Review Khorikaa - Guwahati

minibike91
Most ethnic Assamese cuisine restaurant in Guwahati. The chicken , pigeon, duck and pork have a lot of gravy and dry varieties to try from. The veg thali here is a must try. The fine dining restaurant atmosphere lacked music. The service is good and the food we ordered arrived fast. The hilsa fry and duck gourd gravy was my favourite . Kudos to the chef. Will visit again !!! The place is situated right on the main road and the entrance is towards the side. Had a lot of Assam theme decoration over the walls with a few Assam celebrities photo. The manager was welcoming and so were the service staff . Lunch starts from 11:00 am- 5:00 pm

Very delicious and tasty food filled fully with traditional Assamese flavors. We had Assamese Veg Thali & Banana flower fry. All items of the thali were tasty and served only with rice.

A very good place to try authentic Assamese dishes. We a group of friends from Kolkata tried some of their dishes like Mutton Thali, Bamboo pork fried rice with sesame chicken, pigeon curry, joha rice and payokh. The ambience is pretty good. The service is quite fast and the waiters are very polite. The food is realy tasty and the quantity was decent. Pocket friendly. A must try... ❤

Khorika is an Assamese family restaurant which serves homely Assamese food. The ambience is beautiful and the place is quite spacious. It is quite busy at dinner time. Each of us had a veg thali, which was really good. All the items were delicious. However, the chicken items we ordered were pretty underwhelming to say the least. The chicken khorika was especially dry and tough. I hope they can look into this matter.v The service was great. The staff made sure that all our needs were met and they were especially quick in serving our food and refilling the dishes. Overall, I had a decent experience.

Superb food. Assamese thali was great. Had pork curry prepared with sesame seeds and the signature dish - Pork Khorikaa. Awesome and authentic taste. A must visit restaurant if you are a food lover. Pork lover and if you want to taste authentic Assamese dishes. The places also severs fish, duck items. The staff is very polite and cooperative. The service is efficient. Ambiance can be improved a bit with lighting and some music.

Workers are good except the head servant...tried to force us on orders and payments as they were in some hurry or somethig..Overall its a good place but please do check your bill before paying

Excellent place to try out Assamese cuisine at a very reasonable price. Best quality food, services. We had a very pleasant service and conversation with the lady staff who sits at the desk. Her recommendation of Banana Flower fry was also very good. Would recommend a must visit restaurant who wants to try out Assamese cuisine. No other place can be best.

The food taste and quantity they are serving in a 250 rs bowl chicken is disappointing.. I wonder they know about the taste or not... They are just cheating ppl in the name of authenticity. I would like to give minus five.. Also the variety served in thalis are also disappointing. None tasted good except sweet.. Vl never recommend anyone. N vl never try again there. money wasted.

I ordered the non veg akhaj which included plain rice, yellow dal, black dal, khar, leafy vegetable fry, veg anja, chicken khorika, chicken gravy, pitika, kharoli, pani tenga, home made pickle and kheer.

I loved the food here, totally worth every penny. So many delicacies for just Rs 245. The mutton dishes here are amazing as well.

I highly recommend this place to everyone.

This place is definitely a first when it comes to authentic assamese food.

Khorikaa is my no.1 Destination for pork thalis in Guwahati because it's easily accessible and everytime I visit Guwahati, I eat there a minimum of two types. The pork thali is love ❤️( apart from one night when I received only fats in Curry and Smoked dish). You don't need to order anything else if you order Thali, it has everything you need. The service is average, sometimes there's a delay due to the crowd but they try their best.

Not a very fancy restaurant, but a humble, down to earth place frequented by locals regularly. I went there for lunch on a working day and was pleasant to surprised to experience full restaurant! A waiting of 15 mins on a Thursday afternoon. School children, working people and simply hungry folks including me (a completely clueless person) were definitely waiting patiently for some authentic khana.
Thalis after thalis were being served. Potions looked great. I order a bowl of rice, sesame pork and pigeon chilly fry.
Didnt know what to expect from the pigeon but was surprised that it actually tasted great!! The pork curry was green from mustard leaves. I just dug in with my fingers, sleeves rolled up. The distinct flavor of the fresh mustard leaves were welcome!!!!. I simply loved it. Oh! I dno this ladys name that suggested the dishes, but so helpful and humble, if ur reading this, u know who u are.
Try it out if u want to check out authentic Assamese flavors without robbing a bank.
Damage was 605 rs and it sufficed for two.

