Review Skylark - Howrah

Harsh Agarwal
This place is the one of the best restaurants in Howrah that you can dine in. This place had a good ambience and had some great tasting food. The food was also quite reasonable in price with some great service. For the detailed review: We ordered a Chola Bhatura and Paw Bhaji. The food came in quite fast (it was not rush hours though) and the food tasted quite good. The food was adequate in quantity and the taste of the bhaji and chola was great. The only downside would be that the menu was quite small when we came for the lunch and I think that might be a good strategy to cut some time during rush hours. Overall it was a great experience to come here once again after 6-7 years.

I recently had the pleasure of revisiting Skylark Restaurant after a decade, and I am thrilled to share that the place has managed to maintain its charm and quality over the years. From the moment I walked through the doors, I was greeted with warm smiles and a sense of familiarity that instantly made me feel at home. The ambiance of Skylark Restaurant continues to be one of its standout features. The well-designed interior, with its tasteful decor and cozy seating arrangements, creates an inviting atmosphere that is perfect for both intimate gatherings and larger groups. The lighting and background music further enhanced the overall dining experience, adding a touch of elegance to the space. The staff at Skylark Restaurant truly knows how to make their guests feel special. Despite the bustling nature of the establishment, the service remained attentive and cordial throughout my visit. The waitstaff demonstrated a genuine enthusiasm for their work, always ready to assist and accommodate any requests. Their professionalism and friendly demeanor undoubtedly contributed to the overall positive experience. Now, let's talk about the highlight of any restaurant—the food! Skylark Restaurant's culinary offerings continue to impress. The menu boasts a wide variety of dishes to suit different palates, and the flavors were as delightful as I remembered them. The food was prepared with care, maintaining its high quality and presentation. However, it is worth mentioning that there were a few items listed on the menu that were unfortunately not available during my visit. While this was a slight disappointment, it did not significantly affect my overall enjoyment. Overall, my return to Skylark Restaurant was a delightful experience. The nostalgic ambiance, combined with the courteous staff and delectable cuisine, made for a memorable evening. Despite the minor hiccup with unavailable menu items, the overall quality of the food and the attentiveness of the staff made up for it. I left the restaurant with a contented heart and a renewed appreciation for this culinary gem. I highly recommend Skylark Restaurant to both old patrons and newcomers alike. Whether you are looking for a romantic dinner, a family gathering, or a celebratory event, this restaurant will surely leave a positive impression. I, for one, am eagerly looking forward to my next visit to Skylark Restaurant, knowing that I can rely on their consistent quality and impeccable service.

Nice experience I give 4 rating for food because price is little bit high. But food test very yummy and interior design is very nice.

Visiting since 1987. Veg food quality best as far as my opinion goes. Cordial staff. Hygienic. Spotless washroom.

Warm, cozy and elegant. The atmosphere is really relaxing to anyone who comes after a long at work or someone who just wants to break their routine of home-cooked food. The chairs and the sofa are as soft as they come, so full points on the comfort of the customer's seating value. The lighting is soothing and does not discomfort your eyes even if you decide to sit for long. The food is actually good, because people might think that this place has lost it's touch, but it certainly retains some charm to it after all this time in the business. The starters were served warm and it wasn't overcooked, as sometimes I've experienced. The main course was served right out of the kitchen, no delay in service there. The waiters and the staff are very polite and well-mannered. They give you your space and not at all nagging to get you to order up quick. All in all, a very good outing for me with my family and this is a cool place for dining out definitely, one which checks all the right boxes. So, go out there, have fun, and share your experience from it.

The food here is very good . you can't compare it with anything. Order anything and it will be good enough. The ambiance of the place is cosy and very family oriented. Just the concern is tables are too close so there is no privacy ... So except tat everything is perfect.

This restaurant is located in the 1st floor of Howrah AC Market. The place was overcrowded, had to wait for 15-20 minutes, they don't accept advance booking from any app so that's why you have to wait for sometime on weekends. It is one of the best and popular restaurants in Howrah Ac/Salkia. The food served here also tastes good. Though some of the food items are overpriced, one can go to big restaurants or pubs as well with this budget. It is a family friendly and pure vegetarian restaurant.

Its good for a family as well for friends...it's spacious but pricing is high...food is also average not that good if we see the pricing,it's not worth at all. There are also very good restaurants near better than this at reasonable price and delicious food.

