The perfect Bengali lunch one can ask for. Their staff is super courteous and service is also fast. You can taste the freshness of food and every item is very delicious. Difficult to find it's match in any other city.

Ordered from swiggy their veg thali and sahi paneer, the quality of food is very good , every item they serves tastes like you are at the comfort of your home , the paneer was very soft and the gravy was well balanced overall it is a very good place to have thali , i can eat that on daily basis i would say , no over oil in food like other hotel. Good job ๐Ÿ‘

This is literally the best hotel where you get good Bengali food at a pocket friendly price. The food is great and well cooked. The staffs are well behaved and the waiting time for your food is also very less. I have been eating in this hotel from my childhood and still I can assure that this is the best in the area. If you visit this place and want to have a good, authentic Bengali meal then this is the place.

This is a tiny place on a hidden street and our driver brought us here when we requested local food. The food is lovely, thali has a wide variety of items and the staff is very friendly and attentive to your needs. Second helpings are provided generously. Atmosphere is relaxed and just how a little local place would be, this is obviously not a fancy restaurant. It is small, neat and clean.

A must visited bengali restaurant for food lovers in guwahati. I ordered the basmati thali which comprised of unlimited rice, dal, salad, one mix veg, soya bean sabji, papad, dried fish chutney, aloo pitika, pudina chutney, brinjal fry. I ordered the katla fish (local) the prices are nominal. Restaurant was full of people where one can seat in first floor or ground floor. Overall a good experience.

Best as always!! Since childhood I loved this place and it's food. Keep it up!!

Good place to experience Bengali Cuisine. A veg thali is enough to fill your tummy. No extra charges for extra fillings. Just seat and eat. Good behaviour too. One can experience the ambience of marriage reception at this place. N.B: Finding the place is difficult initially. Dont rely on google map just ask passers-by, you will reach quickly.

This place was on my bucket list for a long time.. As I stay in Beltola, Maligaon is a little far from my home but I went there for lunch during Ashtami this year.. as expected the place was crowded due to the Puja rush. Tried the Basmati rice thali and their popular mutton curry.. taste was average not worthy of the hype.. but I wouldn't judge them as I went during Puja. Expect good quality the next time I visit there.

Good hotel for lunch and dinner.. Rice thali is tasty but can be improved. Stuffs are sightly cold and so the taste is not coming up to the mark... Overall is a good experience I had

Best hotel where you get tasty Bengali thali at a reasonable price. We have ordered veg thali where we got lots of unlimited items. And all the staff are well mannered. I will recommend to everyone to visit once.

It's a very good Hotel at the place... I came from chennai , one of My frnd in Assam only recommended this hotel to try... Really awesome, had more than 15-16 dishes in plate, couldn't able to taste all, and fish curry is unimaginable, ask are local river fishes from Brahmaputra i hope... Even the service was good, i recommend ask to taste their once...

I went to Maa Manasha Hotel 3-4 days back and I was totally disappointed. My parents fall sick due to this. Food was homely but taste of the food was not up to the mark. Salt less food and bit unhygienic. Hope the quality will improve sooner or later.

Just arrived at Gauhati today. Then tried lunch and dinner here. a very good place indeed. Genuine homemade cooking and all items are available. Basically they offer a huge quantity of everything. Tried chicken thali. It contains rice, dal, soyabean, papad, mashed potato, bringal fry, shutki, and chicken.. then chutney, payesh too. At dinner, they served even more. Rice, dal, alu potol, white veggies, dal rajma mixed, papad, bringal fry, a tad bit different type of shutki this time, aloor dom, then chicken. The lemon pickle was too good!<br/>But Who could eat these all?! ๐Ÿ˜’<br/>Every item feels like home. Thumbs up!

