Review The Friends' Republic - Gurugram (Gurgaon)

Great place to hangout with your friends. Pocket friendly prices. Yummy food with a lot of variety of snacks. The ambience is also very nice with good quality live music. Lots of DJ's keep coming here to play every week.

Really cool ambience, and the adjoining liquor shop usually has good stock. Among the rare places where you can find bottles like Jack Daniels Honey relatively easily. The food is really good, I usually order their roasted chicken. Menu is reasonably priced, and the quantity is ample too. It is surprisingly large after entering, and has a good seating capacity. Also safe for women, from what I could tell, so you can bring the entire gang over too. They have a projector in place for matches and the sort, and usually a DJ playing too in case you want to dance.
Piyush Khandelwal
A decent place for evening outs. The place is open air so make sure you go on a good weather day or in winters. The view of high-rise will keep inspiring you. The food is good to go but slightly highly priced but the prompt service and ambience covers it up. It's right in the middle to Phase 5, opposite paras hospital next to GTown warehouse so you can buy your booze and take it in. They charge Rs500 as cover charger. A must try on a busy day.

#ReviewsByAditti 26.04.2018 If places were clothes, Delhi could be the Hugo Boss clad big bro and Gurgaon, the sometimes Diesel/sometimes Levi clad "new in business but arrived nonetheless" younger brother ... So for all the swanky, glitzy, ritzy pubs and restaurants of Delhi, Gurgaon has the one of a kind Cyber Hub and Horizon Center... both exuding remarkable vim and verve... ... but then some days you want none of that !!! Some days one yearns to feel at home.. ... not necessarily AT home 😀 So that's where steps in a stellar concept of BYOB's/Ahatas, regaling the crowds of Gurgaon for ever so long now.. my first visit to one was in 2013 I think!!! So what's an Ahata really ? ... on the up and up it's a cost effective option where you can enjoy a drink with your friends minus the fare of a flashy pub... ... and still enjoy a happy evening. Amidst the so many options that line the streets of Gurgaon, #TheFriendsRepublic, the one I am talking about is a "me too" too..? Yes!! Bring your own Bottle ..? Yes !! Ahata..? Yes !!! So what makes this a standout when my choices abound... all within 5 kms of where I live.. This one to me is not just any other BYOB... .. to me it's a "Be Your Own Boss" kinda place... The place has an indoor/outdoor seating plus a covered terrace seating as well.... I witnessed the best fun crowd this side of town.. on a Wednesday evening... in the heart of the week, .. the place had people stepping in droves... the place was packed to the gills !!! I was also kinda relieved to see that there was a good number of women, some in all women groups too, having a ball..!! It felt safe, very safe. And yes they play very nice music.. it was a Sufi night yesterday and it was difficult not to pay attention to what the inhouse DJ was dishing out... Food is moderately priced and delicious.. actually no.. I think their food is better than a lot of other places... Of the three things that we ordered, the Chilli Chicken and the Mutton Barra were high on flavours and spice... loved both equally !! .. but the fish fingers could have been better.. the only thing I didn't enjoy yday .. At a cover charge of 500/- per head, a meal for two cost us 1415/- The drinks shop next to it has one of the better collection of premium alcohol ..and there is a cute Paan King outside as well!! The service staff is friendly but could work on being a bit more efficient while presenting the bill .. 😀 The place, high on activity, is noticeable from the main road itself. Kudos to Pankaj Bhatia/Ankush Kapahi/Neeraj Ruhil for they are doing a mighty good job with this one.. You cannot miss #TFR on Golf Course Extension Road.. btw they have another one close to Subhash Chowk I am told... as buzzing as this one.. It's time to celebrate Gurgaon... ... grab a much earned drink and a pocket easy bite and savour our evenings with like minded people.. ... because these are places which are best enjoyed in groups!!

The first happening place I hopped on after shifting to Gurgaon.. Amazing ambience and crowd.. Nice system of BYOB (of course from nearby liquor shop only).. Food options can be enhanced a bit.. But a must visit place for friends to hang out!! DJs plays rapchik and relevant tracks suited to events.. Keep rocking TFR!

Good BYOB place to go for a night party. It has good crowd and safe for girls to go in a group too. The food is a little pricey but the DJ is good and the overall vibe is very good.
Shobha Arora
Love this place. You can bring your own booze from outside and chill there. Great environment.
Divyanshu Ratawal
Nice place for a booze night with friends or close ones but remember to bring your own drinks.
Kavitha Bs
This place has cover charges n has to be paid by cash. Great food. Enthusiastic Dj, nice place to hang out.
Keshav Viswanath
This place is quite literally open to everyone. I saw couples on dates, friend groups and families all enjoying their food and beverages, music and dancing (and match screenings). The food was satisfactory. Service wasn't too slow, considering the number of people present. And there's a liquor store right outside and a BYOB (Bring Your Own Booze) policy inside. All in all, a good place to hang out with one and all :)

Name changed to Bootlegger Republic.. Its a simple machaan sort of place but attracts good genre of crowd unlike the usual ones.. They charge 500 Rs as cover charge
Animesh Gulati
Good food, good music and good ambiance. This is one of the few BYOB places where you can enjoy your evening
Gagandeep Siidhu

