Review Sagar Ratna Restaurant - Gurugram (Gurgaon)

Ankit Wadhera
Located at 2nd floor of City Centre Mall Gurugram. This restaurant provided quality South Indian food. We recently visited here and tried Masala dosa, Dahi vada and kulfi in sweet. Masala dosa was crispy and aloo stuffing was very well cooked. Along with masala dosa variety of chutney (coconut, mint and tomato) and sambar was served. Dahi vada was refreshing, but quality can be more. Staff was very professional and attended us very well. Overall great place to enjoy South Indian cuisine.

It is great place to enjoy South Indian cuisine and we love idali chat and paneer dosa.

Sagar ratna is the best if u love south indian food and they never disappoint. The taste the food all are just amazing. Food taste and Hygiene Level: The served food was hot, fresh with accurate spice level. I had plain dosa, medu vada with sambar, chutneys and gulab jamun. The hygiene level of food met expectations. Food plating: Simple level of platting. Staff : Helpful and Polite Staff Cleanliness Level : Well kept with cleanliness and well organised seating arrangement. Affordability: Ranges from medium to high dish pricing. Peak Hours : often crowded on lunch and dinner on weekends. Less crowded in weekdays. Wheelchair Assistance: Located in City center Mall, Gurgaon, mall provides wheelchair assistance, talk to a person at the reception. Kids and Elder Friendliness: The food served is on accurate spice level. Sambhar has a pinch of spiciness to uplift it's taste.

My relationship with this brand has lasted more than 20 years, yet I have rarely been disappointed. Their food is fresh, delicious, authentic, and cooked very well. Even their North Indian and Chinese dishes are top-notch. The restaurant's take on the 'Mushroom Masala' dish was so unexpected that I had nothing but praises. The mushrooms were cooked to perfection, and the 'masala' in the dish actually referred to its dry gravy prepared in mild spices that really tasted as if home-cooked, and not like a spice-heavy, overpowering gravy. Reasonable prices, too.

This place provides the best comfort food. South Indian options are great. I always have the sambar vada or the dahi vada. It's refreshing. Try the sizzlers too. You will like it.

Visiting this place since childhood with family and still love it. Love the Mysore dosa and vada sambhar, my all time favorite from this place.

I've been visiting this food chain since I was a kid and this never fails to impress me. I always like the vibe of this place and definitely love the food even though I'm not a huge south Indian food fan
Ps you can order Chinese as well here

Sambhar was a bit extra salty and serving quantity was also too less. Had to ask it thrice again for completing a meal. Uttapam was okay in taste. Mysore masala dosa was good. Filter coffee was also good.

After enquiring about restless sambhar hotel person was teaching about how sambhar make

Ambiance 4

Waiters service 4:5

Test 1

Rudeness 5 out of 5

Ordered rice idli and filter coffee, loved it, idli was soft and was accompanied with sambhar, coconut chutney, tomato chutney and pudina chutney. Filter coffee was great in taste and was as expected. Overall good experience! Last but not the least service was super quick!
Swad_Sutraa
Really good restaurant with great ambience and food. We went for a family lunch and were really happy with their service.

One thing to take care about there is You should ask them to prepare all your stuff in less oil/butter. Otherwise its very oily. Specially the paneer dosas. Filter coffee and buttermilk were authentic and tasted very good.

They offer you a South indian Paan at the end of your meal which i didn't like at all.
Karnika Kanwar
Great South Indian food. Their sambhar is always so fresh! Must have their masala chaach and filter coffee
Shikha Agarwal
Good one for south indian food. Its a big chain and has its own standards which is good.

Ambiance - 4/5 not very good, just okay
Food- South Indian is good and authentic dont like the north indian here
Quantity- 5/5 Ample amount of food
Worth - 4/5 As per the brand name its okay, otherwise slightly higher.

What a amazing north and south Indian food, great place for catching up with good food..nice arrangements.. well behaved service staff. One should visit with friends and family..

Value for money ! Curtious staff ! Good food !

