Review Roots Cafe In The Park - Gurugram (Gurgaon)

Avinash Garg
I visited this place for lunch along with 12persons, find very good ambience, lot of open area . It is having fixed tables in open area . Presentation of items were very good. Most of the items were not very spicy. It's veg thali was excellent in terms of taste and portion of the items served, less spicy.

This place is hidden gem in gurgaon. Located at leisure valley gurgaon sector 29. During winter you can enjoy sunny day with tasty organic food here. It totally different experience to fulfill your appetite in nature ambience. We ordered sarson ka saag, makke ki roti, sabudana fingers. Both are mouth-watering taste . It most busiest during 12pm to 4pm. Couples may try to get experience it's ambience at 6pm to 9:30pm. During that time it less crowded. Here 2 type seating arrangement available one in shedded area & one under the tree. Its a best place for get-together, celebrate your birthday party.

We went to the roots cafe for the 1st time. It is by cafe lota. They serve healthier food like ragi idlis and paranthas, oats Upma etc. we ordered for masala chach which was good. We ordered for ginger tea which was overdone but later changed it and it was good. We had ragi idli platter with 10 mini idlis, gun powder, sambhar, chutneys. That was tasty. Sambhar is less quantity, a bowl which doesn’t suffice. We had ragi stuffed parantha with dahi, butter, pickles. It was nice though less stuffing. The mint chutney is too good. Alfredo pasta with 2 garlic pieces was good too. Oreo banana shake was nice too . Overall good food They don’t give extra sambhar. It’s chargeable. Once they gave on request. Then refused. Icecream is not good. Popsicles basically are not good It’s somewhat expensive considering the serving size. Like one ragi stuffed parantha costs Rs 240/- Cafe ambience is nice. You will enjoy if weather is nice but it was quite humid the time we went. Both outside seating is hot and inside it’s hot and humid. Cooler makes it more humid. But it’s a nice place for family meal. Service is a bit slow. Chandra Kumar Arya, the Cashier served us well. Was all smiling and helped too. Gave us good personalised service Toilets are not clean. Shank broken. No tissues Park is nice .. you can walk. There are swings but mostly broken

Went with my colleague for a quick bite, this place is low key kinda place. Good interesting food! You can try this place if you are close to Leisure valley park. Pc’s Diary💕

An open garden café with decent rustic ambience for a good meal. Brunches are preferred. Located in a not so good area.
PAROOL BERIWAL
Simple a treat for nature lover. Menu could have more herbs, price also could be bit lower but it is targeting upper end market than is perfect... simple a great gateaway... And of course the best way of taking orders ever, with a pencil and a mini note pad for the customer so that there is simply no confusion at all...

We were casually exploring cafes on the internet and picked "Roots cafe" due to its ambience & scenic views. It is located inside a beautiful park, with colorful bougainvillea all around. As we visited there on a Sunday morning, there was a huge waiting line. We waited for close to 30 mins. However, the chill environment elevated the entire experience. We ordered - a coffee, hot chocolate & a cheese Sandwich. Honestly, the food was average for the price we paid. I'd recommend this place if you wish to just relax, and have a nice conversation with your friends or partner away from the hum-drum.

Loved the food. Nice outside area. We tried their omelettes, sandwiches, burger, tea and cold coffee. Everything was great. Loved the outside seating area but giving one less star... Should be 2 less but okay... Because of so many flies disturbing whole you're eating, there are so many of them that it's unbearable... They should do something about that. Flies are really taking the standard down.

Nice cosy place, friendly staff, limited food options but preparation of the dishes is wonderful. Overall a satisfying experience. They only serve Veg food although eggs are on the menu.

I recently discovered Roots cafe and I am so glad to see such a humble place in Gurgaon. I was really impressed with their service, the quality of the food, the richness of flavours and the friendly staff. We tried the recommended dishes, wanted to try other stuff also. Might go again to have a nice down time with friends and family.

A cafe situated in the park surrounded by greenery. A very peaceful place to have ethnic meals in middle of nature. A great place for vegetarians!

