- Great coffee. - No spicy food, if you want to eat simple non spicy food then this place is good but if you like spicy food then you can enjoy coffee here. - Parking space is little bit difficult to find. They offer good coffee. The staff was polite and helpful. The food was without any spice, if you like spicy food then this place is not for you but if you enjoy eating simple spice less food then you can enjoy here. To find a parking space here is a bit difficult. If you have bike/scooty then you can manage but if you have car then it is really a task to find a parking space for your vehicle.

A wonderful restaurant that offers such a wide variety of cuisine, you will wish to try out from each. The quantity and quality of the food served is fantastic for the very worthy price. The service is prompt and polite. Would recommend it to anyone that travels to McLeod.

I spent some me time here by ordering tiramisu coffee and all mushroom pizza. The pizza was just delicious loaded with mushroom. Mushroom were juicy and fresh. Splendid I must say. I have tried pizza at so many high end places but no one put loaded toppings like them. Coffee was kinda okay.

Great multicuisine restaurant at a pretty reasonable price. Their Falafel (served with humus and pita) was amazing. Indian main course (Mutter Paneer) was good. Service and ambience was top notch.

Tried this place as per Google recommendation . This is a bakery so please refrain from full course. What I liked 1. Irish coffee was great 2. All cakes are good but ask owner the recommended one so as to get the freshest , I went with almond cake -loved it. 3. Little expensive but still loved it. P. S Irish coffe goes well itself so don't order cakes to go with it

I highly recommend this restaurant. The food is fantastic and very good value. I had the chicken tikka masala, which was excellent. I also had an excellent glass of Indian wine available at the restaurant. I highly recommend the restaurant to anyone who likes good Indian food. However, the restaurant also offers international cuisine.

Place is quite good with ample seating area and comfortable chairs. You will get a wide range of food options like Indian, Italian, Mexican, Israeli, Continental . You can also get drinks here. Rates are quite reasonable.

Well, whenever I visit mcleodganj this is the only place I go to have food. Ambience here is always nice, staff is really friendly, since you are in mountains the order will take around 15min to complete but it's okay to wait become the food they deliver is very nice, I think that there Italian, Irish and Chinese menu is amazing but indian food is bit low against expectations. Coffee here is amazing. Visiting mcleodganj? Do come and taste the food of German Bakery. πŸ₯°

I seriously have no idea how much I can talk about this place. According to my experience in McLeod this is the best place to eat. Just think what you want to eat, you will find everything in there menu. Totally in love with there Chicken Thukpa, cinnamon roll, garlic bread and butter chicken with tandoori roti. I wish I could have tasted more stuff but these I would highly highly recommend. They serve amazing coffee as well. If you are here then must must try this place. 10 stars to them.

Nothing German about this place. Everything was below average. Do not fall for the name. The place accepted only cash.

Spider is also served with rice....ridiculous staff ..hygiene not at all maintained. Kindly avoid going here if you want to stay healthy.

This is the most amazing bakery! I tried the Local speciality which is the Bhagsu cake, it was simply delicious! Also ate carrot cake, which I usually don't like, but it was perfect here. Must visit when you're in McLeod Ganj!!

#foodiefat - This place is located by the market at dharmashala, can be easily located I love to eat at the bakers special north side, very nice and comfortable place.
Tried chicken pasta with mushroom sauce was so wonderfully made and presented the dish so nicely with boiled eggs on top, service is quick, also tried thukpa a very healthy bite loved it.

I am very happy to have food over here.

Follow me on Instagram - @foodiefat_nikhil

Only Spinach soup was good. Banana pastry was as hard as a stone. Veg Enchiladas were like paneer makhanwala placed within a roti and garnished with cheese. Hot chocolate was below average and chocolate croissant was again like a pebble. Why is this place called 'German' if someone could explain that

I tried shak shuka n vegetable grilled sandwich.. Shak shuka was good n price was worth it but vegetable sandwich was very small not worth the price.

Irish cappuccino was also great.

But what I liked about this cafe is that they have very different menu n would like come back to try more..

They are one of the oldest and most celebrated restaurant in Bhagsunag, Mcleod-ganj, Dharamshala and the German Bakery is on tongues of most tourists visiting Dharamshala for the first time.

