Review Saffron - Gurugram (Gurgaon)

Nitika garg
Went for a family dinner where we had elders as well as children among the audience. Live Indian classical music kept the ambience lively yet open for conversations. Food was delicious, presentable. Veg options were plenty. Just a request to add some more options for vegan, gluten-free diet people.

It's a beautiful hotel or it's better to say it's a resort. Saffron is a lively restaurant with warm ambience and great vibes. Live classical music just adds to the whole experience of eating out. Service is personalized and friendly. Food is nice.

We came here to celebrate the birthday. Food and ambience is awesome Service is outstanding, especially Anshuman and Chinmoy, are best. It was a pleasant experience.

We went with our clients. Place is super awesome. Very nice food and service. The sitar vadan added to the Indian touch which our American clients loved. Great place to fine dine.

Great place for a party of 12 or more. Food is excellent and servers are courteous. Our server Shivam fulfilled our special request as well and made our experience even better.

The first thing you will notice about this restaurant is that the ceilings are super high and there is live melodious tunes of Persian influenced music. The different dishes available are plentiful and everything just looks and tastes good. One of their best items is the Biryani, do try that if you can.

We were here for a family dinner, here's our consensus on the experience: Tasteful interiors (pun intended)! Elegant property. Courteous Staff Delicious food (a shade expensive, though). Enjoyed the visit very much... Thanks to the warm and courteous staff....

The biryani are simply the best dish here

I have had dinner on two consecutive nights at this place. Both of them a-ma-zing. To start with, they have a good Australian Shiraz (Laughing Magpie 2008) that, due to its spiciness, goes very with Indian cuisine. On my first day, I first had the chicken kebab follwed by chicken chettinad (a fiery hot chicken stew from the South). They had the politeness to recommend that I first taste the chettinad, and if it was too hot they would exchange them for free. I ended up mopping the dish with my naan. On my second day I had more Shiraz, together with a very good vegetable tandoori kebab (tomato, onion, potatoe, cauliflower), plus another chicken stew (forgot the name). In this case, the main course was considerably less hot, but still delicious. Exquisite service. Live sitar music. Price about INR 4,000 each night (1 person, 2 glasses of wine, starter and main). Yes, I know you can eat for less in India, but still...

Went to celebrate my wife's birthday... Everything a notch advice expectation... Food, service, Elegance, live carnatic music... Brilliant... They also decorated the table very tastefully... Kudos to the team...

Food here is Preety good apart from the machi Jhol which they served with sea food thaali. It took me 1hr 30 min from giving order to having my food and getting a bill for payment ... means things here are Preety slow

Ambiance was ok, Food is good, service was fast and staff was very attentive and polite. Price are on higher side.

Trident is one of the best resort cum business hotels in Gurgaon, when it comes to ambience! This restaurnt in Trident is 10/10 for service and taste! They serve Thalis options in lunch, which serve a nice variety of food..pay them a visit for a divine food with a super luxury touch!

We tried the thali this time at the recommendation of the service staff. They mentioned that we can ask for any amount of refill for the items. Was surprised to see one piece of kebab served. On asking for a second helping, the waiter asked if I wanted 1 piece or 2!! So much in the name of unlimited quantity. It took 20minutes to bring and we practically lost the interest to have it. The dal and alu matar were bland, the mutton was tender but the gravy not worth it. Also, the waiter never bothered to mention that the juices he insisted we order were separate from the thali menu. Being a Trident member with frequent visits to their other properties and restaurants, this time I was disappointed!

We got the seafood and the veg thali and really loved how well the dishes were done. The dal makhni was brilliant, the breads were nice. The garlic naan can do better but the chef respected our wish for green chilli paratha. The seafood thali was recommended by our server and his confidence convinced me to try it. It's the second day since my dinner and I've still had my thoughts lingering about the brilliant fish, the prawn and the amazing service!<br/><br/>PS Trident Gurgaon service is hands down one of the best I've witnessed.

Good small restaurant with great food and extra ordinary service.Everything we ate was very good and cooked as per instructions. The waiters were excellent and so was the Chef.loved the Classical instruments being played at dinner time.Ate there twice.

Courteous staff, peaceful ambience, great live music and yumm food ! Saffron does maintain the Oberoi standards. We were lucky to avail Axis card gourmet fest offer and had ample amount of food which did not burn a hole in our pockets ! Their Kashmiri wazwaan thali was amazing and I loved the lamb curry, rajma, as well as chicken dish and especially the pulav and breads accompanying the thaali ! The starters as well as dessert was great too. Only suggestion would be to subdue the amount of salt and spice in badaam shorba and that would make it perfect ! My husband ordered vegetarian thaali and he loved everything including Kashmiri dum aloo. Also, the management had arranged sumptuous truffle cake for our anniversary and live Indian music in the restaurant added to the lovely ambience !

