Review Gokul Oottupura - Ernakulam

One of the best veg restaurants in Kochi and tried their morning special Chilli Panner Dosa. It tasted fantastic! The restaurant had a warm ambiance and was usually crowded most of the time. The flavors were impressive, and the presentation was lovely. The staff was attentive and friendly, making the whole dining experience enjoyable. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great veg food in Kochi. Recommended dish (for Breakfast) : Chilli Paneer Dosa and Bullet Idli

All time favourite for South Indian food specially dosa, uttapam and south indian thali. For kerela food lovers a must tey place. Not to miss- peri peri idli ( mini), filter coffee. North indian thaali, chapatis and few other items also available 🔵hygiene-4.5/5 🔵food-4/5 🔵service- 4/5

This place is always crowded. So you may have to wait for sometime. But once you are seated and order is taken, wait time is not that much. In spite of the rush, the staff is very pleasing and always smiling. We ordered the peri peri idli, masala dosa and Gobi masala dosa. All tastes very good.

Gokul ootupura is one of my current favourite spots. Recently, whenever i visit kochi I visit panampilly just to go there. Gokul ootupura has got very tasty nadan food also chats available. And their nanari cooler is must must try. All their snack items like uzhunu vadas and parupuvadas is superb tastyy.

A wonderful place for vegetarian food. We had meals and it was absolutely authentic Kerala meals. The rasam, thiyall and kalan were mind blowing....on top of that a yummy pala ada. Highly recommended for people who relish a Kerala veg meals. They also have chappati, dosa , iddli ,etc . Would love to try those next time.

Went here for a late lunch! Ordered a ghee roast, bullet idly, vada, Pani puri and lime soda!! Apart from the Pani puri, everything was really good! Served hot and fresh! Loved the small bullet idly that was served! Ghee roast was hot and fresh! Vadas were really good and I loved the sweet lime soda! The Pani puri was a let down as there was a weird stale taste in it. Good place to have really good fresh food. Service was super as the waiter who served was very kind.

Loved that it's a vegetarian place considering there weren't many vegetarian restaurant options around our stay in Kochi. We made it a point to eat here only. In this area there are a couple more veg restaurant options and Gokul Ootapoora was our savior for sure. We had kottu parotta, bullet idli, Vada sambar and kept going back for more.ofcourse we drowned ourselves in filter coffee too. It's a busy place and always crowded but not so much that you have to stand in a queue or reserve a spot. The servers are great too. 😃

One of the coolest place I’ve visited. You can see it’s crowded and top demand for its food varieties. No doubt you’ll enjoy the menu here with delicious dishes . We tried mix of south and bit touch of north and we just loved it.
Ashi Goyal
Being a north Indian, it is highly recommended place. You can visit for breakfast, lunch, dinner. Just loved it♥️

If you are in Panampilly Nagar and want to have a vegetarian meal, this is a safe bet. The largest of the franchisees in Cochin is unique in offering a covered and wheel-chair accessible outdoor seating area, in addition to two dining halls. These can be accessed via two steps with side rails. Food is the usual fare and will definitely not let you down. The dosa was crisp but the consistency of the chana accompanying the bhatura was could be thicker. The onion uttappam fared better with it's rich toppings lending a welcome tangy flavour to the dish. Also serves an assortment of fruit juice. A notable aspect is the provision of clean washrooms which is something not all eateries in Cochin can boast of. The parking lot right outside can hold five hatchbacks but the whole of Panampilly Nagar is available so finding parking is not really an issue 🙂.

Located in a prime location, it's a very good place for your breakfast or evening snack. The taste felt authentic. The service was very friendly. Spacious table and even the table gaps where decent enough. Loved they have their wash area placed outside the dinning room.

Awesome 👌🏻 Quality food, great service and enough parking space. What else does a restaurant provide!!! Items are very tasty and there are good varieties of dishes available here.. Service by the staff is very good, and the restaurant is easily accessible from the main road.

I visited this eatery for the first time and the food swept me away. The Chole Bhature, Pani Puri & Tea that we ordered were really fresh and had authentic vegetarian flavours. The amazing food & ambience provided at such reasonable prices is honestly a good deal.

