Review Benison - Guwahati

Visited after a long time, had chicken momo, size and quantity has decreased over the years, year ago the stuffing was the main reason for my visit but it still taste good, had a decent amount of onionand chicken mixture and the soup was awesome.

This is one of the place here I feel nostalgic. I used to spend a lot of time there 3-4 years ago. That day I went there, happy that they had maintained the same taste. Love their tea. 🤩

Nice place to eat when you are near Guwahati club. Wide variety of foods are served with reasonable price. Place is small and sometimes one have to wait for a while. I was first came in this restaurant in 2009. Since then I come in this place to eat whenever got the chance. I loved to eat momos in here. One spicy red sauce is given with momos which is my favourite. One can order food from this restaurant on uber eats app also as per the information provided by owner.

Great food they cook. Tiny space but good food. This is chicken thupka. Ate all de chicken so you can't see any here. It may not look that pleasing to de eye, but food is tongue. Sight is complementary. And smell, you need to be here. What I mean is your tummy will be satisfied. Price also reasonable.

I tried out their poached chicken momo and it was quite unique and delectable.Loved their quantity along with quality.Good Service as well.
Pranay Saikia
Good food, especially their momos, which are by far one of the tastiest I have ever tasted. They can improve their restaurant by rebuilding their interior.
Jyotirmoy Borah
Located near Guwahati club . A great choice to Chinese delicacies
Upasana Bordoloi
Great food, reasonable rates, good service. Their momos, rolls, gravy chowmein truly stand out as great dishes. And the owner is an example of a great entrepreneur. When she arrives at the shop, you can feel the energy and passion she puts into attending the customers. Such a down-to-earth and hard working lady, I wish her the best in life. 🙂

It's a relatively small food joint but is centrally located in Guwahati Club and fully Ac. But when it comes to it's food quality it's at par with the taste of some prominent restaurants. Although being a small food joint yet it never compromise with presentation of the food served to you. The owner and staff are cordial and vigilant to not disappoint any customer. Preference : Taste it's Momos, it's literally too good served with a thick soup.

Another awesome place to hangout,
these place never fails to impress me
known for their amazingly delicious, juicy and meaty momos, their momos are best in the town...

highly recommendable 5/5

I used to visit this place when i was in 10th. The momo was good. It was full of chickens. The new benison has raised the price and the momo is full of onions. I hate to say it but it has lost its glory.
Earthy Angel
The best momo I have ever had in a long time. Momos were soft and juicy and the soup was hot which is something very perfect for a winter evening.
SPANDAN GOSWAMI (RAJ)
The menu is outdated here in zomato. It is a small joint which can serve 24 people at a time, the place is a bit congested. I ordered mix chowmein gravy and baba roll (wanted raja roll but they said it would take 45mins). The quantity of chicken, pork and mushrooms in chowmein was good but it was a bit on the drier side 4/5. Baba roll for 95INR is not at all good, no cheese, less chicken and that too it was wet. When i told him about the quality of the roll, the manager politely said sorry and that cheese is not there today. 2/5
I guess their chinese items are much better than these.

Owner are Polite, They are friendly. & the momos are great ,not overpriced but pocket friendly. I am again going for other dishes & drinks . Must go place.

Service was very slow. Had momo steamed and poached. It was average. Nothing too exciting. It was too spicy for my liking. Price also a bit on the higher side.
I had poached momos today at this place. Best momos I ever had anywhere. The soup is also very tasty. Going again tommorow for some more momos
Compared to before the quality of the food is getting low.. Momo's are good.. Price is reasonable.. Ambience average.. Except the momo's other things should be prepared nicely

Benison food court is a small restaurant situated just opposite to T.C. girls school in Guwahati club. It's been there since many years and it still serves decent quality foods in reasonable rates.
Review-
Food- a pocket friendly place to have a good meal or snack.
It serves various fast food items like momo's, noodles, etc.
Do try momo's they are quite good. Poached Chicken/pork momo's are yummy.
Soups, Rolls etc are also quite decent. Overall decent food.
Ambience- it's a small place, basic sitting arrangements. Nothing much to talk about.
Service- the lady owner of the place is quite good and helpful. They have little shortage of manpower, when the place is full.
But overall service is decent.
Basically it's a great place for students!
Benison is a good place for people who want to eat some decent food on a reasonable budget .... unlike so many other fancy cafe's, which have mushroomed in the city lately, which charges outrageous money for some ...not so tasty/healthy fancy food items!
Terrible service. Served us so late we almost starved ourselves. If you are understaffed then let the customers know. It was practically cheating unsuspecting people!
Wheels N Spoons
Very small place, only one hot cake is fried momo, biriyani is pulao served with chicken and they call it chicken biriyani, comming to fried rice they dosent make shewezuan rice. They just modify some normal rice and serve. Momo is something one can try there.