This place is amazing. Coming to food which was beautifully presented and amazingly cooked, I must say a meal of dal makhni( authentic), and dahi ke kebab and naan was a sumptuous meal. However they could increase the quantity of food.

searching bar with sea food or best sandwiches in town then visit saffron in udyog vihar lovely atmosphere best gestures sevices are at their best

I really thought they tried hard. I came mid week and I think I got the trainees. This place is a knock out. Beautiful atmosphere and stunning taste of India

Sweet fish as Paneer Butter Masala is not an exciting dinner option. But Yellow Dal Tadka was to die for. Garlic Naan was hopeless and Aloo Kulcha was no match to numerous street vendors in Delhi. Ambiance was good and Dal magical. Liberal serving of Papars, Fresh Green Salad and courteous staff covered and brought the rating from 1 to 3

The Trident has always been an iconic property in Gurgaon with its stunning entrance area. This restaurant is an apt extension of the same class. Impeccable interiors and service are to be expected. The food is priced steeply , also as expected, but somehow had a very 'local' taste. The awadhi biryani was excellent. Worth a visit for a special occassion.

It was a great experience for us at the Saffron. We visited the restaurant for our 2nd anniversary. The ambience is good with the sitar musicians giving good and light music. The food is equally good too. We ordered Petal in the Metal cocktails for us which had a slightly sweet and rosy flavor. For appetizers we ordered kebab platter which was standard fare. For the main course we ordered lal mans and plain naan. The lal mans was quite spicy although the meat was quite tender and melted in our mouths. The naan was also quite soft. For desserts we ordered gulaab jamun and paan ice cream which were also quite good. All in all it was a wonderful evening spent. The service was excellent and staff were quite courteous and helpful. We would definitely visit again.

Went to Saffron - nice little restaurant in trident hotel along with my wife. We opted for their thali, which is quite filling. Thali includes soup and Indian desserts. We went at lunch time and the place was not too crowded. In fact only one more couple was there when we went. Soup they served was tomato basil and it was exactly what I like. Starter were just about ok. Thali has multiple dishes and rice variety along with the breads that you choose to ask. In dessert they served us rasmalai, which is a bit less sweet and perfect to my liking. However if you like your dessert to be very sweet, then you may not like their rasmalai. Service was excellent and staff was more than happy to personalise our dishes. Overall good lunch.<br/>

Visited this place for lunch. <br/><br/>We tried the following: Galouti Kabab, Chicken Tikka, Garlic Naan, Laccha Paratha, Black Dal, Lal Maas, Dessert platter ( Paan Ice cream, carrot halwa, Rasmalai, Jamun, etc..) <br/><br/>The food here is incredibly delicious, the laal maas was the best I ever had so far in my life. The meat and the curry were so well done, with the right amount of spices. <br/><br/>The desserts also deserve a special mention, every item was fantastic.
Vikash
Surely gives a true 5 star experience. Went there for a vegetarian thali n no doubts the experience was fantastic. With perfect balance in flavours and appetizers giving you the best start to this exquisite experience. Just one shortcoming the breads along with thali can be worked upon.

Ambience is quite good, well decorated but when it comes to food it does not worth, I would suggest visit Made in Punjab or Punjab grill for North Indian cuisine. Not happy with the food that was served.
The Foodcase.delhi
My recent visit to saffron lead me to Kashmiri food festival going right now.Since North Indian is a regular thing we thought to try Kashmiri for a change. So ordered a Gucchi yakhni with garlic naan and mirchi parantha.<br/><br/>Gucchi yakhni in simple words was just like our Punjabi kadhi. It was tangy coz of the curd.Since we have always had Gucchi matar the Punjabi style in tomato gravy this Kashmiri style couldn't impress us much.Next garlic naan came in cold and hard.Unlike other naans it wasn't soft and buttery neither it was hot.Instead of fresh garlic they used roasted garlic.Such give cafes doesn't usually go wrong with their breads I don't know how their naan was so bad.Mirchi parantha on the other hand was nice but again served cold.<br/><br/>In terms of hospitality is was good. The Ambience is also quite good.Service on the other hand a bit slow and prices a bit high and in taste not that great.I expect better food if I'm shedding good amount of money!

Authentic North Indian food with excellent service . Have been there at least 3 times and never been disappointed . Kababs melt in the mouth , and the daal is one of the best I have had / the barbecue pineapples however takes the cake ... you will be left asking for more - the service is very good and the ambience enhanced by live ghazals ... lovely place !

Saffron Indian Restaurant, i like the thali style in both veg and non-veg. Nice ambience. <br/><br/>Over all experience was good. A place for decent and elegant lunch.