Good food and good service. Ordered ghee roast. It was so crispy and chutneys and sambhar served along with it was also good. Good ambience. Best place to hangout for vegetarians if you are in panampilly nagar . Parking also available nearby

A Good Family Friendly Vegetarian Restaurant. With wonderful parking space.
The best thing is the ambiance of this place. Neat and clean dining area. The food is also fine.
They make the best paneer I’ve had.
Not too spicy.
Worth for money.

Nice place for dining with family

Very arrogant staff. Asked me and my mom to squeeze into a table with another guy despite the fact that the extension part of their restaurant was open and vacant. Asked her many times why we couldn’t sit there and her reply was that if we go sit there more people will come and use that space , which would In-turn make it harder for their staff to clean.
And in another instance the cashier was rude to me simply because I didn’t have change with me. He , in a very rude way asked me to go get change.
Never going there again , simply because the staff is rude and arrogant.

You get insects in the meal... pathetic!

Went here on a friend's recommendation. Ended up having the best dosa of my life. The must try outs include dragon idli, though after having one plate they were out of it. Prices are decent. A good standard of filter coffee too.

Recommendations : Ghee Roast, Ghee Podi Dosa, Dragon Idli

Craving some desi food but can’t decide between a Northern or Southern meal? Gokul Oottupura is the place to go. The food here is 100% vegetarian, and 100% delicious!

On our visit, we had the Ghee Roast Dosa, Chhola Bhatura and cold coffee.

The dosa was crisp and doused generously with ghee. While most restaurants nail the dosa, they miss out on mastering the sambar and chutney. Oottupura continues to bring their A-game with these condiments and they’ll bring you more if you ask for it.

The chhola bhatura was not very greasy, packed some serious flavor and was incredibly filling.

We had ordered our cold coffees along with the meal but it was only brought to us once we were done eating. However, the taste and texture made up for the massive delay. It was creamy, decadent, and just the right amount of sweet. Consider being kinder to turtles and forego the straw for your drink.

GO is always packed and bustling but service moves quick so you can find yourself seated without far too much wait. Items here are priced rather modestly, would you get the same things cheaper? Probably. But for the location and the heartiness with which the food is prepped, these prices are nominal.

I highly recommend Gokul Oottupura if you’re having a lazy day and craving some comfort food.

Food - 5/5
Service - 4.5/5
Price - 4.5/5
Ambience - 4/5

Horrible experience.
Oottupura used to be my family and my, favorite casual dining restaurant before the last 4 months, from when the staff had been replaced. I came excitedly one afternoon to oottupura and the waiters and servers there weren’t minding us, coming to take our orders, even though we kept signaling them. They knew we were their —obviously— ignored our signals and kept giving us attitude. Eventually, after a good 8 minutes, one waiter came to us without menus and told us that there were only 3 main items available and to choose from that, very irritatedly. I asked for the menu to see the sides but he just kept pushing by saying, ‘no just choose from these three.’ After asking for the menu 3 times, I got fed up and left the place. Horrible staff.
Anagha
The food here isn't anything different for a regular keralite coming for a one time meal here. But if you are a non resident of Kerala, this is the must place for you!!! You will love the way they plate evry dish. And their flavour has a very unique blend of the local flavours as well as the exotic ones.. the ambience is great too.. in short its an ADIPWOLI place❤✨

if you wanna go and eat
Cons
1.its crowded all the time
2. No a/c
3. Potato dishes can give you food poisoning
Pros
1.you can spend time even with a coffee
2. Atmosphere is nice
3. Food is average but not bad
4. Chats are really good
5. Good and mannered staffs
For food delivery, it showed 30-35 minutes in app, but took an hour! I tried doing live zomato chat, but they asked to wait and wait but nobody came.
The curry had leaked in bag, I am not blaming the delivery boy as the packaging itself was poor. I ordered 2 set poori and 1 idli. The poori was so crispy like pappad. I do not know if you would even consider my review, you can even delete this review marking it as spam. But this is not fair. THANKYOU.

