Review Pai Brothers Fast Food - Ernakulam

Rakesh Ramaswamy
If you are a dosa lover you would enjoy visiting here, no doubt at all. I have had visited this Pai Dosa restaurant end number of times. It remains open till 2AM with an average footfall of 200 folks during week days evenings and around 300 folks during weekend evenings. A few points from my side:- Wide variety of menu Taste at its best Great service Ambience is average Crockery is okay Cleanliness to be improved Washrooms to be maintained well Enough parking space Always crowded(because food is good) Reasonable pricing Soft drinks/ Tea & Coffee also being served here. A must visit place in Kochi to hangout during evenings with friends and families. Even though there are other Pai Dosa restaurants in Kochi, this is the best one.

I feel like I've entered in a Brahmin agrahara, that the vibe was excellent šŸ‘ there is a lot varieties of dosa recipes and also some kind of sweets were available. Kind of good customer service and never feel bad with the quality of the food also. If the food presentation in any other way can be improved there supremacy even more better. That's the only suggestion .
Avinash M
Wide variety of dosas.. Must try 1. Thattil kutti dosa.. try with their dry coconut chutney 2. Garlic podi dosa Masala dosa wasn't impressive. 1 order comes with 2 pieces.

This place is a good option to try out varities of dosa. They have huge menu of dosa. We have tried thattil kutty dosa, masala dosa and special egg dosa. All these are tasty. We can try different types of dosas

Location is easily accessible with proper indication on MG road. Went with family and we asked the staff to order the variety dosa there. We didn't placed the order and you will get confused with the long list of dosas in this shop. SI bharathan dosa is a must try here. One dosa is enough fill the tummy. We order veg and egg varieties of dosa. Dosa tastes really good and side chutneys are not that great. Order lime juice along with it and had a nice time dining here. A few pics from my recent visit. Thank you

This is an absolute must if you love dosa. They have so many kinds! You could spend a month in India and not be able to try them all. They cook in front of you and so the experience is even more exciting. Also great coffee and service.

A paradise for Dosa lovers. No doubt at all. Huge variety to choose from. Lots of egg options too. Must visit. We had been here end times and enjoyed the variety to the fullest.

Hi guys, I tried 2 variety dosa ..one is kutti masala dosa nd next one is tomato onion dosa ..most favourite is kutti masala dosa..it's beautiful taste and 2 kutti masala dosa at affordable price..self service..firstly u select items and pay money then bill gave to kitchen section..they gave dishes nearly 10 minutes...dining area also spacious...specially I noticed that hot and normal drinking water available one-sided of the restaurant...nice food spot with affordable rate

Huge varieties of Dosa especially for dosa lovers. They says 36 varieties of dosa but you will find even more. First of all I need to highlight that this restaurant is not pure veg. This restaurant serves egg dosa's. Interior is average. Neat but still need some improvement. Need to pre pay food and only self service available. Parking space available. Accepts credit , debit cards & upi. Price is high compared to other restaurants. Located near MG Road metro station
Nainan Isaac
Very excellent location for having many varieties of dosa. My personal favourite is kada butter bullseye dosa. Over 36 varieties of dosa is available if not more. Cost is little on the premium side but the taste is excellent
Jewel Joseph
We have tried a no of variety dosas and omlets... Personal favourite was masala dosa and Kada bullseye... Highly recommended for those who love to try different types of dosa... Self service... Taste is good and they are preparing the food live... Ambience is not that much good.. because of they providing tasty food there is always too rush.. They have multiple outlets in kochi. I tried from MG road outlet and Edappally outlet

Must try if you want to try out different varieties of Dosas that are prepared freshly. Had a great time hanging out with friends.

