Review Punjab Grill Kochi - Ernakulam

Chef Jonny
There’s so much to offer in Lulu’s mall but we decided to dine at Punjab. The food is really good and the menu has quite a bit to offer. The only problem I have and not with the restaurant but the mall in general is that they don’t offer any alcohol beverages. The restaurant itself is nice inside and the service is not too bad.

Great Ambience, spacious and it’s conveniently located in the Lulu Mall.. The service is great, the staffs are very courteous and make sure your are an important customer to them.. The food is superb and the portions are good quite big. Have a look and order.. they also inform you if you are ordering qty more than the requirement as well. You can just relax and enjoy the food.. I denied the desert but then finally made a choice to try it out and was dam good we kept ordering more… something you will not get in kochi. Do not hesitate, just get them. Cheers to team Punjab Grill.

This is a hotel inside Lulu Mall, we can come and eat here for a variety experience. Various types of food are available here. Paneer is a food to mention here, it is a food of good quality with very good quantity. But a bit expensive but value for money

One of the best Punjabi restaurants in Kerala (/Little bit of history lesson/) Established in 2001 by three veterans of Food & Beverage industry, from there Punjab Grill set up multiple branches in prominent cities of the world. The restaurant obtain finest food ingredients all over the world so you can experience the best of the best. Each dish has is unique flavour and taste. Will recommend Punjab Grill, for very special occasion with your loved one. Ambience & service This branch is located at the Lulu Mall on the 2th floor. The dining area is suitable for intimate dinner/ lunch or large party. Your name it, there will do it. Attributes - dinning, bespoke catering , takeaway and delivery. Parking - "of course it's Lulu Mall" unlimited paid parking and best wheelchair friendly location in the city Personal opinion”” However, it's a little pricey and doesn't really justify the cost. Not bad place to try out once though!” fine dining so kind of expected

Bit costly, but the food is really good. Good ambience and service.

Excellent food quality, service and ambience. Perfect place to try out the North Indian food in Kochi. Must try- Butter Chicken, Non-Veg platter, Mango Lassi.
Denis Kevin Xavier
Good selection of North Indian food. Polite and pleasant staff. Quick service. The food tastes quite nice. However, it's a little pricey and doesn't really justify the cost. Not bad place to try out once though!
Jith Raj
This restaurant is well known for its ambiance and service. Restaurant is neatly maintained to offer a pleasant experience to the guests. It's regarded as one of the finest north Indian restaurants in Kochi. Food tastes well and the quantity is really good as well. But the price is damn expensive here. It's very difficult to justify the pricing even if the quantity is above expectation.

One good experience dining at the famous Punjab grill. It was not too crowded during the time of the visit attire and attitude of the people was very good. We enjoyed our food very much expecially the biriyani (mouth watering) rice was cooked and the texture is good and the meat is well marinated overall the food was delicious. I will not say there lassi is too good as a dessert you may have other choices to try either which we missed. We did enjoy our lunch and a spl thanks to the Punjab grill team...

After two weeks in kochi, I finally found a good restaurant with quality of food and service similar to Gulf countries and International standards. 1. The staff serve the food. 2. keep asking if anything required. The fast delivery of the food. 3. Cleanness of the place and their rest rooms. 4. The cleanness of the staff. Everyone knows English 5. The spicy not as the street flaming spice and if it is too spicy they will let you know in advance. 6. Prices might be high according to Kochi prices but according to Gulf countries and International restaurants the price is reasonable. Proud to have Lunch today there.

I recently visited Punjab Grill with my family. We had a fabulous experience there. The food was delicious! We ordered both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes and were amazed at the wide variety of options available. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The ambiance of the place was perfect. The service was also top-notch. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely recommend Punjab Grill for anyone looking for a great Indian meal.
zakia
Their food is insanely good. Best butter chicken i’ve ever had.

