Review Michinga - Ethnic Restaurant - Guwahati

Manish Gayan
Visited this chain for the first time and loved the Assamese outlook and decor of the restaurant. However they need to maintain the place as wear and tear is visible throughout. Coming to food, it was very well prepared and homely. We ordered Thalis (fish/pork/chicken) and each of the items were delectable. Plus the use of brass utensils is very authentic.

As traveller it was an amazing experience in this restaurant. Best place to have Assamese cuisine.. gesture and food presentation is extremely good.

This place is one of the coolest place to have Assamese and Naga Thalis. They also says that they have Asian cuisine as well. I with my friends had Assamese thalis here a few days before. The prices are reasonable here and taste is top-notch. If you are trying to try something new and traditional in a busy city like Guwahati you definately should visit Michinga. In taste I would rate 7.5 out of 10 for the Assamese thali with Local Chicken. Go give it a try guys.

I went there for a Sunday lunch with my friend. The place was crowded. We managed to get a table. The interior was beautiful with warm colours and lights. We ordered Assamese Veg Thali and Caramel Custard for dessert. The thali tasted good and the dessert was delicious. It was a filling lunch. The service was prompt.

Good place in Guwahati for Assamese Thali, nice ambience and service. Car Parking is limited to two cars but adjacent bylanes have decent parking space

Amazing Assamese Fish thali. The fish was so fresh and very nicely cooked. Just loved it
Sunanda Pal
Lovely food! Tried their smoked pork with dry bamboo shoot thali which costed Rs. 410 (including tax). Food was delicious, and satisfying with good portions at round 1 that I did not need refills (Free for everything except pork items). However, the servers could be a bit more attentive. Overall, a good experience 👍

Excellent food. Without doubt... The quantity served can be improved. However no question on the taste. Thumbs up to paneer thali. Must try.

Great food and ambience! Loved the retro British architecture. Pro tip: go for the sticky rice if you are considering any ethnic dishes.

Loved the place! I’m not generally someone who eats pork but trust me when I say this that their pork is top notch. And the ambience is too vintage and ethnic. Worth every penny!

Wow the pork schezwan is bliss. Very tasty ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Must try! This is my 2nd visit here . We ordered Naga Pork thali with pork bamboo shoot. The platter had rice , dal, pork dry fry , aloo pitika, 2 type of dry fish chutney . The taste was awesome and food was really healthy . We ordered custard also . The taste is 10/10 . No complains at all .

If you are visiting Assam and you want to taste Naga cuisine then you must try it here. Great ambience, nice service. Mostly they have a variety of nonveg food. Paneer is available for veg and is good in taste.

Michinga's food is just soulful. Their thalis will definitely make you feel homely. Michinga's food will make you and your body both feel good. Less is always more and Michinga proved it when it came to their delicious and comforting food. Service is quick and the staffs are well behaved. Don't know the name of those 2 girls but they are always there in restaurant assisting everyone equally. Love them ❤️ My go-to restaurant in Guwahati is Michinga. 🙂🙂

They serve traditional Assamese, Naga, Khasi and Asian (mostly Chinese) food, but we were keen on trying their Assamese thalis, of which they offer different variations. We ordered one Assamese thali (pork; though you can order a vegetarian thali, paneer thali, chicken thali, fish thali, duck thali etc - the basic component of the thali remain the same, it’s only a star dish that changes. Along with that, we ordered an Assamese jumbo thali. Every single element of each of the thalis was perfect: delicious, and very light. Service was satisfactory, and we paid just below Rs 1,000 for a very satisfying meal for two adults and a child.

The food was superb, the service is also good. The place is revamped, the decorations are on a brighter side. The waitresses are of tribal origin. The place has a parking facility but it can hold only two to three cars, otherwise you have to park the car on the nearby roads. The food I ordered was naga thali, so mostly it was red meat, pork, it was a good rich meal.

