This place serves fantastic food! I tried their ghee rice and chicken lollipop, and they tasted very authentic. There was a pleasant ambience and the service was great too. I'd definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Nice dining place along with companions. Kallappam, puttu, vellappam, ghee rice and many dishes during night time also.

We went for lunch, when visiting Ernakulam. Charming, spotlessly clean, with a bottle of the Kerala herbal water at each table. The owner was extremely helpful and courteous, recommending what would work for us. We had a fish thali, karimeen fry on the side, appam and chicken stew. The stew and karimeen fry were mind blowingly good. Delicately flavoured, not spicy. The thali was good- sambar, rasam, fish curry all good, veggies okay, delicious mavadu pickle and the kerala red rice we love. Just go there. It's awesome.

A wise man once said the best way to start a Sunday morning was to have breakfast from a nice restaurant (😝). Heeding this advice, we decided to have breakfast from here. Aavi is located on the first floor with no lift hence access could be a challenge for some. Has ample space and can seat about forty people. Have a choice of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. The beef stew was thick and flavourful, the meat being sufficiently tender. The egg roast could have been a tad less spicy to appeal to a larger group of diners. A wide variety of seafood is available for lunch. Parking is shared with the vegetarian restaurant downstairs.

Located at Panampilly Nagar, Kochi. The taste and quality of food is awesome. They are maintaining the standard for a long time. Must try combos are appam chicken/veg stew, puttu beef roast, chappathi chicken fry, parotta beef roast. They also serve kanji during dinner. Its also a hangout place for many celebrities. They have kept testimonial photos of celebrities. Its one of my regular food destination.

Place is crowded except in the morning normally , as people prefer veg at Gokul Ootupura . Tasty and well prepared dishes. But the sweetness on masala curries and other items felt bit awkward instead of being spicy . Space to accommodate large crowd and well mannered staff to serve you always. Parking will be sometimes a constraint but still overall a good experience

Nice place. It always feel like comfort food. It's really satisfying to have traditional food from here. You can have different cuisines from elsewhere and feel happy about it but having our authentic porotta is an emotion. It fills your heart. And aavi has the perfect recipe to fill your heart

Amazing restaurant located in the first floor of Gokul ootupura , we went to have morning non veg breakfast , we reached around 11 am so only Appam and idiyappam and porotta was there me and my wife ordered Appam and idiyappam with egg roast ( 2 eggs ) enough for 2

I had dinner from here. We ordered beef Puttu, Appam and beef stew and black Tea. The bill amount was around 400. The food tested good and pricing is very affordable. The ambience is also very nice. It’s one of the best budget friendly restaurant at Panampilly nagar area.

Tasty food. Value for money. Quality and taste of the food is much better than many hyped-up places in Ernakulam. Place will be crowded, which speaks about it's quality. (don't know why this place has a lower rating). Would definitely visit again.

I got some delicious food. Personal I will say in night time you will get a romantic atmosphere here. Ssshhh.... It's bit expensive even for traditional Kerala foods. But you have to admit with the taste. I saw many celebrities visit this place. Bit I don't care that bcz I appreciate the people behind this restaurant. Thank you guys and good luck.

The unique name "Aavi" as in steam probably attracted me to the place. The ambience was equally unique with bamboo themed and hall open on the sides (non-ac). The food was of decent taste and moderately priced. I would rate 3* for the food +1* for the ambience. Must try their b**f options, which is far better than the chicken dishes. :)

Best spot in cochin for traditional Kerala dishes. Ambience is so good. Price is definitely on the higher side.

People come to Aavi for the rooftop experience and the traditional kind of interiors. They also serve really good food but it's a little expensive. Overall it's a good experience.

Has a homely food taste

I have ordered 3 appam plus chicken curry combo. In the product description they had mentioned 5 chicken pieces. But on delivery i received only three pieces which were too small to call as piece. Really bad experience.

Their poricha kozhi was yummy. Fried chicken with curry leaves 4/5. A bit low on the salt and chilli though. I had it with aapams which tasted a bit sour (better ordered with rice) A continuous flow of swiggy n zomato showed that this place was popular. Rooftop ambience . Next visit will try their beef items.