Located in Pai Brothers lane, MG Road, Padma Junction, Cochin. Parking is readily available for both 2 and 4 wheelers. Seating area is neat and spacious. Staff members are also polite and helpful. This Kochi-based establishment(started back in 1987, now they have a total of 4 outlets in the city), offers a wide variety of dosas, more than a 100 in fact. One of my personal favourites is the podi egg dosa(120 rupees), which is tasty and filling for one person. Some of their crowd favourites include - SI Bharathan dosa, Dundu dosa, Kanchipuram roast, Salt and Pepper dosa, etc. Even though their prices are slightly on the higher side, many of their dosa varieties are large in quantity and can be shared by 2, even 3 people. Overall, this place still maintains their quality and taste, even though their prices have increased.
Asif Mohamed
Dosa lovers heaven with wide varieties of dosa. Salt and Pepper, Lasoon egg dosas are my favorite.

Pai brothers is a staple name for Dosa Eatery. They have around 36 signature varieties. They have been around for a long time and have been always a popular food joint. I feel that it was after the release of the Malayalam movie 'Salt and Pepper' that a typical food joint hunt resurfaced among Malayalis and Pai Dosa was one of the hot destinations. Pai Dosa is an Eggitarian restaurant. You won't find items with meat or fish but many of their dosa varieties have egg as a main ingredient. Thankfully, if egg is added, it is specifically listed in the name itself. Even though the restaurant is on a narrow side road of MG road, there are ample parking slots. As most of the orders are take away, there is a high chance you get a seat as well. I think they open late during daytime and stay open late at night(9 am to 1 am). Other than dosas, do not expect anything much, duh. However, the do at times serve puttu, and rasavada, dahivada etc. They also have some sweet options like kesari, laddu and Mysore pa. They offer tea, coffee, lemonade etc. As beverages. I wish this Pai dosa joint had a better wash area. The lighting and aesthetics also needs to be upped. I have not tried all of their varieties. However, the one I tried last time, Egg Onion Tomato, was nice. I remember Chocolate dosa was a big flop for me. Sambar and the chutneys are also generally ok but the lastbtime I had from here, the Sambar had too much Coriander in it. Overall, Pai Dosa is a must try if you are in Kochi. It has grown beyond reviews. Not all of us are fans though but something keeps pulling me towards Pai Dosa, whenever I am in the vicinity for food.
T Thomas
The go-to place in Kochi for dosa's. Different varieties of dosas. Reasonably priced too.
Antony Rohit
Huge assortment of dosas, especially for aficionados of dosas. There are considerably more dosa variations than the 36 that are listed. I should start by emphasising that this restaurant is not entirely vegetarian. Egg dosas are served at this eatery. The inside is typical. Nice, but need some work. Food must be pre-paid, and self serve is the sole option. Parking spot accessible. They accepts credit/ debit cards and UPI. In comparison to other similar eateries, the price is exorbitant.
Ganesh
The best dosa at this place is ommun masala which is perfectly spicy and also aesthetically awesome with its colours!!
Sonal Cherian
Dosa was made with old oil (Kariya velichana)... I am sure about that... Sambar was good and the cuttney...
Reshma Jairam Shenoy
I had Sambavam dosa. Bharatan si dosa. It is actually very unique from rest dosa outlets. Worth every penny !. Superb taste. Must try.

Good quality Dosa, multiple choice to choose.
Need to improve packaging.
Overall place to recommend.
Litto
Very Very Bad service, such irresponsible people over there , taking order in the restaurant not bothered to give the food in time , almost waited for half an hour and even after reminded them many times they dont bother, sad to see such type of hotels in ernakulam city , it will spoil the reputation of other hotels too. Never recommend to any one to visit here . Food is also not that good .
Reny Jacob
Such rubbish food, i ordered a ghee masala dosa and the sambar and chutney was horrible, some watery stuff and smelt so bad have no idea why this place is rated so highly worst place for south indian
Anija
One of those authentic and must visit places in kochi. Pai dosa is famous for their endless varieties of dosas, each one better than the other.

The kada mutta dosa is one of their specialities. The quantity is worth the price. They have a live counter where they make the dosas and it is self service.
Could improve on the ambience but overall worth a visit.
Priyanka Panicker
Frankly speaking I feel Paid is a bit too expensive compared to the ambience and quantity they provide.
Probably coz I never understood the logic of having disaster from outside.

