Review Heritage Khorikaa - Guwahati

Rajib Bhattacharjee
Authentic Assamese cuisines can be enjoyed at this beautiful food joint. There is a wide variety of veg and non veg items. The service needs to be improved a little bit. The waiting time for the food is long which needs to be improved. The taste of all the items are superb the mutton was tender and well cooked. The food is served in kansa (traditional metal alloy) which makes it more unique and enhances the old serving tradition.

I always prefer to visit the Haritage Kharika whenever I wanna have some Assamese food. It has nice ambiance, hygiene with quality food. I specially like the chicken with bamboo shoots here. And my friends visit for the pork items here. It's very delicious according to them. The staff are friendly. I also like the yummy kheer which they serve as a complementary desert. If you are in Guwahati and wanna have a good Assamese thaki , I surely recommend this restaurant.

Assamese food with most authentic taste. It's a must try if you want to understand good of assam. It's one thing even if you are visiting guwahati you should eat and give your taste a new flavour. Love of assam on plate to curb your hunger. My husband tried duck with potato, and he said this flavor reminded him of his childhood his dad cooking on tracking. Those memories were very dear to him and your food reminds him of them It's special 🌟🌟 Thanks to Chef Atul for bringing this GEM to guwahati. 💯

Location: In Silpukhuri, close to Guwahati Club. Ambience: Simple decoration, large tables, washroom available. Service: Was ok, responsive to customers. But waiter unable to tell details of items in Hindi, which is a problem for non-Assamese to understand the dishes. Ordered: * Vegetarian Thali: Priced at Rs 190, all items could be repeated, incl the dessert. Few items were really tasty, couple of items not so. Overall, quite good. * Duck Curry: nice gravy with tender duck pieces and potatoes, not hot and spicy, but excellent taste. Overall, good place for an Assamese meal. Would have been good if they had small details of the various dishes in the menu itself. Recommended!

Authentic Assamese cuisine… we ordered pork thali, chicken thali and chitol fish wrapped in banana leaves …I loved the fish, smoked pork and chicken… however the service was too slow. Had to wait for more than an hour.

The quality of food was top notch . Pure Assamese delight I would say . Very homely and fresh . We had office party here . We ordered veg thali and chicken curry. The quality and quantity served was sufficient. The fish chutney was amazing that came with it . Overall taste 9/10 . Recommended go for it if you want to taste pure Assamese food. Very healthy 2nd Visit - Tried Veg thali and Pork with bamboo shoot

The menu was full of Assamese delicacies and I tried the Veg thali, that was cooked to perfection. The spices used were flavorful, while the overall flavor was light and delicate. The presentation of the dishes was beautiful and the flavors were balanced and harmonious. The service was fast and efficient, and the atmosphere was pleasant and cozy. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an authentic Assamese experience.

Great place to try Assamese Thali. Had veg, chicken and pork options. Lots of variety, well presented food that was tasty.

Most of the dishes that we wanted to order were not available at the place, like khorika Fish, Xoru mas (small fish)fry etc. I went with my friends who were from outside of Assam, and I was a little bit lost that I took them to Heritage Khorika to taste authentic Assamese cuisine.

One of the greatest experiences. I loved this place for its vibe and also for the food quality. What an authentic site.

The food was good, the ambience was quaint and the service was satisfactory. All in all, a great place for some local fare.

too long a wait for the menu and then 50 minutes for the food to be served. the mutton was so spicy that we had to return it. the worst experience with Assamese food. those whose moms or wives cook good food you will be frustrated with a visit to this over hyed restaurant
Navadeep Kalita
Staff is definitely very rude... saw them even asking a couple to return even though they reached the restaurant at 7.10 pm... even we were made to wait more than half an hour before they came to take order... I hope the staff remain humble and serve better in coming days... never faced any worse service than this

Food was good but the service is very bad. Service was slow although there wasn't much crowd. Also the waiters seemed that they wanted us out of there as while we were still having our food, they served us sweet which is usually served at the end. Overall, is wouldn't like to visit it again unless someone else is paying (that too if the person doesn't agree to go some place else).

Authentic Assamese food and thalis are provided here. Food quality is very homely and delicious.<br/>Great ambiance and good service.<br/>Washroom area needs to be maintained

Good food. Although I wished the taste of each dish was taken care of for the veg thali. I had ordered Pork dry fry too, but to my disappointment the meat turned out to be extremely chewy and hard. Proper care has to be taken when sourcing meat. You do not expect this quality from a restaurant who is headed by a reputed chef.

The place was recommended by a friend to dine the assamese thali and it surely did not disappoint. The decor and environment is simple and easy. Had ordered the khorika thali. Do note that there is only veg thali. The thali was simple, yet abundant. Thali composed of locally available vegetables curry, daal and rice. Most interesting dish was subji made of locally available grass. Also had ordered a fish dish and chicken. Both were superb. Simple and elegant. Tinge of flavor of mustard and sourness of bamboo. Loved it. Pics attached.

