Review Chennai Kitchen - Guwahati

Mayuri Parashar Goswami
The food here is amazing. Specially the dosas. They are the best!! They don't compromise on the quality and quantity of food. Also the food prices here are more on the pocket friendly side. Lastly, they maintain good hygiene inside n out their premises. I'm kind of a regular customer here. Will be visiting again soon to try on more items of the menu ❤️

The best South Indian restaurant in the city. Must try is the Idly and Dosa. Authentic Adda payasam made of Ada and Jaggery. Lemon rice is also good.
Arup Mukherjee
Excellent and authentic South Indian eatery right on the GS Road. Wide variety of items to choose from some of which are not available anywhere else in the city. Very well presented and very tasty. Price a little higher than expected but it’s totally worth it. Will come back
Tilak Sarma
I ordered thali and found the quality and taste awesome. Also ordered Lassi but didn't like the taste, which needed to improve. Most of the time during lunch hours it's fully occupied and you may have to wait outside in the waiting area. So plan accordingly.

I went there for the first time to try their Podi Idli. I guess they have took it off from the menu and I had to go ahead with Masala Idli instead. The presentation was nice. They served everything in bell metal plates and bowls. The idli was served with 3 chutneys - coconut, tomato and a green chutney and sambhar. The taste was wonderful. It was priced at Rs 150 plus GST. The food was value for money according to the portion size.
Sukanta kanungo
Variety of Dosa are unimaginable, + they also provide various drinks like Lassi tea coffee etc. Service is fast and food is good according to the price
Prafull Meghani
It's a pure South Indian vegetarian restaurant. I ate paper masala dhosa and idly sambar. dhosa is crunchy and very tasty freshly made idly is also made very freshly. Sambhar was good in taste .they served three different types of chutney one made from coconut 🥥 second from garlic and red chili third from coriander and mint. Highly satisfied from their service and food quality

This authentic South Indian restaurant is soo dam good!! There are so many dishes to choose from the menu , I just love their masala dosa. It's big enough for two people to eat!! It remains crowded everytime due to the quality and quantity they have maintained so far!!

Finest and one of the best I would say original authentic South Indian cuisine ever had till date. We were a group of 10 people so tried almost every item and surprisingly all were promising. So anything you order would be best. Even the portion size is adequate and for some items one can't finish the portion. Very warm hospitality, service and care taken. Undoubtedly don't miss this one of the very few pure veg restaurants once you are in Guwahati.
Dipjyoti Basak
Restaurant is very clean and hygienic. They follow the Chennai theme very nicely. Food is pure veg and it’s good too. The coffee might be overpriced according to its quality. Overall a good restaurant for a vegetarian person or someone who wants to try south Indian food.

Truly an authentic South Indian restaurant. After hearing a lot about this outlet I have decided to visit. This is a complete vegetarian restaurant. They have various kinds of South Indian food items on their menu. I ate masala dosa there that tasted delicious. Rates are very reasonable, plain dosa at just 100 rs and masala dosa at just 120. One thing I also like about them is their employees were wearing South Indian white attire. An awesome experience there, South Indian foods are my favorite. Definitely visit again and try their South Indian thali.
abunaser ikram
A popular restaurant amongst those who love the taste of South Indian cuisine. At the entrance to the restaurant, there is a chat counter where different types of chats are available. The menu contains a large variety of South Indian dishes. Only vegetarian items are available. Serves freshly cooked delicacies within a short time. The sambar vada is one of my favourite and l relish the same. The vada came with 3 different types of chutneys. Service is quite fast.
Avishek Kumar
Visited this place on rainy day we ordered Dosa and Upma. The taste was great . The actual problem is there was long queue of waiting people to enter the restaurant. The dosa and Upma were great . You know the e best part is the chutney they serve you along with dosa . There were 3 types of chutney along with sambar . Overall a great experience. I recommend this place to everyone. Just have some patience to wait outside. If I didn’t have to wait to enter the restaurant I would have given 5 stars.
Jishu Kinkar Medhi
Hands down the best authentic south indian food in Guwahati!
Ankit Sd
The food is great here, no extra spices and home like experiance. The service is great and the atmosphere is also good. It's just a little congested but that's not a reason to not go.