Tattu dosa (ā‚¹50)
Is definitely value for money.

Loved it
Recommendations: Cheese Podi Dosa, Bheeman Roast

I first visited Pai Dosa seven years ago, aged 16. A few friends and I were out running errands and opted for this store tucked away down a lane off of MG Road. Since my move back to Kochi a couple months ago, Iā€™ve made several trips down to this little gem to get my fill of variety Dosa.

Paiā€™s started off with 36 varieties of dosa way back in the day. Theyā€™ve now expanded their menu to a whopping 180 and continue to retain their bustling alleyway store. Whatā€™s better than dosas cooked to crackly perfection? Getting said dosas well into the night; and thatā€™s exactly what Paiā€™s has to offer.

When speaking of Paiā€™s, my friend always gets a wistful look on her face. The words that then tumble off her lips on a sigh are ā€œCheese Podi Dosa!ā€ Podi is a popular South-Indian condiment to dosa, idli, etc. This spicy powder paired with a copious dispersal of mozzarella cooked over the crispiest dosa definitely warrants the dreamy look we all seem to get when speaking of this particular treat.

The Bheeman Roast is a MASSIVE plain dosa served with two chutneys and sambar. A portion of this is fit for a whole family! So, if you plan on plunging into a food coma, grab your best mate and indulge in this feast.

Masala, egg, garlic, onion, tomato, cheese, and much more fill the counter behind which these wholesome meals are prepped. Each ingredient is dealt with a generous hand making Paiā€™s one of the most pocket-friendly, value for money joints in town. Thereā€™s also a spacious parking lot right next to the store which is rare to come by on MG Road. The next time youā€™re around, make sure you check Paiā€™s out, you will not be disappointed.

Price - 5/5
Food - 4.5/5
Service - 4.5/5 (Self Service)
Ambiance - 4/5

I love the wide variety of dosas that was available. We ordered masala dosa the dosa was crispy chutney was tasty. Filter coffee served here is also pretty good but the issue is the cleaniness. At least the mg road outlet isn't very clean in my opinion so minus two stars for that
Sandeep Shenoy
I have been a regular to PBFF, MG Road since childhood. It's a paradise for Dosa lovers! The Masala Dosa served here is best that you will ever have. The taste is legendary!
Nishadh Yusuf/ Film Editor
Podi kada bulls eye dosašŸ‘Œ and speed delivery also so you can get very hot food. 36 dosa variety, some times be ome confused which one select
Remesh Parvathy
Food is good.. But why is there no online food delivery like before?... No delivery during day time as well. Please start online delivery like before.
Nimmy Abraham
They have like 179 varieties of Dosa. Only Vegetarian available. I've had their Kada Bullseye Dosa and the normal Bullseye Dosa. Both were good. The Kada Bullseye Dosa is a tummy filler. They serve with Samabar, chutney and achar. If you love Dosas, then you must visit this place. Affordable too.
Willington Gnana
Its on the MG Road. Very good location. The staff was good. The service was fast.

We ordered Masala Dosa n Utappa. The Dosa was very crunch n tasty. The utappa was very good sponge n taste. The sambar was of Malabar taste. Anyway the Sambar taste varies in the all four southern states. Chutney was good.

The rates are ok. The experience was good can recommend this place to friends.

A food tour through the city of Kochi is not complete without paying a visit at this iconic restaurant in MG Road. Started by 4 brothers half a century ago, this is the ultimate dosa joint for the people of city.

They serves over 100 types of dosas till 1 AM. SI Bharathan, salt and pepper, Volvo like that goes the names of some special dosas at Pai Dosa. If you are a first timer their, go for their podi dosas.
Sreelakshmi
Visited this place after a long time and sadly the dosas just taste OK.Not worth the price actually and I think the quantity has also decreased. The filter coffee was fine. The only good part is they have around 100+ varieties of dosas to choose from.
Srikanth Sri
I placed order for onion Dosa, many times I had in their restaurant only but today I was not feeling well so I thought to order in zomato in that some offer was there applied and taken. But I had the worst Onion Dosa of Pai brothers they sent plain Dosa and some chopped onions separately. It was not cooked and just a plain dosa. Usually they give onion Dosa well cooked dosa with onion. But this time it was worst just a plain dosa with some onions separately.

