Review O Maa Go - Guwahati

Nilam
Visited on the day of Maha Astami 2023 was very crowed..Ordered Veg Thali with khatla kalia and for drink Aam Panna..I would Say all items was very tastey which was served in thali except dessert..but mostly i would appreciate the owner himself was taking the charge to handle the crowd in the synchronise manner...Will visit again for sure..

Delicious food. However the quantity seems less compared to the rate. The Chicken Biryani felt somewhat dry.

QUICK INFO- Mast Punjabi Dhaba is Combined With Omago Resturant....So you won't find any Restaurant titled as "Mast Punjabi Dhaba" (only online services are available in that name) As we went inside with the intention to have a Something Punjabi'sh!!!! We requested them and they accepted the Mast Punjabi dhaba order ( from the online menu). Humble and professional gestures they have ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘. Food Review๐Ÿ‘‡ ALOO PARANTHA: 4.8/5 ( Must have...The tadka tastes heaven!!) TANDOORI CHICKEN: 4.5/5 CHOLE BHATURE: 4.2/5 Dessert>>PHIRNI: 4.7/5 (Must Have) ---------------------------------------------------------- PRICE: โ‚นโ‚น ---------------------------------------------------------- AMBIENCE: 3.8/5 ---------------------------------------------------------- Do order or visit this place and have...they do serve with care :). Again have ALOO PARATHA...its too here. I am sure "Bengali Dishes" , they serve are equally yummy and tasty. Will try someday soon and update my review here. Happy Eating ๐Ÿ˜€

Most recommended dish is the non veg thali.. each and every item of this thali was just outstanding except the chicken and mutton kosha. They used tandoori chicken pieces in the gravy which was totally dried up from inside. The mutton gravy tasted bitter because of excessive & burnt garam masala. Rest everything was good from their service to ambiance.

The food is good and the preparations are really nice. Service is overall good here. The ambience is really beautiful and photogenic. People should visit this place with their friends or families and get the taste of authentic Bengali cuisine.
Tulika Das
The interior of this place is really good and aesthetic. One can have a proper bengali cuisine here. We ordered basanti pulao, papad, coke, chicken kosha, golbarir mutton kosha and phirni. The combination of basanti pulao and golbarir mutton kosha is just heaven, the best. Since I've a sweet tooth for me the phirni was lacking some sugar. Anyways the experience was good. 500-600 per person.

Taste was good. Very well behaved staff. The interior and the ambience is beyond expectations. Now, the mast Punjabi Dhaba and omago has been clubbed together
Diptendu Banerjgee
Great taste, have tried their Puja Special Non Veg Thali and itโ€™s nice.. just 999 bugs Ambiance is cool.. staff are friendly and great hospitality, welcoming If you want to try Bengali cuisine, this is the place to be in guwahati

One of the best places to visit for a Bengali Cuisine experience. They make appetizing Mutton Biryani and Gola Barir Kosha Mangsho (Chicken). The place is really clean and sanitization is properly maintained in the place. The service is really great as the food was served within a period of 15mins after the order. The employees are well knowledgeable and well mannered. The decor of the place was nicely furnished and elegantly decorated. I would recommend everyone to have the mutton biryani and the chicken and mutton dishes as well. The Veg and Non Veg Thali's are also really tasty.

The food is absolutely delicious. No other Bengali restaurant in Guwahati serves such an authentic Bengali food. Keep it up With regards Chef Paul Miami,Florida

I must say the one and only best restaurant I have visited so far in Guwahati the bengali dishes they provide is such a great taste it just feels like having a meal at home the chefs used to cook like homely feeling and the staffs over there are so well mannered and humble they take care of each and everything whenever I visit Guwahati I must have my lunch at there restaurant which I like to have the most just like today I had this Non-Veg thali which was juts amazing with the taste, quality as well as quantity too. Must visit place specially with familyโค๐Ÿ˜‡