This place is very good for family dinners. I visited this place with my family and the food served here is the best in howrah. Skylark ki dal is the best- a must try item on their menu. Recommended for people staying in Howrah. Food is very very yummy. The restaurant also supports home delivery.

The food is ok..<br/>Neither too delicious nor too bad..<br/>The staff is courteous and the service is good..<br/>They also have a descent sitting arrangement..<br/>They do have a separate private area too which can accommodate about 25 people..<br/>So u can also do a small get together sort of thing over here..
Rajesh Pansari
Where on this planet you get Dal Makhani costlier than Paneer Butter Masala. Rates are overpriced.
Shyam Agarwal
One of the good places to eat in the area(not a place to hangout with friends though😑) the food is not the best but even so its pretty good. The service is very good though.
Ayushi Agarwal
The food was okayish, the decor was fine, but the staffs here is very pathetic, they are so rude, they are so arrogant. They do not serve the dish, they just bring it and keep it on the table in a very rude way as if we are beggars. Very disappointed with the service, the staffs should be courteous enough to talk to their customers politely but here they are fully opposite.
Nikita Lunia
I read zomato reviews before going and some of the reviews said that the people were rude, but still I thought to give it a try. This place is definitely not worth anything. The manager, the waiters and everyone serving you here has a different and weird attitude. They don't know customer service at all. Their behaviour is just rude. We ordered Crispy Chilly Babycorn and after that we decided to try another dish, but we were done by their behaviour, we literally wanted to get out of this place as soon as possible. I have had a really bad experience and I would never visit this place again and also, I would not recommend this place to anybody.

Skylark 😍<br/>Tag, Share & follow - @foodie_ism_ 😇<br/>Skylark is Howrah's Pure Vegetarian Beast. It's a pride Family Restaurant serving all the Indian cuisines which are very delicious. The decor and ambience is very neat and clean. Loving place for spending family time. ❤❤<br/>🌟In frame : Chilli Garlic Noodles.<br/>I ordered this online from Swiggy. @swiggyindia 🔸Content :<br/>Chilli Garlic Noodles is a famous Chinese recipe of Skylark. Made with fresh noodles, the strong flavour of chilli and garlic makes it an apt recipe for kitty parties and celebrations. This place has developed itself in terms ambience, quality and fooding.<br/>Now this place is cozy and every family can go for dinner.<br/>It's the best restaurant in howrah.<br/>The fooding cost is also reasonable.<br/>Do visit this place if you live in howrah.

Ordered Chinese bhel from this restaurant for dinner. But after receiving the food I was shocked to see that they have sent us a wrong item. They sent us half american chopsey.Dint expected this from such an old and renowned place. Jus look at the portion of the food.It was almost a half.<br/>If u continue to cheat ur customers like this then very soon ur outlet will gonna close.
Rupam Pal
Very bad behaviour. They accept the order but take hours for preparing it. I have one word for them - Jhhhhhaaaannnttttttttt. If I get an opportunity I will ban the restaurant in this town.

All About Food Cravings
I loved the food especially the pasta. Ambience was quite good and sophisticated. Overall experience is good. Best place for those who eat veg. And also it is one of the best restaurant in howrah

Went there on a weekday for a dinner. This place is always crowded and table booking is a must if you are visiting this restaurant between 8pm-11pm. Talking about the ambience and the food,<br/>Ambience - 3/5<br/>Even though the place has good interiors, the seating arrangement seems a bit clumsy. Also, the place is so crowded that it fails to provide the calm ambience which is generally expected in fine dining restaurants.<br/>Service-5/5<br/>Yes,the service is great. Well behaved and helpful staff. Also, the wait time is not too long.<br/>Food- 4/5<br/>We had ordered tomato soup, manchow soup and milestone soup amongst which the tomato soup wasn't upto the mark. Also, we ordered pahadi paneer tikka which was average on taste, veg gratin was nice. Among the main course, dal makhni is palatable.<br/>Pricing - 4/5<br/>For a group of 5-6people, this place is completely on budget and pocket friendly.

