Review Nehars Mughlai Darbar - Guwahati

Moumita Dey
A good place to visit with your family and friends Ambience: Simple and Decent Food ordered: Starters: Fish Irani Kebab (6 pieces) and Chicken Chandini Kebab (8 pieces); Combo: Mutton biryani, Mutton Rezala/Shahi Mutton, Salad, Raita, Shahi Tukra/Gulab Jamun, a glass of coke; Butter Naan, Rumali Roti, Bhuna Mutton and Peshwari Chicken Taste: Everything was scrumptious(but the fish irani kebab and the mutton was more tasty) Quantity: Appropriate Price: Not too heavy on the pocket Overall, it was really good. An apt place for fine dinning with both friends and family. Do try this place if not visited yet and share your experience.

Food I had was really good. I was sceptical about the taste of the mughlai dishes which I ordered because I subconsciously compare them with the cuisines I used to have when I was in Hyderabad. But the taste was almost as good as the food we get in Hyderabad or Old Delhi. The dishes are as mughlai as it gets in Guwahati. Staff were also very good and mannered. They were efficient. Ambiance is also good and lovely. There was a man who was singing old hindi songs with his melodious voice which was cherry on the cake. It will be my go to place in Guwahati till I am here. Overall good food, good staff and good place. Only problem was mosquitoes but that is the problem in whole of Guwahati so I will give it a pass.

This is one of the oldest restaurants in Guwahati confined towards Mughal Dishes. As the name suggests it actually has a very specially designed menu and the foods are equally aromatic and flavourful. It has wide range of food items which are prepared to maintain the taste and class of traditional Dishes. The Food Range is Vivid. However there are some points that needs to be taken care of: The Washroom and Wash Basin are together.. should have been seperated. The Washroom are quite Old and dirty. The Cold Drinks Provided are NOT any special drinks but the simple Pepsi and Sprite which they give only 1 glass which is only 60 to 70% of the total available in the 40/- plastic bottle. and for that amount they charge 50/- which is more than the MRP for quantity less than the full bottle.

Great ambiance, great place for authentic food but the only issue is the price in accordance with the quantity provided otherwise it's a nice place for some family day out.

Food was good, avoid tikkas and kebabs and go for gravies because they put the same chicken. Sadly when we were dining, they were blowing ballons for birthday party making huge noise and continued even when we requested, then we had to yell to make them stop for sometime, very inconsiderate.

Its a Beautiful space.. beautiful decoration.. good serving people and very gentle behaviour.. remarkably, i liked the lights.. the food is also nice but i wont give a 5-star as some recipes are not upto that..but the mughlai items are awesome ..so i surely give a 4-star rating.. can go for birthday parties and other small parties..

Good calm ambience. Staff are nice. Foods are of good quality and very neat and clean restaurant. My personal recommendation is Sahjahani kebab which I really liked. Hyderabadi biryani is not authentic but a kind of mixture of both Hyderabadi and Kolkata as they place eggs and potatoes in Hyderabadi biryani; but taste is good.

Must try chicken reshmi kabab. It's just so soft and awesome. Naan and rumali roti is very good. Masala kulcha is good. Chicken butter masala and naan is a very good combination at Nehars.
Tilak Sarma
Lovely place if you want to have indian cousine specially lacha paratha. However they discontinued many items post pandemic.

Always love to visit for their butter chicken and butter naan . I have just never tasted such Delicious butter chicken before. Also the price they have fixed for the dishes I really affordable. but our recently they have increased the price and but didn't need any changes in their quantity or quality so I think they should also look after the matter of their quantity and quality since they have increased the price a bit much
Parminder Singh Manchanda
The chicken first piece was ok but the rest three leg pieces are stinking, this is absolutely ridiculous, zomato kindly take a stern action n do the needful...
Ankit Choudhury
Tikkas were supposed to be the best, but it's hopeless... Never try Tikka at Nehars.. Biriyani is fine... For Tikka go to Rang De Basanti. Place with better food and ambience