A very nice and cool place for having home-like meals. The place is easily visible from normal traffic. Been to this place many times with friends and family. The ambience of the place is also good. Coming to the food the place serves ethnic assamese which are very good in taste. I have tasted ari fish and veg thali. The service of the staff is also good.<br/><br/>Overall rating:<br/>Food quality: 5 out 5<br/>Staff service: 5 out 5

Though I am writing the review I visited it some months ago.Located in the almost centre of the city to satisfy the homely cravings of food lovers for authentic assamese cuisine.<br/>Staffs are quite cool and they serves food there with love.<br/>We ordered two veg thalis with pork dry fry.Good homely taste and yes When I craved for food prepared by my mum then I find these restaurant to fullfilled my cravings.

A right place to try Assamese cuisine. The ambience is very good which gives the real feeling of being in Assam. The food is delicious. Had it's duck curry, chicken curry, mutton curry, bhokua maas curry, mua maas fry. And all were very delicious. The staff is very good. And it's a totally family restaurant.

Always keen to go local when visiting places. Of course, this came with big recommendations, and Gordon Ramsay, of course!!<br/><br/>The best way to locate this place is to get off at the HP Gas Station and walk to the building behind. Don’t follow the various directional maps. A quick walk up to the restaurant on Level 1. <br/><br/>We decided to go with a variety of non-veg (of course)!! The fish khorikaa - barbecue of small fishes, was great. Not crunchy enough to eat the bones, so do be careful to take out the central bone. The chicken in bamboo shoot was exceptional for the gravy - the bamboo gives a fresh feeling to the palate. We ordered the broiler type chicken and not the local chicken - I think they need to look closer into sourcing this, was a bit smelly. Maybe better to order the local chicken variation. That was followed by the pork in sesame gravy - have never had a more unique dish. Deep in wonderful flavors and a interesting green color. The pork pieces were a medley of fat and meat - though I did find the meat a bit stiff. We ended with the payasam - light, tasty and not too sweet. <br/><br/>My overall thoughts is that this place definitely needs to be visited. However, their meats needs to be handled better. Where they definitely need to improve are on service - a very indifferent bunch of service staff - like they have taken things for granted and maybe don’t enjoy what they were doing. And the loos - it is just not acceptable to have such rundown loos in any establishment - reflects very poor hygiene and taste (sic) of the management. <br/><br/>And I did notice Chef Atul head off in the middle of a busy Saturday afternoon lunch seating!! I guess he had more important things to do. <br/><br/>Worth a visit - but unlikely for a repeat!!

If you go for dinner and ordered the most popular veg thali (veg akhaj), they will serve you only half of the number of items they have. They will not serve you all items of the thali. When asked why they did so, they just give the excuses that those items are finished for the day, but they will not inform you when you are ordering it. WORST ATTITUDE of management. AVOID THIS PLACE. There many more resturants in the city which serve authentic assamese food. THIS PLACE SERVE ONLY ill ATTITUDE.

Hey loved the outlet N of course the food. Had the thali with paro (pigeon) mangxo along with pork.. loved it. However staff needs to be attentive and prompt.. need to come out of lahe lahe attitude..
Ruchika Phukan
One of the best places serving ethnic Assamese food. The ambience is quite cosy and the food is great. The service is prompt too. Overall a very nice place if you want to enjoy Assamese food.
Raktim Engti
It is one of the finest place for Assamese cuisine. We ordered veg akhaj with 2 items of fish. The taste is awesome. Ambience is fantastic. Prompt Service with friendly staff. Overall a good experience.
Riyan Mazumdar
One of the best Assamese cuisine restaurant in Guwahati... We had Assamese veg thali which includes Rice, Yellow Dal, Black Dal, Pitika (Mashed potatoes), 2 type of veg curries... We also ordered Chicken Khorikha (Barbecued) and Duck with Bamboo shoots.. Kheer was served in the end as desserts... Food is top notch... Ambience is gr8 with pictures from around Assam.. Must visit once and you will be their fan...

Ambience is good but seems a bit dark. . . Food is so so we tried the veg thali which was good but the kheer served wasnt that good. . . Which really disappointed me. . . Staff n serice was okay but i would appreciate them if they do focus on servicing nicely to their costumers

A friendly place with good food. The ambience is cool. Will love to visit again and again. The displayed photographs are feast for the eyes.