If you ever happen to crave for excellent South Indian Dishes in Assam, I would recommend Chennai Kitchen to be the best option considered. The prices are quite decent, ambience simple and the food and staff are 5 star. You would simply fall in love with this place. Highly recommended. Located just opposite St. Stephen's School, Christian Basti,Guwahati, you can easily find it out. But the food will assure it's worth.
Rajashree Konwar
i just miss going there after my classes. Hoping to go soon❤️<br/>I wish they would have delivered here.

Food Around The World
Chennai kitchen it is a pure veg restaurant. They served many different types of South Indian dishes. The waiter roaming around in a white lungi and white shirt <br/><br/>I had tried the masala dosa. The dosa was crispy one side and another side it was not crunchy. The masala inside the dosa was amazing. It was served with three different types of chutney and a bowl of Sambar. The texture of the sambar was great and the coconut chutney has made the dosa more delicious<br/><br/>They also serve chat, idli, vada, Upma, uthappam, South Indian thali, filter coffee and many different types of dosa
Trishi Talukdar
Love their dosas ❤

Breakfast and coffee are very good compared to rice items, less spicy as expected
Guwahati Edible Treats
Chennai Kitchen is one of those places that is so busy that you have to wait outside to get a seat. But the food is worthy enough for the long wait outside. This place is another family favourite, which we often visit.<br/><br/>The food was good as usual. The Chilli Idli was spicy and tangy served with four different types of chutney. The choley was very tasty. The Pani Puri was okayish. The Dahi Vada is one of the best for me.
CHERRY BARMAN
One of the best south-indian restaurant😍😍😋😋 Highly recommended!!

Located in Christian Basti, Guwahati. 50 meters away from the The Central mall. Is a small restaurant with authentic south Indian restaurant feel with friendly staff. Has a variety of food options to choose from with quick and prompt service without sacrificing the quality of the food have visited this place many a times as it is moderately priced and has never left me disappointed.

CHENNAI KITCHEN: ONE STOP FOR THE SOUTH<br/>The city of Guwahati has something up its sleeve to serve every kind of taste bud. Be it Chinese, Continental, Mexican or South Indian. The skilled use of lentils, tamarind, rice, native fruits and vegetables and coconut makes Chennai Kitchen a must visit place. Yes, coconut! The signature fruit of the South Indian cuisine. As the name suggests, Chennai Kitchen is a South Indian restaurant. This is one of the best vegetarian or saiva restaurants in city for people seeking for a South Indian experience. The restaurant is not very huge but its authenticity and the South Indian ambiance is a pure delight.<br/><br/> <br/><br/>A typical Tamil meal consists of a variety of spicy and non-spicy dishes. The dishes are generally teamed with steamed rice, which is a staple food of the region. Chennai kitchen has a plethora of flavourful dishes in its menu. The restaurant serves a wide range of dosas. The Rawa dosa of this place is a crowd favourite. It is made using rava and rice flour. The restaurant specialises in quick bites like masala idli, vada, chaat. The South Indian thali is a must have if you’re having a tiresome day and want to satisfy your hunger with a heavy lunch. The restaurant boasts of its coffee. And it sure reaches up to its expectation. The filter coffee of this place has a very creamy and smooth texture. It tastes great. If not for the food, you have to stop by this place atleast for its coffee the next time you visit Guwahati. The buttermilk of this place is a crowd pleaser for its unique taste. Buttermilk helps in digestion and is usually had after a wholesome meal. The servings of dishes are very generous. <br/><br/>The price for 2 people at Chennai Kitchen is Rs. 200 approx. The affordable price for such a great food experience pulls crowd from all the age groups. The college going students having a tight budget and the middle-aged people who seek healthy and heavy food. The ambiance is peaceful and the waiters serving dishes has very cheerful personalities. The manager who is also the restaurant owner welcomes you with much warmth and hospitality.<br/><br/> <br/><br/>One of the specialities of this restaurant which makes it stand apart from other South Indian restaurants is the uniform of all the waiters and the manager. Everyone is clad in simple shirts and kurtas which is the customary dress code of South India. Even the food is served with a banana leaf underneath adding to the simple and sober ambiance with hints of its traditional origin. The utensils are made of brass. The place has a good hygiene. The service is also very prompt. The place gets crowded very soon so you’ve to get your seat reserved if you want to grab one, specially during the festive season. This place is one stop for all your South Indian cravings. Do visit this place for the ultimate dosa experience and scrumptious coffee served in a quirky South Indian style.