Recently I have been craving North Indian food. Nehars provides the desired quantity and quality at an affordable price range even late at night.
I tasted Veg pulao, Lucknowi Biryani, Malai kofta, chicken bharta and mutton rogan Josh.
Everything was well cooked and warm.
A very peaceful ambience with polite waiters.
Perhaps they could speed up their service.
Chiranjib Haldar
Before the taste was good enough but now its so bad. Will never order or go there again.
Shiwani Bhattacharjee
When I was new to the city, they used to serve great food. But with time, quality has fallen down and cost has gone up. Like a month ago I ordered some chicken dish and the chicken was like so bad in taste. Turns out the chicken was somewhat rotten
Tanjeem
Its one of the worst restro i ever went i mean the kashmiri pulao was so disgusting i literally puked after having it seriously the worst place
Uman
Biryani was awesome! And so was the platter.
Now, I am going to skip reading the menu ask whether they serve Haleem?! Have been craving for haleem lately!
Prashanti Bhattacharyya
If you want to grab lipsmacking indian cuisines I can't recommend anything better than Nehars. The hospitality of the staffs out there is commendable. The menu is well sorted and the music is superb too.

Determined to celebrate our successfully completed internship, I and my team had set out to find a restaurant that could fit our needs. That is when one of our teammates pointed out this to be an excellent mughlai restaurant.

The ambience revealed that it was a fine dine. The stewards were very well mannered and professional.

Coming to the food, we all ordered different dishes. As the name suggests, biryani is ought to be the major attraction of the place and hence was ordered. It served two people wonderfully. The raita was the main catch for me. One of us went for the great combo of biryani which wasn't bad either.

The rest of us chose to order North Indian, that is butter naans accompanied with mutton rogangosh and Peshwari chicken, both of which perfectly went with the soft and luscious naans. The chicken dish had thick, smooth gravy whereas the mutton dish was of thin gravy with a nutty flavour.

Overall we had a great feast with affordable price. Hope to visit again with family!
Hriday
Its known for it's mughlai cuisine around the town and it never disappointed either. The menu has a wide variety of mughlai dishes to try. Tried the chicken biryani combo with chicken butter masala. The biryani was great and was enough in quantity along with chicken butter masala with the essence of pure mughlai taste in it. The chicken pieces were of adequate size and it was a great experience. Will definitely try out more dishes out there

The Mughlai cuisine has always attracted foodies from near and far. A Mughlai meal course consists of an elaborate and extravagant buffet of main course dishes accompanied by side dishes. The Mughlai style of cooking is developed in South Asia by the imperial kitchen of the Mughal Empire. This cooking style is prevalent in the North India. Mughlai Cuisine is strongly influenced by the Cultural Asian Cuisine. The hotness of the cuisine varies from mild to extremely spicy and is often associated with a distinctive and rich aroma and the taste of ground and whole spices.
Located in the busy heart of Guwahati, Bhangagarh, Nehars is family dining restaurant that specializes in the famous and rich Mughlai cuisine. The location is very convenient and parking space is also available. The restaurant is built over a large area. It is spacious, vibrant and lovely. A cheerful security guard greets and holds the door for the customers at the entrance. He is dressed in the traditional Mughal style. The interiors are clean and classy. Nice classical music is played in the background which creates a very calm and nice atmosphere. Every customer is served a glass of cool jaljeera water and papad before the dishes are ordered as a compliment. The staffs are very friendly and well dressed. They help you in the selection of dishes. Food is served on clean plates. Origami skills are displayed on every table by creating beautiful pieces with the cloth napkins.
The restaurant serves a variety of Mughlai dishes. Chicken or the murgh is the heart of the Mughlai cuisine. No Mughlai dining experience can be completed without some delectable chicken dishes on the platter. Nehars has a plethora of murgh dishes in its menu ranging from kebabs to curries to chicken cooked in signature Nawabi and Peshawari style. Kebabs are dishes cooked by grilling meat. There is a wide selection of kebabs. Murgh kalmi kebab, reshmi kebab, hariyali kebab, Amritsari kebab, shami kebab, boti kebab, and the well famous galawat ki kabab. This place offers some scrumptious chicken recipes. Mutton Roganjosh, Afghan Chicken, Chicken Curry, Murgh Mumtaz, Butter Chicken have the most fan following. Tandoori chicken is a well-loved recipe of chicken all over the country. Nehars serves the most luscious tandoori chicken. Mutton items also feature in the menu. Rogan Josh, a recipe of tender lamb cooked in traditional Kashmiri style can fill your heart with tender goodness. Banjari gosht, dahi gosht, bhuna gosht, Chettinad mutton curry, etc are a few mutton dishes available here. Chettinad mutton curry is a must try for its spicy and thick gravy. All these dishes can be teamed up rice or naan or if you want to experiment, there are lots of option available. Choose from tandoori roti, laccha paratha, rumali roti, keema naan, jeera rice, veg pulao, Kashmiri pulao, etc. Nehars has something for everyone. There are also vegetarians dishes available which are equally tasty. Palak paneer, navratan korma, paneer jalfrezi, shahi paneer, bawali hundi are the crowd pleasers. A Mughlai dining experience is incomplete and meaningless without the well famous Biriyani. Nehars offers a great variety of Biriyani to try. The cooks really put love, warmth and all their culinary skills to make a delectable platter of Biriyani. Lucknowi dumpukht biriyani, hyderabadi biriyani are the most famous biriyanis. Biriyani is accompanied with a bowl of raita; a dish made from curd and tastes a bit tangy. The biriyani experience at this place is top notch. You can never go wrong with Nehars special combo. This is combo meal that serves one person and has a variety of items. It consists of biriyani, raita, salad, gulab jamun and a glass of fresh lime soda. You can definitely get add-ons like chicken butter masala, mutton rezala, etc. End your experience with some dessert. You can try caramel custard, ice cream, gulab jamun or the Mughlai dessert, firni.
The pricing of this place is on a higher note but if you don’t mind paying a bit more for a delectable and luscious Mughlai dining experience, Nehars Mughlai Durbar is a must-visit for you the next time you are in town.
UTTARIYA PAL
Tried both hyderabadi and lucknowi chicken biryani. Lucknowi biryani was better than hyderabadi. Also tried pehwari chicken and firni both were good.