This place is nothing compared to the khorika, Ulubari one. The ambience was too dark and no AC was running inside in this hot weather. The washrooms were so dirty and the constant banging of dishes in the washing area was so annoying. The service was too slow in giving us the menu and in serving the order. Coming over to the food part, it wasn't upto the mark at all. The veg thali was the usual one but I had a problem with the chicken curry. I ordered for local chicken curry with potato but somewhere I felt that I was cheated with some broiler pieces in it. The hilsa fish wasn't fresh either, was a bit hard inside...maybe it was a frozen one. Totally disappointed with the food.

Heard of this place as being an authentic restaurant for assamese cuisines. Visited the place on 24th july 2018 and we ordered Veg thali as they were not serving non-veg thali. Along with that we ordered chiken(broiler) fry. The worst part of the restaurant is their service. The waiter came to take the order after 10min we took our seats. Order was served after almost 20min. Food was average. My mom cooks better than that. The thali had 2dal, one alu potol mashed torkari, dhekia khak, alu pitika and khar. Quantity was very less. Overall I would rate<br/><br/>Ambience- 2<br/>Parking-3<br/>Location-3<br/>Food-3<br/>Service-2<br/><br/>Lot more to work on service and taste of the food.
Abhishek Lahkar
Been to many ethnic assamese restaurants but I found this the worst in many aspects. Most of the things from the menu were not available. The food was nothing special. We can say it's below average.we get better quality foods in roadside small hotels. It was my first visit and will be last.<br/>I won't recommend it to anyone else.
Banajit Bharali
Simply, ethnic at its best. The quintessentials of Assamese cuisine can be found right here. The food here is healthy, light and extremely delicious. I ordered veg thali, pork with laai saak (লাই শাক), pigeon with potatoes. All of the dishes were at their best. Kudos to khorika! A must try.

Ambiance - The place has wooden interiors and gives a glimpse of Assamese culture. <br/><br/>Food - If you want to try authentic Assamese cuisine then this place is undoubtedly the best in town. Assamese cuisine is tasty and focus more boiling than frying. I think their head chef Atul Lahkar has mastered this art. <br/><br/>They serve veg unlimited thali in a brass cutlery which is just 120 bugs. <br/><br/>Must try - For Vegetarians - Thali, boiled vegetables and paneer sesame<br/><br/>                  For Non- Vegetarians - Dishes made out of duck, pigeon and river fish<br/><br/>                  Dessert - Kheer ad Bora Rice with cream. <br/><br/>Veg Thali - The taste of thali was authentic and there was very less oil in any dish. The thali had following items -<br/><br/>Rice - The rice used is broken one which is normally used in the villages of Assam. <br/><br/>Daim ( Yellow Dal) - It has mild flavor of garlic and a pleasant taste of the main dal used. <br/><br/>Rating - 4/5<br/><br/>Mati Mahor Dali (Black Dal) - The consistency is thin and with a unique taste of mustard and local chilli. Black dal is one of the main dish eaten in any Assamese home. <br/><br/>Rating - 4/5<br/><br/>Tenga Anga ( Kadhi ) - The kadhi's consistency is thin unlike the usual one and has balanced taste of gram flour and curd. The taste of pakoda is amazing. You will love this dish.<br/><br/>Rating - 4.5/5<br/><br/>Xaak ( Mix Veg ) - It is dry subzi made only of seasonal and locally available vegetables like white gourd, bottle gourd, potato and sweet gourd. The taste is simple and not at all spicy. <br/><br/>Rating - 3.5/5<br/><br/>Dhekia or Lai ( Leafy Vegetable based dish ) - It is purely made of locally available leafy vegetables which boiled and sauted in mustard oil. You will strong taste of individual leaves used. <br/><br/>Rating - 4/5<br/><br/>Aloo Pitika - A simple dish made of mashed potato and chilli with a strong taste of mustard oil.<br/><br/>Rating - 4/5<br/><br/>Home made pickle - A pickle having mango, local Assamese chilli and olives prepared in mustard oil<br/><br/>Rating - 3.5/5<br/><br/>Kheer or rice pudding - Could have been better as it was mild sweet and no dry fruits used. It has thin consistency which is unusual for a kheer.<br/><br/>Rating - 3/5

Went there with a group of friends. First thing was the location. As it is inside a small lane not many new people can see the place and know about it. It's quite difficult to find. Coming inside, the ambience and environment was good with good lighting and books to read. Now the food, we ordered veg thaalis along with fried pigeon and chicken with bamboo shoots. The variety in the thaali was good and the taste was awesome too giving a authentic Assamese flavour and taste. The chicken was great along with the quantity in accordance to the price. The pigeon was also great. Overall it was a good impression considering the amount and quantity. The only negative part we faced was that we had to wait almost an hour for the order although the place was almost empty. They took long to serve. Otherwise the service was good.
ABHIJIT BHARALI
The place serves good Assamese cuisine with a variety of options. The best chefs are behind the kitchen which give justice to the delicacies. The bamboo shoot items and the Khorika is a must taste. The place has also maintained the essence of the local culture through the cuisine.