We were group of 10 ppl. We went here for authentic assamese food , but it was a huge disappointment. Very poor service from the waiters and one of them was chewing pan while serving food and he used to spit near the water service desk. The taste was very average. The veg thali was good but the non veg was definitely not upto the mark. No one even cared to ask whether we liked the food. Poor hospitality. If your are not from assam and if you are looking for some authentic food, definitely this is not the place for you. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Thanks.

Ordered their chicken with sesame seeds ..was not as good as expected.. the tanginess was more so the taste was not that good.Overall, my experience with this dish of khorikaa was not at all good

It was my first time at khorikaa. I reached here at 3:55pm one fine sunday, just 5 minutes before they were closing the kitchen and quickly ordered a no brainer- pork thali. Every single thing that they put on the thali were delicious. They gave two kinds of pork: barbequed and curry. Yum yum yum. I enjoyed it, my family and friends enjoyed it. Will I visit again? Definitely yes. Will I recommend this place to anyone? Yes ofcourse. Liked the food? Loved it. Happy tummy happy soul.

A good place for some authentic local cuisine. Service is a bit slow but that’s ok since it gives you time to have a conversation! Mostly always packed so plan on an extended time frame. Recommended 👍

We went for a trip to Arunachal Pradesh in may 2019. We started off with Guwahati from where we would go to Bhalukpong and onwards. We had heard about this place and planned to have our lunch here. The place is situated in the heart of the city. We ordered the non veg thali first. It consists of steamed rice, yellow dal, black dal, green leafy vegetables curry, two mixed veg curries, a rohu fish preparation, two local fish preparation, churney, papad, curd and pickle. The thali itself was a wholesome meal. But we hungry souls also ordered a pork dish and a chicken dish. Each and every food item was delicious. Staff were so friendly. Ambience was pleasant with traditional Assamese decor. Prices were okay. Nice experience.
The Coffee Addict
Was in town for work and had about an hour for lunch. Decided to eat in Khorikaa as Zomato said some authentic Assamese food is right here and I was standing barely 200 meters from the place.
Went in and it appeared to be a simple place with the familiar chairs, and tables “Hotels” of the past.
The Large “Xorai”, The offering tray with a stand at the bottom (one of the traditional and respected symbols of Assam used in felicitations too) at the billing counter drew my attention. It looked lovely.
Wanting to try some veg this noon so ordered bhaat (rice), Aloo pitika (Local version of a potato mash), Yellow dal and Koldil bhaji (A dry preparation of banana flowers)
The rice was steamed well, daal was good and the Aloo pitika was great. freshly done, the flavors of the chili and onions in it was awesome.
The Koldil bhaji is the best I have ever had! In fact, it was so good that I did not want to order any non-veg for the fear of interfering with this flavor!
The best Koldil bhaji ever! The earthy flavor of the dry koldil with potatoes fried in it was just terrific.
Service was average. Had to call them a few times and though just 3 tables were occupied, the pace with which they operate is kind of a slow motion. even for the bill I had to ask twice. A led down for a place that serves some authentic food.
The price is reasonable.
3rd class service..the waiters have more attitude than Recruiters of a company....for that kind of food just marry a woman...cuz that kind of simple food shouldn't have a restaurant.

This place is Awesome af. Let me give u a suggestion, dont take the thali, go for ala carte items. They will not disappoint you. We generally go there in a group of more than 10 amd been there more than 5 times in the last 1 year. We tried several items and loved those. Whenever we think of a party, Khorika for assamese cuisine or Barbeque Nation for North Indian.

Yumm yum yum is the word.. Absolutely lovely food.. A must try.. We were a mixed bunch of nonveg and veg thaaali eaters.. Loved the veg thaaali.. Different daaals rule the Assamese thaali.. Simplicity.. Varied flavours... Piping hot.. This place serves some 4 types of daal and each of them so distinct

Pork khorikha was loved by guys who ate non veg.. Go with bit of time esp if you plan to order pork.. And lot of appetite.. Stomach is full but your heart is greedy for more.
Don't be fooled by the ambience
Per person 200 maxxxxx is what you need to shell..
Going back for sure again...