Saffron is the place to go for the hospitality and for the live music. <br/><br/>Service- Good <br/><br/>Ambience- The Red is a bit dazzling but well isn’t that what India is all about. And the sitar music was soul-warming. <br/><br/>Food- Well remember that Oberoi mostly caters to the foreign cliental and the food is really to that taste. The dishes were flavourful but you can’t miss out on the sweetness in almost all preparations- Butter Chicken, paneer and even dal makhni. Laal Maas was a dish I savoured. <br/><br/>Ps - when ordering Indian breads or naan go for the plain naan rather than garlic naan. Because their naan is more of crispy garlic filled naan and not our butter naan with fried but raw garlic on top.

Have visited on 10th August 2018 for dinner with my family, To talk about the service and hospitality, I think the points will be less to give, so awesome experience that I would like to this place again and again. The food was so tasty and the drinks that I had there was for the first time. the Irish drinks, one must try for sure. Very happy.

Love this restaurant not only for the delicious North Indian food that they serve but also for the top class hospitality which is unmatchable. Each and every staff member is courteous and tries to make you comfortable. My favourites are dal makhani, paneer kulcha and all the deserts.
Taru Shikha
The staff is excellent , very attentive , well mannered and warm , and so is the chef . <br/>However thali they serve is ordinary and average.. <br/>Pepper rasam soup is nice , starters are dry and average , it’s more like a regular Restuarant food than a 5 star quality restuarant food - feeling a little disappointed :( <br/>At dinner time the Live Indian jugalbandi of sitar , Tabla and Sarangi will keep you rooted to Indian culture 👌

We went for ala carte as well as buffet in Saffron.<br/>Immediately was impressed by the high vaulted ceilings and grand foyer.<br/>Service was immaculate and the ambience of the restaurant was more on the formal side.<br/>We were recommended platters to start off. It consisted of 3 jumbo prawns, sheekh kababs and chicken tikkas. It came at a price of 2250..hefty!<br/><br/>Buffet was honestly a let down. It had a run off d mill salad counter, wood burning pizza oven and 2 food stations.<br/>Starters were one chicken, fish, paneer and hara bhara kabab each. Mains were similar nothing to rave about. Dessert was typical again..gulab jamuns, kheer, cake, mousse, tart and icecream.<br/>Pear tart was executed nicely. I crumbled cookies on the ice cream which made it yum!<br/><br/>Overall the spread was okay and quality was good with not much variety. Will visit again for the glam of the place..cheers!

In India there are several Hotels and resorts but I recently visited to Trident hotel in Gurgaon, I went to Saffron ,which I got to know from my friends.experience was wonderful and food as well And server Sandeep exceptional.Attentive ,more of humble and told me everything about particular Khandhari chicken which he suggested to me .And I had Keema meat with Malabar paratha super combination.<br/>

Celebrated my first wedding anniversary by staying at the Trident and had our dinner in this restaurant.. The food is Mind-blowing :O :).. The dal makhani and the kukkad tikka makkhanwala (their version of butter chicken) were particularly the best I have had in a long time.. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful in making it extremely special for us.. Reasons for giving it a 4 instead of a 5 is because of the prices.. It is extremely pricey even for a 5 star hotel.. The Ambience can also be updated a bit and it can be made more grand..
Yashaswi Bhatt
The restaurant is part of the Trident hotel. Once inside the hotel you don’t realise that you are in the middle of the busy chaotic Gurugram. Saffron is the specialty Indian restaurant inside the Trident. The staff makes you feel wonderful each and every time. Live Indian music. The food is really great. The desserts are amazing. The place is a must go for people looking for a fine dine experience. <br/><br/>Have been here multiple times. It is one of the best dining experiences.

Beautiful set up with pleasing music!<br/>I tried the vegetarian thali which included one soup, two starters, 4 main course vegetables and a dessert.<br/>Also, there is a wide variety of pickles you can try.<br/>The staff was very courteous too!<br/>I'd definitely revisit this place, Thumps Up!

This place has a very distinct look and feel. As such Trident had very colonial touch to it's ambience. Food quality is superb. Tried their famous thali and each dish was a delicacy. Staff was very polite and courteous. Though you would expect this all from a 5 star property but still they take an edge over...
Nishantgaharwar1976
Food is good and the ambiance superb.<br/>Service has a LOT to be desired. Frankly, I didn’t expect this service from an Oberoi property.<br/>Our server was very sweet....but just super stretched.