I tried their Assamese Pork Thali and it was the most authentic one I have had till date, pork was very succulent. It was simple yet very tasty, they captured the essence of traditional Assamese food by not overtly using masalas that most restaurants tend to do these days. My brother and parents tried the Assamese Chicken Thali and they enjoyed it as well for its taste and simplicity. I feel like one can eat here everyday without getting an upset stomach since, the food felt and tasted so homely.
Mehtaz Marin
Love their authentic assamese and naga food. They provide a variety of Thalis which are a must try for everyone. Also tried their Chinese combo. Loved it. We tried their Naga Bamboo shoot thali and it was just so delicious. Loved their Mango mousse dessert too. My go to place whenever I feel like having ethnic food. Service is great. Ambience is really cozy.

A purely authentic restaurant. As a student here in Ghy the food feels quite at home and the ambience of this place is superb for a quality lunch/dinner/brunch.
Saikia Kastaurika
The most awesome Thali place in the city .. the Naga Pork Thali is to die for !! Followed by the Assamese Local Thali .. the special megahalya Thali is as good .. the only place I can boast of infront of non-NE friends ! Can’t wait to get back !
Shilpa Pathak
The best place to have traditional Thalis. Always my fav. Don't know how many times I have visited to this place.
Buggs
Michinga has a very pretty interior. I loved the fireplace. Hence, 2 stars just for the ambience. Had food poisoning after having the festival special thali some time in October. I suggest you to wash your kah-or kaahi (bell-metal plates) thoroughly. Mentioning that particularly because food particles get trapped in the floral patterns and can create a health hazard if not cleaned properly.
Baibhab Datta
Amazing food and place.
Probably best place in guwahati to try authentic naga food.
A must try for everyone !

Pork dry fry was great. We also ordered bhokua maas outengar logot, which was nice but the duck curry and horiho ari maas that we ordered, the fish and the meat did not seem or taste fresh.
Shraddha Gogoi
A place with great interior which retains its lovely aura. I loved their thalis. Every other dishes that came with the thali was tasty. Also a very courteous staff. Had a great time!
Hungry Panda
Loved the food. One of the best places to have good pork. My favourite is the bamboo shoot pork. Also the ambience of the place is lovely, it's European themed with Assamese elements. Do visit if you are a pork lover. Have heard the chicken dishes are also good

Excellent dishes, friendly staff
Good space
Staffs are very very cooperative
IN RENGIN FELNA TUIPUI
Pork with Michinga leaf outstood all the dishes.
Nabajeet Sonowal
Tried their Naga dishes and was very satisfied. Sticky rice , pork, chutneys all were awesome. They will serve you in wooden plates which adds to the whole experience. Ambience and service also good, decent enough parking space of their own.
Ilikivi Jakhalu
This is the best place to fill your belly without thinking about your calories. Homely food, great taste, best service and the right place to taste the authentic Naga cuisine.

This place will never disappoint you. ☺

The food is delicious and ambience is just right. The restaurant is ideal for family lunch outs and to relish ethnic food with friends. The ethnic food has the right flavour and the conduct of service staff is friendly n professional. One of the best places I have been too in recent times. Kudos to the management. Tally Ho. Must visit place.

Must try. 👌
About food- my friends from my hometown loved the food here. We ordered drums of heaven and two chicken thalis and one paneer thali. Starting from the aloo pitika to the curries, they are totally fresh and delicious. The chicken was very very tender and no added artificial packet flavour. The paneer was terribly tasty.
About ambience- the place is very peaceful. ☮️
The waiters are very well behaved and very polite and everything was very good. Had experienced more than expectations.
Puravee Bordoloi
For some good quality ethnic food, michinga is the best choice. For me it's little expensive but taste of the food never disappoint . I found their Naga thalis more delicious than others and enjoyed every bite of it. Also love the ambience.

