Review Talukdar Chat House - Guwahati

Debolina Kar
One of the quintessential chop places in the city. Absolutely love their chops especially the Mochar chop (Banana flower chop), Fish chop, chicken chop and mutton chop. Although the chicken and mutton chop sometimes lack the traces of meat in them. The taste is still good. At their prices, you just want to try out every single one of them. Recently they have added a few more chicken items. Out of which, I had the chicken kellogs which was really good. Definitely worth a try!
Maysha Begum
One of the best chop places in the city
Sumanta Biswas
The jackfruit chop was perfectly seasoned and had a crispy exterior. The inside was soft and juicy, and it tasted just like real meat. The fish fingers were also very good. They were crispy on the outside and flaky on the inside. I dipped them in the Chat House's special chutney, which was delicious.

Suraj
Nice place to visit during free time for snacks. The items they sell here are incredibly amazing and very tasty. I love their chicken choumein, chicken lollipop and chicken fried momos the most. Everything else too tastes fine but the only thing I don't like is that the items here are a bit expensive. Would love to visit everyday if they do a little cutoffs in their price. Overall nice place to visit specially for chicken lovers♥️
Prakash Sarkar
I have only one complain, why there isn't any chicken in chicken chop(Rs.15) . only bones are found in chicken chop .while eating , it feels like the item have prepared with only leftover bones intentionally .
Nikesh Basumatary
Small place for a quick grab and eat. Sometimes when the rush is too much food tastes very plain but mostly good.
Farjana Prodhani
Awesome quick bite options available here starting from fritters , chops , pakoras, bondas, chicken lollipops, and a lot more of other veg and non veg fried options at reasonable prices.. Place is easy to locate and is very popular among the localites. Food is tasty 😋and services are good..👍 Usually remain crowded in weekdays but during weekends the concourse of people is a bit more. They accept only cash..
Ricky Unique
All time favorite. Every staff member is happy to serve you, price is also good.

Gautam Doley
Snacks are delicious to eat, but the space is very little to stand and order the same to eat. Specially when there's crowded.
Jagatsinh Parmar
A place where a lot of surreal food options in a very reasonable rate. And trust me, there is no match of the taste they offer, be it nuggets, chop or anything else. You can't miss this when in Guwahati
Ritesh Kanu
Nothing to complain about. This particular food joint has built its fanbase for quite some time. Munch your favourite chops, ghugni, egg roll, chicken roll and much more. Recently, they have added a few more items to their offerings. Chicken nuggets and chicken pakoras are quite good. Not much of a parking space. A little cramped up area. You are on your own to collect the order and have it by yourself.

It's a great place to have tasty Chops and chicken items. They have different types of chips starting from vegetables, banana flower, jack fruit to fish, chicken and mutton. They have different items such as chicken pokora, nuggets, lollipop and drumstick besides chilli chicken dry and chicken chap. They also started different types of momos. They also have different rolls. On different occasions I have tried different items and found all of them very tasty and delicious. It's a place to go and have some delicious evening snacks. If you are staying close it's better to take away as there is very less space in the shop.
sudip roy
Very crowded. but worth waiting. Awesome taste. Must visit for chicken lollypop and Variety of Chops

This place is a life saviour for people living in hostels and paying guest. It's totally pocket friendly and also hygienic. Food is damn tasty. Had almost everything in their menu. And I loved everything.
Poushali Nag
This place is known for its many varieties of chops available there ranging from fish to prawn.I tried fish chop and kitchen chop and they were really yumm . During the evening hours this place gets quite crowdy.
Kalyan Panja
It's a small roadside eatery with some delicious snacks on offer and the range of local snacks is quite large. For the health conscious it may not be the place to go but for junk food lovers it is absolute haven for a quick afternoon bite.
Chandramita
My favourite place to have pakoras.
I enjoyed every item that i ate till date from egg chop to chicken lolipop
My personal favourite is their chicken lolipop and pakora.
Snigdha Dey
Another good place to go for snacks. My personal favourite is their chicken lollipop and fish cutlet. Everything is cheap and super nice. It's always fresh and piping hot. Located near Milan Nagar Rehabari. This is a must go if you happen to go to Guwahati.
Lipika Boruah
This small chat house located in Rehabari is the most sought after place for a quick evening snack. It's fast service and the varieties of chops, rolls they serve out here are so delicious... This place is highly recommended for everyone..
RUJEBUL ALI
• Food – awsome.

• Service – fast.