A place that is in the midst of greenery, food that is finger licking good. Our first time was 2 years ago, it was drizzling, absolutely great weather; God was part of our experience. Since then we have been there for breakfast and lunch many times and they have proved that consistency in food and service is top notch. You can do chai pe charcha for many hours and would not feel bored. Thanks guys for everything you do for your patrons.

As the name suggests, the cafe will actually take you to the roots of nature. The vibe of the place is very relaxing. It is a very good place for breakfast. Every dish of theirs seems tasty. We had sabudana fingers which were lip-smacking. Even the other two dishes, beetroot cutlet and Railway omelette sandwich were very good. You can go in groups too for a casual brunch.

after reading all the reviews wasn't sure of this place but damn I loved it man (one reason could be rain and the early morning serenity) also I don't know who are those who didn't like their Poha infact it was one of the best pohas I've had after so long! We tried Masala chai (3/5), Vermicelli Upma (4/5), Poha (4/5), fresh watermelon juice and hot coffee (5/5). Overall, amazing experience!❤️ Plus, the quantity is so fulfilling. One bowl is enough for 2 people.

I visited Roots at Leisure Valley park today and simply loved the experience! The winter sun made it all the more enjoyable. The place had a steady stream of visitors all through the close to 4 hours I spent there. The staff was quiet, courteous and silently efficient. The food was decent and most importantly fresh! If you like quiet places Roots is your go to place. Check it out the next time you plan to eat out. It will be worth it!
Megha Zatakia
Food was good Ambience is Good View is good Food items we had sandwich , chai and Wai bhel quality was good, quantity not good because it's overpriced.
Risha Kumar
I have been there for some quick evening snacking but there was lot of waiting. Even the options were very less so we ordered bun tikki, chocolate brownie and kokum sharbat. All were okay. Though I love greenery but cafe should keep in mind the ambience and cleanliness of it.

Wonderful n beautiful place to enjoy your morning tea ♥️

Went at this place two years back to celebrate birthday of my friend. This amazing place serves the best poha and masala chai in the whole town. Scrumptious food and Lively green ambience are the main pros of this place. Highly recommended eating joint!

Absolutely in love with the ambience of this place 😍

Nestled among the greenery of the Leisure Valley park, this is one place to visit to know the vibe it refers.

Beetroot scotch eggs, Poha, Masala Chai and Eggs Kejriwal are delicious and worth trying.
Aishwarya
My favourite restaurant of all time. The location is in middle of a scenic and quiet park. The food in terms of taste and presentation is fabulous. And the menu is so unique. I have visited this place atleast 50 times and love to go there.

This place as the name suggests is a Cafe in the Park. I went to Roots when I was in Gurgaon last December. The hot coffee in the cold winter morning of Delhi just made it worth more to wake up and go for breakfast :p
Not to deny, I would regret to have missed breakfast here.
-
We ordered-
FOOD- Vegetable Sandwhich, Paneer Paratha, Podi Podi Italy

BEVERAGES- Hot Coffee, Cola Drink
-
Ratings for Roots: (out of 10)
Presentation- 6.5
Quantity- 8.5
Staff curtsey- 7
Ambiance- 9
Pocket Pinch- 8
The ambiance is to die for, specially in winters. The dinning arrangements have been made both indoors and outdoors.
We went on a weekend and exactly at the right time after which the queue just started🙈 Reach in time to avoid the wait :p
Dia
A little high on the price (portion viz a viz taste) but good place to simply unwind
Disha Bijlani
Throwback to my favorite place for breakfast, underneath the greenery.
A perfect weekend breakfast spot for everyone especially in Winters 😍

Ordered Masala Omelette, Poha and Nutella Hot Chocolate ❤️

Overall a good experience w.r.t service, ambience and food ♨️💯

This place is ideal for a hangout. With their open seating as well indoor seating options, you get a wonderful ambience and view to enjoy a quick bite or a meal or a chai/coffee. My friend recommended this place to me and I have been there twice ever since. The vibe is just so surreal. I highly recomment giving this place a shot.
Food recommendation: All the dishes you see in the picture below. Yummy!!