It's a lovely family kinda place. The ambience is good but I must say the restaurant is too dirty. The floors were so freaking dirty the day we visited. I dont know if it is the same always.N moreover there was a small cat (which is of someone, might be of the owner). It entered the restaurant and started strolling under all the tables. It really freaked me out. Seriously too dirty. Coming to the food, we ordered Chicken Biriyani, Chittagong style Murgir Jhol, and Bhaja Aloo dum. The taste of the biriyani and the murgir jhol was veey nice, but but....it was spiked with a huge quantity of salt...The Aloo Dum is a must try...it was too yum.... I wish they paid little attention to the cleanliness of the place. That's it... And one thing..A bengali restaurant is incomplete without Rosogolla or any sweet dish...on asking them they had only misti doi and payesh...really disappointing

When it comes to food, no wonder it is good and very delicious. But I lost my appetite when I saw a rat run across the floor. Already there's been flies in two of our glasses. We had excused that. After this incident, I asked if I could visit the kitchen. I was not allowed at first. But then I got the opportunity to have a look inside. So let's start with dirty floor, which they claimed to clean after every shift but it didn't look like it. It was black like muddy and watery all over the tiles, with overflowing and exposed dustbin drums, food left uncovered, staff having lunch beside the uncovered masala trays left to mix or something. I just couldn't. Now, it was Durga Puja time. So they claimed due to the rush and decorations, it was this way. But first, the rush, I didn't see any. There was enough free table for new guests. Second, the decorations, yes, they were decorating the top dining area which made me question that how could they invite guest when the work is not yet completed. With the work going on one side, there will obviously be some dust, decorative wastes and people were having food downstairs where the food is exposed to it. But still the decorations doesn't justify the rat or flies. Yet again I'll say the food was delicious according to what my friends said as I have had only the starters, rice and dal.

โญโญโญโญ for the Food
โญ for the Ambiance
โญ for the Service

The food was very delicious and lip smacking. The ambience is nice and clean. Must go for bengali food lovers.
Abhinash
Average food. Ok ambience. Nothing much to comment because compared to the hype, the taste is just average. Good for going there one or two times, not more than that.
Tup K
The food had no taste. Looked stale and the ambience was also not good. The owner was also a bit arrogant

Definitely Recommending this place to all Guwahatians, a place that has got a beautiful interior with the best Aunthentic taste of Bengali Food๐Ÿ˜, Few Special mentions about the food I loved was the Tomato Chutni, Boneless Elish with mustard Paste, Meetha Pulao, Daab Chingri was Totally outstanding ๐Ÿ˜ and last loved the actual traditional Baked Rosgulla which was Yummilicious ๐Ÿ˜‹.
People please not it down that O maa Go has got in a Special Chef all the way from Kolkata for the occasion of a Durga Puja Special Menu that's getting started from 1st of October and will get end by 10th of October, 2019
I went to the restaurant with lot's of expectations but let me tell you, it was such a huge waste of time and money. Being a Bengali myself, this is the worst Bengali food I have ever tried tasting. To start with it, the restaurant had dirty floors and the washroom did not have water in the sinks. The staff were continuously suggesting us to take thali because thali would be easy to serve and half of the items on their menu were either unavailable or they said that it would take a lot of time to make that item. The starter Bengali fish fry, quantity wise it was good but the basa fish used was raw and super chewy, not properly cooked. The choto maacher chorchori was very regular kind of, my mother did not like the taste at all. Same was the case with the katla mach er tomato jhal, the fish was soft but taste was super blant. The Chittagong masala murgi, which has been raved about in other comments was just like any other regular chicken item that we have, nothing great. The daal too tasted blant. The veg thali was probably the only good thing that we ordered, I will not comment on it because I didn't taste it, my father liked it so I guess it was fine. All the items are super overpriced. They did not have nolen gurer ice-cream, which is usually available in the Bengali restaurants here. So we ordered nolen gurer payesh, which was ok, again nothing great. They did not provide finger bowls. And they were not accepting card payment as well. I had the worst experience there. I just hope they take up their game or else there is no point in wasting valuable money on such a low quality restaurant when there are other good restaurants in the city service great Bengali food. Please make sure you do your research before you visit this place.
Nabanita Bhattacharjee
Worst experience ever. Rice was half cooked. Dishes were not at all tasty. More like south indian dishes than Bengali. Unhealthy environment. Dirty floors. No courtesy at all from owner and staffs. Debit card machine also didn't work. Service is very bad.
Jyoti_singh
The place was good and silent here the bangoli food is really good and tasty staff are very friendly and well-behaved design was awesome I think the price is quite large

