Review Heartland Persia - Guwahati

Barnali Ghosh
Great ambience..food was good..though chicken items for main course is very limited. Starters are better than main course. They charged extra service charge after charging GST..service charge was optional to pay..but why to keep this optional. That means one who will not notice the bill in detail he will be paying both gst and service charge....The authority should remove service charge and only take GST.

Today evening I was at heartland Persia for my iftar. Firstly the place is beautiful with lovely interior as it gives you an entirely great Persian era look. It also gives you a feel like you are eventually seating at a restaurant in Istanbul. I am in love with the ambiance totally. The service - For the service I genuinely give them 5 out of 5 because the staff was so humble. The girls were dressed in kurti which is so nice I mean they are totally griping it well as the name the goes heartland Persia. The manager was nice & polite ! Coming to the food now : Firstly starting with the starters I had a huge platter starting with luban which is an Arabic drink made of yoghurt lots of rose water, dates and saffron it was fabulous in taste. Completely different and no it’s not lassi ! Then on the platter there was chickpea futtoush that’s basically Mediterranean chickpeas salad, chicken samosa which is loved it , there was the shows topper & my favourite Batatu Harra that is potato gallet with sweet yogurt. Lastly on the starters there was Persian grilled chicken. Main Course I had Pita & Hummus which is the best I ever had. The pita was deliciously yummy. The Hyderabadi Haleem is another favourite it’s cooked pretty well with gorgeous indigenous flavours. The tried the Nihari Ghost which was fine cooked with minimal species. Afgani pulao was wholesome and rich in great flavours. The amount of dry fruits it had was awesome. Desserts we had sheer khurma the signature Muslim dessert which was toothsome. Also the Luquimut was tempting & uniquely special. Over this place has my heart and will definitely visit again ! I recommend Lastly for the restaurant I have a suggestion to make on the music. Could it be something related to Persia? The English numbers do not go with the ambiance.

Visited recently opened restaurant 'Heartland Persia' at Zoo Road Guwahati. The food is fantastic it. Menu had wide range of dishes namely Middle Eastern, Central Asian, African and also Indian of both vegetarian and non vegetarian delicacies.Diners who prefer Indian food have their option to choose. Ordered Turkish lamb Kiba for starters, Saffron flavoured Iranian Chicken Biryani topped with pine nuts, both were hit and ordered 2nd serving. Besides that ordered Bahraini rice topped with pomegranate along with tomato & Dal based lamb dish for main course which was a disappointment. For dessert ordered, rose flavoured and lemon flavoured ice cream along with famous Turkish sweet Baklava which was lovely, crispy, flaky with loads of nuts, pistachios and mild sweetness which thankfully does not over power the taste buds. There is also a complimentary refreshing drink of Ruhafza served by the Resto. Overall the service was great. However there is a room for improvement in many aspect specially; the decor though the resto is spacious but the decor does not go along with the theme 'Persian Heartland' or kind of cuisine they serve or specialize. However the rates of the dishes are at higher end which could have been made reasonable. Overall experience was nice. People who prefer Middle Eastern cuisine should visit this place.

The place is neat and fancy, very welcoming staff and delicious food. However, the quantity of food is little per plate comparing to the pricy menu. Hummos bil lahm is a must try there 😄

Best middle east food in Northeast for sure. Just sad the staff is pushing you to finish your lunch by asking if you want your bill even if you're not done with your food
Manish Tandon
Tasty, excellent ambience, hygienic, a little over price though.

One of the finest in Guwahati. The food was delicious and service was good too. The only difficulty was in understanding the items in the menu but the waiters were eager to help. Overall a nice experience and the good news is that they are gonna get liquor licence soon. Note: don't miss the Baklava😍.

I am giving five star rating because first of all the food which I had was very delicious and authentic middle Eastern cuisine, just like the ones I had when traveling in middle East. Also the server who was serving us was very helpful in suggesting us their best dishes. And lastly the ambience is beautiful, very spacious and there was plenty of natural light. So I will definitely recommend anyone who wants to try middle eastern cuisine in Guwahati.

Good food, they have decent selection of middle eastern food. They also serve few Indian dishes. Service is professional. Portion sizes are small and a quite over priced. Limited parking is available below the restaurant. Roadside parking is generally available.

Never heard of this place but thanks to Zomato. The place stands true to their name and surely has this Mediterranean feel and the interior is very beautiful. The food is nice but the quantity is less for the price. Also, the prices are all in the highend side so yeah. The service was pretty good as well and 100 marks for hygiene.

