Dehradun and Chinese food is conspicuous and we can't deny that feeling. Visiting outpost was completely fortuitous. We ordered lung fung soup and chicken momos. The taste was absolutely mouth watering. And till date craving for its food lasts. Quality is well maintained, decor gives you a feeling of old Rajpur restaurants and owner is quite humble.

A compact place to dine in . The food is okay but the prices are little high as compared to the place
We had Fried Rice and Manchurian here , the taste was nice .

The food was simple and delicious. The vegetarian options were extensive. My recommendations is the fish in oyster sauce and the mixed vegetable stir fry

Next to Goa it is only in Outpost that you get yummy prawns. It is a cosy place with amazing food, brilliant service and value for money. Highly recommended by a connoisseur of good food....ME

When it comes to Chinese food, flavours are king and that is precisely what makes me a regular at Outpost. Good things do come in small packages!

Always been a great place for good chinese food. Very small restaurant but quaint.
Polite staff with good service experience.
Food is very tasty and the momos esp are delicious. Overall a good place for tasty asian food.
They need to sign up for zomato delivery.

Had dinner here a couple of days back. Having read so many good reviews, we were rather disappointed. We ordered chicken lung fung soup, chicken hoisin sauce, chilli garlic noodles and a vegetable American chopsuey for the lone vegetarian.
The soup had no flavour. The corn flour thickened stock was just garlic flavour with minuscule pieces of chicken. The hoisin chicken was rather bland and nothing much to talk about. The American chopsuey was mediocre with an excess of sweet sauce. The noodles were just tolerable. For the price, the meal was very very disappointing.
The saving grace was the ambience and decor. Well that really didn’t help us in elevating our mood after we finished our meal.
The payment was in cash even though cards are accepted here because the owner was not present. Quick service was the only thing that was good here. Will not visit this place again

A quaint little restaurant that can be a little hard to locate, but the amazing food here ensures you keep coming back for more. The portions are generous and the prices are low - a combination I love!
Some of my recommendations
1. Golden fried prawns - This is my absolute favourite. Beautifully cooked prawns with the perfect crunch on the outside. I can finish an entire plate on my own.
2. Five spice fish fry - Another personal favourite. I liked how fresh the fish was - I can pick up on stale fish very easily as I hate that fishy smell. No problem here though. The fish was fresh, and the sauce was so good!
3. Crispy Spinach in Chili oil - I know spinach isn’t exactly anyone’s go-to ingredient to order in a restaurant. But this dish is a must have. You have to try it to believe it.
4. Chili Garlic Noodles - Really good! I loved how the spice level was perfect and the portion was so generous.

All in all, a definite gem. The food is delicious, the service is good, and the staff is pleasant. I can’t think of a better restaurant for Chinese food in Dehradun.

"Good things often come in small packages" and this quote is certainly apt for a small eatery called Outpost located at Rajpur Road, Dehradun. This place may not have lavish interiors or posh ambiance but what sets it apart is its mind blowing food.
I was head over heels in love with golden fried prawns which were really crispy from outside but extremely tender from inside. Unlike other places which overcook prawns making it very difficult to chew, Outpost definitely knows how to cook praws.
Further, you must try their chicken momos which not only has generous amount of delicious filling but also has equally delish chutney which is served along the momos.
Another dish from the menu that I would highly recommend is ginger chicken.

This place has become my personal favorite. Would definitely visit it again. ❤️

A really small place but as they say all good things come in small packages, excellent Chinese food, generous portions and a very attentive staff. Limited but decent menu.. By far the best Chinese in town, if u don't believe me ask anyone who lives here. Worth the visit.

When in smaller cities I hunt for the seemingly innocuous looking places (no jazzy exteriors, no fancy names, but one can tell from the ambience that they paid attention to the little details even if it's the basics) cos they invariably serve better food which is value for money ...do not go to outpost if ur looking for highbrow 'chinese'... they have no pretenses about what they offer and I loved that about this place...the food is delicious, fresh , amply portioned and suitably priced...their serving staff knows exactly what is on their menu and u wont be misled by the menu either ...one of the very few places in Dehradun which does fish really well and seems to know the difference between five spice and schezwan ... absolutely worth it

Nice little restaurant in jakhan for chinese food lovers. No frills but pretty decent interiors with raw wood finish. Can accommodate not more than 15 odd people. Limited menu but the food is really very good and near authentic. After trying other chinese places in town we landed up at this joint and it was a discovery. Taste wise probably the best chinese you can have in Doon

Great Food!
This place is not easy to spot. It looks like some small ordinary place from outside. One may even miss it. Even when you enter this place the ordinary interior will make you expect some average food. The ambience is quiet with soft purring music.
We ordered steamed momos, both veg and non veg and pan fried noodles. The non veg momos had ample filling of chicken and were soft and juicy. The best thing about the momos was the thin skin. The pan fried noodles were yummy with adequate amount of veggies and appropriate amount of noodles and gravy.
Overall food was really awesome. Would have rated 5 if they would have better interior. Also I feel people should visit this place instead of other Chinese or Tibetan food corner!
Must visit at least once
