Review My Kitchen - Dharamsala

Akanksha Pandey
My Kitchen is a lovely little home kitchen run by Sarita. One can order in or eat in their cosy dining space. The food is made fresh when ordered. It really tastes like home, simply made, delicious and no unnecessary masalas. Sarita & her husband are wonderful people who love feeding people and will make one feel very welcome.

Awesome bhutanese food away from bhutan. Best is the hospitality provided by Vikas and Sarita a nepalese couple who love to host guests in their simple restaurant.

The only authentic Bhutanese restaurant in town. Owner is friendly and will guide you through the menu. Highly recommended. They also have a small library and charging points if you want to spend some more time.

I absolutely loved this food. Vikas was very helpful and made my order perfectly. The food is better than any other tibetan/Bhutanese food I have tried in Dharamshala area, especially since there is some tough competition out there. Keep up the awesome work and great things will come. Highly recommend the mushroom dish!

Home cooked and freshly prepared!! Kewa Datshi was creamy and melt in your mouth; mushrooms that melt in your mouth. The Jasha Maroo was cooked to perfection with the chicken falling off of the bone. And the red rice was a nice complement to the riot of flavours presented. I forgot the name of the salad we had, but the mustard oil based vinaigrette was invigorating and hit the spot. 10/10 would visit again.

The awesomest place in Dharamshala to have comforting and satisfying food. Love the Bhutanese food and the lovely service. The newly added falafel is also delicious and a must have!

I ended up here on a chilly afternoon looking for a decent place for lunch. I had Goenhogay salad, Jashamaroo (chicken and spinach dish) and rice. The owners are very polite and we had a long and interesting conversation about Dharamshala. I really loved how well the salad tasted with the chicken! There were tons of flavor in the dishes. I don't know about authentic bhutanese but it satisfied my taste buds. The owners even curated the amounts and lowered the rates so that I don't have a lot of leftovers!
Overall, a fabulous experience indeed! I am recommending these dishes to everyone! For the other reviews about biriyani, well, why would you order biryani from a Bhutanese restaurant! Also, please drop by for the full experience.

The only place in town offering authentic Bhutanese food. The Bhutanese salad, creamy Mushroom curry & Chicken Jashimaro are amazing. Biriyani is also decent, though rice portion could be better. Fantastic host and great ambiance. Highly recommended.

Previous reviews were misleading. Better Biryani options in Dharamshala. Rice was not properly cooked and it was salty. To me it was a waste of money. Quantity was average not good not bad. I eat less and I wouldn't have my fill. Less vegetables, you could say that it was a fried rice spotted with coloured rice grains.

In the end, I would say that I was going for a Chicken Fried Rice from The Noodle House but I opted for this because fried rice could be oily. Same was the case here...oily. I must say that it had all the spices that one would use in Biryani... yielded in a very poor result though.

Cook should improve as I thought on Biryani Saturdays one would be dedicated to Biryani only. Leads to loss of reputation.

I just ordered Hyderabadi Dum Biryani on zomato. It was delicious. They used good quality of rice which was cooked well. Cinnamon used in the flavouring was good. The biryani was sent with equally good onion raita.

Amazing biryani! Haven't got a chance to try the other things on the menu. Will update review soon now that home delivery is an option. Don't miss the Biryani Saturdays :)