Very nice hospitality and very friendly service food quality was very good what little spicy for me other wise good taste fish served was excellent

The place is great for local cuisine and they make it just right. The only problem with the place is you have to wait for hours just to get a table.. providing the demand they need to extend it or arrange something. Also there is no notice given to the decor or ambience of the place. When in rush hours the staff will hardly listen to you or give attention.

Great place for Ethnic Assamese Food, Although need to wait for quite some time for food to be ready, Ambience is pretty simple not that luxury, but neat. Ac were working perfectly to beat the heat. Staff are courteous.

A place that serves authentic assamese food, but the staff isn't very friendly. The place doesn't look very welcoming. Food tastes alright but you just want to finish and leave. I would say it's worth an experience but I might not visit again. A meal for two will cost close to 700

This place certainly satiated my craving for good/simple/authentic Assamese food. Must order the Assamese Thali which comes with Fish curry and a choice of Duck/Chicken curry.Great Price ,Great Food!

One of my fav in my list. If u wanna have a bite of pure traditional assamese thali, this place is the best to suit ur taste. The service of the staff is very good. Its a big outlet with two sections. The price is affordable.

This place is a simple quaint and cheap and offer great variety of Assamese food. There variant of sour dal is really good along with aloo ki sabzi. A must try for authentic Assamese food.

Always wanted to try a proper Assamese thali.. Googled this place and gave a try... Ambience is okay, not too luxurious... Food is great.. Tried their fish n chicken Thalis ... A very Complex taste, liked it... If u are a south Indian , you'll need salt in most of the curries. Service is top notch.. Must try : local chicken thali...
Happy dining y'all

First visit to Assam wanted to try something local. Came across this wonderfully rated restaurant. The place looks ordinary and for a second I questioned if a rating can be based on all food and be so high. I ordered a non veg meal requesting for chicken. I am no expert in Assamese food but the meal was delicious! The pea sized fried potatoes, grilled chicken, chicken khorikaa and the milky spiced dal. A really satisfying meal!

A trip to Guwahati would have been incomplete without savouring some local Assamese delicacies, so we were looking for a place that served authentic Assamese cuisine when this restaurant emerged as a better option in Zomato, also suggested by the receptionist at our hotel's front desk as the best option for Assamese food in the capital city.

The place was easy to locate using Google Maps, not that far to reach from our hotel. The eatery's located on the first floor.

The interior is simplistic and soothing to the eyes, furnished with an aquariam, walled photographs of Assamese food and legendary Assamese artistes, ethnic jars and pots on a shelf, and of course their traditional jaapi or conical hats lining the stairwell wall and decorating windows along with the famous gamusa, pieces of white rectangular cloth significant to Assamese culture.
Ambiance was cozy and homely.

We opted for the VEG AKHAJ, CHICKEN KHORIKA, AIJONG RICE and PLAIN YELLOW DAL.

VEG AKHAJ was the traditional Assamese veg thali (non-veg options are also available) served in bell metal tableware, consisting of plain rice, yellow dal, black dal, khar (Assamese starter, a class of signature dishes made with 'khar' and named after the key ingredient itself, served in the beginning of a meal), leafy vegetable fry, veg anja (veg curry), pitika (generally served as a side dish, aloo pitika is a typical Assamese comfort food of mashed potatoes sometimes mixed with chopped onions and green chillies), kharoli/panitenga (signature home-made sour pickles)/kahundi (palate-tickling mustard chutney) and kheer.
A traditional Assamese meal usually begins with a 'khar' and ends with a 'tenga' or sour dish.
All the items in the thali were delicious and worthwhile to taste.

The CHICKEN KHORIKA were roasted or barbecued chicken morsels that tasted heavenly when drizzled with the tangy juice of gondhoraj lime from the salad platter. Another Assamese-style dish that posed as an excellent accompaniment.

