Review Cafe Canopy - Ernakulam

The place has got some really nice dishes at a very reasonable rate. Went for an evening snack . Tried coffee, cappuccino and chicken cullet. The coffee and cappuccino is really good. The cutlet was crispy on the outside and moist inside as the potato was really well smashed. Sufficient parking is available.

Being dining here for some time. The quality and consistency of the food has been consistent over the years. My go to dishes are the Fish biriyani, Samudra Thali, Hot Chocolate and Cold coffee. Might not be the best out there, but never dissapoints. Usually crowded during peak lunch and dinner hours. Staff is helpful but there is often delay due to the influx. Parking might be tricky but you will get space since it is very organised and assistance is provided at every turn (never had to return due to lack of parking).

Great food, great ambiance, and greater service. Kudos to manager Jins and Sandeep, they know how to take care of the customer. I was a chance customer there one day and I was hooked, now i am a regular customer

Lovely resturant with pleasant ambience. But not great at rush hours. We may need to wait for some time to get attention and give order. Lunch time often gets busy. Fish curry meals are decent and bit dearer for an average working class. Fish, Chicken Briyani are lovely and they got some nice option for pastries too. Some times many home flies in their pastry shop is a bit unexpected scene for a customer who want to have a treat from a prominent hotel chain.

Nice restaurant with limited set of menu. It is always good to dine in a restaurant where the menu is limited. They can concentrate on the available dishes. We had appam, kappa and squid roast. Squid was exceptionally good and fish curry was also good.

One of the best places to dine at M.G. Road, Kochi. Ambience - 10 Food - 8 The only problem is waiting time. If you're in a hurry, or have elephants dancing in your stomach, then this place is not for you. They take a long time to deliver the food. Apart from that loved it.

If you're staying in kochi and looking for a 24hrs cafe. Then go to cafe canopy. They have variety of snacks and desserts. Briyani is available in particular time, fries, burger or fried rice is available all the time. Tastes good, friendly staffs too.

This restauant is located in Abad  plaza. The ambience and service were  top- notch. We ordered grape fresh juice, seafood chowder soup, vegetable mappas, fish pollichathu, chappathi and masala tea. All were absolutely delicious, the fish has a distinctive taste and is a must try. Prices are reasonable. Highly recommended.

A good place to have quick bite during night hours. The beef burger was good and the club sandwich we ordered need a lot of improvement. Really need to improve on the speed of service. Waiting 15-20 mins for a tea doesn’t sound good. Also all the tissue holders were empty and we had to ask for refilling our tiasue holder

Canopy has been around for a long time and never disappoints. Open till late and you always find food to be consistent. Great location on Mg road.

Upon placing a large order of 16 Biriyanis, they were sure of not being able to cater us in a short time. Instead, they placed a a small portion of ghee rice and stuffed a tiny piece of chicken tikka in it, which to a first time customer looks like Tikka Biriyani. Later they apologised that they got the order wrong. The Manager was least interested in apologising and said he would.look into it. It was really Disappointing!!

The only reason they’re still in business is the location. Terrible staff and average food.

Canopy is one of those places that I found myself visiting whenever at kochi. Food is cheap and good. Though i should say my favourite were always the short eats and desserts rather than the main course. Service is an area they could improve.

Canopy at Abad Plaza was our perfect choice (or so we thought) to have evening snacks.<br/>But OMG, what an incredible waste of my time. <br/><br/>We walked in, had a look at the different varieties of pastries, muffins and other baked items at the counter, made up our mind of what we wanted to order and seated ourselves at one of the tables. The waiter did not arrive at our table to take our order even after 5-10 minutes. We then went to the counter and placed an order for a Blackforest pastry, almond muffin and two chai. <br/><br/>Would you believe if I told you that they took 20 minutes to bring a slice of pastry to our table. And then another 10 minutes to bring our Chai. And when we quizzed the waiter to know if there were some fried delicacies like banana fritters or so and that if it would take even more time now that they had wasted 30-40 minutes of our time, he was quick to respond saying YES- it will take time. <br/><br/>No apologies for the delay. No courtesy to make up for the delay and provide a better service. Well, basically nothing!<br/><br/>The attitude at Canopy is to wait around and have food if you want to! The service is undoubtedly extremely poor. Never going back in there.<br/><br/>I also see a lot of similar reviews regarding the poor service. Wonder why the management is not looking into this! <br/><br/>VFM: 0/5