It was a very sad experience for me today at Michinga that I was told to shift tables by a waiter after ordering food. Even after me and my husband insisted that the table for two is close to the toilet, the waiter staff, one being a girl forced us to change tables.
I have visited Michinga 4 times already and today was my 5th. I travelled from Mirza to Uzanbazar just to have food. I also recommended the place to my friends and colleagues all over India. I even took my British friends to that place when they visited from London. I work as a government officer for the state tourism industry and I interact with such matters like suggesting tourists visiting here, so I tell them to check out Michinga if they want to have the "best ethnic cuisine" in GUWAHATI. But despite that, the staff forced us to Sit near the toilet, when there weren't any other customers waiting also. IT was very humiliating just because we were 2 & not 4 or more people,we were told to sit in the corner table for 2 near toilet.
IT SADDENS MY HEART THAT I WILL NEVER BE VISITING THE PLACE AGAIN AFTER SUCH AN INCIDENT.
Amit Talukdar
Not sure what keeps this restaurant afloat in such a competitive environment. My experience in this restaurant is not at all congenial. I went there to have lunch and ordered one Naga Chicken Thali and Naga Pork Thali. The Pork Thali was pathetic - hardly 3 pieces of pork and that too nowhere close to a Naga curry. There are far better ethnic restaurants in Guwahati. May be the ambience and location are convenient as you will get ample parking space outside. Better to avoid and try in restaurants like Naga Kitchen or Nagameez.
Aba Solo
One of the best restaurant in Guwahati I av enjoyed alot...
food are very nice and the service is excellent and the environment is good I feel like home and the aroma of bamboo shoots and michinga leaf pulls me back again and again to visit michinga restaurant
Suman Sonar
Best ethinic restaurant I have ever come across Naga thali and Assamese thali I liked it a lot... And more like Asian cuisine and also the products are fresh I especially liked the bamboo shoots and Michigan leaf and the aroma...
Madhurya Pratim Kalita
Very bad ambience and very bad service. We tried chicken, fish and pork Assamese thali. But the way they served it ,all items were given in the plate no separate bowl for type of vegetables looking like street food. COOK is very good as the items are tasty but very worst service by the restaurant people. Worst among all the Assamese restaurant in ghty.
Pallavi Preyokhi Brahma
Finally I can tick this place off my bucket list!! Such a lovely ambience, clean and well mannered staff this place has. Thank you michinga for not letting me down. I loved every bite of the items from Naga smoked pork thali. The smoked pork was juicy, tender and had me licking my finger. I chose my smoked pork with yam stem. They have another option which is with bamboo shoot. A must visit place with your loved ones.
Ronit Kalita
The best ethnic restaurant in town. Lip smacking food coupled with great staff and service. Lotha Chicken Curry has become a personal favourite of mine. Dokhlieh is a must try too. The taste is simply exquisite.
Priyam Borah
A very good place to have thalis. Its offers assamese as well as naga thalis. Ambience is quite cozy and feels like home. Food was really good and mango mousse was out of this world. Do give it a try
Kunal Kashyap
One of the best restaurants for traditional Assamese food really great taste as well as good service nd even the price is pocket friendly....
Happy with my experience over there

Had a delectable meal at @Michinga - an Ethnic restaurant located at Uzanbazar. Michinga serves various types of dishes and cuisines including naga and assamese cuisines. Since am a big fan of naga food, i ordered their naga pork thali with 2 types of pork dishes i.e. Pork with mejenga leaves & Pork with bambooshoot which tastes flavorful. Staffs were very friendly. The ambience of the restaurant is peaceful. I also really liked the decor of the place... Will visit again n again.
Priyanki Nanu Ku-Koi
Its such a nice place to visit.. pure traditional cusine. Its not dat expensive. I tried assamese traditional thali and naga thali. It was yum. The ambience is very beautiful n cozy.
Swagata Baishya
One of the best Thali place in the city. I had naga smoked pork thali and it didn’t disappoint me at all. Would appreciate if you increase the quantity of the items in Assamese veg thali by a bit.
Shravani Bordoloi
One of the best Thalis in Guwahati. From taste to presentation, everything is delicious and amazing. We ordered Assamese Thali and Naga Thali. It has got that authenticity in the items which makes you feel like 'Ghar ka Khana'. Craving for some ethic food, do give a visit!
Birty Terangpi
The interior is beautiful and the food also tasted good. Had veg thali with fried pork, Assamese chicken curry, machihan (kotha style), Assamese pork cury, pork with bamboo shoot, veg chop and seasonal greens