TFR is always on top of my list whenever I have to hangout with friends.. The hospitality, the music, the food.. and above all Mr. [100001977642069:Mehtab Sidhu] this place always gives me happiness.. and whenever I need to be with THE "HIGH"ness.. TFR is the place.. cheers..
Abhiraj Singh
It's good place, good vibes, good music. I would request you to take better care of the hospitality and servers who take orders. I was there at last night and I had to pay the bill for an extra item because it was a friend's birthday and I was not in a mood to get into some argument. But that doesn't mean I'll pay extra for an order which I didn't place and didn't eat. And after I asked the server to correct the bill, he started sharing his problems with the kitchen staff and the manager that they will deduct the payment from his salary and when I asked him to make me talk to the manager, he didn't want me to talk because that would cost him something. I could surely figure out an agony on his face. So I ended up paying some 400 extra which I shouldn't have. Please improve on such things

Coz the placed order took an hour to actually come to the table. When contacted the kitchen, got to know that the waiter never placed it. Ambiance is good Crowd is good But what's the need when we can't get the food in a restaurant

One of the happening place for Gurgaon nightlife. You can have fun with family till late nights.<br/>Quite amazing place for party lovers. <br/>Must visit this place if you are around.
Akash Pandey
It is probably the best THEKA (licensed drinking place) in town. The DJ is good only on weekends. It's better to so outside than inside. This way you can have the max fun. As the name suggest, the venue is good to hang out with friends. The food served is good but bit over priced. However, the food price is compensated with the warm staff.

Ambience: Excellent <br/>Service: Good<br/>Cost: Reasonable <br/>Food: Good<br/><br/>It’s a nice place to chill. A very lively environment and music is good too.<br/><br/>The place gives you a fresh feeling. It has a cooler installed and it’s so different from any other place. And since it’s BYOB, it makes it all the way better.

This is one of my go to restaurants when I am in the area. We have been here many times with friends/ The staff is super friendly and the food is delicious. The menu has something for everyone and everything we had till date has been delicious and perfectly cooked.

I have been going to this place almost every weekend now as i'm in love with it. The ambience, the crowd, the food and service, basically everything is very good that you'll never be disappointed.<br/><br/>Last weekend I went there. We took our own booze and there was a cover charge of ₹500 which was coverable which we paid and luckily we got a table, as getting a table here on weekends is difficult.<br/><br/>We ordered tandoori extra cheese pizza, egg noodles, peanuts chicken wings and tandoori paneer. The food was amazing, pizza was really good, now I have had almost all the variety of pizzas that they offer and all of them are amazing, egg noodles, chicken wings and tandoori paneer were equally good.<br/><br/>Special mention of the DJ who was playing that day, he was outstanding.<br/><br/>The only drawback is that this places gets closed by 11:30, so you'll have to leave by 12, otherwise it is a really nice place to party on weekends.
Mohit Arora
Nice place...with good vibes...the open seating adds to the charm of the place....u can sit with your friends and have fun....food is ok but overall ambience is good.
The Hungry Bird
Gurgaon party scenes!!! When u r catching up with your besties after a really long time, the place better ought to b fab!! The booze, the crowd, the setting, the food and the dj need to be awesome to call it an evening. <br/><br/>Post holi celebrations in Gurgaon all of my husband's friends zeroed down on the TFR to catch up on Saturday night. We reached around 9:30pm and buoooy the place was filled up almost completely. It's located in a little deserted area but once you enter you would need to make place for urself in that sea of people. We comforted ourselves at a corner in the upper deck to be able to have a good view of the place. 6 of us had whisky and the service was prompt despite the crowd which seemed to be a regular for the staff. The staff esp Vikas was super polite and made sure we had no complaints. We ordered peri peri chicken, mutton seekh, chilli paneer, dahi k sholey, bell pepper cheese rolls, fish and what not. The vegetarian bell pepper cheese rolls were delicious and lip smacking and finished in a jiffy. Must recommend to all. My non vegetarian counter parts were impressed with the non-vegetarian dishes as well, perfectly cooked chicken.. <br/>Coming to the music, dj Ishan was impressive, the playlist was perfect, the choice suited the crowd extremely well. We were grooving for long until midnight before the music was shit down. <br/><br/>Well I must say at a place like this the security was good enough, already spoken about the ambience and food and music which were great. I would recommend it to all fellow foodies to head out to this place once and you would not be disappointed at all. Go for a great evening with friends.
Harshit Saxena
Well it's a lively place and lives up to the hype with great music and crowd.<br/>They keep the crowd in check by imposing a cover charge.<br/>Liquor can only be purchased from the liquor store outside.<br/>Food is tasty and very well prepared.<br/>I went there for dinner party with my friends, we ordered peanut masala, tawa chicken, chicken supreme pizza and chicken dumpling (Momo's). Music there was awesome, dj, he was a nice person. You will get multiple options to sit, there they have open area, balconies, and Rooms. In short, it's a great place to hangout with your friends. You can go there by any means of transportation, there is no parking issue.

Went for a dinner for byob and they asked me to pay the cover charges. Well good.. Okay.. Then they swiped my card for one grand. Then, somehow the person who swiped the card told me the transaction has declined and didnt give me the receipt. Since i didnt receive any msg or ping of the cut, i wasnt that skeptical. Then he swiped again, and then the msg came with two transactions of a grand. I told them that it got deducted twice..then showed them the transactions in account statement as well. But they were least bothered and finally on high pleading they called up the manager and the manager (Mr pawan) told me that within 24 hours, i will receive the amount for the cancelled transaction. I asked him to show the batch settlement report where it might reflect, then one of their guards, in his haryanvi jaat voice, "na hoga aaj, kal aao". What the hell?? Was i asking for their money?<br/>People like them treat their customers as prisoners and dont even show some courtesy out of their cheats.<br/>Guess what.. It's been more than 48 hours.. And i have not received any refund back. I called up the manager.. He didnt pick up. And now i am filing a complaint against them.<br/><br/>Good luck cheating people.