Punjab Grill is a lovely place to go when you need a break from shopping. The food is vibrant and well-seasoned, and I particularly liked the palak patta chaat! Like others have commented, the food is pricey, though the service and food quality is worth it.
Shital Jacob
Liked the place ,great ambience, nice service, good food but a little over priced...we dined in and our experience was amazing but when we did a take out it was totally the opposite...the food delivered was absolutely waste of money ...I just have a suggestion that the similar food taste to be maintained...whether you dine in or take out....Anyways I'd say do try if you enjoy North Indian cuisine

Excellent food. Food is rich of ingredients. I tried missi and multi grain roti along with palak paneer and it was awesome. With the ambience they provide, the cost is not that high. If you are looking for a premium dining experience with North Indian delicacies in Lulu mall, you can try this restaurant. Staffs here are awesome.

Punjab grill is THE BEST NORTH INDIAN RESTAURANT. Period. Lemme tell ya why. For some time now. Ive been visiting and ordering food from Punjab grill. And I'm must say it's the few places in Kochi that makes you forget everything else, the moment the food enters ur mouth. A place that calls to my olfactory and gustatory senses in its dreams. Situated on the 3rd floor of Lulu in one silent corner, u have this gem of kochi. The food. Every single teeny tiny place has North Indian food these days. So much, that it's almost exhausting to see the same menu everywhere. But unlike anywhere else Punjab Grill stands out exceptionally well. The food range is amazing...be it the starters, koftas, kebabs, naans, rotis, desserts, or the main course veg/non-veg curries and items.... It sounds the same. But the taste is soo soo different. The food tastes exorbitantly n insanely RICH. It's either makhani or in the pure Tomato rich gravy... It's lip-smacking, finger-licking good. Ive personally had the paneer lababdar, paneer makhani, chicken grill, bhatti da murg , butter n garlic naans, nd so on and it's all been insanely good. The taste hits u different in the buds. The size of pieces and quantity of items are also the best here with proportionate number of pieces too. Combine that with the exceptional taste and u have a food heaven on your table. Be sure to try out the meetha patta mocktail. Drink slowly, let the flavour sink. Thank me later. Ambience. In Lulu mall, there r only a few places that doesnt choke you with people. This is one. Peaceful, light music in the BG, well lit and well arranged tables and dining areas. Has a private space for party of 10 too. The seating and tables are also very comfortable. The tables are well set and clean. Overall it's a very peaceful Nd pleasant experience to be in there. The Service. The staff are very helpful, understanding and polite. They always treat you well and serve well. They will always have my admiration. My heartfelt compliments to the chef and staff for a wonderful job they do. The Pricing. Well, this is a topic of contention for most people i guess. Off the bat, the prices r high. Yes they r high. But let's consider this. For the the quantity of food, the quality of food, the excellent service that they provide, the comfortable space and ambience and mostly the peacefulness and satisfaction of good food, I think the prices r justified here. Overall The Best of Best place in Kochi for North Indian food. The best dining experience on this side of kochi
Sajit Narendran
A must try place. The food tastes very different and fresh in comparison to other food joints in and around the city. The aroma of the food itself was just wow! Courteous staff and awesome ambience.....

We absolutely loved Punjab Grill.<br/>It is located inside Lulu Mall. Considering their standards, I would actually say that Punjab grill is almost a fine dining restaurant. <br/>The restaurant interiors look nice.<br/>The staff is helpful and friendly.<br/>.<br/>The food was fresh and flavorful.<br/>You can see part of the kitchen through glass partition. It is visible how clean & orderly the kitchen is.<br/>.<br/>Considering how the food court is always crowded, we like going to Punjab grill to have a nice quality time with family while in Lulu. Not to name names, but other restaurants in the mall are really crowded too. <br/>Punjab Grill is slightly more expensive than other restaurants, less crowded, has great food and service is good too.<br/>My take on Punjab Grill (#eatwithirene @irene_freespirit):<br/>Food: 4/5<br/>Ambiance:4/5<br/>Service: 4/5<br/>Pricing: 4/5

Kavya Baburaj
I went to Punjab Grill today and I'm never going back ! Ordered 2 orange juice - it was so sour that the bad taste is not leaving my mouth! And they charge Rs 260 (with tax) for a glass of terrible tasting fruit beverage ! The manager Mr Arun almost shooed me off from the restaurant - he was extremely rude. With such ill-treating staff, terrible taste and expensive bill - I would easily rate this to be the worst restaurant experience in my life ! Never going back!