Well I have ordered from this place for a precise number of 3 times before I actually went to visit this restaurant. And I have had mixed opinions when I placed the order. My first order was a Naga smoked thali and it was lip smackingly delicious! Although a tad expensive (compared to other ethnic restaurants), it did deliver on taste, flavors and quantity. The second order however, wasn't so much justified. It was an Assamese Chicken thali and for some reason the contents of that thali just didn't come together. We'll not delve much into that. My third order was a Khasi til pork which I found to be a little too salty and pungent.
However, the my visit to Michiga for lunch with a friend was the best experience that I have had with this place so far. My friend ordered for the Naga fresh pork thali and I (after a little reluctance) ordered for the Khasi platter. And we couldn't help ourselves but gorge into the delicious food that was placed before us. Everything about both the thalis/platters was delectable. The sticky rice and pork with michinga leaves was an added bonus in the Naga thali. As for my Khasi platter, I was so glad that I went for it. The flavored rice (which if I am not wrong is called Jadoh) blew me away. I had never tasted anything like that before. If I have to put it in words, it would be a hybrid of a khichidi and a pulao, but better than both of them! And this time around the pork seseme tasted just fine and complimented the rice so well. It wasn't overtly fancy, just a home style cooker pork curry.
So the bottom line is that if you wish to enjoy a hearty ethnic meal in a very comfortable old school architectural backdrop, then this is the place to be. Cheers!

In absolute love with the delicatly spiced Assamese Chicken Curry. The food is good and also the quality. Only concern I had with the small fish fry which was very hard and had a smell of vegetable oil. Overall, a good place for ethnic cuisine!

This restaurant is never disappointing . Everytime I go there the food tastes great and the hospitality of the staff is 💯💯. Keep it up.💕
My personal favorite is the Naga Fish Thali. It's a must try.

If you are looking for ethnic food in Guwahati, like Assamese, Naga, Khashi then Michigan is the place. The Decor is superb, food is good and staff is polite.Yet it does not pinch your pocket. Meat available are restricted to mutton , chicken and pork. You can taste chutneys made from famed chilli called bhoot jhalokia ( one of the hottest chillies on earth)
Bhaswati Adhikary
Our visit to this restaurant was a last moment plan. We were not very certain about the restaurant first. But we are glad that we stepped into this one for today's lunch.

Ambience and interior: soothing
Loved the entire atmosphere.

Staff and Service: very efficient
The staff was friendly and cooperative. Very professional behaviour as demanded in the restaurant business

Lastly the food: awesome
I couldn't find a single fault in taste, presentation, quantity. My tummy was fully satisfied. Most importantly it was within a affordable budget. One naga pork thali, one naga chicken thali with a number of variety per thali, mineral water and two soft drinks totaled to ₹ 560. So you can see what I meant.

Happy and highly satisfactory experience

Highly recommended from my side

P. S. Chilly pork from pork thali, chicken curry with bamboo shoot was to die for.
Jugabrata Deka
Ordered Naga Thali with Smoked Pork in bamboo shoots. Trust me, one of the best 4 pieces of pork tasted in any traditional restaurant. Also their thali is wholesome. The waiters are well mannered and polite, and best of all, has the patience to explain everything. The ambience is quite nice with modern lights and a big washroom. Would definitely visit again and recommend everyone in search of quality traditional food. One secret, it's pocket friendly too (250/300 per thali)
Abhiborbora
Michigan surprisingly disappointed me today. I ordered TIL pork which had no salt was watery and the pork pieces were not good and didn’t seem fresh.