The AIJONG RICE along with PLAIN YELLOW DAL was an appetising combination of a variety of nutritious and aromatic Assamese rice with home-style yellow dal reminding me of the Bengali "bhaat-dal" back home. Was enough to replete one's stomach.

Since it had been the time of Bihu there at Guwahati we were given complimentary BORA SAUL or Assamese sticky rice, which had been pleasantly flavourful to end a hearty Assamese lunch.

Food was served in more than sufficient quantities. Service was also prompt.
Post-meal aniseeds were served in a brass spittoon-like container.

Overall highly impressed with the delish Assamese food and the warm hospitality of the Assamese people extended to us Bengalis. Not for once did I feel I was away from home in another state. Would love to visit Khorikaa Restaurant again the next time I'm in Guwahati. Kudos to Khorikaa! :):)

Tbh I personally didn't liked it much. The most surprising thing is that they do not have thali's.
I tried jaluk diya paro mankho (black pepper pigeon) the quantity was not much as per the price and it didn't taste well.

First time in an Assamese joint at Guwahati and the experience was amazing. Been there around 3ish but the restaurant was full, though I had managed to get a single table on a corner. Restaurant looks very simple from in and outside. Ordered a chicken thali and believe me each item was mouth watering. If you’re in Guwahati, please visit this joint.

If you are a fan of authentic Assamese food, try this place. I found the place little noisy. Go there to satisfy your cravings for Axomiya khana but if you are expecting a good ambience with some nice music, then look for other options.

Khorikha is a must visit when you are in Guwahati. Located near Railway Station of the city, it is a perfect place for a quick meal or a dinner. The thalis are the best and must try.

Decided to visit after recommendations from my friends. Ordered chicken khorika thaali, it came with a variety of side dishes... Though the chicken tasted good it was nothing extraordinary... Simple homemade dishes....
The staff was nice and cordeal... And their washrooms were clean with proper hand wash...

Coming to food it's one of the best Assamese cruisine..... Quantity is satisfactory n the ambience is too good but coming to the staffs n serving they take a lot of time.... I think they should be more fast with this regard otherwise it's appreciable

Phenomenal Assamese thali. Mustard flavored chicken tasted heavenly. Pigeon fry was also outstanding. If you have only one restaurant to visit in Guwahati, then this places has it all for all your North eastern craving

A decent place. Given the price point the service and ambiance is good. Food was also good but scope for improvement, but don't think would revisit.

I ordered a chicken thali, a mutton thali followed by the duck curry which they said it was on their special menu for the day. I found the food to be delicious, and they served chicken khorika which was mouth watering. The service was not satisfactory but I loved the overall experience. The restaurant is a simple well organized one but the visit was worth it.
Sonu Pathak
Was here with friends for some authentic Assamese food tried their CHICKEN THALI, FISH THALI, DUCK DRY FRY, MUTTON THALI, well we had too much food on our platter and everything was yum. Must go place. Not a very fancy place but some good food.
Parth Badheka
If you want to have authentic Assamese food with a friendly staff, this is the place to be. Infact the owner came to our table and explained several items. Fish, meat, veg all had distinct taste. The fish in Bamboo was mind-blowing. You may just have to wait a little for the food, but trust me it is worth it.
Shriyansh Bhatnagar
Have been here before. The food was brilliant the first time. This time we had the pork thali and flavours felt a little subdued and the pork was too fatty for my liking. They can also look at keeping the place a little cleaner.

Khorikaa situated in Shillong Road, Guwahati, is an informal cafe-style dining room with traditional Assamese menu and some modern updates. This restaurant presents a mixture of indigenous style with little modern variations. It is popular for Chicken khorikaa, which is a premium Assamese dish prepared using succulent pieces of chicken, Bamboo shoot with a distinct flavor of exotic herbs.
Somnath Datta
The pork-chicken cooked in bamboo was just amazing. Came back next evening for more. Try all the special items on the 2nd page of the menu. They take time to prepare but the results are absolutely the best