Visited on 27 Oct19 on the way to Alipurduar via guwahati as this restaurant was on the way to Ghy Rly Stn from airport. The restaurant is located in a narrow lane of local bazar and a bit difficult to locate. we ordered two meal thalis and a catla fish curry and a motton curry. The catla fish was stale and in motton they served three small bone pieces without meat. may be we were travellers with luggages so they disposed off the stock. Taste of food was OK OK not great as we like bengali food but experiance was disappointing and their bussiness ethics is really questionable. Food quality does not match with high rated reviews in Zomato and google.

Whenever I come to assam, I always prefer to go to this hotel...their thali, alu paratha these are my fav...thali contain a large no of items like bhat, daul, aluseddo, papad, beguni, shutki chochori, mixed veg, another 2 types of veg,chatni,payesh...moreover all the items are unlimited...you can have how much you unwated only at the price of 100 for basmati rice and 90 for aijan rice.

The food and menu of the place is quite good. The food is almost home like and can be easily ordered online. The quantity served is good and so is the taste. I have tried it a number of times and would surely recommend to others who would like a traditional rice meal.

I am the first time user of Zomato and i have odered small fish and after receiving the oder its smell so bad as if they provide me expired food...kindly provide good and fresh food as we are paying for it.

Too small pieces. When we order 4 plate for rs 1095. Means we want 4 plate . Not all item packed in 1 conteiner. Worst experience ever.will neve order or visit this hotel. You people are making money this way. Looting us. Shame on you..

Maa Manasha Hotel is located at Maligaon in Guwahati. As we are from Kolkata, it took us some time to locate it inside Bara Bazar but the travel was worth it.<br/><br/>Location: It is at a popular but congested location. It is accessible by both public and private transport. However, parking space is limited on the road. Rating: 4/5<br/><br/>Ambience: The ambience is basic. It's clean but nothing to talk about. Seating arrangement is available on two floors. Rating: 3/5<br/><br/>Staff: The staff is extremely courteous and service was prompt. They ensured that our lunch was extravagantly good. Rating: 5/5<br/><br/>Food: The food was extraordinarily good. We had ordered the following.<br/><br/>1. Basmati Thali (INR 100): We had ordered 3 thalis. This thali cannot be shared and unlimited serving was given. The items were Basmati Rice, Yellow Dal, Lemon, Coriander Chutney, 2 Types of Fries, 2 Types of Mix Veg, Shutki Maachh, Papad, Chutney, Paayesh Salad. Every single item was repeatedly served and the taste was delicious. The spices used were mild and perfect. Rating: 5/5<br/><br/>2. Mutton Curry Half Plate (INR 120): This had 4 small-sized pieces of Mutton and half a potato. The Mutton was soft and the gravy mildly spiced and delicious. Rating: 5/5<br/><br/>3. Chicken Curry Half Plate (INR 100): 4 pieces of small-sized chicken were cooked in consistent gravy. It was great. Rating: 4.5/5<br/><br/>4. Small Fish Half Plate (INR 80): A bowl of riverine tangra with a significant coriander tinge to the gravy. The gravy was very thick and reminded me of my grandmother's recipe. This is absolutely recommended. Rating: 5/5<br/><br/>Overall, we had spent INR 600 for a hearty lunch. We will surely recommend this restaurant to all and visit again when we land in Guwahati.<br/><br/>#starwordsindia #foodblogging #bengalicuisine #guwahati<br/><br/>

One of my fav.place since childhood. Pure bong food if you want to have at a super cheap price, visit this place.<br/>Recently tried their Roti, plain dal, paneer butter masala.<br/>Everything tasted like "ghar ka khana".

Absolute brilliant stuff this place serves.. With extreme value for money..<br/><br/>We had a normal thali, fish and mutton.. The Thali had basmati rice, daal, sabzi, bhujiya, aloo Chokha, coriander chutney, fish achar, pumpkin fritters, papad and salad (phew).. all for Rs 110.. All items were homely and special with Chokha, fritters and fish achar being the stars of the plate.. The fish was standard stuff of Rohi fish in Mustard Gravy..The Mutton was superstar of the lunch.. Falling of the bone pieces of meat in a watery gravy with potato, this is the stuff food legends are made of..<br/><br/>The service is fast and friendly and at 400 odd bucks for all of the above, VFM is very high.. Ambience is of the old world all-you-can-eat places.<br/><br/>In guwahati, this is a must must visit.. If taste were ever sublime, here they are..