An authentic Bengali restaurant with the look and feel of Bengal.
The food is amazing and gives the pure taste of Bengali cuisine. I recommend people to order for Thalis as it would combine many of the authentic items like the begun bhaja, posto veg stir fry, basundi etc.
Also go for the fish items as Bengalis are expert in that matter. You would love the Ilish or the Hilsa fish if you are a fish lover.
The waiters are friendly and cooperative.
Service is good.
If you spend a little bucks extra, it is worth it.
Sukanya Dutta
A very good place for all the Bengali foodies. The place where you can find all the variety in reasonable rates. Moreover, nice place for family get together. Staff behaviour is also very good and they serve wearing their own bengali/restaurant formals. Would recommend everyone to visit this place
Sahnaz Begum
Okay so at first we didnt visited this place. We actually visited mast punjabi dhaba. But that place was too hot and there was no AC or maybe their AC was not working hence they took us to this nearby place with Bengali Cuisine. They said that the owner of both the places were same.
Now lets talk about the food. The Chittagong Masala Murgi( Chicken) was very unique and very tasty but the ghee roti and plain roti were okay okay, not so tasty . Overall the place is nice, the staff is good and the ambience was also nice. Hence, 3 stars.
Banashree Baruah
One of the best place for Bengali cuisine in town. We often dine in and also take home delivery. The Kosa Mangso, Chicken curry with curd, Sorse Ilish all are a must try. The Sweet Chutney especially tastes divine with Luchi. Desserts are good too! Service, Quality and Quantity are thumbs up! Do try the Aloo Jhurjuri Bhaja and Bengun Bhaja with whatever you order! In one word delectable!
Sweety Saha
Taste was good but items were less in the thali . It was not as per the advertisement. Alu juri vaja was missing in the Thali. Hope you take it seriously.
Niharika Saikia
Good staff...Dressing is traditional.
A beautiful bengali restaurant..We ordered chicken biryani , aloo posto , chittagong murgi masala and roti...
All were good but chittagong murgi masala was the best...
The price is high but dishes are delicious...Tge quantity is also a bit less according to price...
What so ever...the food is good..
Bawarchi_rishi
The staff is very bad they r not following the basic ethics of hospitality the service personnels r a bunch of brainless creatures...... I don't know about the food but the staff is very poor
Joyasyummy
Earlier it was good but now the taste is detoriating day by day specially golbarir kosha mangshow it is not like wat i tasted earlier it was so delicious back then but now i doubt
Immon Ghosh
They serve tasty food. But the price is quite high. Otherwise everything else is good. The ambience, the freshness of the food, cleanliness and way of serving are worth appreciating.
Subho Pratim Kar
Food was fab . Fully satisfied.
1 star reduced becos the payesh had a bitter taste and we were told its to be eaten like that only. ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„
2nd star reduced becos they dont accept card and i had to walk to bora service to take out cash after having such a heavy lunch.
Ria
Finally visited the place.. Must say the biryani was really good.. The chicken pieces were so soft , on one touch the flesh separated from the bones ..The ambience of this place is awesome along with beautiful bengali music playing in the background.. Two of the waiters were also dressed in traditional attire.. Gives you the feeling of being in a small bengali household... At the end the food really makes you say "O MAA GO" ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜
Shilpica Ghose
Being a Bengali, this place was a respite from all the hostel food. Though there are thalis, but we preferred alacart ordering. Mutton kosha is one of the best things on the menu. It's a reasonable place in the heart of the town. The ambience made it look like a mini Kolkata away from home!
Gaurav Paul
This restaurant's name is a common shout out in Bengali. After eating at this restaurant you will want to shout the same and run out of there. Apart from being pricey, it does not stand up to the authenticity of Bengali food. Period.