This is 6 star restaurant - I was running late for my evening flight; I had called up the restaurant owner - requesting him to take my order on phone and get it ready by the time I reach them... To my surprise when I reached the restaurant my food was all hot and ready ... the Assamese thali along with the chicken and fish tenga was outstanding.. my sever even gave me an extra helping of Alu Pitika and chilli achar.. the decor of the restaurant was modern and elegant, the staff extremely courteous and food extremely tasty - I am sure to visit them next time I am in Guwahati..
Shiuli Dutta
Michinga is such a cute place! We ordered the pork and fish thalis and they were absolutely delicious and fresh. As an added plus, the staff takes their time to explain everything so politely and patiently. Highly recommended!
Raktim Engti
Good place for traditional Assamese dish. Quick service with friendly staff. Neat and clean restaurant with good music in the background. The thalis are really delicious. Quantity is adequate. Overall a good experience.
Ruchika Phukan
A good place to enjoy Assamese and Naga cuisines. I ordered the Naga and Assamese chicken thali. Both were delicious . Especially the Naga chicken and the chutney.
Saugot Chowdhury
I was brought here by one of my colleague, and immediately fell in love with ambience and food. I bring my office people here many a times. I tried the Naga thali, Assamese thali, veg thali and found good. People are reviewing that refill is not available. But I did get refills for rice. Upside is that it's hygienic, and calm so that you can bring your clients here and chat over lunch. Downside is what I experienced is cashless transaction is wanting. Once I had to go finding ATM, which is (ICICI) by the way near.
Sharmistha Basing
A cute place serving Assamese, naga, khasi thali and other snacks.
I liked the interiors, the service.
We ordered Assamese and naga pork thali. I personally loved the dal. But I think they can improve the taste of the pork.
Sweta Mahanta
I visited it today. I ordered an Assamese thali of chicken. It was very tasty. The ambience is one of the best in the city and I loved that fireplace. Service is good too.

I heard so much about this place so had to visit it during my recent visit to Assam
Pros:
1. The menu is quite interesting. They serve Assamese, Naga , Khasi and Assamese Muslim cuisine. And also some Chinese dishes
2. Ambience- it's really good. I would say Instagram worthy
3. Taste- This is most important and they nailed it.
4. Money- I would say worth it
Cons:
1. The meghalaya thali consist of both plain jadoh and pork jadoh, but they served us only plain jadoh. They should have cut down the item not available in the menu or should have provided some alternative item. Even on asking the waiter about it...he was clueless

Although the con is just one, but because of the taste I am giving 5 🌟
This is one place I have been following for quite some time and when I did get a chance to visit guwahati, I made it a point to visit. Very centrally located in a nice not so commercial neighbourhood, the ambience outside and inside is excellent. Clean and simple decor. Very nice and courtesous staff. Excellent team manging the place with prompt service. I had a vegetarian thali with dry pork with bamboo shoot and small fish. Overall the food is excellent and totally relish it. After 1 week, I revisit the place again with my wife. Same thali but this time with fish and chicken. Overall very happy and contended. Only suggestion is that if you can put an automated door closure to the washroom door. Thanks !

The ambience is so good .... Its a very cute, attractive , a Cosy little one.... The thalis here is too good....we get The best pork in naga style with michinga pata ... Assamese Thalia (mutton ) was also good ....

It was my my first visit. I ordered naga pork thali in which it was smoked pork with yam stem and it was awesome ,delectable and affordable. There was every bit organic flavour which i loved the most and wanted in my food... Worth visiting 👍
Swapnali Bora
I tried assamese pork thali and it was the worst i have ever tried... The rice quality was cheap, other items are like made in our our home... N there is no such special item or taste.. In the same peice kharika is very much better ... Dont go for assamese thali. For me its was a Zero
Jnanesh Deka
I would have definitely rated it more than 5stars if there would have been any provisions for that. What an ambience for heaven's sake. As we entered it just felt like we are somewhere in the hills. The fireplace, the current Christmas Theme with carols over the speakers just added more perfection. We ordered an assamese chicken thali and an assamese fish thali. The waiter was really friendly and it was just within minutes that we received our delicious food before us. This fast service just added an extra bonus for the place. The place was so well decorated. About the food, what else to say, it was so so so much delicious that i couldnt resist myself finishing the entire platter. Previously i thought of some other restaurants which were good at providing assamese cuisine but i proved myself wrong today. Guys this place lists in the top among all other assamese cuisine serving restaurants. They also serves Naga and Khasi ethnic food. In the desert i ordered mango mousse which was really perfect and tasted similar like the mousse you get in Loyans. Overall i am really happy chosing this restaurant as my dinner place to end my day on a happy note.

This was a long due! After series of planning finally, we made it to Michinga. Well, I ordered for Naga Pork Thali, while my friend opted for Khasi platter. The food quantity is impressive and the quality and taste scores a 4 overall. I could go on n on about the Coffee caramel which, was quite good. Rest, everything was fine, right from the service to ambiance and even cleanliness. The place is cosy and very well done. All the best to Mushtaq and his wife for this venture. :D

Last night I went with my frend to have dinner....actually I m looking for assamese thali like ghr ka khna.....so I went there nd I taste the chicken thali there....it's simple but tasty thali....I like the food but I like to say plz make the chicken curry little bit more tasty .....I will definitely visit this place again...😊😊nd last but not the least I like the environment the interiors it's beautiful....nice place near my home....