One of the best place in Maligaon area to serve traditional Bengali homely food. The place is easily accessible by a rickshaw or e-rickshaw from the Pandu side of Maligaon Chariali. Just get down near the Bara Bazar Durga Mandir and walk into the restaurant. The place serves both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. You can get thalis or order food according to your choice. The specialities are the small fish curry, dry fish chutney and kosha mutton which are lip smacking. Even the sorso hilsa is good. Pocket friendly. They even offer catering services for your occasions at home.

a small family restaurant where one can experience the variety of bengali dishes. totally value for money. ac and nonac halls available. great space. lots and loads of items in cheap price. a perfect place for sunday lunch or daily brunch.

Looks like there is no option for home delivery..they promised to give me home delivery and after that they are not picking up the call at the 11th hour as it was an online transaction..Saw the good reviews and so intended to order from here..but it was not fruitful at the first time itself.. ..At least Zomato should provide us option to order and take the responsibility thereby. Finally got it delivered after lot of followups. Tastewise- good. Professionalism needs to be little improved like attending calls from customers should be promptย  and all transactions related stuffs should be smooth as it is under Zomato

Good food for the price....they serve thali in unlimited quantity... Since you can take any amount of food, and the food quality isn't bad, it's a good place to fill your stomach during lunch hours without hurting your pockets.... The location is tough to find unless you ask people around ....

The best place you can have mutton curry and dry fish chutney from. Feels like home. I would never give up on this place no matter whichever pricey restaurant I visit. You can go here around with your friends and family and you wouldn't ever complain. The only thing that bothers me is that the location of the hotel isn't good. It's unhygienic even though the hotel maintains its hygiene.

The best place for thali and specially the availability of different kinds of fish. The thali's are as good as their goodwill. The price are modest. The most pocket friendly place for thali's in Guwahati. Thank me later.

Visited this place since my university days. Perfect choice for a student when you miss home food. We used to eat veg thali at that time. After long I was there in last Sunday afternoon with my friend. It was fully packed with customers, can't even manage to take a pic. We had veg thali with malai-singri. Veg thali was damn good, malai-singri could be better. Cost was also pocket friendly. Happy tummy happy us.โคโค

Best place in maligaon area for authentic Bengali(not Kolkata ghoti) meal, complete with shidol chutney(dry fish chutney) and sweet tomato chutney. The environment is good and is always crowded, might be a bit difficult to find a seat during peak hours. Affordable and value for money.

whenever i get bored eating fast food..i just run to this hotel..best hotel in guwahati i have seen...too clean and hygenic hotel..price is affordable...variety of food items ...

Visited this place on a Sunday afternoon and the place was so packed that I wasn't able to click a proper photo of the food served. But don't let this fool you, the place is huge with lots of seating space. The ambience is that of a typical rice hotel where you eat, pay and leave. But the food served is the best Bengali Cuisine you can get in Guwahati. Unlike other fancy Bengali restaurants, the food here doesn't burn a hole in your pocket. Veg Thali is 80 Rs. and Basmati Thali 100. You can order chicken, fish or mutton for extra charges. Half plate mutton costs 120 and chicken 100. The service is prompt even on busy days. Finding the place though can be a but tough for people visiting the place for the first time.

