Review 48 Plates - Gurugram (Gurgaon)

Shivom Varadarajan
Very sober blue & white decor, extremely courteous staff & quick service along with a very wide selection of exotic cuisine options from all over the world makes this a very appealing choice for those weekend brunch/lunch plans. I ordered the tofu oriental stir fry on noodles as seen in the photos below. Although the portion was a little smaller than what I expected, it was very light on the palate & rich in flavour. 5 on 5 for the food

Ambience: A mix of blue and off white, with small square pictures adorning the walls. Comfortable seating, with French music playing softly in the background. Clean too! Food: Quantity is good, so is the taste! Must try their Ramen bowl, Veg Casserole, and their Fish served with vegetables and mashed potato. For desserts, their lemon cake is delicious! Just the right amount of tang of lemon. Staff: Well mannered, wearing aprons and help in serving you your food. Will I recommend big groups? Yeah! Kid friendly? YES! Is alcohol served? No! Will I recommend this place? Absolutely! Will I come here again? DEFINITELY!

It's a newly opened place in cross point mall. The staff is very well groomed, professional and courteous. Ambience is so subtle yet sophisticated. Definitely a good place for family dinner/lunch. The food is served using undoubtedly fresh vegetables so it's obvious that they use good quality ingredients . I have tried veg ramen with tofu. The shitake mushrooms, spring onions, carrots and broccoli were so fresh that added a rich taste to the dish. So it's a Must go if want to try a decent meal and try something new.

I love their biriyani, especially Dindigul chicken. I love this place because of their commitment to South Indian Flavours. It is more than dosa and idli. I tried kizhiparotta, it would have been better if they added more chicken than egg. I have also tried fish mango curry. But that was slightly disappointing as it had only coconut milk flavour. They also have good vegetarian options. This is the one of the places for me whenever I crave for south Indian food. Must try whoever loves South Indian food, especially western coast

Have ordered Sambar a year or two back. It was good. And yesterday (30/aug/23) it was like the 'north indian sambar. Too much tamarind, and bit watery. Also Virudhunagar is spelt wrong

I ordered paneer Chettinad, parotta and appam from 48 Plates and liked all three items. Chettinad wasn't over spicy but was full of flavours, partita was good but could be improved a bit more and appam was really nice, it had mild sweetness which was perfect. I hope you will not decrease the quality the way restores usually do. would love to order again sometime.

Great food preparation in terms of taste and quality. The portion sizes are not huge, just enough for one person. Great dessert options to choose from as well and they do those amazingly as well. Staff is great and knowledgeable about the dishes. Must try the place if you are in the area!

Visisted this place for a saturday afternoon lunch! The place is beautiful, staff is super sweet, menu is super varied and lot of interesting options for non vegetarian lovers!
We ordered a casserole with their homemade bread, a poached pear salad and a bread pudding kinda dessert made of croissants!
The dessert i would say was average, but the other two dishes were so so so amazing! I think i can just have that salad for all three meals!
Will visit super soon to try out more things!

Brilliant anniversary special menu with superb service. I would like to add that this place will remind of a cafe in any European city. The music, decor, and the presentation is all top class. Great job guys. Love the boutique place of this place.

Been here twice, and I loved just as much as I first came here. Must try their ramen bowl, and their fish with veggies and boiled potatoes! The ambience is soothing accompanied with soft music. I do recommend to come here with your family and friends.

It's rare to find a restaurant on which pretty much everything is fantastic. Ordered the roast chicken, Shephards pie, goan chorizo, claypot chicken and the sticky dare pudding. Couldn't fault a thing.

Visited this quaint little food joint near Galleria with a friend. The ambience is quiet and music was just the right tempo if u want to have a conversation. We went for a weekday dinner so the place wasn't very crowded. The staff is courteous and service is quick. The server who attended to us gave us suggestions as well as took our feedback on the various dishes we ordered. Food was delicious and the flavors were just right. Would definitely suggest it to friends & family and would love to visit again. The breakfast menu (yes, they have a separate breakfast menu) sounds indulgent and interesting.
Ambience - 5/5
Food - 4.5/5 (cutting half a point because the apple cinnamon cider was a little too sweet for my taste)
Service - 5/5
Cost - 4.5/5 (We were 2 people, ordered 5 dishes - 2 starters, 2 beverages, 1 main course and 1 dessert. Total was around 2k). The portion sizes were a little small.
Overall -4.5/5

After a while I’ve Eaten such amazing food in this part of the country. Can’t wait to come back and try everything on the menu. Excellent food and service :)
Utsav Jain
When you dine here, even 48 plates aren't enough because the food is impeccable.
My personal recommendation would be Spanakopita, Aglio olio spaghetti, and the oriental stir fry.

