Short on space, but big on taste! ⏩ Dishes to Try - Pahadi Style Chicken (Starter) - Murgh Masala (with Lachcha Parantha/Missi Roti) - Mutton Curry with Steamed Rice - Add a Thums Up to make it a perfect combo 👌

Located on the mussoorie road amongst a chain of restaurants, that stands out in imparting a pahadi touch with its interiors and aesthetics. A quiet, serene place place with a decent ambience. Food was at par with what you'll find in most other restaurants. Staff, in particular, was generous and the response to orders and requests were complied expeditiously. Parking is available. Outside dining is available. Great quantity. (If you are looking for some pahadi food in the city,do give a try im sure you’ll not regret🤤)

There are very few eateries or restaurants that manage to maintain the authenticity theme and the aura of their roots. This place not only defines Garhwal by its name but also the interiors are moulded to give it a perfect desi village look. Talking about food its perfectly cooked keeping in mind the authentic flavours and ingredients and the taste will just mesmerise you. We ordered a garhwali thali to keep in the aura it no doubt it was amazing. A soup was served prior which had great amount of garlic and it went so well. For the starters we were served dal pakoras they were so good crispy and they definitely increased our appetite and we couldn’t wait much for the thali to be served. The thali was presented well on tamba 2 sabzi both being very authentic and different from the other , mixed dal, roti , chajh, jaggery, red rice ,kheer. It’s a amazing place to have some authentic food. . Follow us on Instagram We_foodaholics for more reviews and scrumptious food pictures.

After having lived in this region for the past 23 years now and having tasted a variety of food, I finally found my go-to place for the most delicious and authentic Uttarakhandi cuisine. A shoutout to all who are travelling to Uttarakhand, do stop at Desi Chulha (on the Mussoorie diversion on Rajpur Road) and try the local snacks and dishes there. You will leave nothing less than happy, full and deeply satisfied with a craving to visit again... Kudos to the couple - Mrs. Shikha and Mr. Surendra Anthwal for the wonderful ambience, delicious food and for being the perfect host!!

Traditional Desi restaurant with quality food! Vegetarian and non vegetarian both options are available here. They are specialists in serving traditional food such as pahari items, which I’m sure foodies will appreciate , tried pahari soup, was amazing!! And their specialty ‘mix sabzi’ with mandwa naan and masala lassi , food was great, looking forward to try their items too next time. Well obviously overall experience was good but not great due to few glitches, one we found a nice live cockroach on their table walking freely like it was his own backyard, secondly service was slow, although staffs behaviour and etiquette’s were optimal. So in a nutshell, give it a try and enjoy the food.

Desi Chulha is one of the oldest restaurant in the town serving authentic Uttarakhandi cuisine since 2016. In a world 🌍 where everyone is crazy for dimsums, pasta, noodles etc, coming out with such Pahadi delicacy needs admiration 👏🏻👏🏻. ⭐️This restaurant has a very comforting atmosphere with some conventional interior decor ✨✨. Talking about it’s scrumptious food 🥘 , whether you are Vegetarian or Non-vegetarian, Pahadi or non pahadi, you will surely fall for it ♥️ . They serve amazing Veg and Non veg Gharwali thalis . ✅Their menu includes : a) Pahadi Traditional Thali, b) Mutton Thali, c) Chicken Thali, d) Chainsoo, e) Jholi, f) Pahadi Chaap, g) Mandwa roti with butter, h) Bhutwa Biryani I tried their PAHADI TRADITIONAL THALI : This thali has Jhanghore ki kheer , Pindaloo , Kafila, Butter, Bhatt dal Bhaddu, Manduwe ki roti , Red rice with jakhiya tadka . I love the mixture of spices and the subtle flavours. Everything was really erotic, the aroma of spices were so sensuous. Jhanghore ki kheer was just out of the box📦 . This sweet dessert is just perfect for people who have a sweet tooth 👌🏼. So if you are fond of Pahadi food then this is your go to go place 👍🏻👍🏻. Trust me you won’t regret it at all !!! Highly recommend ✅

Nice outdoors, interiors are nice but a little smelly. We had the Pahari ( Garhwali) food like Gahet dal, Aloo gutka, Shikar Gosht curry with Mandua roti and Red rice. Food is good ,service is amazing.

Desi Chulha is one of the finest family restaurant across Dehradun. Located at Pacific hills, musoorie road, Dehradun. This is the best restaurant in terms of food they serve and also the warm and pleasent atmosphere around the place. This restaurant is based on Garhwali Traditional theme and the menu will surely provide you a glimpse of the same. Must try the starters(Veg kebabs, Cheese rolls, Honey chilli potato, etc.) Also try there main course Garhwali daal(Bhaddu dal), sabji and mandwe ki roti.

Well, the name should suggest a lot. This eatery offers very traditional “Garhwali” food, served by waiters dressed in the traditional “garhwali” outfits with the right amount of enthusiasm. There is traditional “garhwali” recorded music played as well. But somewhere along the way, the management got lost. First up, the waiters need to be changed, well, most of them, or they need to be taught how to respond. We faced waiters who appeared confused and that too at a time when there was no one else in the restaurant, at about 9.00 pm on a sweltering summer evening. The ambiance though again very ethnic and traditional needs a lot of improvement. The floors, which were initially intended to be rural, I guess, are now dirty and appear grimy. In a restaurant that is not good. The air conditioning is woefully inadequate and we had to ask for fans to be placed next to our table. So if that place were to be filled up, you can imagine what would happen. The one long wall, was dirty and had a huge crack in it. If that was intended, the management needs to relook at the whole traditional idea of theirs, because such cracks do not aspire confidence in the place. They have no “attached” washroom at all and you need to use a common one, situated downstairs that is common for the entire complex. Their exhaust fan really needs to be replaced at once. It is noisy and hums very loudly that effectively drowns out most soft conversation. Management, are you listening? However, if you can ignore everything except food and that too traditional “garhwali” food, well, then this is the place.

Amazing food!!! Was in Dehradun in Dec and chanced upon this restaurant. They serve some amazing pahadi food. Be it veg or non veg, everything was great. The service was also warm but do be patient. We visitited it multiple times in the short time that we were there. Please promote this place. It deserves to stay for years to come.
