The experience of riding the Gulmarg Gondola is one of its kind! The mesmerizing view of the surrounding looks unreal. We visited in mid December and it had just snowed few days back. The snow covered mountains were a treat to the eyes. You have to take union taxi till the taxi stand as they don't allow private vehicles during winter as you need snow chains. Locals try to sell you jacket and shoes mentioning you will need it in extreme snows. We were asked to pay ~4500, but you can bargain and get those at around ~1000 or even less. Once you reach the taxi stand, you will be asked to take a guide. Gondola ride (Cable car) station is at a walking distance and you can wander the place on your own without any local guide. You can book the cable car tickets online so you don't have to wait in the queue. There are 2 phases, but we just visited the 1st one where you can get to experience almost all the activities. The view on the top is breath taking! You can try out Skiing, ride a Snowmobile or just enjoy the view. Locals try to charge you exorbitant price for the activities, but you can bargain and bring the prices down by almost 80-90% Out of all the places we visited in Kashmir, this was by far the best!
Ride on the cable car is memorable. Be ready to wait in long queues a during peak season. If your having health issues, would not recommend phase 2 as the oxygen level drops and moving around feels tiring.
If you're visiting in winter you can enjoy snow in phase 1. Snow activities in phase 1 and 2 are scams charing 3k per person for some trivial skiing. Would not recommend. Also if you're wearing good down jacket, you do not need to rent one at the bottom. Locals will persuade you to rent one.

The pleasure of riding the Gulmarg Gondola was an incredible experience! The Gondola ride offers mesmerizing view, snow capped peaks of Himalayas. Surely you will be taken back by the beauty of nature.
The Gondola is well-maintained and the staff were friendly and helpful. The ride is smooth and comfortable.
Overall, I would highly recommend the Gulmarg Gondola to anyone visiting the area. It's a must-do experience and one that you won't forget anytime soon.
Tip - Reach early to avoid rush and if possible do online booking for the tickets.
It’s a must visit place for your Kashmir trip. It’s out of the world experience. It’s a true engineering marvel. Cost for phase 1 - ₹1000(2 way) and phase 2 - ₹800(2way). Visit phase 2 if you’re visiting with friends or can bear the cold. Pre-book your tickets it has limited tickets per slot. One cable car can hold 6 passengers. Visit on time as there will be a long queue.
Brilliant views of the mountains from one of the highest cable rides in the world. Beware of sledge guys overcharging , we can easily walk from parking till the Gandola entry point. There are two entrances and vehicles purposely drop you to farther entrance, and then say it’s not walkable. Weather is key and rides are dependent on conditions on that day. Tickets need to be booked in advance. With kids below 10 , second ride will be a bit tiring due to higher altitude of close to 3900m.
Heavenly experience. Must see must do attraction in Gulmarg. Book tickets in advance, it costs 1k per person for both phases. Phase 1 takes you to halfway mountain that has variety of activities like skiing, sledging etc. Even if you are not interested, you can spend time playing in snow. Phase 2 takes you to the summit of Aparhat mountain. The view from here is breath taking. Snow covered peaks all around you is a experience you cannot miss
Very good experience in a Gondola ride. Always book advance tickets. Tme slot is not a matter. They accept same day tickets. Inside you can enjoy it a lot. In the winter season only phase 1 is good enough to see snow. Enjoy with your family.
Amazing experience. Phase 2 is awesome with next level views. Due to heavy snowfall didn't get enough chance to explore phase 1 but overall too good. Views from gondola are awesome.
Tickets need to be booked online only as it operates for a limited time only. Phase 1 ticket is mandatory to book phase 2. Try to book as soon as you start planning your trip to Kashmir.
Tickets price is around ₹850/- person.
If you miss booking your ticket then you can Trek top of the hill which is more adventurous and beautiful as compared to the top of the hills.

Definitely worth the hype if u r seeing snow for the first time in ur life. Book tickets in advance online for phase 1 as snow can be seen there itself. Phase 2 is only preferable when goin during summer months to c snow.
During winter take extra precautions with kids at phase 2, as it’s very cold and children may find it difficult to breathe at times(rarely).
Mountain Maggi served outside in the snow is costlier than any Maggi found anywhere. It’s hot. That’s the only recommendation. Definitely avoid hot chocolate/ milk items as it’s just bad.