Easter egg: They play hypnotizing retro English music on loop, doesn't get any better than that!

A bunch of us visited the place on a cozy Sunday winter afternoon and what followed for the next 2 hours was an amazing experience. The first thing that strikes you is the sophisticated ambience. It is soft and elegant. Loved the concepts of having the old recipes put up as wall decor. The kids got their share of fries and fresh juices very quickly and once they settled down we looked at the menu. One thing that strikes you is the menu has varied items from the ghee roasts to salads, burritos to pasta which was a plus for our group since we all wanted to try different things. We had quite a few things from the menu and each one came out perfect, just the right portions, well plated and it looked and tasted delicious. The mushroom bao, ghee roast both paneer and chicken, mudpie, humble plate of spaghetti and blueberry cheese cake were the highlights. The filter kaapi was just right and pleased the coffee drinkers too They have some yumm home made chocolates and the kids did not hesitate to grab all of them that were served to us All in all it was a great afternoon for the 8 of us and we enjoyed the service, ambience and the food. Would definitely come back again to try their newly introduced breakfast menu over the weekend Thanks team 48 Plates .. well done

Mutton baos was chewy. And tasteless. Kofta kabab was also raw and under cooked.
Then came ghee roast with dosa .. they were edible .. but very small portion of all meals. Staff very very good. Polite and humble in taking feedback. Bad experience. 1300 gone waste.

Great experience as first timers to the place - looking forward to next time to try some more ! Special mention for Shakshuka and frittata

Went there for New Years eve dinner with my wife. Beautiful ambience. Pleasant lighting, and western classics playing in the background. Food was yummy. We tried Goan fish curry, and bacon wrapped Sausages, baked chicken Korean wings, roast chicken in orange and wine sauce and mashed potato. All items were good. For dessert we had Creme Brulee and Mississippi Mud Pie, very satisfying as well. The best part was the Warm Apple Cinnamon Cider drink. That was amazing! Overall a excellent experience. Will definitely recommend for a couples, friends and families for special occasions.

48 Plates is an impressive addition to the culinary scene at Cross Point mall and stands out from the multiple cafés by having a distince theme and menu.

The portion sizes are on the smaller side, but the flavour profile of the food is exquisite. The gorgeous menu and deep green decor choices all come together for a nice ambience. The service staff is helpful and eager.

The restaurant has been opened by a two passionate businesswomen who have moved on from corporate jobs to explore the world of food and the passion shows in the food.

8/10, definitely visit.

The warm, perfect Shepherd's Pie that I always crave for, and really good mushroom baos. I was glad to have visited. But above all, the concept and ambience. Can't wait to try all of those 48 plates that they have.

Recently I had gone to this place for lunch, first with my son & then with my brother(as it was his birthday). The food here is worth coming back, every time! The Goan choriz masala is the top most delight! Loved it! The Turkish kebabs, Goan fish curry, grilled prawns were totally delicious! :) Keep up the good work because I will keep coming back here! A special mention for Shankar who helped us with the menu & served us as well, with a smile! All the best & cheers! :))

Each dish offered a completely different style and flavour profile, and each dish was near perfect. They offer a diverse cuisine from around the world, and by limiting themselves to a select few, the restaurant is able to master all their offerings.

we have been there for a lunch...exceptional place with wide options of dishes.Loved their Goan chorizo masala and pepper fry mutton. also the handwritten feedback form with the fountain pen was out of the park. Service was professional, decent.