Assamese thali: smoked duck, local dal bhaat served in panctattva thaal made by Master @chefatul.<br/><br/>Beautiful place with hygienic environment. The best part about this restaurant is that all the raw vegetables, spices etc. are purchased fresh everyday and then made by Masterchef Atul himself. The service is fantastic and staff is very friendly. The food will activate and plays with your tastebuds like never before and you will remember the taste of Assamese cuisine forever.... PURE AUTHENTIC local food at Heritage Khorikaa!

Full points for branding and explanation of the vision.<br/>The experience was at par to Kasturi's in Kolkata if not lesser exciting.<br/><br/>The service comforting. We thought we would find something different from the Bengali cusine, however the spread very similar to it.<br/><br/>The pictures set up on the walls and the Assamese culture set the ambience very well. Not to forget the copper utensils that the food is served in.
Rashmita Das
Traditional Assamese Cuisines at it's best can be said in this place. Perfect place for perfect relaxation. Perfect environment. From the behavior of the staff to the wall paintings. All are just much more than perfect. 5stars to this place. The only thing that's not right is the loved dish of the Assamese people a.k.a "payokh". The taste is good but not the texture. But no worries, it can be improved❤

The place is pathetic...the wasrooms are very dirty. The service is extremely poor. Nobody bothers serve water &even provide glasses. The food served is vry cold & doesnt taste good. I would absolutely not recommended to come here....vry bad

AC doesn't work at all.<br/>Washroom is in pathetic stage.<br/>Nobody takes order. Suddenly in the middle of taking order people will go away serve food to others and come back.<br/>Service is extremely poor. Power gone. Food absolutely cold and pre-prepared. Infrastructure is bad. Nobody bothers to make sure that customers are comfortable or not.

Awesome experience in assamess authentic cuisine. I've order chicken with bamboo shoot and pork with black sesame and the give us payas as a complementary.

Went there for traditional Assamese food and was not disappointed at all. The variety in the menu excites one while ordering. I had the pigeon curry which was very tender and for starters I had barbeque pork which although was tough was very well seasoned.
Madhurima Chakraborty
Had my Assamese thali which I always love in a brightly lit ambience. They serve delicious Khorika (BBQ meat or fish). An enriching traditional experience.

It's good for those who are fond of Assamese cuisine.. Ambience is beautiful.. Value of Money is quite affordable.. Taste is also average as I am not so fond of Assamese cuisine

Guwahati ulubari Khorikaa restaurant is better than this Heritage Khorikaa restaurant..<br/>most of the item which one written on their menu card is not available. waiter is not trained.. all waiter is not wearing their uniform. customer service is not good.
Manas Sarma
Very poor customer service. Customers are misinformed; you do not get what you order. The waiter that served us food had no idea what food was being cooked. Hope to not dine here again.
Anand Ahuja
the place is crowded we ordered chicken curry and veg thali ..but the food served to us was not hot after complaining staff replied since it's our closing time we can't help you out...
Bidisha Bhattacharya
Well this place genuinely deserves a five star. Being an axomia i cant resist myself from paror mankho, chicken cooked with bamboo shoot, khar, matimahor dali and most importantly kheer after that served as the sweet dish. So if you visit Guwahati and you want to try out the assamese ethnic dishes do visit khorikaa.👍👍

Heritage Khorikaa is situated in silpukhuri area, behind Goswami service petrol pump. It is one of the few restaurants serving traditional styled Assamese cusine. It's a good place to have a healthy and wholesome Assamese meal.<br/>This place is strictly for people who likes to eat... rice and non veg items( fish, chicken, duck, mutton, pork & pigeon)....people seeking vegetarian items or dal/roti and paneer or people who wants to have snacks, should avoid this place!<br/>Review<br/>Food- the menu in Zomato is quite old, they have revised the prices.<br/>Veg thali is ₹120+ GST. Veg thali comprises of rice, dal, sabji, aloo pitika, etc. It's quite average, but u can have it refilled again and again....but, it might be a better option to order ala-carte.<br/>Duck curry is awesome in this place.<br/>Mutton curry is also very tasty...it's worth a try.<br/>They have various fish curries and fries and steamed fishes...which are a part of assamese cusine. They are well cooked and good.<br/>Ambience- its decent, beautiful pictures of Assam and northeastern states have been portrayed in the walls.<br/>I found the lighting to be little dim...they could have used little more ambient lighting.<br/>Service- service is little slow, it takes around 20-30mins on average to get your food. Staffs are average. Nothing much to comment on.<br/><br/>Overall, Heritage Khorikaa is a good place to have a meal with friends and family if you are feeling lazy to cook at home...and still want to eat home styled Assamese food.<br/>It's strictly not a place for snacks or quick bite.