Fantastic traditional Assamese restaurant. We ordered Veg Akhaj and a Non Veg Akhaj with Fish Khorikaa. Both of them had an awesome taste. A centrally located one with pleasant atmoaphere. Food served is hygienic and fresh. Their Layout is in traditional style with the ambience the same, the staff are polite and cooperative. Overall a good expeeience.
Abhishek Anantharaju
Right off the bat, I'll tell you the service is stupid bad. The food is good enough, I guess. We ordered the full meals and it wasn't much to remember
Achiban Nessa
Nice atmosphere. Amazing food. The staff is courteous. We ordered the veg thali. The quantity was ample. And the taste was authorized. Also the ambience gives a traditional Assamese vibe.
Kamakshi Shenoy
I wanted to try authentic Assamese dishes and someone suggested Khorikaa. This restaurant is centrally located on GS road. We ordered a veg thali and a paneer thali. Both are the same, but the paneer thali comes with an addition of a paneer curry and grilled paneer. The curries were mildly spiced. Loves the sophie pickle and the herb & mustard chutney served along. We ordered fruit cream as well, but I somehow didn’t like the taste of the raw cooking cream. The service is good.

A good place to enjoy authentic Assamese dishes.
Myself being from Assam but brought up in Delhi had never got a chance to experience various cuisines of Assam. Hence I was very excited to visit this place.
We ordered one of their famous non veg thalis and signature main course dish which was chicken bamboo shoot.
The chicken bamboo shoot was delicious. The entire good experience just good flattened when I found semi cooked potatoes on my chicken Bamboo shoot dish. It was disappointing that they are not even preparing the ingredients properly.
Also since we were unaware of their thali system, we had to order rice and side dishes seperately even after having their thali. Later we got to know that the items provided in thali could be refilled. But the staff never asked us or informed us about it. Any non regular customer can get fooled like this.
We also ordered chicken dry fry but the waiter missed to note it down and after having the entire lunch when we were already full and then we realised that one of the items did not arrive. Since we were already full, we requested the waiter that if that order has not be taken, then please cancel it but the waiter instead said we never ordered the dish coz such mistakes never occur from their side. I think they have a problem of not taking criticism in a sporting way.
Nevertheless if I keep aside their semi cooked potatoes of chicken bamboo shoot and their clever cost cutting staff members, I loved the place and I would definitely recommend it to other people.

Absolutely Divine

I had been to Khorika while I was travelling to Tawang. It was highly rated by my Assamese friend, and it was beyond my expectations. The service was alright, but the food, oh my God! Each and every dish I ate was so flavourful and so different. A simple veg akhaj (thali) was so delicious that I fell in love with assamese cuisine in a second! I also tried the banana stem khar and leafy veg boil, both were out of the world! One place every traveller should visit to understand true assamese food!
Nikita Talukdar
My 1st visit was just awesome.. I planned a surprise for my boyfriend really they did a great job the decoration was awesome... The staff was really very attentive... The food was truly yummy we ordered Assamese veg thali, pork with teel, local chicken with teel n paror jhul with potato...

And last but not the least they served us cold drink and starters which was a complimentary from #Pallavi Baa#
It's a must visit place n make ur loved one feel special with some Assamese mouth watering dishes
Ambience - 5/5
Food quality- 5/5
Service- 5/5

I'm just going to visit this place again & again

Lovely Authentic Assamese food and Courteous staff is what defines this place best. A great treat to your taste buds for local food.. Loved their cuisine. Definitely be visiting again.. Thanks for a great experience and wonderful ecstacy.

Situated at the heart of Guwahati Khorikaa is a sprawling restaurant offering authentic Assamese cuisine. They offer various kinds of Assamese thalis along with a la carte menu.In thalis each and every veg dishes were yummy. You can add fish, chicken, pigeon or duck meat depending upon the thali you’ve ordered.Boy they were tasty! We have ordered Chicken curry with bamboo shoots and it had a refreshing taste.Staffs were cordial, service was prompt.Only negative point was the wash room which didn’t match with the rest of the experience. So if you wanna taste something traditional you must knock at the Khorikaa.
Manash Deuri
Hands down beat place for ethnic food in pocket friendly rates. And amazingly, over the years the taste has remained constant. Its a feat in a place like ours i believe
Keep up the great work
Karikorlang Kharkongor
This place serves authentic Assamese cuisine and is located near SB Deorah college near Ulubari.
It's ambience is very simple and does not go overboard. However the food is good.
I tried their veg Thali along with Ari fish curry and I could not have asked for anything better. The veg Thali was decently priced at 120 rupees and the fish curry at 185. The waiters were smart and attentive.
However one thing I noticed that some of their dishes like pork was served but was not mentioned in their menu.
The washrooms though clean need to be renovated to meet standards of other restaurants.
Parking may be a problem but then again I was lucky to find a spot 50meters from the restaurant.
If you are looking for a good place to try authentic Assamese cuisine priced decently compared to other restaurants, then this has to be your pick.
Definitely recommended.