Gautam Mohan
good south Indian food. must try are the thatte idli available on sundays. limited seating but a popular eat out makes the place busy and difficult to find a seat. all in all good food. could suggest to start delivery which could earn more fans
Rachit Saboo
A decent south indian place.. basically the best amongst the options available.. Overpriced for the kind of ambience & feel of the place.. no option anyways..
Nishigandha Das
If you are feeling to have authentic south Indian food, then this is the right place. This place gives the pure south Indian taste in it's dishes. The ambience is totally south Indian, the staff wears traditional south Indian clothes which is dhoti n kurta. It gives a total south Indian feeling.<br/>Moving to the food, I had it's Puri upma and tomato masala dosa. Both the dishes were awesome. Three chutneys and sambar was served with the dosa. And sambar, upma, Puri and one sabji was served in Puri upma. Food was served on brass metal utensils with banana leaves which gives the authentic feeling of South India.<br/>Its a total vegetarian restaurant.<br/>The rates of this place is very reasonable. The two dishes cost me 300 plus taxes.<br/>Overall it's a must visit place in Guwahati.
Myfooddiary/Priyanka Paul
Situated in a narrow lane, the entrance is beautiful. The restaurant is quite small and seeing it's popularity, you can definitely find a waiting line during lunch hours. The interior is clean and the service is quick. I love their dosa variety, although the idlis seemed a little over priced. The coconut chutney is the real deal.
Chandni
Chennai kitchen, the name itself says that there must be some sign of chennai. I have ordered dosa and pav bhaji. But the taste of dosa is better than that of pav bhaji. The costumes of waiter is traditional dress of south. The food is served on a banana leaves, gives feeling of chennai.
Priyanka Das
Those who are fond of south Indian food should really give a try.. You will get a real feel of South. The staffs are well dressed with traditional lungis and white shirts.

Well, I have been here quite a few times and I guess I don't have a particular affinity for this place.<br/>It has a funny entrance (it struck me the first time) and it kind of felt like someone's home. The menu is totally South Indian and I was eager to try it.<br/>We had Plain Rawa Dosa and Masala Butter Dosa (both were kind of as expected- good and filling), Idli (okayish), Sambhar Vada (okayish but a bit soggy), Upma (not very good- too plain and cooked in ghee), Uttapam (okayish) and Tomato Rice (spicy but lacked the tomato essence totally).<br/>The ambience is good, well-kept I would say. The service is quick and courteous.
Pinkie Deori
Chennai kitchen is one of my favorite restaurants. I ordered Butter masala Dosa and it was delicious and value for money. I also love the way it is served on banana leaf 💖💖
T G Sanjeev Kumar
Very costly.... Food is nice but a normal person can't afford it. Price should be reasonable. If price will be little cheaper than I think restaurant will be more occupied and maximum people can enjoy and afford it. I always luv to have my breakfast and lunch there but I have no choice instead of selecting other restaurant.<br/><br/>
Debabrat Sharma
The place is quite good. The staff maintained South Indian dress codes which looked very good and attractive. The service of the staff was also good but when I visited the restaurant I was asked tonwait outsode as there was no space inside the restaurant. I think the restaurant should find some option for it.<br/><br/>Coming to the food, it was very good and frankly speaking it was really good and taste was awesome. I think the price of the food item is also high a bit compared to the other restaurants.<br/><br/>Overall rating:<br/>Food quality: 4 out 5<br/>Staff service: 4 out 5