Located at Bhagsunag main Chowk near taxi stand, this is an excellent breakfast time place, especially if you’re looking to get some morning caffeine in your system. Their home-made cappuccino is best followed by the pancakes and chocolate sauce, or any other bakery items.

A must must visit place. One of the most famous one. Short on time could only try the pita and hummus and falafel. Fell in loveeee! It’s authentic and fulfilling. Loved it absolutely.

A bakery with a great ambiance , friendly staff and a perfect breakfast spot!πŸ˜‹
German Bakery , Mcleodganj is the place where you'll be served the most exotic food starting from hummus pita to even rajma chawal!πŸ’―πŸ‘Œ
Located just at the starting of Bhagsu market!!! I tried the hummus pita 🌯 white sauce pasta 🍝 Chicken pizza πŸ•πŸ• and the chocolate shake πŸ˜‹ it tasted so good that couldn't click enough pictures.
But you need to visit this place if you're in Mcleodganj!!πŸ’―πŸ‘Œ
#beingdesi

A bakery with courteous staff and decent ambience.
Aperfect breakfast spot.
They serve you with fresh brownies, doughnuts and croissants..
We ordered brownie and chocolate balls..Both were really good. The brownie was soft, dense and delicious. The coconut sprinkled over the chocolate ball gives it a perfect taste 😍

Located just at the corner of marketplace of Bhagsu, Its a nice cafe but I would say Overrated!

All the items in the menu are overpriced. We tried carrot cake, Cheese pastry, Cold coffee latte and Bhagsu Bite. I liked Carrot cake the most.

One can surely visit, but its definitely not a MUST in Bhagsu or Mcleod.

The breakfast options are super delicious!
Especially the Islraeli breakfast (labani dip was amazing) and the English breakfast. The shakes are good.
Pancakes arent that good.
Oh Food
Since we were staying near to this place, we headed there for our breakfast. Situated conveniently in Bhagsu Nag, this is a bakery with a good display of cakes and other baked items. We chose to sit outside because the view from the outdoor seating was great. We ordered chocolate pancakes and tea. Honestly, the pancakes were ordinary and the tea was served in huge glasses, which was kind of a new for me. The food experience was average, but the views made up for it.

So as i was in a family trip to.mcleodganj n bhagsunag.
I was staying nearby to this place.
As I walked down n asked some people abt some giod restaurants n good food.
Many of them recommended this place.
N i was also willing to come here.
Coz reviews from friends n zomato was good.
So decided to have dinner here.

Had not much but still whatever i got was really really yummilicious.

We had some sort of house made breads n chicken momos n grilled fish with lemon sauce.

Chicken momos was unlike delhi n other ppace . They were juicy with thin flour. N served with red chilly sauce n thousand island sauce

What actually won my heart was fish.
We got 4 peices of of grilled fish served with some saute veggies n glazed with lemon butter sauce.

Tender n juicy fish melt n mouth. Fresh n drooling,.

The breads what i got consist of cinnamon roll some cookies a donut.
Everything was fresh n good in taste.

Insta@Thehungrysurdie
Facebook@Thehungrysurdie

L

Though there is nothing "German" here yet the bakery is good. We had frappe and cheese pastry, it was delicious. As we reached there early in the morning, hence made it our breakfast spot for the day.
Samarth Jaswal
The food was good but they are thughing the people without informing the the actual rate of full plate. We ordered chilly chicken which was written 260 per plate. They asked you want full we said yes. When bill came it was mentioned 560 for full. The owner was rude. Staff was really very rude.

I had gone to Macleodganj with my school friends. I liked the cafe according to the place and environment. I had momos fried and normal. Nice place to with friends and family.πŸ‘πŸ»

Decent cafe, the coffees are very nice. Must try tiramisu latte and cappuccino. Their banana cake is also very nice. Cheese pastry was different and delicious. Rest carrot cake, chocolate brownie were average and can definitely be missed.

Situated in a convenient spot, there are seating arrangements outdoors and indoor at 2 levels. We came here looking for refreshments and ordered papaya juice and a strawberry smoothie. There was a nice display of desserts and cake. The service was decent and the place was super tidy.