I have literally lost my count on number of times I have visited this place. In these all the visits I have tried all the thalis whether it's naga pork thali, naga fish thali, naga chicken thali or Meghalaya Thali or even Assamese Chicken Thali. All the different north east cuisines which are served here has been tried by me and I do recommend all of them, but obviously based on your taste. The speciality of this restaurant is that they serve all the thalis in a very authentic way, which attracts most of the customers. Highly highly recommended and keep up the good work.
Yashomana Choudhury
First of all, our first impression was pretty bad as no one came to our table for 10 mins even after asking for the menu the staff ignored our table. At last we wanted to walk out then they came with the menu and took our orders.
The ambience and decor is really pretty and pleasing. Now for the food, we wanted to order Upper Assamese Mughlai thali which was not available. Then we settled for Assamese mutton thali and Naga Chicken thali. Now quantity wise is just sufficient for one person but they won't give any refill for any items on the thali. The chutneys on the Naga thali is quite little in quantity and someone with large appetite would find it little unfulfilling.
As for the taste I found it average and was lacking the delicious factor. Another factor the chicken in Naga Chicken thali was full of chicken skin there was hardly two pieces of meat. Overall I would not visit this resturant again.

Michinga is one of the newest restaurant in the city serving northeastern cuisine. They have converted an old heritage house into this tastefully decorated restaurant which focuses mainly on Assamese, naga, khasi traditional food items.
This is probably the best place in the city if you want to try a traditional khasi meal (jadoh, tungtap etc)...it's quite yummy and presentation is superb.
Loved the naga thali too....it was quite good.
Overall it was a good experience.
Nice place to visit if you want to eat some traditional northeastern food.
Anirban Datta-Roy
It's not everyday that I forget to take pictures of beautifully presented food. But in the case of Michinga the food looked so good and tasted so good that I completely forgot about photos. This is the best northeast food that I've had in any restaurant. Period.
The ambience is wonderful and the location in a quiet part of the city makes the entire experience even more pleasant.
I tried the Naga pork and Khasi thaali. Each and every item was brilliantly done, especially the dohneiiong. I also tried the fried smoked pork and the king chilly with dry fish chutney 🔥👍
The service is top notch and without doubt this is one of the best restaurants in the northeast.
If you love northeast food and have one last meal left in Guwahati, just head to Michinga. I promise it's worth it.

I wish I could give 10 star to this restaurant. Awesome food, awesome hospitality and awesome behaviour of the staffs. A must visit place for all the pork lovers...

Nice and Simple ambience ✨ , Food is yum 👅, Price is very reasonable🌟, Staff and service is not good and friendly... They are not around or ask you if you need something... You have to get up call them from inside for an order or food or water.... Rather than the staff everything was fine...
T.Nath
Good food,Different varieties of Northeastern Thalis,Nice ambience, friendly staff the only thing I want to request them is to have local chicken as well in their menu as ethnic food is incomplete without it.
Shine311
I tried the naga smoked pork with dry bamboo shoot thali.. the flavours were really good.. the star of the plate were the chutneys.. those little things were just explosion of different flavours and lifted the flavours of everything else on the plate.. I just wished that we could get a repeat of the chutneys in the thali..
Izaz Ahmed

Nice place, great interiors. Good to hang out with family and friends. I had tried out Assamese veg thali and Assamese style chicken, it was good. Not too spicy or oily. Overall it was a good experience.

A great place to have ethnic cuisine. The interior is kept simple yet it has got a classic feel to it.I tried the naga pork thali, khasi thali, pork cooked with michinga and coffee caramel. The naga thali was hands down the winner.Whenever you feel like having a wholesome homely cooked meal, this is the right place for you.I would definitely visit this place again and again to enjoy their sumptuos thalis and also recommend everyone to visit this place. This place is a win win to me.Cheers and good luck for a great future.👍😊

A great place if you want to eat pork dish . They are just awesome . Price is reasonable . Service is also good . Ambiance is what I liked most . It feels like home . One of the best place if you love tasting different pork dishes . I highly recommend this place :)

Michinga is a delight in every sense of the term. The warm and lovely ambience, well behaved staff and the superstar amongst all... "The food".