Most uncomplicated and saffronized Briyani, aromatic and the tender chicken just melts as you feel the light spices in the rice, for my taste this was one of the best Briyani's I had, Cheers Saffron, will go again and again.

first of all.. beautiful property.. grand.. royal.. <br/><br/>we opted veg lunch thalis.. including one cocktail, soup, tandoori imli aloo, dahi kababs, yellow dal tadka, palak makai, aloo matar, kofta curry, pineapple raita, pulao, salad, choice of breads & gulabjamun.. <br/><br/>every thing was excellent till appetisers.. including drinks, soups, dahi kababs and aloo.. main course was below average.. dessert was average.. <br/>variety was limited.. two or more desserts, more thn two appetizers, should be dere.. the main course was bland and over simplified.. aloo matar had only matar in it..<br/><br/>musts: starters and tomato shorba<br/>food/taste/quality: average<br/>service: slow kitchen<br/>staff: good<br/>location: excellent<br/>interior: average, please keep in mind to use freshners bcz the smell was irritating in the restaurant..
Amrita Roy
Very average food with very minimal options to order. A Pind Baluchi may do better on good days than this place. Just that the staff was really courteous and almost made up for the food.

I have been couple of times at this place but never get enough of this place.been to many five stars but I don't find a better Indian food than this one.dal makhani is a must have.ambience food everything is 👌

Excellent food! Beautifully balanced with great flavours! Both the veg and non vegetarian selections for the thali were impeccably presented and with bags of flavour! The malai tikka, mutton and the dal makhani were exceptional as was the dessert of Kesar rasmalai. Service was stellar with a special mention for Shubham who was incredibly pleasant, polite and delighted our 8 yo with a special mango drink as well! <br/>This was our third visit to Saffron and we can't wait to be back!

I went for a thali system. The thali includes fish patrani, tandoori chicken, galouti kebab . The fish was not fresh and smelly.<br/>The main course includes mutton salikoti, chicken makhani.Mutton was very good.<br/>The fish was south indian style and not that good.<br/>The paan ice cream and gulab jamun are good.<br/>
Ripudaman Gaba
Exquisite romantic dinner. Beautiful setting and excellent service. From complimentary chaat to arrays of pickles everything amazing. For starters had chatpata aloo which was average with unremarkable bloody Mary but main course was something else. Amazing laal maas and gutta curry. What blew us away was the amazing complimentary dessert Indian treasure box. With mystical fumes coming out of the box the dessert was an amalgamation of gulab jamun jalebi and kulfi.

One of the best fine dining experience in Delhi NCR is guaranteed here. Beautifully set property with courteous staff will further ensure a wonderful time. Could only try their vegetarian menu today but has been made to believe for the laal maas is a specialty.. Certainly coming back soon it Team Trident. Thankyou for an amazing time 😊

This is a phenomenal place for fine Dining! You start with a offbeat and tasty welcome appetiser, coupled with esteemed service and hospitality of the service staff and live music of sitar and tabla ( it is a treat for people who like sitar, like me)...! Do not forget to have the "Crispy" Hara kababs ... I bet you would not have had better kababs than this... The variety of options on the menu is good with few rare names of the dishes you don't find often...! A must go place, fellas... Happy eating!

Superlative indian food. The vegetables, the pickles and the appetizers were delicious. The multigrain roti was splendid. I was disappointed by the dal makhni. Even average food places in delhi serve superb dal. This dal had no flavor and no character. Else the thali was superb. The tomato soup was outstanding!
Sandeep Bara
One line verdict: Super Tasty food and great service<br/>Had Nonveg thali <br/>The entrees were super tasty fish tandoori and never before tasted melt in your mouth lamb kebab <br/>The mains consisted of a super duper chicken dish a great tasting dal makhani a mildly flavored mutton nahari and not so great...

Visited the place last weekend. It was my first time here. Went for lunch. As I entered, the ambience struck cords in an instant. The atmosphere had a calming effect with an instrumental music. The colours were a delight to the eye! 4.5 for ambience.<br/>Service: Excellent ! The staff was extremely courteous and polite,  very knowledgeable and informative. <br/>Food: Now this is the part I love the most. The menu was a set. I ordered a non veg thali. However, the restaurant boasts of the Pickle section as their speciality- all kinds of pickles - sweet, tangy, spicy. They were all delicious with the papads, my personal fav being the pineapple(in sweet) and Jackfruit(in Tangy). Good start ! Then came the Tomato Dhaniya Shorba ! One of the best I've ever had !! A perfected shorba I wud say. <br/>And then the Thali - Starters to begin with (though they were average, nothing out of the world) and then rice, Dal makhani, Aloo ki Sabzi, Mutton curry, Fish Curry, Chicken masala and Raita - I have posted the pic, not v creative photography though. I liked the presentation too. The plates effused class. The food was really yummy and the ingredients fresh. In particular I enjoyed the fish curry, superb spice blend.<br/>And the meal finished with Rabri. It was yum. I totally loved it. I also tried the Paan ice-cream which was good but i digged on the rabri completely. In all, 4.5 to the food too.