Came here with family and had ordered Bisibele bhaat and I can say this with somewhat authority that this dish served here is extremely tangy. The filter coffee too is not authentic and it left me with a bad after taste.
Dipshikha Das
I tasted pav bhaji here and coffee, coffee serving is good like a traditional south indian restaurant, good to see such a place in Guwahati, #chennaikitchen, thank you
Doris
On plate :<br/>Paneer masala dosa and Mysore masala dosa.<br/>If you are a south indian food lover this is the perfect place.<br/>Nice and cosy ambience. The staff was quite courteous and they were dressed up in traditional south indian dress which made it feel like real south.<br/>
Nilakshi
No doubt they maintained their South Indian traditional dress codes and also it looked quite attractive , service was also super fast but I was really disappointed with one of the chutney that was served with the masala dosa . It smelled kinda rotten type and it was completely unhealthy to have that chutney in breakfast. They should work harder to improve their hygiene as well .

What impresed me at the first sight was the dress code of the service guys. White shirt and white dhoti gave a feel of traditional chennaiyan restaurant. Ambiance was good so the service. We did not have to wait for long. And found the food tasty too. We ordered masala idli and onion masala dosa, lassi, badam thandai. We came out with completely tript aatma...
Hungry_tummy_forever
One of the best South Indian restaurant in the city. They have so many varieties of dosa , idli , vada and South Indian thali. The best thing is that this is the only restaurant who served you filter coffee . The place was neat and tidy. The staffs were wear the South Indian dress for welcoming the staff. I like the concept because it’s a South Indian restaurant and they maintained each and everything so the customer feel the South Indian vibes in the restaurant. The staffs were so polite in nature . I love dosa and there dosa were fabulous. The food quality was so good and the way they present each and every dish in a Cooper plate with banana leaves typically South Indian style😍. I tried many dosa over there but my fav was the family dosa , cheese dosa , masala dosa very much . The pani puri was perfectly prepared. And the filter coffee were amazing to taste.😋 <br/> I love to visit this place again and again😊

N for actually feel like we r in south restaurant the staffs wears the South Indian attire....<br/>Comming to food i ordered paneer masala dosa n pav bhaji... u guys are little lacking behind in-<br/><br/>1)there must be proper amount of paneer for which we are paying 160bucks rest the balance of sambar n chutneys were very up to the mark<br/><br/>2)the pav bhaji part i mean gravy one it must be little spicy as pavbhaji cannot be so spicyless....<br/><br/>Hopefully will visit again....

Amazing dosa s ... There was 3kinds of Chutneys and all tasted so good also the quantity was great the dosa was good though the masala I guess could have been better.. we(Sreya Bordoloi ) ordered one masala dosa and one masala onion dosa.. both had almost the same masala and both had onion (loads of onion) but the prices varied by 15-20rs which is strange 🙂 but overall the Chutneys and the Sambhar were absolute ❤

All the way to 2500 kms away is what this place ambience, the host and the food aroma will make you feel. Truly Southindia by food and by hospitality. They are so very Tamilians. #dosa and #filter kappi is most sought but every item on the menu is wow. Esp try the last name on the menu - Set Dosa. Keep it up

It is my second visit to this place.<br/>The place is comfortable but little congested.<br/>Everytime I visit this place there has been a long line in the waiting area.<br/>The dishes have a great taste.<br/>The waiters are friendly too!<br/><br/>
Ria
Amazing food, staff behaviour is good.. Food is served within minutes.. Also the place remains really packed during lunch times, so much that sometimes you have to wait to get a table.. That must say something about the place... serves some amazing vegetarian South Indian dishes starting from dosas to idli.. And the prices are also quite low..
Kalyan Panja
This is a nice and small vegetarian restaurant attempting to offer delicacies in South Indian style.  The taste of the food items is definitely good with a range of options on offer. The quantity can be increased a bit.
Trishnakhi Deuri
This place is a must for all the south indian food lovers. It is a complete south indian restaurant giving you variants of different south indian dishes. I tried their rawa cheese masala dosa and rawa cheese onion masala dosa and for dessert i had kesaria bhat. The dosas were served with 5 different kinds of chutneys which also includes the potato mash, coconut chutney, sambar.I really loved it without any complaint.Coming to the kesaria bhat it was yum.Made with lots of ghee its basically suji ka halwa.I would definitely recommend this place to all the food lovers out there. But the place is mostly packed during the whole day.You might have to wait for a couple of minutes but trust me once you get to taste their food you wont regret waiting for those few minutes.Happy Eating.Cheers👍😊