Not much use of Zomato Gold here. Gold is applicable only for curries. Came to know that only after getting into the restaurant. Ideally those details should be shown in the app itself

Ok so daybefore my dad and his friend went to aavi and was denied to use Zomato gold in the afternoon. If this is the case why is aavi using Zomato gold. Please guys don’t visit this place. And the food is mediocre too, we have told the waiter end number of times that the chicken in the biriyani is hard always till now no change has be made. And the chicken curry is only with two small pieces which won’t make a baby also full

Barely any fish in your fish curry meal. It should be called the “barely fish curry meal”. And if you replace it with a tea spoon of beef curry you can call it a beef curry meal ! Not aavi, puka. Ordered via zomato

Loved the prawn curry with wheat Parotta. Reasonable price and good ambiance. Definitely would visit again when I’m around next time. Thumbs Up

Visited the so hyped restaurant only to try out my Gold membership with Zomato and was very disappointed to learn of its limitations to their menu. Although I couldn't enjoy my lunch personally, I'll post my kudos to the management and staff for the excellent service.. the other tables were receiving. I was a BAD customer and they didn't even know it. 😀 LoL

I was on a business trip to Kochi & I took my halt at kaloor, ernakulam.<br/>As I was very hurgry me and my colleague decided to grab some sea food and as it was Ramadan day lot of restaurant's has been closed due to eid festival. Some how we got to this hotel for dinner.<br/><br/>Ambiance was very pleasant I can rate 6/5 for this,<br/>Staff service was pretty fast 5/5 for them,<br/>Food cam be rated 5/5<br/><br/>We have ordered for puttu, parata, chapati and fish curry for which we got papads as a complementary<br/><br/>The price was also too low i.e., within budget<br/><br/>All the items with fish curry was completely outstanding I didn't expect such a taste from this place. I am also working in a restaurant, we are also accepting GOLD. When the GOLD membership customers came, What we are doing is we will explain to the customer when we give the menu card that what are all the items can have in GOLD, and also what are all the items not suit to GOLD. But my experience was in AAVI I told with the staff when he give the menu card, he told me ok. But I got the full amount bill. I am shocked and ask with the staff, he told me GOLD is not suit to the manu which u choosed.<br/><br/>So I am requesting to AAVI that please explain to the GOLD members about the menu which all are suit to GOLD<br/>

I have taken a gold membership and visited Aavi the other day to dine in there. The services extended were really good and although there were delays to take orders due to packed restaurant yet the food was yummy and they received my gold membership well by explaining to me how the membership has benefited me.

I went with my family. This is one of happening places in Kochi. In Panampally nagar you will find many good restaurants. This is must visit place and the food is tasty.. My mother is veggie so ordered paneer butter masala and I have gone for kozhi curry and wheat parotta. The ambience and the staff is all okay!!! You will get the traditional Kerala taste. Here you get different varieties of tapioca dishes (kappa). Must try and reasonable!!!!

Aavi is one of the best restaurant which gives decent biriyani. I ordered online for several time. Nice taste and we get egg with biriyani, not every restaurant in ernakulam will give that.

Ordered egg roast from here. It consisted of 2 eggs, for which I was charged 120 Rs + taxes !! What made the experience an absolute disaster was, IT TASTED RIDICULOUSLY Bland, WAS SUCH A WASTE OF MONEY !!!

The food took too long. And it was mediocre at best. A bit lazily put together, which was surprising given its great location. The ambience is nice. Would have been great if the food matched up as well. The staff is polite.

Aavi used to be an amazing place. The food tasted really good in the beginning. But now it’s just not worth the price. I mean who would pay 65 bucks for a fresh lime. Pothichor is still an attraction. It used to be a 9/10. Now it’s just a 6.5. They are trying by adding combos and all that. I like them. Keep trying team :)

Ordered Elai pothi chooru twice .. taste and quality is awesome.. it became my all time favourite😊neatly packed.. tasted fish curry meals also in hotel. Fish curry is so good..

Was so hungry and ordered malabar erachi choru. I have eaten erachi choru from mattanchery .When i opened malabar erachi choru it was looking soo good...and taste was also superb...different from that i have eaten. one can eat 2 at a time

Went to Aavi after few months.Ordered Appam,Beef curry, Chappathies and Paneer Masala.Food taste was bland.Found too many waiters and all looking confused.Had to wait for long to get our black tea.Overall a visit that ensured we will not go here again..Aavi going in steams...

It was a take away order. Chemeen fry (5/5) + fish curry with coconut milk (3/5) + wheat puttu (5/5) + wheat porotta (4/5) + chappati (4/5).<br/>Very neatly packed. Try swiggy for delivery (15% disc). Value for money.

It's my third visit in aavi, i feel that ,there is a different taste in aavi, but food was very oily and over priced menu. And I like the service timing...

We were looking for a place that served meals and my wife was insisting we go to this place but I was reluctant because of the poor zomato review. But I was pleasantly surprised. Food, ambience, service were all excellent. We got the fish curry meals with Chemmeen fry which was amazing. Be sure to check this place out if you've got a hankering for meals.