Canopy definitely made it to the top 5 places in Kochi. They serve super tasty food that is totally value for money. Reasonable and affordable, you'll want to come back for more. The beef burger was exceptionally good and the Keralite cuisine was super tasty. It's open 24/7 which is an added bonus. Service was slow but the food made up for it.

Great for late night food , open 24 hours , amazing dosa’s , egg curry and parathas, staff can be little well mannered but nothing to spoil your meal. Overall 👍🏻

Excellent food at excellent prices.<br/>So we orderd the minced beef sandwich, Texan burger(which is the best if your in Kochi you have to try it), malabari chicken chilly, beef ularthiyathu, wheat parotha, and the cakes for dessert with some ice cream.<br/>The food was so good that I went there for lunch and dinner.<br/><br/>If I'm in kochi on my next trip I'm.def gonna be there again.

I really love this place ...my personal favourite is their chicken dosa it's yumm....I love their lava cake too...some real good memories of this place with friends. ..don't miss this place if you are around.

Located in heart of MG road Cochin... Good place to have quick bite and chit chat.... The cafe was full of old people. Love the view how they were conversing with each other... Will definitely visit again if been to Kochi and would love to spend more time.<br/><br/>Food wise ok not so oh wow taste. But ambience is awesome.

Usually never post unpolite reviews,but this place and the people were least interested in serving their customers,or was it just me? My first and last experience .I had to wait for a pick-up and so walked into this place.While I entered asked if its was self service ,the lady at the counter said no Ma'am you may sit.Sat waiting for 10-12minutes for someone to walk up with the menu .Noone came and so the person cleaning the floor was kind enough to call the waiter.Noone came even after that for about 5mins.Ordered a regular fresh lime soda because I found nothing interesting in their menu and the waiter who served the drink was moody and just left it on my table with no eye contact.When asked for the menu they came with a bill of fresh lime soda plus a noodle that I never ordered.The restaurant was not even crowded.The waiter then sent his colleague with the same bill that had the Noodle billed and I told him but I never ate that why should I pay.He then said he reduced it you can just pay for the lime soda showing the same bill.I paid and left after a few mins.

"Sry the coffee machine is not working", this is not the kind of greeting u expect frm a 24 hr coffee shop, they made me a coffee which i could make at home even with my eyes closed, the french toast was gud so TOAST...

the service they offer now is very poor. they took 45 min to bring a ghee dosa. staff is also not at all responsive. food quality has also dropped drastically.<br/>

Its very nostalgic for me when i write a review about canopy. Its one of the cafes i have visited often in last eight years. So my picks are their chocolate thick shake ( one of the best in KOCHI), caramel custard, barbecue chicken sandwich, chilly chicken pie and chicken dosas. Actually its a lovely place to relax and chill. The best part is all type of crowd come there and its not that noisy or disturbing. The staffs are extremely friendly and welcoming.

Canopy, a place I used to chill out back during the college days. Still dig this place whenever am in kochi. They serve one of the best Keema dosas and chicken sandwiches. This place still remains as one of my all time favorites. For the food and the memories

The food here is good but service here is bad because the staff over there doesn't even mind to get the order from us. The desserts are also not good as many boasts.

Quite a decent place to hop in if you are hungry and passing via MG road. Service was quick, food tasted fine, ambience is just okay, pricing is also on the lesser side, and ample parking space for two wheelers.

My friend and I were regulars at café canopy . Everyday after class we'd go there to have a pastry or a donut. An affordable destination for college going students with limited pocket money. They've got a plenty of choices for pastries, but I recommend their 12-layer chocolate and Vancho pastries. Our favourites were their chocolate filled donuts for a mere ₹30. Good range of thick shakes and sandwiches too. Neat, clean atmosphere and good service.