Eve teaser staff, not apologetic at all.. horrible experience ..
Not once, not twice, but 3 times this happened with one of the guy in their staff... They need to hire educated people
Juhi Rastogi
One of the finest outlet for ordering South Indian delight.... May it be taste, price, hygiene or anything... This has got some seriously excellent food.
Bhawana Yadav
Do try their idli chat. It's worth it.
Also their fusion dosas are worth a shot, or other south indian delicacies. I didn't try the north indian dishes so can't comment for that section of many. But rest assured, you will get every south indian dish in best taste and presentation.

I loved the food, they can improve in their services though. Waiters were to be reminded twice for the orders as the place was full and they were concentrating more on how to accomodate more guests than to serve the existing one.

Overall good experience and will definitely recommend it to all.
Abhishek Chauhan
Pros: Courteous staff and quality of service, swift servicing time, decent cutlery, nice tasting food and seems like authentic South Indian food

Cons: Sambar didn't feel it was fresh, felt like it has been used since morning and has gone through repeated cycles of heating, cooling and re-heating, that was my only concern

Went here to satisfy my south Indian food craving. We ordered:
Vegetable cheese dosa
Onion uttapam
Vegetable masala rava dosa
The food was good in taste. Service was okay.

Sagar ratna has always been my go-to place whenever I am craving some good south indian food! Their podi idli is something that I really like!!
Prem Singh Rawat
The pure vegetarian restaurant Sagar Ratna is popular for thier south Indian food but they also serve north food as well little bit touch of Chinese food. A simple and décor ambiance and they using steel crockery like our home🤗

Every restaurant has their own speciality so I ordered masala dosa it's comes with fresh coriander coconut chutney, red chilli coconut chutney was awesome and sambar 😋
We were also had biryani which was balance in taste and rice papad.
And we tried their sweet summer treat cold coffee which was ok.
Will be back and try their ghee podi masala dosa and vada pav 😉
Vicky Rocks
Tried their assorted idli platter and Rawa masala dosa. Idli and sambhar were up great . Their chutneys add to the taste . However , they bought us burnt Rawa dosa and when we complained they told us it's crisp not burnt . However , after insisting they changed the dosa. Then, they bought us a soggy dosa and told us u wanted it not to be crisp. Their manager was rude and not Willing to understand the difference between burnt and crisp. Try their other outlets.

Very poor experience. Firstly this place is not soothing at all plus the food is expensive. The staff members are not polite at all and all food we ordered didn't seem fresh and was all stale. Upon asking for replacement they nodded off and said that it's all fresh and can't be replaced as you have eaten a bite From it. Very disappointed

Worst place to be there. If you still want to go don't forget to bring rotis with you because they couldn't provide rotis even after 30mins. Worst service. They provide you feedback form quickly rather than fulfilling the order on time.
Personally loved the dosa here. Great service and staff. Would recommend mysore masala dosa from here. I tried the spring roll dosa from here but didn't like much.

Very poor quality of food.Pulao taste was very bad ,it seemed that it has been cooked three days ago.Curd offered was very sour. Taste if sweet dish was also very bad.It was not fresh.

Recently i went to one of my favorite South indian restaurant. Since i was a little kid i used to come here with my family.
So this time i tried some new dosa like cheese dosa and chhetinad dosa.
Chettinad dosa some in 2 flavour one with spicy red colour and 2nd one with greenish colour flavour
Both served with amazing flavourful aloo masala.

Cheese dosa was also too good.
It was loaded with fresh veggies and lot's of cheese. I am craving for this again😁.

And for dessert i tried rawa kesari which is like north indian suji halwa but trust me it very tasty. Strong flavour of clove and kesar coming out of it.

They also have good range of mocktails. So i had this green apple mojito and one badam milk.

The menu of Sagar Ratna is full of South indian and north indian cuisines. i appreciate the Dosa segment, they have a wide variety of Dosa and south indian cuisines. i ordered the signature Dosa and sweets, i like the taste and flavours along with good presentation. The dessert segment is short but i appreciate the quality and taste provided.

