We visited this café on the suggestion of our bus driver. I must say it was a superb idea. The food and service were excellent and so was the hygiene of the place. The washrooms and dining area were all spick and span. We ordered masala dosa, cheese dosa, Bombay special dosa and uttapam along with filter coffee. Everything tasted excellent. There was an offer of free pineapple halwa on posting a good review on google but they deserve all the praise for good food and service.

This is exactly what a South Indian udipi restaurant should not be like. Tacky decor, inauthentic flavors. We ordered idly, Mysore dosa and onion uttapam. While the onion uttapam was acceptable, the idli was re-steamed with one side a mushy mess, it didn’t taste like an idli, the worst part was the coconut chutney and sickly sweet onion chutney. The Mysore dosa filled with a generic flavorless potato filling and a red chutney paste, with just the red color dominating. Only the sambhar tasted authentic. The decor with a red brick wall, varnished stone lookalike tile and faux pine roof didn’t remotely look like a South Indian flavor. Probably I am a little biased because of my recent Bangaluru trip or the fact that my wife belongs to KARNATAKA. It’s sad that what could have done justice to Udipi tradition has not bothered to serve even good basic South Indian food. Definitely not worth a visit.

The balance between lentils and spices was evenly maintained and the tamarind added was just the right amount. If you were looking for an authentic south Indian restaurant in Dehradun, this would come up as a big disappointment. After having tried most of the primary dishes they had to offer I just wasn't satisfied. I am a North Indian who has spent 20 years of his life in Karnataka. So I definitely know what I am looking for in a South Indian dish. My search for authenticity continues in Dehradun. To add to my woes on two occasions there Dosa had strand of hair in it. Disgusting.

At my house, South Indian food is a regular affair. I have had this eatery on watchlist for quite some time. This day, I ordered lots of food and It turned out to be utter disappointment having eaten food from there. The Dosa wasn’t good and it tasted sour. Idli was not fresh and coconut chutney was stale and to top it up the bearer incharge of packing just dumped my order into a bag. He was not impressed upon me asking him to repack my bag of food. Downside: Both the food & service was a total disappointment. My first & last ever to visit this eatery or even recommend someone who wants a southern food in 'Dehradun'.

Visited Udupi Cafe in Dehradun recently and would give 3/5 stars overall Service - Bad and slow Food quality - had idli and vada Sambhar, they didn't have any coconut chutney and idli wasn't great. Only the vada was tasty so would give it 3/5 Also had filter coffee which was good, so 4/5 for it. Ambience - Good 4/5

Had ordered food through Zomato and found the service was quick and the packaging was decent. The Dosa was good and had enough masala to last the whole dosa. Sambhar was delicious and was nicely balanced. Coconut chutney could have been a bit thicker to have a more substance to every bite. Had ordered the puri and sabzi, which was a little let down due the fact that the puri were a bit thick and seemed to be fried in over hot oil, resulting in outer covering to be dark and inside still slightly raw dough.

Totally smitten by the food and service here. They feed you with so much love. We visited this outlet a couple of times and the consistency in quality is beyond words. The food is good,large portions and we'll presented. We tried their uttapams, idli, Mysore dosa, rava dosa. Loved all of the. The sambhar and chutneys are also lip smacking and to top it all, you can another helping again and again. The filter coffee is great and should not be missed.

In love with their south India servings! Recently had masala dosa and idli sambhar. The dosa was large enough to cover half of the table space. Idli was soft and spongy and it is definitely the coconut chutney that made me their fan! The bill came 170 INR. Just a suggestion- Please make improvements in your aloo masala filled in Dosa. I didnt liked it and left as such! Pros- you will get seperate rotating heaters for each table and I really liked the owner taking care of each table personally. 🤗

#SouthyOfDoon If u have been to any Southy in delhi you will relate to this place really well. This place is on EC road quite near to Cross roads mall and i have been this place twice and ordered for home delivery once. There is no dish that will absolutely mesmerize you, but if you are looking for some good old south Indian food, you can try this. The only disappointment is their filter coffee, just avoid that and you are good. They just serve regular milk coffee in a steel curved glass and call it filter coffee. Like - Reasonable pricing, decent food. Dislike - Pathetic filter coffee.

Total waste of time and money. The claims are tall but the preparations aren't upto the mark. The wada in dahi wada was too hard. Chhole bhature were tasteless with too much of baking soda in chhole and as promised the butter dosa was brushed with ghee instead of a dollop of butter. STRICTLY AVOIDABLE