I went yesterday to skylark with family. We were around 8 people.Talking about the service, it can't get more bad than that. The menu and plate came to the table after 30 minutes, We ordered the starter, and waited for that for another 30 minutes. The another waiter came and again asked us for order. When we told that we already ordered starter he told there is no such order and later they told they don't have any starter available. When we ordered the main course, it took another 30 minutes and the food was tasteless. I request the restaurant to work on this and either let themselves closed or don't let many people to be seated if they can't maintain that for whatever reason may be holi or staff shortage.
Shashi K. Mishra
My favorite place in Howrah. This is a very old pure vegetarian restaurant located at dobson rd, howrah AC market. When ever we go, we ordered Paneer Tikka, sam-sabera, kadhai Paneer, tandoori roti, butter nan, masala kulcha. Portion size is perfect. Price is little bit high, but after all good experience.
Ankit Saraf
Good with and fast service. We ordered North Indian food and all the items( Dal makhani, paneer, garlic naan) we're really good. Looking forward to visit this place again<br/>
Amit Pandey
The restaurant has got decent ambience...courteous staff for serving...as for food.....veg manchow soup was good with scope of improvement in its consistency....we ordered paneer 65 which we had requested to be a bit extra spicy...however instead of making it spicy...they increased the amount of curry leaves....for main course we were suggested with paneer pasanda...the gravy of which was slightly undercooked...the stuffing was fine...overall the main course wasnt uo to the mark...then we had ordered daal tadka which was good indeed...no complaints...following which was dum pulao...which was again good...the restaurant seems to be slightly overpriced...hence based on above facts a so- so restaurant ...hence 03 stars<br/>
Nitesh Neet
Yesterday i went there , ordered kulcha with panner butter masala which was quite tasty. But the the biggest mistek of mine was to order lassi , which was not in main menu and actually bad quality and tasteless ( charged-95 in handwritten ,not in actual bill). I don't know the reason but not expected from skylark. That's y 3 stars instead of 4.<br/>
Aman Agarwal
The best place to eat in Howrah. I have been living there for past 20 years and Everytime I want to eat out, it's the first place that comes to mind.( P.S they should not have removed zamato gold )
Joy Ghosh
Tried their Paneer Butter Masala and it was horrible.<br/><br/>It was very bland in taste without spices. One of the worst Paneer Butter Masala I have ever tasted. The quantity was also very less considering their high price.<br/><br/>Have'nt tried other items but I think they will taste the same.<br/>Please improve the quality of food !<br/>

Skylark is Howrah’s Pure Vegetarian Beast.A good family restaurant.Old as well as Gold.Used to serve authentic South Indian beore, the Menu is totally changed to North Indian and some Chinese stuff. The place is medium sized.Quantity stands for 2 people. We had - <br/><br/>1) Chilli Babycorn – Fine (3/5)<br/><br/>2) Paneer Tikka – Fine (3/5)<br/><br/>3) Au Gratin – Tasty (4/5)<br/><br/>4) Mix Vegetable – Fine (3/5)<br/><br/>5) Dal Makhni – Fine (3/5)<br/><br/>6) Kofta – Fine (4/5)<br/><br/>7) Breads – Fine (3/5)<br/><br/>8) Fried Rice – Normal (3/5)<br/><br/>9) Papad – Good (4/5)<br/><br/>10) Tutty Fruity Ice-cream – Vanilla Ice Cream in the name of Tutty Fruit.Average (3/5)<br/><br/>Service was very good and would rate 5/5.

So being in the Food industry for more than decades I believe this restaurant runs by it's Goodwill. Howrah has Skylark a pride since years. I've been visiting this restaurant with family since when I was 2 year old. my personal favorite here is Hot Soup with butter and all the Indian cuisines which are really delicious. the Decor and ambience is neat and clean as mostly the jains and marwaris live in Dobson lane area so serving Veg food is the best option. therefore the taste is really good special the paneer and Dal makhni are superb. but one thing I just feel it's a little pinch to the pocket otherwise everything is good.<br/>cheers !!