One of the best place for evening snack, potato chop, cauliflower chop, fish chop, chicken chop, mutton gugni chilcken drumsticks and what not.. They have a variety of fried snacks.

But their best one is the chicken lolypop, people gather in line for their lolypops.

But it became available after 6pm in the evening, so it bit of a disappointment. We hope they provide the lolypop little earlier than their regular time.

Recommended for a quick evening snack..
Nearly the best in this category, this joint is also perhaps one of the few places that does bengal inspired Chops. The prawn and mutton variants top my list of preference and both are definitely worth trying. The place does very favourably on the economical side as well. A must try !
A&M
Very very economical place! It's a tiny roadside joint in rehabari, serving snacks like rolls, chop, pokoras etc at a very reasonable price. This place has been there since many many years and it's still the same...packed with people taking home some hot mutton chops, pokoras etc or chomping on chicken rolls in the roadside!
Review-
Food- they have a very small menu consisting of various pokoras, chops, ghuguni, rolls etc ...all of them are served fresh and hot at a very reasonable price. Chicken roll with egg costs ₹45 ...which is quite decent, mutton chops costs ₹10...
Overall very economical food.
Ambience- there's nothing to comment on ambience as it's a roadside joint, with no sitting arrangements or any roof, it's a self help service.
Service- very fast service...u pay the money they will serve u the food in minutes!
No GST or any extra costs.
Overall it is good place for a evening snack or take-away if you don't want to spend too much money and yet, have some decent food...and you don't care much about ambience or service.
GAURAV MITNA
I have seen them growing from a shack to a shop...
They have wide range of snack,i have tried most of their vegeterian items, I know this place since my school days, the taste is still similar and the prices too.
Dhritiman Sharma
One of the best places for snacks in guwahati. I love their chicken pakora and drumstick. Also a must try are the variety of chops available. Do give it a try

Talukdar chat house is situated on the main road and is one of the most famous in all the near by locality its the most top running chat house in that area always a good time there. It has introduced much more tasty items which are a must try
Gunjan Sharma
This is a place I tried out purely based on reading the reviews here. The reviews describe the joint correctly as far as I am concerned. While waiting for my order to be packed and after eating it, the most prominent thought that came to my mind is that Talukdar Chat House is uncannily similar to the snack joints in CR Park market in New Delhi - the only difference is that the snacks are tastier in CR Park.

Hygiene 3/5
Passable for the kind of joint it is and as someone mentioned, they seem to use old reused oil.

Convenience and location 3.5/5
There is no provision for seating but you may eat on your feet. Packing doesn't take too long. Two-wheeler parking is no issue; but if you are unlucky, you might have to park your car farther away. Also, it is nearer to the Nepali Mandir; so, people coming from Sharabbhatti side need to go almost all the way up to Paltan Bazar.

Taste 3/5
My favourite was the banana-flower chaap - absolute yum! Chicken chaap was a huge let down because the chicken came with bones! Absolutely spoils the mood and taste when you have to keep picking bones. Chicken roll was average, taste and size -wise (neither too big nor small) but very oily. I really wanted to try the prawn chaap; but wasn't available.

Value for money 5/5

An ideal place to quickly run to on a rainy evening or a cold winter afternoon for your dose of comfort food.
Atlanta Talukdar
Taste level is damn too high in compared to its pocket friendly price. Love this place since childhood. Pakora's and chicken lollipops are yummm.
Hrishiraj Talukdar
4.5 because of the prawn chops here.its just amazing. Its relatively cheap and good to taste.there is always a crowd outsife the shop.have tried the chops and ghughuNi u can say.good to eat there during the winters as well.
Grab a cup of coffee or tea,sit with your friends and enjoy the snacks here.
Rimzim Lahkar
It's a small food joint in the Rehabari area. I was introduced to this place by a friend. We had all the chops available there and the mutton ghugni. The egg chop was the best. Mutton ghugni hardly had any mutton in it. It just costs 20 rupees. Everything is very cheap and delicious too.

But after having so much in one day, I had an upset stomach! The oil used for frying is not of good quality I think. There is no place to sit. Remains quite crowded as the area is a busy one.