My first experience was quiet amazing. The #ambience is great, serves right with the name you can actually have a taste of South. Staff is polite and friendly. The food was delicious. I went with uttapam which was well served with sambhar and 3 variant of chutneys. It's a great place to go with friends and family.
Rodasee
Its the best place for South Indian cuisine in town. Makes the best Rawa dosas. I just wish they could home deliver. It would be twice as awesome then!
Kunaal Deka
Perfect place to feed your South Indian craving.<br/>The time you enter you feel like you headed towards south.<br/>Really good food and filling each taste bud with joy of taste. <br/>Value for money for sure <br/>And their Dosa Chutneys are just Love!! <br/>So if you like South Indian dishes do visit it for sure , as it might be your next favourite South Indian craving spot !!
Abhishek Anantharaju
It was really nice finding an authentic South Indian restaurant like this in the North-Eastern part of the country. As a South Indian myself, I feel especially qualified to review this outlet 😛<br/><br/>As soon as you enter the place, you get that classic aroma you'd smell inside any good restaurant in Bangalore or Chennai. I felt at home, really. The ambience is South-Indian-ish for the most part. The waiters wearing the panche/lungi just adds to it.<br/><br/>Coming to the menu, it's all South Indian. Right up to the coffee even. As a Bangalorean, I felt that all the items on the menu were overpriced. You'd get any of the items on the list for less than half the price in a South Indian city like Bangalore. BUT, don't forget, we're in the North-East. These dishes are not native to the place which justifies the prices. I mean, any North Indian food in the South would cost as much<br/><br/>We ordered the South Indian thalli, AKA, the full meals. I wouldn't say it tasted like a typical meals I'd get back in my home town. But it was close to it. The rasam was really good though. The vegetable saagu, I felt, was overloaded with coconut. But the rest was really good. It filled my tummy as should a good meal. I had a glass of lassi afterwards. That was good too.<br/><br/>Overall, a nice place to eat for South Indians who are kind of homesick like I was when I found this place
Himakshi Sharma
My first visit to this place. The staff was polite, service was prompt and the food was great. I ordered an onion rawa masala dosa, had a great experience. Must try restaurant for South Indian food lovers.
Astha Saikia (FoodLust)
Chennai Kitchen definitely serves the best South Indian cuisine in Guwahati without a shadow of doubt. I'm so much in love with the quality of food they provide. I have tried this special South Indian Thali only at the cost of 200 bucks. Unbelievable, right? This Thali includes a lot of delicacies that you might not find elsewhere. Also, they do not make things spicy unnecessarily which I personally think is really healthy. They also serves a wide variety of dosas. I tried their Onion Masala Dosa and it was finger licking good. The ambience is okayish but gets filled up in no time especially during the lunch hours. I think they should probably think about it.<br/>And I'll recommend every South Indian lover to go fill up your tummies with their amazing dishes.
Priyanka Maheshwari
Had my lunch on a Sunday.. Masala dosa n cheese dosa. Loved it.. Every bite.. Sambhar was neither runny nor thick.. 3 types of chutney.. Prompt service.
Pradhan Neha
A friend recommended this place and i was really not disappointed.Probably the best south Indian restaurant in guwahati.the best part is how everyone treats you well and welcomes.very authentic food and hustle bustle of the place just makes it more lively.had a wonderful time.
Vivek Kedia
This place serves really tasteful South Indian food. Almost all the dishes are near perfect and good to taste. I was a regular to this place. The only issue which they can improve is overall hygiene. My father got severe good poisoning after having dinner here, more over on visiting the doctor we found out that over the last few months 70 to 80% of patients complaining of food poisoning had Chennai kitchen in common. I really hope this place puts in proper hygiene in their kitchen and utensils cleaning.
Kalpita Borah
Best place in the city for South Indian food❤️<br/>I recommend you to visit this place for at least once. You will love it.. The service is also good.. 😊