Really liked Indian food ! The service was up to mark<br/>& dishes were well prepared with right texture and flavours .will come again in future too

Gorgeous restaurant, delicious food. We went here on our anniversary. Enjoyed our lunch to bits. Very expensive but totally worth for the food and experience. Later we came to know they have good offers on dine out app. Mist visit of you wanna have a memorable fine dine experience !
@FuloriBinaChutneyKaiseBani
Cramped ambience and costly like hell. Live sitar and tabla music does help in lifting the otherwise dull place. Food is good in parts and ordinary in others. Murgh malai tika was yummy, and refreshingly different from usual affair everywhere else. Mutton sheek kebab was ok but the dish we were looking forward to the most on our visit to Delhi - Butter Chicken - was a let down. Waiters forgot our soup order. Finally, don't have one good reason to visit the place again except to listen to sitar.
Manish Bhatia
Exquisite set up, good food but below par service sums up my experience at the restaurant. Tenders telling us to order breads in bulk as it takes them time to further place the order. Then, they brought all the breads at one go. We had still water in our glasses and suddenly a tender and poured regular water to top up the glasses - unique carelessness displayed. Well, I would like to believe that it was a hard day at work for the staff. Nevertheless, the ambience was amazing and the food was too good to give a rating less than what I am giving.

Trident hotel is one of the finest properties in this part of the town.Once inside the resort it does not seem that you are in the heart of a bustling township. The interiors of Saffron are rather elegant without overpowering.I have been to this outlet few times for lunch as aprt from a la carte they also have the option of unlimited thali both veg and non veg. They give you an amuse bouche which could be a delicious bhalla papri or  tangy bhelpuri. This is followed by a hot Tomato Shorba which sets the pace for the exciting time ahead. The serve two appitzers and their chicken tikkas and lamb kababs are well prepared. The other things on the thali consits of a fish, chicken, saffron dal (which is very different from what one has been used to having ) an aloo dish ,rice and is served with assorted induan breads. The dishes are have Pakistani names. The meal is finished with a dessert which is a bit of a let down The serve a pan ice-cream which can be avoided. However the service staff offered us the option of rasmali or gulab jamun which were good.I have benn to this outlet few times but if they want people to come over for their thalis they should think of changing or rotating the dishs every few days as one gets to tend bored I have already been there twice.Full marks to the service staff which makes the visit a memorable experiance

Impeccable Trident !  Oasis of calm ! The sublime  Oberoi Hospitality experience.<br/>Enjoyed our meal at Saffron - The Raan, Dal Makhani is outstanding.<br/><br/>As Indians, we should all proud of a Truly Made in India Product - The Trident Service, <br/>The service at Trident is best in the world. Way-way ahead of steel and glass, characterless 5 star hotel chains which are filling up India !

Saffron at The Trident hotel is indian cuisine restaurant . Excellent food. Courteous staff. Great ambience. Very nice place to have indian food. Located in The Trident hotel, strategically placed. U feel good as soon as u enter the hotel lobby. Nicely done property. The Oberoi is also interconnected. Been there for lunch thali.. Nice 4 course meal. Starts with a bhalla papri chat, next is soup accompanied with salad and papad. Then comes the thali with the main course and the starters. Last but not the least, sweet dish that consists of a choice between paan ice cream and rasmalai. Food taste was good. All in all a nice place.
Sunakshi Aggarwal
The good part about this place is the ambience of the hotel. Trident is quite nicely made and their other restaurants are good too. This place has very basic interiors that an indian restaurant should have. Watch out for the prices though. The food here is not that bad but not the best either. The appetisers are decent to eat but in the main course like I always do go for the paneer and dal with butter naan. But for people who like experimenting there are a lot more options to chose from.
Toshit Batra
Impeccable service, great food and soothing live music makes this place one of the best Indian restaurants in the town. The chef customised the dishes to our preference. A very good place to host any of your guests.

Excellent is the word most appropriate for this place... We went here for a special evening and they made it even better.... I think it's a benchmark for service... The staff is super attentive but non intrusive... They take such a good care of you... And another striking thing is the grandeur of this place.... It's so beautiful... As soon as you enter the fact that it's in the middle of udyog vihar gets lost...You feel transported to a serene place.... Amongst the food we had the best was kathal... Other things were good to taste but not boastful... But the chocolate cake they provided was just out of the world... So soft...sinful...overall a super place to celebrate something special...

I had heard about this place a lot and finally went there on 4th Feb. Entrance to the hotel followed by entrance to Saffron is amazing. Now once you are settled and light live music is on the go, you start preparing for your meal.<br/><br/>It was a office dinner and we were in a group; we opted for a package dinner which comprises of some starters (I think it was 3 each for veg/non veg) followed by limited options in main course and at last it ends up with a sweet dish. We all felt that the dishes served were all very normal and nothing new or for which we are paying 3500 INR per person. Although looking at their alacarte menu it looks very promising. Also service was very very slow.