One of the worst places I have ever had my food at. The food is disgusting and overpriced for the quantity. Giving two stars for the hospitality of the staffs and the free lemonade that was offered before the food was served. This place needs to upgrade the food quantity and quality.
Namrata
Best place to have mughlai food with family and friends at much affordable price.
The food was very delicious and in great quantity . Service was also great.
Puja Baglari
Disastrous food. The prices were okay but the taste was not as we expected. They does need to improve a lot. They said that they usually charge for the lemons which are given as complimentary in any restaurant

Been there trice already, the muglai Paratha is very good indeed, the stuffing inside is perfect and had mutton and chicken to go with it. A bit heavy on the pocket but it's worth it.
Driju585
Not at all satisfied. No value for money at all .Very lethargic in service and not at all cooperative. So disappointed.Mutton biriyani we took.Mutton is not properly boiled , no taste at all.Although chicken biriyani , boti kebab, was good in quality , but overall very very disappointed. And too overpriced.
Vikramaditya Chaudhury
This, according to Nehar's is a 'Lachcha Paratha' @ Rs. 45/- + taxes. It was more of a semi cooked 'Kachcha Paratha'! When I called up to enquire / complain, the person who answered the phone proceeded to argue that I did not know what a Lachcha Paratha was. The Manager was conveniently unavailable. The last time that I had dined at this establishment, I had found a hair and upon complaining we were told that as all employees in the kitchen wore caps, the errant hair belonged to a member of my family.

Guys if you ever been to this restaurant please try its biryani and kebab too,its fingerlickin, everything is really yum here , may it be butter chicken or other chicken curry ,the staffs are really polite& responsive,...the prices are also reasonable, the ambience is pretty, you can have a really good time there, and if you uave not visited there yet do visit ,,❣️

I have visited Nehars many many times. It was for quite some time but it is not anymore. The food quality is not like it used to be. Even the reshmi butter masala is not like before. There was a person sitting in the counter who was not very responsive with a smug attitude. I will not visit Nehars anymore unless the person in the counter is fired. And food quality imoroves like before. I visited today i.e. - 14 august 2020.

Worst experience ever.

1. Ordered their specialities as per the waiter's suggestion, Butter Nuns accompanied by Murgh Mumtaz.
Butter naan was as crisp as papad and the pieces of chicken emitted a fetid smell.

Literally the meat they served was rotten.

2. On complaining about the rotten food, the waiter first denied and after having a long argument, he replaced the remaining meat which we didn't have.

Even the replaced food were stale as well.

3. Despite the terrible food, the amount was billed with all precision from their end, taking all the extra charges, which we paid fully without any further argument leaving behind all the food that we ordered, uneaten.