I think because of coupon applied on discount they served food like this. I am unhappy with the food and quality
Sanjana Sudhir
One of my all time favorite haunts in Kochi ever since I can remember! I make sure I get a different dosa each time I go. Do try their curd vada as well.
Amazing dosas..... unlimited variety...... can't say much about ambience or service ( as it's a self service place) no washrooms as well.....but the food itself was awesome...worth visiting again
Sarath Sanil
Went there in the evening time to have some snacks and tea but ended up having order lot of dosas for all of us in the group.... Dosas are really sophisticated and pricing but did not find it as tasty as we were expecting

An amazing place to have dosa . Once visited one wonā€™t stop from visiting back .They have a huge menu for dosa . They donā€™t have much to drink except for the lime juice !

Best Variety dosa place in Cochin. Canā€™t go wrong with most of the stuff available there.
My favourite being Salt & Pepper (it comes with eight quill eggs inside along with other masalas) and thier plain and simple Thattil Kutti Dosa.
Sreenesh S Pai
Dosas were too oily except that all good

I ordered ambidosa and kada omlate. Its not tastey and not worth for money(170/80).over priced..................................................................................
Nadir
Parking is in plenty. The service is not very professional.Ā

Dosas are nice. I've tried a couple of them. They are not vegetarian as they have egg dosas. Inside the dosa there were 5-6 eggs. It is too many eggs in a meal for one person. Samabr could be much better.
Sandhya Satheesh
very fast delivery..hatss offf

Its a medium scale eatery located at MG road and has a variety of dosas ! I myself being a chef was still amaZed to see the types of dosas they have. We had gone to this place by around 12am and the 3 of us were chefs! Really enjoyed the food ! Appreciate the innovation and creativeness. A good ambience and a great place to be with family if you are a foodie.
Arun Joy
A bit oily

The Food and itā€™s packing was good but they did not honour the contractual terms and provide the complimentary dessert as per Zomatoā€™s terms.

lovely dosa I always preferred
good
Jibin Devassy
good executive
its better to have dosa at the restaurant itself.45 minutes delivery time takes toll on the crispness off dosa so tastewise it gets affected.
Arshad Ahamed
A haven for Dosa lovers. Pai Dosa serves some of the most unusual yet best combinations and varieties of Dosas.

Egg, Cheese, Butter, Chocolate, Spices or even better, all of the before mentioned ingredients together tucked neatly and deliciously inside a crispy Dosa - Dosas donā€™t get better than this!

I have tried the Salt and Pepper, Oomoon and a few more. Tasted very good.
Dundu Dosa is the beast of all Dosas, and Iā€™m waiting to try my hands on one.

The variety Dosas does cost northward of 100 to as much as 200. But, they are very filling, often more than sufficient for one at times.

This place is open til around 2. Quite neatly kept for a Dosa centre.