This is surely a place to party with your buds and when you are in dire want of amazing food with alcohol of your choice. This is a BYOB place which best defines the ambiance here. <br/>Generally , I visit this place on Friday or Saturday nights and the ambiance and crowd is very good and groovy. Around after 9 , this place picks up pace and till you can chill , eat delicious food and drink your booze. It has an open outdoor seating which makes the experience very nice. <br/>Some of the bests include<br/>~Honey Chilly Potato , these are nice and crispy with onions and capsicums finely done. Nor too spicy nor much tasteless , these are very apt. <br/>~Bell Pepper Cheese Rolls , stuffing of cheese , onions and bell pepper and fried appropriately , these are very crisp and tasty. <br/>~Chilly Lollipop , delicious it was. Its preparation was very good with tangy taste. Much recommended.<br/>~Peanut Masala , this needs to description , just basic peanuts sauted with onions and capsicum! This is just delectable and perfect. <br/><br/>Service here is a bit slow since it is generally crowded but the food is worth the wait. <br/>PS : DJ here is very good!<br/>
Rohit Adlakha
The only rating I am giving is because music is awesome and owner is humble else service is very slow and bit over priced, though a nice place to hangout with friends
Audrey Sangma
Bad attitude of the staff taking orders..arrogant and rude...running helter skelter chaotic...if you can't manage to keep your calm with so much crowd why would you allow entry??DUH?? <br/>I hope you know you are not the only place in the area <br/>Cheers
Sindhoow Chowdhary
Good Place. Nice Music and Beautiful Ambiance <br/>Food is good and the crowd are so decent. Service is also so great. Overall a worthy Place to Visit. <br/>

People are crazy about this place even I used to be at some point of time but my perception changed about this place tonight when this incident happened. I being a pure vegetarian person ordered a soya chaap and enjoyed the dish when served but very unfortunately while having the last bite of it I felt something bone like thing in it and when I spit it out I realized that its a small piece of a bone and the moment I approached to ew owner and the staff complaining about it they came upfront covering the incident saying it's just a peanut like piece.. After confronting a lot they said they have done a big fault but can't do anything about it now.. I really felt helpless and angry about it... It's so demoralizing and disappointing that there is no respect to customer service these days... I don't understand why things are taken so casually... This place deserves a 0 for its poor service..
Anup Sisotia
Pathetic place, Haryanvi security sucks, everything over priced, worst experience of my life , they are stealing money from people , worse dj of Gurgaon
Sushmita
Basically a glorified dhaba..food was just ok.. n staff not at all courteous.. I don’t find any reason, overhyped..not going there again & not at all recommended..<br/>
Pahadi Foodie
A great 'BYOB' place, great ambience, soothing music, awesome crowd. It has a wine shop outside, from where you can bring booze. Usually there is no extra charge to enter, but if there is more crowd, then they will give you a 'minimum bill amount' of 500 bucks per person.. But it is worth it. You can also book a table here, they have special arrangement for birthday parties as well. Do not leave before 12, coz after the place gets crowded, you can see everybody dancing over the place. That's why.. they have a great ambience.<br/><br/>Do try their specials, they are must to have.
Akv31
Food is ok not that good as it is BYOB place. They have hired bouncers, who are very rude, they don't talk properly. They charge you a cover charge of Rs500 and let you in, even if they don't have seat inside. Initially it was very good, but as their popularity incresed they degraded their service and food.
Thelastscoop1
Amazingggly situated place that serves with wonderful experiences. This colourful place takes my heart away even in pictures. Food is excellent with top notch service. The best chap tikka i have tasted yet. Waiting To visit again. Highly recommended place. Prices are bit high. But it is worth hanging out there.
Aman Duggal
Went to this place many times but seems the taste and the staff courtesy is depleting day by day<br/><br/>Went last Friday with some friends, they took cover charges but there was no space inside to even stand staff was asking us to look for a place our selves and every staff who was waiting the tables were asking us to go to look around and wait for a place got some place to sit after 20 mins and then started waiting for the staff to take the order, staff was not at all courteous<br/><br/>Ordered Keema kaleji and chicken tikka, keema kaleji was good but the quality was not optimum chicken tikka was also up to the mark but food goes for a toss when u are not treated well
Hempriyabanga
A little off from the city lights but a perfect place to chill out with a group of friends. This one has a byob concept with liquor shop right next door. Keema bruschetta is a must try. Surprisingly Sunday nights are quite happening with inhouse Dj! Highly recommended
Augur
Been a long long time I visited an Ahata. Boy, they ve come a long way. This is one of them. After paying cover charges (500-redeemable for soft drinks and food) you enter a sort of open air night club. Pretty basic but nice atmosphere. DJ for the night was good. Service was worse than the atrocious food but one doesn’t expect them to be top class at BYOB places that thankfully still exist. I do intend to go again but will stick to only booze and peanut masala.