I visited this place recently along with friends. I must say the ambience along with light arabic music does make you feel Mediterranean. The food was great though different than usual N. Indian, or Eastern. Lamb tasted soft and staff was very polite.

This is an interesting one. Have to give due credit to the owners and management in diversifying the food scenario in the city. The Chaap Kebab was enjoyable. I normally don't prefer vegetarian kebabs but it was melt in the mouth. The lamb palow was okay. There was nothing tantalising per se but it would go well with some gravy. Finally, the Limun Eatar Turkish Ice-Cream; Awesome. The fragrance from the lemon zest was brilliant. Therefore on the Taste-meter: 4/5
Ambience: 5/5 ( does feel very middle Eastern)
Service: Excellent, well groomed staff.
Price: this one is tricky. Since it's Guwahati, people might find it on the higher side but personally, I feel the prices are balanced to what they are serving. So 4/5.
Just a reminder to those who want to try Middle Eastern or Mediterranean cuisine. Open up your palate. These types of cuisine are not heavily spiced like that of South Asian meals. Also, they lean towards dairy based meals, so might want to check with your lactose intorelance level. All you would need to do is to welcome the smells and tastes of the Mediterranean in Guwahati. If you know what I mean?!

I would have rated this place 3.5 if it was purely on the basis of food, but this place has beautiful decor and very comfortable sitting arrangements, so rating of 4.0 seemed appropriate!
Service was great...
They have a middle-eastern themed menu...which is limited and little confusing!
We were little confused after seeing the menu ...so we tried the mixed kebab platter, which was good. And also some bread and some mutton items.
Food was good, but I felt that the quantity was little less, considering the cost. (Items are on slightly costly side)
N.B.- They also added service charge on the bill.
5/5 for the ambience and customer service. The staff was very helpful and courteous and also helped us in choosing dishes from the menu. As per the food,we tried to taste the meditarrnean flavor. The food was good, something new to the tongue. For dessert,we took Baklava, which is basically a filo pastry stuffed with nuts,it was okayish. But overall,it was a good experience.

I went out for lunch this Sunday and was pleasantly surprised at the range of food offered. The servers were really polite and were happy to recommend. A soft Middle Eastern song helps in setting the right mood. We ordered the mezze platter, lamb kibbeh, tagine, zafrani tahdig, date icecream and baklava and Jasmine ice tea and an Apricot drink to wash it down. The food was instgrammable as well a delectable. I was immensely satisfied with the tahdig and the tagine. Must try. Also the lamb kibbeh falls apart in your mouth and really juicy. I think this will be a perfect place for a date or even a family outing. All in all immensely satisfied. And the prices are a little steep, but the ambience, the service and the food does demand so.
I Dutta.
I went there with my friend recently. We went for a lunch and so the place was empty. Hence I won't be able to tell people about how demanding the place is during peak hrs.
Welcome gesture was good and they cared to show us a nice place to sit
Indoor is nice. I loved their decor and ambience is cool.
Taking about foods, I loved the taste. It was decent. We tried makhmali chapli kebab as starter, jellab And qamardeen as beverages, dry fruits pilaf rice preparation, lamb gheymeh as main course and rosa Blanca as dessert.
Service time and serving was good.
Staff behaviour was nice.

I am giving 4 stars because of 2 reasons that can definitely be improved.
1. Foods are slightly overpriced. At that total bill for two, you can have a meal at novotel.
2. I would be happy if they keep an eye on better hygiene as you don't wish to see flies while visiting such a place. Or else one can have a go for some delicious treat and nice photos there . Better if you love to post on Insta.

Visited this place for the first time last night. The ambience was quite nice. The staff was very polite and helpful. Now comes the food. We started with lamb harrira which was a soup with lamb and chickpeas and trust me it was awesome. Next we had makhmali chapli kebab which was also good with the chutneys. Then came the harisa rubian which was prawns fried in a batter and it was also very good. As regards the main course we had khoubz laham which was a stuffed naan kind of thing with mutton stuffing and was equally delicious. The achari chicken was however average. The mutton biryani was good but I have had better biryanis in my life so kind of ok. Raita was however good and different from the kinds we usually get in guwahati. We ended with baklava which I found a tad bit hard on the outside. As regards the pricing,I found a few items overpriced like the baklava and the mutton biryani. For two people we shelled out some 2800 bucks. Overall a good experience and will definitely visit again