Ordered dal makhani butter masala kulcha lime soda and yes the best part biryani❤️ The renovated place looks prettier than before. The service is very fast. Food is light and doesn't give a burn to your stomach . The quantity is decent. Price is ok. Serves jain food also. But biggest turn off untrained staff.I had zomato gold, I unlocked gold and showed them the code on my phone, but they denied service and were rude, then i had to call zomato helpline, and report the problem. The manager MR SHUBROTO, i guess was very rude with the zomato person also. I had earlier rated this place 4 stars but on my next visit., i was completely disappointed . Hope they level up their staff service. There is a way to deal with probs. if they were facing any issue with their system that is acceptable but atleast be polite and moreover the prob was that the manager couldnt see the mail, which clearly visible, as we were enquiring about the prob on the desk, we just happened to notice that the mail from zomato about gold offer was already received and he was unneccesarily creating a scene ( i cant say purposely or by mistake)moreover after all this they dint even bother to aplogise for their mistake. We had ordered mix sauce pasta and gratins . Taste wise ok. Bt the behvaiour totally messed it.

this place is very costly.. i can say in howrah this is only place where u can waste ur money... nothing good in inside just to. make money they have arranged everything

Superb food and newly renovated ambience. The must visit location for all vegetarians. Each and every item we ordered were delicious. Naan was super soft.

Superb food with amazing starters. The new skylark is still maintaining its age old taste with, ofcourse, new dishes to try. I give 💯 to skylark for its excellent food with excellent service. To my family.... Sunday means.... Skylark day.<br/>Keep it up👍

Pure vegetarian restaurant all the dishes are good in taste. North Indian dishes too are good specially the masala dosas. Prices are bit high but quality of the food worth it. Mostly crowded during weekends with family.
Kajal
One of the best place to dine-in with family/ friends in Howrah. The staffs are so good. And ofcourse one of the good place to have chole- batura

Skylark located in Howrah AC Market, is a lovely and very impressive place to dine in.  The ambiance is pretty comforting and vibrant, sending out positive vibes once you land your foot here. It’s a perfect place for family dining.  Seating capacity is quite large and can be a great place for parties and get together with friends. We Recently had the opportunity to be a part of their food tasting session where I got to witness some of the exquisitely prepared and  mouth-watering delicacies, satisfying my taste buds to the core.
Priya Patel
Very Bad Customer Service ,worst food delivery timings, will never recommend anyone for the restaurant. Most hilarious thing is they forget sending food after taking the phone order.
Rupa
Pure vegetarian restaurant located in the howrah.. offers north indian cuisine & limited south indian & chinese items..this place has been rennovated recently ..decent place to visit with family & freinds for casual dining.. quality of food-average.. prices are overrated
Priya Agarwal
This place offers the best Indian food. The USP of this place is that it is purely vegetarian. It offers very little Chinese items too which are good. This is the perfect place for a family get together. The place is quite dimly lit and some of the waiters are really cordial. I regularly visit this place with my family because of its proximity to my house. <br/>This one is the next time I visited Skylark. It has been fully renovated. I tried brownie which was delicious and tutty fruity ice-cream which was bad. The previous tutty fruity used to be amazing.
Sanchit Kalia
Undoubtedly the best vegetarian restaurant in howrah<br/>Its a great place to hang out with friends as well go out with the family <br/>The food is great and the service complements it
Saurabh Kedia
A nice restaurant with good quality food and decent pricing. Best restaurant in howrah. Worth going with family. Meets the expectations of the visitors.
RAHUL M MAHESWARI
Probably the best dine in in howrah. Location is very apt. And rush is also superb. The food quality is also very good and place is also very well maintained.
Rohit Jaiswal
Good ambience, quality service and taste of food... This is basically needed when someone looks for a new eatery. Well this place ticks all these boxes here... The lights are kept dim, items are soft (paneer) and fresh. <br/><br/>But its only for vegetarians... Hard Core non Vegetarians will find disappointment unless they want to try the paneer and mock tail items here. <br/><br/>Price is a bit over rated here and seems understandable keeping in mind the standard of HOWRAH AC area.
Keshav Kothari
Situated in the heart of Howrah... They offer a very limited cuisine but in a proper way... Management people have that chalta hai attitude... Value for money is good... Best thing to order is sham-savera which is not on menu but they can get it for you secretly...
Aman Gaulechha
Went in for dinner, interiors are too old now, AC not proper. Brought crispy chilli baby corn which was too much fired and sauce was also tasteless. In main course nan and kulcha were good and fluffy. Panner do pyaza was decent but the veg jhal frazi was horrible, it was just capsicum, peas and carrots, like only the vegetables left in the kitchen were served, over it the vegetables seemed to be the frozen ones and gravy was also not good.<br/><br/>The vegetable biryani was the only thing I liked, it tasted awesome, but no raita served with it which was disappointing. Tried the Skylark special in the deserts which was also not worth the price, didn't find it special.
Puneet Gadodia
Nice ambience and friendly staff. Food was good and quality is being maintained. Decoration & interior needs a makeover. Cosy seat.<br/>good one.