Today in the evening for the first time ever, I went to a cafe in my PJ...literally!!!
Last minute venue change from home to this and trust me it was worth it. A pretty place for gapshaps and chill!!
We ordered masala chai (must try), pudina nimbu pani (good), besan chilla (must try), sabudana fingers (must try), Indian thali (didn’t tried it because I was full but heard it was good), moong dal khichidi platter (must try), fudgy chocolate brownie (good) and steamed chocolate espresso cake (must try, might sound boring because of the steamed in the name but give it a try- worth it).

I just love going for breakfast, specially it’s a delightful to eat underneath such green lush.
Cafe lota has already set a standard, when it comes to such excellent breakfast and ambiance. But this place comes nowhere near to Lota, when it comes to food quality. It’s good in terms of ambiance.

Pros.
Ambiance. Open and in middle of a park
Service. Quick service
Beverages. Cool and fresh

Cons.
Food. Below average, I am an emergency cook in my house and I can cook better food.
Value for money. Price for 5 was 2800, I don’t think it justifies the price for what food is served.

Note. Try reaching early or might have to wait.
Overall, only one time visit.
Megha
The ambience is really good. After waiting for very long time I visited this place last month. They have open sitting which is just like a garden, generally crowded during day time. The food menu is good. I tried their kadhi chawal. It was simple and just like home cooked. Service is good too. The only thing is it’s very costly for the quantity they serve. Overall an average place.

(3.5)
We went to roots after a gruelling badminton session for brunch. As expected, we had to wait for a table as the popular café was packed with diners. There were 4 of us and we ordered Willingdon's club Kejriwal toast, a CTC sandwich, One portion of Podi idli, a Wai Wai bhel and a Rajma chawal platter. I liked the CTC sandwich the best, with a nice interplay of the abbreviated ingredients in its name - Cheese, Tomatoes and Chutney. The Wai Wai bhel was good too. The Rajma chawal and Podi idli were average. The Kejriwal toast was filling but not fulfilling, and that's all I can say about it.
For drinks we ordered their famous Cold coffee, which was nice, along with a Piña colada lassi, which was very nice, a Kokum Masala Soda and a Pudina nimbu paani which were nice in a standard manner. The ambience was perfect for a February brunch. I could have compared the ambience to a hunting shack too, but the place does not serve meat, so that image will be perforated anyway. All in all it's a better hangout place than a restaurant, which we also felt when we took a walk around the park after the meal. One could give it a shot for a leisurely winter brunch. ROOTS CAFE IN THE PARK

OVERALL RATING SUMMARY
Ambience: 5/5
Food: 5/5
Service: 3.5/5
Staff likeability: 4/5
Waiting time: 1/5
Overall: 4/5

No. Of Visit: 2

DEALS TAKEN: No deals are applicable these days it seems.

AMBIENCE: Indoor and outdoor. Good ambience at both the places. Situated in a park, this is a welcome break for all of us.

Although we sat inside, however, outside experience is also good depending on weather conditions.

Food:
Food tastes good.
Ordered RAGI PARANTHA, SANDWICH. Both were good in taste with Ragi Parantha being really yummy and delicious.

Had shake and juice, which were also decent in taste.

WAITING TIME On a Weekend or holiday time, waiting time goes from 20 min to 45min as well.
My last experience want good as they were not calling people who had given their names. We ensured that we are around this time to not let the same thing happened.

Ordered LIME SODA in the meantime, and was surprised to know that they levied packing charges of over 10-12%. Very high specially when customers is only waiting in queue.

Also, service charge of 10% towards overall bill seems very high, when their PRICES are NOT LOW.

FOR USERS: RECOMMENDED 1 TIME VISIT
FOR CAFE GUYS: NEED MORE HOSPITABLE TOWARDS CUSTOMERS WITH BETTER SERVICE
Apratim Dutta
Pathetic food zero quantity no taste no value for money . Never visit this shit place
Amritanshu Sharma
One of the rare places that serve pure organic food

We tried their chatpata bhel, pasta and sandwiches.