Mitali Baruah
Great food. They serve south Indian food. Their south Indian thali is very good. Bissi bele bhat and other dishes are good too.<br/>Price is very reasonable. Their service is prompt. Very good for office goers as they get prompt serving at reasonable price.<br/>Only disadvantage is ,the space is congested and one has to be in queue at busy hours. But that is not much of a headache as they serve very prompt.
Papia Bhadra Roy
The moment we entered we feel like we headed out to south..and yes the service was prompt irrespective of the crowd we ordered masala onion dosa and cold coffee which was good but the cold coffee could have been much better with a minimal.sugar in it otherwise the place was good .

Ashmita Vaidya
This is the best place for dosa. Its very delicious and mouth watering. The lassi, banana shake taste very good. And the way the staffs dressed up shows the South Indian culture. And and and, the sewai is the best sewai I ever had. The prices are upto their standard of food. So its worth it.
Apeksha Saikia
This place was suggested to me by some of my friends as they know I fancy South Indian cuisines. So I made a visit here to try out their famous South Indian Thali and I instantly became their fan.<br/>It is indeed a huge one with all South Indian delicacies comprising of steam rice, puris, Toran (poriyal), the lip smacking Abhiyal (coconut curry), Rasam, Malabar curry, Dal, sweets, papad and a mixture of chips with nuts.<br/>All of these in just Rs 200 makes it quite affordable and a must try.<br/>I tried out their Lassi and Butter milk (each of Rs 90) and loved it immensely. Tried out their Dahi Phuchka and Pani Puri (suji) too, although I didn't like it much but chat lovers can give it a try.<br/>On my second visit I tried out their dosas, they have got around 43 varieties of dosas. I found some of them really interesting like the Dry fruit masala dosa (that's on my list), Mushroom choupsey masala dosa, carrot masala dosa and many more (you can view it on their menu).<br/>The place is mostly crowded and quite smaller than what you will expect while viewing its exterior. It has an amazing staff all clad in traditional South Indian attire. I loved their service and look forward to another visit (keeping in mind to try their filter coffee this time).<br/><br/>22/11/2018<br/>Revisited this place again to try out the Dry fruit masala dosa and the South Indian coffee. And it turned out really amazing (more than I expected)! Entirely rich stuffings with cashews, raisins and potatoes... this I would strongly recommend.<br/>
Rituparna Dhar
They serve the best dosa in the town with three different Chutney. Sambhar can be better. Pav bhaji was delicious too. High maintenance of hygiene. Everything clean and well organised.<br/>Must visit place.
Manjushree Laskar.
Had this huge dosa and the super delicious pao bhaji few days back.<br/>The dosa was too big to finish off all by myself. All the chutneys and the curry was sour in taste.<br/>The pao bhaji whereas was well-balanced both taste and quantity wise.
Dimple Pareek

So, today went for lunch with two of my friends and ordered plain dosa and i must say eating this dosa if you are not so hungry is actually a big challenge for you. But, we were so much famished that we could complete it😉... <br/>Ok, coming to the taste, I must say that the dosa was very crispy and the coconut chutney was so good. Friendly people... waiting for the next visit 😊

Perfect place for south Indian food lovers. A wide range of dosas are available there and we tried masala and paneer masala dosa, both were perfectly crunchy as expected. Among three chutneys & sambar they served, coconut chutney was best. Also had coffee served in South Indian style. In one word it was an awesome experience.
Sangita Narang

We ordered the Cheese Masala and thali. Loved the food! The dosa was really soft and crispy. The thali had a lot of variety. And it is not that expensive. If you want to have good South Indian food, this is the place I’ll recommend! :)
Ayush Mandloi
It's best south Indian restaurant in Guwahati.<br/>Must visit place . Rawa dosa is very nice, Rasam is also good. I also enjoyed the Lemon rice . Mango juice is also decent