I work for Zomato Gold Sales Process and have heard customers from Delhi-NCR giving me feedback over call for Sagar Ratna's Dosas many-a-times. Due to my busy office timings at B.P.O company , Iam unable to visit Sagar Ratna,Defence Colony yet. But, this morning i ordered online Mysore Masala Dosa from one of their outlets in Gurgaon-PVR City Centre Mall,MG Road. And Iam nothing but absolutely estatic after munching .
Keep going guys! You are great. Will definitely visit your home outlet at Defence Colony,South Delhi soon.
As we all know sagar ratna is famous for its south indian cuisine so I thought of having something from here.I would give 5 stars to them for their service and ambience and would give 4 stars for the food that I ordered. Though all chutneys were very great but the dosa was normal. It had less aaloo masala in it and was less spicy.
Being the most authentic 100% veg restaurant in cyberhub Gurgaon we went ahead and had
Butter masala dosa
Tandoori platter
Ghee roast masala dosa
Watermelon juice
Bengaluru badam milk
The presentation was quite good the quality of dosa stuffings and butter ghee were extremely high the connect of tandoori platter and taste of it was built with a great mindset the content was more as assumed it successfully fulfilled the stomach and were superb in taste I guess ambience doesn't need much explanation because cyberhub itself is a great place to watch there best part was their drinks most authentic fresh and fascinating juiced were made and presented as the quality improvisation is not as such needed It's already fulfilling the best taste in town

MG Road Sagar ratna is so far the best in Gurgaon. They have really good south indian and various other options as well
Must have their Rava dosas and dahi vada with Uttapam. The upma is also nice

Service 5/5
Food 5/5
Ambience 5/5

It was served hot and so good.
Gulabjamuns were so soft, fresh and hot that it tasted so good.

Let's Talk About Food Only
Sagar ratna is my favorite brand if i think about family food and south indian food.

Badaam milk was certainly the best one could taste and totally remind of the home made food.
Cheese masala dosa was so heavenly cheesy. It was fusion dosa for me. Amazing desserts to end with gulabjamun was so good and served hot.

It was certainly the best if someone wants to go to taste south indian food.
Preeti Singh
Sagar Ratna has the most flavoursome South Indian food.

Amazing south indian cuisine food with a great range of dosa and sambar vada options to choose from.

Hepatic staff and really fast service!!
Prerna Banga
Definitely a must go place for lovers of South Indian cuisine. They always get it just right. Quick service, delicious dosas, and sambhar that it's quite tasty make me go back to it.
Gaurav
It was authentic. Dahi Vada had the exactly same taste that you’ll find all around regardless of the Place/outlet.

Quantity of Executive thali was good enough to be consumed by single person. Restaurant was under construction however thats fine if you want to have good food and don’t want to compromise with food quality. Will surely visit here again !!

Been there today for lunch, ordered dosa and vada. Sambhar was really nice, staff was friendly and serves food within 10 mins. Good joint...

I've seen this place couple of times inside the City Centre Mall, on the top floor have always seen a number of people sitting inside having dosa. Got a change to go here with my brother and his friends as all of them are super found of Dosas. Like the name says "Sagar - Sea or I would say huge" they have a number of Dosa varieties in their menu I've always know Dosa's as Masala or Paper or Plain. After like 15 minutes of hunting dosa from their menu

Items Ordered:

- Butter Masala Dosa
- Rava Masala Dosa
- Mysore Dosa
- Medu Vada
- Idli
- Mysore Pak

What would say I about all the dosa, I had a bit of almost all the dosas we've ordered all of them were just lip smacking all I can say is amazing, Mysore Pak is something I would say everyone should give it a try.

Paper masala dosa is awesome and worth try...
The idli is unmatched...
Best in South Indian food.....
Want to come again and again for dosa...