This is a rest. Located too interior and far off from the main road.. ambience wise its like a bhojanalay..and it was fully packed with coustomers ..we visited there last year.. we sat there to eat with very low expectations but when we started eating the veg thali.. God o God it was so nicely.. sucha homely food.. they served 3 kinds of fry and gravy.. dal.. rice.. salad.. papad.. roti..chutney..pakoda other dishes were also available if you wanna order.. the former ones were all you can eat at 90/- .. it is a must visit place if you like those bhojanalay kind of pocket friendly home cooked all you can eat meal.. !!!
Lipika Boruah
My favourite go-to place whenever I'm in the maligaon area. The place in which this hotel is located is a bit congested one but as this place is so popular so it isn't that difficult to locate it. Now coming over to the food, it's just SUPERB. True bengali meals with a wide range of dishes. The mutton curry, the chicken curry and specially the elish is so delicious. The interiors seem to be crammed but then that can be compromised for the food they serve out there.
Prasanna Baruah
These sort of places don't get the recognition they deserve because they're not places many people like visiting or they're not easily accessible but they serve food which can beat the best in the business as far as taste and value for money is concerned...<br/>P.S :- sometimes a simple plate of Bhaat (rice) and mutton Curry along with dal and other condiments gives us a satisfaction which can only be substituted my good old home cooked food...
Akul S
One of the better off-beat restaurants I've been to. Submerged in the markets of Guwahati, this place suffices a craving stomach. The food is pretty good and the pricing is apt. The veg thali is super filling and offers a decent spread. Nothing to question about the taste here. <br/>Note- If you're travelling to the airport and want to grab a quick, yet filling bite, then this is the place for you as well! A must try!<br/>Ambiance- 2/5<br/>Food- 4/5<br/>Service- 3/5<br/>Price- 4/5

Good homely food. The veg thali is very fulfilling as it contains a lot of items. The fish dishes are highly recommend. All in all its a place meant for grabbing a good hearty meal and not for fine dine.

I love this place. Introduced by a friend who even took the whole group at the right time (lunch time) when all have skipped breakfast in hurry. Seeing the thali it was like one two three attack ๐Ÿ˜. Seriously this place is awesome. Cheap but value for money (just 70bucks for a rice thali and 20 for roti). In most of the places the price is cheap so does the food. But coming here you will never be disappointed be it a vegetarian or a non-vegetarian. Have had several times roti thali or the classical bengali rice thali and non veg items all of it tasted good. Not easy to find such a place in Guwahati. Would love to visit again. The dadas here are very friendly. Achyut Bora Digdarshika Thakuria

Absolutely worth the money. Decent ambience for the kind of location. Try out the unlimited veg thaali to have the feel of fulfilment. A bit crowded with mixed population. Must try if you are in Guwahati.

This Bengali joint is not located right by the road. You have to know your way inside the lanes and if you do stumble upon the place, you're in for a superb feast. The veg Thalis that they are famous for are priced as low as 70 bucks in which you get a really really good deal of items, I kid you not. There are two types of platters: Aizong and Basmati, the former being priced at Rs. 70 and the latter at Rs. 90. The platter consists of the rice, dal, two Sabjis, a carrot pickle, pumpkin fritters, aloo pitika, papad, lemon slices, dry fish chutney, chilli pickle and of course a lot of salad. All this, I must highlight, are refillable- as much as you want!! To go with the veg platter, we also ordered two plates of Ilish cooked in a rich mustard curry and an Assamese style mutton curry. Both of them were very well made and wasn't rich like the type of curries which turn you off. The service is very good where the waiters are constantly looking after you and serving you with as many helpings as you want. This place is an underrated gem.
Derrick Correia
Bengalis are gonna love this place! Very good food at a very good price. You get two rice options when you order a thali. Aizon and Basmati, which are โ‚น70 and โ‚น90 respectively. Battered and fried veggies were really tasty. The Shukto was fabulous. There's just so much of variety. We ordered Rui Fish Curry and Prawn Gravy. Brilliant fish preparations. The Prawn gravy was really creamy and the fish curry was also quite good. There was "Mishti Tok" too. Bengalis will know the importance of this. Overall very good. Just know that this isn't your usual resto with nice seating, waiters with uniforms, etc. But if you want the true taste of Bengal then this place is a must visit!