Recommended.
Sachin Suresh
A good old place known to everyone who stays in cochin. An option for a late night dinner after a movie. Serve a large variety of dosa and different type of eggs. My personal favourite is the salt and pepper dosa / lasoon roast.
Rohit Bansal
This place is a famous among locals for their local style food And breakfast. The different style dosas they make are awesome. Be it masala, podi dosa, pepper dosa or egg masala dosa. It is located in the main city at MG road.
Foodiebynature
twice I went to this restaurant....they serve varieties of dosas...and other South Indian foods.....they have an open kitchen so you can see them prepare delicious dosas.....and that is the best part...
they have self service system so there is nothing to say about their service.....
but the ambience is not that good because during summer it's quite hard to sit in the restaurant and eat....it is a non-ac restaurant....
on my first visit I tried egg cheese dosa and on my second visit I tried duck egg onion masala dosa...special omlette....
but I liked the omlette more than the dosas....
duck onion masala dosa was good and I liked the fusion of it....
overall it is a nice place...
Sidharth C.R
Just a normal dosa outlet with an overpriced and lately overrated price tag. The sambhav dosa seems okay as my friends insisted I have it but the complimenting chutney and sambar definitely do not make the cut. Dosa as it is tastes okay but the price is way ahead of quality delivered. I would definitely not want to go back again.. Sorry
LawyerInBaking
Favorite dosa place since idk when.
Eventhough im an ardent non vegetarian i tend to crave for dosas and this is where i go.
PROMPT service.
Clean and Hygienic.
I'd kill for their cheese and egg dosa
Cyril Chalukkayil
Tried Bharatan SI dosa yesterday, it was yum and tummy full, salt and pepper too was good. The place is not with great ambience, as the name indicates it's a fast food corner with enough space. Good place if you're out to try some variety dosa.
Nizam Salim
Been here countless times. Just love the dosas here whatever it be. They have a unique taste. Cant stop coming here even though the cleanliness part is a bit questionable.
Sana Fathima
They have some heavy variety of Dosas! And delivery was quick too! Would love to go there again! šŸ’œ
Had special five in one dosa with Cheese(addon), duck egg pepper dosa and Podi masala Dosa. All were good enough.
Linsho Thottappilli
Wow wow wow, delicious. Extravaganza of dosas. It will takr more than a month to taste all types. I have been visiting since 1998. Mostly after 11pm. You will not regret.
Joe Francis
If there is negative rating is there I will that to this restaurant sorry petti shop. First thing I noticed when I went to the shop is that a huge amount of vegetables placed in the passage. Table's are not very clean & the bathroom is worst. The Masala Dosa I ordered costs 70/- contains chutney powder, 2days before potato curry, Sambar with plenty of gravy.better go to any other veg restaurant in Cochin
Anoop Somnath
This was a small night tuck shop turned fast food joint. We used to have dosa from here from the late 80ā€™s. I love their variety. But nowadays I donā€™t enjoy going here that much as the quality have dropped.
Anuj
The best dosa that I have ever had....excellent food and so easy on the pocket ....was recommended by a close friend..I tried the kanchipuram dosa..amazing ...full marks
Abhijith
Cheese Duck was pure love. Worth the price. No place in Kochi makes Dosas amazing as these guys. It is a treat for the eyes to watch them make all these different varieties.
Yogananth RK
Namma Dosa Kada types. Varieties of dosa with amazing flavours. Ordered Kada Egg Onion Tomato Dosa. Just one dosa made me feel that I'm done! It is Heavy and it's Juicy. Visit not less than 36 times to taste all varieties of dosa they offer.
Ravindhar Sudhir Pai
This is the heaven for Dosa lovers... all kinds of dosas... and tasty ones... coul have given 5 stars if the place was good... I recommend only for take away... location is unhygenic... ambience is pathetic... and so on and so on....
Barca FC
Ridiculous place. Just hype around the brand. Absolutely Tasteless dosa, chutney and sambar if you are a true fan of South indian food. Prices are celestial for the crap food they serve. Classic example of people going after brands even though it is hopeless and unworthy of the money
Gunja Banik
Heaven for Dosa lovers. ..had been there a couple of times. ..and I must say they never disappoint you. ..very friendly staff. ..must try if you are Kochi.
Merlin Sojan
Amazing dosas for amazing prices. They deliver exactly what they offer. All dosas are extremely fulling and there's a lot to choose from.. Almost like making your own custom dosa. I enjoyed my experience with pai dosa and I definitely will be visiting there again.
Sidhartha Gautam
Highly unhygienic place to sit and eat. Pathetic hygiene of people serving. Below average dosa's. We were served cold sambhar and really tasteless chutney with pickle.

Strictly avoid their 5 in one and 4 in one. Stick to normal Dosa if at all you are too keen to tick in the box by visiting this place. Best part is attitude of staff and person sitting at the main counter decorated with pictures of dignitaries visiting this place, they are absolutely clueless that they have lost the plot as well as taste of their food (which is key). While serving and placing your order, I felt as if they are doing us some big favour by serving us.