This place is located near the Nepali Mandir ..
It is a small place to have some evening snacks.. the chicken pokora chop cutlet and many more .... The food is good and affordable
Foodieforeverandever23/Kabyashree
My favourite street food kind of stall is the best Talukdar chat house located in Rehabari ... Near to Nepali Mandir if you go from Paltan Bazar side ....
Very Famous for its amazing Mutton Ghugni which is just mouth watering ..
Evening snacks be like chops and rolls are also available there ...
One should try for its various chops, the Prawn chop , jack fruit (kothal) chop, fish chop, chicken chop, banana flower chop ... Is a must try ...
Chicken pakoras and the drum sticks are also yum ...
Overall everything in the menu is awesome at very very pocket friendly prices .. It's overall 100 bucks for two people ..
It's fantastic . Please go guys !
Prasanna Baruah
A chat house that doesn't serve chats...But what they do serve are a wide variety of chops and other fried items (that being chicken)...
As ive heard quite alot about this place but wasn't sure what to order so we tried the mutton and fish chops chicken lollipops the mutton ghugni and last but not the least the chicken chops...
The chops were good (specially the mutton and chicken) the ghugni was a disappointment (after two spoons I was breathing fire) the lollipops were the best for me, as they weren't shy on the pieces and the taste too was satisfactory all for 10 rupees is a bargain...
Recommended for first timers do try the chicken lollipops and the mutton and chicken chops and if you're not a spice addict like me avoid the ghugni...
Banajit Bharali
For all those who love roadside food, this is the place to be. A small yet full house place. The menu is full of all sorts of 'pakoras'. You can browse through a number of chicken ponakos even without thinking about your pocket.
Prith
Evenings are beautiful wen u munch it away on fried junks. "Not really authentic" lollipops n drumsticks are a delight. So are the chicken pakodas and chops and "ghugni". Rolls I give them a pass but even they have their takers. The chutney they serve with is spicy and awesome. Cannot get much junkier than this. Till next t m. Happy Eating!!!
Siddhartha Kataki
Rock bottom pricing seems to be the USP of this place. I love their chops which comes with a variety of options to choose from. Meat chop seems to be the weakest link as I found it lacking in meat. Apart from their chop, chicken drumsticks, lollipops and fritters also adorn their menu but I still find their chops way better in comparison. Nothing there to say about ambience as this is a take away joint with the option of eating from their counter top.
Sudipta Kundu
Wow what a place! No seating, no room, just good delicious food! This is mind blowing! A huge variety of snacks like chops rolls chicken items at soooo attractive prices!
Must try!

This fritter house is nearby our old place. I even went there on my last visit. Nice telebhaja, pakora. Most of the neighbourhood has changed. Even the old Vijaya Bank building now houses CCD and Domino's. Still feels good to see an old place is thriving.

P.S. Besides Vijaya Bank building there used to be a decrepit shop selling coconut pops [ patties filled with coconut ], last year on my visit I missed that place- it was Gabur's or something like that, I wonder if it is still there.
Madhusmita
I just simply love the concept of selling chops in a vast variaty. It is the oldest shop in rehabari area which serve chops in a very reasonable price . I myself just love their chops .....n at a tym i cn have 6 to 7 chops. Its really says hii to ur pocket as its dat much affordable. If u really want have their chop plzz go early in the evening or else nothing wil b left 4 u.. :)
Arpita Choudhury
Those tasty ari fish chops are like the delicacies of the area. And the veg and chicken choose come right after it. Worth a try.. Seriously. The place is always crowded. And you're lucky if you get to grab some snacks in the evening.
Ranit Roy
After living in a hostel neighbouring this outlet for a year this place has some of the best memories of Guwahati. Yes, this place doesn't have a great serving arrangement neither a seating arrangement but I had a great time with my hostelmates with the evening snacks and endless jokes. One of the most famous serving for anyone here would be the mutton ghugni. A real delight for that spicy crave.
Saikat
A must try street food joint..... all items are affordable as well as tastey.... chicken pakora, chicken drumsticks, chicken lollipop and their chop, all r the best at such a low price....
Sayanti Bhowmick
I tried egg chicken roll
And chops ....all were tasty enough.
...but don't go by the name chat house.....as chats are not available
All items are fresh
Chicken pakodas are yummy
Shreya Guha
I absolutely love this place. Since childhood i love the chops they offer. So many varities and such good taste. Hands down the best chops i have had till date. The mutton chop, vegetable chop and mocha chop are my favourite. Living in delhi, you hardly can find chops, so whenever i come home i make it a point to eat here. Must must try.
Joydeep Hazarika
This is one of the popular and affordable food outlets of Guwahati. I would call it a food joint and not a restaurant as there are no sitting arrangements. The shop resembles a baker's outlet and the people eat their ordered items while standing in front of the shop. But nobody minds it as you get pretty decent chicken items at such cheap rates! The shop's name is misleading as it is a food joint dealing in chicken snacks and not in chat as the name would suggest. Now whether you want to have rolls, lollipops, pakoras, drumsticks, chops, cutlets, or whatever chicken snack item you can think of; this is the best place in the city to have it at such affordable rates. One person can have his or her heart's fill here with atleast three different items and at maximum the bill would be around Rs 100 only. And I can guarantee that the quality of this place is pretty good compared to other such outlets. I would definitely suggest the chops and the lollipops available at this place. Almost all the items here are of chicken. There are a few vegetarian items on the menu as well. But I've never seen anyone order them.