I was in hurry but hungry as well so chose this place for a quick bite. I had ordered for veg Manchurian and schezwan chow , both were up to the mark. Staff was fast and courteous. A good experience.
Sangeeta Sureka
Worst service ever seen ! I ordered food for home delivery and I was given less quantity of food but they charged me full ,and when I called and complained they gave me excuses and hung the phone up and were talking so rudely ! Hope the management looks after this and tell those I'll mannered call attendants to learn some ethics and manner of talking to a customer ! <br/>Bill no - 10553 date 12/10/16
Priyanka Sancheti
This place may not be that known in Kolkata, but one of the North Indian food are served here. From starters to gravy to kulcha everything is just great. Family restaurant and ambience is pretty decent.
RAJ JAISWAL
Giving this restaurant a 3 rating is because of his ambience nd maintenance but it's costly as well as the restaurant is standard the restaurant has a special cook on its side of dosa as well it's a veg restaurant nd the price is reasonable
Mridul Goel
Good food.<br/>I have been ordering food from this place since long as i stay in the adjacent apartment and a vegan.<br/>Keep upto the mark guys, you still have a kong way to go.
Vishal Jain
Well a restro which is known for its quality ànd old enough to get its name on the top of this area <br/>although i never dined in there but got delivered once a veg biryani on my wife's demand as there is not a single pure veg outlet which serve biryani so ordered from here and it didn't disappoint us . A good portion enough for two and fine quality just a little bit expencive.overall a excellent experience
Vaibhav Thanvi
Great place to visit... Probably d best restaurant in the locality.. The tooty fruity is tooooooo good!!❤ love to visit again and again!! 😍
Tirthankar Roy Chowdhury
Located in howrah AC market, it has been around for quite sometime, evolving with time to suit the taste of people...it is a veg restaurant serving indian, chinese as well as continental cuisine and that too of pretty decent quality at a decent price
Arnav Dubey
Limited dishes to choose from. Food quality is good with service being a little sloppy everytime I've visited this place. Pocket pinch is moderate. Not satisfying overall.
Anil
Ambience is vry nice.. blue dim lights.. bt when i visited this place they gave me a menu on which no any indian food like nan, sabji was there..it was 6 pm..they had their seperate dinner menu after 8 i think.
Poonam Soni
This is the better restaurant than others in my locality.... Enjoy the way they serve and their food. A bit expensive but overall it is quite affordable.
Neeraj Kadel
Nice and reasonable place to visit with your family, this is the place one must visit in order to have good breads they serve in north indian cuisine, never must have had a softer naan at anywhere else.
Sonu Jain
The restaurant is located in first floor of howrah AC market. This place gives you the BEST vegetarian food in Howrah. Paneer Butter Masala and Dal makhani is a must must must try. Masala kulchas are very well cooked and soft. Dim lights make the ambience very soothing and almost perfect for dinner/ lunch. Service is good. A great place.
Sandeep Tulsyan
This place have enjoyed a long monopoly in Howrah region.<br/>It's not very spacious but is often crowded and noisy.<br/>Overall food is not bad. Lighting and ambience is just ok.<br/>Service Staffs are always on their feet.<br/>A place mainly suited for organizing local kitty parties.<br/>
Siddharth Jain
Well, this restaurant enjoys a reputation of its own in the howrah ac locality. <br/>Its located on the first floor of Howrah Ac Market, and is in the business for quite some years now, perhaps the oldest surviving restaurant in howrah. <br/>It was only a few days ago when i paid my first visit to the place. To be honest, i did not like the ambiance much..nothing great about it. Too dark a place for a restaurant that is enjoyed mostly by families(well, its pretty much subjective).<br/>Coming to the food, our order for three was <br/>1.) Crispy Chilli babycorn<br/>2.) Dal makhani<br/>3.)Paneer jhalfarezi<br/>4.) Masala kulcha and butter naan<br/>5.) Jeera Rice (priced at 170/-)<br/>The babycorn was just ok, the only problem being, it was too sweet, seems the only sauce used to make it was regular tomato ketchup.<br/>The dal makhani was simply fabulous, probably one of the best i've ever had in a restaurant. It was top notch.<br/>The paneer was good too, though nothing exceptional(as per the hype).<br/>The breads served were very good..crisp..hot..fresh.<br/>Liked the jeera rice but its too expensive.<br/>Overall, a recommended place, if you want to have a nice time with your family, with some good food. However its expensive considering the location, but a visit once in a while doesn't harm much. <br/>A word for the management : when we eat, we don't like to see the waiters standing right over our heads, as if waiting for us to leave, sends a wrong message. However, the service was pretty quick, no complaints there!<br/><br/>Ambiance: 2.5<br/>Food: 4<br/>Value for money : 3.5<br/>Service : 4