Food is ok in taste, but service is very slow.

They need some improvement but overall a nice place ambience wise
Foodfandom
I ordered
Egg curry rice
Egg bhuri
Omlettle
Egg biryani
Thali

All dishes were good and not too spicy!! Outdoor seating is nice !! Food wasn’t warm that was disappointing
PANKIL SHETH
Highly overpriced with an average food. 10% service charge is way too much for such places. Filter coffee is the only recommendation for this place, everything else was an average
Food Betal
What amazing hide out in the hochpoch of busy Gurugram city, only one thing can be better that mosquito bite, need to take care of this rest all good
Swati Daga
5 stars for the ambience. Great place to chill at during Delhi winters. There is always a queue but its worth it since there are very few place with a chill open seating in a garden. But food is really mediocre and its a shame since the setting of the cafe is so nice. For the kind of food they offer, the cafe is overpriced as well.
Shukrant Dua
The orange juice was really fresh and Indian thali had great raita and rajma. It's a nice place to go out on sunday morning and soak some sunlight in the park, however if prior reservation facility could be available, that'd the awesome. We literally had to wait for an hour to get a table.
Pankhuri
A different place for casual eating - Loved the ambience. It is 8AM to 8PM place. Good, value for money limited menu. Tea lovers must try masala tea. Chat lovers must try palak patta chat. Good service.
Ankit Garg
Would not recommend anyone to come here. It is such a mood spoiler that you will regret the moment you enter this road side so called cafe. They don’t have much in menu and whatever available is tasteless. Roadside shop may have more and better options than this place.
Palka Khurana
I normally go with my friends to roots cafe for breakfast after long run. Their poha, railway omlette is good. Though i find it bit expensive but good place to catchup and chit-chat
Crinkle Crankle Foodie
Cafe in park it was really a new experience for me,it was totally nicely conceptualized . There was waiting for table but you won't be bored take a walk to park, you will get a call from restaurant once table is vacant.
All items that we had was really Worthy every penny.
Must try wai wai bhel😋
Heema Patel
extremely mediocre cheese grilled sandwich which is of 230 bucks and totally not worth a rupee, even Roadside hawkers sell it better with good amount of cheese!
Just because its in a good park, its getting customers otherwise theres nothing delightful about this place. Happily give it a pass!
Ankit Bhatia
There was a big hype in our group to visit this place for breakfast as it is located within a garden! The sole USP is that u can have your breakfast soaking under the sun and with fresh air around! Or if you are a morning person then you can do your exercise and cool off in the cafe.
Back to the cafe, me and my better half reached the restaurant and waited for 14minutes to get a table allocated to us( managble😑). The staff is courteous and would make u feel comfortable and u can have your breakfast in peace.
Food 3/5
Ambience 4.5/5
Drinks 2/5
The reason i have rated food and drink so low is that i have visited this place before and the f&b has deteriorated. The tea was absolutely hopeless and had to changed even tough we got the same taste even after the change. The rest of the snacks of nothings special to.
To me this place didnot live up to its hype!
Gargi
I was here for a lunch break with my colleagues. They had been here before. Half of them were already divided on whether we should visit Roots or not as they said the food isn't upto the mark. Plus they serve only lacto-ovo-vegetarian food.
We were in a group of 12 and everyone ordered different things. I tasted everything:
~ Sarso ka saag and makke di roti (the saag did not taste like regular sarso ka saag)
~ cheese and mushroom paratha (the best dish of the lot)
~ eggs kejriwal (the second best dish of the lot)
~ podi idli (not upto the mark)
~ railway masala omlette sandwich (third best dish of the lot)
~ paneer paratha (very basic)
~ filtered coffee and masala chai (these were very good)
The ambience and hot beverages would be the only things that I'd re-visit this cafe for.
Sonali Chauhan
A great breakfast and lunch space situated right between the woods. The food and the interiors were good.
Swati Singh
Roots is a perfect place for a laid out Sunday Breakfast/Brunch. I often go there in winters to sit out in the sun..take a walk through the park and enjoy home-cooked style food. Love how they are adding variation to their menu through seasonal favourites like makki ki roti and sarson ka saag or gajar ka halwa. My favourite is however the poha and the nescafe coffee which is very much like a hand beaten coffee.
Mudit
Roots Cafe at Leisure Valley is worth a visit. The large public park gives a very nice feel to the place. The menu though not very extensive is compensated by the specials. The service is polite and efficient. The food came pretty quickly.