If you're in Guwahati and want to have some good chicken snacks without dishing too much money, then this is the place to be.
Sandipan Choudhury
Location: Opposite neelkanth apartment , near micromax service center paltanbazar
specialization: this place basically serves you with a large variation of some mindblowing chops. Snack lovers can visit this place. They also serve eggroll, chicken roll, chicken lollipop, chicken pakoras and drumsticks as well, but i would suggest to try the chops, cazz the other items are not upto the mark.
drawbacks: they should probably come up with some sitting arrangements, caz the crowd almost blocks the footpath during the evening time.
Abhilash Baishya
This place is a very low end joint as far as the look and feel is concerned. It has no seating arrangement which is why you would see groups of people standing and eating their food here on any weekday, especially in the evening. The chops here taste great and they cost 8 bucks or less depending on which chop you go for. Also the Chicken lollipops and Chicken Pakoras taste heavenly for just 20 and 40 bucks. If you're low on budget and need to get a bite, you could check this place out. 3.5/5 for the chicken dishes which are cheap yet tasty.
Suman Paul
Probably the most busy and known chat house, if not in guwahati, then at paltanbazar and rehabari area. It is always crowded and that says its reputation. From various chop (chicken mutton vegetables etc) to various chicken items like pakoora, lollypop.
#chicken pokora, lollypop and nonveg chop are the best among all item.
Tastewise they are good. Try them when ever near the area you will love it.
Siddhant Das
This place seriously needs a name change since it has absolutely nothing to do with chats. What it does have is a whole bunch of mind blowing meat dishes and you will never get cheaper meat cooked this well in the entire city, its street food at its very best.

Some of the other reviewers here are raving about the chops but i found the chops to be the weakest item on the menu, everything else apart from the chops are so damn tasty though! The Chicken lollipop, chicken pakoras and the chicken drumsticks would be the pick of the lot when it comes to taste.

Service is super quick, they'll cook the food right in front of you and hand it over the counter. At the end of the day however this is street food and you literally have to eat it on the street or take it home, there is no seating arrangement. But these guys don't give a rats ass about seating or ambiance since the place is absolutely packed with customers during peak hours. This joint is strictly about cheap and tasty meat, if those two words sound enticing to you, then try this place out!

What to review about talukdar's.. It has been a trademark, i have been there for n number of times and time and again i will be there. It is a place to be with friends, pocket friendly, appetizing.

Everything here tastes great.

Must try jackfruit chop, my all-time favorite
Subhomoy Dey
Talukdar Chat House is a small eatery in the narrow lanes of Rehabari area. This place is like a heaven for "Chop Lovers" as it serves wide range of "CHOPS", starting from vegetable chop to chicken chop. They also serve chicken in different formats like pakoras, wraps (rolls) and lollypops. The taste is amazing and incomparable, given the price, which is quite low and affordable. All the items are prepared fresh and are sold in minutes. If you really love CHOPS, this place is a must try.

*Cheers*
Sangram Kar
Most well known chop-ka-dukan in rehabari and nepali mandir... Most kids growing up here or if he or she studied in swastik sir's tuition will know this place...
Saumyadeep Bhattacharjee
This is hands down the best place for chop lovers in Guwahati.. They have a variety of chops which are both cheap and tasty..
Abhinav Acharya
One of the best chat houses in Guwahati. It is famous for its street food. Easy on the pocket, it has all the usual suspects like rolls, chicken lollipop, and a wide variety of chops both veg and non -veg. It is very difficult to choose a favourite item. I 'd recommend each be tasted at least once. Located on A.K. Azad Road near Nepali Mandir, it is open every evening. People throng to the place every evening for some freshly made delicious snacks.
Arnab Paul
This is the best place for chicken lollipops and chicken pakoras...the lollipops hve a crispy coat outside and the.meat is tender..the price is fairly low as compared to the taste..
