Review Monkey Fist Cafe - Dehradun

Simply the best burgers in the City. The Sauces are so delicious and they really compliment every bite of burger . Mushroom burger and chicken hot dog offers the bestest taste and bestest service of all the other popular burger stores. I will recommend this place 100% It’s worth the money.

This place has the best burger of dehradun. The ambience of the cafe is decent. They have a huge variety of different flavoured burger which are freshly prepared. The patty of the burger is juicy and mouth-watering. The burger is cheesy and flavoursome. The service is a little slow. But the burgers are a must try for sure!

Judging by the rating, you might have guessed that I quite enjoyed the experience. Okay let me break it down. NOTE: there are apparently 2 outlets, one at this location and the other in Rajpur road, near Jhakan Tower. This review is specifically for the one in Rajpur Road. The ambience: A lovely, cozy bistro with appropriate music considering the food. It's well maintained, clean and the staff is polite. The food: I had two burgers, the mushroom one with bacon topping and the yin-yang burger. Both tasted excellent, though the bacon wasn't crispy. But I'll cut them some slack as bacon in india isn't popular and getting fresh and good quality bacon every day isn't very economic. The portions were on the smaller side hence the deduction of one star. Gets a solid recommendation.

Small cosy place . Variety of different flavoured burgers, every burger has its unique flavour. Service is quick. Staff is friendly. Great ambience.I tried beejis special paneer burger, it was succulent. virgin mojito they serve is the best one i’ve ever had, just loved it. French fries were fresh. I had their handmade walnut cake and it was delicious. Must visit place if u visit dehradun.

Cozy warm vibes and atmosphere with tasty burgers. A large variety of veg and non veg burgers, tried chicken tikka burger was good in taste and had some indian sauces. Suitable for casual dates and friends meet-up. On the little costlier side but worth it.

Quiet, friendly place. The owner likes to get to know his customers, if they want to share their story. By the way, there's a story behind the name of this restaurant. It's up to you to discover it...

Great Place to visit. Burger and Fries are amazing. Must try items. The staffs are soo good and polite. You can go out here with your friends and chill. I recommend this place.

Quaint little place that serves excellent gourmet burgers that you won't get anywhere in Dehradun. The owner uses family recipes and spins them to toss out mouthwatering burgers. You can't eat just one.

Wow... Excellent burgers! Our kids loved them too. We had the monkey fist burger and the Italian burger and both were exceptional. Very good flavors. It's a little warm inside, so we ate outside.

Ordered the Magical Mushrooms Burger.<br/>Fresh and Tasty..... would have been delighted to have the same burger with more mushrooms, little more fries, ketchup and some mustard sauce. Cheers! Keep up the good food.

I got in after seeing their ad for free drinks with burger. When I looked at the menu I was surprised to see their price. It was very expensive compare to other burger places.<br/><br/>Got three burgers to go. Owner doesn't allow you to take drinks outside the restaurant so I had to leave my drinks behind. Staff is polite and place is quiet but burger is overpriced and you cant take drink outside the restaurant which is strange way to do business. Its empty and okay environment. I wont be going there again.

Beeji chicken burger and Shanghai twist were awesome..food was delicious...just loved this little place...It felt like I was eating burgers in some hill top...

We came across this place while heading back to our accomodation , the place looked so pretty. Decided to try the food here.<br/>We had Shanghai twist and beeji burger. Both the burgers tasted out of the world , totally different from each other. My special mention will go for Shanghai twist. Totally loved it! The ambience was great and staff was super friendly! Loved the experience. :)

Loved walking into this quaint joint and was impressed with the menu and pricing. The uniqueness is in the flavour of the burger patty. Do not miss out on these delicious burgers.

Great Burgers!! Quiet and peaceful. Initially was bugged by the absence of lettuce, but that was until I tried THE GREAT INDIAN Burger. OHH MY GOD!! Best burger ever!!!

Having heard a lot about the burgers here , I decided to visit the place. The chicken burger was decent but not as great as expected. Overall decent place with cute ambience.

Had heard a lot about this cafe and had high expectations but this cafe failed to impress. The food isn't great. The ambience is ok. Service is also not nice and the prices are very high. Definitely not value for money.

