polite. The taste is authentic. The prices are also decent for budget-friendly people compared to the taste and quality of service. Overall, the perfect place to go with friends and family to enjoy authentic taste.

Visiting this restaurant since more than 10 years now. Go to this place if you want to taste authentic Mughlai food which in terms of taste, is very close to Old Delhi restaurants. Staff is polite and food is served very quickly. They have different section for packaging so you don't have to wait in line. They have a proper waiting section as well where you can wait while waiting for your food to get packed. The place can be slightly costly depends upon your budget but do try this restaurant at least once just for it's authentic taste. Do try their Mutton Korma and Chicken Shawarma as well. These are the highest sellers. Overall, perfect place to go with friends and family to enjoy authentic taste.

Biryani was ok, mutton seekh kebab was ok, overall I was disappointed in my today's visit. Previously some six to seven years ago I was impressed.

The food is great, special mention for the naan which is a huge khameeri roti. The breads and non - veg is delicious and what it's known for. The place is big with two floors available to sit and eat. A minor thing we noticed the staff was a bit too serious , rude and a manger was constantly sitting there and micromanaging things.

Biryani comes without salad and chatne. And its not frst tym..they alwys serve biryani without salad and chatne.

I ordered a lot as I am your long time customer but I am really disappointed as the plastic was torn and the foil was not put properly as the naans were open and cold.

First think i want to clear everyone is that the Food of Doon Darbar is Good enough..! But A resto is never rated on just food..! The staff is pathetic , unprofessional, Dirty and too noisy . I aways prefer to order from Doondarbar than to go there and eat..! i cn bet you by the time you will finish your dinning in DD the exact time it will take to deliver through zomato..!

Odered for half chicken changezi, but received a quarter.after delivery neither the support team is there nor the delivery guy picking up the call..Support team lack of contact is what is pathetic.

The food wasn’t fresh . It had so much oil can’t even tell u. The butter naan was like a kulcha, absolutely tasteless.. how could u deliver such pathetic food to people !! Chicken was smelling . So so bad . Will never order from this restaurant & would recommend each n everyone out there to never go for it until n unless u wanna fell sick n waste ur money.

Careless attitude

yesterday, night I ordered kadhai chicken with rumali roti combo. taste good. but now my stomach got pain and I feel not well. don't know what happened to me. from 5 am I am continuously going washroom.

Daal makhni is too salty

After eating the food we had upset stomach the whole day- 2 of us. While on a whole gravy was good, Chicken was old and probably unhealthy. Very bad experience - Do not order from this place.

#uttarakhanddiaries ; Chicken Changezi, Khamiri Naan and Muttor pulao from Doon Darbar restaurant, Dehradun! Each time while having this, I was completely in a #foodcoma mode. For all the foodies out there, the best moment for all us is when u really enjoy the meal you eat. And when the food is rich and yum in terms of its quality, happiness is bloomed all the time 😊.<br/>_<br/>What I had: Khamiri Roti is a mughlai flatbread which was an exceptional combination with the Chicken Changezi. It's a very fluffy, soft and spongy bread made up of sour bread and they are made in a tandoor. Chicken Changezi is another famous mughlai dish in North India and that too it has a very unique flavour. The chicken is roasted and then cooked in rich tomato based gravy made of milk and cream! The Muttor pulao was absolutely delicious and the Malai Chicken tikka (dry) was so juicy and tender. Best drools ever!!! 🥰

The checken they delivered was not fresh and the smell was too bad I had wasted my money to order from this restorant. I ordered two item in chicken but both the item was very bad.

The food preparation was below standard. Chicken gravy was so spicy dat couldn't eat n was discarded. The rotis were undercooked. It was a worst experience and we had to wait for at least 2 hours and the food was not upto the mark.

We went there on holi last year with my parents..<br/>Restaurant was smelly and unhygienic...but we were in a cab.. on my way to noida...<br/>So we have no other option..<br/>We ordered some chicken curry and breads alongside biryani...<br/>Total clumsy staff..not courteous at all.<br/>The food was served after 30 min....and after that salad was not there.<br/>Need big improvement on this service area..<br/>Food was just average... nothing special....qorma was filled with uncooked oil and biryani was totally different as it should be.. although breads were okay...<br/>Over hyped place....needs improvement..

Personal dining experience was not that good because of the cleanliness but the response time and service were impeccable.<br/>Fast and efficient with above average taste in various non veg items.

Never send salad after mention

Ordered a full portion of chicken biryani. Just about the worst Biryani ever made. No spice, no flavor, no character, even basic spices such as cumin, cardamom etc. were missing . Micro pieces of boiled chicken tossed in rice does not qualify as a Biryani. If you can’t make basic Biryani, please leave the restaurant business. My advise just follow the textbook recipe and you can’t go wrong. Better not to list a dish then deliver badly made food and loose clientage.

I was waiting with my frnd for daaaru party and i orderd 2 half butter chicken and 2 half panner tikaa butter masala for snacks but they dont reach in time and my frnds get upset and also blaim after that i tell my frnd for wait just 15 min i will call the delivery agent but as soon i will cal to delivery they (doon darbar) cancelled my order