Over all a very good experience.
Akanksha Aayush
Great ambience with great food!!!
An best place to spend time with you loved one!!
Wai Wai bhel is amazing!!
I loved their Nutella hot chocolate ❤️
Divya K Dewan
Visited the cafe for the first time with friends and it was the best experience we had among any other cafe. Recommended food items - oats uthapam, rice rajma, kadi rice, indian thali, moon dal chila, moong dal laddu.
Yummy food, tasty drinks and best staff.
Must visit guys!

Absolutely love this place in gurgaon sector 29. If you want to have some home cooked feel like food than this is your place.
In the picture you can see rajma chawal and Indian thali, absolutely amazing taste very light.
Things I have tried rajma chawal, pudina nimbu paani, Indian thali, pasta, wai wai bhel and much more. Food taste is super, serve time is also very less. Amazing Ambience close to nature
Karoon Sem
It’s a nice tucked away cafe in Leisure Valley Park. The menu is limited and that’s one of the best things about this place. It’s all about quality. Healthy options are abundant and the specials are wonderful. Tried the makki ki roti with sarson ka saag and it was delicious. The cold coffee was amazing and I ended up having 3 of them. Also the Bombay egg on pao was great.
The fact that it was pet friendly was a blessing..!!!!
Raghav Kochhar
Great food and good ambience. The go to place for a lazy sunday brunch. Would definitely recommend this place.

Quantity less as per price.

We look forward to visiting this restaurant

Very Natural Place near delhi.
Good for morning breakfast and then for a short leisure walk in the park.
Official parking space is too little but u can park your car outside also. It’s free as of now (10-11-2019)
Washrooms are there.
A bit expensive. Around 400/person.
Shiva Gulati
Love the whole menu esp. palak patta chaat, sabudana sticks and bun tikki
Vrinda Sasidhar
Heard quite a bit about the place being great for breakfast. Was disappointed, at least based on the two dishes I ordered.

The lemon seviya upma - lacked the punch , the lemon and was a bit greasy.
Ragi idli was a bit hard and dry. The condiments such as sambar, chutneys did not make up for the lack of taste either.

Probably my South Indian palette is being harsh but did not enjoy my breakfast.
Ashish Sharma
Ambience is outstanding if you want peace and nature. Then this place is for you .
Amazing sitting facility, tasty and highly hygienic food , wide range of breakfast, lunch & snacks .
Price is bit high but considering ambience it's worth it .
Must visit restaurant in gurgaon.
Open till only Eve 7 pm .
Ajay Singh
Quite a popular place in the city already! It was amazing place to have wonderful breakfast. With pleasant weather, green ambience, and courteous service, it was a genuinely happy experience of breakfast. Had Poha, moong chilla, 02 cups tea each, idli, sandwiches, quinoa khichdi etc. Out of which quinoa khichdi was amazing, other items were decent too.
However, personally felt Poha could have been better, as it was too dry, though still tasted good.
Also, stuffing of moong chilla can be improved.
Overall a decent experience, and as a breakfast venue can be repeated again! And again.
Keep up the great work.
Vikas Kush Sharma
Very Environment Friendly Cafe, Menu can be vast us what i personally feel, ordered palak patta chaat and it was delicious 5/5 for the chaat, drinks were just okay okay, needs improvement in fact. Indian Thaali was also Okay Okay, though the items were good in quantity but taste can be improvised.
4.5/5 for the ambiance
5/5 for the chaat
2.5/5 for the drinks ( smoothie and jaljeera)
3/5 for the indian Thaali
Shikha Agarwal
Nice place for quirky outings with friends.

