Review Snow Lion - Dharamsala

Kainat Panjwani
We came here for breakfast. We had the Snow lion special breakfast combo and the American breakfast combo. The fresh apple/orange juice was yummy. The breakfast was light and tasty. The homemade jam was a little on the sweeter side for me. The milk tea was average. The service was quick and the staff was polite. It is one of the very few places that is open for breakfast in the early hours. Thank you for having us, Snow Lion restaurant. We enjoyed our breakfast.

I love this place. Great service, good peaceful ambience and great food. I couldn’t find any good place to eat in Dharamkot so I came here regularly. The prices are also very affordable

Espresso is good here. They have books for reading, but not enough lighting. So, bring a lamp along. Pancakes are good here. I didn’t like the momo I got only because I don’t like spinach and cheese. What else? Good ambience. You’ll feel the shakyamuni beaming down on you, especially on Saturdays. It’s probably due to the place being pure vegetarian and its proximity to the temple. I liked the fried rice, but I did not like the vegetable soup. Anything breakfast is a sure fire winner. Anything not breakfast is a sure fire you know what. Don’t sit next to the window. You can if you’re a Saint. The nearby poor people beg by the windows. I couldn’t finish much of my food due to being stricken in the conscience.

Of all the places I ate at while my vacation in McLeod Ganj, this was the best. The food is good, but the ambiance is even better. It gives the vibes of a cozy cafe. They have plenty of books and you can easily have conversations with friends without loud music disturbing you. I loved the carrot cake here.

The best place to eat, relax and share time with your thoughts or your friends. Kalsang, the owner is kind, compassionate and super thoughtful. The staff and chefs are brilliant. Snow lion has an ambience and a vibe unlike no other, it’s a place for me that feels like home. The menu is extensive but all the meals are lovingly prepared with fresh ingredients in a clean environment and everything is made from scratch. I was thrilled with the overwhelming amount of vegan options from snacks to meals, side dishes to the delicious pancakes. Really quite excellent vegan food! I can’t recommend this place enough and will eat here time and time again whenever I spend time in this area.

Beautiful coffee shop, cafe, and guesthouse upstairs. Jazz lightly plays while you can sip your coffee and read any of the hundreds of books in the library. Tibetan owned and operated. One of my favorite spaces for quiet reflection in McLoud (McLeod)

My friend and I ate here 3 times the 3 days we were in dharamshala. The food was so good, I wish I had more days there to try even more. Every time we came in, it smelt so good. We ordered the Thukpa, Thenthuk, cheese spinach momos, chocolate banana pancake, banana honey porridge, veg omelette, veg & cheese burger, and I can’t remember the name but it’s bread stuffed with vegetables and a cheese deep fried (see pic). All of it incredible. The first visit we spent 5 hours there reading, and it felt like home away from home. They didn’t even kick us out which we would totally have understood if they did. Oh also I got the Apple pie with ice cream, just do it, you won’t regret it. They have a bookshelf with books you can read. Great Wi-Fi! The people there are so nice, I like how you can write down your order so there’s no confusion. The vibes are cozy and the food is good and at a reasonable price. Come here, feel good and be happy. 😌

The food was tasty. I recomend their protein shake with banana and blueberry as well as seeds like chia seeds and other grains. They have sofas which make it really cozy and nice to sit. They also have a book shelf.

Nice small room with beautiful view. Amazing vegetarian food and very polite people. They have the best thenthuk (homemade pasta) in McLeod Ganj! Thank you for everything! Love to stay here.