Many items are not even available. The management should look into it.
Manish Barnwal
I'm visiting Guwahati for a few days and wanted to try some Bengali food.

Read the reviews on Google and they were great. We visited the place for late lunch.

Everything from starters till main-course was just delicious. Poshto chicken was the best deal. Give it a try next time you visit the place.

For desserts, we'd ordered mishti doi but it didn't live upto the expectations. But overall, you should go to this place if you want a taste of authentic Bengali food.
Jhilik Sen
ambience -- 3/5
service -- 4/5
food -- 3/5
visited there during durga puja...ordered steamed rice, vetki paturi, mutton curry and nolen gurer icecream....mutton curry tasted worst...nolen gurer icecream tasted the best
Rakesh Lahkar
Ordered dal, mutton kosha and aloo posto. Mutton kosha and dal was average and posto was pathetic. Very limited dishes because of durga puja. Ambience was nice. Do remember to carry sufficient cash as they dont have card payment facility. Not worth the amount that i paid.
Prabal Boruah
Ambiance was good, Ordered for two veg thalis , Bahu mas with sarsonย &ย fish Head with lentil everything was delicious . Service was good. Will visit soonย again.
Vishal Singh
A nice little place to enjoy Bengali cuisine.. The fried fish with mustard sauce was a tad bit overcooked. I would recommend the Murshidabadi Murgi Fry.. It's delicious.

O maa go!!

i felt like O maa dont go!!

i just looking for some decent Bengali food in this native place but my bad luck. searched on google and zomato and landed to this place.

small cozy place on 1st level. reception is on ground but you dont find anyone to welcome you there. they dont have bottle aerated beverage as most of the places in guwati. they do serve by glass and that too costly somearound 100rs for a glass.

well m disappointed with the quality of food. mutton biryani is just average and mutton kosha , i was wondering is this right dish i have ordered.

i am big fan of mutton, trust me i didnot had a single peice of it. I don not think i am gonna visit this place again.

You can find this place decent if you have never visited kolkata and tried food there.
Kritanjalee Sandillya
Not so good not so bad.
I ordered Veg Thali at Rs300. I think it was overpriced. Taste was OK. Since it was a Veg Thali I was expecting more items.
Abhijit Sengupta
Ati jaghanya Muri Ghanta.....Not to try please, west of money......... Bengali murighonta is a very delicious which is made from fish head with rice....It make traditional way...
Sajid Alum
Not a good service. The potato was raw. The food is overpriced. Not enough space for parking big car. Could have been better. I was really expecting more after reading the reviews
Rakhi
Food was really good and delicious.. And the ambiance was also good.. I would love to go again.. And it's located in the heart of the city..
Kvklohit Momong
My self ordered non veg thali on 20.05.2018 noon, the mutton was stale, the hilsa fish was un cooked and very poor in quality, even the papad was moist type, so hopeless food ever. I shall never visit the place again.
Chirasree Das
Awesome!! A family resturant..friendly environment..Delicious foods๐Ÿ˜‹ Loved it..I went with my family, all were happy with the food and price was worthy. Love to visit it again.๐Ÿ˜