We visited at Lulu Mall in Punjab grill got great service and also food dessert was excellent specially thank to gopal
Shreyansh Agarwal
This place has tons and tons of varieties to offer both i. Vegetarian and Non Vegetarian sections. They have this unique flavoured Gulab jamuns which is a must try.<br/>Service is also pretty much upto the mark and the place manages to live up to its name.

Amazing food and service.thank you team punjab grill
Nishad Netaji
Too pricey ! I mean 1500 for 2 biriyani ( after tax and ridiculous service charge) . R u kidding me ?<br/>Was it tasty ? Yes it was ! But was it worth the cost ! Absolutely not ! Never again ! No matter what the explanation is , high cost cannot be justified !
Fahad Manaf
I am working in zomato.please don't order from this restaurant. You did not get food because this hotel is inside lulu mall. Zomato delivery boys did not allowed in the lulu mall<br/>Then you will lose your money
Chris
The food is good but compared to the price ur paying for it it's not worth it. I had ordered butter chicken and there were only 4 piece in it . Do go for the ambiance and also the staffs are very polite
Fazil Ahmed
Been here a couple of times, must say the food and hospitality were top notch. The place is cozy, the manager was helpful as they would suggest you the perfect combination for your appetite. All you have to do is eat. Been to lot of restaurants, but this one serves authentic north indian delicacies. Last but not least, you gotta ask for mr. Jinto. He would give you the best pairing of food n drink available. will be back for more.
Rizwana
The food was amazing. Loved the butter chicken, garlic chicken, chilly roti, butter naam and the multigrain roti. The dum biriyani us also a must try. Totally loved the rola cola and the classic mojito as well. They're beverages are as good as their food. The ambience was brilliant too.

After a long break we took ourselves for a treat. Undecided and confused we chose Lulu for Shopping and Eats. Came across the Lion 🦁 Logo, and thought to give it a try. Rest is Memory of Essence and aroma of Turban Land, right in the heart of the Kochi.<br/><br/>You enter with smile, you rest in kind of heavenly peace in such kind of ambience. It sets you up to any mood nearest to your soul right there. It extends and improvises your mind as we found what we looking for : A Loud Silence. <br/><br/>The Place is a luxury up class eatery. And its menu reflects it very well. We decided to try their opinions as we were overwhelmed by the way it all stood. <br/><br/>And there comes the starter named Batti Da Murgh, sheer bhatti di khusboo. Soft , succulent and annoyingly tasty. <br/>Their traditional and signature dish ‘ Muthe Makhni’ was a dish apart from all the bitter chicken we had till date. The pic might speak better. And Lamb chunks in Kheema, forgot the nomenclature but it was worth a try. The spice levels were reduced on request and we were surprised by the quantity they served. Loads of appreciation. <br/><br/>Post Main course, it was time for some national drink of Turban land : Lassi. A foot long pitcher like Glass, toppings of grated badam and so on.. was just ok for me. Not much to speak about it. <br/>Three more drinks from the Menu on recommendation by the Manager out of which a Pan Tasted drink which no one could understand . But the Punjab Grills were so awesome that they discarded the same from the bill. Heart of a Punjabi isn’t ..<br/><br/>So to sum up, it was perfect day out with Gastronomic Balle Balle ! Speaking for the prices , anything and everything that has stars on it will cost you the moon , so does this as well. But for the quantity they serve did amaze all of us as it’s kind of human touch rather than a set weight. And they acknowledge it as well .<br/><br/>Recommended for Dine with Cosy And Good Family time. Also for the Authenticity of the Land it named after. <br/>

Lip smacking flavours, impeccable hospitality and food presentation, and warm welcoming decor. Punjab Grill at Lulu Mall-Kochi is a great place to be for truly delicious Indian khaana. They have decent serving sizes and the team does take the time and effort to educate customers about the crafting of each dish if asked about. Highly recommend the place for people of ages. A must try here would be the Chicken and Paneer labadaar, prawn biryani and the butter naans. Do visit the place and be amazed. Cheers fellow foodies!