Incredible Sunday sadiya. Fresh juices are excellent too! The service was warm and friendly and we were so glad we came here for a Sunday afternoon meal.

Good South Indian food. Both online and other ways ordering from here is worth. If you are ok Search of good south Indian, this place is worth.

Good vegetarian food for all ages. Ample car parking space nearby. Nice service. Breakfast and lunch very good. Variety of food for all times.

Have been to this place multiple times. I'm a pure meat eater by heart but whenever there is a craving for great vegetarian food, this has to be the place. Have tried everything on the menu over the course of four years but my favorite things to order are garlic naan, dal tadka and paneer tikka. Would definitely recommend this to vegetarians and this is a must visit when people come visiting to kochi.

Superb food. We ordered kerala thali, curd rice, rawa onion dosa n veg jalfrazi. Every thing was great. N staff also very friendly. Ambience is also very good.

CHILLY POROTTA from Gokul Oottupura
Oottupura as the name suggests is a place where food is served..
It has branches across the city like in... Kadavanthara, MG road, Panampilly nagar

CHILLY POROTTA is a mixture of our very own naadan porottas induced with chinese flavours. .
It's cooked along with Onions,Capsicum and it is mixed well with chinese flovored masalas and sauces and finally garnished with spring oninons and coriander leaves..... . .
And the dish was served with Raita. which seemed to be a mismatch for this Chinese dish.... The dish was moderately crispy and spicy .... . .
Ootupura is one of the best Restaurants in town who serves yummy Chilly Porotta for just ₹80 and it will satisfy our crave.....
. . . . .
Rating 3/5
-----------------------
Taste 3/5

Service 3/5

Ambience 3/5

Located in Panampilly Nagar, Gokul Oottupura is a very popular restaurant.
The ambience was good, it was very crowded as expected. The waiters were really busy due to this very reason but that’s okay.
The Bullet Idli was really scrumptious! The sambar which it was immersed in was really tasty.
The Ghee Roast came a little cold but I think that’s because of the rush that the waiters were in. It was good, regardless.
Gokul Oottupura is a must visit if you’re near an outlet, especially for breakfast. The food won’t disappoint.

I already visited the Padivattom branch mmm all good there and now it’s Panampilly Nagar’s turn YEAH! Sorry for the same dish I tried already😬 One and only “Crispy Crunchy Corn🌽 because I really loved it🥰 and tried another starter “Chilli Potato🥔” small sliced potatoes with green chillies and some spice mixtures but not too spicy, really delicious🤤 and in the main course I tried the “ Butter Masala Dosa” just wow! I’m not a fan of masala dosa but this buttery dosa is just something else YEAH! And next the “Chettinadu Paneer Masala”something like that (but not in the picture) with butter nan mmm just awesome and finally the “Cold Horlicks” mmm good👍 but the tea☕️ disappoints, not good enough and one thing too the ambiance, its busy, disturbing, loud, closely to cooking area but overall good😀

I happened to have their paper masala dosa once and it was huge. I was full 3/4th way. It's something 2 people can eat. The guys there were generous enough to serve me sambhar and chutney continuously. The chart section which opens after 5pm was a bit disappointing to me, but I guess that's not a general opinion. There are people who like their chaats.
Sidharth C.R
Good coffee. Desirable dosa and sambar is delicious.. One should also try the chaat varieties here. It's crowded during the evenings and office goers probably. Several options of vegetarian fine dining and one should not miss trying it atleast once in Panampilly Nagar. More of a joint than a restaurant where one can come and chill out with friends maybe.

I was just dining there right now and the waiter who was taking my order was not polite and seemed like not serving the food ( he was wearing black shirt ) we ordered dragon idli, crispy corn kennel, butter masala dosa and after this was served I wanted to order something else so I happened to ask this boy in black shirt what can I order and what is available he said nothing only dosa as we are closing my last order is 10:15 and it was 10 when I had to order, I just left the restaurant now by paying the Bill for my first order
Disappointed by service, however quality of food is good

Giant Dosas and aromatic coffees. Though the place was overcrowded on a holiday we managed to get seats after a short wait. The food though didn't take much time and we were welcomed with a giant paper masala dosa which tasted as yum as it appeared. We followed it up with podi masala dosas and onion roasts and more paper masala dosa. The dosas were crisp, hot and tasty. The coconut chutney and sambar were just run of the mill kind though. Surprisingly, the bill totalled to just 900 bucks with the seven of us gorging till we were fill to the throat.