" It was Good real good kid but as well as I will be around you will be always the second best "<br/>- The Mask (Hollywood film) <br/><br/>My opinion :-<br/>It was niceeeeeeee experience trust me <br/>But somehow I felt like there is a war between Rs 500 below clubs like Raja mircha and Maa Manasa Hotel and other hotel which I may not be aware of <br/><br/>But coming to the point food delivery, location, ambience and prices are pretty good <br/><br/>But I think I personally didn't like that's the taste of the Local chicken curry...... Curry was good... But chicken is somehow less tasty then I excepted ( You can say chicken is 3 out of 5) <br/>.<br/>Although taking into consideration that the local chicken is very hard in absorbing the flavour <br/><br/>That's my my review

It is a nostalgia..when I used to stay in guwahati(maligaon area),we used to go to this place. Hard to find some extent, becz it is located at a busy narrow lane of pandu bazar. They used to serve a special "shutki'r chatni"( a dry fish preparation),which was mouth watering..The rice, dal, fish, curry evryrhing is fresh and excellent. Dont go for the ambience, although it was clean. A cheap bong food hub in that area I remember.
Siddharth Sen
Nice place but to remember this is situated inside a very big bazar with its surroundings being quite dirty. Its a as we call it, a line hotel, and not a homely restaurant. So if u r coming with family, tell them to adjust. But great for students living in mess or hostels as the budget food will suit them. The quality of food is OK and not super. The quantity offered will impress all.
Durba Ghosh
Awesome food.......it's very reasonable.....if u r looking for a mouth watering bengali food near by maligaon,pandu.......this is the just perfect place....the local chicken curry and the picklle of green chilli and mustard sauce is my favourite over there....in one word...... Those who are fond of Bengali food should go and try there. Though it is tough to locate the place for first timer but it's very famous and located in front of Durga Mandir, Burabazar, Maligaon. The thali has variety of items followed by dry fish chutney and date chutney and lots of fried items. Must try fish items especially HILSA Fish made up of mustard paste.

Best place to go if you are looking for some simple indian food in the most affordable price. The place is bit congested n real messy. Better go for lunch/dinner with not more than 3-4 friends/family members.

This place should be removed from delivery options of home because it doesn't provide home delivery .The food is good but it doesn't provide home delivery options

If you are a Bengali and you are missing home cooked Bengali food away from home this the place you got to visit. Authentic Bengali cuisine and it's extremely reasonable. We had veg thali. They asked for two rice variants and we chose Basmati. With rice they served aloo bharta, dal, aloo curry, salad, green chutney, sukto chatni, pumpkin fries, papad fry n to complete it all, sweet tomato chutney. The best part is you can refill anything any number of times. I m still not sure if I m forgetting something. There were too many stuff to count trust me! The service is quick and everything is well organized. I had a wonderful experience n will look forward to visiting again.

Awesome bengali food at a reasonable rate with superb service. Though it is far from where I lived, I was really glad that my sister tagged me along and ate till I couldn't eat a spoonful anymore. But totally worth it. Fish kalia was OK for me but the veg thali was super good. Sukto was yummy. And kosha mangsho was mouthwatering. <br/><br/>Totally recommend this place if you are looking for authentic Bengali cuisine in Guwahati.
AZAM SIDDIQUI
Food is decent priced. A bit crowded at peak lunch hour but then that's how popular it is. Generous servings and quality of food is just brilliant. A wide variety of fish preparations and Bengali specialities offered. Location is a bit in the interiors of a sabzi/ fish market

The place is small and clumsy with people running all over the room but that doesn't stop one from enjoying good bengali food. This place has been a saviour for numerous students especially the ones of AEC where you get homely vibes at decent price.
Hasibuddin Ahmed
I went to this restaurant twice when I was in AEC. It was a spot frequented by boarders who are looking for good home-cooked food at decent prices. I would say it's a great place to have fish items and their thalis are also something that needs to be tried.