Mutton Goli Shorba is a Soup with Meat balls.<br/>Dhaniya Mirchi Da Kukkad is the starter dish and their signature dish<br/>Naan & Garlic Naan,<br/>Bhatti Da murgh is the Gravy (Oh Man never seen so many leg pieces in a single dish)<br/><br/>One word for all the dishes Excellent.<br/>Chicken was Soft. Liked the masala flavour all items.<br/><br/>and a reminder it is a elite restaurant not pocket friendly for all.
Rakesh
Great food and ambience. Mutton curry and biriyani was delicious - it’s conveniently located inside lulu and is a great spot for grabbing lunch. I wish this place was part of zomato gold network.

Being a north indian in mallu land I always craved for the butter chicken that I would get in Delhi and I was sure that no one could beat the taste that Delhi has until I tasted the one in Punjab Grill. It's gravy so rich and chicken so succulent it just makes your day.<br/>Also their Bhatti Da Chicken is to die for. (The reason why you don't see the pictures of the food is because it was too tempting)<br/>PS: Naru Gopal Thank you for making my evening.<br/>I'll be coming back for more.<br/>PSS: Do try their Mocktails it's very very refreshing :))<br/>

I have been to Punjab Grill Bangalore and Mumbai and with confidence went to the kochi restaurant.<br/>Their famous Butter Chicken was not Upto the mark and chicken dum biriyani was just ok. The pudhina parata and dal makhani saved my dinner.<br/>Exorbitant rates and average food. Service was good 😅
Ahana Dey
The price tag justifies every finger licking food that we ordered. The place gives a feeling of royalty as you enter. You won't feel like you have wasted your money after eating here even when your pocket cries.
Karthik Chettri
Yesterday I went there I love the food and their ambience specially MR MANASH GOGOI he suggests us very delicious items we enjoyed alot😄😄😄😄

People opt for fine dining restaurants in the hope of delicious food, pleasant ambience and polite&prompt service. The Kochi outlet of Punjab Grill fails to meet any of these expectations. It has attractive interiors and that's about it.<br/><br/>We tried garlic naan, missi roti, palak paneer and litchi ki tehri (the only saving grace).<br/><br/>The dessert Litchi ki Tehri was rich, creamy and delicious. It's consistency was somewhere between that of a kheer and phirni. The tender pieces of litchi and the dry fruits on top added more texture to the dessert.<br/><br/>The garlic naan was strictly average; palak paneer did not taste fresh at all; missi roti was a stretchy mess. There's no kind way of putting it when the food isn't worth the ridiculously high price.<br/><br/>Delivery :<br/><br/>Anjeer Phirni : 2.5/5. The consistency was way too watery for a phirni and it tasted quite bland. The slices of dry fig was the best thing about it in terms of taste.
Sherin Mathews
Unbelievably lousy tasting food.  I ordered chicken tikka grilled.  Whats the price for.  Show some kind of mercy to the art of cooking.  You are literally ripping off.  Very very very bad food taste.  Hows it that you are rated 4.4 stars ? If half the effort you put on designing your take away covers, you had put on cooking food, it would be much better.  Please address it. And please "Team Punjab Grill" dont just respond to 5 stars, respond to the 1 stars you have got.  How shallow ........
Abdulaziz
Very small portions for the prices you pay. I got the chicken and prawns and only got 4 pieces each. The prawns biryani could’ve been better if it had more prawns
Gopika Nair
Food was nice But price charged is much higher when compared with other restaurants.I don't prefer this option anymore.Still I appreciate them for their polite services.Staffs are really nice.Ambience is also good.
Jeemon Joy
No words to explain. Never thought I will get a place in cochin to experience this... Loved it.the service was excellent with a great smile. Complete satisfaction.. Thank you team

