Review Food Chetan Puri Wala - Dehradun

This gem lies in a narrow street of Hanuman Chawk. You can miss it if you don't know the exact location. Let me help you with the location- reach the Hanuman temple and it's right next to it. The place looks and feels exactly how a decades old restaurant with fantastic food should be - raw, local, food being prepared in front of you. What you see is what you get. They have definitely expanded over the years and have thankfully maintained the taste. You get a thali that has alu sabzi, khatti meethi kaddu ki sabzi, chole, sookhi alu sabzi with Puri. Sabzis are unlimited, 2 (or maybe 4) puris are included in the thali and you will be charged for more puris. Each Puri is for Rs 20/25. Raita is also charged and you will have to ask for it. Mirchi and mooli salad is also free. The Puri here is what is called in some parts of UP as bedmi Puri. It has a thin layer of urad dal inside it. All sabzis taste great. Overeating at chetan Puri wala is unavoidable. They also serve perfect gulab jamuns- another thing to try where you are here. The service is top notch! At the peak hours the place is always packed but you will never have to wait for more than 10 minutes. And the supply of sabzis and puris is constant. When in Dun, visiting Chetal Puriwala is a no-brainer!

Location: Nestled in the bustling heart of Hanuman Chowk, Dehradun, Chetan Swadisht Kachori is a haven for traditional flavors and a must-visit for breakfast enthusiasts. Traditional Taste: Forget fancy cafes, Chetan's charm lies in its simplicity. Their kachoris are legendary, bursting with savory filling and crispy, flaky shells. Every bite transports you back to a time of home-cooked goodness. Poori Perfection: Their breakfast menu isn't just about kachoris. Their fluffy, golden pooris, served with piping hot sabzi and chutneys, are another reason to line up early. Each plate is a symphony of textures and flavors, guaranteed to awaken your taste buds. Breakfast Bliss: Whether you're a local seeking a familiar comfort or a traveler

The Puris (Kachoris) are very delicious, it's very crunchy and seems to have suji added. 4 types of vegetables and Sutiya (Chatni) provided. Raita is tasty but with an extra cost than thali's. Please note while taking Puris as they are giving it like giving in Bhandara, but beware of charges added.

One of the famous puri wala in old city area of dehradun. Undoubtedly the food and service is remarkable. The location is not car friendly so hard to find parking. We took rickshaw from a nearby parking.

Great experience if you are looking for some authentic Indian cuisine. We had kachori sabjee, they serve - chole, kaddu sabjee (but sweet), Allu sukhi sabjee, aalu ki tari wali sabjee. Along with that we had gulab jamun and kheer - it was very tasty. Experience was amazing, must have if you are in Dehradun.

Absolutely divine! Chetan Swadisht Kachori in Dehradun served the most delightful puri sabji I've ever tasted. The red small fried chilly was a delightful surprise, adding a perfect kick to the meal. The people running the show were very cordial. During our road trip to Spiti from Mumbai, this stop made us consider extending our stay just to savor their flavors for lunch and dinner. Sadly, time constraints didn't allow that, but I'm already planning a future trip to Dehradun solely to relish their irresistible unlimited kachori thali. Oh, how I miss it!.

We've been coming here for so many years that I've lost count, one thing that hasn't changed is the crowd of customers and their delicious food. The owner himself comes and helps in cooking and he is 80 years old. Here even today you will get food in Pattal ( food served in leaf plate )which is very rare.If you come to Dehradun, do not forget to come here. You will get the best puri, sabji in Chetan Puri, this is my guarantee. One more thing, you can't take car here so try to walk, food will be digested while coming back from there😊

Cheap eats near the railway and hill bus station. I need to walk through a few markets and it is hidden in a narrow alley. Very popular among locals. Only one dish (poori sabzi) is served with three different sabzis. I enjoyed the food. The service was quick.

Nice but they charge extra for UPI payments

One of the best place for breakfast in Dehradun. They service puri with 4 types of sabzis @100 per plate. Extra sabzi can also be taken in dine in. They have raita too @20 per bowl. They also sell hot gulab jamun and other sweets. Just loved the kheer they serve. Amazing staff. Good service. Must try. The location is also accurate.