Huge fan of hot chocolate fudge here. It's delicious. Even the varieties of thick shakes is really filling and amazing.<br/>It's really silent and ambiance is also good. But customer service was kinda bad.I am giving 2 star even after the love for there delicious hot choclate fudge due to the bad customer service.

The fish and chips were the best fish and chips I have ever had! Extremely courteous staff, amazing service, overall a great feel good experience! I would recommend this place to anyone who ever vists Kochin!<br/>Additional benefit: its light on the pocket! :)

Provides all types of food though its a cafe, ask for what you want you will find with them, they have some experineced staff to handle the show very well, had a wide range of pastries and ice creams too, its open upto 2am, a must visit outlet if you are in ernakulam.

This place is ok. The huge pastry called Twelve layered was just for the looks however their pastry was not fresh. Also ordered a cold coffee with ice cream and there was nothing special about it. <br/>Just the outlet looks good and spacious. A lot of homework to be done to keep it real and outstanding.

Canopy has been a place that my family and I have banked on for years. However, to my disappointed after hopping over here after 2 years it hasn't been able to live up to my expectations.<br/>The ambience is ok while the cleanliness is doubtful, which was a put off. And I hoped that the food would be excellent but the standard has fallen drastically.<br/>The chocolate doughnut, cold chocolate shake, chocolate milkshake, and cold coffee were good. The sandwiches were ok. But I loved the fish and chips! That saved the day and egged me on to give this place a decent, if not good rating.

Canopy was an average dining experience for me. A normal family restaurant in Abad Plaza, Near Central Square Mall, Kochi. I've been there a few times. The food is good. Normal ambience and very poor service. Just try it out.

Had food here whenever I stay there. Decent fare for the price. Good ambiance and service. 3.5/5. The variety of food in the buffet is well designed.

This used to be my favourite hangout place at one point! I love the food here though the service is a bit slow. They've tried to maintain the standard over the years. And it has not let me down since the time I was in college.<br/><br/>Personal favourites:<br/>1. Poori Bhajji with curd and pickle<br/>2. Chicken Kheema Dosa<br/><br/>I love going back here every now and then just to refresh old memories and for the food that is associated with it!

27th December 2015<br/>Personally, I miss the old Canopy, but I still love the place. <br/>One of the few places open at midnight in Cochin. Their midnight menu consisted of a decent no. of items. I had a Chicken Burger and a Cold Coffee. The burger; ay, not the best of burgers but yeah, decent enough for a midnight meal. Also, the bun was really soft but then the patty was a peice of crispy chicken which was much too thin and small. The cold coffee on the other hand, was alright-ish. They've served me better cold coffee before. <br/>Overall a decent meal, but not the best I've had at Canopy. after 9 long hours of class and with an aching tummy we visited this place! bloody hell! it wasn't disappointing :D<br/><br/>the French toast with butter and honey was A. M. A. Z. I. N. G ♡ ♡ <br/>the softy ice cream as well as LaVa cake did justice!

This restaurant's time is up. It used to be one of the best restaurants in the city, but now the quality has decreased considerably. The fish and chips are no longer any good. The drinks are still very good though. Especially the Banana smoothie which is too good. If you are hellbent on eating at this restaurant, I'd suggest that you go for the Indian cuisine which is quite nice. At the end of the day, I'd still consider going to this restaurant.

A nice place that offers ample seating, good food, good service and ample parking space. I like their pastries and sandwiches. They also offer appams and stew. The variety of food served is good and this is great place to sit down with friends.

Café Canopy serves above average food at average price. The food is alright - no wow factor as such. But I like the ambience and have come here countless times to study.

Canopy - Rich desserts and cake! This is their speciality. Their meals menu is also good. Tender soft chappathis and good fried rice. However, service is very bad. I have had waiters who look at you and pretend to not see you reaching out to them. And quantity is very less in curries and rices.