4. Last but not the least, when it comes to ambience, music was just atrocious.

Pictures of the bill and Food (which we couldn't eat) are added to this review. You would be able to make an idea, if you should visit.
Pallavi Phukan
the hydrabadi biryani was just very tasteless and horrible
Basanta Kalita
I know this comment will get lost among other reviews. I had the opportunity to visit this place 4 years back in 2015 although the experience was not that decent. In Feb 2019 we visited the place again thinking they might have increased their quality and ambience, but to my utter surprise the food quality/quantity and wash basin area tidyness is still a pain area that they need to improve considering the value for money. I am not saying that taste was bad but considering the overpriced items and low quantity they need improvement. Dnt get hyped with few bloggers writing good comment as they are being paid to keep boasting about the place abt the good food, ambience, blah blah.

Love this place, the ambience, food, staff everything is just to the point. Being a mughlai cuisine restaurant, they serve awesome European dishes. From kebabs to sizzler, I loved all their food.

Nehars is a really authentic restaurant. It can be located very easily.
Ambience : Nehars has a really good ambience, slow music, clean and neat, decent sitting. It has one floor,so you can also eat upstairs,as you choose.

Service : They are very prompt and very responsive, they are polite too. And alert.

Food : The food tastes great ! It's just the perfect quantity, value for price. We had ordered :
1. Butter Nan : ⭐⭐⭐⭐
2. Paneer Butter Masala : ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
3. Chicken Lababdar Masala (6 pieces) : ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
4. Steam Rice ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
5. Veg Pulao : ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Overall,it's a little overpriced, for students, but it's definitely one of the best places in Guwahati for North Indian Food. Tastes good, great Ambience and good service. Would recommend for sure !

Have a problem with the dine in service. No complaints on the food though.

I had heard good reviews and visited the restaurant with my cousin and his family when I was in Guwahati last December. As we entered the restaurant, being quite late, we noticed that the restaurant was still open. However, even before we were able to take our seats, we heard the manager tell the waiter, in a tone very audible to us, that the kitchen was about to close, and to wrap our order soon. This attitude clearly irritated my cousins who have visited this place previously, as it set an uncomfortable precedent. I suggested that we go to a different place if they were uncomfortable, which they denied. A clear indication of how highly they regarded the food here. Another note here, I have faced similar situations in the past, in many places across India and abroad, where, on arriving very late, the staff would inform us very politely that the kitchen was about to close, and would request us to place our order as soon as possible. This was not the case here. And frankly, it did not matter to me, as I knew it was meant for the waiter in attendance, and not us (still could have been communicated better). And it would have been perfectly okay to tell us that the restaurant was about to close even before we took our seats.

Moving on, we placed our order, from the limited options available at this late hour. While the plates were being set, I thought of going to the washroom to freshen up. I had a left knee surgery last February, so I usually walk very carefully. Our ordeal was now about to begin. As I walked towards the washroom area, and about to enter, I slipped, bent my left knee and fell down. The floor was wet, and there was no wet floor sign. There was a staff who helped me up, and I guess he rushed to inform the manager. While I was checking if my left knee was fine, the manager came and behaved as if this was something very usual. There was no concern at my accident. It could have been much more serious.

I was fuming by then, and I walked back to my table with no staff coming to help me out. When my cousins saw me, they really lost it then. And then came the next surprise, while my cousin’s wife was reprimanding the manager about the callousness, the manager just replied saying whether I had actually fallen down, and that he had not seen it happen. She, rightly lost her cool by then. I was told by them that the usual waiter/manager on the upper floor, who had come down by then was always very well behaved. And I would agree to that, as he showed genuine concern and requested us very politely, after apologising first, to continue with our dinner. While the rest of the staff were blabbering some nonsense, and the manager hid himself in the men's washroom. We however did not have any interest of having our dinner in this environment. We asked the food to be parcelled, while my cousin paid for it and we left.

Here I would like to mention something else. Anywhere else, the management would ‘not’ have charged for the food after all that transpired. I was surprised that not a single staff even offered for that.

I have never seen such unprofessional and untrained staff, especially a restaurant manager, anywhere. Everyone has a bad day, but the way the entire situation was handled was apalling.