Ambiance -5/5 Its in the garden, so not a high end kind, but otherwise in between the garden with tat theme
Taste- 5/5 Food is good, nice presentation
Quantity- 3/5 Quantity is very less, so make sure to order accordingly.
Worth- 3/5 Its costly. Everything is little bit on the higher side as compared to a normal garden cafe
Kartik Somani
Environment friendly cafe and the outlet is a must try as the prices here are affordable.
The staff was also friendly. The cafe was spacious and interior were eye- catching.
*You must try this outlet.*

Cafe in the midst of the park. It's famous for its awesome food. Distract yourself from hustle and bustle of Delhi/gurgaon and enjoy the food with relaxed environment .
LoveForFood
I am a frequent visitor to this amazing cafe in the woods. Pasta and masala tea complements well to the location. Be it friends or a couple, this place attracts people of all ages.

You can enjoy talks with your buddies in the silence of woods. I would prefer to go in the evening when the big ball shaped colorful lamps would lighten the ambience outside. For those who want to sit inside, there is a place as well.

Richie rich place 💕💕
I enjoyed this place 💕
you can try so many new dishes, lived their presentation🔥🔥
GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY 💸
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

The place is nice and cozy. If u are bored with breakfast in the bed on weekends, then this place is the one. However, u need to reach early near around 10am otherwise there will be huge waiting. I ordered poha, bread with egg bhurji and filter coffe. Food was okayish. Extra point for the idea-you can go for a run and end up having a healthy meal. Looking forward to try other things in the menu.
Aditya Sharma
Giving 3 stars just for the quality of service
Otherwise the place does not have too much to offer but great place for family breakfast
Sydneyhomecook
Such good food. masala chai is just so refreshing!
Best place for the tempting Egg curry. Its just the service is lil slow while every time I have beeen there I have been served with such good food.
Danish Gaba
Amazing ambainace. Close to the nature. A place where u can have long talks. Tried their biryani and hot chocolate . It was good and amazing. A must visit for everyone.
Abhishek Arora
Heard a lot about this place so decided to go there for the breakfast. Very limited basic menu.
As for the ambience it was too hot to enjoy.
So many flies!! Pathetic!
Just ruined my saturday morning breakfast!
Rohit Arora
Nice place to hangout with friends. Actually it is situated at the middle of a park so you will feel very peaceful and soothing. I tried many items from their menu. Only there is one prob it is pure veg cafe. One suggestion please add more items to the menu there are very less options to choose from.
Kritika Kataria
The place has an outdoor and indoor seating capacity and a very rustic ambience. They serve fussion food which is interesting and delicious , they have all day breakfast available and caters to all age group. The best part is it opens in morning and is one of most healthiest options at that time
Akhil Gaur
Nicely conceptualised place in a quiet ambience of park, complemented perfectly with good food. Moong dal khichdi and Rajma done nicely but salt can be less in rajma though. Good flavours with right amount of spices. Must try for everyone who is looking forward to good meal in a quite earthy place. Lemon mint and green tea too done right with apt taste. Keep it up. Kindly do something about the flies especially during the monsoon period.
Kavya Dileep
Been here twice. Once for breakfast and then for lunch. It's safe to say, from my experience, order anything from the menu it's bound to be tasty. I don't think I've ever come across a restaurant with purely Indian dishes in the menu and has tasted so amazing. My favorites as of now would be podi idli and veg biriyani!
Aditi Kumar
Haven't tried a lot of things on the menu.. But a 9/10 for the set up and ambience. A great break from closed air conditioned cafes! The place has a very earthy feel. Great place to catch up on chai and snacks!

This place is appropriate for casual meeting, it is a hidden gem constructed with seating inside a huge bamboo hut surrounded with a park. They have a compact menu making this place ideal for breakfast & brunch. Even when it is situated in an isolated area, tables were all occupied.