o ma go, the best place to relish Bengali food in Guwahati. I was in love with the interior, and the theme . Food was quite ok .The atmosphere the restaurant created make you feel like you are in Kolkata . Being a Bengali, kosha mutton with fried rice is my favourite, and ordered that . unfortunately kosha Mutton was quite disappointing. Hope it improves it's quality.
Debie Kharlait
on the way to the restaurant that I have plan for lunch, I saw O MAA GO and I change my mind suddenly and want to try Bengali dishes, the food that they served is very delicious especially, mutton and the potato that they served, they do served Thali also in a copper plate which I haven't try yet but I will.lovely food friendly helpful staff.
SUMIT DAS
Heard a lot about their thalis so marked up my presence for the same a few months back. The special thali had a plethora of dishes and sides spread beautifully on the palate and all the items were refillable. Tasted good but nothing extravagant, to be honest. For a non Bengali, this could be a really good and economical option to gorge on the digestible culture of the community but for those who have it on a daily basis, there's a lot to be desired on the taste front.
The Mutton curry was quite appealing though.
Anjuman Mech
Honestly, i had never tried Bengali food before. Ever. And, frankly i was a little worried about it too . But once I got a taste ride, i actually really liked it. And i have to say, my first bengali cuisine experience was a great one, thanks to this place. The food was great. The ambience was amazing and lovely. The service was great too. And yes, I would suggest it to my friends and family.
Shyamalima Tamuly
One of the best bengali cuisine in the city. The interior was good, but the best part was the food. I tried the non veg thali which included chicken, ilish, fish cutlet, mishti pulao, veg course, daal, etc and each and every item tasted delicious. Service was good too.
Bong
Authentic ambience with authentic Bengali in the heart of Guwahati city. Ordered a veg Thalia which had innumerous items- luchi with chholar Dal, sada bhaat, Sona moong Dal, jhurjhure alu bhaja, begining, mocha bhaja and korai suti chop bhaja. Also had aloo Posto, mix veg, tomato chutney, papad, gurer rosogolla. Heavy lunch but a great one
Apurbba Nandi
The place is good and even the stuff is OK OK. Tried the food out there today, quite satisfying. The advice can be they can try to keep complementary dessert at the end. Even the amount they give is not upto the prices they set. So it's better if they upgrade and comes upto expectations.
Kundan Roy
good place to eat if you love bengali food.i had chholar dal, prawn and mutton there.the dal was awesome..so was the prawn.mutton was average.the environment was good..the place was well decorated with bengali song playing.but the negative part was the service and the price.the service was not good and i think the price is a little to high compared to the food quality

O Maa Go is a restaurant serving Bengali cusine, situated in ulubari.
Review-
Food- decent quality food.
Liked Golbarir kosha mangsho....it was very tasty....but the quantity was too less.
Posto chicken was good too... quantity was decent.
Veg pulao was good, luchi was good as usual.
They also serve veg/non-vegetarian Bengali thalis. They are also decent.
Costs are average to little high, no GST or service charge.
I wish the quantity of food was little more.

Ambience-its quite decent. Clean and well lighted place.