Dining at Saffron can be a delight of any Indian food lover. I enjoyed a lunch thali here. The menu comprised of a drink, soup, appetiser, starters, veg and non veg curries, along with other sides and desserts. Anything you like could be repeated.<br/><br/>The food was really delicious and their presentation of thali was amazing. It was a wholesome meal and prompt service made the entire experience delightful.

A delicious thali lunch spread, on new years eve .. Amazing service , beautiful ambience... Go here for a great experience. Papdi chaat was nice... Soup extra spicy.. In lunch Daal Makhi n Rice were unmatched....Paan ice cream was avg., while the Kheer was awesome... In all - a perfect family lunch ... :)

What a great ambience and what lovely food. Some amazing dishes with huge variety and the 'Izzat ki roti' was just awesome with interesting Chicken & Mutton dishes . Totally worth the price and experience .

Dinner in a restaurant in what is possibly one of the loveliest hotels in the city. Unobtrusive service, beautiful decor, decent wine list and three set menus to choose from. Live classical music to add as well. The food was great (Lahori Aloo was interesting) but expected a lot more creativity in the menu and food. But a nice evening nonetheless.
Kunal
Very good food 4/5. This is one of the better hotels in india.....the ambience is amazing love every bit of it. Hence the extra 0.5 in the rating.

Ah what an experience...stunner of a place, superb service, great food. Couldn't ask for more...<br/>Tip- Don't go there looking for flavour..go there for the overall 'luxury experience'. Stick to itc for flavour.

Saffron is a kind of place that has old world charm, impeccable service, super delicious food, pleasant ambience and in a 5 Star Hotel...What's more to ask for?<br/>My last visit to Saffron was couple of years ago and then I went again last week.<br/>I am so happy that their quality standards have not come down at all. Infact they have only gone up .<br/>Who went: 6 of us<br/>What was the occasion: Business dinner.<br/>What did we order: Settled for Veg Kebab Platter and Non veg kebab platter in appetisers.<br/>In veg, the hara bhara kebab and Soya ki shammi was outstanding, Paneer tikka was very good too. My co diners really enjoyed their Seekh, chicken and Prawn. I could see as the platter was polished off within no time. The servers were even cordial enough to bring a fresh round of kebabs when all we had asked was for re heating some. I guess this is what sets Trident and Oberoi apart from others.<br/>Mind you, if you order Kebab platters, it comes with Dal Makhni and rotis on the side so one can manage their meal within that itself.<br/>For main course, we ordered Yellow Dal. Paneer makhni and Kofte. I really cannot vote for which one was better because all of them were super delicious. I  have to say that Yellow Dal was probably one of the best yellow Dals I have eaten in my life. No exaggerations. <br/>In desserts, my co diners liked their Malpua with rabid and Kulfi. Phirni was ok ok.<br/>What could be better: Next round of rotis took a little extra time. Thiis could be improved.<br/>Otherwise, service was impeccable and very friendly.<br/>Total damage to pocket was approx 20k (incl drinks etc) which was good for a work dinner.<br/>All in all, a memorable dinner.<br/>Thanks, Team Saffron. I won't be surprised if others label you best North Indian in Gurgaon.<br/>Perfect example of a restaurant that continues to maintain consistent quality over all these years.

Went their for lunch and had delicious jackfruit stew and saffron daal. Food was awesome and service was great. Izzat ki roti was unbelievably soft and healthy option. Taking away 0.5 rating due to portion size of daal. Wasn't enough for 2 for a light meal.

It is one of the grand and oldest fine dining places in Gurgaon. The moment you enter the hotel you feel like you are inside a castle. I been to this place various times and every time I found staff is friendly and enthusiastic. Live music during dining certainly adds to the taste. They have speciality of lots of North Indian dishes however there are few of my favourites. I like their murgh tikka, saffron tangri kebab, shammi kebab , bhutte aur methi ke kebab. However if you are a newbie to this place you can start with veg or non veg kebab platters. In main course my favourites are punjabi gobhi guncha, kaju mattar makhni , murgh massalam and awadh biryani. However whatever you are going to order in the place you will get with unique flavour and great quality. In case you want to celebrate a good evening with your family, this is the place to visit.

Been to saffron before but found the service levels, the food, the ambience to be a notch higher this time. The vegetarian fare is amazing - would highly recommend hats-bhara kebabs and hyderabadi biryani. There was extra effort to make us comfortable, right from prickle tasting to surprise appetizers and an anniversary cake and song dedication for my parents. If you want family dining for a special occasion, saffron is the place !! <br/>

Went to celebrate mother's day with family. Amazing ambience. Well spoken staff. We got a table easily and the whole place smelled really nice and just about right for a perfect sunday afternoon. Ordered murg makhani and gosht ki nihari. By far, both of these were one of the best chicken and mutton dishes I ever had. The taste was perfect, the spices were accurate and the consistency was better than any other. The flesh was juicy and perfectly cooked. Absolutely no compiants whatsoever !!! Ordered mango mojito and it was a little dissapointing. The mango taste was perfect...but the rum was a little overpowering. But all in all it was an experience unlike any other. A perfrct celebration done absolutely well. In the end, they served my mother with a happy mother's day cake also, which was chocolate truffle and done perfectly well. The chocolate was great and it was a the best dessert after that kind of main course. Would definately go there whenever possible again.