Guess one of the must visit place if u in guwahati.... Had the fish thali ... Was good and well done... Only thing I feel they should add some chutney or spicey achaar to the table... Desert was good however can be better... Staff was good interactive and trained.....

Hello all

My experience with Khorikaa has always been amazing. I have been eating here for a while now. They serve one of the best Assamese Authentic Thalis and only because of its food I have rated it 4.

The only problem with this place is there staffs. They don’t really co operate well.
Souhardh Gudur
I ordered pork khorika , fried rice and pigeon fry. Pork khorika was just amazing. Fried rice was just average and pigeon fry had lot of onions and less of pigeon. But overall a nice experience for an outsider
Khuman
Very much disappointed with this place. Everything they served in the thali was cold except the rice and the chicken gravy. Apart from that the price for certain items except the thali is much higher and the taste was also not good.
Padmashree Baglari
Me and my frend went here....nd we eat thali with chicken bamboo shoot and pork dry and it was just so tasty......I can't describe...we want to go there again......its just I think when we went there we have to wait a little bit I think they should extend there places .....
Debashish Mohanty
This place came highly recommended from my friends at Guwahati, so immediately after checking in to our hotel I and a friend hired a local ride to reach there. I had already started drooling by the time we were seated at our table, thanks to the smell emanating from the dishes served on the table right next to us. Went through the menu more thoroughly than I had through my text books before an exam. Felt like ordering everything, but my friend is a little less enthusiastic and when it comes to meat, a little less adventurous. After a lot of debate and arguments settled down for mutton, pork, duck and country chicken with the regular thalis. It was more than 4 people could eat and they were giving extra rice and dal.
Food was superb, heavenly and for 30 minutes everyone in the place including the waiters kept looking as us in amazement as we ate. The only sound during those half hour were grunts, sighs, scraping, lip smacking, slurping and chewing.
The duck was by far the best I have ever tasted, pork curry was superb, country chicken could be better, but hey do you really think I would complain? The 3 different types of dal, the mashed potatoes with a hint of mustard oil, the lai sak, veg curry everything were out of the world.
We managed to finish everything served, and ordered some coke to help ease the heaviness. Happy and full to the palate, we eased our denims/belts and decided to walk the 5 km to our nest so that we could sleep peacefully.
Food - Superb (9/10)
Service - Superb (9/10)
Decor - Good (7/10)
Value for money - 9/10
MUST VISIT
Wonderful restaurant. Staffs are very polite and helpful. Been here for Assamese food for the 1st time. Really enjoyed it. Chicken with Bamboo shoots tasted good along with the Sticky rice wich was served with Honey and Fresh Cream separately. We also had Chicken Khorikha, which was not tender but a bit hard, it's kind a like of tandoori chicken without tandoori masala's. And also had Chicken in Hollow Bamboo,it tasted the best. And also had veg fried rice, which is very different in look and taste frim what i had eaten before. Overallt, good food. 1st time in Assam and Assamese food.

Had been here last year, loved it then, loved it now. Visited this place again today with 2 friends. We had the vegetarian Thali along with pork khorika. Amazing finger licking taste.

Homely simple food but so tasty. Also ordered sticky rice in bamboo hollow. They serve it with cream and liquid jaggery. It was sweet and tasty. Authentic and delicious assamese food. The most surprising part was that we were full and our stomach was bursting, but the bill was just around 800/-. Must visit place when in guwahati.