I felt really sad for my cousins as well, as we had a most unexpected ending to an evening that had gone wonderfully till then. I do not believe in posting unfortunate incidents on review sites, as I am pretty sure it was a bad day at office for someone, but I had written to your contact email, as well as sent a message on your website, do hoping the restaurant would take note of this incident and take necessary action. However, I was never contacted nor informed of anything.

Note: the food was good.

Pls upgrade, the taste is getting bitter evry tym and the team there r careless abt it. It nothing like wat it used to be. The lucknow biriyani has lost all its ingredients and flavour and hyderabadi is not even what it used to be 😥😥

At first I want to say that the delivery from zomato is very nice and fast. The biryani box was served hot. I ordered Hyderabadi chicken biryani. The box contained 2pcs of chicken, a boiled egg, boiled potato and raita. The quantity of biryani was also enough. But the only thing that was missing is the TASTE. Looked very nice but the taste is not upto the mark.

Bought with a promo code. So it cost me Rs.136. Original price written in the menu is Rs.250 which is exceptionally high for this taste.

Quantity ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Packaging ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Zomato ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Taste ⭐⭐

My mind keeps me reminding of the Nehars Biryani. They really desrve a 5 star for it. Some aweome packaging and great taste. The food also feels fresh and quick in service.
North Indian food is love...I can eat them anytime...nehars have is a very good place to spend some quality time...and enjoy the food...the staff are good they have the knowledge of the dishes...
Tonmoyee Nath
The biriyani served here is really blant. The chicken was really dry of the biriyani. Plus I had ordered crispy chilly babycorn and it had only capsicum and onion in that;the quantity of babycorn was extremely negligible. I'm a biriyani lover and was very disappointed by the food over there.
Shilpica Ghose
A great place to hang around with friends and family. Though the customer services isn't that great, but the food is available at reasonable prices. Great north food, hariyali kababs and chicken tandoori is something that I ordered everytime visited this place. The ambience is a little noisy during peak hours. But the food makes it all fine!
Food Bae
Authentic mughlai cuisins that you can find a great place to be superb environment with good music and a great choices of food ..also not only the non veg choices but the outlet is olso gud for vegetarians

Ordered multiple items like chicken lababdaar, chicken curry, mutton rogan josh, mutton korma, rumali roti, jeera rice, etc from this outlet. The items were good in taste, the mutton was perfect for me. I loved the food that was made in the restaurant, there was no compromise on the taste. Though I have not visited it yet, I will do visit it someday as I loved the food a lot.

Overall Rating:

Food quality:4 out 5
Staff service: NA
Sreya Bordoloi
I have been to this place like 6-7 times in the last two years. No doubt, I love it here. Almost all the times I've been here, I had butter naan, chicken butter masala, chicken tikka masala/chicken tikka lababdar, etc. For starters I love their chicken reshmi kebab. It's easily accessible and the service and ambience is really nice. Trying out their biryani is on my list for the next time I go there.
Riddhi Mahansaria
Very good service and good food. Very good ambience.
Will definitely like to visit again.
Had a great time with friends.
But could delay the closing time so that one doesn't has to rush.

The experience was not so good. Peswari chicken was so tasty
🤩🤩. But malai kofta was lyk a desert.. I didnt lyk at ol.. Rumali roti n tandoori roti was quite good.. But prices are high n quantity are low.. Ambeince can be better.

The patter could have been more varied... I have tasted platters from other places with varied kebabs... The veg platter of nehars is good though... But non veg platter needs more variety compared to the price.

5 stars for both interior and food. Best mughlai durbar in guwahati. Food is amazingly tasty. I went there with my friends once and once I took my family there for dinner. The staff is very good the food is very good . But price is not so affordable but not too costly as well. I will surely visit again

Was invited for a friends birthday party and was my first visit. Must say they exceeded my expectations. We had ordered Butter nans, which were perfect not too oily, not too soft nor too hard. We ordered Afghani chicken and chicken tikka, were pretty good. The highlight was the Mutton Biryani, bloody delicious, the rice grains were juicy and blasting with flavours like pearls in my mouth and not at all oily or sticky. Fantastic. The ambiance is also really good and the waiters are quite respectful and courteous. Prices are definitely worth it, totally justified, surprisingly not at all expensive for the kind of setup they have. 9 of us...bill was around Rs 2500 only. Definitely visiting again! 👍
Antariksh Das
I am disappointed as the biryani which i ordered was cold. Dont know whether it was freshly cooked or served from the one made in the afternoon.
Vikas Singh
Location is good. Food is good but their prawn is not fresh. Bad taste of prawn other wise all things are good. Must try chicken hariyali as a Starter..
Mayuri Bharali
Love this place the most. Very friendly and homecoming welcome. Peacefull. Workers are good. Food is the best part. Went here for almost three times and willing to go 4th time with my family. The taste of chicken tengri kabab and Hyderabadi Biryani was mouthwatering. The chutneys they provide are good too. And the most important part is they serve a cold drink after we reach, which gives a refreshment.