What we had -

Pesto Tomato & Cheese Grilled Sandwich - 4.5

Simply yet flavoursome sandwiches nicely grilled served with green home-made chutney. It you love eating & experimenting in sandwiches just like me, you will like this one for sure.

Cheese Masala Omlette - 4

Just as a regular omlette, this was to have cheese into it but we could not taste it. This was served with a jumbo bread nicely grilled & cut into 2 halves.

Masala Chai - 5

A strong homemade tea is no less than a boon. I need a tea for breakfast/brunch to complete my meal. This helped me have a complete meal.

This is a good and refreshing concept of keeping yourself healthy along with filling your tummy with likeable food. This cafe is in a park. You will eat in nature. I ordered Lemon grass iced tea, pasta, omelette everything was good. Must try place in gurgaon.
Shailja Narang
An all time favorite place for an early morning breakfast. Set amidst a garden, it has both indoor and outdoor seating. Food is good, service a bit slow but overall this is one of the most recommended restaurants in Gurgaon city.
Jagpreet K. Sanhotra
Perfect Combination of Nature & Food!

This place has some of the best simple yet tasty food options. We had masala idli, bombay sandwich, filter coffee and modi nagar ki shikanji. All 5 on 5.
Delivery Is little slow which is why its not a place for Sunday brunch. Otherwise all good.
Namrata Bhattacharya
Wonderful experience. The food was quite good. And the amazing part is very lightly made dishes. We ordered- Apam with Thai Curry, Bombay bhurji on toast, Kejriwal sandwich( which sounded and tasted very unique ☺️), Kokum juice, and filter coffee. We went there for a brunch and really liked the food. Also you should visit because of the ambience really nice garden set. But yes could have been maintained a bit properly.
Anupriya Agarwal
We hogged onto upma, podi idli, Thai curry and appam, bhurji toast, filter coffee, Kejriwal sandwich, sunny side up, kokum soda and masala chai! Perfect place for a Sunday lazy breakfast!
Deepika Nadha
Most recommended Food item - palak patta chaat!! I don’t think any other place offers a palak patta chaat like roots :) in others, sabudana fingers are also great!
Otherwise, ambience wise it’s one of my favourites in a great weather, to enjoy a very casual evening.
Madhu Potter
Roots, a beautiful green cafe is a must must visit when in Gurgaon! Surrounded by greenery on all sides, this cafe is simple and gorgeous all at once! A lovely homestyle menu-with yummy short plates like poha, sabudana fingers and bhajjis, it's a great place to relax and catch up on a lazy day. Special mention to their amazing chai and the steamed chocolate cake-must haves! Service is quick and efficient as well! A gem!
Himanshu Puri
If you want to break from regular cafes n restro ..this is the place to go.. just have some coffee there n admire the nature around it ..good for instagrammers.. food is overpriced.. limited options.... 2 stars for food and 1 star for ambience.
Aaseem Sood
The cafe is quite serene and its a treat to you eyes to look around.

The seating is just okay, seems like needing to be taken care off.

We ordered Vegetable Upma and Ragi idly. The food was really good.

The filter coffee and the hot chocolate was little disappointing.
Rajnikant Tiwari
One of my favorite places in Gurgaon to visit! not just the ambiance but the food here is also lip-smacking. There’s a lot of greenery there and you can also go for a walk around.

Spicy Mushroom on toast, Poha, and masala chai is something everyone should try once!
Rupali Gupta
Well it’s a place I will go again n again
Cause of fresh yummy food n as said by all it brings you close to nature
Well food is undoubtably delicious
Two things they can work on our installing more fans to keep mosquitoes away n increasing staff to keep up with full house restaurant
I hope the concerned our hearing n will act on it
Nevertheless cause of its food one can’t miss it.

I went to this place just to check it out. Wasn’t very optimistic at first but boy didn’t it just left its mark on me! The place is cheerful, close to nature, and away from the hustle-bustle of the city. The prices are highly affordable and the food tastes homely.