It's near guwahati club which in the centre place of it. The food is good price are pocket friendly but the only interior is just very small and uncomfortable.

Food and service was much better earlier. Food was very delicious and momo was also the best but now the staff is changed and even the service sucks and the food quality too. Hoping for old benison

One of the best food joints in town . Good food at pocket friendly prices. I have tried momos , fried rice , noodles and all were good especially the momos were soft and juicy , loved it to the core and so was the prawn fried rice which was yummy too . It's one of the best place to eat on any day ..

Benison is that very place which serves you quality and quantity at a very reasonable price. Let it Chinese or Indian it seems they have upper hand in both. All the food lovers please step in to try steamed dumplings or manchow soup or kassa chicken... As I hv tried this I would rate it 10 on 10.

Being a big 'momo' fan, I never miss out on the opportunity to try these all time favorite delicacies (and mood swing alleviation medication) in different outlets around the city. So Benison had been on my hotlist for quite sometime. I ordered Poached Pork Momos(home delivery) and the first thing that won me over about these were the serving size. Six beautifully shaped dumplings in an abundance of gravy accompanied with two dippIMG sauces and kimchee and a magnanimous amount of chicken soup. The chicken soup would fill you up on its own and I gotta say that it wasn't like one of those bland soups they usually serve with dumplings in many other joints, this soup had flavor, texture and body. The dumplings were soft and perfectly cooked, not doughy and not chewy(doughy and chewy Momos are the worst kind of Momos). They were pretty generous with the pork filling too. They kept it simple, allowing the pork to shine in its natural juices. But what disappointed me was that gravy. It had too much of corn flour in it and that was pretty conspicuous. It had a after taste which really affected the " Momo experience" for me. The kimchi was a little too sweet and although it was an overall satisfying meal what it lacked was some spice. Cheers!

Awesome place awesome food awesome quantity with so much of reasonable price...Momo's and gravy noodles are a must try good place to hang around

It had been a good experience been here..Good quality food at a reasonable cost. And the serving hospitality was also vry nice.Everyone should come here at least once specially to taste North Indian cuisines.

A small place to enjoy good indo-chinese fast food...you should try chicken momo with soup....really good...noodles is also good...service is good...have to mention that as the food point near the main busy road , you will face a problem regarding parking place...
Hungry Panda
I love this restaurant with all my heart! Visited dozens of times, tried so many dishes and everything is one word "tasty". Be it chicken, pork, prawns or mutton you can pick anything,I bet you won't regret. However it is too small,I mean, really the place is congested and there are most probably only 6 or 5 small tables . Otherwise it's the perfect place to grab a meal. Best garlic chicken I have tasted in the town. And yes don't forget to try the momos, soft, yummy and fully stuffed. No VAT.
Hrishiraj Talukdar
One of the oldest joints in that area. The place is a bit old but the momo taste is simply nice and the moMo is also the same taste as before.visit the place once. Parking may ne available near the smc school as well.
Chinmoy
This place really serves good Roll and momos.. the price of the dishes are reasonable and affordable... one can surely fill your stomach with savings.the filling inside the roll is outstanding ... You must try once 😊

One of the oldest outlet in ghy but still maintaining tbe same a little price has rise but ya good taste and good quality of food is served here
Pranjit Das
Its more like a fast food corner than a restaurant... Typically serves basic chinese and indian foods.... Pleasant taste, satisfactory quantity, prompt service and pocket friendly bills make this a joint a suitable place for evening hangouts...
P.S. - A must visit for non earning couples!!!
Susheta Chanda
The place is synonymous with momos. Half of the people flock in the evenings for their share of, what I may say, one of the best momos in guwahati. I have had them since five years and the taste and the sauces it comes with, keeps getting better. It's a bit congested place and they run out of the momos in a while though. I have a complaint with the price though. They started with 50 bucks which now has reached 130 bucks. You don't feel like shelling out that much for a plate of momos there. So the visits have decreased. :( hoping they come down and we mom lovers can have them more frequently.