Overall, a perfect spot for a sumptuous, light-on-the-pocket and tasty breakfast. You might have to wait to get a seat though.

Best dosa ever!!! The ghee used is different from the usual hotel dosas! Tried out various varieties of dosas , podi roast is my favourite so far..

Nothing much can wrong with this place. A must visit when I am in this side of town. However chutneys in the last visit were a tad disappointing.... Probably a bad day for the cooks. Would prefer the South Indian food here rather than the chats etc.

If I could, I'd rate it lower. I've had two experiences here. Both preceded by an extensive wait for seating. The first time was years ago and I was severely let down by the quality of the Paneer dosa. Made an informed decision to not visit again. Went against better judgement and visited today. Same amount of waiting. Once seated we placed our order. On two occasions the server came back to our table to inform us that the items we ordered were unavailable...a good while after confirming our order each time. Then the manager after a good twenty minutes with an apology; he informed us that our food has been wrongly delivered to someone else and that they had heartily accepted and were consuming our order, and that they would take a little bit more time to cook up our order again. It'd been an hour since entering this establishment and I still hadn't eaten a thing. We made a wise decision, we left this preposterous place... I've never understood the mad rush to getting seated here. The food is mediocre, the service as I've experienced today is a joke...

To all the vegans in town, Gokul Ootupura serves fine vegetarian Dishes and it has got some amazing Chaat Dishes which reaches the level that of a local chaat Shop.
It’s got a really friendly environment and the service is on point, they won’t keep you waiting for the dish.
First of all if your a dosa Fan your must try the crispy Paper Dosa which is extra crispy and tasty and satisfies your stomach.
Chaat lovers prepare yourself and try out the samosa chaat, paav bhajji and all the other chaat items, it won’t disappoint you for sure !
A plate of hot crispy served Dosa and a cup of tea/Coffee is the best combination one must try from here. Even the vada- sambhar combination is a hit !

Ordered the Puri set and a filter coffee. The potato baji can be described as at most, mediocrely good. Lacks any spice, and felt watered down. Puri was scrumptious, but a bit on the oily side. Overall, an average breakfast experience.
Vandana Ramesh
I felt it only as an average veg restaurant. The ambience is good. Their south Indian dishes are better than the north Indian ones. It's a good option for vegetarians in the heart of the city.

Worst customer care by manager. All other waiters are very friendly . We we're regular there at least once in a month. One day when we reached there it was just 10:30 pm. And the Manager rudely said that he won't let us inside. My daughters who are aged 2 years and 9 years were very hungry and people were still having food there. I pleaded him to let us in and serve food at least for my daughters. I checked with waiters and they confirmed that food are there in kitchen. The Manager was very adament that we will not let anybody in after 10:30 pm no matter what. I understand that it must be their policy , but can't they show some sympathy to my two small daughters who were crying because of hunger. Then at last we drove to another small road side resataurant to have dinner.
Had papdi chaat, butter masala dosa and coffee with my family. The food here is good, pure vegetarian. Seeing the place, ambience and the staff or service, overall the experience was good. The only thing that bothered me was the charging of GST on the Packaged drinking water bottle. That isn't allowed in restaurants as far as i know. Otherwise i would have given 4 stars.
Ambience-4/5
Food-3.5/5
Service-4/5
Staff-4/5
Experience-3.5/5
Crispy Masala dosas and Ghee Roast with some good chutneys and sambar? This is the place! Our go to go breakfast outlet! Very consistent food and serves really quick everytime! Recently tried one of their new items called the Bullet Idli which is nothing but teeny tiny idlis submerged in sambar! Good try! Tess George