We went there for breakfast and ordered Bun Tikki, Bhajji Platter, Wai Wai Chat, Kheer, and Chai. All were 5/5. The Roots Cafe is just ten minutes walk from the Iffco Chowk Metro Station and is opposite to Kingdom of Dreams. There’s a lot of greenery there and you can also go for a stroll after a heavy breakfast.

Okay guys, review time. A resturant rating is measured on 3 aspects
1) Food Taste and quality&amp
2) Ambience
3) Value for money

This one checks 2 boxes i.e., 1 & 2. Yes I liked the place (good if you are visiting in winters specially) and food is just fine but the amount being charged for each and every item is bit on a higher side, hence i dont see value for money. for e.g items like Modinagar Shikanji & Jaljeera cost 130 Rs. Wohaaa... No doubt its a good place to go with family and friends but food is not exceptionally good that i would pay so high for it. Staff is very courteous and menu has variety too. so in case you are looking forward to go for a casual place with fresh air and value for money is not the concern, then this one will be a good place for you.

I’m highly disappointed with the restaurant and their service people. More than that I’m shocked and heart broken to face this incident.

If you’re a pet lover, you’ll get my point. In fact even if you’re not pls read this for your own safety!!

4 of us along with our innocent pet, a golden retriever went to this cafe after enquiring if it was a pet friendly cafe to which they said yes. We were cautious of street dogs at the main gate of the garden. But to our shock when we were about to enter the cafe, one of the 2 street dogs attacked our dog and did not leave her until we had to hit him several times. Our pet had done nothing to provoke that dog. We were simply walking towards the restaurant and suddenly this crazy dog resting t the entrances jumped at our pet. She now has a big bruise (image attached) She’s in shock and still cries in sleep.

Adding to the grief, the staff asked not to hit that dog. But why? He attacked, we can’t teach him a lesson?

It was a Crazy dog, it could have attacked on humans if not a pet. We had stick we tried to scare him but nothing worked.

They claim to be pet friendly but we were super shocked and felt tortured and unsafe their. Our dog is undergoing medication and treatment. We hope she gets well soon. But pls refrain from visiting such poorly managed so called pet friendly cafes/restaurants.

Dear management of the cafe, you tell me who’ll compensate for our losses and grief?

Have visited the cafe often, especially during morning workout runs at sec 29 park. I feel they are hyped beyond reality. First you hardly get a place to sit, as it's always crowded, secondly they are not reasonable compared to the quantity n quality they serve. Yet it's always a serene experience to enjoy a cup of tea over snacks after a good morning workout at sec 29 park.

I visited this place with my friends on weekend for brunch. The taste of the food was good but not too much delicious. I found the prices a little bit expensive. Ambiance of the restaurant is very good.

Awesome place for breakfast. Winters u need to eat in the garden. Have moong daal ka chilla and oats uttapam. Really experimental and good in taste. I love going repeatedly to this place. Great place to hang out with friends and eat post ur marathon runs in gurgaon.

Had sandwiches and masala tea from Roots. The food was quite average, and the menu is significantly limited. Roots is a great option, though, on the day of good weather, as outdoor seating is available and the place has a very soothing and earthly feel to it.

Its one of my favourite place to eat. We recently ordered rajma rice combo.
Food when delievered was in good temperature.
Quality of food was good as well. But quantity of rice was less.
Still i recommend this place for chai, stuffed chila, kadi rice and rajma rice.

This is a great place amidst a push Green Park. The food here is made with solar energy and therefore you need to be patient while ordering. Their quinoa upma is mind-blowing. Kal jeera is a cool summer drink and very very refreshing. I tried experimenting there an order Thai food but it was again excellent in terms of its preparation very authentic in taste. Love Most of the things that I order there. It's a must visit

Been to roots number of times with friends and parents. Everyone loves this place especially during a sunny winter day. Being adjacent to park makes it an ideal place for picnic with kids. Everything on the menu is enjoyable. Poha and kadi chawal is recommended
My go to breakfast place. I have never braved the summers in this place but winter breakfasts here are just divine. Long waiting times have never deterred me. Service is average but food is fantastic. Lunch was below average here. Highly recommended for breakfasts.