Had a dilemma between Paradise and this. Finally based on friend's experience, we decided to visit here. Ordered the main Thali and as I am vegetarian i order potato fry as an extra and my friend ordered a fish dish(steamed inside banana leaf with mustard Masala). Because of his dish, it took long time for our Thali to come. But yeah, as they thought to serve everything together the delay is justifiable. Never thought potato fry would be just a french fry type. There is nothing like a touching item in Assamese Thali(for my taste buds). But yeah the Thali was good and so as the rice. It was like having a nutritious/medicinal Thali and homely food. The sweet (kheer) was also of mild sweet. But yeah, got to try the Assamese Thali for the first time and it was good. It's just that, Assamese food is not my cup of tea 😃
Rachit Saboo
A very good quick assamese thali joint. Though vegeterians dont get much option other than the thali but still a place worth going to try assamese food.

Ambiance: it was average.<br/><br/>Food: Ordered veg thali, with pigeon meat curry and chicken bbq....<br/>The veg thali lacked some main Assamese dishes and the taste was not upto the mark...<br/>The pigeon meat was well cooked and tasty but it was too oily....oil was occupying half of the curry bowl...😑<br/>The chicken bbq (khorika) lacked some spices and it was average too...<br/><br/>Service: quick service with a friendly staff.

FOOD taste: 9 out of 10<br/>Food quantity : 10 out of 10<br/>Ambience : 8 out of 10<br/>Value for money : 10 out of 10<br/>Service : 9 out of 10<br/>Recommend : Yes<br/><br/>This is one of the most under-rated restaurant in Guwahati. With great food and an awesome location at the centre of the city, this place deserves more attention.!<br/><br/>This is an awesome place for a dinner. For both family and friends. They serve awesome authentic assamese food and the Price is very reasonable.!<br/><br/>Five of us went there for dinner. We ordered five veg Thalis, one 'chicken bambooshoot', and one 'pork with ow tenga'.! They served the chicken and pork dishes in two big bowls. The quantity of meat was more than enough for 5 people with around 10 to 12 pieces of chicken/pork in each dish. The pork was very tender and perfectly cooked. The chicken dish was also equally delicious. Cooked in assamese style with very little or no artificial flavor or Masala.! Both the dishes were 250 bucks each.!<br/>The veg Thali is really a great value for money. You get so much for only 100 bucks. And to top that you get unlimited rice.!<br/><br/>Total 1000 bucks for 5 ppl. What else can you ask for?!<br/><br/>*Free Parking available.!<br/>

Went with my parents over there. Beautiful place. Nice authentic Assamese food. Dishes with bamboo shoot were delicious. Glasses and cutlery could have been of better quality. The washroom was horrible. Value for money 💰 Great job overall 👏👏

An authentic Assamese restaurant, serving what I would like to believe Assam's heritage of food. I went here with a friend's family, and we had mutton thali, the mutton being cooked along with dal. I didn't think that would be appetizing, but boy I was wrong! Didn't get a chance to order desserts, but the main course was way beyond my expectations. Only if the decor was a little bright, this would be a 5 star place for me.

Its a delightful experience to have assamese food over here. The duck fry is simply fab. The pork items are good too. With friendly service and good food this place makes come over again and again.

If you want to know what Assamese Thali tastes like, this is your place. Genuine Taste. Plenty of Non-Veg Options too. Ambience is good. Service is quick too.

When it comes to Assamese authentic food the first option that comes to your mind is the khorikaa be it Heritage khorikaa. Staying away from home it always feels home to be in the heritage khorikaa. The simple and old way of cooking Assamese dishes always reminds of home.So guys if you are missing home be there. 👌

A restaurant is not all about food and ambience all the time!! The behaviour of the people matter too!! If I had a option to rate in #ZERO, I would still prefer to rate "-" points!! The servents are extremely rude. Don't visit this place to spoil to mood. There are other authentic Assamese restaurant around. You will get pissed they way they behave.

When it comes to Assamese cuisine, Khorikaa and Heritage Khorikaa dominates the scene. Perhaps only because both of them are older than Gams,Bor Luit, etc. Visited today. Ordered Veg Akhaaj, Seasame Chicken and Pork Khorika. Everything was so-so. I was all excited when the pork arrived. But to my utter disappoinment, it was extremely chewy. Felt like rubber. The ambience is dim and gloomy. It would be better if they allow some sunlight to enter. The only plus point was the staff. The boy was very generous and friendly.

We went here on our trip to Guwahati while looking out for authentic Assamese Cuisine. The ambience is very nice. The staffs were smiling and courteous. We ordered Seasonal Veg Thali along with Fish Curry in Mustard and Brinjal Fry for 3 of us. Whereas for remaining 3 of us we took Steamed Rice, Pigeon Meat Fry, Duck Meat Fry and Chicken Curry. Each and every item was delicious and within the budget.