A great Concept based Restaurant serving 48 different style dishes from different cuisines. Loved the Open Bao and stir fry very much. hope they start serving liqour soon. Thanks will be back soon.
Suruchi Makhija
We ordered two chicken dishes. Unfortunately both the dishes we ordered tasted stale and unappetising. One can usually tell if chicken is stale/reheated. The flavours were there but the meat was not on the mark.

A rarest five 🌟 I've given, this my third time here and I just love the place. Every dish I've had so far has been like signature dishes, as if they are crafted for you. 48 plates has an extremely well curated menu, with impeccable taste, generous portions and smart pricing. I'd like to visit this place 48 times and post a review then titled '48 times at 48 plates'!

48 plates is a blend of different cuisines under one roof. What I loved the most about this place was that they quite have a select menu and each dish in itself seems like crafted with a lot of thought and pride. The owners actually have played a small trick with the consumers because you would want to come back yet again to try out another dish from small as well has hearty meals. The menu also has regular options but I would recommend all to try out the different things from the menu. I am a vegetarian and I settled for ramen bowl which was quite light with a flavourful broth however I wanted more heat to it while my friend was quite excited with her roast chicken. But the show stopper was the dessert, we have s’mores chocolate tart and it was a different take to a regular tart. It came with toasted marshmallow on a soft chocolate filling with a base of salted pastry, believe me it was heavenly. It was so different and flavourful that we had another portion between two people. It’s a must must try place .
Great food! Had the grilled fish and the lamb kebabs and some Caesar salad. The ginger drink was natural and quite nice. Great experience overall. The helpings, maybe could have been slightly better.

48 plates is set to make an impact to the dining experience in Gurgaon. The place is simple yet super classy and elegant. The interior completely compliments the food it serves.

Impeccable quality, perfect quantity, topped up with brilliantly defined menu, which offers something for everyone.

Must try is the Ghee roast, Creme brûlée and their Mutton Fry.

Tried the special Goan menu today and totally loved it . From fruit drink to appetisers to main course was authentic and delicious indeed. Especially cafreal chicken fish curry and xacuti had perfect blend of pepper and chilly of true Goan cuisine
Kartik Misra
Had the Spanish prawns appetiser and the Taiwanese clay pot chicken. Both were great — good flavours, well made. Staff was courteous, sweet and kept checking in on us. Intrigued to go for their Goan cuisine event this weekend!

The ambience is lovely, quaint and fresh. The music is everything Sinatra... the stir fried noodles were good. The Turkish kebabs with pita bread, labmeh and hummus was enjoyable. Thoumb (garlic sauce) Arabic pickles would have cemented the deal. The customer service attentive and friendly :) . The thank you note at the end .. endearing.. especially to be signed off with a fountain pen. Now That, really adds Panache !

Husband and I visited 48 plates yesterday for a quick lunch. It’s a lovely place, has a very quaint feel to it. The interior is done in pleasant greens with ample number of pots and plants all around. It has a very laid back relaxed ambience.
We ordered Kafir Lime soda, Passionfruit and Kafir lime mock tail. For food we ordered pepper fry (mutton) and from the cast iron grill ( paneer). We ended with a dessert of Mississippi mud cake with ice cream.
The food is definitely very finger licking. Though I felt that maybe serving size should be slightly bigger. My husband polished off his first order of Prawns in mins. And was left wanting for more, hence ordered pepper fry.
Overall an awesome experience. A must visit
Shrey Gupta
Really loved the concept and the music. The staff was very courteous. The mocktails were decent and the coconut lemonade was the best.
We had tapas with prawns which was average, but the ramen was to die for. We also ordered the chicken platter which was also good. Loved the desserts too. Would definitely visit again

I’ve been to 48 plates twice now, and everything I’ve eaten there was impeccable. Their food is simple, restrained and fabulous! I desperately hope they do well.
The Feast That's Life
48 Plates is a warm and cozy restaurant serving a carefully curated menu with dishes from around the world. Their love for providing delicious food to people brought Upasana & Sheeba together, and they hand-crafted 48 dishes taking inspiration from the food they’ve had during their travels to set up this restaurant. The décor of the place is elegant and minimalistic, and yet homely and warm. The green plants, soft lighting and black and white photo collages on the walls bring a nice comforting vibe to the place.