The Original for Barbeque
#Chicken was Dilecious
#Nun was tempting
#Biryani was quite Spicy.
A nice place for a dinner.
Do come here and enjoy the recipe.

My experience in Nehars was good enough.
There service is quick with good staff members.
I had their veg pulao which is cooked really well and then i had their murgh mumtaz and matar paneer😋.

A nice place to visit for dining out with family and friends. Located in Christianbasti, this place has a nice ambience with fast service. Food is also great. I ordered Amritsari Kabab, Veg Pulao and Murgh Mumtaz.

Visited it with a group of friends on a Sunday, the place was packed. The place is a proper family restaurant and has a good decor. The staff was friendly too.We ordered mutton and chicken biryanis. Considering the price ,the food was decent, nothing spectacular though.

On a recommendation from a friend I went there with my mom when she was in town. We ordered Fish Mughlai and Mutton Rogan Josh, N maan o maan it was delectable. My mom is one critical person when it comes to outside food. Creamy items are not her regular (specially not on her fish) but she liked it so much. Mutton was well cooked, soft and flavoursome. And the quantity was more than enough for both of us. Salad was fresh. And the old Music playing live added more flavour (specially for Mom). Good place to take family with courteous staffs.
Konark Jain
Good food. The staff was a bit slow for serving though. Being from delhi, can confirm they serve authentic mughlai dishes at reasonable prices. Good ambience too. Definitely coming again someday!!

I visited nehars with my dad n brother.we ordered Hyderabadi chicken biryani, Lucknowi chicken biryani and one chicken item(I don't remember the name).we loved the taste.as soon as we reached, they served us a welcome drink.that was also not bad.you can definitely visit once.a big 👍from me.
ambience:4/5
taste:4/5
service:3.5/5
Food Craving
Avoid the restaurant. The Nehar Combo was a total waste. The Kashmiri Pulao was plain rice topped with some dry fruits and fruit bits and not cooked together.
Annwesha Shyam
So my experience to nehars was relatively bad since my last visit. The staff was pretty nice but the food was a disappointment. The butter chicken and naan tasted pretty decent. The malai kofta and Kashmiri aloo dum literally had the same gravy. It seemed like they just dipped both potato’s and kofta in the same dish which was pretty unappealing since it lacked quality too. The rogan josh was decent however the mean could’ve been cooked better. We had also ordered Reshmi kebab but the meat was clearly undercooked. The only bright side for me, honestly was the naan :3
Rahul Nayak
Nice place for people who loves to have North Indian food. The food is good, not so expensive. The ambience is good. Had mughlai paratha, kabab n tikka masala.
Pratyakshi Goswami
It is a good family restaurant. I was there with a group of 10 people and they couldn't manage it well. The dishes are overpriced according to the quantity they serve

Such a nice place. Service was good. Food was so damn yummy. I still can't forget the taste of the starter. They make great food and healthy too.
Nehars - the mughlai Darbar, as the name suggests is an restaurant serving mughlai and various North- indian food items. Recently they have also ventured on Bengali themed fish and rice items also.
Review-
Food-(3/5) tried few items out here...to be honest taste wise I found the items to be of average quality...it's not bad...but average.
Kalmi kebab consisted of 4 chicken leg pieces, marinated and cooked in tandoor...taste was good, but considering it costed ₹370+GST...they could have given atleast 5 pieces of chicken! 🤔.
Chicken dum biryani was quite average... although the amount was adequate.
There was a Hilsa fish festival going on...we tried the fish thali costing ₹599+ GST..it consisted of rice, subji, dal, two pieces of ilish( Hilsa) fish etc. Fish was well prepared and tasty, but accompanying items were not upto the mark. They could have given few more items.
Overall, food was a kind of average experience.
Ambience-(3.5/5) the place is clean and decent, and has good partitions in between tables. But they could have done better with some decorations. The choice of music is pathetic. It would have been better if there was no music.
Service-(4/5) service is decent and staffs are well mannered and helpful.
Overall, Nehars could have done much better...had they provided more quality and quantity in the items. As people wouldn't hesitate to pay a little extra, provided they are getting full satisfaction from the food items!