It’s a very good and pocket friendly place <br/>I must say that food was awesome and well cooked <br/>Must try place. <br/>Separate place available for family . <br/>Place offer great Dj’S . you can bring your own drinks 🍺 simply awesome place

Very nice place to hang out with friends and kids. Great setup, superb music, well behaved and helpful staff and excellent food. The kheema kaleji, mutton sizzler, tawa chicken, lime cilantro chicken, and more and even french fries are yummy. Definitely a place to frequent.
Mohit Bajaj
Decent byob to sit. I didn’t like the music though. Service was good. Food was nice not great. They have to learn to cook peri peri chicken. Overall decent place to sit and chill with friends.
Pragun Jain
The Friends Republic an amazing place for all the party animals in the town which is situated at sohna road, gurugram. Its totally a happening place. Ambience and services are really good. One can bring his or her own booze to drink and enjoy. It is open till late night. Had some snaks and it was good. A must visit place to party all night with your own booze.
Chandrika Nagesh
If you want to relax and catch a drink at a place with not very loud music. This is your place. Popular with college going and young working professionals. Very good food and music and also easy on your pockets.
Shital Ashish Chhabra
Cool place to hang out or chill....quite big n open place..good music...very good food...and above all u can take your own liquor inside...they will provide u soda ..ice n all...it rocks especially on weekends.....cover charge just 500 person (redeemable) on fridays n saturdays.
Avik Poddar
Liked the place!!! Okayish music and good food!!! <br/>Will I recommend this place to other people? Yes but not always. The service is extremely slow.maybe due to the fact it being a Friday night but still service was slow!! DJ was rude!!! Extremely rude!!! Overall I'll give this place 3 star!!!!
Riti Goswami
Wish I could give anything lower than this rating.<br/>Be ready to get beaten up, molested or maybe even raped. Highly unsafe place for the ladies, and even if u complain the management and the owners won't even care to help u out, instead they'll help the guy to run away.<br/>Cheap food and drinks - Yes, but comprising on safety just to save some bucks - Hell No!!!!<br/>Looks like a miny brothel being run by the management where they have just no problems with the guys doing anything to the girls.<br/>Visit at your own risk and be ready to come back being scarred.
Rohan Arora
Good Music, Good vibes, exceptional food perfect place to spend an evening with friends. Opens up till late so also a great place to head to for an after party!<br/>Definitely visiting again!
Pankaj Bhatia
No one can beat this one. Most happening place of G-Town. Unbeatable crowd. Rest their food and music make a perfect party place. Not to be missed.
Shubhrangshu Saha
I have been to this place once. Nice ambience, decent crowd and good music are the USP of this place. You have to buy booze from their liquor shop at normal rates (cannot carry your own) and pay an entree fee of 500, which is completely adjustable on your food bill. This is a good business concept as we usually end up spending more than 2-3 K on food and booze for two people on other places. Another advantage of this place is that it has a huge parking space. <br/><br/>Food - 3.5/5<br/>Music - 4.5/5<br/>Ambience/Crowd - 4/5<br/>Service - 3.5/5<br/>
Tarun Arora
Another Modern Day Ahaata of Gurgoan. The high prices and cover charge (yes cover charge out in desert) defines the kind of foot fall this place attracts. Food is average and might seem little overboard. If the place is packed the service gets badly affected. Saturday's nights are awesome with sa savvy crowd and music beats matching in that of a club. Another place beyond the boundaries of the city but worth a visit.
Karan Negi
Not like any other run of the mill fancy pubs we have in NCR....this place will definitely break the stereotype Delhi night life has been plagued with....grab your benches/ chair early as this place gets crowed in no time.....good food and great music offered here will certainly please you.
Gautam
Always been wary of visiting " Ahatas "<br/>Or Taverns as called in Europe but this one was recommended highly as the best in Gurgaon ! Ahoy so we reached with 2 other couple friends and my we were not disappointed at all ... bouncers at entrance , stamp on hand , 500 bucks entry which could be redeemed inside !!!! Lovely ambience , good music and a good crowd unlike what you expect in ahatas!!! We had a great time and after a few drinks we left but came later in the night!!!
Lakshya Singh Arya
This place is dope AF.....great food.... Cheese nacho, tawa murg, chicken tikka, all crazy good...... Ambience.,dj,mahol is superb..... Only issue is service.... Da waiter wont give a damn about u or ur table.... So buckle up for shitty service.... Otherwise really cool place to hangout nd dance ur brains out....
Paritosh Sharma
The place is good but it is highly overpriced., considering the location its too far & is located in outskirts. Food is good but the price is too high & quantity is very less. Good music collection but they play at a very high volume. Service is slow, they tried to cheat us with the bill too. As its just a simple drinking place they should not keep the paid entry system and one more thing I didn't liked was that stags are not allowed though we entered with help of few friends. On overall basis I wont be visiting that place again & will advise the same in my circle.
Naman Bhargava
Bouncers are threatening here and i would love to tell the owners that you made me and my family feel unsafe..thankyou for ruining our day....
Tandoormast#notapaidreview
Good weather and went here on insistence of friends, open area seating with byob option. What you end up saving on the booze gets compensated on the food, which is terrible and pricey. Everything we ordered was disappointing, the chilli paneer, chilli potato noodles, Indian etc. On top of it service was even more terrible and got slight better only after we bribed the waiter to give more attention. Music was somewhat good, and thats the only possible respite you may get from this place.
Shruti Sharma
This is my 6th or 7th time here and I like to come back! The food is simple yet very very good! It is well spiced and makes you feel like a real North Indian (unlike other places in the area). BYOB is a great concept when coming as a small group
Vrinda Nagpal
Fantastic place if you want to just sit and chill with booze you've bought yourself and great food! The music and the vibe is awesome too :D
Natasha
Went their on a friends recommendation. Finally a place apart from clubs which is open till 3-4 am. Great ambience, nice food, amazing music, slightly slow service as its almost full all the time. But overall great experience. <br/>Definitely visiting again 👍🏻
Ankita Banerjee
The dj plays really old songs. Like from 2010! Don't come for the music for sure. Food is good but music is real bad. They play aley re aley and all so you can imagine. Like thakele songs