Been there on my friend’s birthday. Though not much people were sitting at the moment we entered, there was a live sitar and tabla for the music lovers. The staff is very courteous and at your call all the time if you need anything. The chef does come and asks if you liked the food. Not that expensive. Plus they gave us a complementary cake as well. Kudos to that!

I had few guests from outside India and wanted to take them out for nice Indian dinner. So made a booking in Saffron.. when I reached saffron and asked for my reservation they mentioned that they are sold out and shifting to cilantro which is a multicusine restaurant. Then I decided to leave the place and find another restaurant. Then their manager promised me to serve the food of saffron in cilantro.<br/>We ordered non-veg platter, galouti kebab as starter and all the starter was cold and tasteless. I didn't wanted to create another issue in front of my guests so didnt reported anything to staff. We ordered then Lal maas, butter chicken and shrimp masala. I only loved lal maas and butter chicken. Overall not a great experience.

Have been to the restaurant on March 27. Enjoyed the food and service of staff. They really take good care of guests. Good experience and recommend the place for dinner. Make sure that u reserve your table.

Went here with a group of office colleagues. The hotel is enthralling. Looking at the entrance, I had high expectations from the place I was going to. Must say it was OK. The interiors were not for my taste already. But the live classical Indian music was regrading. The artists were completely involved in their art. The servers were very prompt and were on their job asoon as we settled. They first served us with a complementary dahi papdi chat. Must say I have never tasted a crispier papdi before. In starters were ordered for dahi kabab, fish and galouti kabab followed by main course- besan pyaaz ki roti, sayalkoti murg and chicken curry. Everything tasted good and cooked to perfection. Overall a good experience.

My first visit was enthralling. Soft music. Food served steaming hot and kept aside on a hot plate beside you so that your second helping is as fresh as was your first. Starters to main course to dessert a thumbs up for all. However my second visit was disappointing. Service was lacking and the food was average. Definitely not something for which I'd come to trident. Could've had something like that at any of the order-ins.

Taro toss up: does he compliment the food for its true-ness or does he go Gaga over the excellent layout and design of the property or do the gloves come off and notveryzen waiters take centre stage. Clanging away as he serves you, scraping the dal containers right next to your ear, sigh.....<br/><br/>There must be a Puritan in the management somewhere who can spot the rough edges.<br/><br/>All in all, the truck had stopped but then moved along ...
Garima Mahajan
Outstanding Mughlai food. The red chilly kabab and tandoori Jhinga are the must try here. The Trident has a very nice architectural appeal that sets it apart from the other modern hotels. I have also been coming here for parties and wedding functions and i must say that the food here at the buffets is delicious. Would keep on coming here and would recommend it too.

Being an Oberoi property , was of course absolutely brilliant in terms of ambience. The food was great and authenticity was clearly visible. The kafir lime flavored lemonade was one of the best I have had. Truly recommend to be tried. For a moment we didn't realize there was live music being played and thought it was a recorded CD, very soulful and added to the experience. <br/>
Sambhrant Sahajpal
Awesome food. Awesome ambience. Staff is friendly but looks naive compared to other restaurants at the same budget. Probably the fact that they put up their students as staff to give them hands on experience comes into play. <br/>Overall a good experience. Not a must visit place but good to go!

Being an ex Oberoi employee, how can I not celebrate my birthday in a Oberoi hotel property!<br/><br/>Was at this place on my birthday and I would love to say this (as always) that they made My day :)<br/><br/>Outstanding food and exceptional service (again, as always) this is all what you need when you are celebrating your birthday, don't you?<br/><br/>keep it up you guys!

This was my best fine dining experience till date.<br/>Saffron deserves all the 5 stars for its peaceful ambience with quality live-music, rightful taste of food and their home-like hospitality.<br/>Our order-<br/>Dal makhani was "malai"<br/>Never had this good 'Palak paneer'<br/>In breads, I could enjoy onion kulcha for the first time, as it was perfectly spiced, enough to hit your taste buds and not burn your mouth!<br/>I am totally in love with Trident, will visit it ASAP.

Went to this place for my birthday celebration, and with no second thoughts I say that they made my day! The food is outstanding and the service is exceptional. Melodious instrumental music is being played all the time in the background. What more do you need to celebrate your birthday? We ordered the full course starting with the tasters on both vegetation and non-vegetarian side. The main course dishes like the chicken and lamb curry were perfectly cooked and delicious. Saffron is a decent eating place, with well done ambience and decent staff members. I would definitely love to visit Saffron again.