A place where u can have a satisafactory lunch or dinner with ur family. Something u will feel that u are having it in ur home only. People do go there with their family and enjoy their food whole heartedly. The owner means the chef is very gentle and friendly. He cooks it with love and i guess thats what make even the simple food so very tasty. Even the staffs are good. It remains packed most of the Sunday noons.

No matter how many fancy authentic restaurants I go to, my mom's home cooked food beats them all! Well, I mention this because home food is what I usually set as a benchmark whenever I'd have to decide on the quality of food in an authentic restaurant.<br/>So some friends and I hit this place for lunch (it was a treat from one of them, free food! Yay!). The interiors were appealing, they tried to replicate the countryside of Assam which was pretty appreciable. The staff was friendly as well and the service quick. The food however could honestly have been better. It lacked that zing which I always look for. The pork was dry and the duck curry could have been better. It wasn't a bad lunch, but I've had better. The payokh however was amazing! I don't usually like payokh, but I have to give it to Heritage Khorikaa for having converted me. It was absolutely lovely!<br/>Cheers!

If you are looking for Traditional authentic assamese food must visit this place. My all time favourite is chicken with bamboo shoot and pork khorika .<br/>Ambience is nice . Pricing is also good. The staffs are really welcoming.

On of the good restaurants in town for local delicacies. The local poultry dishes disappointed us a lot as the meat was not tender. Elish fish tasted stale even though the gravy was good. Apart from that the pork, fish and chicken dishes was good enough to make one's tummy happy.<br/>Overall a good restaurant where you can find homely food.

Not what expected...<br/>So the other day i went to this place as its near my office with my colleagues..<br/>We ordered Akhaz as they say, and Chicken Curry, mutton curry, fish tenga along with it...<br/>The chicken was ok but the mutton was under coocked..<br/>The fish was also not up to the mark...<br/>On the thali... the quality of the sabji that they served was verry bad... laastly the sweet dish... was too watery... dissapointed...

This is an authentic Assamese restaurant in town. We being Assamese people, no matter how much we explore all types of cusines, is satisfied most at the end of the day by that Assamese complete thali & that's where this place shines brightly. The kheer that they serve at the end is stellar. Other items such as local chicken khorikaa, pabho Maas khorikaa, koldil & paro, mutton curry etc are some of my favourites there. I've visited this place quite a number of times and have always come out with a wide grin on my face, flaunting my proud tummy that gulps down Assamese cuisine ever so happily.

1st time with "hell of a experience.."<br/>Small Dining Space + Excessive Furnitures...<br/>The side and corner seats were having no space to move your own legs.."poor interior planning"...<br/><br/>While I was looking at the MENU and it's items, the waiter told me to order fast... An award winning cook founded this restaurant and it shows in the stylish interiors, well presented food and memorable taste.<br/><br/>We were 4 travellers looking for a good place to eat, and Zomato threw up the suggestion, that didn't disappoint.<br/><br/>We ordered a tasty mutton curry and fried duck which were well cooked and delicious. The spices were traditional and had an earthen feel to them. We also ordered pepper pigeon, and it was the first time we were having pigeon. Leaving aside the texture of the bird, we enjoyed the experience.<br/><br/>The vegetarian among us, though was not too impressed with the variety/taste, but we always had an inkling that this would happen in non veg town.<br/><br/>The service was pleasant, but could be better informed.

The place is well designed and clean.<br/>The ambience is good.<br/>We ordered veg thali along with paneer red hot curry, chicken with rice flour and fish with sesame. The three dishes were great, but wasn't served hot.<br/>Next, the Thali had variety of dishes which were great.<br/>The dessert (payakh) that was served was not up to the mark, since it had a very poor consistency.<br/><br/>Overall, a good experience. Do visit once.<br/>

This place was supposed to be a splendid place as the head chef there has written such promising statements about himself directly in the menu card itself.. Along with pictures hang all over the entire place with celebrity chefs from across India n abroad.. Starting from Chef. Sanjeev Kapoor to Chef vikas khanna n the maestro himself Chef . Gordon Ramsay..<br/>But alas!! The place isn't that appealing at all.. As soon as you enter there's this weird stinky smell.. Coming to the food... Oh what can I say.. I ordered mutton curry along veg thali.. Honestly I have had better mutton curry at so many other places.. And yeah my mother cooks way better.. Only bones and curry (liquid consistency) where was the meat? N that *khar* that they provided along with the thali.. Was it even nearly as khar?! I love khar n that was the worst I have ever tasted.. Again all water and nothing there at all..and finally the dessert.. The supposed kheer( payokh) why don't you guys provide a straw along with it.. ??! Giving a tiny spoon to pick up those 2-3 grains of rice.. Seriously?! That's torture even you know that..<br/>And last but not the least.. Where did you people hired the waiters from??! Hahaha.. He doesn't even no how to talk.. When you place an order and the waiter doesn't nod nor mumbles a yes or a no.. It wasn't once every time we asked something he didn't reply.. For a second I thought maybe he's has a hearing issue so I tired communicating through sign language but no he can hear but still choose not to pay attention! I don't know was it just me whom he didn't like or was he's attitude that way!<br/><br/>Dear management team, chef Atul Lahkar, sir please look into such matter because as you are a reputed celebrity chef of Assam.. Our pride rests in your hands.. I hope to see some changes in the near future.. .<br/>I don't mean to waste my time into writing such a long review but I couldn't stand to see such a condition of such a reputed place.. All the best!<br/><br/>Thank you.<br/><br/>