Service- decent service, staffs were well mannered.
Overall a decent place to have a Bengali meal with family and friends.
Aparna Das
Authentic bengali food...not so large menu..we had mutton kosha and peas pulao, it was quite good..the smell of ghee in every dish makes you more hungry...the veg thali is also good with the large variety of bengali dishes served in a thali(luchis were hit)..
Overall, a good place to try bengali food..๐Ÿ‘
Sonia Mehra
Realli glad visiting this place the quality taste of food was really nice. The presentation and the hospitality aswell was really good. I guess they should have more sitting area to avoid waiting. Must try their illish fish boneles mustard gravy awsome. The concept of bengali food being so tasty is put up very well by them. All the best
Tamanna Chaudhury
Just love their food.. good ambiance, perfect for family dining. The taste and aroma reminded me of my grandma.Wished their menu had some more. Shorse pabda, khosa mansho was prepared in typical Bengali style.
Rebika Singha
Awesome authentic Bengali food Serve here.. just love the place.. I went for malai chingri which was not available that very day but I have sarso elish whigh was yummy....๐Ÿ˜™๐Ÿ˜™๐Ÿ˜™
Dipangshu Das
The worst food I could ever have! They are charging like a bomb for the foods they are serving, & the food is of the worst quality you can imagine (to be honest, you can't even imagine how worst the quality of food was)! The food was tasteless! I couldn't eat the entire thing!
Pratim Roy
If you want to have authentic Bengali cuisine, this can be a good choice. Interior decoration will give you a pint of insight of Bengali culture plus the Rabindra Sangeet playing in the background is also makes you feel light. Food is great in terms of taste and quality but quantity is little lesser than the other restaurants nearby. I just want to conclude that if you haven't visited it yet, you should give it a try.
Rituparna Majumdar
The best and authentic bengali cuisine food joint. That serves a special range of authentic Bengali dishes starting from the Ilish being my personal favorite dish there. The chittangong chicken too is beyond delicious. Loved the food, ambience, the staff was friendly. Overall a good experience.
Ria Nag
This is our third visit on dashami night.. Food is awesome but quantity is not appropriate.. Staffs are well dressed and well mannered.. They welcome you with a smiling face..True Bengali environment and Bengali flavour..

We went 8 people but glasses serves was 5 had to call them several times for more glass to be served.Overall disgusting experience.
Priyanka Sutradhar
Worst food , worst experience ever.. yuckkk !!! Worst Bengali restaurant ever , waste of time and money. Foods are pathetic , and half cook and also less spicy , which i hated the most.
Himashree
Interior is good, eye catching. Music is good. Service is also good. As a bengali resturent you must try fish in there. We have ordered fish and chicken both. I found no flaws in any item.
Rommie Chahal
Excellent service and amazing food.love the mutton kossa the best in town...if u haven't tried u have missed something very good...the veg thali is so so good...very nice presentation....

Worst bengali restaurant one could experience. Foods are pathetic it's kinda half cooked. Not once but twice I was ditched by their so called authentic bengali treats. One of my friend got allergy after trying their prawn malai curry. Never waste ur money n time in such a fake bengali eatery. Think twice before visiting there.
Richa Boro
Really liked it here. Authentic Kolkata-style Bengali food and served in Bengali style. Fan of its chicken curries and also pocket friendly. The ambience and the music is great and soothing.

OMG! DISGRACE IN THE NAME OF BENGALI CUISINE
O Maa go I advice my fellow foodies should never go.
1. Starting with the first impression the way they were dressed was having no resemblance to Bengali outfit.Bengali outfit carries cotton sarees not the glossy fancy Georgette one which they wear.
2. Coming to the service we had to call them 2-3 times to get a serving of rice which took a bit long, moreover starter was delivered after the main course was served.
3. Now stepping towards food we ordered Matal Chingri which was bit salty, veg thali which was fine,Golbarir Mutton Kasa which is named after the famous Golbari, shyambazar, kolkata(popularly known for its mutton dishes)after having the same in omg I've forgotten it's actual taste,we tried 3 types Katla fish dishes None of them was upto the mark among them doi katla- which was too sour which they checked after telling them and clarified the reason for being sour was the result of using yesterday's curd.
4. Tomato Chutney and Rosogulla were the best i had over there.
Dibyajoti Singha Roy
One of worst selection of my life....and wasted my day thanks o maa go Restaurant.....Ur a insult in the name of Bengali cuisine.....please Change ur ambience and chef much needed........

If you are bengali and want some superb good food go and hog in o ma go so from fish to sweet dish all are too good must visit this place for sure
Rupam Bhaduri
Ambience: Good. Proper family types.
Service: Decent
Food: Good. If you are a fan of Bengali cuisine and you find all the other restaurants serving Bengali food closed, then sure, why not.
Worth the money?: It is little expensive but itz ok for once in a while.