This bakery is quite popular in the town. So had to give it a visit. After returning from Shiva cafe treated myself with a dessert, had Bhagu Cake one of there specialty. Great πŸ’―

We had gone to this place for some awesome breakfast. We ordered for Israeli breakfast which was very good along with cheese omlette. The cheese was melting in my mouth with every bite I had.
We also ordered some bhagsu cake and coffee. It was worth it 😁
Aditi Chaudhary
We ordered Bhagsu cake and coffee. There was a power cut in entire area so unfortunately we didn't try much. But the Bhagsu cake is out of the world. Do do try!

The Ambience is very attractive and peaceful. The food taste was good but not something very special. Try their Pizza and noodles though if you visit.

This place definitely deserves an elaborated review.
I am totally in love with the food they have. Everything in the menu is available and it's super good at taste.
First day we had Chicken Thukpa, cinnamon roll and a coffee. This was the best Chicken Thukpa I had ever. All the ingredients were fresh and it was amazing. Cinnamon roll was even great and the amount of cinnamon and sugar was perfect.
Second day we again had Chicken Thukpa and I fell in love with it again. And we also tried garlic bread too.
Third day we tried there Butter chicken and tandoori roti because it was recommended on zomato and we were not disappointed at all. Chicken was so tender and moist and gravy was yummy. The quantity of half chicken was great enough.

I must say if you are in McLeod, you need to try this place and enjoy this.

5 ⭐ to you guys.

Worst experience ever. Half of the menu was not available and rest it depend upon the mood of the server if he wish to get you what you want to order.
Whatever they serve was not good.
Overrated place one of my worst experience.

Went here for a late dinner at 10:30.
Firstly, the music and ambience is AMAZING. The hosts are very polite and friendly.
I ordered a vegetable sizzler for Rupees 250- it included veg cutlet, french fries, vegetables in a super tasty sauce, and mixed vegetable fried rice.
The quantity is super awesome, this picture is actually of the quantity left after I ate half of it.
The vegetables with the gravy is really tasty, and everything goes so well with the rice given. The fries are crispy and lightly salted (you won't need sauce with them, the gravy also acts as a dip).
The food was very fresh and healthy. Seeing that at 10:30 p.m. was the final bolt in me giving this place 5 stars.
Definitely recommend this!

German bakery is an amazing place with delicious food, nice ambience, good music and very humble staff. It serves almost all kinds of cuisine. We had North Indian and every dish was tasty. πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹ The desserts were delicious. This place is very close to bhagsu. Must visit. πŸ‘πŸ‘

Such a good fulfilling meal which i wish i could have everyday. Cold coffee was tasty as hell. Every food seemed to be great. Nutell pancake was lit as hell.

Loved the food.

Cute little joint in Mcleodganj, Dharamshala. We went here for dinner. Food is good and staff is polite. Nice place to hang out for a group of people.

Went here during my recent trip to Mcleodganj & it turned out to be a really good decision.
Was craving for good North Indian food. So ordered Butter Chicken, Paneer Lababdar along with Butter Naan.
The Butter Chicken was so damn tasty. Absolutely loved it.
Paneer Lababdar was good too. And so were the breads.
The prices are also not too high & It was a happy meal for me in the end.

When I visited dharamshala.. My main motive was"Yahan k Momo's toh khane hee hain".. So we visited German Bakery because it was a known food joint in the area.

My order was:
1. Chicken Momo
2. Chicken Thukpa
3. Nuttela-Choco toast

Honest Review:
Momo's were (3/5) not that great, just average. Tbh I have had better one's in Mumbai :( !

But!! Chicken Thukpa was something that was new to me and we ( i.e me and my family) really liked it. The weather was helping the dish to outbring it's taste. Now I mentioned weather because it was snowinnnn in dharamshala!!and to have Thukpa when it's freezing outside was really amazingπŸ’•

Nuttela-Choco toast was nothing extraordinary same as something u could make at homeπŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

When it comes to ambience. It was good!