It's famous for its South Indian Food. I tried fried idli and chettinad dosa there and totally loved them. The red chutney and sambhar were amazing. The best part is they have no restriction on the amount of sambhar and chutney. You can always ask them to refill. A decent place with nice ambience ,quick service and polite staff. Would love to visit there again.

I really like south indian and this place never disappoints me.I went there for a lunch and tried uttapam. I really loved it.
The best part is their sambhar and chutney.( no restrictions on quantity).
I never leave the place without having filter coffee.Being the coffee lover i really liket aroma and taste.

I used to be a frequent at Sagar Ratna till few years back. So this time decided to stop here for lunch. We ordered Rawa onion masala dosa. Was glad to find that they have maintained their old standard and dosa was really tasty. However, found the Sambar average. Service was reasonably fast. Sitting area is decent. In past I have tried other variety of dosas and lemon rice and found them tasty too.
Devika Gupta
Sagar ratna is a well know restaurant for South Indian cuisine of best quality and flavour. And it does justify that with it's food. Had this amazing spring roll dosa which had just perfect taste. The sambhar was delicious as well. The ambience was also very soothing. Had a good experience there.
Sameer Virmani
Had lunch at this location on a Monday afternoon with a friend. We ordered Curd rice, Mysore Onion Plain dosa followed by Filter coffee. Curd rice was delicious, served cold, topped with pomogrenate and mixed pickle. Mysore dosa was well cooked though sambhar was sweet for my liking. The meal ended with filter coffee which is one of the best things at Sagar Ratna with nice aroma.

Good place for vegetarian loving family. The set up is nice food is good and priced reasonable. We tried lemon rice it was quite good.would visit again with vegetarian friends

We went here for a casual South Indian breakfast, the quality of the food was great, but the guy who's taking the orders messed up with the orders totally, wish they could have some attentive staff.
Abhishek
Ambience: This place was called Shree Ratnam earlier (guess acquired by Sagar Ratna) and has grown old with less lighting, unlike all glittery and bright restaurants.
Staff: seems to be courteous but can have more smiles around (rarity these days).
Menu and spread: the spread has both mix of South India (guess Kanandian yes there is a taste and prep difference in taste of Andhra, Tamil and other South Indian states) and North Indian delicacies. Pricing is OK 400-500 pp.
Taste: Felt taste and quality difference between legacy Sagar Ratna restaurants (comparison Def. Colony outlet) specially Dahi Vada.
Overall it is a good to go place not must if you are looking for same taste and quality of a typical South India based outlet.
Subhash Bhatt
I love there South Indian, Everytime when I have cravings for South indian food I visit them , pocket friendly rates good service and authentic South Indian taste .

No never .Curd Rice is Literally curd rice ..Chilly Dosa means Red paste Dosa . Explains why The place is always Empty . No standards as per Sagar Ratna chain .Awful in short
Revati Agnihotri
Overall experience was pleasant.
The idli chaat and sagar paneer special is a must try.
However, the rava dosas ordered weren’t very crispy as expected. The taste was good however the dosas weren’t as per expectation.
Another suggestion to the team would be to add a one liner description of the dishes so that the customer would know what they will get. Or the waiter can inform the customer about the ingredients.
Dushyant Kumar
The quality even after a wide spread chain n years is maintained like a legacy.
True to its name, a Ratna for South Indian food. QUALITY n TASTE excellent and to top it up is Zomato's on time delivery.
Ordered few dosas, crisp fresh n hot. Only CON was the quantity of Sambhar, could have been more.
Abhinav Jha
Brief: Safe option when in the mood for South India, Dine-In recommended over delivery

Here was my order list:

1. Rasam with Papadam
2. Idli + 2 Vadas
3. Ghee Roast Masala Dosa
4. Gulab Jamun
5. Kulfi

The south Indian dishes were very well done, there are ample of accompaniments, and unlike some of the more err., gentrified chains, they won't charge you extra for replenishing your chutney or sambhar (Ketchup anyone?)

