Review South Coast - Guwahati

I have always liked this place because of the food standard they maintained over the years. Mysore masala dosa and chicken dosa are really good. Nice place for family and kids. Good option for South Indian food.

Our visit to South Coast was late in the afternoon and we found the place to be empty. Had South Indian platter which included a dosa, a piece each of idli and vada served with sambar, coconut chutney and tomato chutney. Service was fast and the food tasted good!

The chicken keema dosa here is my absolute favourite!! I have stayed and visited so many places in India but no chicken dosa is comparable to the one found here. I just had my morning breakfast in Bangalore, a Chicken Dosa, which bought back all my cravings from South coast - the crispy dosa coated with the masala and filled with shredded chicken and onions. Everytime I come to Guwahati I will make sure to eat here or order online these days. Although I must say that I miss back the times when the quality and quantity wasn't compromised. But in all, thank you South Coast team for coming up with such a recipe which holds memories.

You can see the restaurant easily from the road. It has varieties of food. I have ordered chicken butter masala and naan.. It was really tasty. They offer platters also at an reasonable price which are very yummy.. The atmosphere is good.. The staff are humble and friendly.. If you want to through a party or get together you can go to there you will love it and your guests also..

I have known this place for a long time. The South Indian Food (mainly dosa) is very good. The ambience is also good, suitable for hanging out with friends, family & relatives.

Located just beside the GS Road, South Coast Restaurant serves good food at a good price. The view is nice from here. We ordered mutton biryani, butter naan, navratan korma, jeera rice and chicken butter masala. The quantity they provided us was sufficient for four people. Staff is friendly and courteous.

What a pathetic food seriously! My photo says it all!!.. A whitish coloured dosa which was soft like bread and cold!! The chutneys served was stinky af... probably an old stocked.. It was a total waste of money!! Not recommended

I am perhaps one of their oldest customer.. being a working married woman now, I have been eating there since I was a kid... South Coast used to be our fixed place for every birthday party of the family... Their paneer masala dosa is my all time favourite.. their manchow soup is too good.... Though their stuff keeps changing, yet everyone is friendly and welcoming... It's been almost a decade for me visiting this place and food quality is still the best..

Experience is not that good. 1st of all they have cooler which never goes with northeastern weather so its quite hot inside the restaurant. 2ndly we got smell from toilet in the seating area. Also the restaurant has no generator connection if electricity goes off. You can check in my photos. After we placed our order the lights went off and we had to eat without cooling facilities in this hot summer with 37Β°C outside. We have ordered Chinese non veg platters and crispy baby corn where corns are not at all baby all are grown n big and not that crispy bcoz of the size. Non veg platter was quiet good.

It is a nice, small place. I ate veg biryani platter there. It was tasty and served my appetite. It was the best veg biryani I have ever ate. These people are very nice and friendly. They deserve more customers.

Best dosa in town. One must try their Cheese Masala Dosa. They are consistent with the quality they provide.Emplyees are very attentive and soft spoken. If it is just about the food I would have loved to give them a rating of 5 stars but ambiance needs to be improved.

Food: 5/5 (I've only tried South Indian menu and found it the best)
Price: 5/5
Quantity: 5/5
Employee behavior: 5/5
Ambiance: 2/5