Their pizza is the worst trust me. Never try their pizza. It is the worst. I went their 6 months back and my experience with their pizza is horrible. First they took 25 minutes to get me the pizza and at the end it tastes horrible.
Amreen
Went to this place to have lunch after hearing some good reviews. This place serves Indian, Israeli, continental and Chinese food. We ordered chicken schnitzel and chicken sizzler. The hummus and pita serverd with schnitzel was just amazing. The schnitzel could have been a little better. It was a bit bland. The sizzler was good.
Aasim Zaidi
The only restaurant which offers quality and service at very affordable prices in this area. They have a wide range of menu and just don't forget to order your coffee here. Italian, Israeli, Mexican and many more and they serve all things well. Impressed by their service and quality. They can work on the interiors because a lot of foreigners come here and it's always filled with customers.
Rajath
This is a restaurant which serves Indian, Chinese, Tibetan, Continental, Arabic, Israeli, Mexican etc with delicious chocolates and pastries. It’s right at the junction where the walk way to Bhagsunag Temple starts. Of all the restaurants in that locality, I felt this was pretty good in terms of taste, service and value.

Nothing great... Thupka was tasteless. Also the chicken momos were not so great . The chocolate cake was bitter. Not worth the visit. Only thing ok was the chocolate milk shake
Shramana Ghosh
Great place to calm your cravings for sweet bakes. One visiting this place must definitely try out their chocolate cake and chocolate bhagsu biscuits. Also their hot veg thukpa which tasted absolutely delish saved us from the cold weather. It's very reasonable prices is an added bonus!

This place is just unnecessarily hyped because it's in the centre of the market. I'm down with an upset stomach and am forced to write this review at 3 am at night. The food was utterly tasteless and undercooked. I had planned for a trek tomorrow which I have to cancel now. Not to mention my medicine expenses.
Sivangi Dash
This is my first review and I was compelled to write it bec I’m down with a severely upset stomach after eating just fried rice, garlic chicken and cold coffee. It’s 2:52am and I’m not able to sleep bec of the same. Also, not to forget the bill was 700+ and the food was utterly tasteless and the chicken pieces were under cooked. PLEASE NEVER VISIT THIS PLACE IF YOU ARE IN BHAGSU !!!! Hate it!!! Wish I could actually do something about it. :)
Akash Aggarwal
A very nice bakery and cafe just outside the temple. I ordered Tibet Momo's, lemon honey ginger tea, fries for my kid and their famous bhagsu cake.

All items were tasty and reasonably priced.
Aggarwal Himanshu
Ordered a tiramisu coffee but got a regular coffee ! Croissant was fine ! Nice place to sit and chill ! Very easy to find as it is in the centre of the market.
Rahil Khan
Amazing food, cozy ambience and polite staffs...a cup of mochachino and banana pancake makes ur rainy evening quite pleasant. also try there Italian and Israeli food.... shakshouka is a must try and also lasagne !! amazing !
Jyotika Matreja
After a trek from temple road to bhagsunag we found this German Bakery. We tried the infamous Bhagsu Cake and cold coffee. The Bhagsu cake was yummy. It was a good choice. We also got more parceled for friends and family. It's a good place to stop by in Bhagsunag.

So yesssss, this was the only place in mcleodganj where I enjoyed! Food was great which was not at all expected in hills! I was there with my husband and it was just few steps away from our hotel. So coming back to food, we first tried momos and spring roll plus strawberry shake, great taste, quality was so nice. Next we had mix sauce pasta and pizzaa, again overwhelmed with taste!
We had shake again next day. Bunty, one of Their staff member assisted us well. Ambience is okayishh. They serve so many cuisines. Must visit if you are in mcleodganj.
Drashti Patel
Worst for dinner and very egoistic staff who behaves very rude with tourists . Our whole family was waiting for water and the manager said that v r out of crockery , meanwhile there was a table reserved for local family everything including glasses was arranged and here we completed the dinner then glasses were not arranged . Worst experience in dharamshala . Instead try food in hotel ak continental or try bhagsu cake at the smart shop .
Missfoodaficionado
We had their Paranthas, tea, Pesto Pasta, Mushroom Mutter Masala and Greek salad on different occasions. The taste and quality is good though the Pasta lacked mushrooms which was included in the menu.
Bhawna Khattar
The Lemon pastry and the Banana bread is worth giving a try. Though both have a dry texture , the flavors are just overwhelming.
Pretty average ambience but quick and fresh serve.