Attention to detail in matters of taste, texture and looks is crazy...i haven't had such well cooked and good looking pork, mutton and chicken in a long long time.
The way the meat is cooked with flavours till the very bone of the meat shows how tediously the food has been prepared..

And not only the meat, the sweet dish section with the coffee caramel and mango mousse is crazily good. I specially liked the after taste of the mango mousse.

Mustaque da is actively involved in the kitchen himself and makes sure everything is how they are supposed to be.

Make sure u visit this place next time you are in Guwahati.

5/5 in all aspects.
Praloy Goswami
Excellent food... Very good ambience.. The Assamese delicacy thais which we ordered were extremely delicious.. The chicken pakoras were mouth watering and the icing on the cake was the mango souffle which was extremely super delicious.. Really enjoyed myself
A very beautiful place with beautiful decoration and food in Guwahati..Loved the way of promoting North Eastern cuisines ...All the best team Michinga....
Shyamalima Tamuly
Its the perfect place to give your tastebuds the authentic taste of some northeastern cuisines. They serve various northeastern dishes and mainly assamese, naga and khasi platters. I ordered the upper assam mughlai thali and trust me, each and every item in the platter tasted so good and flavourful. It consists of pulao, chicken kofta curry, chicken korma, paneer korma and mutton curry along with veg chop, salad and pickle. The serving was quick and i found the ambience so enchanting with some great music. I would be definitely paying a second visit to this beautiful place to try out the other dishes as well.

Ordered Naga Fresh Pork Thali and Naga Smoked Pork Thali
Fresh Pork Thali with Michinga leaves pork , Smoked Pork Thali with Yam stem
The food was amazing and all the items right from chutneys to pork items were bang on. I also loved the decor of the restaurant. Service is great and quick. The guy who served us was great too. The decor is subtle, easy to the eye but equally creative. Overall awesome

Wanted to try authentic North-Eastern Indian food and on a recommendation of a local foodie gave the place a shot. We were four of us, two of us vegetarians and two non-vegetarians, between us we tried three different thalis (Veg only has one thali option)
Ambiance: The place has a great ambiance, complementing the culture of the region with the use of wood and bamboo in the furnishing.
Food: I liked the food, the dishes were are tasty but was disappointed with the limited variety of the items in the Thali. I have had similar thali elsewhere with three times the variety. Even the menus a-la-carte section had limited choices on offer, basically the same items as those offered in the thali.
Service: It was horrible, the quantities served in the Thali were small and we had to ask for refills for the side dishes. They took over five minutes to get them but the servings were small forcing us to ask for them all over again. They don’t understand the concept of Thali. When we complained to the management we were told they were missing two of the serving staff. We had gone for lunch and the place was packed, all tables taken. If they are understaffed they should only serve the tables they can keep up with.
Value for money: Considering the quantity, variety, and service I don’t find the place worth it. A similar outing in one of the other ethnic restaurants in town left me more satisfied.

One of the best places in guwahati for authentic northeastern food ....they serve naga, assamese and khasi thalis. The naga fresh pork thali had two types of rice, chutneys, boiled veggies, chilli pork, dal, salad and fresh pork with bamboo shoots.

This place will win your heart the moment you enter inside. The way they welcome, food presentation and of course the food itself. We tried their Naga thalis which is in two varieties like one is with dry bambooshot and other one is with the Michinga leave. I also tried their smoked pork which is amazing again. I personally like spicy food and this place got me that spice. A next visit for sure. Price is economic I would say. Do visit with family, friends or your colleagues. They will love this place trust me.

The ambience is nicely done. But i feel that is the only thing good about the place. The menu spread is limited. And although they claim to serve Khasi food, there are just a few options. In terms of taste, the food is purely mediocre. And the staff and management should also understand the proper cutlery that accompanies particular dishes, eg, tea spoons were provided for the appetisers.