For an outsider, its a weird menu, full of dishes in local names my opinion. Secondly, many of the items aren't available. Talking about the food, the chickpea curry was good (mom liked it), the big chicken fry platter (locally named) wasn't bad either. The chilly chicken was very much thickened with corn flour, so i didn't like it. we happen to visit the place in the noon. however we ended up with meals. but it was a bit disappointing. they didnt have much variety of dishes in their list and had fish curry included which didnt make a change. but the rasam that they served along with it was just wow! no words to describe the feeling. but the ambience was really cool.

The bearer or the manager was all smiles seeing it. Open air in Kochi and that too in Panampilly Nagar where Kochi’s national bird mosquitoes do not give you a chance to sit peacefully. <br/><br/>I appreciate the concept and the idea of the management but they are far behind in getting the basics right for anyone who loves food to call this as a good restaurant.

We wondered whether the name signifies the condition in which we have to eat as it was hotter than sitting in a closed car with no AC!! (aavi-meaning steam)😑😑😑<br/><br/>Had their special malabari irachi choru which was listed as a special in their specials board.<br/><br/>It came well packed within layers of paper, a plastic paper and a banana leaf.<br/><br/>But that was it!!<br/><br/>It was just beef curry mixed with "plain" rice with a few hard pieces of beef in it...<br/>It was tasteless and over spiced with pepper.<br/><br/>In colloquial words, the irachichoru was 'UNSAHIKABLE'!!!<br/><br/>They gave a glass of rasam, pappad and onion slices with the irachichoru and the rasam was good...<br/><br/>Even though we did not want to waste food, we had no choice but to leave most of it as it was too hard to finish!!!<br/><br/>The rating is only for the packing and the rasam!!!<br/><br/>Dont know about the other dishes but the special malabari irachichoru is not one to try..!!<br/>Want to try some other dishes, but dont know if I will allow myself to go back there!!!<br/>

Worst experience ever today from Aavi. Went to aavi today at 9.30 am planning to have breakfast. A menu board was on display on the ground floor near the staircase entry. Took my seat and waited for someone to attend me. There were 2 other families also seated there. No staff was present in the counter or dining area. After waiting for 10 mins i went inside the kitchen area to find a staff there who informs me that the restaurant is not open. Why cant these guys display the working hours or that the reataurant is not open on the ground floor or atleast inside the restaurant? Irresponsible attitude lead to wastage of 20 mins when i was hurrying for some work.

A nice place to have authentic Kerala dishes.They got that naadan ambience with naadan dishes.There are some dishes that we won’t find ANYWHERE ELSE but still I find they could add some more.EGG ULLI ROAST MUST TRY.. usually their appams are good but yesterday I got it cold and dry and then the welcome drink was supposed to be rasam but tasted like water(diluted to an another level) then comes then naranga and Pacha manga..well then naranga is another normal drink with lemon and honey.. But PACHA MANGA has got this tricky flavour sooo tricky that It won’t be everyone’s cup of tea... so if you are not a person who wants for these tricky tangy flavour DO NOT GO FOR THIS. <br/><br/><br/>Service was satisfactory...<br/>AND ERACHI POTHICHORU MUST TRY..

One of the best places in town for finger licking good Kerala cuisine.. Their Appams and Porottas are the best and among the curries my favourites are the Kozhi Curry, Meen Curry and Kadala Curry. The full meal of Kanji and Curry for dinner is also a hot seller here. The service is prompt and the staff are very courteous. Will definitely go back there again. It's one of my favorites and also my parents' favourite as well.

Went there to try their signature pothi choru2.. but unfortunately we were bit late so we tried their meals and fish fry all come out good. In addition we ordered pacha maannga juice which was awesome.

We went here for dinner, as iam a great fan of kappa and beef , ordered the same and it turned to a great disspointment. Kappa was overdosed with garlic and beef curry was very poor . Never had such a tasteless kappa in my life. Tried appam that was good.

Tucked away above Gokul Ootupura, Aavi is a nice place to have some Kerala fare. Their meals and kanji are pretty good. Also fried fish is fresh and nice. The only issue is that it can get a bit warm but the view is pretty nice. Also wish the staff is more eager and friendlier. But otherwise a really good option to have your Kerala food in a slightly contemporary setting.

Visited this place during lunch time and ended up ordering veg meals ... all wood open restaurant just on top of gokul ootupoora. Food was ok and the staff looked not so interested. Not a great place to enjoy food during summer!