My first experience in khorikaa was amazing. It was lovely. It is pocket friendly, trust me. And it is clean, hygienic and all will love it, for sure.

The place failed to catch up to my expectations...its serves simple assamese dishes , my favorite among all was the pork curry, it was very tender and juicy.

One of the best rated Assamese restaurant in the city and for a reason. Good food, moderately priced and quick service.
Since I am not too familiar with the city/cusine, i can't comment if this place serves the best assumes thali, but I can certainly say the served food was good. Had a meat thali along with fried fish. Both of them were good.
Ambiance is simple but they have a huge sitting space. Overall a nice place for meals.

My expectations were quite high as I was back in Assam after ages...About 10+ years....And since I do not have my family here anymore....And being an Assamese wanted to rekindle my taste buds with the known assamese cuisine which I have missed so badly....And boy was I disappointed ....I ordered Joha Rice, Duck with Bamboo Shoot, Pork Khorikaa and Ari Machor Tenga....Rice was mushy and sticky which I not what I remember Joha rice as...It was some cheap joha rice, Duck with Bamboo Shoot was minus bamboo shoot and lots of tomato making it almost taste like tenga jhol, pork khorikaa was okie though could have been much better if they would have smoked it....The only saving grace was the Ari Mach Tenga anja and the Kaji Nemu....Wish I had another option....I so miss the Assamese food....

One of the best assamese restaurant to have lunch & dine with family n friends. . . The staffs were really very good. . Service was too fast n inspite of the crowd they manage to keep their costumers happy. . . I would indeed say its one of the best, loved going there. . . Food was too tasty except i didnt like the pork with bamboo shoot whereas the veg thali, pork curry, chicken curry with potato were a delight

Been there after quite a few years as I don't stay in guwahati these days. Not the same Khorikaa it used to be once. Taste wise and service wise, the growth is negative. Don't think would like to go there again.
P. S. every young couple is not a college going couple. Discriminated.

A must visit restaurant for Assamese cuisine lover. A thali with khorika (with choice of meat) is a must try dish here. Love the ambiance and the politeness of the staff. Home made pickle and karoli is superb.

One of the amazing Assamese restuarants in town. Service is nice. Food is delicious. They can improve on the paneer tikka, but apart from that, it was an awesome evening. Thanks to the team.

I would like to recommend this place for all ethnic and traditional food lovers. They have been serving good Veg and Non Veg Thalis. The one thing which I would recommend and insist is the food served and quality , taste perfectly matches with the price they have charged. I hv been one of the regular customers of it as it has never disappointed me. Hope it serves well for all of its customers in future as well 😊👍

Good for having an ethnic assamese meal. The assamese thali is great out there. They even serve in traditional assamese dish (kahi) and bowls. What could be improved for about the restaurant is it's interior.

Superb food! Enjoyed my first local meal I. Guwahati. Really tasty stuff. Only the wash room space could be cleaner. Rest of the space is cool

This Assamese food place is really excellent. When I first taste the food, I felt like a heaven dish taste.Presentation of the plate was also beautiful. Traditional Cereal Bowls (Kahor bati) and plates are been used to serve the dishes. They also serve kheer which is very tasty 😋. Interior wise it’s not so impressive but quality of the food is awesome. Do visit these place whenever you are around.

Nice service.
Tasty and homely food with less oil. Provides with extra amount of rice whenever and how much required.
We also had Chicken with Bamboo Shoot and Pork with Bamboo Shoot. Both were tasty as well with perfect amount of colour and quantity.

Visit khorika, after long on last Monday. It was my veg day so ordered two veg thalis and til chicken for my friend. unfortunately they served mustard chicken instead of til chicken. Taste was ok but definitely we are not satisfied with the service.

This is *the* place to experience real assamese food. Me and my family had been visiting Guwahati and even the hotel (where we were put up)staff and taxi drivers recommend us this restaurant for genuine Assamese food. The vibes of the place are really good, helpful staff, clean utensils and setup and good lighting. The portion sizes are good and food is tasty. It wasn't too expensive also. We ordered the veg thali, with the vegetarian delicacies(all northeast dals are watery). Coconut milk chicken (tangy and fresh) and fish curry. Was a great experience. 5 stars.