Its a small restaurant just opposite TC school but the food here is awesome. Especially momos and the raja roll. And the best part is - it is pocket-friendly. :)

Benison located opp T.C school, guwahati club is a small place with quality food .. They serve you with amazing chicken momo , great tasting chicken cutlet and the Mughlai Parathas are just yummy ...
It's mostly crowded in the evenings. Very famous among students of st. Marys, T.C Girls and also B.Baruah college . It's also known for its reasonable and pocket friendly prices ....
Overall it's a good place for good food 👍
Rimzim Lahkar
A small restaurant located opposite to the T.C.School, serves great momos in a pocket friendly price. The minced chicken along with the chillies, ginger and garlic tickles your taste buds! The soup that comes with the momos is delicious. And the amount is generous. Apart from momos, chicken spring roll is really good. The place is mostly crowded in the evening. Time taken to serve your food is pretty fast. Wish the place was slightly spacious.
Antaraa (Emon)
Located in front of TC girl's school, it's a small joint, not very good interiors, nor much spacious, but serves delicious momo! It mostly remains crowded in the evening with hostel students residing nearby, who goes there for the momo. Apart from momo, they also make yummy spring rolls, chowmein, thukpa, and much more. But rather than indian dishes, they make tasty chinese dishes! You must try their momo and spring roll.

Good place to go and have something which suppresses your hunger at a not so pocket burning price. A very good place to have and takeaway fast food. They serve good amount of quantity which is also good for the ones with big tummies to fill.

Benison has been a good option to us Saint Marians considering it's close to the school. I remember the first time we visited benison years back, we had gravy noodles and it was decent. I have always heard about it's awesome momos but I have always had other things like noodles and rolls mostly. In my latest visit a few weeks back, I ordered a Chinese chicken chopsuey and I was really impressed. I was kinda sceptical as to what quality they would serve. When the food arrived at the table, I was satisfied with the amount of food they served which justified price, more so because the chopsuey was overloaded with mushrooms, baby corn, chicken and an egg poach. Could I complain? No! Could I not like it? Hell, no! It was awesome! And though the place is tiny, the food is mostly great. And I appreciate the owner's efforts to make sure the customers get everything properly.

I don't understand the hype and hoopla surrounding Benison...
The food they serve is adequate considering the prices they charge for such mediocre proportions...we tried the chicken spring roll and the raja roll as they were pretty awsome I was told (and also as the momos were not available when we visited at around 12pm so we had to settle for them)... Taste wise they were good but for a 130 rupees for the spring roll and 150 odd for the raja roll I was left a little disappointed when they were served in front of me...and also the place is abit confined which is another negative...
I can go round about the place everyday for a plate of chicken momo and soup. Believe it or not, I always ask for the soup once more. #fullbelly #loveBenison

Its located at one of the busy students area in the city. I have been going there for years now...bt can't remember ordering much items except their momos..the best momos I have tried so far..:-) I also recommended this place to my friends n family for momos and everyone liked it very much..i would love to go there more often if they have a bigger place to seat and to enjoy the food. It's a little conjusted for many of us.
Sidhartha Dutta
easy to locate but consider yourself lucky to get a seat especially when you visit during the evening. Prices are on the lower side but quality of food needs to go up. The chiken rolls will make you feel satiated but quality of cooking oil is low, sauces packed is also not desirable. A strict no from my side although I didnt try the momos or the pork items but not to my liking under any circumstances
Jeet Sonowal
We went to this restaurant with my sister and friends just for having some evening snacks and also heard a lot about their Momos... The restaurant is very small and I think their service is also could be better... Their Momos are really tasty...we also tried their Pork fried rice, Paneer Pakoda, Veg Hakka noodles and everything was good except Pakoda which I didn't like..
Guwahati Foodie
Well-located with schools and offices around, this little place is worthy of your money, if you can get a chair to sit on. The place is usually full around the clock, specially the evenings. And they have a reason-MOMOS(Only served in evenings). I can’t really figure out whether it’s the filling or the sauces they serve with it, or the thick egg-white laden soup, the momos they serve are a must-try! The rolls and other items are also worth a try, better if you land there hungry since you’re sure of coming out with a heavy stomach. The only disappointing thing would be the prices which are a bit over-the-top, but then again, the food they serve is fully satisfying, in quality as well quantity. The service is super-quick too. The place would be the only thing that might need a bit of an upgrade perhaps, becoming too congested at times.

Momo yum. Rolls yum. Indian food yum.
The whole menu is yum yum. They should extend the place so that more people can have their food at once :). Very pocket friendly. I love this small, but cute with amazing food and with a good service place.