If you are out for a heavy lunch.. This is the one. Though u may have to wait, your wait pays off. A full thali with pork khorikaa is my favourite.

Being a foodie i just love to taste local authentic dishes and a friend suggested Khorikaa. <br/>This place serves amazing asameese dishes.<br/>The thali was awesome. It had 3 types of dal, 1 sabzi, and mashed potato with payesh to end it all.<br/>It had almost everything in the veg category.<br/>For non veg we ordered <br/>Bhokuwa fish - this was very nicely prepared with a huge piece of soft and fresh fish in mustard gravy. <br/>Chicken with bamboo shoots - this was different and on the sour side with bamboo pieces bit it tasted pretty good.<br/>Chicken with sesame seeds - this was the star of the show. This chicken is a must try if you visit this place. Amazing and insanely tasty.<br/>Really had an amazing time here. Hope to come back when i am in the city the next time. <br/>Cheers !!

One of the best place of assamese cuisine in the city. Decent interiors, some great framed photographs depicting Assamese culture. Pork and chicken khorika are awesome. Lai hak pork is pretty good. Have had almost all the dishes in my numerous visit to this place. Must visit.

The food was good and so was the service.would strongly recommend the steamed illish(Hilsa) fish. The people around helps you choose the best dishes according to your taste....kids loved the food and the ambience along with the ethnicity of the platter served.

A great place to bask in for pure authentic Assamese Cuisine. Great interiors, with cane and bamboo furniture which is my personal favorite. I love the wall hangings pretty much. It's all about our incredible Assam. Coming to the food, the menu is laden with all Assamese dishes. Vegetarian dishes are also offered, so, no worries for my vegetarian friends! The pork dish is quite relishing, may be that's because I love pork in any way or the other! However, the fish curry didn't quite impress me. It had that typical scent of those old dead fish. So that was a disappointment. Nevertheless, the traditional brass ware really gave me a pleasure of being a "khati Oxomiya". Prices, I felt is a bit expensive.<br/>Overall, I loved the ambiance and my mother liked it so I recommend you to take your parents for a dinner date and I'm sure they will definitely like it.

The pigeon curry was amazing :) I would really recommend this place to everyone who visits Guwahati . Beautiful ambience and good service. Would definitely visit whenever I m in Guwahati .

It is one of my go to restaurant when it comes to ethnic dishes in the city but yesterday's visit was a very bad experience..we ordered pork with bamboo shoot along with a veg thali and to our surprise when they placed the order the pork with bamboo shoot was like all fat no meat, when we asked about it they replied that this dish is just like that.so we had no choice but to return disappointed.

The interiors are pretty well done here but the place has insufficient lighting.<br/>So we were all set to have Assamese food but we were a little late. So we got only what was available.<br/>Iv had the <br/>Aromatic Steamed Rice which is any normal rice<br/>Ethnic Steamed Rice which is a thick grain local rice.prefer it to the aromatic one.<br/>So we had a fish cannot recollect the name starts with an 'a' in the fried version. It was very pricy for the size. A small single piece was 200. For two pieces like in the picture 400.<br/>The mutton curry gravy was really tasty but not even a singly fleshy mutton piece. All bones. Can improve !<br/>The chicken khorikaa is pretty good. It's a roasted chicken with Assamese spices. The quantity is small. <br/>The pork khorikaa has more of fat than meat but tasty.<br/>Service is prompt.<br/>It's budget friendly for a group.<br/>Worth a try.

I love eating. I mean who doesnt!!Specially when it comes to local cuisine. During my recent visit to Guwahati I was hunting for a joint which would serve authentic local cuisine. Given the rating on Zomato I decided to give this place a shot.<br/>I took suggestion from a local friend and he mentioned Pigeon Meat, Pork Khorika and Small Fish are a must try. So I tried. And boy o boy, was I glad that I tried. It was simply delectable and incredibly tasty. no wonder this place is so highly rated. <br/>To be fair to our vegetarian friends there are options. So no worries.<br/>If you are visiting Guwahati, this place is a must try.