This place would be our favourite breakfast outlet in town! Never fails to disappoint us. Been there so many times that I have lost count. Big fan of there Masala Dosa and Ghee Roast. The chutneys and the sambar that accompanies it altogether makes it a perfect breakfast for us!
Recently, they launched these varieties of mini idlis and we tried this one called 'Bullet Idlis'. 10 pieces of mini idlis for around Rs.70 I think. It was almost like sambar idli expect that it was mini idlis this time. Nothing too great but again very trendy. Nearly Rs.7 for one tiny idli is not something pocket friendly! Apart from that, I would still recommend it for the classic items on their menu! Blesson

This used to be my usual place for breakfast and dinner during my stay in Kochi. Its a good place for vegetarian food.At evening they also serve chaats and other North Indian items. The place has a fairly good seating capacity and the ambience is also good. The rates are a bit on the higher side but the quality justifies the pricetag.I would definitely suggest this place for vegetarians especially for dinner options.

Their fried rice and mushroom pepper masala was of poor quality with no flavour. Service was satisfactory.#noflavour#dontgohere#somewhatsatisfactory#anokrestaurant

Big things are Always fascinating... Especially when everyone else stares at what you order... Hence I always go to gokul for paper roast which is as long as a 2 year old kid... But this paper roast was tooo crispy.. Toooo much that it was unpleasantly tough to eat. But the one I had from kadavanthra branch was much much better. I prefer the kadavanthra branch. The fried rice and chilli chicken was good. Good but does deserve bragging rights or anything.

Amazing place, amazing food, value for moneybut the only drawback is they dnt have an ac and there kitchen is open so it makes it more hot and suffocating to sit inside, outdoor sitting is amazing

Love their food ............anytime good
Chats or snacks or thali s ...paneer dosa is yum ....shud try all in their menu ...good service and ambiance:)
Had curd vada, paper roast, podi masala dosa and oottappam. Every thing ordered was served hot and tasty.
The size of the vadas have reduced from the last time I visited this place.

Always crowded and busy and buzzing, shows how popular the place is and how good the food is. Must go place for some yummy hot food.
Aneesh C K
the quality has gone for a toss. whatever you order the taste/flavour will be north-indian. imagine the masala of masala dosa tasting like north-indian aloo curry. if you are good at serving south indian food stick with it.
Akhila Antony
Had the best thaali melals from this restaurant....
Customer service is excellent...
Affordable prices...
Tastes are worth satisfying....
If your looking for vegitable food should go to this restaurant..❤

Nice setting and fine service. Came here for breakfast one morning, had tea and masala dosa. Was okay, definitely have had better masala dosas. Probably a bit overpriced. The interiors are nicely done.

Worst staff !! Not almost finished ordering or eating , bill on table comes first fr one one item ! It’s like they r kicking you out of the place asap ! Do not order more at all , ur bill is here , get lost ! A north eastern looking waitress , she is the pathetic one; so arrogant staff and so inhospitable!! Would never enter this place ! Came here to eat and pay , nt to pay n leave n dnt eat !!
The_munching_rover
I have had there south Indian meal, masala dosa, biryani, chhole bature and pav bhaji. Biryani is not good, South indian meal and masala dosa were just ok while i guess there chhole bature and pav bhaji are the best in Kochi but pricey based on the quantity given. Ambience is good for an evening outing.

Today I went again, even chhole bature did not taste like the previous time. Presentation zero, even at home one would serve the dish in a better manner.
FoodInMyLens
We ordered a Mushroom Pulav, Podi Dosa, Sambar Vada, Schezuan Fried Rice along with 2 Filter Coffees and a Lime Soda. The Mushroom Pulav has no flavor of an authentic Pulav, the Schezuan Fried Rice is more like Fried Rice which has been mixed with Tomato Sauce, and the Podi Dosa - I asked for a podi dosa but got a Podi Roast Dosa which made it really hard for me to enjoy it and I ended up totally ruining my upper palate. Thank You.
Service is dam slow. The servers don't even bother to pay attention to you. This place has most definitely lost it's old charm. I will not be going back here for more, and no I won't be suggesting this place at all.
Price : Rs. 398/- (for four).