Raja roll, raja roll, raja roll. Have the raja roll here. Best thing on the menu. I have been here a hundred times maybe and almost every time i order it. Order it friends

It is a Small but cozy place with some amazing food. I love their momos and the soup :) the service is good and so is the pricing of the various dishes.
Taste It Up
Must go resturant. Everything is good. Must try everythng. We had paneer in garlic sauce and tawa butter roti, chicken hakka noodles, egg fried rice, cold coffee and chicken momos. Everythng was delecious and no compromise on quantity and quality as well even rates are reasonable.

What I like the most about this place is its amazingly mouth-watering food. Yes, they are a bit smaller than many other food joints in the city, but what to do, I cannot resist going there for its great food. The momos in Benison are said to be costly, but what I say is if you pay good, you get good. yes, they serve amazing momos, whether you order for chicken or pork momo and the soup that accompanies is hot, warm and comforting to soothe the hungry stomach.

The last time we visited this restaurant, Me and my hubby ordered for Chicken Biriyani and a half tandoori Chicken. It took hardly few minutes for us to devour the whole thing and still craving for some more of it. The biriyani was moist, warm, tempting, aromatic and just delicious in taste. We tried the tandoori chicken for the first time in Benison and yes, it tasted better than that of the J14 Tandoori Chicken!

Tip: Do keep the bill with you and carry it along if you make it to go Benison within a term of 30 days of the last bill, you will get a 5% off on the current bill!

I was a frequent visitor of benison when i was in Guwahati , last time when i went there I was happy to see the changes in the ambiance , and what to say about the food its awasome at such low price , so i suggest everyone to visit it atleast once whenever you are near Guwahati Club

A friend took me there, where I had to treat him momos. And all we had is momos, but that place is good what it does to the dumplings. I literally was ordering plates over plates. Pricey but good. I tried only momos so cannot say much about anything else. Peace.

Good Food though low on space.. Try their chicken Momo.
Mrinal Das
food is good here. but time management os not good. customers need to wait for longer time. Its a small place to sit. but still atracts people due to its good tast... rates r bit high....

I first visited this place when three of my friends insisted that we do. Just the day after our matriculation results day, post school visit, we visited this place. Ours was a group of 12 girls so we faced a problem in the seating. But the food quotient was good. Especially the dumplings and the noodles. Yes it is a bit costly as compared to their service and space. But the food quality and quantity is worth it.
Abhinav Acharya
Benison is just another restaurant with average food and below average service. But yeah, soups are tasty.
Su
The momos are very good, juicy...rest others are ordinary...pricey too ...you can also taste the tea...
Utpal Sarma (Yourfoodieguide)
I visited the Benison Food Court with one of my friend, from looking outside this place is look like a old restaurant but as we entered we noticed that it is quit well maintained and decorated. After impressed by the inside beauty of this place, i look at menu to order and special mention here that their menu is bit costly. Their service is also good as food take few minutes to arrive. Taste wise their food is good and quantity wise also they serve in big amount, the amount is so big that i cannot finish my full plate. Apart from the price i really like my experience in this place. Overall, this is a good place to eat food but of course you need to have few extra bucks in your pocket..
Pratik Paul
Generally the restaurants with high price but low or medium quality of food are restaurants which most people and students like us try to avoid. Well speaking about this one I tried it out because my friend Utpal had two suggestions when I asked him about restaurants left to be tried in Guwahati Club. Among them this was the one which he was eagerly waiting to try since a long time and also had proposed me long ago to go along with him. When we got the chance today we were very hungry as we had walked a long distance and also being lunch time. We went in and saw they had newly launched Raja Roll but thought of trying something heavy. After a brief discussion we ordered two Hakka noodles, mine was pork and his was chicken. Also they didn't have a "half plate" system which made us order one single plate each. While order was being prepared I took a look around the restaurant and saw they had beautifully decorated it with balloons. But the seating arrangement was a bit conjusted which made all the decoration go vain.
At last time to taste the food came. It took a while to cook the food or may be we were so hungry that the normal time seemed a long duration for us. When we saw at our plates we thought that the quantity according to the price was reasonable. The food was in large quantity or in other words more than enough for us. In case of the taste it was okay but we were expecting something much better. I was a bit disappointed because the quantity was so heavy that after eating half of it I gave up and wasted a large amount.
In short the restaurant is average but if they could correct their drawbacks they can improve much better. Firstly not many people would like to go for a full plate, specially those who want to try this restaurant for the first time. Secondly their seating arrangements are a bit conjusted, I do agree that the place is not spacious enough but still they can arrange the seats accordingly.