Hello,<br/>I m the Graphic Designer. The owner of this resto Mr.Ankush & Anjali hired me as a freelance designer to design their logo and many event creatives for their facebook. But they didnt paid me a single penny in return of the work. They just gave me silly excuses and got thier work done for free. Its been more then 3 year i m requesting them.<br/>So i m using this platform to send message amongst free lance graphic designer. Never deal with people like them. Plz always ensure that people are not mean like them.

Not a place for group outing.. Hellish experience for guys. Overcharged for good for nothing services. Avoid visiting without a female friend.

Bad service, okay food, rude staff.<br/><br/>They charge cover randomly and escalate prices when you are in.<br/><br/>Shitty ambience. Only fans. No cooler no ac.<br/>The place is almost empty through out the evening

One of the worst places around, they will tell you where to sit even though there are plenty of places available which they claim are reserved, but no one ever shows up. Food stale, service poor.
Ashish Chandran
Went there on a friend's recommendation. The entrance was normal...as soon as we entered the place...it felt like a pub.<br/>Amazing crowd...nice ambience....and BYOB concept.<br/>The food was prepared well...do try their corn with salt and pepper...<br/>I highly recommend Friend's Republic...
Shirsendu Sengupta
Pretty nice place for BYOB restaurant. Ample amount of space with a pocket friendly outing. just purchase the drink outside the republic and have it in here.<br/>A butter chicken and Afghani a must try. French fries would definitely go with your drinks.<br/>But please don't visit on weekdays. They make you realise that, or the DJ player was not active, because music is the only thing that would rejuvenate you every second.<br/>Service... "Thumps Up" Good job.
Gaurav Mahendiratta
Very very poor service, server dont know where is the menu card, ordered a dish and it came after 90 mins. Poor food, returned the food, server gulshan was not at all helpful
Udit Chitray
It becomes happening only after 10PM. Didn't like food much, but the ambience is what makes this place. You may find this place just right for casual hangouts with friends.

Awesome Place... Great Ambience... Luv this place... <br/>Best place weekend parties. Been there couple of times with friends and office colleagues. Enjoyed a lot with live DJ, Dance n Masti.

I have to change my rating because you guys have really pulled through. The music is so much better now and the food has improved considerably. it just didnt seem fair to not update this one. Thank you ! its a welcoming change :) All the best guys !

Visited this place for the first time. Food was beyond my expectation so was the service. Grilled mushroom Peri-Peri were amazing So was pasta and lovely ambience. Highly recommended and definitely come again.

Its like any other BYOB place except for the pan shop out side which was a head turner . Music was a absolute disaster . No head or tail of whatever was being played by the so called DJ . His music might fit in for aerobic classes . <br/>Food is usually my focus area and the service. Never try the chicken curry here Malai tikka and the kebabs . Spices not cooked well and could feel the rawness . Pieces used in the curry were like ones used in chilli chicken ( surprising ) . The service guy mentioned thats exactly how it was served . ( true republic ) Not sure where do other dishes stand . By the time the time and kebabs came it was almost stone cold . All chefs seem to be in a hurry or may.be they still need to practice on their skills . <br/><br/> Not sure if BYOB places even bother about these reviews . <br/><br/> Not a great experience . Will I revisit : NO . Will I recommend this place : Big NO . <br/><br/>There could be some thing good which went un noticed . Atleast I didn"t notice one !<br/><br/>Best wishes . Cheers

Went twice here with friends. Nice place, good music, very basic ambience, average quality food, service not satisfactory, over charged bills, but a must visit place for everyone. Management needs to focus on customer care rather than counting bucks. Will visit again though . Cheers!

This place is more of a sophisticated ahata. Buy cheap liquor and enjoy the fresh air ambience.More of a winter going place .The food is good specially mutton barraah but DJ sucks at times. The serving crew is humble, hard working and known for quick service specially for the regulars. SASTA SUNDAR TIKAU

Ambiance and everything is pretty decent!<br/>The portion size was the bad part about the outlet especially there pizzas. A pan size(read less than the pan size) pizza for that prize doesn't make sense.