Though I have visited Punjab grill in other location this was the first time in Kochi and it’s my love for their food & service that brings me back to this restaurant. True to the name Punjab grill, they serve some awesome lip smacking cuisine and their food & hospitality is par excellence. One of the best places for dining or hosting a meal , they suggest & pamper your taste buds with culinary choices and what more one could ask for. Recommend their ChAndni chowk ki Papdi Chat , Amritsari Macchi & Amritsari Kulcha and the Chatmola electric Soda takes you back to your childhood, in short Punjab grill is a great dining affair.<br/><br/>Taste: 5/5<br/>Service:5/5<br/>Value for money:4.5/5<br/>Ambience:4.5/5

The interiors are lovely and food was yum. The potion sizes of all the dishes are bigger than most of the restaurants around. Really liked their mocktails.

Hurray , it was quite happy to see a punjabi cuisine among the monotonous food chains at LULU Kochin and the restaurant experiences were as follows :-<br/>1. Ambience and Service - 4.5 <br/>2. Food and Beverages - 4 <br/>3. Cleanliness - 4.5<br/>4. Operations speed - 3.5.<br/>we had whole lamb leg grilled ( forgot the name ) which was under cooked for an half point , chicken tikka which was very good.Rumal Roti and Butter Nan were exceptional . <br/>They guy at the reception and the one who has served ( yes the light color eyes ) were excellent. <br/>Thank you Punjab Grill<br/>
Darsana Biju
On of the best places for north Indian food. It's a bit pricey but it's worth it. They can certainly improve on their naans but the rest of the dishes are amazing and the attitude of the staffs are brilliant all of them are too nice.
Nandu Mohan
one of the best restaurant i had visited in Kochi. its actually a true mix of authentic north Indian food with excellent service. Its my 4th visit to this restaurant.
Meenu Mk
Ambience is good food is pathetic and service is very bad. Not worth....you will feel why have u earned money only to waste here....this is for Kerala location. Service people are least bothered and arrogant....<br/>

Thank you for coming to Kochi! The best north indian food in Kochi. The staff is extremely nice. Ajay Kumar really took good of us.. we always eat here!
Asna Ayisha
Can’t remember the names of the dishes. But we were asked by their staff to try this semi sweet chicken dish and it was sooo good. The highlight is the pineapple and coconut concoction. It’s got a different taste. I really liked it. I can’t guarantee for everyone.

I was busy doing what am best at (this time fighting with Uber driver) when I got a call from Salman asking me would you like to join for the tasting session at Punjab Grill? I was not sure if I should so after a ten minutes thought while continuing to fight with uber driver I called back and said yes I would love to join. And am glad and happy I did.<br/><br/>Punjab Grill is a chain of restaurants aimed at elite dining experience to its customers and of course it comes with an expensive tag. You experience a fine service and a wide variety of food to explore. I find the menu varient from other Punjabi restaurants. They have explored to the Punjabi cuisine and serves us with the finest delicacy. It's fine dining at its best. Rich ambience..beautiful food presentation....polite and courteous serving and delicious food makes your eating experience delightful. Its a sophisticated dining experience which I like to enjoy only occasionally. And looks like our city fellow men have already given a thumps up to this restaurant as it was full on a Thursday night. <br/><br/>This place should be explored with family as the portion size are bigger especially for the starters so that you can justify the price. And a special special mention to the music they play. It seems they have their own radio which is played in all their outlets all over their branches. You will catch yourself humming and nodding to those songs while you are enjoying your meal. <br/><br/>And all these experience with my fellow eke buddies made it even more precious. Their warmth humour and friendliness along with discussion on food made my experience more richer. A special thank you to EKE team. Great service, good food. Our family had a great first experience at your restaurant. Thank you Bilto and Ajay for your wonderful service. We loved it :-)
Alin George
The food is out of this world - finger smacking tasty. What I was much impressed with was the service of the staff - everything from personalised suggestions of the food to even the honesty of denying a tip on the grounds of service tax already being charged. Thank you Jinto for the service and honesty.
Nishant Garg
Thoroughly disappointed. We are from Delhi. After 4-5 days in Kerala we wanted to have authentic North Indian food. We were debating b/w Yellow Chilli & Punjab Grill for taste consistency & were swayed in favor of Punjab Grill by its Zomato Rating. But felt like cheated. The restaurants basics were all over the place. Below is our order & respective feedback:-<br/>1. Papad Sampler : Too Oily & Greasy. It had Sabo (SabutDana) Papad & if you dont how to fry Sago, just dont include it.<br/>2. Paneer Lababdar : the chef emptied the entire cream canister in the dish.<br/>3. Dal something : Basically had urad, ma chole mix dal. We clearly asked the steward for "Yellow Dal" like Tadka. But we understand. Different people have differenr definitions. But what's with the overpowering dose of Garlic.<br/>4. Mutton Biryani : Focus on taste. No blend of spices. Unevenly distributed/cut mutton pieces.<br/>5. Missi Roti : worst ever. I have never seen Missi roti stretch like rubber.<br/>6. Aloo Kulcha : totally bland. There was a potato lump on 1 side & dough lump on the other.<br/>7. Garlic Naan : average.<br/>8. Plain steamed rice : Only saving grace for the Kitchen team I think.<br/><br/>Basically - it was a horrendous experience. Would never recommend anyone to go and will think twice before going to the one in Cyber Hub again.<br/><br/>And Zomato guys, dont let your rankings get manipulated if that is the case. I sense that restaurants at Swiggy often do that leading to loss of faith in its ratings. You guys atleast preserve your repute, if possible.