Hungry Panda
One of the best Assamese cuisine serving places in Guwahati . I love the veg thali alone, not to mention the other dishes. If your friend from different culture is coming to visit Ghy,this is the place you gotta take him. Aloo pitika, khaar, maati maah or dali, xaak, khorika, payokh ,manxo, maas everything is just so Axomiya and so tasty. Place is well maintained and spacious as well. No VAT.

Good place to taste traditional food items.Service is not so good though.Taste is good enough.parking place is available.Last time when I visited I had to wait for half an hour for the food to get served.<br/>Anyways good.

The service was pathetic, the staff were impolite and always in a hurry. The food was good though. There was also problem while paying the bill, overall my experience was not good. I am sceptical whether I would go back again.

The assamese restaurant where you will find all assemese food which you can have at you home easily.. Ambience is OK.. Sevice is Poor.. Food is OK.. I will rate them 3/5 only coz of the assamese theme.. or else it will be less

Located behind the Goswami Service Petrol Pump, Heritage Khorikaa serves authentic Assamese cuisine. Ambience is okay. Service is poor. Food is homely and tasty. Overall a good place to have an all out Assamese lunch or dinner with family or friends.
Chainee B Phukan
The food is superb.. traditional as the name signifies.. The pork as well as the paneer is too good.. Loved the food..<br/><br/>But the service is too poor.. you have to wait too long to recieve the extra amount u want.. Please do something about it.
Hrishiraj Talukdar
The place known for serving assamese cuisine ideal for trying out pork dishes and typical Assamese thali. You can go for the khorika chicken. Its a bit tasty out here then that of other Assamese cuisines restro.

Heritage Khorikaa located at Goswami Service is a heritage when it comes to tradition Assamese food . This place located at the heart of the city is well connected all over.<br/>It gives a proper environment , feel of authentic flavours of Assamese delightful tastes. <br/>I prefer to have the vegetable thali with some delicious duck fried , pigeon with pepper is mine favourite...kokora mangso Khorikaa is a yumm again , pork with sesame seeds is good to try for..<br/>Over all it's a fabulously , mouth watering amusing place ...

A place where you actually get ethnic foods if someone who misses old traditional food he or she should definitely visit this valuable place. The pure assamese traditional food is served here with the traditional way. The prices are very reasonable and affordable !

If you are looking for authentic Northeast Indian dishes.. this is one place you have to visit. My elder took me to this amazing restaurant for lunch, that's when I got to taste a few dishes offered by this place. I would say it's a must visit if you love to taste new cuisine and you are in Guwahati

This was the first time I was visiting this place. Went for dinner with some friends. The feel was good, of course the heritage feel is made acknowledged . The service i found good and the food too is demandable. That is , we can list the place in for Assamese cuisines and you won't regret.<br/>Recommendable.<br/><br/>P.s: A bit more to look after in the hygiene area.

I am not quite a fan of the restaurants serving ethnic Assamese food here at Guwahati as I get to eat better version of the same food at home. But still gave this place a visit last week. It was 12.15 pm or so and they said that their veg thalis are not available yet and that we'd have to wait another 45 minutes to order them. So we decided on having Aijong rice, Chicken Khorika and Chicken with Sesame seeds. The Chicken with Sesame seeds was very savoury and I loved it. But the Chicken Khorika was very dry and lacking taste. The chutney served with it was good though. The best part about the food here is that it doesnt let you feel heavy and I think its mostly because Assamese cuisine IS like that...less oil, less spices and yet so palatable. The interiors were okay but there was a huge problem with the A.C thing. I dont know if all their A.Cs were working or not but it was getting really uncomfortable inside. The service was very slow and the staff was less than courteous which is another let down. I just hope that they look into these matters. I dont think too highly of it but one can give it a visit if the ambience isnt much of a concern.

Good Food. Authentic Assamese. Lots of variety in their offerings. <br/>But, the restaurant is not maintained very well which shows in their doors and some ceiling decorations. Moreover, few staffs for eg. The one sitting at the reception desk seems to not care about the visitors at all. Lots of effort and training has to be put to keep the ambiance good enough.

Visited this place today for the first time with my wife and mother. Ordered three veg thalis, mutton curry, pork with bamboo shoot and pabho chorcori. The veg thalis were quite good. The kheer served with the thalis was kind of funny though. A few grains of rice swimming in a watery, milky solution. The pork was outstanding, one of the best I've had. The fish was also good. The mutton, however was a colossal disaster. It was too salty and undercooked. The management should look into this. It spoiled the entire experience. Also the service needs to be improved. It won't hurt to see a few smiles on the faces of the people serving you. Will visit again surely, for the pork if not for anything else.