I was taken to Monkey Fist by my Dehradun friends who placed their orders while we were driving there. I hadn't heard of it and I never order without reading a menu but I just ordered what one of my friends was ordering which was the classic, The "Chicken BG"<br/><br/>We drove up to this cute little cafe on Canal Road where I met some friends with whom we were standing outside while our burgers were getting made inside. They have seating for about 8-10 people, it's more of a pick up place I figured (though they do have a washroom). The inside has a very rustic feel to it with some cool wall art which was perfectly lit, highly appreciated that. I was told that the owner Aneesh is a retired sailor who wanted to serve the people of Dehradun really good food and I think he's on the right track.<br/><br/>Our order took about 20 minutes to make which came with a side of fries. I was eating a burger after really long, so I tied up my hair, took a few deep breaths and went for it. As I took that first bite I remembering the burger bun being really soft. It was warm and fluffy, just the way a bun should be and it had a good amount of sesame seeds on top. The burger was dry so I had it with the chipotle and mustard sauce. The have a good variety of sauces to choose from but I personally believe that a really good burger shouldn't require extra sauces and should have enough moisture inside. I would have liked some lettuce in my burger, not because I'm a salad bug but because iceberg lettuce adds a good amount of water and an extra crunch. However I loved the spiciness of the jalapeños and the chicken patty was decent. If you like your food to be extra cheesy then I would recommend the "Shanghai Twist" which is actually really good.<br/><br/>Overall my experience was good, the ambience was cosy and warm, staff was friendly and is good value for money. Dehradun; I think you got yourself a really cool hangout spot, I might come back for seconds :P

Small, quiet, friendly and cozy place. Heard about the place from a friend who raved about the burgers, so decided to check it out myself. As much for the burgers as the quirky name!<br/>Was not disappointed- they really do have the best burgers in town! Tried the Monkey’s Fist Special (non-veg). Home-made, tasty and succulent.<br/>My only small complaint is that the burgers should come with a side of fries to make it a wholesome meal. These have to be ordered separately, otherwise.

Great food, every item in menu is a great add on for a pallet. This cute little cafe is located at Canal road, with limited sitting of 8-10 members. Serves delicious burgers and fists.

Such an amazing 💓 heartwarming experience it was when visited this quaint cafe. The first thing to catch ur eye is the aesthetics of the place...the signatury knots (explains the name),world on wall, poignant artwork to name a few. But the star of the cafe are no doubts the gourmet burgers... whether it was smoked chicken ,mutton mania, cheesy mushroom or Beiji's special(traditional family secret of flavours handed by granny)...every variant is lucious, succulent and scrumptious 🤟😋😋 Highly recommending for this flavoursome journey..and if ur lost for directions(what to order),ask the owner cum sous chef mariner ..Aneesh. Can't wait to go backk again😋😋😋

Oh! What can I say, the best burger I had in my life is Mutton Mania by monkey fist cafe. It's the Jon Snow of all Burgers. It's ultra delicious. I hope they maintain the quality of their Burgers. It's a bit expensive but worth paying.

I have recently went to this place and had great experience i have tried chicken fist and it's really delicious and one should try this with some good beverage. Its easy to reach and has cozy ambience. Loved the taste and exploring more food over.

Best burgers in town! The Mutton Mania and the Great Indian Chicken are addictive. Best part is that everything is made fresh with love. Highly recommend it
Shubham Nagalia
No doubt the best burgers in town. The juicy, succulent, unprocessed fresh patties give the real taste of amazing burgers. The seating is nice and proper given the space. Beverages are also up to the mark, especially the cold coffee and the mojito.

If you're looking to have best burgers that can blow your mind, then this place should be on your priority list. The burgers here are titled in a very Indian style. Each item on the menu has a story just like the cafe itself.<br/><br/>The burger patties are so damn juicy and will keep you licking your fingers and the wrappers once you're done eating. Visited it so many times, yet can't get over these burgers.<br/><br/>And of all, it is pocket friendly and the service is great.