An awesome hangout place with your friends or colleagues on a friday night or on weekends. This low budget place will steal your heart with it's amazing crowd and Dj playing some great hits. They will take 500rs cover charge per person if you are going after 8pm. You can order anything with this amount. Before 8pm there is no cover charge it will be just the billing amount. Those who wants to drink have to buy it from the adjacent Discovery Wine Shop. You can't take your own liquor from any other place outside. Food quality and taste is great. I liked the concept of this place where so many scraped items has been recycled and modified to give some cool theme with a colourful aura! The nightlife here will make you go Zoom! Very economical and convinient place for those who love to party more often.
Aditi Dalal
The only good thing about this place is that it's a BYOB . Otherwise the food and music isn't that great . The menu doesn't have much to offer and even out of the options listed , they don't have half of them .
Vishal Mukhi
I went to this place with friends last night and it was a good experience with great ambience. Service was not upto the mark but food was good.
Neha Singhal
It is set up like any other BYOB place on Golf Course road.. fairly expensive and ordinary food..<br/>not serving dimsums was a huge let down for me.. everything we ordered - fish, chicken seemed to taste similar and boring.. there are much better BYOB places in gurgaon..
Karan Bhatia
This is a BYOB place st golf course extension which you would not even know exists looking at the entry. A cover charge of Rs 500 is unheard of in BYOBs at Gurgaon but believe me, this one is absolutely worth it. Most places like these have below par food. This is an exception. Great music , ambeince and delicious non veg starters. A perfect outdoor hangout in winters.
Sandeep Bara
One word verdict : Too much hyped<br/>Went there on a Friday evening and the place was full.<br/>We were asked for cover charge of 500 per person , which was a shocker for BYOB.<br/>Anyway we got a bench (very uncomfortable) and managed to request for cold drink, water and glasses after 20 minutes and in another 10 minutes they arrived<br/>Now the food: requested for menu like 10 times but didn't get any. On reco of the server we ordered tawa chicken which was good. For second dish he recommended tawa mutton and from there on it was all downwards. It tasted absolutely same except little expansive. The last dish we ordered was mutton seekh kebab, which was ok nothing to write home about<br/>The prices are atrocious: 2 coke , 2 bottles of water and three dishes costed us 2000. I mean really????<br/>Will I go there again: Probably not as there are so many better options like underground
Mon Amour
A BYOB Place located at the Golf Course Road. Built on quite a large ground area, I liked this place. The food was good. We had ordered the honey chilli potato and nachos and masala peanuts. The quantity was decent but yes it is a little costly.<br/>The only thing that put me off were the seating arrangements. They should focus more on making it a comfy place!<br/>All in all a good BYOB place to chill with friends because the view is pretty serene!
Vibhooti Negi
I heard alot about the place  but it was very very disappointing. service was pathetic, we got our food after 45 minutes  :(  it was a day spoiler actually.....Will not recommend it to any1, Gurgaon have so many better places den this........DISAPPOINTING

Visited this place for the first time. Food was beyond my expectation so was the service. Tandoori mushrooms were a killer. So was the aalo chaat. Highly recommended.
Rachit Sachdeva
This place will never disappoint you.<br/>I went to the place just to try something new and I have been recommending this one ever since.<br/><br/>The music is great, food is good too, BYOB of course and the best part is that it is open till late.<br/><br/>Birthday parties can be real fun.

Amazing place. One of the Best North Indian restaurant in the area,. The chicken tikka is delicious! The staffs are very nice people and the service is excellent. It's BYOB, and perfect for any occasion.

Nothing has changed, still fantastic. Packed with happy diners on a Saturday night. BYOB and enjoy a delectable meal for two without spending much. Great place and recommended too

A multi cuisine restaurant serves gigantic variety of Indian, Chinese, Continental cuisines, a lip-smacking scrumptious food which can lug anyone who has a craving for luscious food. An addition to this an extension has widen up till terrace which is undefined treasured experience. Fond of North Indian Food, Here is the place. A varieties of delectable kebabs along with mouth watering Indian breads coming directly from the Tandoor for the admirers of Indian Food.<br/><br/>An illustrious place with marvellous Electrifying Electronic Music , a miraculous place to enjoy the evening and night and swing on the beats of music and also take a pleasure to have a stimulating drinks with fabulous luscious Food and snacks and cherish the moments. The staff and the management is very convivial & amiable. This dazzling place boosts the voltage of the visit along with gratifying unforgettable moments

TFR rocks... Been there on Saturday night and had loads of fun.<br/>Great ambience, nice crowd, finger licking food, amazing music (dj Chirag), helpful courteous staff n manager... what else u need to have a good time...<br/>Must visit place if u want to have good time with ur friends....

A good place to chill with nice people around and pocket friendly food and drinks. The DJ is average but the staff is very cooperative! But the food is very good!
Shivam Mishra
Horrible horrible horrible experience. Went with my friends nd girlfriend to celebrate my bday. We witnessed 3 big fight in which people picked up bottles to hit each other. The main point is they allow stag entry's and I can witness all the fights between stag boys and they commenting on other people's wives / girlfriends. Do not go with any female. Cheap crowd. No management. Security guard takes bribes to get stag entries. Pleas do not go if u wanna feel safe.

What A Great Place !! Open Sitting With Good Weather And Loud Music Creates An Amazing Ambience !! Must Visit This Place !! Snacks Are To Good In Taste !!

I have visited this place on two occasions. The location and ambience is amazing with a relaxed feel far from the maddening city. Nice to visit specially if the weather is pleasant as. However the food is average nothing much to write about. I have had Afghani chicken, chicken tikka and chilly chicken here. All three were palatable but the standard is much like local takeaways.
Vipul Kalra
Really enjoyed our dinner here. Waiters were very knowledgable about the menu and gave great recommendations. It was also nice that it was byob. It is often difficult to find great restaurants that have good food but this place is an exception. Definitely will be back here soon and will be bringing friends.