The best paneer tikka and baby corn in town! Such an old favourite but still has its essence! Always has customers! The service is good! Sundays make you cry because of lack of space! The paneer naan is yummy! The veg au gratin is a must must try!
Nikhil Kochar
Nice ambience , great service awesome food I haven't eaten naan so soft anywhere else like what they serve ,all the veggies are tasty ,food menu needs to be improve , Best restaurant in Howrah I would say
Sumit Bajpai
This restaurant is located on the 1st floor of Howrah ac market. I visited this restaurant with no great expectations. Even their interiors are not very flashy. But wait till the time the food arrives and all your notions are proved wrong. This place serves awesome vegetarian cuisine without a doubt. They serve excellent north indian and south indian cuisine. Their Malai Kofta is one of the best that i have ever had. Even their paneer items are equally good.Very courteous staff. Give it a try if you happen to be in and around Howrah.
Vivek Jain
One of the best restaurant in Howrah, they have been for a long time and the food quality is still the best specially north and south indian.
Shaantanu Mondal
Splendid Veg Restaurant.....................<br/><br/>Delectable Taste...............................<br/><br/>Love the Shahi Paneer and Malai Kopta.......................
Vikash Dhandhania
Best among all in howrah . Purely veg resturant. Malai kofta is the best followed by starters. Have your lunch or dinner or snacks whenever in howrah. Staff is well behaved.
Shasank Kandoi
I was here with my family...ordered mix sauce pasta...but it was maggiee pasta served..bekar tha yaar...mood of ho gaya yaar pura....will never come back again

This is actually the best veg restaurant in Howrah. Have been going here since childhood. Didn't know that its listed on Zomato so writing a late review. Since increasing the seating capacity, it generally is empty unless on weekends when the crowd suddenly picks up and the entire place gets filled in 15 mins. Their Shahi Paneer and Malai Kofta are the best dish.<br/>Crispy chilli babycorn is also a regular on my list. The rotis in the tandoor are also very soft. Naans are of huge size, so order accordingly. Tutti fruti also features on my order though its average. On the whole, their North Indian dishes are exceptionally good. Strangely I haven't tried much Chinese here. Everytime I plan to eat veg, I end up ordering North Indian here.
Priti Kanodia
Good food, will enjoy having dinner at sky lark excellent food and good ambiance makes it a well done restaurant and you must order dal makhani and malai kofta.
Dipanshu Gupta
Abysmal service, terrible waiters who drop trays and the most clichéd menu card. Mom's paradise, youth's bane. Average food salvages their rating. Not highly recommend but only restaurant in the area.
Rishav Singh
The best veg food in Howrah, <br/>Expensive yes but great quality maintained .. Absolutely love the food here <br/><br/>Special items paneer butter masala!

Nice place, good food, its just not good for 2 or 3 people as its quite expensive <br/>Hope to visit again to have those tasty babycorn fidato restaurant<br/>
Ayush Jain
The food here is quite good. It may be a bit costly but the taste is worth the money. Its good for all varieties of food be it south indian, north indian or continental. The food items that are quite good and different from the ones available in other places are - veg au gratin, paneer tikka and dal makhni. Overall its a good place to have dinner/lunch with your family. If you are in this area then its the best place for having your food. I've been here quite a few times and I would recommend it to others too.
Anup Patodia
This restra is at Howrah Ac Market. Kind of old and so are the traditions of waiters there. Food here is kind of OK. But when taking about value for money this place is somewhat is no where is my list.

Been here countless times. No other restora could even compete with it in 2km radius.Heaven in Howrah.<br/>Must go.Must reccomend.Made for vegetarians. There wont be a single person in howrah who doesnt know about it.Plus they have renovated the whole restora.<br/>Taste to die for and contemporary interiors.Perfect place.