Thank God our stomachs are strong and are able to accept such unhygienic food, someone with low immunity will definitely get bad stomach.

It took us 15mins in total from the moment we entered to exit. This includes ordering food and having 2 bites of the most horrible food we ever tasted.

Don't waste your time and energy.
Kalesh Kumar
This is one of the old original fast food outlets in Ernakulam which serves quality food at affordable prices. Whenever I get a chance, I visit this place and try different varieties of Dosas. This outlet has been there since a long time and it has been a favourite of many generations. Their combinations are excellent and really innovative. They have now increased the items in their menu, which is good. The Dosas are priced reasonably. Highly recommended.
Aru Jose
Big fan of masala dosha
Belive me I went there with g8 plans like to have this and that likewise
Till I saw the menu
Ter
That movement I saw the menu...my mind just bcom blank...no idea what I ordered
But the one I had was pretty neat
Manu Mathew
What's unfortunate is that I've only tried this place after a night of drinking and these guys are open late.Ā

This place is a solace for someone at that point and the food comes quick and hot... Really good.
Foodiemoon
Very unhygienic setting...veggies cut n placed in the open ..overall I would not go back..I mean I had a masala dosa n the plate looked uggghh... could not finish eating..wish Kerala restaurants kept a lil standard of hygiene along with taste..yeah n I had an upset tummy the whole night
Eat Well Live Well
The hotel serves veg and non veg items. The biggest low point of the restraurant is that they cook beef chicken and all sorts of non veg existed on earth on the same tawa they cook veg items on. On inquiry it was told that in morning hours they use one tawa for both veg and non veg and in evening during rush hours they use separate tawa. very dissappointing.
Mohammed Naseef
It is a vegeterian hotel. There are variety of dosas available.price is bit high.It is a place you can go out with family or friends for a snack for a change
Bukkad Pappu
The variety is excellent and the taste is good too only if you are okay with cockroaches all around you. If you don't eat you meal fast enough the roaches will, have fun.
Ronnie George
This is one of places that every kochilite would've gone to atleast once, after a second show at padma or shenoys or Kavita! Been here like a zillion times and they have never failed to disappoint me! A 100 variety of dosas and chutney, sambhar and pickle to go with! If youve been in kochi and you've never gone to this place, it's gonna be a shame!
Sebin Xavier
This place packs with lots of variety of dosa's. We had a cashew masala dosa and egg onion tomato dosa. Cashew masala dosa tasted like the regular masala dosa except the crunch of cashew nut with no wow factor, the egg onion tomato tasted good compared to the other one. Personally I felt like the dosa's were bit too pricey.
Watching the guy making dosa's was quite a feast for the eyes
Sanjay Rakesh Kalliat
Every time I visit Kochi, I my best to cram in a visit to this place. My staple has always been the fantastic Four-In-One and now they have a new version - the Cheese Four-In-One. So good. So filling and will leave you slumped in your chair with satisfaction. The orange juice is good too.
Love watching these guys make the dosas.

We decided to make a visit to Pai Dosa MG Road this weekend. I have heard a lot about this place. The varieties of dosa it has accommodated in the menu is commendable. You name it and itā€™s on menu. I have never come across duck masala dosa before on the menu. Quite strange that chicken dosa isnā€™t on the menu when there are such a varieties of Dosas.

Coming to what we had was onion tomatoes uttapam, cashew masala dosa, special omelette and Sweet lime juice.
Uttapam was heavy with good quantity of onions and tomatoes. Special omelette had onions, tomatoes, capsicum and grated beat root and carrot. It was filling and tasty. Cashew masala dosa was not satisfactory. It was masala dosa with plain cashew sprinkled on the masala. I will say there is a renaming required, ā€œMasala dosa + Cashewā€™ā€™.

I had better uttapam and cashew masala dosa before. When we see the pricing with ambiance and output it wasnā€™t that satisfactory for me.