If you are planning to watch the upcoming IPL matches at a place which has a huge screen, has a Live DJ, has a sensible crowd and where you can have your share of fun without any issues, TFR is the place to be. <br/>On top of that, There's BYOB! <br/>Too much to be true? It actually is.<br/>I visited The Friends Republic on the eve of India's match against Australia and the atmosphere here was sensational. The crowd was amazing and the DJ played some really cool music.<br/>the service was a bit laidback owing to a huge crowd. But that's okay!<br/><br/>We ordered chicken tikka, a veg platter, nachos and crispy corn. <br/>The food was fine but its the seating and the layout that this place captures your heart with.<br/>It's amazing! It's almost like going back to Goa and chilling in a shack. Much like hippies on Anjuna beach. Or even better, maybe!<br/>there's a wine shop next to the TFR. So, people can get their booze sorted from there!<br/><br/>A must try place if you are looking for some cool options to watch a match at!<br/><br/>Cheers!
Ajeya Singh
The Semi-final battle between India & Australia landed us to this place which is a big open air cum closed elevated first floor sitting (sideways open) place. It is also a BYOB place where you can bring your own booze and have it there. (It has an attached liquor shop next to it ). There is plenty of space for sitting and has a big screen where we watched the cricket match.<br/><br/>We ordered Veg Platter , Chicken Tikka , Nachos , Honey Chilli Potato and Fish. The Veg platter was huge with a good amount of Paneer,Soyachaap,Mushroom, Dahi kabab and Fried Onion/Potato and it tasted good. I was impressed by the quantity of that platter which I have rarely seen. Nachos was fine (just served with Salsa dip) and Honey Chilli Potato was good. Since I'm a Vegetarian ( by choice ! ), I cannot comment on the Chicken Tikka and Fish but as per my friend , It was fine.Overall, the food is decent enough. The menu has reasonable rates.<br/><br/>The service time was a bit on the higher side but I will definitely blame it to the over grown crowd due to the India-Aussie battle. Normally , places like these where you can bring your own booze might be seen as a "wild" place by many but the good thing about this place was that I didn't hear a single abuse or bad remarks by anyone even on such a heated battle. It was a mixed crowd with even families there enjoying the match. The ambience is good with an open garden type feeling with wooden sittings. There is also a first floor with a roof on your head but still an open feeling due to the sideways open type structure. <br/><br/>A good place to enjoy with your friends and families. The only thing you shouldn't expect is a complex and sophisticated place. It is not like that at all. It is more of a fun place to hangout. There was also an in-house DJ who would play music in between the ads ( Thank God !) and got the crowd dancing in the end.And the best thing is : We won ( Cheers!)
Shivam Rajesh Bhanot
It's one the best places to chill in Gurgaon.<br/>Decent crowd , nice music, nice food and BYOB , you can't ask for much. <br/>I think this place is going only one direction from here i.e. UP !!<br/>Keep up the good work guys.

Good place for big group, open space but food was pretty sad. Just a good place to hangout with friends and enjoy ongoing game on portable screen but dont go for food, munching with your own drinks yes.....

I had gone to this place with three of my friends when we had an instant plan to party. We went here just because of the BYOB scheme being allowed. We had gone on a Friday night so there was a cover charge coupon system wherein one had to pay 500 bucks per head. But I managed to convince the guy to just charge us 1000 for 4 guys though later on I had to pay additional 1500 cause we ordered a lot.<br/>I really liked the layout of the space it is in open. We climbed up the stairs and sat at the first level. Within starters, we got non veg platter which was way too delicious. We also got french fries, tandoori mushroom and Caesar's salad which surprisingly was also quite good. Coincidentally, there was a live screening of cricket match going on as well along with a live DJ. This is very good place and even it is very safe for women. Will surely recommend this place to all.

Went for a colleague's farewell on a Thursday. The place was quite empty but I found the place pretty chilled out. Nice and quick service maybe it was not even 30% occupied. Food was pretty good. Peri Peri chicken and fish is a must try! Cya soon!!!

My second BYOB experience courtesy of butterflies flying out my wallet when considering where to hang out.. :-)<br/>Friends Republic checks all the boxes and gave me a pure 'good' experience keeping ambience , service and food in mind. <br/>We were seated at the tables on the first floor and had a weird start to the evening when we sent back the Garlic owing to the taste of obviously old bread; the order was replaced soon enough but was an unnecessary frown on the evening. :-(<br/>Made further orders for French Fries, Peri Peri chicken and Fish Tikka. To be honest, the food is not the main draw for me here cause there is nothing spectacular about it, at least for me.<br/>The ambience is pretty relaxed and minimal. The service was again, up to par but so special as to make you notice it as one of the strengths of the establishment.<br/>Undoubtedly, if u have a budget crunch and bunch of buddies in the same boat who just wanna hang and are not extra finicky about the finer details of the restaurant, then Friends Republic is the place for you. Otherwise, I would recommend Route 69 as it is a better BYOB outlet IMO.<br/><br/>Peace

I have been to many BYOB in Gurgaon but this is certainly the best be it the music, food or the ambience. It's a must visit the only drawback being that it's on the Golf Course Extension Road and is a little far off. We orderef chicken tikka, fries, chilly potato and hara bhara kebab all of which were equally good. Their ambience deserves special attention as they have 3 different options to sit. The best being the platform above the indoor seating. Would highly recommend this place.

Location is quiet good on main road . Good <br/>food specially tangari kabab.. service is also fine .. Best thing is u can bring your own booze... Must visit place ....