For the full review check out my blog !

Dont try this gobhi manchurian here manager told that it is crispy manchurian but it feels like chewing something really hard. Ambiance is good. Try panjabi paneer here atleast better then rest..
Kenneth Philip
To begin with. I don't know what all the hype was about. The food wasnt that great as I've heard people say about it. Although hats off for the ambience and the retro class look. If the staff learnt some pointers on how to handle the needs of the customers and to bring food on time, it would really be a great place to eat
Aarya
Well known for their ghee roasts,PANEER BUTTER MASAALAA and Horlicks 👶🏼 and me being a frequent visitor here experienced something bad.
The feeling of hot crisp ghee roasts is something beyond words and today I got it cold and dry and it just ruined my day and they also didn’t give my ALL TIME FAV Horlicks👶🏼(they even tricked me to have boost)

And as always KEEPING ALL THOSE FLAWS ASIDE,this is a great place for breakfast or an evening snack.

👶🏼.

The behavior of the staff is very bad
What all is in the menu is not available all the time not even Naan
Not worth visiting
The food overall is OK but north Indian food is not good

not a person who enjoys veg food, however, had roti and paneer butter masala, it was good. have been here a couple of times. the ambiance was fine

Gokul ootupura is getting worse day by day. They are not in interested in maintaining customers.food is also very bad these days lack of quality and taste. Many times I had bad food but a Sunday I bought spl meal's parcel, first quantity was very less and taste was bad and payasam was spoiled it was not late also around 1pm. Will try again for sure if they make it like old. They definitely need a change or there old cooks left.
Manu K.M
Very bad service. The staff is very unhelpful. Please avoid unless doing delivery. The phulka came partially uncooked, and curry mixed was nothing special. Parathas are decent though
Evan Thomas
Ootu ours is the perfect place for that authentic kerela breakfast. Dosas are a specialty here. Had the podi dosa which is like a ghee roast with “samandi” podi inside. Delicious 😋

We went to have chaat.
Service was slow. It took almost fifteen minutes for them to take our order.
We ordered dhahi poori.
It was nice but the curd was a bit sour.
Reejan Raju
If your a vegetarian or your own your diet this place is a must visit....Great ambience and service with amble parking...their masala dosa used to be good
John Anthraper
Gone are the days !!! A place that has certainly seen better days ... food quality has been on a consistent decline in the past couple of years ... The food currently is rather average at best with even a simple ghee roast being a non-crisp slop! I've always had decent service (though primitively slow even at 7 in the morning with just 4 tables occupied!!!) from the staff waiting on me... but indifference from the staff behind the counter.... Convenience and a lack of other alternatives are the only reasons to go there now.... sigh !!!
Stibin Raphel
A perfect place for vegans I guess. The place is pretty good when it comes to food. They have varieties of vegetarian foods. Coming to the food I ordered a chilly porotta and poori masala which quite nice.

One of the most hyped place . My stay was near to this hotel and someone suggested me to have my food at this place.
I ordered north Indian food found nothing good from my order does you really know the meaning of chapati !
I thought they might be good in South Indian food which was my biggest mistake I visited this place for my breakfast very next day and again I got upset by taste quantity and yeah price too.
Hospitality word is totally missing
No waiter seems to be interested in taking your order ..Wonderful place if you demand onions there reply will be it's not in our policy gr8 !!
Ritty Chandran Nandilath
Loved the ambience..cozy and homely.. Loved the food! Masala dosa was just amazingly yummy with ghee crispy dosa and I liked their tea too 😍😍
Rathu Krishna
Most hyped place in the city. Their food is just ok nothing extraordinary. Day by day the quality of the food is degrading. Have tried almost all their dishes North Indian including chaat as well as South Indian. Nothing to be highlighted plus not at all pleasing kind of service. The attitude of the waiters is very bad. Last visited this place two months back so no idea about the present scenario. Been to this place many times due to its easy accessibility as its in the prime location.