I've never loved burgers so much.<br/>One of the best burger joints in the valley. Would definitely come again. The smoked chicken burger created a craving I never knew I had.<br/>Peace

Monkey fist is surely a mandatory stop off. The name suggests sort of heavy rope but it means more than that to the owner, Aneesh. For him, it signifies 'Sailor coming home'.<br/>The food was surely middling but the prices were a bit hyped-up. But this place surely serves burger with the delish, sauced chicken patty that declares its exception.<br/>Happy eating!!<br/>Follow @fooditch74 for more updates.<br/>*<br/>Monkey fist special ( Chicken buger) : Rs.200/-<br/>French fries with cheese: Rs 80/-<br/>*<br/>Location: Monkey fist, Canal Road, Chironwali.<br/>*<br/>Ambience: Good<br/>*<br/>Food quality: Good<br/><br/>#monkeyfist #dehradundiaries #dehradun #burger #burgerbar #frenchfrieswithcheese #dehradunfoodguide #instafood #instagood #foodgram #foodiefromindia #foodies #food #eat #eatlikeyoudontgiveafuck #foodporn #foodgasm #foodoholic #fooditch74 #americanfoodinindia #foodblogger #eatandshout #foodlover #lovefirfood #liveforfood #followformore #like #dehradun

Not worth the money ,no stuffing found of onions lettuce and others. Veg was more disappointing than the non veg one with stuffings really missing.

The ambiance is beautiful. Clean and a good and quick service. Food was overwhelming. The Gourmet Burgers are every bit as delicious. Loved the peach iced tea as well. Kudos!!

Great burgers options, dressing choices....humble host, nice ambience .....great aesthetics with creative personal touch to the place ....clean and hygiene ...need be more luminous on the front fascade as can be missed by fast traffic and potentially food drifters , my best wishes to the team to grow further.

The food is just wow..... Mutton mania is a must have here... You will forget the meaning of burger after eating the mutton mania burger.... Amazing ambience... Must try if in Dehradoon...

A nice little cafe situated away from the buzz of rajpur road. The ambience is simple and nice.<br/>Coming to the food they have a wide range of burgers to choose from<br/>I tried a burger which had mix chicken and mutton patty and cheese filled inside the patty. It sounds very delicious but didn't taste like it. I personally didn't like it.<br/>But having said that the way of preparing the burger was authentic and maybe the other burgers are nice which I'll try soon.<br/>~Follow on instagram : @suchfoodies ~

For someone not very fond of burgers this review of an eatery specialising in burgers might be strange. So on my 50th birthday I had this urge of gorging on a nice juicy burger. On a very strong recommendation I visited Monkey Fist, a small cafe on canal road. I ordered a mutton mania burger, plain salted French fries and a coffee. I couldn't imagine that in an age of oversized, dripping with toppings and not fitting in mouth burgers you could get a normal size simple bun and patty burger which you wish would never finish. The bun was soft and patty covered every inch of it. Rest was just an explosion of juicy flavours in mouth. Fries were perfect blend of crispy exterior and soft from inside.<br/>Well done Mr. And Mrs. Aneesh. Looking forward to my next visit.

Great food, every item in menu is a unique experience for pallet. Yet to try a lot but so far great. The best thing i like is the personal interest of the owner to make each and every order to perfection.

This cute little cafe is located on Canal Road. The place has a limited sitting for 8-10 persons. Loved their burgers and will surely be visiting again.

Burgers these days tend to butcher flavours in an attempt to look big and 'instagram'-worthy. In this age and date Monkey fist goes back to basics and gets the most fundamental thing right - flavour.<br/>Having visited this place after various recommendations, my expectations were really high and boy-oh-boy were they surpassed! The mutton mania burger I had was one of the best burger I've ever had. A soft bun, a falvourful patty and just the right amount of fillings.<br/>What might appear as a simple, rather small burger is a delightful and filling meal which will definitely leave you happy. These are burgers done right, people.<br/>Aneesh's passion shows in the way he has done the place, and makes his food.<br/>When in doon, make it a point to visit Monkey Fist. As he says, you'll walk in hungry and leave happy!
PICKYPLATES
This cafe serves food with a strong taste as strong as a monkey fist 😉 the burger quality was really great. The only drawback is that the burgers according to pickyplates are a little overpriced. The place is nice but small with a seating arrangement of 8-10 people. This place serves variety in burger and the decor here goes all rustic and is adorned with rope knots.<br/>.<br/>.<br/>1)Shanghai twist burger- soft bun seasoned with homemade inhouse sauces and topped with paprika and chicken stuffed with cheese patty and drizzle of mayonnaise. This amalgamation was good in taste. (Chicken/mutton/paneer-₹190/210/190)<br/>*Recommended<br/>.<br/>.<br/>2)Monkey fist special- these were small smoked meat fists served with cheese all over. (₹160)<br/>.<br/>.<br/>3)brownie shake-it was a sweet chocolaty way to conclude our cravings for the day.<br/>(₹130)

Hands down the best burger I've ever had! Having travelled and lived across the biggest cities of India, it was such a pleasant surprise to find the best burger joint in my small hometown. Unassuming and succulent. Just the right size. Gets the flavours bang on. Nothing extra. Just how a burger should be. LOVED it!
Anshuman Agrawal
One of the best burgers I have had. And that too in Dehradun with the owner himself crafting the burger to the way he has imagined! I say thats the definition of a small place burger joint! Good work Aneesh!