I was here at their Launch, where I got to try many new and amazing Mediterranean dishes, which I had never tried before. My favorites turned out to be the hummus with Pita bread and Baklawa.
Once again I was here for trying out the Iftar Buffet, which consisted of a Drink, Appetizers, Main Course and Desset. For Mushrubat, I had Jellab, a type of Sharbat made from dates, grape, shredded nuts and rose water. It was so refreshing, soothing and delicious. For Starters, I had the Chickpea Fattoush, Chicken Samosa, Batata Harra and Diijaj Makhli. I really liked the Chicken Samosa, it was filled with chicken and had so much spices and flavor in it, served with Hari Chutney. The Batata Harra was served with sweet and sour Yoghurt and Pineapple compote. The yoghurt was so so savoury, I loved it a lot. The Diijaj Makhli or Persian Grilled Chicken was soft and juicy, very flavorful.
For the main course, there's Hydrabadi Haleem, which is a Ramadan Stable made with mutton, wheat and lentils, Arabic Chicken Stew, Afghani Pulao, both of them I found super delicious, Pita and Hummus. The Hummus here is just amazing! For Dessert, there's Luqaimat, which is a crunchy sweet flour dumplings dressed in syrup, and Sheer Khurma, which is vermicelli cooked in milk with dry fruits. The Luqaimat was average but the Sheer was super delicious, topped with dry flakes of rose, sweet and slightly overpowered with the Pista in it.
The entire buffet comprised of one sharbat, four appetizers four main course dishes and two desserts, all of it at only Rs799. It's very filling. I could barely finish the entire thing. The quantity is excellent. Was left with a very happy tummy 😄

The place is big enough for groups, with a little Persian look. Yeah, you can call it a high maintenance place, a fancy one and the prices are high too, but the food quality is amazing. Their desserts and chicken dishes are my personal favorite. Their lamb and mutton is quite exotic too. If you're not into mutton, you might not like it due to the over powering scent, but taste wise, it's good. And the dishes that they serve, barely half a dozen of them you'll find in Guwahati.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ for the Food
⭐⭐⭐⭐ for the Ambiance
⭐⭐⭐⭐ for the Service

Laban(yogurt drink with date, rosewater, saffron)Jellab(A classic drink with a blend of grapes, rosewater, shredded nuts),
Chicken Samosa with green chutney
Chickpea fattoush(classic mediterranean salad)
Batata harra(Potato galout with sweet yogurt and pineapple compote)
Dijaj Makhli(persian grilled chicken)
Hummus
Hyderabadi haleem
Sheer khurma
Nihari gosht
Saffron rice
Pita bread
Luqaimat
Every single item was tasty. The Grilled chicken was bang on. The Batata harra was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The Laban was quite refreshing. The Samosa was filled with chunks of chicken, this was the first time that I tried chicken samosa and I loved it.Coming to the main course, the star of the dish was sheer khurma..the bestest dessert I ever had. The pita bread was soft and it went well with the nihari gosht. The rice was chewy. The haleem was okay according to me. The Luqaimat was super delish. Overall,I had a good experience. The staff members treat you well, once you visit. Service isn't that slow. Ambiance is good. Interiors are pretty. Quantity of food is good. Prices are okay but when you get good food, prices shouldn't matter. And the iftar buffet is a must try.

Heartland Persia brings Mediterranean cuisine to Guwahati. It is one of a kind and has some very unique food that people of the city has never tried before. It's duck and chicken dishes are amazing. Meat falling of the bone with fragrant aroma of saffron in most of the dish is exactly what you will devour.
And do not forget to end your hearty meal with the famous Bakhlava-filo pastry layered with pistachios and nuts and soaked in sugar syrup

Tried the Iftar buffet and it was great. The food was good although a bit pricy but it was totally worth it . Good food and decent service. A perfect place to try Mediterranean food in town.

A new place in town serving authentic Mediterranean food and the first of its kind in the town. Its located in Zoo Road which is the heart of the city. They have a very vast and big menu giving once the experience of food from all across from Morocco to Lebanon to Turkey to Greece to Ancient Persia. This place is a must try as the ingredients are all sourced from its original places to maintain its authentic taste. I tried some of the authentic dishes like Dajaj Makhli, Batata Hara which was too good. Coming to the dessert I tried the Baklava which is a Turkish origin dessert and was indeed a lovely perfect experience. This place is a perfect gift to Guwahati who never had a Mediterranean restaurant giving the people a experience of it. Thanks to Mr Dutta and team for opening a lovely fine dine restaurant in Guwahati.