We started off with two of their mocktails- the Kaffir Lime Orange Cooler was really refreshing, and the Ginger Twist, which had fresh ginger, watermelon juice, mint and lemon was delicious as well.

For starters, we went with Spanakopita, Goan Choriz Masala and Turkish Lamb Kebabs.

The Spanakopita, which are Greek style savory phyllo parcels, were really crispy on the outside, and even though they were deep fried, they didn't feel oily or heavy. The pastry was filled with spinach and feta and the spinach still felt fresh and vibrant. The dish was served with a creamy dip and a side salad that was dressed in a sharp vinaigrette which tasted really nice.

The Goan Choriz Masala was perhaps our favorite dish of the night, and it was a tough choice, since all the dishes were spectacular. But what really impressed us about this dish was the balance of flavors. The pork sausages from the town of Mapusa were so rich in flavor, and the masala was flavored with kokum, coconut vinegar and chilies, to get the perfect balance of sour, tangy and spicy flavors without any of them overpowering the others. The dish was paired with Poi, the traditional Goan bread, which they had baked in-house, which was light, fresh and fluffy and we loved dunking the bread in the flavorful dish.

The Turkish Lamb Kofta Kebabs showed how subtle, restrained spices can also make for a lovely dish. The lamb koftas were really juicy and moist, and were flame grilled to give them a smoky flavor. The kebabs were laced with sumac, garlic and parsley to give them a delicate flavor and were served with a nicely baked homemade Turkish bread, creamy laban dressing and fresh hummus.

For main course, we decided on Grilled Fish, Stroganoff and Ramen.

The fish was marinated with garlic, olive oil and herbs, and was cooked to perfection- there were nice char marks on the fish fillet and the fish was soft and flaky. The fish was slathered with a rich and zingy lemon butter sauce and served with nicely grilled vegetables and butter rice.

The Stroganoff was another delightful dish consisting of buff undercut that was pan grilled with mushrooms, shallots and gherkins, scented with red wine and served with plain rice. The gherkins added a nice flavor to the dish and also cut through the richness of the buff. A lovely dish to try if you're looking for something different, yet comforting.

The Ramen Bowl was a hearty, soul satisfying dish that consisted of thin noodles dunked in the most delicious soy flavored broth and topped with nori, chicken, boiled egg and vegetables such as shitake mushroom, carrots, beans, broccoli and spring onions. This is a dish you'd want to keep coming back for.

We ended this lovely, satisfying meal with a couple of amazing desserts.

The Creme Brulee, a French classic, had a lovely light vanilla custard which had the perfect consistency and just the right amount of sweetness, sprinkled with sugar and torched to caramelize so we got a perfect crack on the top when we dug into the dessert.

The Sticky Date Pudding with Butterscotch Sauce, which is a classic English dessert, was simply superb. The comforting dessert consisted of moist, rich date cake topped with the most amazing thick, luscious butterscotch sauce and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The butterscotch sauce was so good, we felt like bottling it up and taking it home.

Overall, 48 Plates impressed us with each dish, and is one of the few restaurants where each dish is worth coming back for. While it’s hard for us to pick our favorites since we were blown-away by all the dishes, we would surely come back time and again for the Goan Choriz Masala, the Ramen and the Sticky Date Pudding. The service was also efficient and courteous, and Upasana is a lovely and warm host. This restaurant serves so many different cuisines with such a vast range of flavors, and still does a great job with each, offering something for everyone, making 48 Plates a must-visit

A cozy and comfortable place with courteous staff and a wonderful host. 48 plates is creativity personified. The food is nothing short of exceptional. I had the Mutton Bao, and the Goan Choriz Masala with the Poi bread and the Cast iron grill prawns. The presentation was immaculate and the taste was even better. The only thing that kept me from ordering any more was my over full tummy. Don't miss the place it's an absolute delight. Waiting to return and try more!!!

48 Plates as the name of the outlet, depict their exquisite menu of 48 carefully curated dishes. Located in Crosspoint Mall, DLF Phase 4, the ambiance of this outlet is quite nostalgic and homely in terms of the decor, and the theme. The decor especially was alluring and well detailed, considering the simplicity factor in it. Plants, classic lighting, and even the wall frames with recipes of dishes were quite a charming add-on to the experience.