One of the most popular breakfast center in the town, they serve poori kachori, bhaji chole rice etc. Breakfast options could be poori kachori thali, it comes with 4 kachori, white chola, pumpkin, aalu tamatar and dry mix sabji. The cost of this thali is 80INR. Also you can take boondi raita at 20INR. They also have chola rice, that can be a better brunch or lunch option. They serve delicious sweets specially different type of laddu, they have option for both ghee and sada. Each ghee laddu will cost you 25INR . Gulab jamun is another option in sweets. They also serve kheer at 30 Rupees each plate. The shop has sitting area and is clean. A normal eating joint. Talking about the location it is in the heart of the city around 1KM from railway station, in the hanuman chowk area of dehradun. I find the cost can be reduced per plate as 80rupees for a normal breakfast can be a bit tough for regular eater. As this place is mainly visited by vendors hawkers, kirana owners and labours.

I always visit this place for breakfast when i'm in doon. The preparation and way of serving gives a feeling of traditional indian breakfast. They serve 4 sabzis : dry aloo, aloo curry, kaddu and chole, puris are made in bulk and tend to finish within minutes. Best part is you can get as much as sabzi you want.

Since 1988, it has been serving authentic vegetarian food (वैष्णो खाना). The thing which makes it very special is that they use only pure desi ghee(clarified butter) to prepare all their stuff(Eg :- Frying Kachoris).
•It is one of the oldest food spot in Doon.
Usually full of crowd all time.
₹80/plate on which you got 4 Katchori, Aloo-Ki-Sabzi, Kaddu and Cholle..
•If you want extra Katchori u can have it @40/2 Katchori.
•To complete the meal they also got toothful sweets [Gulab Jamun (@20/2) and Kheer(@30) is one of them].
•I personally liked the kachori very much and it is stuffed with urad ki daal.
•Overall the flavour of Kaddu-ki-sabzi is most dominating and Aloo-ki-sabzi & cholle had mild taste.Boondi ka raita has no flavour but you can add salt, red pepper & garam masala as per your taste.
•Gulab jamun is very soft, sweet & delightful.
•My suggestion is to enjoy the meal at their place rather than ordering it.

.
.
#breakfast #sundaybreakfast #katchori #aloosabzi #kaddu #cholle #raita #indianfood

The place is always jam packed, perfect place to have breakfast. If you are lucky you might get a seat without standing in a queue.
Love their food. The plate was amazingly proportioned with all sorts of taste and flavours.
Love the food the only thing bothering was the hospitality the manager was arrogant and a little fussy or else the waiters were good and the service was promt

कुछ इंडियन हो जाये?? Yes, we are here from back in times of Dehradun. A thali from North India being served at Chetan Puri Walla, Hanuman Chowk, Dehradun (Timings: 8:00 am-4:00 pm). What all is there in the thali:
4 Kachori (कचोरी), Dried Potato (आलू), Sweet Pumpkin (कडू की सब्जी), Allo ka Saag (आलू का साग), Chickpeas (छोले) served with onion and a sweet chutney which is called सौंठ की चटनी। If you want to have a sunday brunch this is the best option you have when is comes to dehradun and indian food.

Food: 10/10
Serving: 1
Price: ₹100 for two
#petpujaari #dehradun #foodgasm #foodove #hanumanchowk #aunthenticfood #foodporn #foodcourt #foodphotography #foodie #foodstagram #foodlover #chetanpuriwala #kachori #kaddu #allo #chutney #indian #indianfood #indianbreakfast #breakfast #brunch #doonfood #doon #doondiaries

Chetan poori wala serves the most outstanding kachoris for breakfast. You can ask for as many refills as you please. Raita is not included in thali but you can buy. Sum up the meal here with their locally prepared mithais such as Navratan laddoo.!! Dont go by the dingy look, because the food is so tasty that there is always a waiting.. Undoubtedly the Favourite Sunday brunch of every localite of Doon.