Uttam Minz
Last meal of the day...Was told you get 36 varieties of Dosa...Buzzing with people at night...Ordered Chutney Egg Dosa and Coffee...Humongous dosa on plate...Took time to finish...but once I did it was sheer pleasure...Tummy Full Happy Face...
PJC
Don't get me wrong, I love dosas. But not with random things all over it. I'm a ghee roast sort of chap. Its my true love and I can't abide by any other kind. So this place has a lot of abominations that they serve as dosas. Okay, obviously it's just that I don't like them. My friends love the place. Lasooni, kanchipuram, kada egg dosa and ghee dosas. That's what we had. There isn't much of an ambiance. But it was fun to watch them make the dosas even if I didn't enjoy eating them.
Sandeep
Place is well known in Cochin. Opens only after 10am. Variety of dosa is more but taste is not all that great. Ambience is poor. Only self service available . But tea served was very good.
Sooraj Varghese
One of the oldest Dosa joint of Kochi, had been here numerous times. This place is just flooded with folks especially during late night. This one situates bit away from main road, but ample parking space is available there.
Their main speciality is large varieties of Dosas ranging from simple plain to various mix of eggs and veggies. Kada egg masala, duck egg onion/tomato masalas are superb. They serve other tiffin items and meals too. Had tried different varieties of egg, podi, masala, Onion Dosas and all were delectable. One issue is sambar is not that good and you find only one type of Chutney.
There is only self service available, however, guys over food counter are pretty fast and managed to serve huge crowd in no time. To summarise a great eatery for late night crowd.
(Food - 4.5/5, service - 4/5, decor/ambience - 3/5, overall - 4/5)
Amyn Pirani
A million different varieties of dosa.. all of them yummy.... one must come here if you're visiting Kochi... We tried the 4 in 1, egg dosa, Kanchipuram dosa and salt and pepper (incl cashews) dosa.

Delighted indeed to have my very first review in Zomato for the Pai Dosa eatery.

Having heard quite a lot about this most sought-after-by-all joint in MG Road ,I got a chance to drop in here for dinner. I was accompanied by my foooooode friend hence I didnt have any apprehension about how delectable the food is going to be! Ironically after seeing those umpteen varieties of dosas and being in a dilemma, giving a humble expression I said Ill have a Rava Roast which is my favourite. Seeing my friend smirk and point towards the huge menu with 100+varieties of dosa,I had to rechoose, finally placing an order for Kanchipuram Dosa and Lasoon Egg Dosa. You can see the fast and lovely preparations of these right in front of you. It is self service and we managed to grab a seat inspite of the crowd.

Taste : Yummmm!
Hot hot dosas right from the tawa to your plate. The colourful Kancheepuram dosa had grated carrot and betroot spread on top of the dosa. The Lasoon Egg had the lasoon paste with omelette on top.Mouth watering still.
Ambience : Hardly any. It doesnt boast of any ambience. I was reminded of my college canteen with lots of people but lively though.
Service: Self Service. It didnt take much time ,maybe 5-10 mins.
Value for money: Indeed!

Pros : The Dosa itself!
Big inspiration for the all the ladies out there to experiment on their dosas. :D
Cons : Might be difficult to locate the place .No car parking facility. It is in a lane and I didnt notice any flashy signage.

Visit to Kochi is again never going to be complete without the visit to this Dosa Hub. But this time with no confusion on what to order- Their flagship Salt n Pepper Dosa!

No one need any introduction for Pai Dosa. This is indeed my favorite place in Cochin. The place is small and crowded always. Pai Dosa is open till 2am and serve 101 varieties of Dosa. Each time I try a different Dosa and I am really addicted. Must Try: Salr and Pepper, Volvo, 5in one, umman spicey. Etc

A south Indian's age is not determined by the years in his life but by the dosas in his life.. Situated at the heart of the city.. amidst the hustle and bustle..buoy can find no better place to fulfill your craving for dosa.. with a wide variety to choose from, each dosa comes with tasty chutney and sambar.. do try the masala dosa..