Not a bad place for an outing...food is quite decent...Though it can go northwards... Ambience needs working...And so the infrastructure too

I have visited this place since my childhood. Food has always been awesome, the dal, the sabzis and the soft breads have always forced me to eat more than the hunger ;) The ambience has not been upgraded with time. But thats about the only drawback. The food quality always makes up for it. Provides more than the value for money.  Its one classic!!!

Third grade service on Sunday. I was served burnt masala kulchas without any masala in it. Hospital supply Malawi kofta with only salt in it.can get better koftas at roadside dhaba also.

Welcome to my favorite restaurant! Since I lived so close to it in my childhood this place is like home to me. Have visited the place for more than 15 years and is always on my list for a must visit. The ambiance hasn't changed much for the last 15 odd years. The seats are comfortable and they are divided into chairs and sofas. Located inside the Howrah AC Market, the restaurant is famous all over Kolkata. <br/><br/>But I did find a change in the Menu and now they have tried to make the rates similar to all other items. For example all the curries have only one price and so are the other items. Well it makes things easy and some people don't have to think much about their budgets. <br/><br/>We were a family of 6 and made ourselves comfortable at one of the tables. The service was good if not great. But all the worries disappeared as soon as your tasted your food. We ordered a Panner Tikka Masala, Navratan Curry and Kashmiri Dum Aloo for curries. The Panner Tikka Masala had that charcoal taste and was our least favorite for some members whereas I loved it. The Kashmiri Dum Aloo may not have the Kashmiri Aloo but it did the trick when it come to taste. The gravy was rich and creamy and the taste was awesome. The best was the Navratan Curry with cashews and pineapple filling the gravy. Absolutely divine and a must try! This time I also tried the Panner Jalfrezi and it was delicious based out from a tomato gravy with chunks of Tomato and Capsicum.<br/><br/>We ordered Butter Naans and Masala Kulcha. The Naans and Kulchas were soft. It had the same texture as some of the Mughlia restaurants in North India have. The Masala Kulchas had a good amount of stuffing.<br/><br/>Next we had the Vegetable Pulao. Well from the top it might seem like normal rice but the taste is great. The rice is cooked in some sort of aromatic flavors and then tossed with vegetables. The rice goes very well with any curry. The Kashmiri Pulao is also great but sweet in taste and quite heavy on the stomach.<br/><br/>The verdict:-<br/>Food/Taste - 9/10<br/>Service - 7/10<br/>Value for Money - 8/10<br/>Quality - 8/10<br/>Ambiance - 7/10<br/><br/>Overall a very satisfying meal!

Great ambience nd food..one of first veg restaurants in Howrah..nice location..always d first preference for family dinner:)But nowadays it is losing its charm b'coz of its poor service Nd the food quality not being as before.i request the manager to please look into the service Nd food quality aspects.last week I had gone there Nd we had ordered chilli garlic noodles, veg Manchurian Nd sizzling brownie with ice cream. And what we got was hakka noodles and brownie was served with two in one ice cream...highly disappointed with this service.

Undoubtedly it serves the best North Indian vegetarian food (and has been doing so for last many many years) in entire Howrah. Recently opened Machaan in AVANI is in different league. The best part is, since the time it opened it has not compromised on quality and taste. Though the renovated interiors has made it bit noisy comparatively. <br/><br/>Its Paneer Tikka, Tomato soup and butter paneer masala are worth going for.

This place is one of my all time favorites. A truly legendary joint on the other side of hooghly. The decor and ambiance is pristine and absolutely love the place for it. <br/><br/>Coming to the food-- The paneer tikka served here is absolutely brilliant, optimally spiced, perfectly "stiff", pardon me for the slightly inappropriate use of diction, and presented with a yummy pudina-curd chutney that I keep licking till I leave the place. The show stealers are the vegetarian preparations namely - malai kofta, paneer butter masala, black dal and pindi chana. During all my visits to the place over the past decade, there hasnt been a single occasion when I could put to fault any of the staples that I just mentioned. It is quite amazing that the place has maintained the consistent taste through all these years. The masala kulcha at this place also deserves a special mention for its taste.<br/><br/>For all the foodies and connoisseurs in Kolkata, I sincerely request an audience for this joint. I promise it wont disappoint many.