Nice place to have a hangout with family and friends. Variety Punjabi dishes. Paneer curries are good. Courteous staff. Speedy supply. Must visit place for foodies
Sundeep
Extremely average, bordering on unappetising. The non-veg platter food felt like it was a few days old and the only saving grace was the tandoori fish which was just satisfactory.

Excellent food, service and ambiance. Anjeer ki Phirni is a must have desert. We were served with love by Ajay Kumar. Thanks for helping us select the right menu for the occasion.

Delicious authentic Punjabi khana. Traditional Punjabi hospitality and lovely ambience away from the bustle of the mall . Ajay Kumar, Senior Captain and his team were most gracious and efficient. The offering at the end was a complete surprise and unique to the Punjab Grill chain. Thank you for a wonderful evening.<br/>

Good place to eat in the place like Kochi. You will get decent North Indian cousines. Space for dinning is less but food is ok. Service is also good. Only thing is that it is just a bit costly if you see the quality of the food.

The Hopeless Chef
I was window shopping at Lulu Mall with my husband when I first passed by the Punjab Grill. It looked so luxe and so grand to be at a mall that we couldn't wait to try it! The restaurant has amazing interiors that whisk you from a crowded mall (me likey!) to an old palace turned hotel maybe (that's the vibe I got!).<br/><br/>We started with a non veg platter which was really good. We then had butter naan and murgh lababdar which to me was the piece de resistance....its a must try!!!! We also tried a chicken biriyani.....but it didn't come up to the taste levels of the above mentioned dishes.<br/><br/>The Punjab Grill chefs have big hearts.....so the quantity they serve is very large.....please do check with the staff when placing your order so that you don't end up over-ordering like we did!!!<br/><br/>Another point to be noted.....it's not for those who like pocket friendly dining options.<br/>

Yesterday was about millets.<br/>Let me take you through the millets tasting session at Punjab Grill.<br/>1) Ice tea : sweet and spice and everything nice.<br/>2) Amaranth mutton seekh kebab<br/>3) Kangni di khichdi : the one pot comfort food made from foxtail millet<br/>4) Bajra murg haleem : this one is a sure shot winner<br/>5) Ragi de halwa<br/>6) Turmeric ice green tea: instant detox tea with that rush of turmeric<br/>7) Meetha patha: is a crazy sweet paan drink with loads of gulkand<br/><br/>The millet menu was a different experience for me. Millets as it is are a tricky ingredient bcoz they don't go along a lot of dishes. They give a different texture even. But here they've some how tried to work well with it. But be warned, millets aren't for everyone.