Been here recently and found out so many new kinds of burgers <br/>this one was a chicken and mutton mix burger with full of cheese and mayo <br/>and there are like 6 sauces available to hav with it

Firstly the cafe is right on the main road so easy to locate. Its a nice and cosy place. The chicken burger was good but the veg wasn't so good. One suggestion is that along with the burger they should serve some french fries and a small coldrink as well because to be honest the cost of the burgers is on the higher side.<br/>One major USP that the burgers are prepared fresh and not those frozen patties.
Shivangi Singh
A nice, warm and cosy place<br/>Well I ordered the Beeji’s special mutton and Beeji’s special chicken, the mutton was Ok and chicken was really yum 😋 <br/>Self-service is there<br/>Ambience-3/5<br/>Food-3.5/5<br/>Staff-4/5

What happens when passion meets profession? This sailor's passion for food and cooking gave him the idea of 'Monkey fist cafe'. <br/> The cafe is located right on the canal road. The place beautifully brings alive the fond memories of a sailor from his job. The world map on the wall is an absolute delighta and gives that rustic feel to the cafe. The place is pretty small with limites seating but exudes a warm sense of hospitality. The menu is majorly burgers with regulars like maggi, nuggets and fries.<br/> We ordered kahwa, their yin yang burger, the biji special burger and a maggi. They have choices of flavours in the maggi but we ordered just the way it is for the child. The yin yang burger is a burger with a combination of both mutyon and chicken in in the burger topped with oodles of melted cheese. The filling was tasty and succulent but it was slightly overboard on the cheese part for my taste. <br/> When food gets the touch of the mother's secret, it has to be delicious. This burger, with a mutton patty with biji's special flovours and caramelised onions on top was just exceptional. The touch of red chillies to the burger did the magic. This is a must try here. Loved it. The kahwa was average, not the best that i have ever had. <br/>The prices are slightly on the higher side and a few fries to go with the burgers would be really great. <br/>

This place has been on my list from the time i heard about it.<br/>It is a nice , casual place to go and chill and have the best burgers of the city! Yes, they are the best burgers i have ever had in dehradun.<br/>The special thing about this eating joint is that it is started by a sailor , who was passionate about cooking !! Thus he came to his homeland and started a new venture.<br/>Monkey's fist basically means the knot which sailors tie and the end of each knot! And this eating joint is symbolic of homecoming.<br/>I had the ying yang (chicken +mutton) burger which was juicy, delicious and the two buns on either side were baked well! I also had the bbq chicken 🍔<br/>Which was yumyumyum , palatable and mouth watering.<br/>The hot coffee and the cold coffee were both the best! It was a type of coffee we all like. The coffee which pleases our taste buds.<br/>The decor was simple yet elegant.<br/>The world man on one wall gave it a lovely look.<br/>And it is worth trying and worth hunting for.!!<br/>The owner is a warm and a sweet person !<br/>This place should be on your list!<br/>Remember , it has the best burgers in town , my friend.<br/>Hope you enjoy your visit there:)🌀

The burgers are awesome and so is other stuff but the quantity is slightly on the lower side while the price is slightly on the higher. Just had one chicken burger and a plate of monkey fists which were smoked. Will try more stuff soon.

For all the burger freaks, you gonna love their vast burger range.. i have tried monkey's gift special burger , it was tasty and the chicken inside it was so juicy and yummm..

As soon as you enter you get this warm cozy vibe, simple and yet beautifully designed. The owner a navy man , humble, polite and a gentleman greets you with a warm smile. The menu is simple and has a nice variety of burgers with few shakes and snacks. <br/>But this place is purely for the burger lovers. Trust me you need to experience it to believe it. One of the best burgers I have had so far in my travels as a foodie. I had the szechwan based chicken with cheese burger and brownie shake and the paneer beeji burger with french fries. <br/>Every single bite was pure heaven. A fantastic experience and a must visit. Will be coming over again. Best of luck . <br/>