My second visit to Trident a few days back, this time i tried the Saffron, the hotel doesn't fail to impress again. I got my team over to the restaurant for lunch, must say everyone had good things to say about the hotel and the fantastic thali that was offered. Compliments to the General Manager for such an experience and the entire team who did accommodate most of our odd requests like extra kebabs during the meal. The chicken dhaniwal and dal makhni were simply outstanding. Must mention about Chef Ram who took care of my dietary restrictions and made me my special dessert. Overall a fantastic and amazing experience at Saffron, would recommend to all.

Victor of numerous accolades and appreciation in the public eye, saffron is ever changing with it numerous highly successful promotions yet never failing to do complete justice to signature dishes such as The tandoori raan, lal maas, dal kandahari, classic home style chicken curry an so on.The 45 cover restaurant with its lush red walls laden with the exquisite gold leaf work of Ghanshyam Nimbark provides along with the food an opulent dining experience.

Visited this place with family and relatives. Being an oberoi / trident property , i had no second opinions about this place and it is given that the interiors and ambience would be nothing less than top notch. The servers were more than happy to recommend us the day's specials. I had paneer rasam and paneer khatta pyaaz , both were very different from the regular paneer dishes we get at our regular run of the mill - " mughlai ,continental , chinese restaurant " . The tastes were very subtle and aroma of each spice could be distinguished. A minor glitch was that they charged our credit card twice for the same amount which we got reversed the next day without any hassles . A thumbs up to Saffron .

Was at this place on my birthday and I would love to say this that they made My day... Outstanding food And exceptional service this is all what you need when you celebrating your birthday...<br/>Live instrumental music made it divine..<br/>As I was about to cut my cake, "tum jeeo hazaaro saal" played on santoor and sitar.. I still just can't explain what I felt like, at that point of time..and then they asked me for my favorite song so that they can play it.... I mean, this is called service!!

Awesome food, great ambiance and very courteous staff makes Saffron a must visit for all !!!<br/>Had ordered non-veg thali on chef's request; starters were mouth-watering but the main course was a bit disappointing.
Pratik Makhija
It is a nice quiet hotel when it comes to the architecture. Coming to saffron it's an amazing place to go if you want to have a good food. Dal was amazing and the best part was the service these people go an extra mile for you. I asked them for a cake as it was valentine's night even when the bakery was closed these guys arranged it for me. Must try is their dal makhni and lentil soup
Nitish Jaipuria
One of the best kali dals ive ever tasted!<br/>Also worth a mention is the smoked chickhen sabzi :)

Amazing hotel.. Worth a visit only for interiors.<br/>Saffron- a kashmiri speciality restaurant is a must visit for non- veg.<br/>Staff was extremely and guided through the prep. Chef personally checked on the order..<br/>Bakharkhani- the kashmiri roti and biryani are the highlights..<br/>Only disappointments is the serving size..
Vishal Kapoor
Trident at its best <br/>Great food <br/>Amazing interiors<br/>Half star less is only bcoz the the quantity if dal they serve n a bit delayed service...other wise it's not to be missed <br/>Fantastic is the word

atmosphere is quiet and very pleasant and service was average..food taste good but quantity is very less n ofcourse expensive. i would rather recommend oberoi.

What an experience ,well that's what you expect from trident !!!<br/>Had the most amazing lamb curry , Goan fish curry and daal paired with a nice <br/>merlot <br/>rounded off with melt in the mouth gulab Jamuns
Nitin Rai
The service was painfully slow... and the food was quite average.<br/><br/>The best thing was the deserts, rasmalai was the best I have ever had and the gulab jamun was also quite outstanding.

Saffron is a decent restaurant in a splendid hotel. We tried full course menu starting with appetisers on both veg/non veg side. Their Fish Tikka was especially impressive with a raw charcoal kinda taste but very delicious and melting. Main course had Lamb Curry, Butter Chicken etc which fared decent. Ambiance is well done along with comfortable seating and courteous staff. However, the place is kinda cramped with too many tables in a small space. It kinda feels like too much going around while you are having your meal. I had a secluded good seating but talking about the overall space, they should look into it. Live Indian classical music adds to the flavor but people with taste for such music will really enjoy their visit here.

Saffron is a perfect location for a quiet and a peaceful dinner in Gurgaon. This is the only place I have seen with a background music of violin and a perfect taste of food.<br/>The spices used in the food are perfectly blended and taste superb.<br/>The Dal Makhani and Kulchas are the perfect combination for the vegetarians.<br/>Not expensive for a 5 star but extremely beautiful.<br/><br/>Had a really good experience.