The place is a total chiller for friends....as the name suggests....great services....great food....great environment....<br/><br/>It's has the goa feel right in gurgaon....u can't just miss this place. I visited once and I haven't stopped coming here since then. Main attractions are Wednesdays and Saturdays. 😊

This place is a pure bliss. An open area place with live music grooving the guests and ample amount of seats for small group of friends to large ones. They also have tables under the hut - like structures, which usually are reserved for large groups. If you truly wish to enjoy to the fullest here, the night is the time to be. One good thing about this place, is the B.Y.O.B. (Bring Your Own Booze) scheme. For this very reason, it might be amongst the rare places that facilitate this option. This place has a totally hysterical aura in it. One just forgets the reality and brings out the kid within.<br/>The food is just amazing, prepared in a very well manner and presented the same way. This place has really maintained it's standards very well, which makes it obvious for more and more people to visit and cherish their happy moments.<br/>The staff, extremely friendly. That's all I'll say.<br/>Cost ? Go and find out yourself.<br/>I just cannot wait to get back here to the soonest.

Always heard of BYOB but never experimented until yesterday. A friend’s birthday and a random visit to The Friend’s Republic in half drunk state.<br/><br/>A small park with a tiled pathway, sufficient sitting arrangement to conduct a whole event, colorful furniture, and amazing playlist with Bollywood, Punjabi, and English songs in high volume to enjoy liquor and smoke. The food is little spicy but appropriate for my palate. The service is good and the pricing is reasonable.<br/><br/>The Friend’s Republic is a destination to get high with your friends.
Kaiser Amin
Amazing place. Since it's nearby my work place we often tend to go there.<br/>In winters a must start would be nothing but Nachos with Hot Salsa. I'm loving it.

Beyond brilliant space - especially the two corners of the first floor seating that are reminiscent of that shack in 'Dil Chahta Hai' where the trio view the sunset from in Goa. <br/><br/>The ambience is super mellow, with a garden like spread out seating on the ground and lounge like seating on the first. The whole space is open to the elements on all sides but on the first floor they do have a roof.<br/><br/>The BYOB concept is in practice and rather successfully too. The music is a blend of Bollywood and Sufi, which is pleasingly relaxing. The food is basic and a tad on the spicier spectrum for me. Th service is decent as well.<br/><br/>A good economical space to spend an evening with friends.

So just woke up and the first thing I thought was of reviewing this place.<br/><br/>Had a great time last night (only because of the occasion and people with me) , but it would have been greater if the staff was better and cooperative.<br/><br/>Starting from allocation of table, we asked a for couch table but they didn't give us by saying it's meant for 20 ppl and later it was given to a grp 6-7 ppl only (we were 9) <br/><br/>The food service was slow and even the billing was also wrong.<br/><br/>Last but not the least the DJ arrived at 9:30 and just played a preburned EDM disc and want taking any requests.<br/><br/>The 2.5 rating they get is only because of the decent pricing , ambience and food quality.
Chax
This is probably and unarguably one of the most unhygienic restaurants of its kind and league in the planet!<br/><br/>We were there recently and for a moment, lets just forget about the delayed order taking and even worse time to get the food despite requests that they were a few hungry kids in our group.<br/><br/>What's most appalling was the hygiene elements. For instance, for one of our dishes and after much following up, when we got out Tandoori Chicken, it was almost cold. When we complained, the waiter nicely "palmed" the dish to check how cold it was. And after a a howl of protest to have it changed, he reluctantly took it back to the so called kitchen counter. Guess what next! The manager who supervises the place, actually took a little bite off the dish too check how cold the dish was and then asked the staff to have the same one reheated in the tandoor until he realized we were right behind him!! And no hint of apology! And there a couple cats savoring over some leftovers nearby!<br/><br/>Overall, disgusting standards. Some of us got sick the next day and is a pity, places like these function with impunity to basic health and hygiene standards!<br/><br/>Avoid this place under any circumstances! And if you can't, do not take kids/children along - surely they don't deserve this !<br/><br/>Aside to Zomato - why is there no zero rating possible?

A typical byob shack adjacent to a wine shop. Well built area with a good number of seatings on level 1. <br/><br/>Pros- Out in the open, fresh breeze from fields behind, is truly awesome. Will surely come here again in winter. Loud music edm was playing, so it was pretty good fun. <br/><br/>Cons- Food quality sucks. Nachos was the only item we liked from the total 3 things we ordered. Tandoori chicken was not fresh, the coriander chutney was tangy(smelled rotten). The peri peri chicken was something we found just about ok, funny why a dried lifeless garnishing was placed even on the dish. Last, but the worst, chilly chicken, it was completely rubbish. A speciality south indian restaurant can cook better chilly chicken than what they made. For food i rate them 1/5. Giving 1 only because mayonnaise with nacho was fresh. Also food takes good 45 min to come. Wonder why such a long time for the kind of food which eventually arrives. <br/><br/>Safety- 3/5. Not too sure if they have checks in place to contain situations while they are brewing up. We had a loud mouth group of 3 guys, which eventuality got quite high and started using foul language. Pretty uncomfortable situation when someone is with ladies.<br/><br/>They charged cover charges Rs500 saying live DJ will play, which eventually played but was just about ok. Nothing great about it if u ask me. Cover charges is a trap considering the bad food quality. <br/><br/>I think the management should quickly do something about food quality.

This is best BYOB joint in Gurgaon!! This place is fantastic with vibrant young crowd hopping in on Weekdays & Weekends for drinks, non conventional food and amazing music played by various in house DJ's. The management is awesome and always available at the place, Cherry on the cake is responsive service as you don't expect to have good service from such places but we never had any complaint so far. No wonder we pay visit to this place every fortnightly or so. I'm especially fond the preparation of Dahi Kebab's. Once you are in you cant stop yourself tapping your feet on the music. Thanks TFR!! Cheers :)