Food - Its just ok, not that great. I used to visit the place a decade back and it was far better. Sambhar is horrible didnā€™t taste good. Sambhar needs lot of improvement. Chutney was very watery.Ā
Spicy curry and Tea was good.

Food is Overrated and itā€™s not that great in taste. Dosa is very oily, Just check how much oil they are applying on dosa.Ā

Customer Service Horrible - Lady in the Billing was very rude when I presented my Credit card for payment. She could have asked for Cash politely. After demonetisation people are paying by card and there is cash crunch, she should understand this. Everyone is patiently waiting in queue, but the lady didnā€™t have any patience and was rude.

Queue system is horrible - The person taking the order was not accepting our order and was taking order of customer who paid after us. He made us wait long and he was very rude when I asked about this. And since I asked about this - He made me wait longer, some kind of punishment for me. The hotel management needs to learn basic of customer service and queuing system. People should be served on First Come First Basis.Ā

If you need to be successful you need to improve a lot in other areas of operation. Hope my feedback is taken positively. Ā

I visited the place on 20th November 2016 between 7-8 PM

First of all, "Hats off" to the variety of dosas they offer. There menu card includes "duck egg dosa" and above all "Kati egg dosa" (Cuckoo eggs"). Visited this place after seeing the rating on zomato and found it worth. Ambience is ok and service is quick. Chutney they serve is just awesome. A must visit place, when you are in Cochin.

Pai Brothers have a great reputation in kochi and after a great deal of recommendation I made my stop here to experience it myself.

First of all this place is a heaven for 'Dosa Lovers' they got 60+ varieties of Dosa's here and trust me it took me a couple of minutes to place my order. No other place in kochi serves so many variations in Dosa's. The items in menu are priced decently not on the high side.

I tried the Butter Egg Dosa and it was good with that salty buttery taste and the texture of egg gives makes it a perfect combination. The sambar was bit disappointing but the chutney was too good. They might not have a great ambience but who cares about it when you have mouthwatering Dosa in front of you.

The reputation of the restaurant speaks for itself when it comes to food. They are too good and my experience here was good. This is a must-go restaurant in kochi and I am pretty sure you will love it.
One stop food joint for all dosa lovers. More than 75 varieties of dosas are served here. some of the dosa variants only I have tasted but all were very good in taste. The chutney is also super. Nice that we can see live dosa making there.
Thattil Kutty dosa, egg dosa, Kada egg dosa, are few of the items I have tasted.
Definitely a great place for dosa lovers. The food is innovative at same time lip smakingly good.
If visiting for the first time, order the five in one to get an idea about the various dosa combinations. The kada egg onion masala was awesome. Tomato and onion dosa was really good too. The kanchipuram roast was okay, didnt really work with my palate.
The chocolate dosa was quite popular with the kids. It makes as a good dessert option too.
The ambience is alright but the service is good. The food is priced at reasonable rates and is not heavy on the pocket.
An ideal destination if you are craving for some really good dosas.

Yum yum yum!!!.. I absolutely loved the kada dosa and the cheese dosa...
It isn't a child friendly place if you have a toddler. But one can definitely catch up with friends and family over an umpteen variety of dosas

I visited this joint after a friend of mine told me a lot about it. When we reached there I found it a small place cramped up somewhere and I wondered why did my friend even think this place is one of the best in Kochi. But as soon as I got my food all that changed. I had the best dosa I have ever had in my life from here. I mean it was too good to be real. The only problem was the place was too small and it was really hot inside, so I had to stand outside and eat. A small inconvenience when I know that I am having the best dosa I have had in my life. Keep it up guys.

First things first, find the real Pai dosa. There are pai dosas all over. Although they credit themselves for 36 dosas, truth is those 36 have sub dosas and the total number comes close to 200. Recommemded are chocolate & cashewnut and salt & pepper any dosa (their specialty). You'll be amazed and shocked by the kind of dosas they have..quail eggs, duck, 5 in 1, 4 in 1 and all in one..these dont taste much like dosas but we ended up having them anyways. You might as well.