My daily breakfast spot....Crispy ghee roast and onion podi roast...I just love their consistency...Everyday I'll get the same taste. Only negative about the restaurant is that they do not have A/C. In summer its really hot since they have a open kitchen.
The Food Guy
Closest vegetarian place to my home and probably the most often visited by wife & me. This place always serves tasty dosas, nice idlis and decent puttu-kadala. Coffee is also yummy.

Some of the north indian dishes are also good, but there are definitely some dishes which must be avoided (like Mushroom dishes).

This place is definitely a lifeline for folks in Panampally nagar. Quick service, cost effective and hot yummy food. What more do we need!

Do visit this place if you are around. You won't regret having their dosa!
Johns Daniel
Good vegetarian food...healthy options
Hygiene condition
Butter paneer is best👌
Variety of shakes as mint lime, oreo etc
Not much waiting time..
This one we went is the Panampilli Nagar outlet. Its on the roadside and very easy to locate. We went there at around 10pm and the place was packed. The menu is the typical veg restaurant one, nothing much different. They have got a chat stall as well.

Taste: Lovely. I ordered a Paper Roast . It was one of the most crispiest I've ever had. And there is something worth mentioning, the chutney. Man! Uve to visit the place just for this I would say.Just for this! Both the red and white chutney! We tried pani Puri which was quite good. The chola batura too was yummy.

Ambience : Traditional Kerala interiors with all the bamboo shades and wooden decor! I wasn't much impressed by the ambience though 1) Since they have got an open kitchen and the place was packed, I felt it was too stuffy and hot inside.2) Seating wasn't much comfy.

Value for money : Decent pricing and food was yes tasty!

Service : Unlike other places, I didn't have the need to ask for a refil of the chutney/ sambar. The quantity was more than sufficient.

Pros : Exclusive vegetarian restaurant. If you really want to enjoy proper veg food or if you have some chat craving, guess this is a good option. Prominent location.
There is no chance that you would miss the place, easy to locate. Good parking.

Cons : Well again, a personal opinion- To justify the "traditional decor" ,they had these raised wooden seating adjacent to the wall which I felt aint comfortable for dining. This is about the corner tables though. They do have chairs, which again didnt seem to be comfy enough for me. And the place is a lil stuffy too.

If you looking for some authentic south Indian vegetarian dish ootupura is an option.

Wonder how I skipped reviewing a restaurant were we are regular. Though I love their dosas and coffee, I would not recommend their chaats. A decent place where to visit with family for meals or even to sit and enjoy their coffee.

Vegetarian well served!!
Be it a simple Dosa with the chutney, it's just mind blowing👍😄
I visit all the hotels & restaurant, but I never had such tasty Indian food in my whole life. "You'll always remember your first bite of Gokul Oottupura".....

The waiter who was such a nice person and we tiped him big too!!😊 My mum was like, 'such a sweet heart'.
The decor was Good but lacked some pop (if u know what I mean). Loved it!! And I'll be back again for Dosas and my Fav batoora😘 and Paani Puri😘....

we went to this place before a week. a lot of things in the menu wasn't available which was a disappointment. The place was almost crowded. The service was really poor, we had to wait 10 mins for the waiter to notice us. Coming to food , it was average , we had a masala dosa and veg biriyani, both tasted ok.
i would only suggest this place if you are in the area and is in need of vegetarian food.

Well Gokul oottupura has always been my favourite when it comes to vegetarian dishes. What better than this. So dropped in to have a quick snack. Had chilly porotta which was quite good. However my favourite would still be their dosas! I simply love them. Promt service and good ambience. Good work guys. Cheers.

Love the dosas here! Definitely one the most loved restaurants in Panampilly Nagar.
The location is also really good. Overall the place has food that makes you come back for more. Keep up the good work guys.

Like always this place is one of the best vegetarian food option available in and around Panampilly Nagar. The food is always really good and service is also really good. Well of all the Gokul Ootupura the service at this place is the best. Ordered a masala dosa which was really good. The only thing bad was I got a small chunk of potato with the skin on it

Enjoyed some chaat here.. We ordered dahi puri, pav bhaji, bhel puri and samosa chat. Unfortunately pav bhaji was not available, so we went for assorted chaat. Gokul ootupura and aavi is in the same premise. Ambience is good. Nice place to enjoy time with friends and family. Chaat was really good.. So we ordered a Punjabi panneer(parcel) which tasted yum!!! .. and their service is really good. A nice place to enjoy food with friends n family!!!