Great place for late night snacks with decent desserts and ice dream but star is annual Dosa festival which is awesome. Butter chicken dosa and spicy idli were superb

Canopy is the go to place for dosas with prawn curry. It's the outside restaurant at Abad Plaza on MG's. <br/>Good family dining place with great food at a reasonable price. The ambience is very simple but clean. Air conditioned.

Very very poor service. The waiters will drive you nuts with their don't care attitude. Anything u order will take an hour to be delivered. Food is ok.

Always comes back her for the custard pudding. strongly recommend this. Best for late light sugar cravings. Ample car parking and spacious enough to be private

Good place for an evening snack,their fish and chips is a must try dish,but standard of a coffee served need to be improved location and ambience both are excellent, visiting once in a while is not a bad idea.

The place is good for some nice pastries, ice creams and milk shakes. But definitely not recommended for anything else. Too expensive for what is served.

A good option for a light meal, at reasonable rates. I go to canopy every other week mainly for the softee ice cream that isn't sold anywhere else. It's amazing, just like the lava cake which is available there too. The place is good for Kerala style dishes, but my preference would be with the prawn dosa.

It’s a good place. I went there to pick up my friend who is writing the exam. As I was waiting I saw this place and ordered a juice. The serving and the ambiance is good. It’s a nice place to kill time with friends and family. recommend it to all.

Once the best place to have pastry..bt now not so grt..visited more than a couple of times..There has been a fall in their standards..chicken biriyani,meals, fried rice, chilli chicken, chocolate pastries,donuts, caramel custard are the things i have tasted from here...nthg grt..jus normal..if u get a chance go for town's best places...

Pretty awesome place. A good choice of items in the menu. The plus point - very reasonably priced and tasty. The breakfast starts at 7am and that's something I loved. After pulling off overnighters, this is a good place to take all that hangover down. A restaurant with a decent ambience and good food.

If you planning to go for sadhya nd abad is in your list,BEWARE. it sucks big time. May b they r gud with there biryani but not sadhya. If one thing is not gud in sadhya its acceptable but not tat the whole sadhya was bad,not worth Rs 350/-. The service was pathetic nd the food is full of soda,so I had bit ,really less. Its badd.. Gud if you wanna anything other than sadhya.<br/><br/>

The place is one of Kochi's answers to a 24-hour kinda cafe. Centrally located on MG Road, it's a good option for a quick and easy bite, especially around those hours from 3 pm to 8pm. And for those heavy hunger pangs, there's Abad's restaurants a couple of floors above (which has a good lunch buffet by the way!)<br/><br/> Coming to the food at Canopy, the beef and the chicken kheema dosas are a family favourite! Slightly overpriced for a place like Kochi but yummy nevertheless. The burgers are so-so - more of patty, lettuce and onion affairs with some fries to go with it. That the place offers some delicious desserts and gelatos is its saving grace.<br/><br/>But the place is more or less full throughout its operating hours and that should say something about its popularity!

If you are in search of a place to sit, talk and have something to eat, at middle of the city. Cafe Canopy is a good choice. It's open till 1AM and provides all basic stuffs a cafe needs. The deserts are just OK (it dry at times). Must try : Yes, they provide varieties of dosa - Dosa's filled with Chicken, Beef, Prawns etc. Those are yummy :D

This is just an average coffee shop compared to the new ones in the city. The food served here is not bad. Rates are normal cafe.  ambience is just average  Opens for a long duration. As its not a crowded place these days, it is a good option if you dont love too much of noise around.

Canopy is the coffee shop of Abad Plaza located on MG Road. This serves fast food as well as some nice desserts in addition to tea/coffee.<br/><br/>What I like about the place is simple ambiance, availability of food at odd times as well as location. I have had coffee, desserts and also lunch from this place. Coffee is fine and so are the pastries. Lunch was a major downer since the fried rice & curry I had was very ordinary. Not something you would expect from a place like Abad. For the price they charge a minimum level of quality is expected and they failed to live up to that.<br/><br/>Its basically a slightly expensive coffee shop. Try it for their snacks and coffee but otherwise its probably not the best place around!!