The gulab jamun was surprisingly good. The kulfi was another story however, with a frosty exterior, I could almost see the white flakes which had been brushed off the top. On asking for a replacement, I was informed all the kulfis will be the same, but they did deduct it from the bill. Hence the imperfect rating.

Will recommend this for quick fixes for your South Indian (Food) urges. Decent price point

This time Sagar Ratna didn't disappoint me. I had south Indian Thali and Rawa Dosa Combo, each and every item in both the orders were great in taste. The staff was courteous and the ambiance was good too. Thanks for the good south Indian food after a long while. I hope they keep on doing the good job.

Arguably the best south Indian restaurant in gurgaon. Amazing sambar and chatni to go along with the scrumptious idlis and dosas. Great taste service and ambience.

The worst place in DT City Centre. I went with my family and ordered Idly Chat, Idly, Dosa and Schezwan Noodles and Lime Soda. We had to return Idly (served uncooked), Dosa (it seemed Masala was not fresh), In the name of Schezwan Noodles red coloured noodles were served which we didn't returned, but threw away and lastly Lemon Soda, which neither had lemon nor Soda. Plus service and presentation was at -1 level. A strict No to visit this place. A total waste of money and time.
Trippin' Ullu
A quick bite after a small shopping trip to DT city. So Ullu hopped over at sagar ratna on the 2nd floor of the mall. The first thing that hit Ullu was the stale smell this place had but quickly got over it with that very welcoming smile by the waiter who offered some water. Ullu asked for kerala buttermilk instead :) and went on to order a ghee roast podi dosa and vada sambar 🖤
The buttermilk came in pretty quickly and was very refreshing. With the right amount of salt and ginger. Topped with freshly cut cilantro. The dosa and vada looked extremely fresh as they were brought in. Thankfully not a re-fried vada which most of the places serve. Dosa was crispy just like how Ullu loves it. Sambar was piping hot and flavourful with right amount of vegetables. Ullu has a weakness for coconut and had 4 Katories of coconut chutney. Can you imagine how yum it was!
So 3 stars for the stale smell and an extra bit of salt in that dosa. As podi already has salt and it just added to the salt in that batter.
Manisha Kochhar
I had ordered 1 dosa and 1 daal vada last night. But instead they delivered dahi vada. My son had to sleep hungry as he does not like dahi vada.

Sagar Ratna is a must go if you are a south indian food lover . They provide with one of the best dosas and other south indian delicacies.

I went to Sagar Ratna and ordered a Rawa masala dosa and veg uttapum . Rawa dosa was as crisp as it should have been. Had a good quantity of masala inside. Sambhar with it was also nice . Uttampum on the other hand was very filling , enough for one person to have his fill. It had all the Veggies and looked colourful. It was heavy too.

The ambience of the place is good. One can go with their family and enjoy the south Indian cuisine

Good to have Sagar Ratna back at DT City Center ... had idli chaat , uttapams , rava masala dosa and butter plain dosa.
The service was slow today being crowded on a Sunday.
The food is getting nearer the old gold standard...
Will definitely be back!!!

This was my first visit. My parents had earlier been to their Dwarka outlet and that was pretty good with both the service and the taste of the food. The ambience had a typical south Indian restaurant look with white lights, rose wood furniture and steel plates and cutlery. They serve South Indian, North Indian and Chinese. But, as it is famous for South Indian cuisine. So, we decided to go with it. Ordered one Mysore paneer dosa and one masala dosa. The service was pretty slow and we waited for at least half an hour before we were served with 3 types of chutneys, sambhar and Dosa.
The quantity was good but the taste was average. The waiter made sure if we needed a refill ( for Sambhar and Chutney).

Order masala dosa combo which comes with masala dosa and dahi vada single. Masala dosa was excellent but dahi vada was just average. Service was good. Overall good experience.

You just cannot say no to Cheese Dosa and Filter coffee. The taste of amazing sambhar and tomato chutney gives you the reason to visit again n again. Friendly staff and as usual South Indian food is easy on pocket.