In FOOD we had,

➊ GAMBAS AL AJILLO.
A favorite Spanish tapas with Prawns, seasoned with rock salt and Oodles of Garlic. The presentation was decent. The blend of garlic and olive oil with the tender prawns was commendable. *HIGHLY RECOMMENDED*

➋ TURKISH LAMB KOFTA KEBOBS.
Lamb Koftas flame-grilled and laced with sumac, garlic, and parsley. Served with homemade Turkish bread, Laban dressing, and Hummus. The minced lamb was top-notch. The grilled quotient was quite good and hummus was a great accompaniment.

➌ CHICKEN GORDON BLEU.
Ham and Cheese packed in pillows of chicken breast, crumb fried and served with a homemade cheese sauce. The stuffing of ham and cheese was so alluring and the fried quotient was really appreciable. *HIGHLY RECOMMENDED*

➍ SALAD NIÇOISE.
A French summer favourite, shows off classic French flavors, when we bring together tuna, tomatoes, olives, boiled egg and beans in a French vinaigratte. The dressing was subtle and perfectly blended with the ingredients. The wholesome cheese was quite joyous with the beans and boiled egg.

➎ FROM THE CAST IRON GRILL.
Marinated with Garlic, olive oil and herbs, Served along with grilled vegetables with classic Mashed Potatoes. The taste was a sheer delight. The marinade was splendid and fish fillet was utterly tender. The presentation looked adorable and the concoction of mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables were a charming add-on to the dish. *HIGHLY RECOMMENDED*

➏ RAMEN BOWL.
Soul satisfying bowl of noodles dunked in soy flavored broth and topped with vegetables and nori. The most enjoyable dish and preferrebly one of best dish they have, for which this outlet should definitely be re-visited. Ramen is a likeable ingredient and when it gets combined with assorting broth, tender mushrooms and veggies, the overall becomes heavenly. The bowl was perfectly presented and garnished. *HIGHLY RECOMMENDED*

In DRINKS we had,

➊ TENDER COCONUT LEMONADE.
A simple yet blissful combination of minty lemonade and tender coconut. The duo sounds quirky however, it was a pleasant mix.

➋ GINGER TWIST.
A nice hint of ginger with watermelon and mint lemonade was refreshing. The drink had a nice presentation.

The overall experience was overjoyed. The food was promising and on top of that, the ambiance was a nice wow factor. Their service was amazing, precisely the humbleness and promptness of staffing was admirable. Gladly, we got to interact with the owners Upasana and Sheeba, and they had been a wonderful host to us. The outlet definitely a recommendation and a worthy preference for a re-visit :)

Let me start by stating, this place has an amazing ambiance (love the jazz music!), prompt and polite service, and quite an interesting menu. We ordered the Turkish lamb kebabs, chorizo with poi, ghee roast chicken, Uncle Martín’s fish curry, Creme Brûlée, and Blueberry cheesecake. The kebabs and chorizo were nice, we enjoyed those thoroughly. Ghee roast chicken was also delicious. However, the fish curry was disappointing, nothing Goan about it at all, very bland. We found both desserts average (had better locally). The biggest disappointment, however, was when we found a hair in the Ghee roast chicken, towards the end of the meal, and pointed it out, just for their knowledge, there was no attempt at service recovery.

I'd say the moment i tried their first dish, i was mesmarised, the beautiful presentation, the beautiful people and Ambience.
The most catchy thing about this place was food presentation and friendly staff.

Went to 48 plates on seeing some recommendations from people I follow on Twitter and Instagram. Quaint little cosy place with very chic interiors and impeccable service.

Loved everything I had. Took my Mom along and she liked the flavours too. Easy on pocket and some authentic food served with love and humbleness.

I am definitely going back again to try some of their non-vegetarian stuff.

Beautiful place with a beautiful menu to choose from. The interiors are stunning and as soon as you enter this restaurant, you're A. at peace and B. you know that the meal won't go wrong.

I absolutely loved my time there. The Kaffir Lime, the mutton bao, and also the Umm Ali dessert ❤️