Location and hygiene wise it's good. But the price menu is lesser in their another branch @ Kadavantra than here. I confirmed it with the staff at the cash counter, but forgot to ask why? Lime juice alone they charged 35/- which was very pathetic. Totally disappointed with their price menu for the food n beverages they are giving. Because under 2km u ll get same thing from their another branch with same taste and that too lesser in price.

Fabulous and refreshing set up and food.. that's how I would sum it up. The dahi vada, sambhar vada, elai ada and meals were just super tasty. The rates were quite reasonable in comparison to the other similar places around. Quite and quite hygiene setting. Coffee and tea also lived upto the mark. It does have Chaat items, but have kept it for another time.
Taste - 5/5
Quantity - 4.5/5
Variety - just apt for such a place (though not a very long spread) - hence giving 5/5
Ambience - 4.5/5
Value for money - 4.5/5
Overall - 4.5/5. Not giving a 5, just to leave a space for improvement.

I love the chats at this place. I am pretty sure all the vegeterians out there would love this place. They serve both north indian and south indian dishes. Very neat and healthy food. Great service too. Apart from their chats and varieties of dosas, the chola baturas also stands out.

Having hot filter coffee, crispy dosas , spicy chutney while it's raining outside & the cool monsoon breeze flows through!

That was our experience at this nice simple cozy place with fast wholesome food.

Really spacious and a clean restaurant serving vegetarian food. They have both South Indian and North Indian food on the menu. Well lit ambience, however the food is nothing out of the ordinary.
GISHNU UNNI
The best place to have a cup of tea & dosa's along with a plate of chaat at Panampally ! The dosa's and chaat served there are the best in the city & pocket friendly too .

Price is little high, but food is good. Peanut butter shake is really good. But one of friends want us to rate this 2.4 because they don't serve non veg.

Love the chaat. Very neat and clean place. Hot coffee goes really well with the masala dosa and vada. Best is to go for breakfast. Good parking. Friendly staff.

Had ordered a north indian thali, which was pretty average with dishes having more Kerala flavours than north indian with a little too much of oil. Very average food overall. Should have ordered Kerala meals itself as I am guessing that's what Gokul's is famous for.
Tasty , fresh ,and good vegetarian foods for normal price ... I like the way they are useing bamboo and the ambience is really nice ... staffs and service is best
Ripudaman Gaba
Traditional vegetarian south Indian food well priced and good taste. Clean healthy wholesome food. Especially good podi Masala dosas. Chaats ok. Avoid north Indian food

This place stands out in the lane which is blessed with beautiful restaurants and arty boutiques. So why would a Bombay girl go to cochin and have chaat? Well, because she was not very hungry! And to satisfy a full tummy is a challenge! They did not disappoint. I had an assorted chaat which had 2 pieces of 4 types of chaat which was filling. The paneer tikka was delicately flavoured. They didnt have banana fry and the nutella shakes. The interior is done well, rustic like a chaya kada (tea shop in kerala). Service is good. Menu is limited and snacky.

Tip: it gets crowded especially between 8-9 and on weekends.
Parking space is limited
stick to their south indian fare, that's what they do best.
Shahana
Hygiene wise, the place is okay .
Always bustling with people of all age groups.
Food is good, not exceptional .
At times tends to get too oily.
Price is fine.
Really like theirs dosas, chilli porotta.
Vishag Asokan
A good veggie restaurant located in Panampily Nagar . The ambience is good with limited seating capacity and clean surroundings. Tasted mushroom masala along with butter roti . The food was good . The staff was responsive and welcoming . A good place to try out vegetarian food .

A cute comfy place, ideal for breakfast and evening snacks. I would recommend their chaat which starts in the evening. One of the really few places in kochi with good chaat.
Sangeetha Mohan