Only one word- paisa vasool. Well those were two words.<br/>Everyone was talking about this place so mom said lets go nd have the Sunday lunch there.<br/>It was around 2pm on a Sunday and we went through the durga mandir gali and when reached there was a sea of people in the hotel. Apparently that hotel comprised of two buildings ( one was not enough you see) and both were houseful. But there was fluidity. We didn't have to wait much.<br/>The items in the veg thali were:<br/>Rice, dal, bhaji, aloo sabzi, aloo pitika, chutki fish, mustard chilli achaar, papad, eggplant besan fry, nimbu(while other restaurant cringe on giving extra that chota nimbu, here there was endless flow whenever you ask for extra nimbu that too the local big one), khatta meetha achar as far s I can recollect now. You just run out of rice to eat with all these items man nd that too for Rs.130 only.<br/>There are extra items too which you must order if you want.<br/>Among the fish, the Rou is the sasta one only Rs.40 :) Others like Ilish, Borali, Seetol were 230โ‚น or something like that. The curry's are typical Bengali styled ones. Super rich in gravy and oil and masala and above all taste!!<br/>The local chicken is for 240โ‚น and broiler is 200โ‚น with succulent onion gravy.<br/>As far as the service is concerned, its the BEST in Assam!! Before you ask for anything they will be hajir.<br/>If you want to have a homely Bengali meal away from your own home then this is definitely the place.<br/>Cheers to food.<br/><br/><br/><br/>P.S.: Was so busy eating that couldn't even get some pictures of the food ๐Ÿ˜†

After a tiring day of car servicing my uncle suggested this place as we were passing by maligao. I was shocked to see the rush inside this hotel. People were waiting to get seated and it was already 3 o'clock in the afternoon. We found out the reason once we ordered.<br/><br/>We ordered basmati rice thali for four, 2 plates chicken curry and 2 plates egg curry.<br/>To say best meal I ever had in recent times veg wise as the chicken curry was not so good.<br/> The attitude of the servers were pretty good and I guess this is the main reason why the hotel is soo busy with people all the time.<br/>I'm going back for sure as its fulfilling taste wise and money wise too.

Total value for money.<br/>Great Bengali food.. Must visit place for those who are from west bengal. <br/><br/>Ambience is not so fancy but it's USP is its qty-price combination. <br/>Totally loved it..<br/>

It serves typical bengali food. The food is good and serves fresh. It has got 2 option with rice i.e. Basmati and the other 1, normally home rice...I would suggest for the Basmati 1. There speciality is Shutki(dry fish)which is jus mouth watering. The food that come as a whole of meal is served unlimited. Its totally a value for money.

One of the best Bengali restaurants in the city, this is a regular place for me and my friends whenever we are in the neighborhood. The shidol chatni is just mouth watering. Also one should try the chicken curry.

Opening a hotel is not big thing, but maintaining its standard since long past is amazing. This hotel have done the same. Well..in a city,if you are hungry and got very less money, this place is the best option. Position of the hotel is little bit puzzling. Although it has got a wide range of items in their menu, but it is mostly popular for Rice and Roti thali. There are so many items along with a thali and that too cost less than 100. Good place for having a nice bengali meal.

This place is a typical Bengali hotspot for the people of Maligaon. It serves the authentic Bengali Cuisine in this area. The menu has the enumeration of Ghoti as well as Bangal (Chittagong and Sylheti) dishes. The interiors are native and has the rustic charm. The place has decent sitting arrangement and ample space to accommodate crowds. I'm a satisfied customer of this eatery for more than 10 years now.<br/><br/>The food is awesome - both in taste as well as quantity. A typical bengali veg thali will cost around Rs.80 or so. Moreover, unlike other eateries, you can reorder all the items in the veg thali as much as you want. Plus, they also serve complimentary brinjal fry and dry fish (my fav). Given the quantity and taste, this place again justifies the affordability of food items at Maligaon area. If you're in Maligaon and looking for some Bengali Cuisine, this is your destination.<br/><br/>Tip: If you visit this place during Durga Puja, then you might find this place overcrowded. Moreover, there is a possibility that the quality of food may also deteriorate. So, if you're planning to visit this place during puja, may the Lord and fine luck be with you.<br/><br/>*Cheers*