We tried their masala dosa. Left the other fancy ones for a later time. The dosa was good, filling, crunchy on the outside yet soft on the central trunk. The filling inside was of potatoes and onions which taste wise was good, quantity wise, could have been better.<br/>Accompanying it was the sambar and 3 other dips. The sambar was decent. I say decent because my mom makes great sambar at home and compared to that, it falls flat. The coconut chutney was really good, fresh and slightly on the sweeter side.. Just perfect. But the other 2 dips left a lingering bad taste. The orange one which I presume was made of dal is nowhere comparable to the ones a few leading vegan eateries in the city serve. The green one was bitter, very bitter. The sambar and the chutneys are refillable.<br/>The ambience is what a busy eatery usually has. Food served in plates covered with banana leaves and staff in traditional South Indian attire do add a few stars to it though.<br/>Over all, a decent experience. Would visit again for their thali and utthapams though.<br/><br/>Update: Tried their cheese masala dosa. Turned out to be quite good. Had an alright amount of cheese. But when you compare the price with a masala dosa, it's around 80 bucks more. But the quantity of cheese was just OK nothing more than that.<br/>Also had the pav bhaji. The bread was too hard & the bhaji though wasn't bad but it had whole peas in it which was a dampener. At 120 bucks, you expect better.

Yesterday I had ordered 3 cheese masala dosa and 1plain cheese dosa for take away. I was very disappointed by the quality of the food. The dosas were all burnt and too hot. The coconut chutney was not fresh. Though in the past , I had dosas in the restaurant, but I am disappointed by yesterday food quality.

Chennai kitchen is a place for a south indian food lover in guwahati. The food is really tasty. Cost is a bit more but worth spending for all type of chatni and the pan they give at the end. Place is congested but a paisa wasool place for a south indian veg lover!!

In simple words, best south Indian food in guwahati. There is a wide range of dosas available. I prefer simple dosas and my go to dosa is plain rawa or masala rawa dosa. Even the fried idli is commendable.

Loved the south indian varieties. Haven't tried the chaats here but idli, vada and the dosas here are simply amazing. Rawa cheese plain dosa and mysore masala dosa are one of my favourites out here.

I have been here 3 times to try the different dosas and utthapam... but unfortunately they all tasted average... the chutney and sambar were worse... each time I suffered from slight acidity from those chutney.. however the prices are reasonable and service is prompt..

Had been to NE for a family trip and finally had been to Guwahati. Wanted to try South Indian food.<br/><br/>One of the worst experience I can say. The food was oily and the price high. The places was too small with the wash basin too far and stinky. Would never recommend.

Good place for South Indian food. Good selection of menu. Nice choice of Idli, Wada, Uttapam and huge selection of "Dosa" also not to forget about chaat, Thali selection and dessert , Multiple choice for juices and milk shake.  I had tried Masala Dosa along with South Indian filter coffee and really made my day. Value for money - YES. Prompt service. Nice and clean tables. Always busy and fast service. Must try coffee. Enjoyed the evening, Great job team keep it up. Looking forward to visit soon again.

I've tried Cheese masala dosa and it was crispy and appetizing. Service is fast, and servings are quite generous and value for money. What I did not like were the dips. Along with chutney, three dips were served, all of which tasted sour. Overall an above average experience.<br/>

Very Surprise ...ordered dry fruit masal dosa.....the comedy is that almost no dry fruit only 4 to 5 pieces of kismis with 2 to 3 pieces of one fourth size of kaju ....its like making people fool  by charging Rs.250 plus GST extra  per dry fruit dosa...Request others Never Try

I had great expectations when we initially entered the place. It was during Xmas. We ordered masala dosas and utthapam. The dosa was just okay, (food villa serves better taste wise) . Utthapam was good enough to atleast eat. Won't go there for a second time.

Sudden cravings for South Indian dishes? Rush to Chennai Kitchen asap! <br/>This is the ultimate dosa stop of the city. The restaurants has a wide variety of classic and as well as hybrid South Indian dishes. My personal favourite is Paneer is Masala Dosa. However, if you're visiting this place, do make sure you don't leave without trying out their AMAZING COFFEE!<br/>The only issue is perhaps the ambiance, it's time that Chennai Kitchen undergoes some renovation and works on its interiors. The rest is alright.