P.S: You don't get the best Mutton Kosha here.
Arpita Chakraborty
When I visited this place, the menu items were different as that of now.So, I ordered one veg special thali which consisted of .....rice,pulao,papad,aloo sidoo, shag, brinjal fry, aloo chips fry, chutney, sabji, dal, payesh. Each and every item tasted heavenly. Home made food it's like ,for the bengali's. The one's who love bengali food ,you should surely try this place, they serve really good food both veg and non-veg. Interiors are decorated in a typical bengali way, value for money and service is goo too.
Sophie Vangchhia
I love the ambience and it's a kids friendly place...i had a great experience and the mutton kosha is awesome..i suggest it's a must visit for those who love Bengali food..

I stumbled upon this restaurant by accident, an accident that turned out to be delicious. The Bengali Vegetarian Thali was extremely tasty, with just the right amounts of food that nothing was wasted. To finish it off was a cup of very tasty 'payas'. The manager and waiter were very cordial and helpful. All in all, a good stumble in my opinion.
Ritaban Bhattacharya
ambience was ok..the veg thali was good but didn't lyk the fish dish..the gravy was not so tasty..the staffs were cordial enuf..not a bad place to hv a taste of kolkata in guwahati..
Dhiraj
Best food I ever has in guwahati. ..love the thali and mutton ...and the way they serve the thali is so tempting. ..must visit restaurant in guwahati. ..will come again and again and again. ..
Anwesha Saikia
It was better than I expected from reading the reviews. I ordered chicken kosha which was much better than I had last time.My only concern is that it was little spicy, rest was fine.
Faruza Nasrat
It was my first visit. Didn't like the food much. Nothing extraordinary. Price was also a bit too high. But the Ambience and location is good.
Xee
Awesome bengali cuisine, taste of Kolkata, lovely ambience... Good staff members neat & clean environment with healthy dishes. Authentic place & foods too.
Ayetree Mazumdar
It is a kind request please update the menu cause we plan to eat something else and after going there when you see a different menu with different price list, it is quite annoying. The food was tasty and the interior is also great. Lack of a washroom is the only minus point of this place. Thank you.
Joydeep Hazarika
I recently tried out this place on the evening of Saptami for dinner. The place was crowded and there was a huge rush. So me and my friend were lucky we found a table for ourselves. We decided to go heavy for the night and settled for rice, mutton kosha mangsho and chingri malai curry (the small ones). The food was good though nothing extraordinary. But we knew we wanted more. So we had another round of rice along with two plates of golda chingri malai curry (since there was only one single piece of golda chingri in each plate served). They were also good though I was a little bummed that they tasted the same as the other chingri curry we had earlier. I had some more space in my tummy so I also had a plate of bhetkir paturi. That turned out to be my favourite pick of the evening.ย

We had a fine experience at the place, if not very good. The ambience is good and the sitting arrangements were also decent. But some minor things did bug me. I had asked for a glass of cold drink and it was brought to me in a paper glass. I mean, seriously? Even cheap and modest restaurants serve cold drinks in sheesha glasses. That was a bummer! We also felt that the quantity of rice served per plate was not satisfying. Or else how come we had space in our stomach for a second helping of rice? We know we ate a lot that night. The food at this place is good. But it can be much better if it has to stand to the competition in the area in terms of Bengali food. Also, this place is not at all cheap. So we want our food to be really our money's worth.

As the name goes 'O Maa go' that instantly came out of my mouth when I saw the prices. Anyway, after much thought we ordered our food. Since the rates had already murdered my hopes of having delicious bengali food, I was amazed with the quality. Being myself a bong,I can say the dishes were quite impressing. Kosha mangsho will be my favourite from this restaurant. It was tenderly cooked, the taste was lip smacking. I only wish they had given more pieces, considering the fact one is paying more than two hundred bucks. The fish curry was average. As far as the interior is conserned, the space is too compact with hardly any room to move freely, the ac was not all working, the service was bit slow. Overall, my experience was good at O Ma Go. The things that they really need to review are the prices of dishes and also sitting arrangement. If you are non bengali and want to try out the bong dishes, head to Omg and be ready to dig a hole in your pocket!