One of the best place in town to enjoy mughlai food. The mughlai parantha with the varieties of chicken and mutton dishes go along very well.

This is the second time I visited Nehars. And this time it was Ilish festival that was going on. I went there along with my friends. When we enquired about the dishes that are prepared for Ilish festival, we came to know that they prepared only two dishes of Ilish and named it ILISH FESTIVAL. We ordered their special festive thali of Ilish which includes 2 Ilish dish(1 pc each), A small bowl of murighanto, one dal, one saag and steamed rice. Only rice can be taken twice or thrice. Other items are for one time only. The price for this thali was Rs.600 + Tax.
Now coming to the taste, I must say what a pathetic taste it was. They should surrender themselves to police for calling it a Ilish Festival. Next time I will visit Nehars only in one condition, only if they pay me for eating such qualityless dishes.

A family restruant with decent decors and interiors , Ordered two combo meals of chicken and mutton . Taste was good .Prices are decent too but the quantity is bit less compared to price. One full briyani is not enough to share between too . Friendly staffs .Overall a decent place to try north indian cuisines 😊

This place will always remain close to my heart. My first date with my would be husband. Food, ambience and hospitality just blend fine to give you a wholesome gastronomic experience. 😊

• Service fast

• Well-behaved staff

• Nice ambience

• Food is BAD

Lets start now

I was craving for some biryani that night I went to Nehars the mughaldarbar which has a really nice score on zomato. As I was craving for some biryani ordered a combo platter of chicken biryani in the menu which had some description below it mentioning the combo consists of biryani some sweets, salad, raita and I can’t recall properly but there’s maybe some drink which was also included in the platter. (But they did not provided the drink to me) the order was fast.

But what I got served was really really disappointing.. The biryani had a taste like its been made from left over rice. they just warm it up before giving it to me, at least roadside vendors selling biryani taste way better than this. The chicken tasted like it was boiled and put inside the biryani just before serving. The taste of the food was awful I couldn’t complete the plate, the price of the plate was Rs 284 including GST, I felt like they charge Rs70 for providing the gulab jamun. Otherwise the raita and salad are also provided everywhere.the service was fast but we do not go to a restaurant to get a well-behaved service but to have a tasy food which was not provided in Nehars. Really disappointed with their food. I m not recommending this restaurant..

I recently visited this restaurant which is of Mughlai speciality and I definitely wanted to savour my taste buds into mughlai cuisine. I ordered Chicken tengri lajawab and Non veg platter, the former one was very yummy though it was not so very new to me but the stuffing was great. Latter one was very common and tasted just like regular tandoori chicken, fish. After that I ordered the Lucknow Chicken Dum biryani and I must say it was the worst part. I am definitely a biryani freak, having been experience with many biryani in different restaurants this was the worst of all. There was no colour, the rice was overcooked and the chicken pieces were so pale. The interior was nice and pleasant. They also play live music.

Once upon a time i thought this place to be an extremely expensive place to dine. I took the risk and went on to try the historical mughlai taste.. Seriously the taste is amazing.. The ambience is good but not amazing. The entire staff is well dressed and well behaved and they just wait for u to call all the times. I dont think you will face any difficulty there. The food was definitely tasty and the service was fast too. In this price range i dont think you will get any better taste in ur mouth.

Had chicken biriyani special thali with friends. The quality of food is good and the taste is good as well. The only thing i have noticed is that the interior can be improved if they want to.

One of the best pocket friendly mughlai restaurant of the city .. Had a real good experience.. The staff were very polite and helpful.. Good ambience... Totally satisfied with the food..

Visited Nehars for a family lunch. We ordered Reshmi Kabab n Tangri Kabab for starters. Both were delectable. Main course was butter naan, rumali roti Kashmiri pulao, paneer butter masala, mutton rogan josh, yellow dal and chicken noor jahan or something.... All the gravies tasted literally the same... Taste wise no better than cheap highway dhabas... Disappointed !
Pratim Roy
Simply, the best mughlai I had in Guwahati. Chicken mumtaz and peshawari were awesome. If you wanna taste some awadhi, go ahead... Give it a try...