I visited the restaurant for the first time with my family, this year at Durga Puja. Food was quite good. Ambiance, well enough. Talk about service? Not satisfied. The dining mats were not so clean. We ordered 3 Veg Thali, with 6 different items on it, but my dad got same item on 2 bowls. One of the item was missing on my mom's plate. Though I really liked the food, my dad said that there are more bengali-cuisine restaurants out here better than 'O Maa Go'.

okay, first of all if you are veg forget this place. for veg they have only one dish malai paneer, which is two pieces of paneer with a tasteless curry(no signs of malai or butter). Secondly a foul smell of dried fishes comes from the cutlery. I was unable to drink water because the glasses smell very bad. though the pan that they give at last was pretty good, the overall experience was very bad. the food was pretty tasteless and any passionate foody could say that the dishes were not at all ethnic bengali.
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Most important point was price. they charge 600 for one thali but still quality they serve is not upto the mark. they charge 450 for elish fish but the size of elish they serve is worth 100 or so.
At last I would just say that this is not a place where you can eat paisa-wasool. this place is just a below standard "FINE DINING" restaurant.
But still if you are having strong craving for Bengali food and ambience, you can try this place.

If u don't want to be a fool then never go to this restaurant....went there with my entire family to have Bengali dishes.Ordered elish and mutton, the size of the elish was very small and no taste neither smell totally wasted my money and tried brinjal fry...god was shocked after it came,it was small then a carrom board stricker and finally when the bill came in my entire life even in 5star hotel bill I didn't see the number of taxes column even the cashier was unable to make me understand y so many taxes were charged by them.

Went to this place as my team wanted to have something in Bengali cuisine. And it was the nearest joint v cud find. Interiors are gud and service too is at par. The food however isn't dat extraordinary as they claim. We had both veg and non veg..plus my colleagues were Bengali ...so m sure they can rate it way better Dan me. Price is a concern here.. Its quite expensive as compared to other Bengali joints. Overall I had a happy tummy but I guess I might think of other options next time I feel like indulging into a Bengali delicacy. ๐Ÿ˜Š

My regular place for lunch serves a good corporate veg or non veg thali at 150 or 190 bucks. Overall service is okay but wish a little faster.all kinds of fishes are available but need a matured cook for meat preparations

Biggest rip off. I dont think only making the preparation authentic makes up for the poor quality of fishes they use. Exorbitant prices. Not at all authentic.

A place where u can have authentic Bengali food - nice ambience - very good ๐Ÿ˜Š service and staffs - I liked begun bhaja, chutney and chanar dal a lot - a bit overpriced however the quantity of food is good - u need to think before ordering so that there is no wastage - try the thalia its good

If you love fish and Bengali food. Don't go here. There are a lot of people out there who would tell you that this is one of the best Bengali restaurants in the city. This is pure conjecture. Although i am not a huge fish fan but i still know what Bengali food should taste like. The chatpata chicken starter smelled funny. The chicken also tasted weird. In the main course the prawns curry didn't have any taste. It was plain and blunt food. The kosha chicken was the only dish worth eating and the chicken was undercooked. The only thing I liked about the restaurant was a special jaggery ice cream and it was really really good. The service was really superb but what's the use when the food was such a disaster.

One of the worst bengali restros i have ever been..the quantity is too small for the prices they charge..n quality they still have miles to go to match their counterparts..

The veg thali was nice......chicken kosha was good but the prawn dish was not good it tasted very average not worthy of the authentic Bengali title,Rou fish was not available....the tables were very closely arranged n when filled with people feels claustrophobic.......the mitha paan is good though.....thought of visting there again well I don't know.....but I m really disappointed