Food-3/5
Service-4/5... Overall a good place to eat... The menu has plenty of mughlai options... The food quality is just about good, service is very good... The location is another plus point...

Awsome biriyani and mutton rogan josh. Do try the chicken bharta with rumali roti. Best biriyani in town.
Cons: they increase there rate during festival.

I visited them during Durga puja. Ugh yes it's been long. But the food wasn't as expected. Maybe it was because of the over population. But yet they should be concerned about what they serve. Maybe will visit soon to try some other items.

Why menu is not available in zomato app....must upload it. It will be much more convenient for the customers. Rest food items are good...specially Biryani is awsume...every one must taste it.

The curries and meat cuts are of good size and quality. The biryani was a complete let down .The rice was over cooked and there is no difference between Lucknow and Hyderabad biryani .The service is good though.

Ambience was very good. The staffs are very good and well mannered. Despite of so much rush, the service was really very fast. Overall it was very pleasing.

My friends and I was craving for North Indian food for a long time. We could not find any place that serves good north Indian dishes. However a friend of mine suggested this place.
The place itself is quite huge and there is ample space. Seating arrangements are comfortable too.
We were welcomed with complimentary jal jeera drink and papad. For food, we ordered roomali roti, tandoori roti, Afghani chicken kababs, butter chicken and chicken noor jaha.
Food was quite satisfying. The kababs were served with hari chutney which enhanced its taste to another level. The meat was succulent and had a beautiful charcoal aroma.
Chicken noor jaha was OK, but the butter chicken was the best.
However prices are a bit high compared to the portion served.
NOYANIKA BURAGOHAIN
It's a nice place with good ambience, good hospitality, good food. They also gave us papads as a complimentary dish though its a small thing but it was a kind gesture. Had there roomali roti, chicken reshmi kabab, paneer taka tak and murgh masala. All the dishes was tasty. Just the chicken pieces were quite small against the price of the dishes. Otherwise it was a good food day. Cheers!!

2nd Visit:the present review is based on my 2nd visit,it was a disaster for us,whatever we ordered was the opposite what we got on our first visit.
We ordered a mix vegetable which contained only beans and potatoes, PANEER BUTTER MASALA was tangy....
And the waiter attending us was a disgrace to the place he was not at all interested in his work.
Service was awful.

Please read my earlier review also(BELOW) which I kept to point out the changes which comes to eateries like this, once they get fit fame.

1st Visit:It was a pleasant visit, food was nice, service was excellent, ambience was great, one can easily take their family to this place without any hesitation.
WE HAD NARGISI KOFTA,GARLIC NAAN,DAL MAKHNI,RUMALI ROTI everything was fabulous
But if I have to choose one,i will go with DAL MAKHNI it was creamy, tasted great.....

This restaurant is located in Christian Basti. First it has really good ambience and the place is quite comfortable. You can go with your family and also friends. You can also celebrate your b-day here. About the hospitality: the waiters are well behaved and they make you comfortable. And I had the combo meal, it had a decent amount of biryani and the dessert was good too. The tandoori chicken was soft and tender. Very delicious. The prices are quite affordable and the mughlai cuisine is very good.
Overall a great place to be .
Papia Nath
Honestly didn't like this place that much... The price is high, quantity is very low and somehow the sitting arrangements and ambience doesn't make you feel very comfortable. The food was OK OK nothing exceptional... They need to improvise.

We went for dinner and was totally satisfied with the food and service. The restaurant offers delicious mughalai food at a decent price. Tandoori chicken was juicy. Only disappointment was the Kashmiri dum aloo which was a white gravy and is completely in contrast. Kashmiri dum aloo in a rich gravy with lots of Kashmiri Chilly powder. Overall it was a satisfied dinner.

Last month I visited this place with one of my friend. So,we ordered hyderabadi veg biryani which was served with raita,it was cooked well and for gravy we had paneer butter masala, which was less spicy, contained good number of paneer pieces and also we were offered complimentary papad and mint chutney.
Service is real quick.
Value for money is okay.
Interiors are good.
Overall,a good experience.
